United States 2018
-Just me trying to get familiar with this circuit before the weekend
-Oh also I’ve just realized they’ve finally added the halo this season
-Charles going up to Q3 in a Sauber, I know a qualifying genius when I see one
-Whyyy is Max starting p18
-Can I manifest a Daniel podium here or is that too ambitious?
-“This could be Kimi Raikkonen’s last chance to win a race with Ferrari” MAYBE he’d have had more chances if he didn’t have to always play the team game
-YESSS KIMI
-One Ferrari having a great start and another spinning around 90 degrees
-Wow people have already pitted lap one
-Wow Max is already up to p9
-Dammit Charles is down to p17
-Alonso out??
-Renault is 4th in the constructors?? How on earth!
-Red Bull is having a great race right now, I have an eerie feeling that’s all going to go away very soon
-“Lewis can win the championship today if he out scores Vettel by 8 points” I always somehow end up watching championship deciding races without meaning to
-Would be cool to see him win his 5th championship here though
-Yeahh, the feeling was right, Daniel is out
-“The man who smiles the biggest of all when he comes to Texas” AND HE WONT EVEN BE THERE THIS YEAR
-Screw you RB, VCarb and literally everyone else
-Virtual safety car and no one in the pit lane?
-Oh never mind, there’s a few people
-Oh is Lewis coming in too?
-Ahahah that bluff from Kimi
-Did Checo and Ocon ever stop squabbling? The answer I think, is no
-Somehow Max always makes overtaking a bunch of cars look so easy. How did he go up 14 whole positions that fast?
-“Let’s not do anything stupid” Yes Kimi!
-Let’s go!!! That was great defense!!!
-Ohmygod why defend like that only to pit
-Okay I’m just going to trust…the Ferrari strategists
-Going to un-curse RB for a second because that was some great strategy
-Please for once tell Sebastian to let Kimi through
-Yesss
-Verstappen p3!
-Sainz steadily making his way up the points
-It’s so funny watching the leaderboard and seeing Carlos fight Hartley and go from p9 to p8 to p8 to p9 while the commentators just talk about something else completely
-Sadly Charles has not gone up from p16
-George Russell!!
-Ah Charles has retired
-Ferrari playing the long game and it actually paying off??
-Lewis pitting, which apparently means the championship won’t be decided this race
-He came out p4 behind Bottas, which probably means he’ll get past him quite easily
-I actually need Kimi to win this race
“2044 days since he’s last won a race” Yes please win again now
-How are there 15 more laps? This race feels like it should be over now
-Max Verstappen: an interference for championship contenders since 2016
-Come on Sebastian, close that gap
-“Wouldn’t it be great for the romantics out there if Kimi wins the race here” Yes, yes it would be
-Oh god the top three are so close together
-“He’d actually be able to drink the champagne in the United States legally, because he’s 21 now” Haha
-So close togetherrrr
-This is nerve wracking
-Those zig-zag turns (I think turns 6-8) make everything look so much cooler
-Completely forgot there are others in this race aside from these three
-I’ve been trying not to say anything about Nico this whole time so as to not jinx him finally doing well, but there are only 5 more laps to go, so I should be okay (I hope)
-Anyway, Nico p6!!!!!
-Renault in general is doing well rn
-Carlos is right behind in p7
-If Lewis gets past Max, he wins the world championship
-I hope he doesn’t cause I need Kimi’s win to not be overshadowed rn
-Lewis can win the championship in the next race
-Milly Bobby Brown?? What are you doing here??
-Ohmygod!!! I don’t even have any words!! That fight between Lewis and Max was everything!! I had my hand over my mouth the whole time!!! I actually kinda need to see that again!
-Ohmygod Valterri going wide right after Lewis did, Sebastian up to p4
-Kimi Raikkonen Race Winner!!!!!!!
-Those last few laps were everything!!!!!!!
-Aww Kimi taking a moment in the car
-I’m almost in tears, that was amazing!!!
