The RoR react to reader, who are known as the Queen of the Kings and have all 3; brawn, brain, and beauty. Reader have the personality of a ball of sunshine but also won't hestitate to put anyone in their places. Turns out she earned the titles Queen of the Kings because she puts a lot of monarch/leaders, especially male ones, in their place when they get cocky and also have a lot of them falling for her.

Qin Shi Huang, Buddha, Poseidon, Hades, Odin, and Thor, and romantic please!

-There were many queens throughout history, but none more notable than you, as you held many titles, with your most well-known one being Queen of the Kings.

-You were a sole ruler, inheriting the throne from your parents, and while many suitors tried to come for your hand, to become king by your side, including threatening you, you never married- as you ruled expertly on your own.

-Your kingdom never knew war, never knew famine or hardships under your rule, as you made it mandatory that all citizens, no matter the class, should have access to food, housing, jobs, and medical treatment.

-Your people loved you, as they all praised your wonderous rule, so much so that other people from other kingdoms moved to yours, as yours was so wealthy but also so happy.

-This made the kings nearby, whom you refused to marry, quite angry, seeing how well you were doing and how well liked you were.

-Many came, demanding their subjects back, but you argued back that they were free to choose where they lived. Not liking your sass, the four visiting kings tried to attack you, to put you into their place in front of their guards and the nobles from all five kingdoms.

-Armed only with your slipper, you quickly had all four kings on their knees, begging you for mercy. Seeing that you got all four of the kings, many who had been in wars before, begging you for mercy, scared of you and your slipper, they quickly lost their credibility.

-However, you weren’t cruel, giving them mercy and in turn, you offered your assistance, showing them how you ruled, so they could take it to their own kingdoms, so they would have a thriving kingdom as well.

-You weren’t to be underestimated, as you were a trained warrior yourself, but you always chose the peaceful route first, and you only resorted to violence if you had to, and those who opposed you quickly learned this.

-In Valhalla, you were still regarded as a queen and many respected you because you still ruled as you did on earth, with gentle kindness and threats of your slipper.

-You met many unique humans and gods in Valhalla, ones that you would gladly call friends, and you also found the only man that managed to capture your heart, (Love).

-He treated you like a queen, despite being a ruler himself, but to see him treating you as an equal, while those in your past wanted to undermine your power, it was refreshing, and you came to adore him.

-He learned of your past battles, including the one where you put those four kings in their place, something (Love) thought was hysterical, learning of these so-called powerful kings being put in their place, four on one, with you being the victor with your slipper.

-He thought it was just a story people told to get their children to behave, as a lot of people used slippers to keep their kids in line.

-That was, until a bold king, one who only ruled for a short while, less than a month, before being overthrown for being such a crappy leader, approached you while you were waiting for (Love), demanding you, not asking you, to go on a date with him.

-When you refused, he grabbed your arm, trying to threaten you. Those around you quickly took several steps back, afraid, getting out of the swinging zone.

-(Love) saw this boy grab you and he immediately came over, but he froze in his tracks, seeing you immediately slapping his hand off of you while removing a slipper and you bitch slapped him right across the face with it, sending him to the ground.

-Your glared darkly down at him, “Don’t grab when you don’t get your way, boy.” He was stammering, holding his cheek, begging you not to hit him again as you threatened to, to teach him a lesson.

-(Love) approached and the boy immediately ran off, terrified of you.

-Offered to go after him for you, which you brushed off, “No need- he learned his lesson.” As you said this you held onto his arm, putting your slipper back on before he bent, pecking your cheek in greeting before offering you an arm, “If he’s bold enough to try again, you may do as you wish.” You pretended not to see the grin on his face, looking excited before he whisked you away.

-Had his weapon at the ready, “He put his hands on you- he needs to learn a harsher lesson.” You grabbed onto his arm, steadying yourself while you put your shoe back on, “And you can teach him one if he tries to approach me again. It’s not the first time a young one approached me like that, and it won’t be the last.” A dark aura surrounded your lover as he glared, fully ready to make some head roll, hearing how you had been treated. It seems he needs to stay by your side more, to protect you, and to throw hands for you.

What if...

