I was walking on a rather remote beach when I came upon this Whip eel drying up in the sun. These are intertidal eels that can actually handle themselves out of water for a bit, but it’s not normal for them to be fully exposed in direct sunlight like this. The tide was at least six hours from coming in and I felt like this eel was in distress, so I made the decision to dig him out and return to the ocean. His body was too delicate to be simply pulled from the hole without injury, so I got to digging.

This endeavor took about 40 minutes as the eel was quite long and difficult to excavate. Also had to continually refill my temporary eel pond to keep him from drying out entirely while I worked.

the funniest meltdown ive ever had was in college when i got so overstimulated that i could Not speak, including over text. one of my friends was trying to talk me through it but i was solely using emojis because they were easier than trying to come up with words so he started using primarily emojis as well just to make things feel balanced. this was not the Most effective strategy... until. he tried to ask me "you okay?" but the way he chose to do that was by sending "👉🏼👌🏼❓" and i was so shocked by suddenly being asked if i was dtf that i was like WHAT???? WHAT DID YOU JUST SAY TO ME?????????? and thus was verbal again

so much happened in this whole episode but i’m still on fig infiltrating ruben’s dream, making it look like the place where his friend was murdered, and then disguising herself as kipperlilly & repeatedly saying different variants of “somebody needs to take the fall for this, and it’s not going to be me. it’s going to be you.” while adaine as the elven oracle shows up next to her. can you imagine waking up from that, the idea of a horrible truth being pinned on you by your friend to save her own skin while the personification of fate and destiny stands there, almost as a promise that this is GOING to happen to you. we don’t even know if this kid is guilty. my god.

Danny is from a world where everyone has wings, even if most have long since lost the ability to fly. Something about loading and aspect ratio, wings being too small, body too heavy, now mostly used as display, whatever. 

It doesn’t matter even if he had blueprints from when he was like six of a jetpack to help fly. It won’t work anyway and hey, he has his ghost form! Which uh, might be perhaps, affecting his wings which were maybe sort of scorched black and practically down to the bone thanks to the accident. 

It doesn’t matter, he swears. Though he’s admittedly relieved to see the new feathers growing in are different from Dan’s angry sunset. Even if they’re not even supposed to be able to grow back. Alright, this is fine, no one is going to notice! It’s not like everyone knows about the poor Fenton kid whose wings were absolutely destroyed thanks to an accident! It���s fine. 

He’s not flying in a half-panic towards the Far Frozen while crying because his wings are coming back and he’s so scared. He didn’t panic and instantly fled the moment Jazz pointed them out while changing the bandages. 

He definitely didn’t trip over something while wiping away said tears and blacking out from all the stress and all of his problems that he definitely mentioned to someone and isn’t keeping a secret. Definitely. 

Hawkwoman and Hawkman would like everyone to know that neither of them were expecting a very small child to be spat out of the villain of that week’s machine that should definitely not be a portal. A very small child, maybe nine or ten, with a multitude of concerning wounds both old and fresh. Which isn’t even beginning to touch on the wings. 

Feathered, like baby down despite the gnarled scars, unlike their own metallic, with the beginning of tiny specklings like stars amidst the darker fuzz peeking from the wounded flesh. 

Who?! Who dared?! It’s (at least to the forever reincarnating duo) a literal baby! They still have down! Tiny baby fuzz! Was it the portal?! Oh this villain is going to taste their maces for causing this if that’s the case! 

The rest of the Justice League would honestly like to know what just happened and are honestly unsure on if they should stop the two…

ponzu had an elective c-section yesterday 6/17, so she has been groggy and, frankly, a bit scared of the puppies since we got home. we’ve been able to get them nursing without much trouble, but she definitely hasn’t enjoyed the experience. just now as i score AP lang essays in the wee hours, she went in the box on her own to sit and admire them. she didn’t nurse them on her own yet, but she made an attempt to potty them and wagged her tail sweetly when they cried. as some of you know, ponzu has helped with neonate kittens and been a good nanny to young puppies in the past, but it’s a different story when they want to nurse on your sliced up belly! poor sauce. i so wanted to avoid putting her under the knife, but she’s doing well and coming around quick.

Assume ideal conditions. 'Robot body' is loosely defined and can mean whatever you want it to mean. Inside a computer? Sure. Fully articulated android body? Yeah. A toaster? Why not? The idea is that it's a fully mechanical/robotic body, whatever that means is up to you.

Something’s Wrong: Mikey’s POV…

Mikey was unfortunately one of the last to notice — and even then, he doesn’t really think it’s anything super serious. He’s only worried that Leon might be a little self conscious about his hoard, especially if his dragon mind is incorrectly categorizing bats as the same as birds. He’d NEVER hear the end of it from Donnie, and that’s a very valid reason to be wary!

But, one of Mikey’s major goals in life is to make sure his family is happy and comfortable! Whether Leo is willing to talk about it now or not (though Dr. Feelings WILL get him to talk about it eventually, and that is a threat), he shouldn’t feel like he has to hide it!

how does one go on knowing that simon was letting go of the love of his life (him begging to keep fighting, heartbeats labored and painful with sorrow) because they were good, but there was no place for them in this kind of life. that simon was letting go of wille's hand aware that his wille would keep drowning in the murky sticky waters of the crown prince's hurt, but having to take the risk anyway, to give them both the chance to swim to the surface. that, despite the agony like glass shards with every breath, he had the resolution to give them up, and wille the maturity to accept it.

and that in the end the only thing left for simon to do, if he wasn't allowed to have wille's handsome face in his life, was to make sure, tenderly, that even the tips of his fingers remembered it.