-Not Kimi asking Lewis if he won the championship or not 😂😂
-Aww the mechanics singing the Italian national anthem with such enthusiasm (reminds me of Monza this year)
-This race turned around so fast, it was actually perfect

life expectancy for individuals with Autism is 16 to 20 years lower than the general population
Hi there,
You are correct about the life expectancy. Mostly due to drowning and other accidents. According to an abstract from the Library of Medicine:
Research has shown that individuals with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) have higher rates of health problems throughout childhood, adolescence, and adulthood, and that this may result in elevated risk of early mortality. The present study reported the rate, timing, and causes of death in a large community-based cohort of adolescents and adults with ASD (n = 406) over a 20-year period (1998 – 2018), and identified predictors of mortality. Over this period, 6.4% of individuals died at an average age of 39 years. Causes of death included chronic conditions (such as cancer and heart disease), accidents (such as choking on food and accidental poisoning), and health complications due to medication side effects. Even after controlling for age and health status, significant predictors of mortality were early childhood levels of impairments in social reciprocity and high levels of functional impairments at the start of the study period. The results suggest the importance of social engagement and functional self-sufficiency across the life course, as well as adequate access to health care for individuals with ASD.
Another study reported:
Two recent studies will undoubtedly shock individuals and families affected by autism spectrum disorder (ASD). These studies show a much earlier age of death in those with ASD as compared with the general population.
One study, published in the American Journal of Public Health in April 2017, finds the life expectancy in the United States of those with ASD to be 36 years old as compared to 72 years old for the general population. They note that those with ASD are 40 times more likely to die from various injuries. About 28 percent of those with ASD die of an injury. Most of these are suffocation, asphyxiation, and drowning. The risk of drowning peaks at about 5 to 7 years old. As 50 percent of those with ASD wander, water safety and swim lessons are a must. GPS trackers are also available for purchase should a child wander or get lost. This makes finding the child or adult much easier and faster.
The other study was published by the British Journal of Psychiatry in January 2018. This was a Swedish study showing similar results but elaborating on other causes of death as well. This study showed a life expectancy in those with ASD with a cognitive disability (or a learning disability) at 39.5 years versus 70 years for the general population studied. Those with ASD without a learning disability had an average age of death at about 58 years. The leading causes of death in those with ASD in this large study were heart disease, suicide, and epilepsy. The suicide rate among those with ASD was 9 times higher than the general population. There have only recently been studies showing the increased risk of suicide in those with autism spectrum disorder. Future studies will help us to understand what causes this increased suicide risk so that we can help to fight it. It should also be noted that 20-40 percent of those with ASD have seizures compared to 1 percent of the general population, causing this increased risk of death by seizures.
As someone who has epilepsy and autism, I can’t help but live in fear every day. I never know when a seizure happens. I just wake up feeling off. Sometimes even hitting my head or other injuries.
I hope this helps. I hope you have a wonderful/night.

F1 and Biometrics
Biometric gloves came into play in F1 in 2018 to give medical teams immediate access to important information regarding driver conditions after an incident. It allows for vitals to be measured before, at the time of an incident and after the crash until they are rescued and more advanced monitoring is able to be applied. It is also a big help if a driver is involved in a crash that means they are not accessible straight away or cannot be visualized for monitoring so this allows teams to get immediate access to this information.
According to the FIA website, this was a difficulty by medical teams when Carlos Sainz crashed in the 2015 Russian GP where he hit the barrier head-on at 153km/h (roughly 95mph). The first row of the barrier was resting on top of him, so medical teams had to wait for this to be removed before they had access to him. Thankfully he wasn’t hurt during this crash, but medical teams didn’t know this initially as this technology wasn’t available and being used.
The sensors were basically made custom to F1 drivers. Regular sensors had not been fire tested and were not comfortable enough for the drivers to wear for long races. They use Bluetooth technology and can send data within a 500m and are powered by a small battery that drivers charge before races.
Drivers gloves have a 3mm sensor that is stitched into the palm of the fabric and monitors their vital signs during races. They measure pulse oximetry which measures the amount of oxygen being carried in the blood as well as drivers pulse rates. Obviously if a driver has an injury that is affecting their breathing, this will show in the saturations that would decline rapidly. Having this technology allows physiological readings and biometrics to be continuously monitored throughout the race from start to finish. Data from the sensor transmits to an iPhone app and gives medical crews remote and advance information on the driver’s condition. The small biometric readers are flexible and fire resistant up to 1,800 degrees Celsius (3,272 degrees Fahrenheit) for 22 seconds.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
In the future there are even plans to implement sensors for respiratory rate and temperature to further monitor drivers which will not only enhance safety features but allow teams and drivers to monitor performance better.
