Joining this group of misfits and outlaws had certainly not been on Roche's agenda, though it could be said that stranger things happen at sea... or overseas considering current locations and climates. The dry heat of Cosmo Canyon wasn't agreeing with his complexion in any case.

Still, were it not for a certain yellow haired doppelganger and his ailments Roche would no doubt still be writhing beneath the heavy weight of ShinRa's proverbial thumb. Amusing really, how freedom did indeed come with an exuberant price above ones head. Very little doubts that the company was out to hunt him down as a deserter, him and this little band of tearaways.

The former Third wouldn't change his circumstances for all the tea in Wutai, it had to be said. There was something rather joyful about tearing pathways for brightly coloured chocobo in the sands of the Vale. Cloud Strife was eating his dust, in a literal sense it would seem, while his brother would supposedly find more solace from the corruption of his airways seated upon Sleipnir's pillion.

Today, however had been deemed a day of rest from their unlikely leader, whom Roche found in the place in which he'd left him at their current encampment high in the crags; seated upon a single jut of rock and scratching feverishly at the lump of wood he'd had since that morning. The boy was anxious, that much was obvious even to the untrained eye, perhaps for the other parts of his person who resided within the shelter of the tents, his already injured throat ripped raw by the grit known to blow about the plains.

He killed Sleipnir's engine before opening his mouth to speak, and was yet interrupted by the offering Cloud placed upon the broad case of the chassis. Rough around the edges and yet so detailed all the same, Roche would be stunned into an aspired silence as he plucked the little fox from the bike's body, turning it over in his hands.

There was something so very endearing about the wooden sculpture; one of a kind, handmade in a time of hardship and worry, a treasure whittled to such a delicate finish by the fingers of a man who once cleaved an entire motorcycle in two with little more than a single swing of his sword.

"A man of many talents, hm~? A smile and not a single caustic tone to be heard before he's carefully setting that wooden fox back onto the Sleipnir's chassis.

"I have offerings of my own! The foragers quest was bountiful this glorious morn!" Boasting out of the way he would unhook the over stuffed pouch from his belt and toss to land at Cloud's feet, smile widening, maddeningly so as he leaned dramatically close to the blond sat before him still.

"It's time to cook, my friend~!"

Junon was never a place he enjoyed visiting. Upper Junon was much like Midgar, in that it stood as testament to Shinra ideology and ingenuity -- and their manipulation and ruthlessness. Down below was what was left of the Junon he had "known", would have grown up in; it was also the home that he had abandoned in pursuit of providing a better life for everyone there.

Of course, to no avail.

Shinra had made promises to make up for the war between them. And just like every other promise to every other town and village, every single one had been broken, the company's lies laid bare, the Republic of Junon dismantled. But what was done couldn't be undone, and his naive optimism had cost him everything.

Now here Elwin was, helping with preparations for a ceremony to welcome the next president of Shinra, and he was hating every moment of it. Which raised his ire all the more because of his awareness that he was no better than the company itself for working for them, but that was karma, he supposed, for the choices he had made. But why, then, did he continue to stay?

To make a difference, he told himself. If helping others outside meant swallowing all of his negative emotions in order to gain information from the inside, then he would stay until his dying breath. Liar, a voice scolded him; it's cowardice, and you know it. No amount of twisting the truth will redeem you.

And it was true. He couldn't and wouldn't deny it. After his wife had left with their two sons, what had remained for him to do but try to bury his grief by focusing entirely on others and helping them? And by going to Midgar, there was a slim hope that maybe, just maybe, he would reunite with them there.

What started as a frown soon enough became a deep sigh. A hand pressed briefly against his forehead before drifting to the railing ahead of him, and his gaze ventured from the sea -- and the Sister Ray, a weapon as unnecessary as it was prominent -- towards the street stretching onward behind him. There were soldiers walking to and fro, creating an unspoken blockade for much of the citizens as the parade's preparations were seen to. Meanwhile, in the not-far distance, a familiar, pristine white jacket caught his attention, while the black suit next to him all but confirmed the identity of: it was Rufus Shinra himself, paying a brief and early visit from Midgar.