A/N: Branching off my first Hades x Reader, what if he didn’t die in the seventh round of Ragnarok? What if Qin Shi Huang ended up the loser and Hades the victor?

Anxiously sitting on the couch, you watch the battle play out between your husband and the former emperor of China. You will admit, Qin Shi is a formidable fighter. You do not think your husband has not had so much fun since Beelzebub came to Helheim. A funny memory of yours. You were just about to enter dreamland when a large explosion came from one of the castle’s towers. You also remember Hades coming into your shared chamber with his clothing tattered. He had a grin on his face as he told you Beelzebub’s misinterpretations. 

While your husband has taken on more damage than his opponent, he has no intentions of giving up. You can only hope that the medical attention here can reverse the damage. You have noted that Qin Shi’s abilities allows him to see his opponent’s “stars” or weak points. The only problem though, he is fighting with a God. The King of the Netherworld. A man who has a family to come home to and a brother to avenge. With a last thrust of his Desmos, Hades lands the final blow. He pierces straight through Qin Shi’s chest, killing the old soul. They fighters share a moment of appreciation. A king fighting a king, and a king winning as a king should. 

Qin Shi’s body falls flat on the ground, his body and the Valkyrie sister vanishing to Niflhel. Tired, your husband leans against his spear as he watches. The stadium is quiet. The match has left everyone, not just you, on the edges of their seat. Your brother-in-laws are no different. As much as Hades loves his brothers, they share the same affection. Suddenly, the side of the Gods erupt in cheers. The King of the Netherworld has proven how powerful he is. He is not a legend but a God. Your chest deflates from holding your breath for so long. You can now relax knowing that you will have company as you sleep. 

Teleporting, you appear by your husband’s side, gently taking the bloodied spear from him. You may be smaller than Hades, but you do your best to support his weight. Step by step you help him to his entrance tunnel. The announcer as always, is hyping the crowd, loudly stating the winner of the match. 

“I can’t believe you did something as stupid as cutting your chest open. You’ll be hearing about this for the next week.”

“I expect nothing less from you my love.” Hades laughs. His blood covered body is now staining your clothing. When the two of you enter the tunnel, a bunch of nurses surround you two. They guide the king down to play on an extravagant gurney, Hades’ bident is still in your palms. 

“I’ll visit you when you’ve been thoroughly checked out.”

Hades gives you a simple nod as he is wheeled off. Looking down at the spear you wince in disgust. The blood on it has started to oxidize and there are patches of red on your white clothing. Snapping your fingers a servant from your domain arrives. 

“You called m’lady?”

“Yes, please clean Hades’ bident and bring me a change of clothing.”

Now presentable, you head to the room where your family spent before the match began. When you open the door you are surprised to find it empty. Hermes comes from behind you and tells you where your daughter is. Apparently, she asked the servants to bring her to the sky box since she wanted to see you. Making your way back to the terrace, sure enough, you hear your daughter’s laughter. She sits perched on Ares’ shoulders, giving her a new vantage point. Zeus is behind them as he tries to tickle his little niece. 

“Mama!”

Quickly she jumps off her cousin’s shoulders. With your fast reflexes you catch her before something can happen. She may be a goddess, but she is still a child. She started talking about how worried she was during the fight. Hades thought it would be best if she watched the match in the specialized room on the screen instead of in person. A request you did not and still do not understand. She cheered for her father the entire time. The owl she was gifted as a newborn unfortunately had to suffer through some serious whiplash. 

“Where’s daddy?”

“He’s getting some medical attention right now sweetheart. We’ll see him when the doctors are finished.”

A little disappointed but understanding, she nods. Zeus insists of transferring to the tea room as preparations for the next round starts. While waiting, your daughter plays with her cousins and uncles. It is not often that your family comes to Valhalla. Not to mention that she is the only child in Helheim, it can get quite lonely for her. A topic that you and Hades have frequently discussed. Sitting on your lap is her little owl she named “Ow Ow”. A knock comes from the double doors and Hermes answers. 

“Hades is ready for visitors.”

“Yay! C’mon mama! Let’s go see daddy!”