OMP, an equipment supplier, has been developing wearable biometric monitoring systems since the introduction of the biometric sensors in 2019. An undershirt equipped with sensors and a measurement unit would transmit and record biometric data allowing for real-time monitoring of health through ECG and thoracic expansion. This would allow monitoring of drivers heart rhythms and breathing rate which would not only benefit medical teams in the case of an incident but also help identify stress, fatigue and any alteration in conditions. This would be useful considering the amount of stress drivers have been put through in the past in hot countries for example Saudi Arabia GP 2023 when many drivers retired, had to be taken to medical, threw up in their helmets or passed out after the race.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
TV crews can also display biometric data during broadcasts to show the physical condition of a driver as they battle on track. However, there have been questions about the ethics and use of biometrics and why can’t we as an audience see drivers heart rates etc on screen if this data is being constantly collected. The FIA has strict guidelines about the use of raw biometric data. Section 2.4 of the FIA Guidelines for the Collection and Usage of Biometric Data in Motorsport, states that the use of biometric data can be used for more than just medical and performance monitoring and can be used for entertainment and marketing purposes but only if it is changed from raw data into a variable to protect the private health information of the driver. The FIA won’t allow the use of biometric data to be publicly available in the original form/ measurement unless the driver provides informed consent.
Essentially, driver onboard vitals are likely not to be available live due to strict laws on data protection and sharing health related information about drivers as it is protected health information. In the case of an accident or emergency, data is not allowed to be used even if the information is changed to protect the driver unless it is for medical and rescue use and post-accident information.
Sources: (x) (x) (x) (x) (x)
This also led me down a rabbit hole and found another study (it was anonymous but if you’re a sleuth you can probably take a guess at what F1 driver it was) where they monitored his heart rate during qualifying to see what his average was throughout the race to test the cardiovascular strain F1 drivers are put under!

Kelly Piquet Master Timeline - Part 17 (Even Kelly's nonsense is bigger in Texas)
Tumblr media
(Masterlist)
(I am so so sorry I couldn't think of another opening photo)
Hey guys, it's Flowergothic. Welcome to the first add-on to #kellytimeline! This is just a quick recap of the United States Grand Prix (as well as the shirt controversy that popped up today, including context on why some people are taking issue to it).
I'm gonna spend the rest of today making more of those mini-videos promoting the timeline, but focusing on the Piquet family in general. They'll drop the days leading up to the Brazilian GP.
Let's go!
As always, you can find the full timeline here.
--------------
2024
October 18-20, 2024: The 2024 United States Grand Prix. Max achieves poll position and wins the Saturday sprint race, his first victory since Austria. (Archive)
Kelly, Nelson Jr, and Nelson Jr’s wife accompany Max to the sprint race. Kelly posts several stories on Instagram celebrating Max’s victory, including a video of them kissing. The video is taken by Nelson Jr’s wife, and is criticized for looking staged and awkward.
A couple hours later, Kelly posts an ad video to her Instagram to promote the skincare company Clarins. Some comments point out how she intentionally posted the ad after Max’s victory for maximum engagement. Those comments disappear shortly afterwards. (Archive)
Max would finish the main race in third place. Kelly makes no posts about it and instead makes another post advertising Clarins. (Archive)
Coincidentally, Nara Smith and her husband are invited to this race as VIP guests. But, they visit and sit with the Aston Martin Aramco F1 team. Nara still doesn’t follow anything F1-related on her social media.
October 22, 2024: Nara Smith makes an Instagram post about her time at the USGP. Kelly likes the post and makes a reply, implying they met in person. Nara does not like or reply to Kelly’s comment, despite liking and commenting on other replies.
October 24, 2024: Kelly posts a recap of her time in Austin during the USGP. While it is mostly reuploads from her Instagram stories, it includes three angles of the kiss she and Max shared after the Saturday sprint race. People who question why in the comments, even jokingly, are met with hostility by Kelly fans. (Archive)
October 25, 2024: Kelly is revealed to be in Miami with multiple people, including her daughter. Her daughter’s school would have started fall break on or around October 23rd, just two days before. This leads to speculation that Kelly secretly brought her child to the states with her. (Archive)
October 28, 2024: Max releases exclusive merch ahead of the 2024 Brazilian Grand Prix. This is not without controversy, as some claim the colors used are the same colors associated with Bolsonaro (the justifiably controversial former president of Brazil several Piquet family members support, including Kelly). Others come to his defense, noting the colors are also on the Brazilian flag. (Archive 1, 2, 3)
The merchandise seems to be based off the iconic Brazilian football jersey, which has been tied (at least to an extent) to Bolsonaro and his campaign since he got elected in 2018. More information on the controversies surrounding it can be found here and here. (Archive 1, 2)

This was longer than I expected, but something I have been thinking about since Sunday:
I studied international relations when I was doing my master’s degree. My thesis was partly focused on the politicization of sports and what role athletes have in taking a stance on political issues with one of my case studies being formula one. So while I don’t claim to be an expert in the intricacies of sports and politics, it is something that I spent a lot of time researching.
