A Milkshake and A Night Under The Stars (UT!Tenebris x GN!Reader)

This was slightly inspired by valentinax3's ask about making a deal with Tenebris. Enjoy!

"What is this one?"

"It's a chocolate milkshake. You drink it through this straw. The little tube poking out at the top," you explain to the creature eyeing the cup in your hand. "Wanna try it?"

As one arm reaches out, it morphs into a human one so it can easily grab the treat you've brought him. He hesitates as he brings it to his face and leans in to sniff it. He must not find anything suspicious because quickly after, he sips from the straw.

"Do you like it?"

The many eyes light up with delight. You've seen them do that every time you presented him with a new type of sweet treat. Each time, you find it very cute. Something so big and scary is obsessed with sweets.

"It's good. Very sweet, just like the rest. But I'm beginning to discern between them... What will we do in exchange for it?"

Some time ago, you'd made a deal with "the monster in the forest." You'd bring him the sweets he'd grown so fond of and in exchange, he'd let you get to know him. It was a deal that had perplexed him at first. He couldn't see why you'd want such a thing. Yet he'd accepted nonetheless.

"Since it's nighttime and the sky is clear, I was thinking we could stargaze."

"Very well. I appreciate that this one does not involve other humans."

He brings the straw back to his mouth. You watch the contents of the cup being drained at an impressive speed. Within mere seconds, it's empty. He hands it back to you and you store it away in your backpack.

"I mean, I was thinking we could do it from the top of one of the buildings in the city. The forest is kinda dense for it," you explain.

Half a dozen eyes narrow at you. "No. There is a large clearing deeper in. We're going there, where it is quiet and dark. Your loud vehicles and blinding lights would no longer bother us."

Under different circumstances, going deep into the forest with a monster would be a terrible idea. But if he wanted to harm you, he would've done it many times by now. So you take the risk.

"Okay, fair enough. How do we get there?"

He turns his back to you, then crouches down. "It will be too slow if I let you walk. Get on my back."

You pause, caught by surprise. He's never allowed you to touch him this much before. When you'd tried, he'd move away or snarl at you. Still, you aren't about to refuse the offer. You climb on and wrap your arms around his neck.

His skin is cold, but his hair feels soft as it brushes against your cheek. He smells like grass and honey. The lizard tail and his hunched position help keep you in place once he takes off.

You now see why he suggested you'd be slow. It wasn't an insult, it was a fact when you compared it to the speed he was running at. He wasn't only fast. He was also agile. You never once got smacked by any branches or bushes.

"Am I heavy?" you ask.

"Heavy? You come nowhere close to it. Not to me, at least."

You're not sure if even ten minutes have passed before he comes to a stop and lowers himself again to put you down.

The clearing he spoke of is indeed big. The stars are much more beautiful here, compared to the city. They look like glitter spread over dark fabric. You can't help but smile looking at it.

"You're right. This is much better."

He huffs as he plops down onto the grass with a loud thud. "Of course I am."

You suppress a chuckle and join him.

You'd noticed earlier, but now you have time to inspect him properly. He's dressed up. An intricate necklace resembling golden branches with precious stones instead of fruits hangs over his chest. A similar golden arm band matches one around his tail. And he's wearing pants. Something he didn't do the first time you'd met him in this form. He'd kept in mind you weren't a fan of complete nudity.

Three eyes shift to look at you questioningly. "I thought we came here to look at stars. Why are you staring at me?"

"Sorry, I was just thinking you look nice."

The eyes widen, then quickly look away. You get the impression he's flustered.

"Shouldn't this form frighten you? Why do you always ask me to stick to it instead of the human ones?"

"I like it. And you said the human form takes effort to maintain. I want you to be comfortable," you respond.

He only lets out a grunt and reverts his attention to the sky. You do the same.

You don't know a lot about stars. He does. So you ask a lot of questions. He answers each one without complaint. And when you both lay on your backs to get a better view and you scooch a little closer until your shoulders touch, he doesn't push you away.

It's pleasant. You feel oddly at peace. His voice is deep but soothing. Accompanied by the sounds of crickets and frogs, it begins to lull you to sleep. Your eyelids become heavy. As they close and you drift off to a land of dreams, you feel something brushing away a few strands of hair from your face.

Mary's a lover, yes. But he's more animalistic in his ways of expressing it. Doggy style -or your back pushed up against the wall while he thrusts into you- is certainly his favorite of positions. "You think?" You grin, snarky tone but joking. He chuckles, finishing what he was saying.

"I'd like to go slow. I, I wanna go slow. But I don't got a lot of self control, sweets. You gotta direct me a bit, don't let me overdo it." His voice is low and sweet. He's being so vulnerable with you it almost hurts-- your heart squeezes in your chest. Damn, you love him. A shit ton.

"Okay, baby." You smile, pulling him down onto you for a kiss. "I'll help you, just, try and grow a little patience." He smiles softly, giving you another peck on the lips.

— mikey was born and raised in winnipeg because i think it’s funny when characters are from winnipeg. if you’re from winnipeg i’m so sorry. definitely was born on the coldest day of that year ( so like some point in january )

— but because of those long, cold harsh winters, mikey found himself in a dance studio a lot. his aunt was a dance teacher and with rather absent parents who meant well but both had long hours at the local hospital, he spent a lot of time with her. he fell in love with dance pretty early on, always having a certain fluidity and grace even when he was young.

— random but he also played hockey up until he was like 16 or whatever because he’s canadian and i’m not stupid. it happened. he can still skate tho. in a slightly different life he probably would have been a pretty good figure skater huh 🤔🤔🤔 but anyway...

— also feel like it makes sense that he did gymnastics. and trained in classical ballet.

— he went to university of toronto for college, studying kinesology and dance, and danced at one of the prestigious studios in the city.

— his big break moment was when in his sophomore year at ut, he made it onto the second season of world of dance in early 2017 ( lets pretend that show has been on longer than it has bc i don’t want it to be the first season of it sldk ). he made it all the way to the finals and quickly become a fan favorite along the way. though he ultimately placed second and missed out on the million dollars, that was the beginning of many doors opening for him. ( for those who, might have the vaguest clue what i’m talking about : i’m highkey feeling like, michael dameski style which is an idea i had after i named him michael so don’t @ me for him having the same first name ).

— millions watched that show, including some prominent agents and scouts who were able to help him launch a professional dance career : something he never thought he’d see himself actually doing. his first big gig was making the dance team for some singer’s north american tour, and he ended up not returning to ut to pursue a professional dance career full time. since then he’s danced in a few music videos for some uber famous musican ( same one he went on tour with or not idk ?? also a wc ?? maybe ?? ), a tv show, couple movies, and other various gigs around the city. he works part time at a studio when he has time, and has been honing his choreography skills as well.

— he makes enough dancing, but certainly not enough to make him RICH. no, that come from an impromptu vlog he did while on tour with aforementioned singer. having already garnered a following from world of dance, he soon rose to youtube fame as well, something he never could have predicted. i feel like his videos are very just, day in a life with various random challenges mixed in, and various workout and flexibility tips. he also still does pieces and duets with other prominent dancers just for fun too. his natural charisma and attitude really just carries him through easily lmao.