“Hold on there. What do you say to your uncles and cousins for the hospitality they’ve shown you?”

“Oh, thank you for the tea and for playing with me.”

You give her a pat on the head as praise. Saying your farewells you follow the nurse to your husband’s private room. Upon seeing her dear father, your mini you runs up to him, totally forgetting about his injuries. With a huff he envelopes her in his arms. You sit on the other side of the bed, Hades is now surrounded by his family. You and your daughter share a look, and then attack your husband with a kiss. Each of his cheeks gets a firm kiss from you two. A daughter who is glad to see her father again. A wife who is happy to have her husband coming back home with her. A husband who is happy that he avenged his little brother and most importantly, to have his girls in his arms.

In the chinese version, Decarabian is occationally refered to as 孤王 (gūwáng, lone(ly) king) which is a title Qin Shi Huang created for himself for being so high and mighty that normal people cannot come close to him

Qin Shi Huang has been viewed as a tyrant, mostly due to assessments by the Han dynasty that came after

However, he also unified China via standardization of weights and measurement, wheel axels, currencies, written language script, and developed extensive networks of roads and canals for trade and communication. Similar to Decarabian's methodical organization (to the point of micromanagement) of his city

Qin Shi Huang is also known for connecting various state walls built during previous centuries into the precursor to the Great Wall of China for defence against attacks from northern tribes, parallelling Decarabian's tall walls that encircle Old Mondstadt for Safety (or even the storm barrier)

The state of Qin also conquered the six other powerful states in China at the time, ending the Warring States period — so I propose that Decarabian not only preemptively declared himself the seat of the Anemo Archon (which would explain why both he and Venti get refered to as 'wind god') but also the overall victor of the Archon War

I just wanna say you're really good at analysis. I was wondering if you have any tips? I feel like I kinda suck at analyzing whether it's connecting themes or character intentions.

Awww, thank you anon! I happen to have taught intro to Creative Writing courses, so this is right up my alley lol.

I always say that the first step of analysis is connecting with your emotions in how a particular work makes you feel. For instance, let’s say I read a story and I felt bad for the main character. From there, I can then move on to figuring out 1) why I, personally, felt bad for said character, 2) if the creator intended for me to feel bad for this character and how do I know, and potentially 3) if not then why did I feel bad despite the author’s intentions?

Because we as humans are storytellers, we recycle a lot of story beats and themes. This is not a bad thing, just a neutral fact. This allows us to make social commentary by either driving home certain points like societal morals or who we in society should look up to or disparage, and it also allows us to challenge the ideals society upholds since we would all be inundated with them through various stories. Now this is very general, but obviously these ideals may change in some ways from society to society and throughout history, and when we get into genres, the ideas expressed there will also naturally have their own specific commentary and commonalities. If I’m in the romance genre, I’m looking for what x society has to say about romantic love, how permanent/fleeting it is, and how that society defines it. If I’m in the scifi genre, I’m looking for social commentary on the future and how our current day trajectory will affect it.

Ok, so now let’s be specific: let’s discuss Wei Wuxian in mdzs. He is the protagonist, and we know this because the narrative mostly follows him. However, the POV is not in 1st person; why? Well, mdzs is a novel about gossip and mob mentality, how victors can rewrite truth to paint themselves as heroes and deny their wrongdoings. How do we know this? The story repeatedly tells us about what people say, then it shows us their actions that don’t align. Why is the story not in 1st person? Because then we would be left with wwx’s character bias and be unable to verify what others have done through a neutral narrator. Without a 3rd person perspective, we would not know what Jiang Cheng had been up to for the last 13 years as fact, but we do know this in the story because we see it from multiple character’s thoughts, his included. Without the 3rd person, we would be left in the dark about what really happened with Qin Su and some of the more intricate parts of Jin Guangyao’s villainy, since it only happens with the two present.

