Ok so @redstonedust made THIS POST about it seeming like many people had a bedroom in scarland EXCEPT scar, which made me draw this lil thing of him just sleeping on a random scarland bench:

But it was lowkey so sad so aqua was like what if impulse found him while on a nightly round to check the evening announcement and saw scar and REFUSED to let him sleep on a bench anymore!!! And luckily enough, he’s got a brand new office right nearby with a big ol bed for all of them!! And who would Scar be to pass up Impulse cuddling to boot??

three months later

“i haven’t seen haechan this happy in months.” mumbled jeno, watching the scene unfolding across from him. there you were, animatedly explaining some workplace drama to haechan, who definitely wasn’t paying attention to anything coming out of your mouth, too busy staring at you with hearts in his eyes.

“i know, right… it’s disgusting.” renjun deadpanned.

“c’mon jun, acting like you weren’t also rooting for them back in school.” mark chided. “he finally got his shit in order, now look at him, like a lovesick puppy.” he teased.

“are you guys gonna keep to one corner for your date the entire afternoon or are you gonna tell us how haechan finally romanced you.” chenle sighed, waiting impatiently for the story.

“oh he romanced me alright,” you gushed, ready to fill them in, while haechan only grumbled, sinking in his seat, not wanting them to know the nitty gritty details of three weeks prior when he finally asked you out.

“so are we gonna go on a date yet or what?” haechan couldn’t hide the jittery excitement even if he tried, his leg bouncing like he was ready to jump at any moment now.

it had been two months since you made up with him, accepting his apology, and vowing to rekindle your friendship at the very least.

“hm… well i don’t know, i haven’t been properly asked…” you sigh dramatically, looking around with a rather bored expression. something finally clicks in his brain, you can almost see in the corner of your eye, a lightbulb over his head flickers.

what does he do?

“oh my dear y/n, please please please please can i take you out on a date? y/n i promise, cross my heart, swear on my nintendogs, i will make it worth your while i will wine and dine you so hard, we could do a classic romantic dinner and a movie i heard inside out 2 is doing super well right now… would you do me, lee donghyuck, the honor of going on a date with me?” the room is silent save for the literal panting he was doing, having said it all in one breath, on his knees, hands clasped together as he begged for a proper date.

your mouth was agape, you should’ve expected such theatrics from haechan, but it wasn’t any less surprising to hear such a sincere level of dedication and desperation.

“inside out 2 sounds like a good plan,” you murmur, which is immediately met with haechan doing a victory dance of sorts.

“check out romeo!” even jisung took part in the teasing, making haechan’s ears burn bright red.

“okay, cut it out! i thought it was cute, that’s all that matters.” you pouted at their relentless teasing.

“i thought that was a great way to ask someone out, i expect nothing less from a real man!”

“sure, jaemin.” renjun muttered.

“it’s fine, y/n,” he grabs your hand softly, “i can put up with the jokes, as long as i’m yours.”

“barf.”

“renjun!”

haechan’s mind was a whirlwind, clouded with confusion and anger.

you were pregnant? with mark’s baby?

how could you do this to him and not even tell him? how long had you planned on hiding something so important? he thought he meant more to you than that.

a week later, at taeyong’s birthday, he saw you again. the sting of betrayal still fresh, he approached without a care for what had went down between you two. the sight of you nursing a beer alone made his blood boil. he scoffed, startling you out of your daze.

“what?” you asked, eyes narrowing as you looked up at him.

“isn’t it a bit irresponsible to be drinking right now?” the disdain on his face was unlike anything you’d ever seen from him.

“excuse me? you’re not my dad,” you sneered, trying to mask the hurt and confusion with anger.

he let out a bitter laugh. “well, mark’s about to be one, and yet he’s left you all alone.”

“what the fuck are you going on abou—”

“you know, it’s real bold, funny even, the way you basically jumped around the friend group, just to get knocked up.” his words were like daggers, the room spinning as they sank in.

“y-you think i’m pregnant? with mark’s baby?” your voice cracked, but he didn’t seem to notice or care.

“why else would you be seen several times at the clinic with him then, huh?” he barked. “could’ve had the decency to tell me at least, especially after you confessed—”

his tirade was cut off by your choked sob.

“i was sick! i’m not fucking pregnant, donghyuck, especially not with mark.” you heaved, feeling your world crumble. “i left with mark and renjun because i was so stressed i got sick. and even if i was pregnant, i would have zero obligation to tell someone like you. i was sick, and i wanted to tell you first, but you cast me aside.” he faltered, mouth agape, no words forming as you continued.

“i tried to talk to you, but you stopped caring, you stopped responding, you stopped showing up. i couldn’t drink until the tests were cleared, not because i was pregnant.” your voice was raw with emotion, tears streaming down your face as the weight of everything crashed over you.

“y/n– i…”

“no,” you wiped your tear stained cheeks furiously, “don’t, donghyuck. i– i can’t be around you right now.” you were gone into the crowd just as quickly as he approached you.
