I don't know why, but since I started this blog, the converted Chapel on the Bay, in Palmetto, Florida has been on the market at least 4 or 5 times. And, here it is, for sale again. 2bds, 2ba, $699K. The original owner spend $1.3M to convert it.)

The floating chapel has served as a picturesque wedding venue and also as a short-term rental or Airbnb. The former Chapel is being sold fully furnished. It's ready for the next owner to live in at the marina or operate as a rental.

It's really nice inside and has a vaulted church ceiling.

Note the gothic doors and stained glass windows. I don't care for the black theater recliner seating, they're too bulky and casual for this lovely space.

so where we left off, june and steve had moved to the bay area to be closer to erica, but also out in the countryside where life is a bit more peaceful 💖 june I think is still commuting to the city, but steve is a stay-at-home dad and quit working at the blue velvet, but in my mind he teaches piano lessons from home a bit

adelaide started at high school and made some friends

then, on the weekend they decided to take a family trip out to the lighthouse together, just to celebrate moving and to get to know the area a bit more. adelaide and elijah went up to the viewing area at the top and took some goofy pictures for grandma

and meanwhile, steve and june explored to beach together, and steve finally proposed :>

and then they told the kids who were super excited, and then went to erica's to break the news shes been waiting like 15 years to hear lmao

as a side note, steve quit smoking (FINALLY)

so congratulations to him I guess

june and him then decided they wanted to go and surprise their friends in the city with news of their engagement, but adelaide gave them grief about having to stay and babysit elijah ☠

(sadly I have no photos of them telling their friends) but when they were back they did some cake tasting in town

landon also came over one night to watch a movie with adelaide, but he decided to take things further

fast forwarding a bit but I also threw a bachelor party for steve, the day before the wedding

and then finally, the big day arrived (and you can imagine my stress, I even built an entire venue for it LMAO) the bridesmaids and june all gathered there earlier to get ready

and steve and elijah arrived later with erica to finish setting up, and he had him set the tables

adie didn't help at all she just came down to cause mischief and steal strawberries

and then finally the ceremony, and some of my favourite photos ive ever taken at a sims wedding

the parkinson / flint wedding ( promised to be the event of the season by witch weekly way back at the very start of the year ) has been a long time coming, and no one wishes more than pansy & marcus that it had kept coming ! arranged by their parents some years ago as a way of both bolstering marcus in public opinion after a disastrous media run and ensuring that heath parkinson's daughter was no longer living on his dime, preparations for their special day have taken years. everything from the overall theme to the location to the people that are making up the wedding parties has changed a hundred times over in the time it's taken to get them to this day, but here we are, and here they are on december 25th, 2024.

held at a POPULAR wixen venue just outside of ilkley, cheshire, the couple have cleanly avoided any temptation they may have had to inject some christmas cheer into their special day by giving strict instruction to the organisers to keep the snow and the cold snap at bay. stepping into the lantern & candlelit woods is like stepping into another world; the temperature is kept toasty enough for guests to walk around barearmed thanks to several powerful charms operating around the area, and the woodlands themselves are untouched by the snow that settles on the outskirts of them. wander too far off the beaten track and you will, of course, wander out of the range of all the protective magic being employed - but with so much to enjoy right there, why would anyone want to wander ?

guests are welcome to grab an espresso martini - the first of several wedding favors that also include personalised matchbooks, a strip of photos from an old style booth and bubbles to blow as the happy couple walk back down the aisle, arm in arm - as soon as they arrive, and are invited to mill around the dinner and ballroom areas until it comes to time to take their seat by the aisle. the orchestral band hired for the start of the event will be playing covers of popular love songs - wix and muggle alike - for now, and leaving sometime after the ceremony concludes to make way for the dj, a popular witch you might recognise from her stints at amortentia. a four course meal will be served promptly at 6, with the five tier cake decorated with flowers and foliage not nearly as exciting for everyone involved as the champagne tower that'll be filled, sometime after. all in all, it's set to be a traditional wixen ceremony with a traditional sort of afters, though anyone who knows pansy and marcus knows that the likelihood of everything being exactly as it seems is slim !