Anyone who says sports (specifically formula one) aren’t political is lying. Focusing on just formula one, it is in its nature a political sport due to how international it is. Choosing where they race and where they don’t race is a political statement. Though that is a discussion for a different time.
The issue at hand is the Miami GP and the presence of a former US President currently going through multiple court cases as he runs for re-election. Which is a convoluted way to say Trump but that is his role in the situation.
Trump is not the first questionable political figure to attend a Grand Prix, nor will he be the last. But there is a key difference in those situations versus this one.
Putin has been present for the Russian GP and handed out trophies to drivers. The Saudi princes at the Saudi Arabian GP. Greg Abbott at COTA. These are just a few questionable political figures present at GPs that have interacted with teams/drivers. But they were there in a ceremonial role. Which personally I still have some issues with, but unlike Trump it was a part of their job, something that was unavoidable because they were head of state/governor.
Trump is not currently an elected government official despite McLaren’s original statement calling him “the President of the United States.” (That was actually a huge part of Jan. 6th and the insurrection, but regardless presidents are called “former president X” or sometimes just “president X” or if you want to be really formal “the former president of the United States” once they leave office. The key is very clearly saying that they are not a sitting president. However, you could call it me being nitpicky.”)
He is instead a former president who is actively running for re-election and had official campaign merch with his political slogan. He is not there for a ceremonial role, nor is he just enjoying the race. Because his presence with that hat is a political statement. The McLaren CEO, FIA president, F1 CEO, and a driver posing with him in pictures is a political statement. Trump in front of the McLaren garage as a crowd chants “USA! USA! USA!” Is a political statement. Not only are they political statements, they are endorsements of a presidential candidate.
And if you as a fan are trying to justify what happened by saying “oh they didn’t know all that” or “they were forced to do this” remember that McLaren F1 team is a multibillion dollar organization with a good PR/comms team, all the drivers have PR teams, the FIA is an international sporting organization with a good PR/Comms/Governance team, as is F1. They are also grown adults who can say no (2018 US Olympians refused to go to the White House — which is considered an honor for any athlete — after the Olympics and meet Trump when he was president). They all knew who he was, what he has done, and what he currently is doing and chose to make political statements.
The biggest issue is once again the FIA President. The FIA has fined drivers for making political statements about basic human rights and equality. The FIA has issued amendments to the regulations that banned political statements from drivers. The FIA President who has been present for all of that made a political endorsement in a presidential election at a Grand Prix.
Though that is not to say that Lando’s comments weren’t an issue. They were and he should be called out on that. Even if it was ignorance or lack of knowledge on his part. Zak Brown should also be called out for his part in this and how he was one of the biggest supporters for a ban on political statements. Stefano Domenicali should be called out for his part in this.
If you don’t call them out, they will never learn and things will never change

Post 1370
Christopher Ponce, Florida inmate T96991, born 1990, incarceration intake February 2013 at age 27, scheduled for release April 2029
DUI Manslaughter
In January 2018, Christopher Ponce was finally sentenced to prison. It was justice delayed. In 2013, Ponce had cut off a court-ordered electronic monitor and fled the United States.
Captured in Spain in 2016, Ponce was finally back in a Hillsborough County courtroom where aJudge sentenced him to 15 years in prison for DUI manslaughter.
Ponce initially pleaded no contest to the charges against him. But in the midst of an afternoon hearing, in which the testimony of relatives effected by his actions, he requested and was granted a change to plead guilty instead.
His admission of guilt could potentially affect the outcome of a set of lawsuits that have been filed against Ponce for the 2012 crash. That prompted words of caution from the Judge before he accepted Ponce's plea.
Ponce was drunk in the early morning of July 19, 2012, when he drove a 2012 Ford Fusion south in the northbound lanes of Interstate 275, near the I-4 interchange. He slammed head-on into a 2000 Ford Mustang carrying three friends.
The driver, 20-year-old William Angel, was killed. Jay Davis, then 20, was hurled through the Ford's windshield, landing atop the hot engine. Robert Newberry, then 22, was also severely injured.