— mikey developed a bit of a habit of sleeping around when he left for college, all the newfound freedom was just intoxicating and well. he was hot so. it wasn’t like it was hard alsdkjf. that stuck around well into his blossoming dance career. nothing that was enough to be scandalous, but he made his way around. and then a year and a half into this unforeseen new life, he met matthew glass.

— he’d had a couple serious relationships before, one in high school, one his freshman year of college but neither of them could hold a flame to what he felt when he was with matt. perfection wasn’t something mikey believed in, but he almost did with what they had.

— it was like for over a year and a half he lived in this insane dream, and then mikey and matt broke up and he was devastated ( behind closed doors and with curtains pulled tightly shut ).

— he then proceeded to broadcast how perfectly fine he was doing by going back to his old ways and sleeping around obsessively, this time with very little regard as to how many headlines he was making. as far as coping mechanisms go, i guess sex is better than alcohol ?? not to say he wasn’t also drunk at times l o l.

— live in the moment kind of dude. his motto is probably like : you just gotta know what you want to do next. i mean looking back on his life it’s been pretty crazy and that’s only solidified his outlook that like, you really can’t control too much. just let it go where it takes you.

— people do like him though and they like talking to him for whatever reason. generally has pretty trustworthy vibes but he’s more slippery than he comes across. he’s a selfish person at heart and always has his own best interests in mind, even if it doesn’t seem that way at first.

36 & 50! I’m very interested about your process for writing Walls. Did you have it all planned out before you started writing it or did it just start coming together along the way?

36. what is your writing process like?

I guess I’ll talk about Walls specifically, though its process can be generalized for the most part to other fics I work on.

for Walls, it started out with me wanting a slow burn Papyton fic, nothing more and nothing less. it was gonna be mostly fluff at that time. I had little to no plans for angst. at that point, everything was just “Papyrus and Mettaton don’t know each other at the beginning of the fic, but by the end I want them to end up together in a healthy relationship.”

that was all I had when I wrote chapter 1.

by chapter 2, I knew I needed some kind of conflict to keep the story interesting, so I thought logically--what happens in UT that could still serve as conflict a year later? well, Mettaton pretty much abandoned his family and Alphys, did he not? there would probably be some lingering negative feelings there. and maybe Mettaton feels bad about it, but he’s the type to just ignore reminders of the past (as shown when he ignores the key from Catty and Bratty’s shop when you use it in battle), so he’d probably be doing something to distract himself, right? why couldn’t his work be that distraction? so I had the beginnings of that plot point.

it was between chapters 2 and 3 that what is now Mettaton’s main plot was born.

even before I had written the first chapter, I had been having repressed memories of my childhood coming back, that involved being sexually abused. I wasn’t seeing a therapist at the time so it was a lot to deal with by myself. after I wrote chapter 2 of Walls, I started to wonder if writing couldn’t be a way to cope. I didn’t have much of a plan yet, so in chapter 3 I just added some implications of the past for Mettaton (and mind you, Devon as a character was not a thing at this point).

it was around this time that I liked the Handplates skelebros comic and took inspiration from it for Pap’s backstory, though I didn’t copy the details and ended up not making Gaster a bad person for that backstory.

after that, I decided to have the characters meet and establish some tension between Undyne and Mettaton.

then I realized Pap’s story needed more work. what I really wanted to do with him was discuss ableism against autistic people, and I hadn’t really gone much into how it was affecting him. how could I make readers realize just how dire Papyrus’s situation was?

I honestly don’t really remember the process of coming up with it, but eventually I thought it might be realistic if Papyrus had some kind of drug addiction due to how awful normal life feels for him. so I introduced that in chapter 6.

in the next chapter, Devon was introduced. coming up with him took quite a while, though.

originally, Mettaton’s rapist was never going to be part of the story. in fact, that particular trauma of Mettaton’s was almost more background for his behavior than anything. I believe at first, Mettaton did not know the person who assaulted him. it was just someone he met at a party one night who got him after he got drunk. but after a while I realized, statistically, most victims actually do know their rapist, so I started coming up with a more developed character. at first, he was some kind of blue-collar worker that Mettaton befriended at the film studio. I think his name was Jake at the time, or Hunter, or something like that. I ended up with the name Devon because it was literally one letter off the word “demon,” which is what I thought of Devon as, metaphorically speaking.

I think it was after chapter 7, which was Devon’s debut chapter, that I made him a famous actor, because I figured it would make it more realistic for characters in the story to think highly of him.

even after that, I hadn’t really meant for him to be as large a part of the story as he is now. he was just gonna skulk in the background and become the Big Bad closer to the end of the story. but the more I wrote him and Mettaton together, the more I thought, “is it possible, given the way I’ve been writing Mettaton, that he would fall into Devon’s trap?” and I believed the answer was yes.

and that’s why later on, in chapter 20, Mettaton ends up becoming Devon’s partner.

it was five chapters before then that I had started writing a full, detailed outline for what I wanted to happen in Walls. that outline is about 30 pages long (and mind you it only included chapter 15 onward!).

ever since writing the outline, I’ve changed things, moved things around, added and deleted stuff (though I’ve been adding WAY more than I’ve been deleting). there’s honestly so much stuff I’m excited to get to, and I can’t wait to share it with readers!

50. do you have any advice for other writers?

lord uhhhhhhh I’m not very good giving abstract advice buuuuuut... definitely do your research on anything you’re not familiar with--be it an identity, mental illness, trauma, or a career or something like that--and even if you are familiar with something I’d still do extra research just to be sure. 

generally I’d also recommend having a beta reader, I personally have not used mine in a while but he was really helpful with the first several chapters and honestly I probably should start sending him stuff again...

I REALLY could not decide between the 4 lazy skeletons or the 4 active skeletons, so maybe do which set of four brings you the most inspiration? Would you be interested in writing about (group of your choice skeletons) with an adventurous S/O or BFF Crush who spontaneously gets the NEED to be in a new place and see new things and will up and leave to adventure at random? Minor like discover new nature spot to major like on a whim 1am 5 hour roadtrip to visit a new state for a few days?

Okay, let’s try this again so that I don’t have a weirdly blank post and an unanswered ask!!

Neither set really brings me more inspiration generally speaking, because it just happens naturally for various things. Some prompts require more inspiration than others, some just flow naturally, and any particular group can cause it to happen. For this prompt I can see the active skeletons being more inclined to work with this! 

UT Papyrus/Creampuff: He can most certainly understand the appeal of wanting to get up and go see things on a whim! After he made it to the Surface with all his friends and whatnot, they had to stop him from doing that exact same thing instantly, which only kinda worked. Creampuff is not one to be taken aback by going out and seeking new horizons, so if you end up going out on a limb and just heading on a trip, you’ve got a travel buddy. He’s the one on the trip who really wants to go and see everything that there is, but he also understands that there needs to be some slow down times and appropriate breaks. You’ll never really have a dull moment when he’s around, and he’s going to make sure that each trip is memorable. In fact, you might have a picture album by the end.

“WOWIE, LOOK AT HOW GORGEOUS THOSE MOUNTAINS ARE!! LET’S TAKE A PICTURE SO THAT WE CAN COMMEMORATE THIS MOMENT!!”

