Bénéteau Oceanis 351, un voilier pour profiter de sa croisière

En 1992, le chantier Bénéteau a lancé l’Oceanis 351. Si ce voilier a fait le bonheur des bases de location, il s’avère être un excellent voilier pour des plaisanciers recherchant un voilier de croisière simple et sécurisant. Lorsque le chantier Bénéteau a lancé la gamme Océanis, il a lancé une véritable signature. Les amateurs de la navigation entre 3 bouées vont railler les propriétaires d’Océanis, pourtant ces plaisanciers naviguent sans doute plus que les premiers. Et leurs bateaux, bien loin des clichés, ne sont pas tous des caravanes. Le Bénéteau Océanis 351 fait partie de ces voiliers qui ont eu plusieurs vies et ont offert beaucoup de bonheur à leurs propriétaires, et locataires.

Histoire de l’Oceanis 351

Au début de ces années 90, le chantier Bénéteau rencontre le succès avec sa gamme Océanis. Les Océanis 320 ou Océanis 350 sont de véritables succès. Ces voiliers de croisière ont rencontré leur public, sur de nombreux plans d’eau, que ce soit le long de nos côtes ou au départ de bases de location. Les premiers Océanis d’occasion se retrouvent sur le marché, ou ils ne restent pas longtemps. Ils correspondent à un nouvelle tendance, ou les plaisanciers cherchent plus le confort que la vitesse et la remontée au vent. En 1992, le chantier vendéen doit renouveler sa gamme. L’Oceanis 350, construit à plus de 690 exemplaires doit être remplacé. Et le chantier à l’idée de faire d’une pierre deux coup en proposant la même carène, pour la gamme First et la gamme Océanis. Bénéteau va faire appel à deux architectes de talent, Jean Berret et Olivier Racoupeau. Les deux hommes sont connus pour leurs voiliers à succès dont, déjà, de nombreux First comme le First 32 et 35 ou encore le First 32S5. Mais ils ont aussi travaillé pour Kelt, avec le Kelt 760 et Gib Sea avec le Gib Sea Plus 80. Les deux architectes vont donc proposer une carène qui va s’adapter à deux voiliers : le First 35.7 et l’Oceanis 351. Si le premier n’est pas une réussite ( il ne restera que 2 ans au catalogue), la version voilier de croisière répond parfaitement à l’ambiance du moment. 430 Oceanis 351 seront vendus entre 1992 et 1998. On peut dire qu’il aura réussi à remplacer son prédécesseur.

L’Oceanis 351 sur l’eau

L’Oceanis 351 est un voilier de croisière. S’il bénéficie de la carène du First 35.7, il reste un voilier tranquille et facilement accessible à tous les plaisanciers. Mais si le voilier n’est pas un croiseur rapide, il n’en reste pas moins un voilier plaisant à naviguer et ne restant pas à la traîne sur les plans d’eau. L’intérêt du voilier est qu’il a été pensé, aussi, pour la location. Il portait le nom de Mooring 352. Cet intérêt passe par des aménagements, sur le pont, pensés pour faciliter les manœuvres. Si vous souhaitez éviter les manœuvres physiques, pour pourrez profiter de l’optimisation du cockpit et du piano. La grand-voile est généralement sur enrouleur. Certains n’aimeront pas mais, c’est un confort appréciable pour certains d’entre nous. Sur les dernières années, une version, un peu plus optimisée, a été proposée. Cela se traduisait par un lest plus lourd de 300kg. Ce qui permettait de gagner en stabilité et d’améliorer la capacité à remonter au près. Cette version, avec une grand-voile classique, aura sans aucun doute un attrait supplémentaire, sous voile.

Un voilier tout confort

En fait, le grand intérêt de l’Oceanis 351 se trouve à l’intérieur du bateau. Ce véritable croiseur est vraiment pensé pour la vie à bord. La première chose que j’aime sur ce bateau est son carré déporté sur le côté, faisant face à une cuisine américaine. Ce type d’aménagement permet d’optimiser l’espace et, surtout, le passage vers la cabine avant. La seule salle d’eau est située à l’arrière, au pied de la descente. Elle face à une table à cartes de taille plus que correct. L’Oceanis 351 était proposé en deux versions, 2 ou 3 cabines. La version 3 cabines est cohérentes pour ce bateau. L’absence de vaigrage est un plus, dans le temps, et les boiseries sont de bonnes qualités. La version location «  Mooring 352 » ne doit pas être écartée. Elles se négocie plus bas, sans que le bateau soit en moins bon état.

Notre avis sur l’Oceanis 351 d’occasion

L’Océanis 351 est un bon choix pour les plaisanciers qui recherchent un voilier simple à naviguer et rassurant. Dans le même temps, le prix du bateau est généralement abordable, et permettra d’intégrer quelques personnalisations, dans le budget total.