Ponce was hospitalized, then arrested on a charge of DUI manslaughter and vehicular homicide. He was later released from jail after agreeing to wear an electronic GPS ankle monitor. A year later, he cut it off and fled.
Spanish police arrested Ponce three years later in 2016 as he tried to board a bus in the city of Almería, on the Mediterranean coast. He was carrying a fake Mexican passport.
Upon his release from prison, Ponce will serve 10 years' probation. He will be barred from driving for life.

How the advances of the 'Jet Age' helped five military planes break aviation records
Fernando Valduga By Fernando Valduga 12/18/2023 - 00:16in History, Military
The post-war era saw tens of thousands of fighters and bombers produced around the world. These five were revolutionaries.
The post-war era saw technological advances that made warplanes exponentially more powerful than before. Jet engines, radars and guided missiles made individual planes faster, more capable and more lethal than a squadron or more of its wartime equivalents. These advances in the "Jet Age" have led to some record advances - and breaking records.
Here are five military aircraft that have reached new heights in the areas of air combat, engine power, payload, resistance and large number built.
Tumblr media
Air-Air Combat Champion
Just 20 years after the end of World War II, the Vietnam War produced many surprises for the United States. The poor performance of third-generation fighters, such as the F-4 Phantom II and the F-105 Thunderchief, in air-to-air combat, against a smaller military power equipped with inferior aircraft, led engineers who designed fourth-generation fighters to again emphasize maneuverability rather than speed.
Tumblr media
The F-15 Eagle was designed purely as an aerial superiority fighter, with the design team operating under the principle of "not a kilo for air-to-ground", which meant that the plane was designed entirely for air-to-air combat, not to drop bombs. As a result, the F-15 has an incredible record of 104-0 in air combat, with 104 enemy aircraft shot down and zero Eagle losses. (However, the F-15s were lost due to ground-to-air missile firing, including a 2018 incident in Yemen).
youtube
This is probably the permanent record for a combat plane anywhere, at any time in history, in air-to-air combat. The alleged slaughter, on October 20, of a Houthi cruise missile by a Saudi fighter, probably carried out by an F-15, would indisputably be considered as another slaughter.
Climb time
Tumblr media
Sukhoi P-42, the Su-27 nicknamed Streak Flanker.
In addition to maneuverability, one of the most useful attributes of a jet fighter is the engine power. A fast jet with high acceleration capacity can approach the enemy faster, maneuver to an advantageous position more quickly and escape faster if necessary. Above all, it can gain altitude faster, which gives the fighter pilot not only a positional advantage, but also energy to spend on maneuvers.
In the 1970s, an F-15 Eagle nicknamed "Streak Eagle" reached an altitude record of 98,425 feet in just 3 minutes and 27.8 seconds after the brake was released on takeoff.
youtube
Even so, it had enough momentum to continue to climb to almost 103,000 feet before going down. The Streak Eagle also set a climbing record of 15,000 meters (49,212 feet) in 77.02 seconds.
In the 1980s, a modified Sukhoi Su-27 "Flanker" jet fighter, designated P-42, easily broke the record of 15,000 meters of the F-15, reaching the same altitude in 70.33 seconds.
Higher payload of bomber
Tumblr media
After World War II, the jet engine quickly replaced the piston engines. Jet engines could provide much more thrust, allowing heavier and faster aircraft and heavier payloads. The bombers, in particular, saw the amount of bombs they could carry fire. The B-52, first flown in 1952, broke records, with a single bomber capable of carrying the same cargo as two B-17 bomber squadrons.
The B-52 is the all-time champion in bomb payloads, with the manufacturer Boeing reporting that it can carry an impressive 70,000 pounds. Of the 76 B-52 bombers in service, 36 are capable of carrying up to 36 cruise missiles with AGM-86B nuclear warhead each.
All B-52s can carry GPS-guided JDAM bombs, laser-guided Paveway pumps, conventionally armed JASSM-ER cruise missiles, LRASM anti-ship missiles, Harpoon anti-ship missiles, Quickstrike naval mines and common and unguided "durre" bombs.
Flight without longer refueling
Tumblr media
All aircraft are restricted by distance and altitude. Factors such as payloads, climate and crew resistance can also affect the time a plane can remain in the air. Aircraft without pilots and without the life support equipment necessary to keep a pilot alive can dedicate this payload or range, giving unmanned aircraft a range advantage over manned aircraft. Therefore, it is no surprise that the military plane with a world record for non-stop flight does not even have a pilot.