UF Papyrus/Fell: There is certainly a lot of things that he would love to go and see on the Surface, but this skeleton is a lot more hesitant than most to go and see what’s out there. He’s the overly cautious type who won’t admit that he’s concerned, and you won’t be able to get him to go with you initially. Fell wants to make sure that if he goes at all, everything is planned and accounted for with the scheduling and that any emergency is pre-planned for as well. Should something happen, he needs to know that there’s a backup plan in place to counter it. On the actual trip, he’s alert, but he can also take in the sights while he’s out there, just not as much as you would. By the end of the first trip though, he admits that he would love to go and do it all again.

“THAT WAS CERTAINLY A MEMORABLE EXPERIENCE, IF NOTHING ELSE. COULD WE PERHAPS TRY TO DO THAT AGAIN SOMETIME?”

US Sans/Blue: With this bundle of energy, it’s not a matter of getting him to come with you, but a matter of stopping him from joining every single trip and then some. He’s passionate about seeing the Surface and he wants to see every single inch of it in its entirety really. There is nothing that Blue won’t try to do while he explores, so if you think you really love to go and travel, sorry, but this boi has got you beat. He will run around tirelessly to make sure that he can learn about each portion of the land and the history of the places he sees. You’re going to have a great time with him as your travel buddy, but you’re going to need a lot of extra energy in this scenario. He won’t really slow down all that much, but if you really need it and you’re willing, he can carry you from place to place.

SF Sans/Black: This skeleton is the only one who will actually try to hold you back a little bit, though only for sensibility’s sake. You have other things that you need to do so you can’t go all the time on these little adventures. However, when you end up getting the right coordination between your work and all the pieces set up appropriately, then he’s more than willing to let you go, and go with you if you’ll let him. Black is the kind of skeleton who really wants to see things, but doesn’t know how to go out and do it on his own or tell others that he wants to. Having you around is definitely something that he secretly loves then because he can go out and enjoy what he wants to without having to stress about going solo or talking about it too much.

Hey so, I’m making this post mostly for readers of Kismet or Ladylionhart. I knew both her and her story had a pretty hefty following, and despite it not being updated I know as a fic reader myself, I would be wondering what happened if I went looking.  SO! I got a tumblr message a few days ago saying that LadyLionhart’s reylo story “Kismet” was plagiarizing my solavellan story “Message Sent.”  It’s not the first time I’ve been linked stories claiming this. Message Sent is a Wrong Number texting slow burn. And those are way more common than you’d think. Anyway, I investigated, and this time it was pretty damning.  Feeling sorta deflated and honestly just… tired, at seeing the amount of praise in the amount of it clearly ‘heavily inspired’ if not just straight lifted, I didn’t take any screenshots or comparisons. Im not the kind of person to make call out posts. So I messaged Ladylionhart on tumblr, before even deciding to make a report or a post… or whatever. I was also worried maybe I myself was being paranoid about the similarities.  In the morning I got the above messages, and no opportunity to respond, because her entire ao3 account, the story, and her tumblr were all deleted.  So that’s that I guess. Sorry to the readers of Kismet. That sucks. I know it was well loved. Sorry I had to be the one to pull the plug on it.  As I said, I didn’t take any comparison screenshots. I didn’t think it was gonna be straight deleted. But here is my list of notes from what I found similar in the stories, so hopefully it doesnt seem I inadvertantly got it deleted just cause it was a text/wrong number fic.  And if you have read Kismet and want to compare yourself, here is my story Message Sent published in march, 2015  (TFA/reylo came out dec, 2015 and Kismet, from what I remember, was published early 2017) -wrong number au, texting based romance -Professor and younger romance interest, age gap -she calls him professor, he calls her troublemaker  -the first message is about a book, and a misidentify as the professors assistant -Her name is stated, His name is a pseudonym -his texting is super formal, hers is young and casual -scene where he texts her during a meeting  -scene where he shoes her his view from a balcony -scene where she mentions a bakery and he visits  -he leaves her a gift, visit a bookstore -scene where they go to the same party and pass by each other but dont notice -scenes where he shows her pictures of his apartment -text convos about how theyd rather be with each other (flirty pre-sexts) during the party they are at together but dont know it -text convos of her being a roomate/living alone, convos where she trie sto guess his taught subject -She loves his hands/picture of hands not face, he did not mean to take picture of his hands -guided masturbation scene  -scene where he leaves the dinner table because of sexts

Whole text conversations seem lifted straight out of my own fic at times. Which is a little strange to read, since me and my bf roleplayed the texts in my fic. (Reading my boyfriends texts in someone elses fic, even with a slight word or lore change, is just really weird. Sorry im not trying to make this personal, it just happens to be) Kylo/Ben seems to talk a ton like Solas, in tone, cadence, formality. Etc. She also seemed to go on hiatus right before they were to meet and I went on hiatus right after I wrote them meeting. That one could be a coincidence but ehhh I dunno. Maybe she ran out of ideas. 

As far as what my response would have been? I dont know. A simple dedication page would imply I consented and I really… didn’t and I dunno that I would have. I honestly dunno what my response would have been tbh. I’m still unsure. Lots of the lore and surrounding events were changed and word choices were, if not the topics. And I feel for her readers.  But did Kylo have to be a professor? Did they have to visit a bakery/coffeshop/bookstore? Does he have to also show her a picture of his balcony? You can tell this exact same story without these exact details I think. I don’t think I would have cared or messaged her if it was a wrong number and Kylo was a tattoo artist and Rey was a thief who’d stolen the phone, or something.  Anyway, Sorry to all the Kismet readers. Sorry, she decided to delete all her works and account, and not just this story. Hope that clears it up in case you go back to your favorite bookmark and get a 404. :/

In 2012 I did not think I’d be able to make this list as I was convinced anime was on a permanent decline towards nothing but trash, but I am so happy that has changed! And so I give you a quick list of;

Favourite Anime made in the last 4 years!

Mob Psycho 100 (2016)

A no brainer, really. With a 2nd Season having JUST premiered earlier this week, MP100 is easily one of not only best LOOKING animes in a very very long time, but also one with an extremely strong empathetic message that’s completely opposite to most shounen anime. The theme of “having outrageous powers doesn’t make you any more or less special and important than any other human being” and how all the villains in the show are people, either super powered or not, who believe themselves “more important” than others is at the heart of its story. And our protagonist who is a person with horrifically strong powers, but who is trying to develop as a human being, and finds himself to be a rather emotionally brittle person who relies very heavily on others for emotional support. As well as focusing on the people willing to grant him that. It’s got some strong influential roots in the Earthbound and Mother 3 games and despite never saying anything along those lines, I can bet you anything the original Mangaka, ONE, drew heavy inspiration from their tone and presentation, as well as emotional core despite the oftentimes wacky setting.

The anime should also not be overlooked for its incredible Sakuga sequences, as well as using mixed media in its animation from pencil drawings, to paint of glass, to charcoal to sand, cementing it as easily one of the most visually interesting and ambitious shows in the last decade or so

Made in Abyss (2017)

An anime that understands concepts of Scope and Scale and manages to bring what is normally reserved for feature films to an episodic storyline. Made in Abyss’ entire theme and story is that of exploration of the unknown and everything in this anime’s power is honed to bring across that feeling. Its art direction headed by Osamu Masuyama whose previous work include working on the background art for both Spirited Away and Howl’s Moving Castle, is painstakingly rendered to bring as much gravitas to the setting as possible, aided by the soundtrack written by Kevin Penkin which is just as much atmospheric as it is musical in nature. Every ounce of talent is focused on making Made in Abyss’ world, culture and characters feel solid and real. And unlike other anime with cutesy art styles but dark subject matter, Made in Abyss’ darker tone is established right in the first episode and gradually builds to its first season’s climax, rather than blindside its audience out of nowhere.

