You wake with a start, barely realizing you had even fallen asleep to begin with. The nightmare you had is scattered and fuzzy, and you're left feeling that the nightmare wasn't entirely your own.

More importantly, it seems you've woken in a different place than you fell asleep- you can see two Pokemon having an- apparently heated- discussion a little ways down the shore from you.

Prince goes quiet to think for a few moments. He stares off into space, looking for the answer to his unspoken question. A huff from the Sprigatito’s nose breaks the silence between himself and the Darkrai. He appears composed, but there’s a sense that something is off. Prince returns his gaze to Vanta, and despite the silence he still has a bit of his perky attitude.

Prince: "It’s really, really important to me. I wear it everywhere I go.”

The Sprigatito pauses again, though it's much shorter. He looks back up to the Darkrai again, and in that moment a little twinkle returns to his eyes.

Prince: "Anyway, you have a good eye for treasure...! A necklace from the moon sounds WAY cooler, anyway. That's a lot of fun stories you can tell about a gifted necklace from the moon. I think if you ever wanna tell the story about your treasure, I would LOVE to hear it!"

Alright so I was given news on Monarch's state. He's better now but he's gonna have to keep away from battling for like.. the entire summer if he wants to still have the strength and ability for it. And he's prone to sleeping randomly without notice now...

At least I know I can reunite with him soon..

Anyway. lore for the Occasionally-pokkemon Askblog Cinematic Universe:

Echi, the original Darkrai, I have actually posted before, but they look like this:

Her first four 'Children' are an embodiment of the fear of four things: War, Death, Famine, and Pestilence.

The type of a Darkrai is affected by the fear the embody, and some Darkrai are a 'stronger' embodiment of that fear than others.

Example 1:

War is Dark/Fighting, Death is Dark/Ghost, Famine is Dark/Ice, and Pestilence is Dark/Poison.

Example 2:

Vanta (of Darkvoid-Sun) is ALSO made out of a fear of Death, as is Phobia (SweetDreamsCafe) to an extent. Weakest to Strongest is

Vanta -> Phobia -> Death

This is about how MUCH fear was used to create the Darkrai; though they also get stronger the MORE fear they spread. Phobia was once on Vanta's level, but is now not that far off from Death's.

Since Death was the FIRST Darkrai to embody a fear of death, ALL fear of death was used to make them, making them verrry strong. Vanta, on the other hand, was create from a spike of fear of death when the Ultimate Weapon was activated for the second time in Kalos. He became stronger after SOMETHING coughcough though, and is now above average but still weaker than Phobia.

The stronger a Darkrai is/becomes, the more they will resemble Echi (not including coloration.) See: Vanta Vs Phobia

Phobia is actually the closest to Echi out of any Darkrai in WHAT they embodies a fear of: Everything.

Phobia IS an embodiment of fear, straight up, but has a slight leaning towards death related fear (fear of ghosts, dying, etc). This slight limitation paired with Phobia's connection to Halloween meaning they only appear for a brief portion of the year is really the only reason they aren't stronger than All Darkrai other than Echi themselves.

Anyways, let me just.. rewrite my post about the battle pokemon, I'll be back.

How can I even explain that legendaries are somewhat of a natural occurrence here to people- This is.. frustrating at best.

Pokkén Tournament, picchiaduro frutto dalla collaborazione tra The Pokémon Company e Bandai Namco, arriva anche su Nintendo Switch con una versione un po’ più completa ma dedicata esclusivamente a chi non l’ha giocato sulla vecchia home console di Nintendo!

Introduzione

Avendo già provato e recensito (qui) questo fantastico picchiaduro su Nintendo Wii U, sorvoleremo su alcuni punti fondamentali del gioco per invece concentrarci sulle novità offerte da questa versione DX in arrivo su Nintendo Switch.