Now let’s bring feelings into it: I personally like Wei Wuxian because I think he is a charming, good person. I like underdog characters who come out on top in the end. Does the story support this? Well, we are shown multiple scenes where wwx in his first life is surrounded by people pre-ssc, and in his second, the juniors all flock to him before and after his identity is discovered. So him being charming is supported by the writing, itself. How about him being a good person? Well, we start off the story finding out that he’s a mass murdering villain who finally gets his due after attempting to kill off the other clans with his evil cultivation. However, this beginning narrative is undermined by:

1) being told almost immediately upon meeting the “hero who ended wwx,” Jiang Cheng, that jc is actually a mass murderer who imprisons and tortures people. Later, we find the other clans are also corrupt and willing to participate in and turn the other way in the face of actual evil. So not “heroes”

2) being told and shown that the people under wwx’s protection were not disciples but actually the powerless remnants of a fallen clan that were forced into a labor camp for sharing a surname with an already deposed tyrant

3) being told and shown that what the cultivation clans were actually after in murdering wwx was his cultivation tool so that they can oppress the other clans. Wwx’s death was necessary because he refused to conform to this corruption.

So is my feeling that wwx is a good guy justified by the narrative? Yes it is.

This is, of course, a very, very simplified crash course on analysis that takes me a semester to drive home with my students. It also takes a lot of practice in 1) learning how to recognize and state your feelings on a work (even “I don’t know” is an opening for parts 2 and 3 of an analysis: “what don’t you know?” “where are you confused?” “is this intentional?”) 2) not judging your opinions harshly i.e. thinking that everyone else is “sooooo much smarter” than you and discounting your ideas before they even fully form, and 3) learning to discuss these ideas with others in honest discourse, being open to learning something new and being mistaken in equal turns without shame or judgement.

I still miss things when I analyze, and that’s why I love discussion, because I learn something new. I also notice things people I discuss with miss, so I get to impart something that others may appreciate. We’re not infallible, but the goal should be to grow and create community around something, not be stuck and stagnant in our individual thinking. And also, have fun!

Oh my goodness, welcome back! I just recently dives into Tumblr and find one of your posts of RoR and One Piece. Instantly, I got hooked! Can I request? A Sakura Haruno! Reader in joined the Ragnarok as a Human Fighter and shocked everyone with her strength and abilities. If you don't watched Naruto or Boruto, Sakura have superhuman strength by building chakra (or mana) in her fists or feet, she have vast knowledge on medical matters, 100 Healing Mark, a diamond shaped like mark on reader's forehead-which allows herto force a jutsu/technique/skills/spells into a state that can't be broken, as with regeneration, she able to summons slugs which able to heals others and herself... Just that because I think reader might get too overpower if I continues 😂

Anyway, how will the Gods Fighters(all romantic expect Zeus); Thor, Poseidon, Zeus, Odin, Beelzebub and Hades and the Human Fighters (romantic except for Adam); Lu Bu, Sasaki, Adam, Nikola, Raiden, Qin Shi Huang, and Jack, react to a reader so powerful that she can shatters the ground with one punch and have the ability to regenerate?

Hello my darling, I don’t know Naruto, that wasn’t one of the series I grew up with, but I can do this request based on your description of this character. I will do my best to write this for you. I hope you enjoy!

-Unlike the previous fighters for humanity who walked out, you didn’t look like a warrior, you were soft and delicate looking, pretty as well, which gained you quite a bit of attention.

-Brunnhilde didn’t look worried, which was concerning for the human fighters, many who were bandaged and recovering from their own fights (as it wasn’t a fight to the death- no death allowed!) while the gods looked amused, many nursing their own wounds.

-You didn’t look bothered as your opponent, a massive god of earth, came out, looking annoyed that his opponent was a little girl, in his eyes.

-You cracked your knuckles, realizing you were being underestimated again, something you hated, but seeing the shock on the faces of others was something you did enjoy as the god kneeled down, tapping his cheek, “Go ahead sweetheart- I’ll give you the first hit.”

-Brunnhilde sighed almost sadly, holding her cheek, “Oh my- this will be over quickly.” Her words stunned everyone as they all looked back out to the arena as you pulled back and instantly rocked him, sending him flying into the arena wall, causing it to crumple easily.

-Wide eyes and gaping mouths all turned to you as you were brushing your hands off like they were dusty before they went to your hips, a smile on your face.

-HOW WERE YOU SO STRONG?!?!

