B-2 stealth bomber will fly over the Rose Parade again after absence last year

USAF's B-2 Spirit stealth bomber is making its big return to the annual Rose Tournament parade after a brief hiatus in the celebration.
The Rose Parade, held in Pasadena, California, to celebrate the New Year, will resume the bomber's overflying tradition during the 2024 parade. The aircraft had to miss last year's event after an aircraft caught fire in flight.

"We are excited to return to the 2024 Rose Bowl," Colonel Keith Butler, commander of the 509ª Bomber Wing at Whiteman Air Base, said in an official statement. "We have a long relationship with the city of Pasadena and we are honored to bring the B-2 back to demonstrate Team Whiteman's commitment to the American people. Our mission is to carry out nuclear operations and global attacks... anytime, anywhere, and this would not be possible without the support of the people we serve. This is our way of saying thank you."
The bomber lost the last Rose Parade because of an air operation it was carrying out in December 2022, when it suffered a malfunction in the middle of the flight and had to make an emergency landing. Filling the B-2 spot in the last parade were two B-1B Lancer bombers from Ellsworth Air Base, North Dakota.

Before that, the Rose Parade had a flyover of the B-2 stealth bomber every year since 2005.
The Rose Parade began in 1890, before the annual college football game Rose Bowl. The parade runs 8 and a half km and features several floats and martial bands.
The B-2 will kick off the long-awaited Rose Bowl playoff game between the University of Michigan Wolverines and the University of Alabama Crimson Tide - whose winner will advance to the national championship game on January 8. The game will air at 6 p.m. Brasilia time on New Year's Day on ESPN.

The Elements: A Beginner's Guide
Earth, Air, Fire, Water. Since the dawn of time these elements have been the driving force of our world. They have been worshipped, studied, admired, and even feared. What can be more beautiful than a snow capped peak, or a rose petal dancing in the wind? What can be as awe inspiring as a hurricane? Or as feared as a forest fire? In this lesson we will do a dive into these primal forces to help get a better understanding of their uses in magic.
Earth
Direction: North, the place of cold | Time of Day: The coldest part of night | Color: Green/Brown | Animal: Bear and Deer | Instrument: Percussion | Moon Phase: Dark Moon | Representation: A bowl of salt or earth | Spells: Abundance, Growth, Money, Stability, Endurance, Home and Hearth, Strength etc.
Earth. The immovable object. Earth has widely been seen as the element of stability. Indeed, what is more stable than a mountain? Unshakable, it is always there, supporting us as we walk, being under our feet and helping us connect to its life force. Considered a gentle element, the element of earth can also cause upheaval in everything it does. While not fast moving or flashy, spells using the element of earth will be slow moving, yet the results will be as permanent as the mountains themselves, and will grow like the plants to become a beautiful new result. From the place of cold and the time of darkness, do not let Earth intimidate you, for she will only seek to make you stronger.
•┈┈┈••✦🌿✦••┈┈┈•
Air
Direction: East, the place of renewal | Time of Day: Dawn, the time of new beginnings | Color: Yellow/White | Animal: Hawk and Birds | Instrument: Woodwind | Moon Phase: First Quarter | Representation: Feathers, Petals, Incense | Spells: Communication, Cleansing, Creativity, Mental, Speed, Travel, Starting something new, Legal Matters, etc.
Air. The heavens caress. Air is one of the easily most volatile elements out there to work with. Who hasn’t been enjoying a nice breeze, then been almost blown away by the gales as they get stronger. Mover of obstacles and removing stagnation, Air has always been a sign dedicated to bringing about change and helping with communication. If you find yourself in a slump, needing some creativity, or wondering if the person you love is thinking of you, Air is the element to help. As a bringer of change and inspiration, it is the element that is also tied with renewal. Quick to action, yet unpredictable in nature, Air spells will make sure the job is done quickly, and will make sure to bring a new change when they are completed. From the place and time of renewal, Air can be chaotic, yet if you embrace her she will help you fly.
