🇵🇸DALLAS🇵🇸Genocide Joe will be arriving in our city TOMORROW, January 8, but he is NOT welcome here while Palestinians face a genocide that is funded and fully supported by the United States.
Join us on Monday at Love Field Airport at 1pm! Latecomers welcome! We will be protesting there awaiting Biden’s arrival!
Due to confusion about various fliers being promoted at the same time, we would like to clarify that we are NOT calling for a rally at Eddie Bernice Johnson’s wake and any other fliers for actions on Monday have no affiliation with the PYM. Any flyer circulated without the PYM logo is not sponsored by the PYM.
***
For the past 90 days, more than 20,000 Palestinians have been killed by Israel’s genocide in Gaza. Every single day, hundreds more are killed or displaced while Genocide Joe’s government–which bankrolls Israel’s occupation of Palestine to the tune of $3.4 billion per year using American tax-payer dollars–fully backs these crimes!
Genocide Joe has the blood of 20,000 Palestinians on his hands, and we will NOT let him forget it when he arrives on Monday. In Dallas alone, hundreds of our community members have lost family and loved ones in Gaza. If we don’t get justice, Biden will not get peace!
On Monday we will be continuing to demand that Palestinians in Gaza get a ceasefire NOW, that the U.S. end its complicity in zionism, for an end to the siege on Gaza, for an end to the occupation of Palestine, and for the release of all Palestinian prisoners! Join us!

Federico Faggin: Bridging Microprocessor Innovation and Quantum Consciousness
Federico Faggin, an Italian-American physicist, engineer, inventor, and entrepreneur, demonstrated an early interest in technology, which led him to earn a degree in physics. Faggin began his career at SGS-Fairchild in Italy, where he developed the first MOS metal-gate process technology. In 1968, he moved to the United States to work at Fairchild Semiconductor, where he created the MOS silicon gate technology. In 1970, Faggin joined Intel, where he led the development of the Intel 4004. He also contributed to the development of the Intel 8008 and 8080 microprocessors. In 1974, he co-founded Zilog, where he developed the Z80 microprocessor. Faggin later became involved in other ventures, including Synaptics, where he worked on touchpad technology. Faggin's deepening interest in consciousness began during his work with artificial neural networks at Synaptics. This interest led him to explore whether it is possible to create a conscious computer, ultimately steering him towards philosophical inquiries about the nature of consciousness and reality. In 2011, Faggin founded the Federico and Elvia Faggin Foundation to support research into consciousness. Faggin has developed a theory of consciousness that proposes that consciousness is a quantum phenomenon, distinct and unique to each individual. His theory is influenced by two quantum physics theorems: the no-cloning theorem, which states that a pure quantum state cannot be duplicated, and Holevo's theorem, which limits the measurable information from a quantum state to one classical bit per qubit. According to Faggin, consciousness is akin to a pure quantum state—private and only minimally knowable from the outside. Faggin's perspective suggests that consciousness is not tied to the physical body, allowing for the possibility of its existence beyond physical death. He views the body as being controlled by consciousness in a "top-down" manner. This theory aligns with an idealist model of reality, where consciousness is seen as the fundamental level, and the classical physical world is merely a set of symbols representing a deeper reality. His transition reflects a broader quest to reconcile technological advancements with the philosophical and spiritual dimensions of human existence.

World's First Desktop Computers Unearthed in London House Clearance! Apart From These Two Found, There is One Other Q1 Computer in the World.
— Sejal Sharma | February 19, 2024
A Q1 Computer
Tech enthusiasts and history buffs are in for a treat.
An iconic piece of computing hailed as the world's first true microcomputer, was recently spotted at an exhibition by Kingston University.
Not one, but two Q1 Microcomputers were found during a house cleanup by the company Just Clear in London. It’s surprising because these babies weren’t popular in Britain, with only a handful of units crossing the pond.
“It is a real bonus being able to feature two Q1s – the world’s earliest microcomputers – at Kingston University," said Paul Neve, an expert in early computers and a senior lecturer at Kingston University.
The Q1s were all the rage when launched in 1972 and played a big role in shaping today's computing world.
Surprisingly, only three of these computers are known to exist today, and two of them were found buried under boxes during the cleanup.
A couple of days ago, nestled among over 60 vintage computers from the 1970s, 1980s, and 1990s, the Q1, with its distinctive orange screen and typewriter-like appearance, made it to the exhibition titled ‘Creating the Everything Device,’ which was celebrating the early evolution of computing.
The Q1 made its commercial debut in December 1972 under the banner of the Q1 Corporation in the US. Daniel Alroy owned the New York-based Q1 Corporation, which made history by creating the first complete microcomputer system with its screen and keyboard.
It Used The Intel 8008 Processor
The Intel 8008 processor was one of the earliest microprocessors developed by Intel Corporation. Introduced in April 1972, it was an 8-bit microprocessor and one of the first of its kind.
The 8008 had a clock speed of 200 kHz and could execute around 60,000 instructions per second. Today's processors operate at much higher clock speeds measured in GHz (billions of cycles per second) compared to the 200 kHz of the Intel 8008.
As an 8-bit processor, it processes data in 8-bit chunks. In contrast, modern processors have much wider data paths, typically 64-bit or more, allowing them to handle larger amounts of data simultaneously and perform more complex calculations.
Although it had limited computing power compared to modern standards, the Intel 8008 was groundbreaking at its release. It was used in various applications, including early personal computers, calculators, and industrial control systems.
“The early pioneers in the 1970s and 1980s laid the foundation for today’s everything device – the modern computer now so ubiquitous in everyday life,” said Neve.
“We rely on computers for our work, communication, productivity and entertainment, but without the early trailblazers none of these would exist. There would be no PCs, no Macs and no Apple or Android phones without Q1 Corporation, Sinclair and Acorn,” added Neve.
The 8008 processor paved the way for subsequent developments in microprocessor technology, leading to more powerful and versatile chips in the following years.
In 1977, Q1 Corporation also released an updated version called Q1 Lite, which became popular across Europe in countries like Holland 🇳🇱 , Germany 🇩🇪, Denmark 🇩🇰, and Sweden 🇸🇪.