I sincerely cannot sing this show’s praises enough.

It also doesn’t hurt that the animation itself is fluid and lively.

Re:Creators (2017)

When I gave this to an animator friend of mine, one who is NOT as big a weeb as I am, he referred to it as “if Ready Player One actually knew what it was doing.” Re:Creators is one of a trend of some anime where the narrative is extremely meta in nature, but rather than use this as a form of parody, Re:Creators instead focuses itself on using its meta storytelling to shine a light on Japanese popular media as a whole, both from the side of the creators who MAKE such things, as well as the side of the fans and not only their response to media, but their interpretation and addition to popular media. And unlike the more critical approach several horror anime have taken in the past, Re:Creators also shows the positive effect stories in the form of anime, video games, manga etc both on those who read it as well as those who create it. And show how fan creations and their responses and reaction to media are just as important and enriching to works like this as the very people who create them.

It’s also one of the first shows from any country that correctly portrays what online fan culture is like. Both good AND bad.

Erased (2016)

HOO BOY. The Big Guns. Most mainstream anime set in a modern setting inevitably seem to involve high school or at least characters who are high school aged. Erased, however, deals with a protagonist who is 28 years old. Due to time travel shenanigans, he is transported back to 1989 when he was 11 years old growing up in Hokaido. So already, this anime is complete skewing the generic setting for stories of its type, further hammered in by the fact that the show has no romantic subplot in it. There might be a smidge of something like “preteen romantic feelings” among the children but as far as “female hero the protag is going to fall in love with at the end” goes? Yeah there’s none of that.

Erased is an extremely dark anime, but not in the way Made in Abyss is dark. Whereas Abyss’ dark tone comes from things like getting eaten by monsters and body horror caused by the Abyss’ curse, the dark theme of Erased on the other hand is much more horrifying as it comes from “reality”. And it’s because of this I WILL have to warn people about its plot points because it WILL and DOES get uncomfortable.

The plot of Erased is our 28 year old protagonist gets hurled back in time to when he was 11 years old in Hokaido, as I said. In the winter of 1989 there were a string of child abductions and murders, and it’s up to our main character, again in his 11 year old body, to solve these crimes to prevent a tragedy in modern day. Not only does the show deal with the very uncomfortable topic of child abduction and murder, but a MASSIVE part of the plot revolves around the would be murder victim, Hinazaki Kayo, who is living with her physically abusive mother. And unlike shows like “Magical Girl SITE”, the abuse is not shown as “suffer porn” and blown up to be so over the top in how bad it is, ut is instead extremely grounded and feels waaaay to real to the point of being very upsetting. However, the abuse is not there to make the audience sad. The abuse is in the plot to further press upon the audience the borderline helpless state our main character is in. As a child, he has to rely on his experience and ability to think like an adult to try and prevent the serial murders, as WELL as try and get Hanazaki out of her abusive situation. It also serves as a learning experience for our main character, and him figuring out how he hasn’t changed at all since he really was a child, and how his own stagnation in life itself needs to change and be redirected. The show is bursting with tension and every episode exists to turn the stakes up just a little bit higher.

I’ve heard some people are extreme disappointed by the show’s ending which I will not spoil, but personally going into it completely blind, I didn’t find any of it to be a let down and its very quickly become one of my favourite anime of all time.

The Ancient Magus Bride (2017)

Based on a manga by Kore Yamazaki, who has stated that her reason for writing the story was out of frustration that in “Beauty and the Beast” type stories, the beast always turns back into a human at the end. However this anime is far more than just a monsterfucker’s romance novel (although it... DOES follow a LOT of those tropes but hear me out.)

Set in the English countryside (although our female MC, Rise, is herself Japanese) the show makes heavy use of english folklore. Faeries are a constant presence throughout the show, and these are not the “nice” kind of faeries you’d see in Disney. Despite theyr good nature and honest want to help, these are the kinds of faeries that will kidnap you to their realm if you so much as let your guard down. We also have excellent portrayals of Titania, the queen of the faeries, and her heated relationship with her husband Oberon. Several other creatures from folklore make an appearance too, as well as old traditions such as faerie rings, seeing stones and the magical properties of herbs and flowers.

But beyond all of that, and even beyond the romance tropes or monster protector who is also a threat and powerful lead female who also needs protecting, the core theme of the show is on life. Or more specifically, death. Rise is a girl who is suicidal. And despite her not making any kind of suicide attempt in the show, this is a fact. The majority of the show is focused on Rise learning to “be alive” again, as well as process what life is, as well as what death is in its many forms. The show is a slow build of Rise reclaiming her will to live, not because of a romantic partner, but for herself. Reclaiming her own importance as a person removed from who she could be useful towards, and a slow coming to terms with a truly terrible event in her past and letting go of a traumatic past.

The show has some pacing issues here and there, but I still qualify it as one of the better modern anime shows to have come out in years, and can only praise its life-affirming message it’s trying to tell.

Osomatsu-San (2015)

I am.... not entirely sure how to explain Osomatsu-San.

Based on a manga published in the 1960s by Doraemon Creator Fujio Fujiko about 6 identical sextuplet brothers and their friends... the current and newest anime adaptation has borderline nothing to do with its original incarnation which was more your typical Showa era “hi-jinx” type gag manga. I think the very first episode of Osomatsu-San (which is not available for official purchase last I checked due to copyright issues) sets up the entire show perfectly, as the 6 boys and their friends learn they have a new anime adaptation coming up and realise that nobody in the modern age will want or even understand Showa era manga. So, instead, in an effort to be like “a real anime” they go about parodying literally every popular trope and show that’s out at the time. From yaoi-incest baiting to Jpop boy band to Attack on Titan to Sailor Moon, they keep cranking up the “modern anime” aesthetic until it literally explodes and collapses in on itself. And after realising they don’t have what it takes to compete in a modern anime word, the characters resign themselves to being losers who will never achieve anything in life.... and that’s where the show starts.

I can only refer to the show as “Millennial humour: the anime.”. 90% of it is just comedy with our 6 main characters who are, at their core, pretty terrible people. However, their issues and struggles of trying to be adults make them some of the most relateable anime characters out there. The show bounces from parodying popular culture both in anime as well as in movies to outlining the problems of trying to be a late 20-something year old in modern society to actual hard hitting drama that actually makes you angry because how DARE this stupid show actually make you FEEL things???

It’s borderline impossible to try and explain this show because, just like its 6 protagonists, it doesn’t seem to have any direction in its life. Which is exactly the point.

You were sitting under a tree with your head down, and a book in your lap. You finally had time to take a break from all your responsibilities and have a day to breathe. Relax. You reminded yourself. No one was going to take this away from you. Yet you couldn’t help the feeling that something would come up, and you would have to leave the perfect spot under the tree that you worked so hard to find.

When you look up, the sun was gleaming through the leaves, and you had raised your hand up to block out it’s brightness. Through your parted fingers, you squint up at the sky, but you’ve never felt so relaxed before. You breathe in, slow and deeply, and you exhale all at once. Your lips curve into a smile, and you set your book aside.