•┈┈┈••✦🌪✦••┈┈┈•
Water
Direction: West, the place of peace | Time of Day: Twilight, the time of contemplation | Color: Blue | Animal: Salmon and Fish | Instrument: Strings | Moon Phase: Waning Crescent | Representation: A bowl of water, seashells, rain | Spells: Love, Truth, Harmony, Peace, Psychic Abilities, Change, Emotions, Inward Reflection, Divination, Giving Thanks, Honoring the Dead and Deities, etc.
Water. The ever changing. Water has been instrumental in the survival of everything, indeed nothing can live without water. From the dawn of time water has long been associated with being the element of care, the element of who we are and our deepest secrets. Water exists in all of us, it fills our blood and connects every living thing on this planet together. But water can also be violent, tumbling roaring, becoming hurricanes and typhoons, just like people. Water is a reflection of who we are, who we want to be, even reflecting our inner emotions. It is unforgiving with its reflection of us, yet never judges. They say a persons heart is as deep as an ocean, and they are not wrong, for it would take an entire ocean of memories and experiences to make us who we are. Water spells will probe to the deepest layer of the issue, bringing to the surface everything about the issue, and will remind you that there will always be calm after a storm. Water can be cold, yet if you embrace her, she will surround you with all the beauty in the world.
•┈┈┈••✦💧✦••┈┈┈•
Fire
Direction: South, the place of heat | Time of Day: The hottest part of the day | Color: Red | Animal: Salamander and Lizards | Instrument: Brass | Moon Phase: Full Moon | Representation: Candle, Wand, Athame | Spells: Passion, Romance, Prophecy, Destruction, Banishing, Endings, Energy, Awareness, Illumination, Healing, Inspiration, Victory, Rage, etc.
Fire. The one that burns. Fire is easily the most difficult element to work with, have it too low and it only sizzles, too hot and it burns. Since the dawn of man Fire has helped keep the shadows at bay, keeping us safe through the night. We light candles for the ones we love, we use heat to help our aches and pains, we use fire to cook with and to warm our homes during the cold winter months. Fire is the spark inside of us, it is the feeling of your first kiss, of getting that promotion, of finishing that painting. It is the passion that comes to light when we do something we love. It can also burn though, leading to anger and rage, thoughts of destruction and burning the world around us. Fire is tricky, yet without it, the world would be a cold and barren place, for Fire brings the light to this world. Fire spells will work quickly, burning through the darkness to illuminate everything around a situation and making sure that when it is done, there is nothing left to question, no matter the results. In the innermost part of your soul, embrace Fire, and she will bring light to your world.
•┈┈┈••✦🔥✦••┈┈┈•
Spirit and Void
Direction: Above and Below | Time of Day: All and None | Color: White, Purple, and Black | Animal: All of them | Instrument: Vocals | Moon Phase: None, they are represented by the stars | Representation: Pentagram/Pentacle, Song, Touch, Smell, Taste | Spells: All and None
Spirit. The Void. The place of inbetweens and existences between what we know and what we do not. The element of Spirit/Void is not one I was going to include on this list initially, as it is a concept more so for theology versus practical application, yet the more I thought about it, the more it makes sense. For Spirit and Void exists everywhere and nowhere. It is found in the spaces between. It is everything and nothing at the same time. It is the primordial element that created everything, and is the end of everything as well. Much of witchcraft is focused on the wheel shape, if you look at it in that shape, the other elements are the supports, and the Spirit is the wheel itself. It is what makes up the heavens and exists in between the stars. It is the darkness where we go to hide, and also the helping hand that shows us the way. It is time, it is space, it is everything. Spirit and Void is the subconscious, it is an entity of its own, it is our fears and our joy. It is our inspiration and our blocks, it is every living thing on this planet. We are the final element. We are spirit and void. When the big bang happened, and the cosmos came into existence, all of those stars spewed out dust. Those pieces of dust came together to become the planets, and the waters, and the climate, and the fire. It came together to form us. We are all made of stardust. We are all spirit. We are all void. We can do anything.

