When I saw John’s death scene again in my second Far Cry 5 playthrough, I suddenly wondered if it was really the Deputy who ripped the key off his neck… or if John did it himself.

The more I look at this, the more uncertain I am about whose arm makes the other’s move:

I always thought the Deputy simply had had enough of John trying to convince them they’re wrong and had decided to cut him short by violently taking his key, but maybe it’s actually John who made them do it as if to say, “You want this? Take it, then! See what happens!”

I’m probably imagining things and the Deputy really just eventually managed to take John’s key despite him trying to hold them back (which seems to make more sense because he then looks genuinely sad and prays for the salvation of their soul), but I suppose it’s not impossible he used his last strength to angrily “give” it to them by pushing their arm away from him.

UPDATE 9/26/2023

Strike authorization has passed by 98.32% and SAG leadership are returning to negotiate with game companies to secure a fair deal for voice actors and mocap actors

This DOES NOT MEAN that a strike is happening, it simply means that members are willing to go on strike and leadership can use this as leverage when negotiating. The deadline to come to a deal is is 9/28. If a deal is not reached THEN will there be a strike.

Please remember that the best outcome is that there is no strike and companies simply give workers a fair deal. A strike is a last resort.

While this does not directly affect developers in the game industry, that does not mean it's not important. Voice actors have been treated like shit in the game industry and are under threat by AI. The more people that are unionized, the easy it is for others to unionize. Do not dismiss it just because it is not developers.

The companies that would be affected by a hypothetical strike are:

Activision Productions Inc.,

Blindlight LLC,

Disney Character Voices Inc.,

Electronic Arts Productions Inc.,

Epic Games, Inc.,

Formosa Interactive LLC,

Insomniac Games Inc.,

Take 2 Productions Inc.,

VoiceWorks Productions Inc., and

WB Games Inc.

At the moment, no boycott has been called so there is nothing for consumers or anyone not involved with SAG-AFTRA to do, other than to be supportive on social media and report unauthorized AI recreation of voice actors work. Otherwise sit tight.

#It's like the happy media equals angsty fandom and vice versa but like. Oh lu fics are just full of miscommunication and resentment and sour interactions and pain and simmering anger #I prefer to read trusted authors because it's so wearing but the problem is you have to go out and find them lol #It's a very controversial belief of mine that every link enjoyed their adventure even if it was scary or sad and would not be averse to #Another. Oh the circumstances they might hate. #dragon age tag #i doubt that will see much use again..but who knows. vvv rambling below #weird game..the characters dialogue stuff and ending were good tho :')#i've played some of the first game but it kept crashing. i knew already despite knowing nothing that this guy was going to be my type #it doesnt feel right making video game art any more bc games like this end up feeling really personal - an experience that happened to me #if i design the main character a bit and fall in love then..that happened to me..i can't make Fan Art of that..only ive been through that..#like i cant make fanart of my dear companions in bg3 despite it having been a huge part of my heart in the last year #almost 1000 hours of playtime in something i can barely talk about bc it means too much.... lol #tons of ideas and conversations and extra thoughts and scenes and emotions about all the incredible times i've been through in bg3 #and the maelstrom just rotates around intensely in my own heart forever...but that's ok too...that is so precious to me #but fortunately i already knew people that have played this game and talked/drew abt it recently so it was saved from that for me #sharing scribbly fanart on my Blog is a way to capture the feeling just after experiencing something so it has good points #witch hat atelier escapes that by not being a GAME. games are so immersive. but my wha art & feelings are incredibly immersive too #which makes it difficult sometimes now. i live a complicated and emotional life <3 i am not suited to fandom <3 #my character ended up looking so much like oru without me realising that's what i was doing.