The grass underneath you is itchy, but you don’t mind as you lay down to stare up at the vast sky. Clouds rolling, slowly coming into view. You rest your head on top of your hands, and make out different shapes that you can picture. How long has it been since I’ve felt so at ease before? The thought lingers in your mind a moment or two before you shake it away, closing your eyes to appreciate the tranquility.

You feel the earth, you feel the air, the slight breeze around you. Your heart beats with the earth, and with every breath you make is even and calm. The noise of nature around you calms you, and you forget where you are for a moment. Just for a moment. Until your eyes are fluttering open and you're sitting up after hearing the sound of a camera shutter startle you. You stare wide-eyed at a girl, standing a few feet away from you with a camera up to her face. Before you could say anything, she lowers her camera, and your words are stuck in the back of your throat once you see her. Your mouth is dry, and your mind is blank once she sits next to you.

“I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to freak you out. I swear I’m not some creepy person who takes strangers pictures without them knowing. I’m Yebin.” She holds out her hand, and you can't help but stare at her. When Yebin notices your raised eyebrows and perplexed expression, she’s quick to pull out a small card from her back pocket. “Here.” She hands you her card, and you’re hesitant to take it. Once you read it, you look back up at her.

“You’re a photographer?” She smiles at your words and nods.

“Yes, I am.” She says it almost too excitedly.

“I’m sorry, I’m not a model or anything.” You’re handing back the card, and Yebin is taken aback for a moment.

“Oh! No, I think you’ve misunderstood something. I’m not looking for a model.” She’s shoving you back her card, and you keep it, holding it underneath your palm against the ground below you. “I was taking a break away from my studio when I stumbled upon you and couldn’t help myself. I hope it’s okay but I-” She dangles the camera off her neck, and goes through her pictures. Your eyes peer over, and she tilts her camera to your view. “took some pictures of you.” It was a photo of you reading the book you had brought.

“Whoa.” You subconsciously say it under your breath, but Yebin catches it. She goes to the next photo and it’s you looking up at the sky with a smile on your face, and your hand covering you from the sun. You’re left even more breathless than the first. When she goes to the last one, your vocabulary abandons you as you look at a photo of you laying in the grass with your eyes closed with your hands behind your head. You’re crept out at first, but the photos she took at the right angle with the right kind of lighting made you forget that she took your pictures without you knowing. “You’re really talented.” Yebin can’t help but blush at your comment.

“If you like them, I could give them to you. Free of charge.”

“Wait really?” You look up at her, and Yebin's eyes shift between your own.

“Of course. I did unknowingly take your photos and all.” She can’t help but look at the ground as she says that, and you find it adorable.

“Then...” You reach out your hand, and Yebin stares back at you. “Can I see more of your pictures?” You ask her. Yebin seems surprised at your request, and for a moment debates whether to or not. In the end she does, and she’s handing over her camera to you. You take it cautiously in your grasp.

“Just click left.” She tells you. You do so, and the first photo you see is a white mug filled with coffee with a heart shaped foam. You unknowingly curl your lips into a small smile, and Yebin catches herself staring at you. You click on the next, and you see a wall full of graffiti. But it’s beautiful from how she took it. You stare at that one a bit longer before moving on to the next.

“These are really good.” You tell her. Yebin, again, blushes at your comment and pulls her knees to her chest. People have told her countless of times how good her photos turn out, but from you it was different. She doesn’t know how or why, but she caught herself infatuated with you the moment she spotted you reading under the tree.

You keep going through her photos, and rarely ever saw one where there was a person. If there was, there would be a couple holding hands, or kissing, or a female posing. When you look back at Yebin, she’s already staring back at you.

“What inspired you to do this?” Your question catches her off guard. No one has ever asked her why she took up photography as a career. For a moment, Yebin racks the back of her brain and thinks.

“I honestly don’t know. I guess I was always good at taking photos that it was only natural that I did photography.” She says. You don’t seem to believe her at first, but the way she talked was as though it was the truth. "I like it though. I enjoy capturing a thousand feelings into one moment. That's all you get in photography. A moment." She states. You stare at her long and hard before turning back to the photos. You go over each and every one carefully. "I never caught your name by the way."

"It's y/n." You don't look up as you tell her. Yebin repeats your name in her head. "You take really cool shots." Your eyes never leaving the camera.

"I only take pictures of things I find beautiful." She says. You snort and glance up at her.

"You think I'm beautiful?" A smile plays on your lips, and Yebin stares at you longer to capture the way your face is in disbelief at her words. Without processing it herself, she reaches up to you, and your breath hitches. She pushes a lose strand of your hair behind your ear, and your face heats up.

"I think you're very beautiful." She tells you. Her eyes shift between yours, and you can't help the blush that spreads across your cheeks. Yebins fixated gaze on you is enough to make you melt, and you have to turn away before you really lose yourself. You clear your throat, and Yebin grins at your behavior.

"I should get going though. I have some photos I need to edit for a client I have." You watch as Yebin gets up to brush the grass and dirt off her. You hand back her camera, and she adjusts it back over her neck. I want to talk to you more though. The words are stuck in your throat, and you can't find the will to say them. "Will you be here again tomorrow?" She asks. You stare at her dumbly before answering.

"Hm? Oh, uh yes." You say it quick and fast, and Yebin laughs at your hasty voice.

"And if you want-" She jerks her head downward at the card she gave you earlier. "My number's on there as well. So call me anytime." With a smile, she turns back and starts walking away, leaving you in a blushing and flustered mess.

I’m gonna just put some of my thoughts out there for a minute, it’ll be under a cut. It’s not a vent or anything! At least that’s not the intention ‘^^ It’s just probably gonna get long(correction: it did get long. Like, REALLY long), and some stuff in it might not be everyone’s cup of tea.

So...

I’ve mentioned before that my family is not the most supportive bunch, at least where things like... questioning your gender are concerned. I’ve lived with a pretty transphobic family my whole life. Still do, unfortunately. And I used to be a pretty transphobic person myself. How could I not be in the environment I grew up in? I didn’t know any better.

And that was the thing.

I didn’t know any better. All I knew about trans people was what I learned from my family bitching about them at random intervals for no other reason than they thought the concept was stupid. They’d never met a trans person in their lives, but that didn’t stop them from belittling them and making fun of them whenever they saw something related to them on the internet. I never openly belittled them like my family did, but I didn’t disagree with them either.

I had a forced sense of “normality” for my whole life. I was born male, so I was expected to act as such. Honestly, I’ve questioned my gender since I was... almost seven, I believe. I just didn’t really understand what the feelings and thoughts I was having back then. I was a kid, and, at that point, I hadn’t heard of trans people yet, so where was I supposed to go with thoughts like “but what if I’m a girl?”, “I don’t feel like I should be a boy...”, “I don’t know what I am.” Of course, I didn’t always completely relate to a more feminine image of myself(*demi*girl, and all that), but I related to it more than the expectations I put on myself.

And that was another thing, my family never really pressured me to be masculine, most of the pressure came from me. I got caught playing with my sisters dolls once when I was almost 8 and my parents lost their marbles. Of course I got a lecture about how boys can’t play with dolls... However, the topic was dropped as fast as it came up. It was never brought up again. Later, when I was around 10, was when my parents started bringing up the topic of trans people during their little discussions and started trying to dismantle the idea.