Probably surveying the scene to make sure it's to his liking, he thought with another flame of irritation licking at his heels. Still, he pulled away from his spot -- and his thoughts -- in order to wander closer, just in case.

It certainly had nothing to do with being scared, and Red damn well knew it. Words spewed to force the mercenary into a vulnerable position which, with all intents and purposes, seemed to be working.

Even if the first thing Cloud did right then was fix the former lab-rat-dog with a vicious glare.

"You get a kick outta talking to me like I'm stupid?" If nothing else Red was getting a rise out of the blond, much against Cloud's better judgement. A misplaced yet seething anger he was no choosing to project on this creature asking questions Cloud did not have the answers to.

Least, no ones coherent enough to be put into words. He knew what happened at the reactor, he knew, and the regret was insurmountable, yet how could this conversation hold more worth than getting back to the village and caring for their friend...

Their friend he'd very nearly murdered... A thought all in itself which forced Cloud's entire demeanour in that moment to droop about the shoulders.

Only then did the gravity of it all begin to weigh heavy, and it's all he can do to just drop his gaze into the space between them.

"Too scared to have a talk with a friend? This isn't like you." Red's ears tilted back, wrinkles deepening between his eyes. His paws squared firmly into the ground, with his marred shoulder facing the mercenary. His tail was low, and still. It spoke of tension.

"Nothing I saw back in that reactor really looked like you, in fact. You slaughtered those grunts. You attacked Tifa." His head tilted lower. "You didn't even hold your sword the way you always do."

AU :\\ Star wars; Super Soldier on the run

Gaia is a planet in which the main city of Midgar remains, and where Zack lives. Zack joined Shinra at the ripe young age of sixteen, with the dream to become a hero. He started in the soldier program as a lower class, eventually making it to first.

While the galaxy had their own issues, Midgar is in the process of trying to locate Genesis, a first class SOLDIER that went rogue. It's during this event that they have Zack, now SOLDIER second class, assigned to Angeal, a SOLDIER first class. Angeal works hard to make sure he's teaching Zack, and in many cases has to save him from himself. During one of these missions, Zack falls through the roof of the Sector 5 slums' church. This leads to him meeting Aerith, a girl living in that sector.

There is a mission in which Angeal is lost, passing the Buster sword on to Zack, who tries to take care of the sword in the same way Angeal did. Zack enters a long period of depression following Angeal's passing. Some of these moments were spent visiting Aerith, someone that he felt able to be vulnerable around. He didn't have to keep a smile on his face.

Eventually, he goes to Nifelheim with Sephiroth and a handful of Shinra guards. He had gotten to know one of the Shinra grunts and made friends on previous missions--someone he got to bring along on the mission to Nifelheim.

It was on this mission that once they made it to the mako reactor in that area that Sephiroth lost his mind and burnt nifelheim to the ground, then slaughtering every unfortunate person that was there. Few people survived, and Zack made it his mission to put a stop to Sephiroth.

This mission becomes haulted when he is unable to stop Sephiroth, and the only one to damage the silver haired monstrocity is his friend, Cloud. When he next came to, he was in one of Hojo's labs as a specimen in a tube. A scientist noticed he had broken out, and he, of course, had to neutralize them. The next move was to take Cloud out of his tube and escape.

During this time in the rest of the galaxy, the clones had turned on their jedi.

Like? We can all agree, that, all other factors aside? Given the life he's lived and the personality he has? The sheer NONSENSE he's been exposed too (from rays to oozes to powders to magics etc) AND the by definition unfinishable nature of his Life's Work/Obsession?

If Batman lived in a world connected to Danny Phantom's Zone in any way... he's DEFINITELY becoming a Realms Ghost.

Like? It's not even a "possibly" here. It's an inevitability. He HAS to protect just one more person. HAS to solve one more case. HAS to protect his kids one last time. He HAS Too, HAS Too, HAS Too.

He's Batman.

It's etched into his soul. The man's ghost will literally REFORM in that outfit. Batman with a glow. Batman the protection spirit. Kindness and grief and an eternity of "I have to save just one more."

He's not going to get to die peacefully or rest quietly. It would go against his nature.

But! Why is this relevant? Because of the Elseworld stories. Those AUs. The Multi-Verse at large. They ALL... Have Batman.

