Last July, The Intercept obtained an internal Bank of America memo that stated “we hope the ratio of job openings to unemployed is down to the more normal highs of the last business cycle.” Translated into English, this means the bank was rooting for there to be fewer job openings. Likewise, a California real estate CEO said on an earnings call last year that a recession could be “good” if “it comes with a level of unemployment that puts employers back in the driver seat and allows them to get all their employees back into the office.” Around the same time, an anonymous Texas businessman told the Dallas branch of the Federal Reserve about his delighted anticipation that “the workforce pulls its head out of its rear when a correction or recession makes jobs scarce and people start to feel the pain or fear of not providing for their family and loved ones.” He did have one concern, however — that the government might “jump back into the fight and pay them to do nothing again.” Even Janet Yellen, the current secretary of the Treasury and former chair of the Fed during the Obama administration, wrote this in a 1996 memo: “Unemployment serves as a worker-discipline device because the prospect of a costly unemployment spell produces sufficient fear of job loss.”

sometimes the words ‘i love you’ don’t cut it out when it comes to replicating the emotion that your husband!satoru feels for you. the words ‘i love you’ don’t show his need for doing anything in the world to please you, no matter it’s difficulty. i love you doesn’t serve justice to the way he’d row his way to where the pacific and Atlantic meet and mix the oceans together, ignoring the differences in densities, or would split the moon in half with a click of a finger because a man can do anything the moment he witnesses your sugar sweet smile.
husband!satoru sometimes feels utterly disappointed when you refuse to let him spoil you, refuse to let him build a rocket out of his love and fly you both to the same moon that he talks to every night about you to the point that the moon would call your name, but don’t be surprised, just satorus antics.
can you blame the man for being obsessed with you though? you’re the only person who’s ever seen him for him. your the only person that teases him back, your smart ass reply’s take a lot of his will power to stop him from tossing you onto his shoulder and taking you straight to the bedroom.

I’m stuck. Like, existentially stuck. Small town, no job opportunities, flaky family, you name it. I’ve got potential, big dreams, and a LOT of free time—but absolutely no way to use any of it unless I can raise enough money to finally invest in myself
To start chopping away at my larger goal, I only need to raise $278 a month. I've been putting off begging for a while now out of hope I could still find a job to cover that easily, but I'm switching gears
I'm deciding to free up time I was spending job hunting to just fixing things with my own hands. It'll be slow but I've made a lot of progress doing things on my own in the past and I'm ready to start again, but I also can't leave the money on the backburner anymore.
Please help me!

For every vacant job in Canada, there are 2.4 unemployed people. That was the picture recorded from April to June in Canada, according to Statistics Canada’s second-quarter report on job vacancies. Vacancies have steadily fallen since the glut of nearly one million open posts in 2022. At the time, one in three businesses had trouble hiring staff due to a labour shortage. Two in five had issues finding skilled staff, and one in four would have to fight to keep them. The agency says available wages, which may have been lower than what prospective employees were willing to accept at the time, could have limited hiring. Some businesses also said they were weathering a spike in retirements among boomer-aged workers.

Common courtesy would be nice...
Not going to lie here. When the one interviewer cancelled due to me having a tech issue? I sobbed.
I contacted them.
No response.

Canada's unemployment rate is just the latest economic indicator flashing red. It climbed to 6.6 per cent last month. Excluding the volatile swings of the COVID era, that's the highest it's been since 2017. And economists say the malaise in the jobs market is deepening. "Layoffs are also rising under the surface. And a down-drift in job openings signals that hiring demand from businesses is still slowing," wrote RBC's deputy chief economist Nathan Janzen in a note to clients. In fact, the whole economy is still slowing.