I had always pushed away the thoughts that were “different” or “weren’t right”, and getting a name for the thoughts enforced that. My parents hated the idea, so obviously I couldn’t have those thoughts. I still didn’t even completely realize what I was thinking, just that I had to act like how I was “supposed to”. I put myself into a mindset that I could not be feminine at all, ever. I used to refuse to play female characters in games, it was that ingrained into my head.

Speaking of games... Metroid was a big step for me. I first saw Samus in Smash Bros., and I thought she was a robot. I was very big into robots then, so I loved her. I didn’t find out she was a girl until we got Brawl and I used her final smash. I stopped playing her for a while, but then I just said “fuck it” and started playing her again. I thought she was cool. Eventually I got the Metroid Prime Trilogy on my Wii U. I had still been avoiding playing female characters in games, but I was willing to now. And how could I not play Samus’s games when I loved her so much in Smash? I felt comfortable playing her games, and in Smash, because she was a girl that didn’t... act like a girl. She kicked ass in a badass suit of power armor, which wasn’t a very girly thing to me, so I felt like I was “allowed” to play as her. Which was dumb, and the only person who said I wasn’t allowed was myself. I was always my biggest enemy. Video games were a big coping mechanism for me, so when I finally let myself play as female characters without an excuse... I started getting better. It wasn’t an overnight thing, and I wasn’t accepting myself solely for that, but it was a start.

Eventually I found... Undertale. Yes, Undertale. Honestly, a lot of good things in my life can be eventually traced back to that game. Undertale didn’t get me thinking about my gender or anything, no, but it got me onto tumblr. At first, I just... lurked. I didn’t have a tumblr account, I just had a few tumblr blogs that I knew of and hung around. Eventually I thought of my Undertale AU, and that’s when I finally made my tumblr account.

Of course, I only absorbed UT content at first... but, through tumblr, I was exposed to other things. I learned about different sexualities, I learned about what being transgender actually is, I learned... a lot. Or was inspired to learn. It was a slow process, but I finally started questioning myself... and accepting myself. It took me about a year of being on tumblr to question my attraction to people and accept that being attracted to everybody was okay. And it took me almost two years to come to terms with my gender identity.

Now... tumblr didn’t give me an epiphany, no. It wasn’t a magical solution to all my troubles, and I’m not gonna pretend that it was or is. No, I always knew. Tumblr just helped me be open-minded enough to accept what I already knew. And tumblr brought people into my life that helped me figure everything out.

I realized why I was never happy with myself.

I am... not a very feminine looking person. There are a lot of things I hate about myself. A lot of things that I want to be, but am not.

I want to be... feminine. I want to be petite. I want to be cute. I want to look good in skirts. I want to wear heels... okay maybe not that last bit, but I won’t know until I try-

I wish I could go back and just be born the way I wanted to be. But I was born the way I am. Do I plan on transitioning someday? Fuck yes, I’d love to! I want nothing more than a body I can be comfortable with. However... it’s a medical procedure, and those are always stupidly expensive. And I am terrified of surgery. I think my biggest fear is surgery... If there's a way I could transition without surgery? Even if it’s only partially? I can live with that. At least I think I can live with that. I hope I can. I’d just like to avoid going broke or getting put on a surgical table. I just want to look like the kind of person someone else can look at and think “oh, she’s cute”. I think the hardest part of getting to transition would be getting out of this house. I’m disabled, I have a hard time functioning, especially when it comes to things that people would consider work, and I’m at risk of losing my disability checks because the people who are in charge of these things seem to think that my IQ is too high for an ‘actual’ autistic person to have(I have other disabilities alongside that, but that’s another discussion altogether.) I’m just. Kind of fucked. I’m not sure if I’ll ever be able to get out of this house, to support myself... I hope I’m wrong. But the chances of me living away from my family aren’t looking good.

I won’t let it stop me, though. I’m going to try. I keep thinking I’m on a time limit, especially since I’m gonna turn 20 this year, but my uncle lived with my grandmother until well into his forties, and y’know what? He moved out recently, and he’s doing great! If he can do it... I just have to keep in mind that my life’s not gonna get better overnight. It’s a process. My life will get better... it may take years, it may be a long, long time from now...

But it will get better.

Eddie Gets A Bellybutton Ring HC

A/N: I’m reposting this because the first time I did, this didn’t how up on the Reddie tag. IDK why, but whatever. Obviously the characters are aged up. I imagine Ezra Miller as Richie and Timothee Chalamet as Eddie instead of Finn and Jack. Picture whoever you want, but you’re gonna be wrong. So sit there wrongly marinating in your wrongness being all wrong and shit. Also, there are two songs mentioned in this headcanon “Waves by Miguel (Tame Impala Remix)” and The Best Part by Daniel Caesar (feat H.E.R) which were the songs that inspired this whole HC, so I encourage you to listen to them when it gets to the part where they are mentioned. So its the summer of 2018 and the losers had just finished junior year.

Eddie has been officially out since freshman year and mostly everyone is cool or just indifferent about it, except his mom.

She is always harping on him about “acting like a man,” calls him horrible slurs, and orders him to date girls.

Eddie is SICK of her harassing him, so he decides to do the exactly opposite and do something super gay as an act of rebellion.

So secretly he runs off and he gets a mother-fucking belly button ring! And not just any belly button ring, but a cute dangly one like this one!

At first he just did it to piss off his mom, but once he sees himself in the mirror with the ring, he kinda starts to love it? AND he can’t wait to show Richie.

Instead of just telling the Losers that he got the piercing, he decides to surprise them, so he sneakily suggest they all go to the quarry the next day for a swim.

The next day when they all strip into their bathing suits, Eddie makes sure Bev catches a glimpse, cause he knows she will make a big deal about it.

Sure enough, she screeches “OMG Eddie, is that a belly button ring!?”

“Yeah, ginger-bitch. Why? You jealous or what?”

“Its so fucking cute!”

Everyone is all over him, interrogating him, and touching it, while he talks about his motivations for getting it- everyone except Richie.

Richie is standing there stunned, astonished, speechless, dumbfounded, and a whole bunch of other adjectives.

Eddie had been on the track team ever since 8th grade, so he’s lost all the baby fat and is super tight and toned! Richie already thought he was super hot, but with that belly button ring? He was short circuiting!

This didn’t go unnoticed by Eddie.

Eddie loves the way Richie, his lifelong crush, is looking at him. So, he begins to flaunt his provocative piercing every chance he gets.

He’d do things like stretch, making his shirt rise and expose his belly button, making Richie blush and stutter incoherently.

He’ll change his shirt in front of Richie whenever he comes over to chill or study or whatever.

Sometimes he’d just lift his shirt and play with it or admire it just for the sake of fucking with Richie.

Richie fucking loves and hates that fucking piercing! On the one hand, Eddie looks fucking unbelievable, but on the other hand he hates that he can only look, but never touch. Plus all the inconvenient boners!

All the Losers know what the idiots are doing, but say nothing cause they’re both fucking dumb and gay.

So this goes on for months. Months of torture for both of them!

That is until one night, when Richie climbs up to Eddie’s window, but before he knocks, he gets a peak of Eddie dancing provocatively through a little gap in the curtains. He nearly falls of the roof.

Richie sneaks over all the time, but he usually texts Eddie before he heads over, but he didn’t this night. So Eddie wasn’t expecting him.

