This! Back in 2019 my sister and I worked together at a Dollar General and we had this person who was in a truck who was banging on the front doors. The store was shut down. The inside lights off. There was no way in hell that it looked like we were open. They were banging on the door again and again and again to the point my sister and I were terrified to leave, so we stayed... and waited them out. We made sure we clocked out, so we weren't on the clock and "stealing company money" and we still got in trouble. Our manager the next day bawled us out because we stayed. My sister was my shift supervisor, and so it was our Store Manager that bawled us out. She said we should have called the police instead of sitting there for a half an hour over the time we had clocked out to leave. We had no idea what this person was capable of. We had never had to deal with this shit before. We had no idea what the protocol would be - it wasn't covered in our training, so we peacefully stayed inside the break room and waited them out. We kept an eye out on the cameras because there was one pointed directly at the entrance and that's where their truck was parked. Once they left, we did too. We didn't like having to stay there. We didn't want to be there. We wanted to go home (which was less than 15 minutes away) so its not like we were relishing being there. From the stories above it sounds like the cops wouldn't have done anything other than shoo the person away anyway... so its not like we would have gotten out of there any sooner I'm sure. Even though our store was in a rural area. Gotta love how retail and fast food workers get less protection than insurance Customer Service Workers. We're all service workers, we all deserve the same level of protection. Just because the CEO of an insurance company got shot doesn't mean the rest of us should be left for dead. JFC.... that lady had just used the words. She didn't even really know what it meant and now she's in prison. I really shouldn't be all that surprised. Its the US. No longer the land of the free and the home of the brave. Its the land of corrupted, home of the greedy CEO.
I think there's something to be said that saying the words "Deny, Defend, Depose, you're next" to an insurance sales rep can get you arrested for 'threats of mass homicide' or whatever with a threat of 15 years in prison
But when I was a manager in a fast food restaurant I've had customers throw food at me, demand for my personal phone number with an added threat of "Well I'll just have to FIND it", customers charging past the front counter to physically intimidate me and my coworkers, screaming and swearing, demands to know what time I get out of work, demands to know when my manager would be at work as a threat, people sitting in their car waiting for me to finish closing because they were angry at me, causing me to stay in the office watching the camera waiting for them to drive away...
But none of those incidents are arrest-able offenses, not one, any time I called the cops on any customer I would just hear excuses like " "there isn't anything illegal about calling a restaurant", that nothing physical happened and therefore there's nothing they could do, to call back and let them know if anything else happens
Idk, just think it's A TEENY TINY BIT ODD
Cop in the news goes "words have consequences" as if people don't berate and threaten fast food and retail workers every day

Seems like Luigi's charges were upgraded to Federal after they found out his parents could buy him good lawyers.

“It seems like almost all of those people don’t have HIV,” said Jennifer Kates, HIV policy director at KFF, a health-research nonprofit. “If they did, that would be substandard care at a pretty severe level,” she said.
Ya’ll. United Health just got accused of $17 billion in medicare fraud.
Basically they made up diagnosis which are improbable or impossible, “forgot” to remove ones which had been cured, and overall allegedly stole billions from taxpayers.
The government pays insurers a base rate for each Medicare Advantage member. The insurers are entitled to extra money when their patients are diagnosed with certain conditions that are costly to treat.
… About 18,000 Medicare Advantage recipients had insurer-driven diagnoses of HIV, the virus that causes AIDS, but weren’t receiving treatment for the virus from doctors, between 2018 and 2021, the data showed. Each HIV diagnosis generates about $3,000 a year in added payments to insurers.
… He said internal company data for 2022 showed a treatment rate for patients UnitedHealth diagnosed with HIV of more than triple what the Journal found. He said the pandemic disrupted care, lowering treatment rates during the period analyzed by the Journal, and that the analysis failed to account for patients who started treatments in future years.
The Medicare data, however, show UnitedHealth’s patients with insurer-driven HIV diagnoses were on the antiretrovirals at low rates even before the pandemic, and hardly any started the drugs in the years after UnitedHealth diagnosed them.

I bet United Health really wishes it was a different week right now.
UPDATE/EDIT: Article is from July. I didn’t notice myself since it came up in my news feed. Don’t always trust the internet to be time accurate. 😎My guess is it is getting promoted due to current events. However, there are some updates concerning actions taken based on the report which you can look into by checking the authors’ other articles.

Maybe if they give the NYPD another 10 billion dollars they can tell apart a grey jacket from an olive green one

NYPD: We’re asking for the public’s help identifying this suspect.
Every New Yorker: I never seen ‘em.
NYPD: We haven’t even shown you the photo yet.

KOSA IS BACK, CALL YOUR REPRESENTATIVES
12-10-24
Those fuckers are making another big push for Kosa again and its just as bad as ever. This bill would give the government complete control of ehat people get to post on the internet with absolutely no oversight or anykind of democratic process. Its entire goal is to stomp out LGBTQ+ spaces, control what everyone in america gets to see and monitor your every move online. And if it passes now its garunteed to be used by the Trump administration.
They are pushing hard, push back harder
Call your congressmen and senators. Even if theyre republican and tell them your worried about democrats having this in the future or vice versa. Lie if you have to just appeal to whatever side they're on.

This just goes to show how many liberals are just posturing to look morally superior. It's just following a trend to y'all. The NYPD shares the killer's face, and suddenly the ACAB crowd is doing their bidding by sharing the photos everywhere. But don't worry! They're doing it to show support by making fan edits of him!

someone we can't find, shot the CEO of united health and is now celebrate as a vigilante Hero. So before people think they can get away with an act of justice we just arrest a rando with a questionable Internet history.
People start asking questions? Just manufacture a "Drone Crisis" in New York.

i have a bit of a wild idea: what if the backpack found in central park contained all the stuff they supposedly found luigi mangione with? it makes the story make a lot more sense: the shooter threw out the backpack to dispose of it, which the fbi then took and used to frame luigi mangione. it would also be a way for the shooter to get the manifesto out to the public. i might be onto something here (or maybe not im not a detective)

I wonder how all the Commies who defended the shooting of Brian Thompson feel now knowing they defended a right-wing kook.
Can't be good for their "street cred".