Street Fighter 6 - Zangief, Lily, and Cammy Gameplay Trailer
youtube
Japanese version
Street Fighter 6 will launch for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4, and PC via Steam on June 2, 2023.
Screenshots
Latest details
Zangief – Rumbling his way onto the scene is the immense Zangief, an original World Warrior who loves to show off for the crowd at Barmaley Steelworks. A professional wrestler by trade, Zangief keeps hold of his trademark throws like the Screw Piledriver and Siberian Express, picking up new moves like the counter throw Tundra Storm. His Level 2 Super Art Cyclone Lariat and Level 3 Super Art Bolshoi Storm Buster are sure to be crowd-pleasers.
Lily – A new addition to the roster, Lily will seem familiar to some as she is a descendant of the Thunderfoot tribe, the same tribe as the iconic T. Hawk who was first seen in Super Street Fighter II. Small but mighty, Lily speaks with the spirits of nature at her home in the vibrant Thunderfoot Settlement and defeats enemies with her ferocious Condor Dive, Condor Spire, and Tomahawk Buster. Condor Wind will grant one Windclad stock, which powers up each of the aforementioned moves. Lily wields her war clubs to barrage opponents in her Level 1 Super Art Breezing Hawk and slams her enemies to the ground with her Level 3 Super Art Raging Typhoon.
Cammy – First appearing in Super Street Fighter II, the cat-loving Cammy returns with her beloved arsenal of high-powered attacks, including Spiral Arrow, Cannon Spike, and Hooligan Combination. The Heavy version of each of those three moves has been enhanced to allow for a delay which results in altered properties for some big damage. Visit King Street, Cammy’s foggy, industrial stage, and perform deadly Super Art moves like the Killer Bee Spin and Delta Red Assault to send opponents to their knees and get the crowd buzzing.

Keigo couldn't breath, he couldn't breath and he needed to breath and not shatter the glass he was holding that he would never drink from because he still has that scar under his armpit and he couldn't breath. Keigo needed to breath and not have a panic attack in the middle of the social event that was thrown probably for the news he just heard but the Commission would never dare say it was because of it and Keigo sure as hell felt like throwing up.
Hawks smiled, knowing immediately that it was noticeable something is off, but none of his handlers were here to drag him aside and-. Keigo needs to calm down and breath, so he walks out of the conversation he had with one of the administration head and someone else he doesn't remember anymore and he needs to get out and breath.
Soon he is walking, and dispersing his feathers because he doesn't want the notice of them, and then he is over the toilet, emptying the little he had eaten in the event.
And Keigo could finally breath, but the emotions still whirled inside him like a typhoon, because-.
Because-
Hawk's phone pinged, sound reverberating through the empty space.
Somehow Keigo knew it was him, and so he locked the door to outside, and called his dear friend.
"Yo, nugget wings, you would never-."
"Dabi, I'm in."
"...What? Wait wait.-"
"I'm not waiting, hook me up a meeting with your dust guy the soonest you can-."
"Red.-"
"I have an actual income source too to help you and your ragtag team with clean money-."
"Keigo."
Keigo paused, breathing heavily into the speaker, and sliding down to the floor.
"What happened?"
Breath in, Breath out
"They took the last freedom of the agents, starting this year, they are setting up their own high school class and schedule. Dabi, i can't..."
"You can."
Keigo jumped in shock.
"What-."
"For the kids, you can take it, to stay there and help them see what is more, Keigo."
A long pause, of both just breathing deeply, together.
"I'm gonna set up things here, and if you get caught, i will murder you myself, you overgrown chicken."
Keigo chuckled.
"Thanks."
"I'm serious."
"I still think your flames are beautiful, so there won't be regrets on that part."
Keigo could feel the blush on the other end, and he chuckled again.
"Whatever, bye."

