Dandy Boy Records continues it proliferant ways with it's announcement of the upcoming 7" from new San Francisco/Bay Area group Ryli. This is a collaboration between Rob Good (The Goods) and Yea-Ming Chen (Yea-Ming and the Rumours).
The two originally joined forces when they recorded a song for the Cleaners From Venus compilation released by Dandy Boy. The Dandy Boy page refers to Camera Obscura and "Spector-esque" sounds.
Dandy Boy is also releasing a cassette from Magic User another Bay Area band that the label describes as leaning into their influences of "Sonic Youth, Dinosaur Jr., and Teenage Fanclub." I think the one song that's available sounds a bit like Sonny & the Sunsets.

The sunset from my backyard tonight. The view looks west across the SF Bay towards “the Peninsula”. (San Francisco itself is behind the hill on the right.)
Same photo below but I’ve indicated Venus which is just a pin point in the photo.

peter chauncey’s SONG OF THE WEEK "Mother of Pearl" https://peterchauncey1.bandcamp.com/track/mother-of-pearl —Cheers to peter for his cover of this Roxy Music song. Here are notes from Johnny J. Blair (who produced & performed on the music track): “'Mother of Pearl' is a two-tiered rock operetta created by Roxy Music in 1973. Bryan Ferry’s lyrics allude to Boticelli's ‘Birth of Venus’ painting, the Bible, and Frederic Neitzsche. The original RM version opens with a sinister shindig, like speed freak bikers crashing a Sam Cooke party. Abruptly, the party-groove cuts to a pensive, down-tempo Velvet Underground-style chord meditation. The lyrics go on to measure the dead end of 'party love' against the durability of pure love.
“peter extrapolated the second tier of Ferry's operetta, adding hypnotic VU-like noise drones. When I played the piano on this (channeling Nicky Hopkins) I didn't know we were tracking, and this is the take peter wanted..." Listen here … https://peterchauncey1.bandcamp.com/track/mother-of-pearl

Finding the Perfect Venue for Your Next Event in San Francisco
San Francisco is a vibrant and exciting city, making it the perfect destination for your next event. Whether it’s a corporate event, a wedding, a private party, or a conference, finding the perfect venue for your event can make all the difference. With its numerous neighborhoods and venues ranging from classic to modern, San Francisco offers a variety of options to suit any event. From the unique and eclectic Mission District to the iconic views of the Golden Gate Bridge, there’s a venue in San Francisco to fit your needs. With such a wide range of choices, it can be overwhelming to narrow down your options and find the perfect event venue. To help you get started, here are some key tips to consider when choosing the right venue for your next best event venues San Francisco.
Popular Venue Options in San Francisco
San Francisco offers a wide range of venues for special events. Popular options include hotels, banquet halls, conference centers, museums, art galleries, restaurants, wineries, and outdoor venues such as parks and beaches. Many of these venues offer amenities such as catering services, audio-visual equipment, and event staff. San Francisco is also home to a number of unique and unexpected venues, such as cruise ships, stadiums, and even old military bases.
Factors to Consider When Choosing a Venue
When choosing a venue for your event, there are a number of factors to consider. Think about the size of the event, the number of guests expected, the type of event, the budget, the amenities needed, the location, and any other criteria that are important to you. It’s also important to consider the availability of the venue and whether or not it will meet any special requirements you may have.
Tips for Finding the Perfect Venue
When searching for a venue, it’s helpful to make a list of the criteria that are important to you. Once you have your list, you can begin your search by looking online, asking friends and family for recommendations, and talking to local event planners. It’s also a good idea to visit potential venues in person to get a better idea of the space and how it will work for your event.
How to Research Venues in San Francisco?
When researching venues in San Francisco, it’s important to take the time to read reviews and compare prices. You can also ask questions about amenities, services, and policies to get a better understanding of what’s included in the rental fee. Additionally, it’s wise to contact the venue directly to ask questions and get a better sense of their customer service.
The Benefits of Working with a Venue Consultant
Working with a venue consultant can be a great way to find the perfect venue for your event. A venue consultant can provide helpful insight into the local market and help you find a venue that meets your needs and budget. They can also provide valuable advice about the planning process and help you navigate the paperwork involved in booking a venue.
Venue Rental Fees and What to Expect
Venue rental fees vary depending on the type of venue and the length of time you need to use it. Be sure to ask about additional fees for amenities such as catering, audio-visual equipment, and event staff. You should also ask about the venue’s cancellation policy and what happens if the event needs to be rescheduled.
Making the Final Decision and Booking Your Venue
Once you’ve found a venue that meets your needs and budget, it’s time to make the final decision and book your venue. Be sure to read the contract carefully and ask any questions that you may have before signing. Once the contract is signed, you can begin the process of planning and preparing for your event.
Conclusion
Finding the perfect venue for your next event in San Francisco can be a daunting task. However, with the right research and resources, you can find the perfect spot that fits your needs and budget. Start by making a list of your desired features and budget. Then, research the various venues in San Francisco and narrow down your list to a few that best fit your requirements. Finally, visit the venues, get quotes, and read reviews to make sure your event will be a success. With these tips, you’ll be able to find the perfect venue for your next event in San Francisco.

From picturesque outdoor venues to luxurious indoor spaces, we've got you covered with a comprehensive list of the best event venues San Francisco.
Exploring the City's Best Event Venues
When planning an event, the venue is one of the most important elements to consider. It is essential to explore the city’s best event venues in order to find the perfect space for your gathering and make sure it is an unforgettable experience for all guests. There are a variety of options to explore when looking for an event venue, including hotels, restaurants, parks, and more. Depending on the type of event, you can find a venue to match the occasion. Additionally, some venues offer catering services and other amenities, making it easy to plan the perfect event.
Comparing Venues Based on Budget and Location
Once you’ve identified some potential venues, it is important to compare them based on budget and location. Make sure to ask about any additional fees and be aware of any restrictions that may apply. Location is also a key factor, as it can make a huge difference in the atmosphere of an event. Consider how easy it is for guests to get to the venue and if the area provides enough parking. If the venue is far from the city center, make sure to check the availability of public transportation.
Identifying the Perfect Venue for Your Event
After selecting some potential venues, it is important to visit them in order to gauge the environment and get a better understanding of the space. Many venues offer tours or walkthroughs, so it is important to take advantage of these opportunities. Additionally, make sure to ask about any additional services the venue provides, such as audio-visual equipment or furniture rentals. The goal is to identify the perfect venue for your event, so exploring the venue in person is key.
Exploring Unique Venues to Make Your Event Stand Out
When planning a special event, it can be helpful to explore unique venues that will make the event stand out. Consider checking out historic sites, museums, theaters, galleries, and other unique venues that can provide a unique atmosphere. These venues often come with their own set of rules and regulations, so make sure to ask about any restrictions before making a decision.
Finding the Perfect Space to Accommodate Your Guests
When selecting a venue, it is important to consider the size of the space and make sure it can accommodate all your guests. Make sure to ask about the maximum capacity of the venue, as well as any additional seating arrangements that may be available. Additionally, consider any special needs you may have for your event, such as audio-visual equipment or internet access.
Utilizing Technology to Streamline Your Venue Search
Technology can be a great resource when searching for the perfect event venue. Many cities have websites dedicated to providing listing of potential venues, making it easier to compare options and find the best fit for your event. Additionally, many venues have their own websites, making it easy to view photos, read reviews, and get an idea of the atmosphere.
