The Power of Biometrics: Understanding Mobile Biometric Authentication and Its Impact
The growing complexity of cyberattacks has made it clear that the traditional username and password are no longer sufficient to protect your online accounts. To stay ahead of these threats, companies must adopt more advanced security measures. Mobile biometric authentication, which verifies identity using unique biological characteristics like fingerprints, facial recognition, or voice patterns, offers a robust and user-friendly solution. By enhancing security and improving the user experience, mobile biometric authentication is poised to become a cornerstone of modern digital security.

The Future of Passwords: Do We Really Need Them?
Passwords are one of the most common and widely used methods of authentication on the internet. They are supposed to protect our online accounts and data from unauthorised access and misuse. Passwords are increasingly becoming a source of frustration and insecurity for users and organisations alike. They are often easy to guess, hard to remember, and reused across multiple sites, making them…

Passwordless authentication is a type of authentication system that doesn’t use passwords. Instead, it typically uses an authentication factor such as a code sent to a mobile device, a one-time passcode, or biometric authentication. This article shows us how to use OpenID Connect to trust your cloud provider, enabling you to deploy quickly, securely, and safely while minimizing the operational overhead associated with secrets (for example, key rotations).

From Passwords to Passkeys: Transforming Authentication Security for the Modern World
Are you aware of the security risks posed by relying on passwords alone? Password reuse and sharing can lead to severe security breaches. However, the FIDO2 open standard and passkeys offer a solution by enabling passwordless authentication. This approach not only enhances security but also simplifies the user experience. CIAM platforms that integrate FIDO2 and passkeys support seamless passwordless authentication across web and mobile environments. Download this datasheet to understand how these technologies can transform your security measures.

I am dying at “turbogentrified”.
I am a similar level of tech bozo and between work and personal stuff I think I have approximately four physical tokens and at least four soft token apps. I promote multifactor authentication and passwordless authentication (things like faceid or authenticating with a fingerprint) all the time. I fully accept the need for 2FA for work but still hate how dependent I am in my personal life on my phone number and device not being broken.
I still think you should be allowed to exist and access services without a persistent phone number that can reliably get texts. For whatever reason - affordability, privacy, paranoia, being somewhere without reliable cell service - there need to be backup options for 2FA that aren’t the assumption that everyone can provide a cell number.
every genius who thinks mandatory two-factor authentication is a good idea should be forced to do tech support for a public library that serves a lot of elderly poor people

YOUR GATEWAY TO CUTTING-EDGE TRENDS/Airionvez.com
1. ROBOTICS:
Robotics is going to become mainstream. While there has been a lot of hype around robotics for some time, several hardware and software technologies are only now becoming mature enough. Agriculture is one of the first industries that will benefit.
2.BRAIN-COMPUTER INTERFACES :
Technologies that allow direct communication between the brain and external devices are advancing rapidly. These interfaces could have profound implications for medical treatments and human-computer interaction.
3.GENERATIVE- AI:
Tools like ChatGPT have popularized generative AI, which can create text, images, videos, and more from prompts. This technology is reshaping industries and driving significant investments from major tech companies.
4. HOMOMORPHIC ENCRYPTION:
Homomorphic encryption is an emerging technology that opens up possibilities that most people would view as unachievable. It can allow two parties to collaborate and compute something without revealing the secret data. This could open up countless opportunities that today are impossible or restricted.
5.CONVERSATIONAL AI:
It’s only a matter of time before Google or Amazon releases a version of their software that will be easily able to sustain a conversation with humans. And that’s when we are going to see massive adoption. While casually chatting with Alexa we will be able to perform tasks ranging from following basic food recipes to planning.
6. AUGMENTED REALITY:
Augmented reality has made a lot of progress over the last few years and may finally be ready for widespread adoption. In a warehouse fulfillment scenario, an AR display could easily guide employees to the location of products, ensure the correct items have been selected and even help efficiently pack the items for delivery.
7. PASSWORD LESS AUTHENTICATION:
The computer password was created in 1960 and is still at the forefront of authentication. It is also the leading cause of data breaches. Soon the password as we know it will cease to exist, and we’ll see widespread adoption of passwordless authentication. This is a big step toward catching authentication up with the technology that we know today.
8. AR/VR In Real Estate And Construction:
The use of artificial reality and virtual reality in the real estate and construction sectors will be a game-changer. Before you invest in fit-outs or construction, you can preview the changes with this technology and avoid incurring costs after changes are made.

Love everything about that article except the suggestion to switch to 'passwordless' authentications. No thank you I'm not letting you scan my face/fingerprint/other personally identifying features or do other untrustworthy shit on my device.
Me 5 seconds after my corpo mandated password change: Hey did you know mandated periodic password changes aren't considered good cybersecurity practice and in fact actually weaken password security? Just a funny little fact I thought you should know.