Consider: Ember McClain. Rocker. Remember that name. Yes, in some worlds she makes it big. But? Tragedy and betrayal in others. Death. Do you think the Ember's of those worlds are fine with passing on silently? Shrugging and being forgotten just because some other Ember got there first?

No. They are Ember. SHE is Ember.

Just as Clockwork is Time.

What makes a Realms Ghost different then someone like Deadman? Than a Shade? A poltergeist? Your average spook?

They are only themselves.

Singular.

Small.

A tiny little fraction, of a fraction, of a part, of a small bitty droplet, if even that. You only get one soul. But! You share it. There are many "You"s. Like the universe itself, exploding out, to live, to experience, BE, and then collapsing back together in the end. Running together like rainwater in the cracks of Realitys. Seeping back into one piece, one person, in the place between places.

It's why one forgets silly things like Names and Pasts. You had so, so many. All of them were yours. Made you. Shaped you. But are not why you refuse to let go. Why you still EXSIST. Outside of Creation and Rebirth, beyond any gods you could possibly recognize. Refined to your truest SELF.

Yet... you might still be Alive. You know that you ARE. Time exists for the living. To balance beginnings, middles, and ends. Why do you care? They aren't you yet. They will be. All of you will eventually come together. You'll become something... MORE.

Ancient.

The wisdom and complexity of a complete Being. More a Person then your average soul. Like giant stars compared to a barely burning dwarves. You know, assuming you don't give up first. Most give up. It takes a certain sort of patience, after all. A LOT of timeless time. Kinda sucks.

Yet! We consider The Bat. Persistence and Stubborn Hope made manifest. Compassion born of terrible grief. Dead. Again and again and again. Dead for those who needed him. Who hated him. Who cursed or forgot or lamented him. In every imaginable age, a story played out the same. Ending the same.

Himself instead of another.

Himself FOR the others.

Himself because none other could.

Sacrifice and Sacrifice and Sacrifice. Desperation to save. Worlds burning and cities falling. Waking up, reaching out, to shield sons and daughters that are not there. That live because he does not. Dragging himself through the stubborn walls of world after world, like a haunting final curse, upon those who harmed his family, his city. His world.

A wraith. Gothams final curse upon those who damn her.

What must it be like? To keep saying good bye? To drag your aching soul, fuller and fuller of terrible memories, across the fields of jagged glass that are portals you tear, to world's on fire. Just to save friends and family. Enemies and strangers. All of whom, must in the end... bury you anyway.

Because you must kill the hope in their eyes. Must die before them again. Because you can not stay and they can not come with you. Or worse... they can, and will soon.

Sitting on fields of battle where you tried. Gave all your spirit could muster. But... it's over now. And all you can offer is the knowledge is that they should not be afraid. You will carry them home.

And are there? Nightwings and Robins and all manner of other family, waiting back in the Zone? In a Manor where Pennyworth lives eternal? Do they also hurt and fight to save their friends? Each new piece of them coming with some great tragedy that they must put right?

Do they give Walker and the Observants migraines? Probably.

Imagine, though: Time travel added to the mix. Dying in the future. Your son managing to turn everything back to before the world ended. The Ghost King is suddenly a Baby again. Every one is freaking out. "Oh no! The king!" Blah blah blah.

But you and your family are more concerned about the world ending threat that kills a part of you. So is the baby ghost king, when you tell him. You show up in your own Cave, freak yourself out. Team up time. Though you ARE growing concerned by the Baby Kings self-neglectful behaviors. Hey, Me, are you seeing this?

I got some interesting question in mind after having watched secret/bonus content in ISAT.

Apparently, the Change God really DOES exist and has interacted with Mirabelle and Siff (quite mean to our smoll Siff >:( ).

So, I'm wondering if he told the party about his/her/their existence, and what that would mean for the world(is there other deities???) !

Uh, does the people of the Island believes in a god? the Universe maybe? I don't the Elders are, more likeguiding spirit? I dunno, I'm not well versed in Sky's lore.

Ooohh man I got stuff to say about this BUT! It’s technically big spoiler for the end of the comic so like, If you want I’ll write it under the cut.