In 2013, a U.S. Air Force high-altitude and long-term RQ-4 Global Hawk reconnaissance drone took off from Grand Forks Air Base and remained in the air for a record 34.3 hours. The aircraft, known as "Lady Hawk", also set an aircraft record with flight crew and exclusively female support.
Most produced combat jet
Tumblr media
If you want to look for the most produced jet fighter of all time, there are only two candidate countries: the United States and the former Soviet Union. The two countries were superpowers that led opposing blocks during the Cold War, and armed and equated not only their allies in NATO and the Warsaw Pact, but also non-allied friendly states. Although countries like France and Sweden built very good fighters, they did not even have close to the customer base ready for a superpower.
The most produced jet fighter is the Mikoyan-Gurevich MiG-21. Known as "Fishbed" by NATO, the MiG-21 was a fighter optimized for air-to-air combat, but it was also capable of limited air-to-ground missions. The jet was elegant and similar to a dart, with short and stuffy wings and an air intake from the engine in the nose. The fighter could reach a maximum speed of Mach 2 and carry up to four short-range infrared teleguided air-to-air missiles.
Tumblr media
According to the most detailed count available, the USSR built at least 10,158 MiG-21 jets, making it the most numerous fighter of the post-war era. The MiG-21 is also officially recognized by the Guinness Book of World Records in the category of largest production of military jet aircraft.

THE FORMULA 1 TAG GAME! 🏎️
rules. answer the questions below!
tagged by @vinvantae tagging: everyone that wants to do it, just say i tagged you. also, @goldsainz @formulaforza @carlosheinz @chrysanthemonza
Tumblr media
1. Who or what got you into F1?
-> my family! they've been enjoying motorsports for years so naturally, i ended up falling in love too. something about forced proximity lmaoo
2. Who was the very first F1 driver you supported? Do you support them now? Have your opinions on them differed or stayed the same since then?
-> kimi raikkönen!! as a child i would get really excited to see him on tv or on track, my parents said i recognized his car and all. i supported him always, followed his years out of f1 and all, he’s 100% my favorite of all time.
3. Who's your current favourite F1 driver?
-> i have two 2023/24 favorites: lewis hamilton and oscar piastri.
lewis has been a favorite of mine from the beginning, his racecraft has always been enjoyable to me. also, he’s one of the reasons why (alongside nico and schumi) i decided to support mercedes. he’s a big big inspiration for me, all of the things he has done are wonderful so i’ve never doubted him as one of my favorites.
oscar, on the other hand, is ofc a new addition to the ‘fav f1 driver’ list but is one that doesn’t surprise me! i saw him go up categories and loveeed his driving style. i was never a diehard fan but a supporter of his career for sure. when he got to f1 (and seb left) i knew who my new favorite was gonna be! (now i am, in fact, a diehard fan)
4. Is there a driver pairing or pairings you support? What made you attracted to that pairing in the first place?
-> not a pairing but…a boy band…
Tumblr media Tumblr media
they live on my head rent free, the videos (and the lore) were so funny (iconic). BUT, if i had to choose a pair, i would go for kimi and seb!! i had always wanted to see them as teammates bc of how well they got along, when it happened i was the happiest. also nico and lewis were my number ones back in the day and by consequence my biggest heartbreak.
5. Do your parents, siblings or relatives have a favourite team and/or favourite driver(s)?
-> everyone in the family likes something different. some have their special reasons but in general they vary.
dad’s favorites are mclaren, lauda, and senna, my oldest sister’s are mercedes and button, my older brother redbull and alonso, younger sister ferrari and verstappen (don’t even ask), and my mom’s favorites were ferrari, prost, schumacher, and häkkinen. <3
6. Do you have any favourite races? Are there any that stand out to you the most?
-> this is such a hard question but i’ll go for the ones i rewatch the most: united states 2018, canada 2011, suzuka 2005, abu dhabi 2010, turkey 2020, and germany 2019.
7. Do you have a favourite circuit? Can be from the past or from the current calendar.
-> hockenheim, suzuka, sepang, interlagos, istanbul, spa, silverstone. my lovers fr.
8. Have you ever been to an F1 race in real life? Feel free to tell us your experience going to one if you like.
-> i have! i went to my first gp when i was almost one year old, it was france 2003 — nevertheless, the first one i remember going to/experiencing (faintly but i do) is the 2007 brazilian gp!
i’m lucky enough to have gone to multiple over the years and i’m so grateful to my family for it. 2022 and 2023 were the first years i was able to go by myself or with my friends/colleagues to races! (i did go a couple with my family + i go with my brother everywhere but yeah) it’s been amazing!