📗 Scarce details of the Black Swan's next target, named as the King of Clubs, scattered among Japan's authorities like shattered glass, each fractured fragment hoping to give anyone a shred of a clue to their identity. Which pro hero was it this time? After discovering that Shinso, after other fallen heroes, was the Ten of Clubs, detectives slowly pieced together each suit card's corresponding quirk. However, they were not positive their guess was a match, still searching for a pattern.
As the weather shifted towards typhoon season, the Swan planted a lure for panic. Each time he "slipped up" traits about a target, police and citizens were on high alert. With the reveal that the King had yellow eyes, they narrowed down to Hawks as, like with the brainwashing quirk, fierce wings were mostly non lethal.
They were wrong.
"The King of Clubs is heading towards you and he looks to be alone. You should make it quick. If you're in trouble, we'll help."
"I should be fine. Thank you. Keep your distance." Ending the phone call with a watchful cygnet, he slipped the device then rose his head slightly towards the near black ocean, illuminated by the occasional strike of lightning. The scent of rain mixed with the salty sea, not an expected setting for a battle but all the cards fell into place. As Miss Swan, a tip was given to the police 'she' was spotted at a beach, bait for the King's arrival.
Wig stuck to his face while wet from the storm as he sat upon a towel in a long raincoat, tattered but also feminine in style, his suit beneath. They had seen each other's face during their casino match but in preparation for his reveal, the Swan also wore a red mask.
In anticipation for their eventually clash, one he had waited for since organizing his list, he checked his environment. Soaked sand slowed footwork, no rooftops eliminated sneak attacks, lightning caused delays and blinding in split second decisions, and the lack of proper street lamps obscured their exact location should additional pros be called. In the event they were, a speedboat waited at the end of a dock.
All cards were in his hand. All he needed to do was play them.
The King would most likely activate his power before approaching then use his binding cloth from a distance. Beneath his mask, he formed the smallest of smiles. Eraserhead had been one of the earlier heroes Izuku studied back when he clung onto that childhood dream, when his jade eyes used to gleam. Now, he was to see a live demonstration. A first hand experience.
#eraserisms#V. Every Little Lie Gives Me Butterflies#Long Post Tw#I am totes excited for this !!#Thank you again

BAE Systems will improve GPS technology in the Eurofighter Typhoon
Fernando Valduga By Fernando Valduga 11/17/2023 - 14:00 in Military
After successful activities to demonstrate functional compatibility and feasibility of physical installation, BAE Systems' Digital Anti-jam GPS Receiver (DIGAR) was selected to continue in the next phase of the Phase 4 Improvements (P4E) capability program on the Eurofighter Typhoon aircraft.
DIGAR will increase the protection of the aircraft against GPS signal interference, falsification and radio frequency (RF) interference, so that pilots can perform their missions in the most contested RF environments.
DIGAR uses advanced electronic antenna, high-performance signal processing and digital beam formation for significantly improved GPS signal reception and superior interference immunity. These capabilities considerably increase the level of protection against GPS interference and are critical for combat aircraft while maneuvering in a contested battle space.
The fighter will also receive the new GEMVII-6 airborne digital GPS receiver from BAE Systems which, when coupled to the electronic unit of the DIGAR antenna, allows the platform to conduct high-capacity digital beam formation anti-jamming.
“Modern fighters require accurate positioning and navigation data for mission success in GPS-contested environments,” said Luke Bishop, director of Navigation Systems and Sensors at BAE Systems. "Our DIGAR antenna electronic components and GEM VII GPS receivers are reliable to protect these vital platforms in GPS-challenged environments to support mission success."
The Eurofighter Typhoon is the backbone of the combat to air defense of the United Kingdom and several of its main European and international allies. Serving nine nations, it provides 24/7 air security, 365 days a year and is in frontline operations, including NATO's ongoing air policing throughout Eastern Europe.
BAE Systems, as part of the Eurofighter consortium of four countries behind the aircraft, is continuously investing in the Typhoon jet to maintain its cutting-edge military capability.