-The crowd was instantly in an uproar, demanding to know who you were, as many had never heard of you before, while others were laughing, seeing this ‘little girl’ handling business so easily!!

-When your opponent managed to drag himself out, he was furious as you had embarrassed him, holding large boulders from the crumpled wall.

-You moved so gracefully, dodging the thrown boulders, almost like you were dancing with him, but for a big guy, he moves pretty fast, as he managed to get behind you as you dodged and threw his own punch down at you.

-Your arms lifted in an X shape to block, the ground beneath you shattering but you stunned everyone again by remaining on your feet, your calves shaking lightly from the strain before you managed to throw him back.

-The match was very one-sided, with you easily picking up the win, but not before he managed to get a couple of good shots in, however you never looked phased.

-Jaws dropped as you lifted your left hand to your right arm, that he managed to grab and break, and began to heal it with ease- how were you doing this?!

-You emerged the victor and you only had to spend a few minutes in the infirmary, walking out completely fine before you heard running footsteps coming towards you.

-Wanted to know how you did everything in your match, how you were so strong, how you were able to heal yourself, your fighting techniques, and that strange energy that was surrounding you as you fought- he wanted to know everything! When he realized that he came on pretty strong, when you took a step back, he was quick to apologize to you. You could see his curiosity, and you offered him a warm smile, which surprised him before asking him to join you for tea, so the two of you could discuss everything, as you needed a bit of a break.

            -Nikola, Beelzebub, Qin Shi Huang, and Kojiro

-You could tell by his stance that he was looking for a fight, wanting to test himself against you. He had never seen someone so strong before and he wanted to fight you. You greeted him with a warm smile, showing him that you were a nice person, radiating warmth, which didn’t match your earlier actions in your showcase of strength. You confused him a little, as his earlier drive was calming down, seeing that you weren’t a warrior like he was. You could see his disappointment which did make you giggle, as you knew what he wanted before you smiled again, “I need a snack before I fight again. You’re welcome to join me if you want to.” His eyes immediately lit up and was quick to come after you, wanting to know more about that strange healing skill you had, wanting to know how it worked, which you were happy to give.

            -Lu Bu, Thor, Raiden, and Zeus

-Was glad that he caught you, as he wanted to make sure that you were alright, as you were a lady, despite being a warrior and easily winning your match, which you did find heartwarming. He was very kind to you, asking you questions as the two of you walked down the hallway to your own waiting room, where tea and snacks were prepared, as you needed to replenish your energy. He found you to be not only powerful, but very smart as well, as you were able to tell him the answers to his questions in great detail on how your healing skill worked, in a way that he was able to understand it.

            -Adam and Jack

-Was stunned that a mortal was so powerful! When he was watching the fight he felt like he couldn’t believe it, from the first powerful hit to you using your healing abilities, they had no idea something like this existed in humanity! He approached you, wanting to know about the magic you had within you, as humans shouldn’t have magic or skills like you, as you were unnaturally strong. They were stunned to learn your strength came from years of training, honing your skills and your body, turning it into a weapon. When it came to the topic of your magic, you explained what it actually was, the flow of energy within all living creatures, and you harnessed it to speed up your cell regeneration (I tried my best describing this). He was curious, wanting to know more and asked you out for tea, which you smiled warmly at, agreeing. It was only then did he realize he basically asked you out on a date.

Hello! I'm Victor

Hello, my name is Victor Qin.

I'm a Bachelor of Design Studies student in my final semester at the BAC. I was born in Singapore and immigrated to the Boston area with my family when I was five. My exposure to urban landscapes when I was young, led to my enduring interest in architecture and design. I’ve previously worked for Neoscape, DBVW Architects and I'm currently working as a Designer at Floor & Decor. This is my second experience with the Practice ConnEX program; last August I was an extern at ICON Architecture. At DCAMM, I hope to further deepen my knowledge of the architecture industry and learn more about how the Massachusetts Commonwealth manages real estate and construction projects!

I want to be part of an inclusive and diverse workplace. I hope to be able to contribute to a positive workplace culture where all opinions and viewpoints are heard and validated! It is important to me that the creative process involves everyone's input for the final result to be the best representation of a firm's work.
