the magic school bus? not real. miss frizzle’s field trips? all in your head.

eight kids on a school bus field trip get into a crash on their way to their destination and fall into a nine month coma — or so they’re told. they don’t question it when they wake up in the hospital and are told as such.

years later, these kids start realizing their stories are matching up, their teacher is reappearing in town, and perhaps the magic school bus is real. the questions now are what really happened that day, who’s trying to keep the truth from them, and why.

- 00:30 and I have school tomorrow. Been working this evening on some stuff to get caught up before class starts again, and I was stumbling around to my room to lay down after a long traumatising D&D session before I had a lightbulb flicker faintly, when I got reminded of a fanfiction I started to design exactly a year and 3 days ago.

The Frizzles, but behind the scenes of the series, from before, during, and after, but it's the story of Val (at 17) and Fiona (at 9) and how they created the Bus during the Gizmos That Go competition, the story on what happened to Fiona while the original series started, and some slice of life from when Val was teaching, the school things, the home life, personal life, all that. The story of Fiona and Val reconnecting and Fiona leading the class, how they interact with their cousins more often, the story of some of Val's adventures.

How they both come out as queer, and their romantic life.

How the kids in the classes communicate outside of class.

It's a story of science, slice of life, and some romance/drama. But I can't wait to tell it.