Iniziamo brevemente con il dire che Pokkén si presenta così come si era presentato su Wii U, con un gameplay fresco e intuitivo, basato sulle già conosciute due fasi di combattimento (fase panoramica e fase duello) e sul celebre Triangolo degli Attacchi. Su Nintendo Switch possiamo apprezzare ancor di più lo splendido lavoro svolto dagli sviluppatori nel dare vita ai pokémon, tutti completamente diversi nei movimenti, nelle mosse ma anche nei particolari grafici grazie alle texture più definite. Ogni pokémon presente nel gioco è sviluppato per combattere secondo la propria forma e la propria dimensione.

Anche qui, l’allenatrice con gli occhiali, Nia, vi accoglierà in-game facendovi da guida e illustrandovi i tanti punti principali della mappa di Ferrum, che troverete ingrandita su Nintendo Switch con due nuovi punti salienti: Lotta wireless e Sfida giornaliera!

Modalità di gioco

Le modalità di questa versione DX sono le seguenti: La tua città – Borgo Vecchio di Ferrum, qui possiamo trovare tutte le impostazioni di gioco oltre che personalizzare il nostro allenatore con centinaia di vestiti più o meno sobri (potremo cambiare anche l’abbigliamento della nostra Nia), personalizzare il nostro pokémon partner e i pokémon di supporto; Lega Ferrum – Stadio Ferrum, qui il nostro allenatore dovrà vedersela con altri allenatori gestiti dalla CPU e scalare la classifica per accedere alle 4 classi successive della lega tutte con differente difficoltà (Lega Verde, Blu, Rossa e Lega Croma). In questa modalità è presenta una piccolissima parte di trama; Lotta in singolo – Telluria, in questa parte della mappa possiamo lottare contro la CPU in combattimenti con regole scelte da noi in tre diverse lotte: Lotta Base, Lotta Extra e l’inedita Lotta a Squadre, con tre diversi pokémon in squadra (molto Tekken); Lotta in locale – Isola di Selene, l’isola della regione di Ferrum è riservata alle lotte in locale contro i nostri amici, assicuratevi di avere due controller (ovviamente potrete usare anche un Joy-Con a testa). La cosa interessante è che potrete scegliere se dividere lo schermo in split-screen o no, seconda opzione molto più interessante. Anche qui sono disponibili tre tipi di lotte; In Lotta online – Neos City, la console si connetterà immediatamente in internet così da poter competere con allenatori/giocatori di tutto il mondo in due diversi tipi di lotte. Potrete infine anche entrare a far parte di un gruppo o crearne uno tutto vostro! Un’altra novità è quella dei replay, infatti subito dopo un combattimento, il replay di quest’ultimo sarà caricato in rete e potrà essere guardato da tutti; Allenamento – Techne City è la dimora di Nia, la palestra di allenamento è dedicata a tutti i nuovi allenatori che vogliono imparare bene a combattere, consigliamo a tutti i nuovi combattenti di iniziare da qui e di completare il super tutorial che la nostra guida ci mostrerà; Lotta wireless – Spiaggia di Thalia è la nuova modalità di gioco in cui potrete giocare con i vostri amici nelle vicinanze sfruttando la comunicazione locale del Nintendo Switch! La Sfida giornaliera – Casa stregata consisterà nell’affrontare alcune sfide diverse ogni giorno con pokémon differenti. Completando una di queste sfide riceverete dei punti abilità.

  Più pokémon, ma mai abbastanza

Pokkén Tournament DX vanta un roster leggermente più amplio visto su Nintendo Wii U che oltre ai già rodati 14 mostriciattoli tascabili disponibili (Blaziken, Lucario, Gardevoir, Pikachu, Pikachu Wrestler, Sceptile, Gengar, Machamp, Braixen, Chandelure, Suicune, Weavile, Mewtwo, Mewtwo Nero, Charizard e Garchomp) troveremo l’oscuro Darkrai, lo Scizor rosso, l’imponente Empoleon e il piccolo Croagunk presi direttamente dal cabinato coin-op presente in Giappone. Infatti, la vera aggiunta è quella del vigoroso Decidueye!