OUT OF CHARACTER:

we delayed for some very good reasons, but it's finally time for the wedding of the season ! with lucius malfoy's death earlier this year ( in our season two finale ), i always figured we'd have to take our first ever break from the malfoy family ball, and the parkinson & flint wedding has been in the works for a good long while, so what a good replacement it makes ! once complete, we'll be transitioning into 2025, and i've got a couple things up my sleeve before our five year anniversary period ! <3

this event will begin tonight, the 10th of january and run for two weeks, bringing us up to the 24th ! it'll be run in two parts, with the transition to the afters happening after a week - you'll have to keep an eye out for that post ! in character, it's taking place on december 25th !

no character is actually required to attend the wedding, nor are you yourself required to take part, but everyone's encouraged to find a reason to be there ! whether they'd have actually gotten an invite of their own isn't really that important, since it can be assumed that a lot of invites went out at random and there's always the option of coming as a plus one !

like our bach parties, this event will run both on discord & dash, just to make it a bit easier for people to take part since we're currently in what i always consider a busy period ! any posts going onto the dash should be tagged with nox.event046, and the location for anyone who tags it is ilkley, cheshire.

Georgia and Eli were best friends, were (are) in love with each other, dated for years... but broke up.... and they just happen to share a mutual best friend, Adam. When Adam's wedding looming between them and both of them are best man/woman.... they'll have to find a way to spend a week together. Yet Adam's wedding is one disaster after another, from their DJ getting food poisoning, to the wedding venue catching on fire, its up to Eli and Georgia to now save Adam's wedding but in the process finally face their feelings and why their relationship went wrong.... and how their feelings for each other are still very much the same. Eli and Georgia have loved each other for so long, they are best friends, perfect... but when things went wrong Georgia promised herself that she won't break her rules again and that she'll guard her heart from Eli a second time yet this new Eli is back and he's determined to break all her rules and get her to see that he's never going to let her go if she gives him a second chance. Can they save Adam's wedding and repair their relationship by the time the wedding is over? This was such a beautiful and sweet second chance romance. I loved how real both Eli and Georgia felt, how their insecurities and their relationship falling apart is so understandable yet their love for one another and willingness to communicate and face their feelings was so well done. I truly had such a great time reading this and as a fan of Jessica Joyce's writing, this book absolutely hit it out of the park. I am not even the biggest fan of second chance romances but this one completely captured my heart. I would highly recommend this book to anyone who loves a good romance book!

There was activity in a loft space above the big bay where the trucks lived. Her new firefighter friend motioned her to come in. She saw two figures detach from a group up there and come down the stairs — it was Christopher’s dads, both in short-sleeved navy blue firefighter’s uniforms.

Oh sweet Lord have mercy, they’re both so hot.

She harrumphed and put on her best public-relations face.

“Hi,” one of them said; Buckley, by his nametag. 

“Um, hello, my name is Cecily Schuler, I work for the Los Angeles Zoo.”

Both their eyebrows went up. “Oh! Um, okay,” Diaz said. “How can we help you? If you want to have an LAFD event at the zoo, we don’t really handle that at the station level.”

“No, this is…about you two, specifically. Is there somewhere we can talk?”

“Sure,” Buckley said, leading her to a small sitting area next to a currently-deserted weight room. She glanced up at the loft, which seemed to be the gathering/living space; Buckley noticed her looking. “Best not go up there unless you want a bunch of nosy firefighters listening in.”

“Oh, okay,” she said, taking a seat. The dads sat down next to each other on a padded bench. Oh my God, their thighs. Be professional. “So the other day, I got a call from a young man named Christopher.”

Their reactions were amusing. Diaz’s face went directly to Oh Lord, what did he do while Buckley’s went to Oh my gosh, that’s awesome. “He called you?” Buckley said.

“Come on, Eddie,” Buckley said. “I think it’s cute. He’s probably sick of hearing us talk about it, God knows I’m sick of talking about it. And it is a pretty great idea, you gotta admit. Besides, it demonstrates initiative! Life skills! Those things we’re always trying to make sure he has!”

“If I may, your son was very confident with me. And he seemed very eager that his dads should have the wedding they want.”

Very expensive 2011 home in Homer, Alaska has 7bd. 12ba. $8.5M. A lot of people (it accommodates 30) can live here together and be amused by the whimsy in this house. Take a look.

There’s room for observing the view, but it has to remembered that these are summer pictures. I don’t know what Alaska’s long, harsh dark winters would bring.

The description says that it could be a venue, like a destination wedding, but it doesn’t say that the furnishings come with it.

What you’re seeing is Kachemak Bay, which supposedly has beach access.
