#Undoing Listening

It's actually so important that Silco's last words to Jinx were "You're perfect". It might seem strange at first, because people who are about to die usually say something like "I love you" or smth to their loved ones, but Silco using this particular phrase shows how deeply he understood her. He knew that no matter how much love he would pour onto her, she'll still perceive herself as a "jinx", a failure. That's why he trusted her with so many missions, why "Jinx will deal with this" became a routine phrase in Silco's office. He wanted her to feel needed, to be perceived as reliable and strong. So what is she gonna think after she accidentally killed her father? That she's a jinx after all, that even when someone loved her so deeply and unconditionally she still failed him. That's why he chose to say "You're perfect". So she could remember THESE words, so in her head this traumatic experience won't be associated with failure, with someone dying because of her love, making her think of herself as even more "cursed". He knew this would ruin her and she'll never be able to move on. So, he chose his words very carefully, like only a truly caring and loving father could. He will always protect her, even it's just his words in her memory.

Omg I literally just read undoing fate and I absolute loved it!! Time to re read everything while listening to “No one noticed” by The Marias for the angst to extra angst.

I am wondering though, in the og timeline when the reader is dying and asks through the comms for help, did no one really hear her? Or did someone hear her but they were to “busy” didn’t wanna deal with another screw up from reader

Please almighty sci share your comic wisdom. I wanna get back into the deadpool comics but haven't really read any in like 5 years. What are the best runs in your opinion

i did sing praise to deadpool / wolverine wwiii, so - that's a good one. tear-jerker. really very good.

if you haven't read all the oldies, they're still fun! way (problematic but introspective) kelly (problematic but endearing) or nicieza (problematic but fucks nasty)

it's really, really difficult for me to say what my favourite deadpool run is because they're all a mixed bag - i pick and choose my favourite bits and pieces. but my favourite book always has been circle chase - my darling peaked so early.

natlan 5.1 was batshit insane but i won't deny cookery when i see it. last 1/3 of the archon quest is just brilliantly done in my opinion, from writing to level design to soundtrack. just genuine excellence

Dorian is the kind of boyfriend who spoils in every way imaginable because he just loves Manon so much????

Like, he knows how hard she is on herself and how she just works constantly (trying to get the approval of a grandmother who would never utter a word of kindness at her yet she keep pushing herself)

Dorian knows he can’t stop her, so he tries what he can while she works herself to the point of exhaustion.

He loves cooking. And he especially loves of when he cooks for Manon (because often times she doesn’t turn him down and actually eats the food he makes)

When he wants to order food he doesn’t even ask if she wants anything because her answer would be ‘no’ and he doesn’t work with that.

He also loves baking!!! Tho Manon is not into sweet things but he still makes cookies (which she loves because the way Dorian makes them is ‘unique’ and they’re about the only cookies she’ll eat ever)

Dorian makes sure Manon stops working at some point during the night and just… relax. He made a small rule: she has until he finishes cooking dinner to finish work, because from that point on she is his to spoil. It starts with food, then a hot bath followed by either reading in bed or watching a movie (they take turns picking) he just focuses these few hours on Manon and makes sure she’s relaxed and that she goes to sleep at a reasonable hour

He hates it when her grandmother calls in the evening. After these phone calls Manon is usually feeling bad and she ends up staying in the office well into the morning. No matter what he says or does, she doesn’t leave the room. She doesn’t eat, doesn’t sleep and just power through whatever shit her grandmother said to her. It usually takes 2-3 days of her being like this until she crashes from exhaustion.

Speaking of, Manon is terrible at being sick. For all her life, her grandmother has drilled into her that sickness is a weakness and weakness is not acceptable in a Blackbeak. When she was younger, any time she got sick, her grandmother didn’t want to know about it. She’d isolate her in her room, ordering her to stay there and not come out until she is recovered because she doesn’t want to deal with her or her sickness (doesn’t have the time for it) so Manon grew up brushing sickness aside and carrying on like nothing is wrong. Dorian learned that nothing he says will change her mind, and unfortunately he has to wait it out. She either gets better in her own (rare) or get worse to the point of passing out and that’s when he interferes. It’s still something they’re working through, but the fact remains: Manon doesn’t let sickness stop her, not unless she’s actually unconscious.

One time she got a cold and recovered, except for the cough which stayed persistent for well over a month. She thought nothing of it, it would clear out on its own. But it didn’t, Dorian could have sworn it got worse. It got to the point where Manon was having difficulty breathing to get her to finally see a doctor. Turns out she had contracted an infection and it took her about three weeks of hospitalization to get over it.

Dorian really hates her grandmother but he also knows that she’s her only family and the sole parental figure she had her whole life. She won’t cut her off or stop talking to her.

So he decided to be the opposite of that; whatever damage the old woman did, he will be there, offering his unconditional love and support because Manon deserves the world and none of the unnecessary harshness her grandmother keeps subjecting her to

You know what, I'm still working on the next chapter(s) so I don't think there will be a bkdk fix it update for Christmas BUT

I have had a thought and I don't know if anyone has considered this yet, but

I'm thinking about the time AFTER 430, when Izuku is given his suit by AM, and I'm assuming Katsuki was there as well.

What about Izuku's first time trying on the suit? I imagine that AM would be there, kacchan, and likely Mei and/or Mellissa, at least on video call.

Have we ever thought of the first time that Katsuki SEES IZUKU in the suit, that he has spent 8 years and a lot of money and passion to fund and, I'm guessing, help design himself?

For some reason (brainrot, likely) I'm seeing it like one of those moments in the princess movies where she comes out in their iconic dress, and the prince turns, and sees her there, jaw dropping, instantly falling in love, soft romantic music playing in the background, the WHOLE 9 YARDS.

Just, Katsuki turning and after 8 long years, finally seeing Izuku back in his Hero suit, but it's one that HE made happen. Watching as Mei and Melissa run through all of the functions and seeing Izuku use all of the replica Quirks one by one. Katsuki just admiring everything, the fit, the colors, the joy on Izukus face...

The amount of pride Katsuki feels, but also, how fucking ENAMORED with the image of Izuku in the suit he is. How absolutely SMITTEN he is. How much he can't wait to be fighting crime with Izuku again.

Just imagine Katsuki being a besotted Disney prince at the mere sight of Izuku wearing the new suit for the first time.

And just after that I imagine is when that 430 shot of Katsuki holding out his hand.