Considerando anche la Settima Generazione Pokémon (attualmente ancora in sviluppo) i 21 combattenti proposti sono ancora molto pochi. Anche limitando il roster dei personaggi ai soli pokémon di Tipo Lotta, magari tagliando fuori anche quelli meno famosi, avremmo avuto tra le mani un titolo con un listone di combattenti davvero niente male con centinaia di pokémon tutti diversi tra loro!

Novità anche per i pokémon di supporto, coppia di PK che aiuteranno il vostro pokémon principale a vincere la lotta, che vedono esordire le due stars di Sole e Luna, Litten e Popplio! Anche i livelli in cui lottare hanno subito qualche piccola aggiunta che ora si differenziano in ben 20 mappe disponibili da subito!

Squadra vincente, non si cambia

Come abbiamo detto, gameplay e sistema di combattimento sono, ovviamente, gli stessi di quelli visti su Nintendo Wii U. Il combattimento è paragonabile allo schema “sasso, carta, forbice” (rispettivamente attacchi di base, contrattacchi e prese) che risulta semplice e intuitivo da imparare. Imparando per bene il Triangolo degli Attacchi, la Lega Ferrum risulterà una passeggiata.

Il gioco è compatibile anche con gli amiibo dei Pokémon già usciti che vi regaleranno titoli e accessori per il vostro allenatore. Infine, il bellissimo Pokkén Controller è compatibile con Pokkén Tournament DX per Nintendo Switch anche se andrà a sacrificare l’ottimo utilizzo dell’HD Rumble visto con i Joy-Cons e con il Pro Controller, ma regalerà al gioco un contorno retrò, da cabinato coin-op!

  Conclusioni

Con Pokkén Tournament DX, finalmente Nintendo inizia un percorso di retro-compatibilità con alcuni accessori della passata generazione lasciati già troppo a lungo nella polvere, a discapito però di alcune features importanti (come la mitica vibrazione) presenti nei nuovi accessori. Il nuovo Pokkén si presenta visivamente più pulito (con una risoluzione fissa a 1280x720p contro i 960×720p della versione Wii U) e incredibilmente affascinante se giocato in modalità portatile o tablet con 60 fps quasi sempre granitici! I piccoli controller fanno tranquillamente il loro lavoro, l’HD Rumble altrettanto, ma non nascondiamo di aver preferito rispolverare il vecchio Pokkén Controller e collegarlo tramite USB al dock Switch per giocare in modalità TV.

Il prezzo del gioco, ben €60, è stato un contro su Nintendo Wii U e lo sarà sicuramente anche su Nintendo Switch. Il sempre più citato da noi “sconto fedeltà” è anche qui negato ai fedelissimi Nintendo (ci riferiamo, in questo caso, a chi aveva già acquistato questo titolo su Nintendo Wii U), quindi perché riacquistalo a prezzo pieno anche su Nintendo Switch? Basterebbe accendere di nuovo la vecchia console, impugnare lo scomodo paddone (o meglio il mitico Pokkén Controller), inserire il disco e via! Pagando la cifra di €0. Addirittura in Giappone si può tranquillamente andare in una qualsiasi sala giochi e spendendo un semplice gettone per giocare a Pokkén. La “Nintendo Difference” era anche questo, fare quello che gli altri non fanno, distinguersi dalla massa, e quindi regalare una parte del gioco a chi lo possiede già così da invogliare l’acquisto, nuovamente, dello stesso.

Pokkén Tournament DX rimane comunque uno dei migliori picchiaduro degli ultimi tempi ma, questa volta, consigliato solo ai nuovi giocatori che non hanno mai provato il titolo su Nintendo Wii U. Riproporre Pokkén su Switch per cercare maggior fortuna è una mossa saggia che però poteva essere migliorata con un piccolo incentivo all’acquisto del gioco anche per chi lo ha su Wii U, certo giocare a Pokkén in modalità portatile è ineguagliabile, ma se abbiamo preferito un accessorio Wii U ad una feature Switch come l’HD Rumble un motivo ci sarà.