World's first microcomputer goes on display alongside range of other vintage computers in public exhibition at Kingston University The world’s first true microcomputer – the Q1 – is currently on display at a special public exhibition at Kingston University showcasing the early decades of computing. The exhibition, entitled Creating the Everything Device, features more than 60 computers from the 1970s, 1980s and 1990s –all predecessors of today’s modern technology. Two Q1 microcomputers are on show, including the original model which looked like a typewriter with a distinctive orange screen and operated using an Intel 8008 processor. Considered the first true microcomputer, the Q1 was the first to be commercially produced. Manufactured by the Q1 Corporation in the United States in December 1972, only a few Q1s were imported into Britain. It is believed the two on display in the exhibition could be the only surviving models in the country. #q1 #q1corporation #a1istech #tech #news #ретро #старыепк #пк #персональныекомпьютеры

Bill Gates, creator of Microsoft
William Henry Gates III, better known as Bill Gates, is an American tycoon, businessman, CEO, investor, philanthropist and author, who became known for founding, along with Paul Allen, Microsoft, the largest and best-known software company in the world. in terms of market value. Born: October 28, 1955 (age 67 years), Seattle, Washington, USA. Children: Phoebe Adele Gates, Jennifer Katharine Gates, Rory John Gates. Spouse: Melinda Gates (from 1994 to 2021).
Bill Gates
Childhood and youth
Gates was born into a middle-class Seattle family. His father, William H. Gates, was a corporate attorney, and his mother, Mary Maxwell Gates, was a professor at the University of Washington and director of banks. Bill Gates and his two sisters, Kristanne and Libby, attended the best private schools in their hometown. Bill Gates, was admitted to the prestigious Harvard University, but dropped out of Mathematics and Law courses in the third year, to dedicate himself to Microsoft. At the age of 17, he developed, together with Paul Allen, software for reading magnetic tapes, with vehicle traffic information, on an Intel 8008 chip. With this product, Gates and Allen created a company, Traf-o-Data, but the customers gave up the business when they discovered the age of the owners.
Altair 8800
Rise while studying at Harvard, the young people developed a BASIC language interpreter for one of the first personal computers to be released in the United States — the Altair 8800. After a modest success in commercializing this product, Gates and Allen founded Microsoft, one of the first companies in the world focused exclusively on the market of programs for personal computers or PCs.
The first "personal computer" was the Kenbak-1, released in 1971. It had 256 bytes of memory and was advertised in Scientific American magazine for $750; however, it had no CPU and was, like other systems of the time, designed for educational use (that is, demonstrating how a "real computer" worked). In 1977 the first microcomputer as we know it today was launched.
In the 1980s, IBM, leader in the large computer market, decided to enter the microcomputer market with the PC, but the Operating System was missing. For this, it signed a contract with the newly created Microsoft. However, Microsoft didn't own the software yet. The young Bill Gates went to a small company that had developed the system for the Intel processor and decided to buy it, paid around US$ 50 thousand, customized the program and sold it for US$ 8 million, keeping the license of the product. This would become MS-DOS.
Microsoft headquartes
It was founded in 1975 by Bill Gates, then 19 years old, in partnership with Paul Allen. The company's first commercial product was Altair BASIC for the MITS Altair (Micro Instrumentation Telemetry System), produced in the same year. In 1980 the company took a decisive step by acquiring the 86-DOS operating system from Seattle Computer Products. In 1998 Gates promoted Steve Ballmer, a longtime friend, to the post of president of Microsoft and publicly took a less active role in the company's decision-making processes. On March 2, 2005, he was knighted Commander Knight of the British Empire. Bill Gates announced on June 16, 2006 that he would progressively step down as director of Microsoft until 2008, in order to be able to take charge of the charitable foundation Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. On June 27, 2008 Bill Gates withdrew definitively from Microsoft to dedicate himself entirely to his philanthropic projects. Even having announced his retirement from Microsoft, in practice Bill Gates will continue to dedicate 20% of his time (one day a week) to matters related to Microsoft. He continues to serve as chairman of Microsoft and adviser on the development of key projects. He will just not be in the day-to-day decisions and will devote more time and energy to his work related to health and education at the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.