In addition to the Typhoon, DIGAR is also installed on the F-16, F-15 and other special-purpose aircraft in the U.S., such as air interdiction and force protection platforms, intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance aircraft and unmanned aerial vehicles.
Leveraging more than 40 years of GPS experience, BAE Systems' GPS product family offers suitable size, weight and power characteristics for a variety of applications, including portable electronics, precision guided ammunition, unmanned aerial vehicles, vehicles and aircraft.
The work at DIGAR and GEMVII takes place at BAE Systems' facilities in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, where the company invested in a state-of-the-art engineering and production center with 25,800 square meters.

Fighter Jets: The Backbone of Modern Air Combat
Fighter jets have been the cornerstone of air superiority since their inception during World War I. These high-performance military aircraft are designed for air-to-air combat against other aircraft, as well as ground-attack missions and reconnaissance. The evolution of fighter jets has seen significant advancements in speed, maneuverability, and technology, making them integral to modern air forces.
Evolution and Technology
The development of fighter jets began with propeller-driven aircraft in the early 20th century. The transition to jet engines in the latter half of World War II marked a significant leap in aviation technology. The introduction of the Messerschmitt Me 262 by Germany, the world’s first operational jet-powered fighter aircraft, revolutionized air combat. Post-war, advancements continued with the creation of the supersonic jet era, exemplified by aircraft such as the F-86 Sabre and the MiG-15.
Modern fighter jets are characterized by their advanced avionics, stealth capabilities, and sophisticated weapon systems. The integration of fly-by-wire systems, which replace manual controls with electronic interfaces, enhances maneuverability and safety. Stealth technology, as seen in aircraft like the F-22 Raptor and the F-35 Lightning II, minimizes radar cross-sections, allowing these jets to evade detection and strike with precision.
Roles and Capabilities
Fighter jets serve multiple roles in military operations. Air superiority fighters, like the F-15 Eagle and the Su-35, are designed to establish control of the airspace by destroying enemy aircraft. Multirole fighters, such as the F-16 Fighting Falcon and the Eurofighter Typhoon, can perform a variety of missions, including air-to-air combat, ground attack, and electronic warfare.
The development of fifth-generation fighters, including the F-22 and F-35, has introduced capabilities such as network-centric warfare, advanced sensor fusion, and enhanced survivability. These aircraft are equipped with state-of-the-art radar, communication systems, and weapons, providing unmatched situational awareness and combat effectiveness.
Uncrewed Aerial Vehicles (UAVs): The Future of Air Warfare
Uncrewed Aerial Vehicles (UAVs), also known as drones, have become a critical component of modern military operations. UAVs offer several advantages over manned aircraft, including reduced risk to human life, lower operational costs, and the ability to operate in environments deemed too dangerous for piloted aircraft.
Types and Uses
UAVs come in various shapes and sizes, tailored to specific missions. Tactical UAVs, such as the RQ-7 Shadow, are used for reconnaissance and surveillance, providing real-time intelligence to ground forces. Strategic UAVs, like the RQ-4 Global Hawk, can fly at high altitudes for extended periods, offering wide-area surveillance and monitoring.
Combat UAVs, such as the MQ-9 Reaper, are equipped with precision-guided munitions and can conduct airstrikes against high-value targets. These drones are instrumental in counterterrorism operations, allowing for targeted strikes while minimizing collateral damage. The use of UAVs extends beyond military applications to include disaster relief, environmental monitoring, and search and rescue operations.
Technological Advancements
Advancements in UAV technology have focused on improving autonomy, endurance, and payload capacity. Artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning algorithms are being integrated into UAV systems, enabling greater autonomy in navigation, target identification, and decision-making. Swarm technology, where multiple UAVs operate collaboratively, is being explored for its potential to overwhelm enemy defenses and conduct complex missions.
The development of solar-powered UAVs, such as the Zephyr, aims to achieve near-perpetual flight, significantly enhancing surveillance and reconnaissance capabilities. Additionally, advancements in miniaturization have led to the creation of micro and nano drones, which can be used for covert operations and intelligence gathering in urban environments.
