I've decided to step away from #Instagram permanently. The reason is straightforward: Meta's approach to user privacy has become increasingly concerning. They've created a situation where we're forced to pay to protect our privacy rights. This goes against my principles—I believe we should have both our rights and our money. On Instagram, we share our creative work, but instead of being rewarded for our contributions, we're asked to pay just to continue participating. Our visual creations are the essence of Instagram's value, yet we receive little in return. If not monetary compensation, the least we should expect is the respect of our privacy rights.

Australians would gain greater control of their personal information, including the ability to opt out of targeted ads, erase their data and sue for serious breaches of privacy, under a proposal to the Albanese government.
On Thursday the attorney general, Mark Dreyfus, will release a review conducted by his department into modernisation of the Privacy Act which calls to expand its remit to small businesses and add new safeguards for use of data by political parties.

Man, I miss the internet when you could just freely browse all sorts of niche blogs and fan sites without having to have an account anywhere... There was so much to explore! Now you need to have an account with Instagram and Tiktok before they'll let you see anything, or it's locked behind a paywall on someone's Patreon.
We used to "browse," like we were wandering free in a big pasture, and now it's a "feed," where someone keeps shoveling stuff into a trough in front of your face and you have to keep choking it down.
I miss "Free Range" internet is what I'm saying, I guess. Not this Content Factory Farming crap.

like i’ve said time and time again, i haven’t watched bbc merlin in years but i was just wondering when the first time merlin called arthur by his name to his face and im scrolling thru the transcripts on the fandom wiki (supposedly it was s1ep4 btw) and im skimming the script for all these episodes and getting angrier and angrier. gaius was wrong for all that. morgana deserved so much better. edwin muirden was valid as hell (for targeting uther AND gaius. yeah. i said it.). also kilgharrah ate with that one lil line “then turn a blind eye. that is, after all, your talent” okay lizard brain pop offff.

Just got dmed by a certain Koko Bot, and let me tell you, as someone who has, and still does, struggle with depression, suicidal thoughts, dysphoria, anxiety and more-
This is far from appreciated.
People struggling with mental health issues are not test subjects, they should not be put into study papers and the like without clear and informed consent, especially when it's very, frighteningly easy for their data to be identified back to them! This is disgusting, people are not being properly informed of what they are allowing themselves to be part of, they are being approached out of nowhere and completely unwanted by this bot, and their privacy is not adequately being protected!
Please, keep an eye out for this bot, and stay safe. Reach out to a helpline, to a hospital, to someone you can trust if you need help- I promise you, you are not a burden, so don't be afraid to do so. Just stay away from this bot. For your own safety.
Tumblr media
It appears as though it stops dming after you tell it to, judging by its own message. I am sceptical, and it shall remain to be seen. Block it just in case.