9. Have you ever met an F1 driver in real life?
-> i’m very lucky to say yes, i have met a couple over the years and it’s been great! from the current grid i’ve met everyone but zhou and hülkenberg!!
10. Do you have a favourite F1 car? If so, what is it?
-> FW14B, MP4/4, W11, F2002, RB19 AAAAAAAHQHEUJW. i believe this question goes more towards the liveries but i love those cars, they were such a wonder and the WAY they were driven. ugh. amazing. i love rewatching their races.
11. Do you have a favourite one win wonder?
-> ok so, i would say george but since he’s still racing i’m not counting it. i’ll go with pastor maldonado. HEAR ME OUT. it was an insane day, i was ten but i still remember how crazy everyone felt there in barcelona, like what just happened. also insane to think about how it was pure pace, like yes he was lucky on saturday but sunday was his. ALSO having kimi on the podium is a huge bonus.
12. Do you have any favourite quotes from the F1 world? This can either be inspirational or hilarious.
-> “we have to remember these days. there is no guarantee they will last forever. enjoy them as long as they last.” — sebastian vettel, 2013.
“that’s for all the kids out there who dream the impossible, you can do it too.” — lewis hamilton, 2020.
“i’ve always believed that you should never, ever give up and you should always keep fighting even when there's only the slightest chance.” — michael schumacher, 2007.
“just leave me alone, i know what to do.” — kimi raikkönen, 2012.
“bwoah” — kimi raikkönen, always.

Every year people go missing in National Parks. The numbers are higher than you'd think. Find out which National Park has the most missing persons and why with technology advancing equipement does this number of reported missing people continue to grow? One particular case of murder is still unsolved.
The federal government does not track the exact number of missing persons in National Parks, but experts believe about 1,600 individuals mysteriously vanish each year while visiting National Parks throughout the United States. There is one park that the New York Post recently found in a recent investigation that is the deadliest in the country. According to the reporting, there have been at least 6 people found dead and a staggering 56 missing persons at Grand Canyon National Park. These reported missing persons have occured between February 2018 and June 2023. Once a person goes missing, they are added to a long list of disappearences. Many of the parks visitors are unaware of the mysterious cases of people who have simply, just vanished. One of those cases is a missing 22 year old hiker, Morgan Heimer. Morgan is a white male, 6"0 tall 175 lbs. Blonde hair. Lst seen wearing dark colored Astral personal flotation devoce. A blue plaid long sleeve shirt. He was last seen on Tuesday, June 2, 2015 around Colorado River mile 213 near Pumpkin Springs. The search for Heimer is continuous.
Many missing person cases stem from either a hiker being lost or unexpected inclimate weather. Lightening, snow storms and rising flood waters make situational awareness paramount, The first mistake is failure to plan. It is important to let someone knwo where you are going and exact itinerary. Solo hiking is discouraged but with an advance in digital maps, Garmins and other locational tools, it is hard to undertand why these numbers continue to rise. GPS tools are relied on for many hikers but many GPS systems do not work in many of the National Parks, especially remote ones. Many of the systems also don't reflect current conditions.
On June 1, 1996 two hiker/campers went missing in the Shenandoah National Park. Julianne Williams and Laura Winans were found murdered at their campsite. Williams was 24 and Winans 26. The girls were last seen hking together with a Golden Retriever named Taj on May 24, 1996. The dog was found wandering in the park near the Whiteoak Canyon Trail. The womens bodies were found in their campsite of the Bridle Trail, near Skyland Resort. The case has very little clues as to a motive and who could had committed such a brutal crime. Laura was found inside her tent. Julianne was in her sleeping bag about 40 feet away down an embankment. Their hands were bound, mouths gagged and their throats slit. Both girls were partially undressed nut not sexually assaulted. They have had a few suspects, one even arrested in the case but later overturned due to lack of evidence. As of current, this hanious cime remains unsolved. Any tips in the case you can call 888-653-0009
It is advised to always travel in groups, carry safety protection and a loud whistle. Always share with someone your plan and check weather reports. Many crimes in National Parks remain unsolved and rely on the publice to hopefully one day bring closure to some of their families.

The officer wrote that he believed the statements were “meant to threaten the insurance company by using the United Healthcare CEO’s homicide to her advantage.”