Single-Engine Fighter Aircraft: Balancing Performance and Cost

LONG POST OF DOOM
This is simply for me to keep here, since I deleted the other blog some time ago (it was a paranormal thing, debunks etc., CBA to get it going, really, and there's much better people doing stuff along these lines). In said blog, I'd made a post about a UFO I'd seen back in the 1990s - essentially I saw something zip across the sky in the distance, and then stop a moment before shooting up and seemingly out of the atmosphere. After making the post, I did a little more digging around about that time, and the below is the result:
Update on my "UFO" experience
I am absolutely thrilled to have something of a possible explanation for what I saw.
Honestly, I love - and even prefer - a good real world explanation over a paranormal one. It's absolutely essential for anyone with an interest in all things weird to keep their heads firmly on their shoulders, to be able to sort the wheat from the chaff; to be honest, not to jump to conclusions, and channel our inner Sherlock:
'"You will not apply my precept," he said, shaking his head. "How often have I said to you that when you have eliminated the impossible, whatever remains, however improbable, must be the truth?"'
- Sherlock Holmes, The Sign of the Four, ch. 6 (1890)
Harder to do than at first thought, mind! This is why it's crucial to have some self-reflection, to be aware of our own biases, lack of knowledge and preferences. When I say I saw a UFO, I'm stressing again it doesn't mean I think I saw aliens from another planet (even if that might be cool, what if Stephen Hawking was right? Yeesh, no thank you, please). I'm saying I saw something flying that did something unusual in my experience and knowledge of such things. Therefore, I figured I needed to speak someone who has a clue about aircraft capabilities. And I'm lucky enough that my own father has that knowledge (trained (naval) engineer, lifelong military vehicle enthusiast, air show and museum veteran and watcher and reader of all stuff military; now makes a living selling model kits of aircraft, navy vessels, tanks, that sort of thing. In other words, knows a fair whack about military aircraft!).
He told me that in Britain, there's been aircraft capable of flying vertically since the 1960s. The English Electric Lightning was a fighter aircraft between the 1960s and 1980s, with Mach 2 capability, and more importantly yes, it can fly straight up with panache. There's several documentaries freely available on YouTube about it, but the most useful for me was this one here - about a minute in it shows the aircraft's clever manoeuvre. Fantastic. The aircraft has turned up, post-1980s, in air shows like the one in the video. Could I have seen a pilot practising for such a show?
I'm not going to rule it out completely.
However, my sighting was in the late 1990s, and there was another, newer aircraft which might be a more likely candidate.
The Eurofighter Typhoon prototype had its maiden flight in 1994, and in 1998, the first production contracts were signed. Additionally, BAE Systems were responsible for the British part of the aircraft's production, specifically BAE Warton, which is just south of Blackpool, in the northwest of England. My sighting was in Cheshire, a little ways to the south, but not all that far for an aircraft such as the Eurofighter.
Though it wasn't truly in service until 2003, there was a good testing period, where, according to its own website:
" Over the late 1990s and early 2000s the aircraft undertook extensive environmental, weapon firing, in-flight fueling (sic) and supersonic speed tests."
My dad advised testing (and manoeuvres, practice, etc.) can take place at night, due to fewer civilian flights, and then often at sea because of all the obvious reasons you can think of. Having looked on a map for my orientation, I might well have been looking out toward the Irish Sea, and the fact I heard nothing could be due to the distance involved. I might also be mistaken with thinking the aircraft I saw actually stopped for a moment before continuing vertically; again due to distance and also darkness, perhaps I was actually seeing the craft adjust position and was unable to see it for what it was clearly enough.
Frankly, if this is the case, if I somehow managed to see a Eurofighter Typhoon during the testing phase, I think I would count myself just as lucky, if not more so, than if I saw a real alien craft instead.
Would love to know if anyone else had a similar experience, perhaps with more information regarding the actual nature of the type of aircraft they saw (feel free to message me if so!)
Still think alien life exists, mind.