So the Change god is a form of deity/energy similar to the Megabird in Sky. The 2 deities are more connected than you might imagine though.

For the people of the island the Universe will always come first, since the Megabird is the creator of stars and so of their energy, but the Change god is what made it possible for everything to transform into different things. So the 2 of them are like the material and the molder.

People from the island also unconsciously follow in a way the Change god by taking part every year in the Cycle.

Basically the whole rebirth thing that happens in Sky that you can do every week is a yearly ritual for every person on the Island. On their birthday, they will meditate at the Eden realm elder temple (that is now destroyed) and they’ll go back to Orbit to gain a new winged light. That is why the number of wedged you have in the AU is equal to your age range. While in Orbit they can also use the high level of craft energy present there to change their appearence like a new haircut or outfit (the equivalent of having the closet available there in the game) They will then fall back from the sky always in the same spot as they fell the first time.

So rebirth in a way is the ultimate change you could go throught to be able to gain more energy and to become closer to the Light (again, the Universe)

Bored, the Nordic trickster god, Loke, decides to create his own brand of entertainment. Dick and Tim's relationship isn't optimal, and neither man have spoken to Jason in years since Bruce nearly killed him.

Of course, this becomes irrelevant, when Dick wakes up one morning inside Jason's body. Now the three of them have to work together to figure out how to reverse this, while also keeping it a secret from anyone else.

Jason commits suicide as a sort of test to see if he'll actually die or not. Tim finds him dead in a bathtub and sets off a series of events that'll alter their relationship with the Bats.

Dick and Tim cope differently regarding the accident - Tim can't stop dreaming about it, whilst Dick considers his dreams and thoughts nightmares.

Meanwhile, Jason's trying to figure out what to do about the pregnancy.

Dick & Tim also wonders if Jason's pregnant, but instead of just asking, they try to get Jason to tell them. It goes about as well as one can imagine.

That previous post reminded me of an old AU I played around with for a second. It's called Sonic Rebirth and used to be part of my Sonic-verse! Not anymore though.

(Inerste is a concept thought up in that YT video I was talking about. Can't remember who made it.)

So in this AU, the Duke of Soleana is alive in the present day and during that big parade thing in 06 (Called the Rite of Rebirth here), he splits Solaris apart in an attempt to bring his wife back. Each of the three pieces of Solaris seek refuge inside each of the Triple S Trio hogs. Mephiles possesses Sonic, Iblis possesses Silver, and Inerste possesses Shadow. The Duke is killed and the power to reforge Solaris is given to Elise (but they don't know this until later).

I've got notes for this AU past that, but mostly what you should know is Sonic and Elise are searching for answers while Mephiles keeps taking control of Sonic's body as he tries to find and merge with Iblis, Silver keeps loosing control of Iblis and going on fiery rampages as Blaze tries to help him, and Inerste is the only one here who's actually good and just wants to reunite with Mephiles and Iblis and also help Shadow open up and acknowledge his emotions.

(Also should be noted in this AU that if Mephiles and Iblis reunite without Inerste there, they will be come a husk of Solaris bent on destruction, with no regard for humanity. Inerste is what gives Solaris his emotions, his compassion, his heart. If it's only Mephiles and Iblis, Solaris will have nothing holding him back from destroying everything in revenge, which is what Mephiles wants.)

Hell - Vampire!Eddie Munson

Summary: Vecna, weak and wounded after the events of March 27th 1986, seeks to enact revenge on those who foiled his plans. And his key to such revenge? A boy left behind, barely clinging to life.

Note: So…welcome to my take on Vampire/Kas!Eddie. This fic, entitled Hell, can be read as a stand-alone, but is essentially going to be one of three companion prequels to a Vamp!Eddie AU fic I have in the works. I want to finish FF and get a few more chapters of Store Manager Verse published before I really start working on this idea…but with tomorrow being the “anniversary” of Eddie Munson’s “death” in the Upside Down, it only seems poetic to explore this first.

In the beginning, there was pain.

Enough pain that it should have been The End.

Eddie believed the pain meant The End.

But he had never been so lucky to experience the end of any suffering before, so he should have known better.

He couldn't recall the moment Dustin's hands were wrenched away from his body, leaving him floating in the darkness. Or the way his body felt before the teeth ripped into him. Or the act of kindness that led him to this horrible punishment.