Completely unaware of Richie being there, he’s dancing around his room to Tame Impala’s remix of Miguel’s Waves, in those short shorts and a plain, but slightly sheer white tee while folding laundry and cleaning and shit. But he’s being super sensual about it, and would even stop occasionally to dance in front of the mirror.

He’d lift his shirt, exposing his piercing and do some belly-dancing Shakira ass moves.

Richie feels super guilty and pervy spying on him, so he taps on the window startling Eddie.

Eddie immediately deduces that Richie had seen the whole thing and at first is embarrassed, then kinda mad, but quickly gets over it.

He opens the window and pulls Richie in and asks him to dance along with him, like when they were kids.

Richie is still all flustered and awkward. This wasn’t like when they were kids, cause now there was romantic and sexual tension.

Eddie is like “Why are you being all weird and stiff? C’mon loosen up!” and Richie just mumbles incoherently.

Thinking it might help Richie feel more relaxed, he shuts off the lights, leaving the room illuminated by just the two vanilla scented candles Eddie had lit, the fairlylights draped around Eddie’s wall, and the light from the bathroom that seeped through the slightly open door.

It works, cause Richie starts to dance much more enthusiastically along to the music.

Richie and Eddie had always crossed boundaries with each other, and dancing was no exception. Eddie would grind on Richie, Richie would wrap his arms around Eddie.

This begin to escalate and they start teasing each other.

Eddie would link his arms behind Richie’s neck and lean in super close…so close their lips almost graze each other and just as Richie thinks he’s going to close the gap, he pulls away and keeps on dancing.

Richie retaliates by pulling Eddie in, twirling him around, and then dipping him, but keeps him suspended in his arms and also leans in super close. So close that Eddie is absolutely certain that Richie is going to kiss him, but just as he begins to pucker his lips slightly…Richie lifts him and keeps on dancing.

Eddie is pissed so he takes it to the next fucking level. He turns around and presses himself flush against Richie, his ass grinding against him.

Richie gets all stiff and Eddie notices, but decides to keep torturing his homie.

He takes Richie’s hands and guides them to his abs and silently encourages him to roam around his body.

Richie feels Eddie’s belly button ring with the tips of his fingers, while his hands explore Eddie’s upper body.

“Eds… “ Richie murmurs forebodingly, but Eddie ignores him.

He looks back and lifts his arm and cups Richie’s cheek with his right hand, while still dancing against him.

Richie dips his head towards Eddie’s and now their temples are pressed against each other, but Eddie has other plans.

He turns his head and gets dangerously close…Richie faces him with dark lustful eyes and also leans in. Their lips are almost touching…mere millimeters away from becoming a kiss.

Richie can feel Eddie’s peppermint breath ticking his lips, and his heart is racing, pulsating in his ears.

Eddie leans in one more time, but just as Richie closes his eyes, ready to finally kiss his best friend, after years of fruitless flirtations- Eddie pulls away and keeps dancing.

Richie could roundhouse kick Eddie through the fucking wall, he’s so pissed and sexually frustrated.

Then the song changes to Best Part by Daniel Caesar feat H.E.R. and they both kinda just look at each other, unsure of whether to keep dancing or if that would be weird.

But the song is perfect and everything Eddie feels for Richie… so he takes Richie’s hand and pulls him in. He links his arms behind Richie’s neck and Richie wraps him arms around his waist as they begin to slow dance in the dimly lit room.

They had danced like this before when they were kids. Eddie used to stand on Richie’s feet and Richie would lead them. It was cute and adorable, but this was anything but those things.

There was so much tension between them. So many uncertainties and doubts that kept them from each other.

At first Eddie’s head is pressed against Richie’s chest, but then he looks up at Richie through his thick dark lashes and Richie thinks he look absolutely breathtakingly beautiful.

“What are we doing, Eds?” Richie murmurs and sounds emotionally exhausted.

“What have we been doing?” Eddie counters with his own soft spoken question.

Richie looks at Eddie uncertainly as he scans his face. “Dancing?”

“No. Not right now. Before. All along. All these years …” Eddie seems almost sad.

Richie remains silent far too long for Eddie’s preference. He scours his mind for the right thing to say, but “Eds … I … I don’t know,” is all he manages out.

“I think you do know, Rich. I think we both know, but are afraid to say it.”

Richie just looks conflicted and hesitant to say anything.

Eddie decides to be brave. Braver than he’s ever been his entire life. Braver than when he kicked a fucking demon right in his dumb turd face. “Richie, I’ve tried to drop hints. I’ve tried to make my feelings known. I’ve tried to show you how I feel about you, but there is a line that I can’t cross. Not unless you want me to … unless you ask me to.” He’s staring at Richie’s lips now.

“What line?”

Eddie pulls his eyes away from Richie’s lips and loses himself in Richie’s chocolate eyes. “The same line we’ve been teetering on for years- just like we are doing right now, but I can’t do this anymore, Rich. I want more. I need more.”

“Why haven’t you? Crossed the line, I mean. Whats holding you back?” Eddie can feel Richie’s hand quivering against his waist.

“You’ve never talked about your sexuality, Richie. I don’t wanna disrespect you or ruin our friendship, by doing something you dont want.” Tears are beginning to pool on Eddie’s waterline and Richie’s heart is breaking at the sight. “I can’t do anything unless you want me to. You need to ask me to. That is the only way . . .”

Without a word, Richie leans in with his eyes shut and nudges Eddie’s nose with his.

Eddie is so close but feels a billion miles away all at the same time. “Tell me what you want, Richie. All you have to do is tell me.”

“I want you. I want more. I need more of you- all of you!”

That was all Eddie needed, he eagerly closes the torturous gap and finally kisses Richie. After a decade of agonizing pining, excruciating longing, and abortive flirting he finally kissed him. It was magical. Everything Eddie dreamed about and more. He never knew anything could feel like this.

Richie, too, is feeling like fireworks are going off in his chest. He pulls Eddie flush against him and intensifies the kiss. Eddie feels himself lost in it.

When they finally pull apart for air, they gaze at each other with huge smiles.

Eddie embraces Richie as tight as he can and Richie tightens his own arms around Eddie’s waist. They hold each other as tightly for as along as they can.

“What happens now?” Eddie asks into Richie’s ear.

“Be mine. All mine. Only mine.” Richie whispers back.

Eddie pulls away with teary eyes, but an amorous smile. “I always have been.”

They kiss once more, but this time it gets even more passionate.

They are so caught up in the moment that they don’t hear Sonia clomping up the stair and opening the bedrooms door to complain about the volume.

“Eddie! What is this!?”

They boys pull apart with shocked faces. They look towards each other, unsure of what to do or say.

Sonia just glares daggers at them.

Richie whispers to Eddie “Don’t worry, I got this babe.”

Eddie heart skips at the pet name for a quick second, but then he says “Richie, no wait dont-”

“Hey Ms. K. I hate that you had to find out this way but, I’m leaving you for your son.”

Sonia loses her shit, screams, and starts stampeding towards Richie like a bull and Richie pulls off Eddie’s red shorts and begins to taunt Sonia like a matador.

Eddie is all like “Richie! Mom! Stawp!”

Richie keeps evading Sonia with the shorts until he dangles it in front of the window and sonia charges and unintentionally flies out the window.