Sicuramente, chi possiede già il gioco sulla vecchia home console Nintendo aspetterà uno sconto per farlo suo anche su Nintendo Switch, ma chi non lo ha mai provato non deve sprecare altri minuti e pre-ordinarlo all’istante o acquistarlo dal rivenditore di fiducia!

RECENSIONE: Pokkén Tournament DX – Switch Pokkén Tournament, picchiaduro frutto dalla collaborazione tra The Pokémon Company e Bandai Namco, arriva anche su Nintendo Switch con una versione un po' più completa ma dedicata esclusivamente a chi non l’ha giocato sulla vecchia…

Hokulani might not have any concern revolving their respective roles, but it seems that Vanta does, electing to 'politely' exit the conversation before it can go any further by melting into the shadows leaving no trace they were there to begin with.

Prince stands on Maria's back as she speaks with the Darkrai and waves to Vanta. He smiles to them and squeaks out a little, "Hi." Meanwhile, Maria holds her paw out, bearing a small golden coin.

“Whether a market accepts coin or trade varies from seller to seller. For individuals or small families, either method of payment would likely be accepted; Using coin or trading an item of equal value can often mean the same! For example, a specially-cooked food item traded for numerous food goods such as berries or vegetables would be considered equal. Note, though, that the seller reserves the right to decide what trade is considered fair. Alternatively, simply using coin would often mean just the same for those families or individuals."

Maria: “As for larger markets or shops, much of what you see along the main streets of Mezagosa or Levincia, they will only accept coin. Maybe you’d get lucky to find a seller there that would be willing to trade, but finding something of value to trade with them would be a feat in itself!”

"If you are looking to purchase something from the region or if you are in need of supplies, I am certain you would be able to find something to trade if you do not already possess it. Many Pokémon help cultivate the land to keep a cycle of life running."

((For those with a keen eye, the coin looks a /lot/ like a Gimmighoul coin- this is intentional! These coins serve a different purpose in this Paldea, and look a little different. The square hole is designed to save on material used to create the coin. These aren't necessarily "Gimmighoul coins taken and repurposed", this is what the currency looks like! Gimmighouls collect what would be the equivalent of "loose change", and when hording enough, they would evolve into Goldhengo, as in the games.

Regarding the last part Maria mentioned- this is a nod to random items found on the ground in Scarlet & Violet. However, lore-speaking, things don't randomly fall on the ground- but rather nearby societies, whether towns or personal communities (Refer to this last post for more details on that!), work to keep the land fertile. That way, berries are always growing, trees are always present, and resources are natural to the lands.

Some personal communities would be upset at someone trying to take their resources, but some are willing to trade as well.

TLDR: The economy of this Paldea is very robust and flexible for what the people need!))

This is Vanta.. Sanctum is writing what I am communicating to it.

Tonight I've seen Riv, my friend, on the couch, they have lacked the rest for quite a while.. I saw the other human, R.J., sit next to them.

I overheard their conversation and felt the presence of a sacred item.

Firstly.. Riv was sitting on the couch, muttering things. They do not look well.

Secondly, Ms. R.J. approached, asked Riv what was wrong.. They opened up for once. A miracle.

They recounted an event that had occured four years ago, and the events of early in the summer season. Monarch fought with bravery in both of these events, I remember his nod towards Riv. But then...

R.J. told them the truth. She gave them the truth in their hand.

'Monarch's dying.'

The Darkrai from that.. Synergy Cadre team has done huge amounts of damage towards Monarch.

I.. saw tears.. Forming. Their hand shaking. A dead silence took over.. They closed their hand and held the feather tightly and closed to their chest. Crying.

I realized that my friend has been stuck in the past.. I am their friend.

I want to help. We must fight back, no more holding back.