“Current environment”: Lakeland Police Chief Sam Taylor told NewsChannel 8 that Boston is not a child and should have known better.
“She’s been in this world long enough that she certainly should know better that you can’t make threats like that in the current environment that we live in and think that we’re not going to follow up and put you in jail,” Taylor said.
Taylor has since stopped talking to reporters about the matter as he awaits a decision from the State Attorney’s Office about whether the case will be prosecuted.
$100,000 bail: In court on Dec. 11, Judge Catherine Combee stated there is probable cause for the charge of “written threat to kill or injure and conduct a mass shooting or an act of terrorism,” a second-degree felony punishable by 15 years in prison.
“I do find that the bond of $100,000 is appropriate considering the status of our country at this point,” Combee said.
Combee allowed for Boston to be released on house arrest, but required a GPS monitor and said she would only be allowed to go to court, her attorney’s office, a religious institution, work and a once-a-week grocery shopping trip. She is also not allowed to speak to anyone at BCBS Florida. She is not allowed to possess a firearm or ammunition.
Boston posted $10,000 bond Friday to secure the $100,000 bail.
...
Experts: R. Fred Lewis, a retired Florida Supreme Court justice and current Florida Southern College professor, said upon hearing the facts of the case that it warranted charges. He said the U.S. Supreme Court established three tests a case must meet in order for a threat charge to be brought:
Does the suspect present a clear and present danger?
Is there an immediacy to the threat?
Does the suspect have the capability to carry out the threat?
END OF EXCERPT...
But!
Remember, when the police chief talks about these consequences like an inevitability, courts keep affirming that police have no obligation to protect private citizens. From 2018 and also in Florida:
Following last February’s shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida, some students claimed local government officials were at fault for failing to provide protection to students. The students filed suit, naming six defendants, including the Broward school district and the Broward Sheriff’s Office , as well as school deputy Scot Peterson and campus monitor Andrew Medina.
On Monday, though, a federal judge ruled that the government agencies “ had no constitutional duty to protect students who were not in custody.”
This latest decision adds to a growing body of case law establishing that government agencies — including police agencies — have no duty to provide protection to citizens in general:
“Neither the Constitution, nor state law, impose a general duty upon police officers or other governmental officials to protect individual persons from harm — even when they know the harm will occur,” said Darren L. Hutchinson, a professor and associate dean at the University of Florida School of Law. “Police can watch someone attack you, refuse to intervene and not violate the Constitution.” The Supreme Court has repeatedly held that the government has only a duty to protect persons who are “in custody,” he pointed out.
Anyway. Briana Boston's GoFundMe.

Moncks Corner, SC - A Bit of History
Moncks Corner, South Carolina, is a beautiful small southern town known for its rich history and charm. The town was named after its landowner, Thomas Monck, but it has been settled by indigenous people for thousands of years. The Edistow tribe, now the Wassamasaw Tribe of Vernertown Indians, inhabited the area before anyone else. Moncks Corner was a major hub of South Carolina's commerce during colonial times, with the Cooper River and rural roads providing an artery to the colonies in the backcountry. The Santee Canal, "America's first true canal," operated between the Santee and Cooper rivers from 1800 until the railway between Columbia and Charleston was completed in 1840. During its heyday, it moved goods up and down its 22-mile length, but its use slowly dwindled until its charter was revoked in 1850.
Corn Maze
The 20th anniversary of the Corn Maze will be celebrated in 2024, with a new 7.5-acre corn maze designed and mapped by MazePlay of Firth, Idaho, using the latest GPS technology. The maze is designed to challenge map-reading skills and offers a full 3-mile challenge or a kid-friendly 4-mile path. Smoking is not permitted on the property, and vehicles must stay within designated parking areas. Visitors must remain on the paths in the corn maze to keep themselves safe and the corn from growing back if knocked down. The ground is rough and uneven, and visitors must stay within designated roped-off areas for everyone's safety. There are no bare feet allowed due to rough terrain, stones, etc. Also, alcohol, drugs, or persons under the influence of either are not allowed.
Lottery Proceeds for Educational Support
The SC Education Lottery legislation mandates that lottery proceeds should be used to support educational improvements and enhancements as provided by the General Assembly. The Legislature decides how lottery funds are appropriated. According to the report, since its inception in 2002, the Legislature has appropriated over $5.4 billion through fiscal year 2018-19 in supporting various educational programs. Lottery numbers are unofficial until verified by the S.C. Education Lottery.