“MOM!”

“Oh shit… “

They look out the window, certain they were about to see a dead body, but are surprised to see sonia hanging from the tree right outside Eddie’s window, screaming at the top of her lungs.

Luckily her foot got caught on one of the branches and narrowly evaded death.

Eddie and Richie pause but then erupt with laughter.

“Okay can we go back to making out now?” Richie asks

“Richie we need to help her. We need to call 911 or something!”

“Fine, but after you call can we makeout until they get here?”

“Richie! … I thought that would go without saying.

— mikey was born and raised in winnipeg because i think it’s funny when characters are from winnipeg. if you’re from winnipeg i’m so sorry. definitely was born on the coldest day of that year ( so like some point in january )

— but because of those long, cold harsh winters, mikey found himself in a dance studio a lot. his aunt was a dance teacher and with rather absent parents who meant well but both had long hours at the local hospital, he spent a lot of time with her. he fell in love with dance pretty early on, always having a certain fluidity and grace even when he was young.

— random but he also played hockey up until he was like 16 or whatever because he’s canadian and i’m not stupid. it happened. he can still skate tho. in a slightly different life he probably would have been a pretty good figure skater huh 🤔🤔🤔 but anyway...

— also feel like it makes sense that he did gymnastics. and trained in classical ballet.

— he went to university of toronto for college, studying kinesology and dance, and danced at one of the prestigious studios in the city.

— his big break moment was when in his sophomore year at ut, he made it onto the second season of world of dance in early 2017 ( lets pretend that show has been on longer than it has bc i don’t want it to be the first season of it sldk ). he made it all the way to the finals and quickly become a fan favorite along the way. though he ultimately placed second and missed out on the million dollars, that was the beginning of many doors opening for him. ( for those who, might have the vaguest clue what i’m talking about : i’m highkey feeling like, michael dameski style which is an idea i had after i named him michael so don’t @ me for him having the same first name ).

— millions watched that show, including some prominent agents and scouts who were able to help him launch a professional dance career : something he never thought he’d see himself actually doing. his first big gig was making the dance team for some singer’s north american tour, and he ended up not returning to ut to pursue a professional dance career full time. since then he’s danced in a few music videos for some uber famous musican ( same one he went on tour with or not idk ?? also a wc ?? maybe ?? ), a tv show, couple movies, and other various gigs around the city. he works part time at a studio when he has time, and has been honing his choreography skills as well.

— he makes enough dancing, but certainly not enough to make him RICH. no, that come from an impromptu vlog he did while on tour with aforementioned singer. having already garnered a following from world of dance, he soon rose to youtube fame as well, something he never could have predicted. i feel like his videos are very just, day in a life with various random athletic challenges mixed in, and various workout and flexibility tips. he also still does pieces and duets with other prominent dancers just for fun too. his natural charisma and attitude really just carries him through easily lmao.

— mikey developed a bit of a habit of sleeping around when he left for college, all the newfound freedom was just intoxicating and well. he was hot so. it wasn’t like it was hard alsdkjf. that stuck around well into his blossoming dance career. nothing that was enough to be scandalous, but he made his way around. and then a year and a half into this unforeseen new life, he met matthew glass.

— he’d had a couple serious relationships before, one in high school, one his freshman year of college but neither of them could hold a flame to what he felt when he was with matt. perfection wasn’t something mikey believed in, but he almost did with what they had.

— it was like for over a year and a half he lived in this insane dream, and then mikey and matt broke up and he was devastated ( behind closed doors and with curtains pulled tightly shut ).

— he then proceeded to broadcast how perfectly fine he was doing by going back to his old ways and sleeping around obsessively, this time with very little regard as to how many headlines he was making. as far as coping mechanisms go, i guess sex is better than alcohol ?? not to say he wasn’t also drunk at times l o l.

— mikey gets around. has definitely been trying to forget matty with other warm bodies but honestly it’s not working

— very bi. very much does not care. if the world didn’t know he was before, it definitely does now lmao. he hasn’t come out in the sense he’s like posted a video about it and said “i’m bisexual” but it’s pretty obvious from the media and maybe he has gotten asked in interviews and has just shrugged and been like does it matter ?? i’m sorry he’s not the vocal bi ally we need. perhaps we will work on that.

— hasn’t dated anyone since matt bc he’s highkey lowkey still hung up on him but no one needs to know that right. outwardly, he’s very much the same : seemingly happy, but he’s a lot more careful with his heart and letting people close to him. if anything he’s become a bit of a two-way mirror, always seeing out but never really letting people see in, just what they want to see.

— probably goes without saying but extremely flexible. idk if any of you know who juuse saros is but apparently he can twerk in a split and i’m not saying mikey can but like. he just might be able to...

— straight up does not get cold. never wears more than a hoodie, probably danced shirtless in the middle of winter just fine. at least being from winnipeg is good for one ( 1 ) thing.

— he tends to be extremely underestimated as he comes across a bit dumb and generally has a pretty positive outlook on life which people confuse for him being naive when that isn’t the case. but he’s found he can use that it his advantage and that sometimes, people will tell him things they think he can’t understand but he hears and remembers everything. it’s helped him out of a few difficult situations before.

— i feel like he has a bit of ethan dolan’s personality & dumbass energy idk guys...

— live in the moment kind of dude. his motto is probably like : you just gotta know what you want to do next. i mean looking back on his life it’s been pretty crazy and that’s only solidified his outlook that like, you really can’t control too much. just let it go where it takes you.

— people do like him though and they like talking to him for whatever reason. generally has pretty trustworthy vibes but he’s more slippery than he comes across. he’s a selfish person at heart and always has his own best interests in mind, even if it doesn’t seem that way at first.

— 6′1″. chocolate brown eyes. curly brown hair. he has a lithe but extremely fit build due to his career. his core strength is especially impressive.

— he has a monochromatic lineart tattoo of a rose on his left forearm / wrist and a butterfly ( again monochromatic & just lineart ) on his right shoulder. small scar at the base of his neck by his ear from an unfortunate hockey accident.

— needs glasses but usually only wears contacts unless he’s in his apartment late at night.

— he’s not overly fashionable, going more for comfort than how he generally looks. on a regular day, he’s probably got the whole... college athlete look going if you know what i mean. a big fan of mirrored aviator sunglasses. wouldn’t know what dressing up meant even if it slapped him in the face.

Well.

If you all saw the post on the blog, @bloomingdreemurr is... basically over. For good this time, it seems.

Not gonna lie, when I found this blog and all the various Anons, I wanted to join the fun and so I did. Cue the utter cringe that was Future Anon and “Little League” Anon. It was fun, even when I was doing all the stupid dark shit I had with the second iteration of Chris.

I hope everyone forgets about that bit, to be honest.

But by the third run, I was running out of steam, likely because the UT fixation in me kinda died down. The posts slowed, Mayfield never got a continuation of her story, Coral never got her characterization I planned, and Chris is stuck doing his homework.

I stayed strong though, vainly hoping that maybe some spark of inspiration will come up once things continued. But I doubt I would have kept going anyway.

I suppose that, since BD is over, I might as well call it quits too. Officially, this time.

Of course, there’s the chance that I might, MIGHT, come back to these characters at some point, but who knows. The world might as well be ending when that time comes.

Still, it was fun while it all lasted. I had a good time.