The road to Hell was paved with good intentions. It vaguely echoed in the back of his mind, taunting him.

And in some way, Eddie Munson always knew he was going to Hell.

Just not like this.

First it seized his body and paralyzed him, as acrid tendrils poisoned his veins and his heart and his mind; he briefly recalled reading about Komodo Dragons in 5th grade. The way they ripped into their prey and let the venom work slowly and painfully to overtake them before the feast could begin.

He would not be a feast for the creatures of this realm but for their Master. Repentance for their failed tasks. They would not feed again until he did, wouldn't taste power until his was regained.

And feed is exactly what Vecna did.

The tendrils carded through Eddie's memories and poisoned them: his hopes and fears, everything and everyone he loved and held dear. His joy and indifference and hatred.

They decimated everything good; ripped them up from the roots and salted the ground below them, only leaving unrecognizable scraps behind. Then they latched onto the bad with no intention of ever letting go. Suckled on his sorrow and his hatred gluttonously.

Vecna especially liked to graze on the pain though; those morsels were most succulent and came in abundance. It was never enough, though; in the howling silence, even more pain was willed into existence.

You are alone. They are at fault. They tricked you. Sacrificed you.

Eddie never had a reason to let the pain weigh on his heart before, but his tormentor would see that rectified. He would break him down...

They left you behind. Left you to this fate. Left you to me. To do with you what I please.

...Until he no longer felt anymore.

And do to you I shall...

After eternity had passed, Eddie's body was unceremoniously dragged across the barren, uneven earth of the Upside Down. He watched the chilling, sizzling, flashing of the unfamiliar sky as he was transported for miles and miles, ad infinitum.

Until a threshold was crossed, and he entered the next circle of unending torture.

His carcass was rent into unnatural shapes, bones cracked, the marrow scraped out. Skin was flayed, flesh split open, until his barely-beating heart was on display and blood splashed weakly onto the over-saturated ground.

His eyes though...remained.

For some reason, Vecna wanted him to see.

The eyes are the windows to the soul, after all.

So he let Eddie stare at the rest of his collection—an unfinished one, but an impressive one nonetheless. He let Eddie stare at the looming pillars; at the empty sockets and gaping maws. At twisted husks that would never truly be filled again.

Because he wanted Eddie to choose to lose his soul. Wanted him to sell it. To trade it for salvation, lest he end up like the others.

It was almost disappointing at how short a time it took...

It was only a day—a day of staring at Chrissy and Fred and Patrick—before he wailed so wildly and begged so loudly that his jaw unhinged and every part of him truly became broken.

And at that moment, everything Eddie Munson was or had been or could ever hope to be no longer belonged to him. He was ripped apart both literally and figuratively. Whatever damage the bats had instinct to cause, it was but a mere drop in the sea of carnage that their Master endeavored to create.

He could sense the creatures around him, sense their anticipation to frenzy. Whether that was to fight or to feed, only time would tell.

They had worked tirelessly to stitch him back together. Followed their Master's instructions. Some were sacrificed to the cause: their bodies freely given, because their minds would remain.

Part of the greater whole.

He would never be considered whole anymore, but he was possible more than whole; the extra pieces sustained what would have perished due to the crucial part of him that was missing.

"Rise," a groaning, creaking voice sounded and all went silent. As all the creatures of the Upside Down witnessed the completion of a wicked metamorphosis.

The product of their collective toil began to writhe and twitch as it was reborn.

Resurrected.

"Rise," Henry repeated, "and become what you were always meant to be."

And in a realm full of monsters, the thing that rose was truly monstrous.

Leathery wings. Rows of teeth, too many to fit so they left his jaw unnaturally wide. Talons that could rip. Eyes that could cut through any sort of darkness.

He wouldn't bow. His Master remade him so he would never bow. But he still knew his place.

This gift he was given could easily be taken away. He wouldn't squander it.

He made a vow. A promise.

He would serve.

But he made a promise before, he recalled.

A promise not to be a hero.

And as a consequence of breaking that promise, he could never be one again.

Eddie always knew he was going to Hell.

He simply never thought he would become the Prince of it.
