thank you for saving me
liam dunbar x fem!reader
wc: ~2.5k
liam’s anxiety and IED isn’t explored and talked about enough in either fanfics or the actual show, so i tried to do this sweet boy some justice. he’s just trying his best
set in season 4, but definitely not too canon
masterlist
"why did we get sent to the school, aren't we here enough?" you kicked your feet, looking for any sign of kate, or the benefactor, or any clue to absolutely anything going on in your life right now. you'd been scott's beta for all of a few weeks, and all of your spare time had been spent trying not to die. being a werewolf was definitely cool, but you had no idea how exhausting it would be. you'd come to the school with liam, hoping to find something, anything that would give you insight into any one of the millions of things going on.
liam chuckled, walking alongside you. he knew how important it was to find something, but he couldn't take his focus off of you.
the entire ride over he stared at you, watching how the moonlight glistened on your skin as you ranted to him. your hands rested on the steering wheel as you spoke and he admired your hands, how soft they looked, how beautiful your nails were. he watched the lines on your face intensify the more passionate you got about whatever you were talking about — liam didn't know. he didn't care, frankly. anytime you spoke, he was entranced by your oh-so-pretty voice, words having no meaning other than the butterflies they were leaving in his stomach.
you looked at him in the passenger seat, a smirk forming to contrast the flush on your cheeks. he was caught, he knew it. but he couldn’t find himself to mind. he smiled at you, a blush matching on his own face.
he straightened his shoulders out, checking behind him as he passed the chemistry lab. "I don't know, but I hope we find something quick and can get out of here."
you didn't hear what he said.
his fingertips brushed against yours as you walked together and your mind wandered from the plan for the thousandth time that evening. every time liam mindlessly brushed against you, all sight of what you were doing was thrown out the window. your survival anxiety was replaced with limerence, yearning for the touches to linger longer. butterflies flooded your stomach as his hand did just that. in fact, your own heartbeat overtook your senses as you felt liam grab ahold of your hand. you looked up at him, blushing like a madman.
“you had no idea how long —” he shushed you quickly, stopping you dead in your tracks and tilting his head, listening. you tried to tune in to whatever he heard.
liam knew the sound of those footsteps anywhere. they haunted him, not just in his nightmares, but out on the field, in the classroom — wherever he went, they followed. taunting him.
he turned around to see the creature trudging towards them. he felt the hairs stand on the back of his neck and the blood drain from his face. seeing the berserker in front of him again felt worse than he could've imagined, and he froze as the beast made his way towards the two of you.
"liam, what do we do?"
silence.
"liam? should we fight? should we run?"
"liam?"
liam watched in a haze as kira used her katana against the berserker, his vision fading in and out. there was a lot of things he didn't know yet, but these things had to be the craziest he had found out about so far. he didn't know what to do. they were so strong, so fast, and the wounds he'd been given weren't healing. he watched as kira was tossed across the roof like she was nothing.
his breathing quickened.
what was he supposed to do? how did scott do this?
he groaned at the pain, trying to push himself up, only to be kicked back against the electrical panel. his vision blackened and his panic intensified.
seriously, what was he supposed to do? he wasn't strong enough. he couldn't possibly do this. he-
"liam, look out!"
he came to, hearing your voice and feeling you shove against him. he let out a grunt as you took place where he stood: directly where the berserker was aiming his bone-covered fist. you let out a scream as you flew backwards, hitting the ground so hard the tiles shattered beneath where you landed. you clenched your abdomen immediately, blood pooling out of the gashes caused by the sharp bone pointing out of the creature’s knuckle plate.
you choked on your own words, fighting to stay awake as pain coursed through your veins. "l-liam..."
liam's body flooded with rage in a split second. his claws came out and he roared, sprinting at the berserker without a second thought. he threw punches, hard and strong, making the beast before him stumble back. it held defense against liam as he grew more powerful, his anger in seeing you hurt feeding his strength, adrenaline surging through him.
unfortunately, it wasn't enough to keep the berserker down for long. the beast threw a punch, sending liam flying into the lockers with a power ten times that of the beta. with his imprint heavy in the metal, he lay on the ground, spitting blood and scrambling to crawl backwards as the berserker stomped towards him. liam made his way to you, covering you from the incoming a attack, and trying to hide you as far in the corner as he could. as quickly liam flinched away at the berserker breaking into a sprint towards him, he heard the creature stop. he looked up to see it retreating out the high school entrance.
he took a deep breath, looking down at you and assessing the wounds in your side. worry flooded his senses, seeing you barely conscious and feeling how much pain you were in as he grabbed where your arm was holding your stomach. panic bubbled in his throat, breathing beginning to hitch and stagger as he pulled up your shirt to see your wound.
he grimaced at the sight. it was deep, bloody, and most importantly: it wasn't healing.
"shit, (y/n). why did you do that? it shouldn’t have been you, i, fuck."
you groaned slightly, unable to keep your eyes open.
"i'm... i'm okay, l-liam." you slurred out.
"please just, keep your eyes open, (y/n), we're going to get you some help."
liam's ears perked up at the sound of footsteps; this time multiple, yet not as heavy. whoever it was, liam was filled with dread. he needed to get you out of here, and he couldn't do that while fighting off someone else. he began to scoop you in his arms, apologizing relentlessly as you whined, half-consciously whimpering at the pain from being moved. he got to his feet, whispering in your ear that you were okay, that he was taking you somewhere.
"liam!"
his eyes shot up at the sound of scotts voice. he let out a heavy breath at the sight of scott, stiles, and derek running towards you.
"guys, please, she's really hurt. it hurt her, and, and, i-i, i don't know shes not healing. please, help her." he whined.
immediately, derek grabbed you and headed out the way they came. he yelled back on his way out, "I'll meet you guys at deaton's!"
scott whipped his head around to liam after derek had left. "what the hell do you think you were doing?!"
liam stumbled backwards. "w-what?"
stiles crossed his arms. "listen, i know you think you're all tough-guy mr. bad werewolf now, but in case you don't remember how your first fight went, these guys don't lose. and they're fucking huge! are you just stupid or something?"
"i don't she pushed me out of the way and i —”
"liam, why did you attack it? why didn't you run? you guys could've gotten way more hurt than you did. stiles is right, that was stupid of you."
liam felt defeated. not only did he freeze and get you hurt, but he was stupid enough to keep you there in that position while he freaked out on that thing.
he was embarrassed. they were right, he shouldn't have attacked the berserker. he was disappointed in himself, disappointed in how rashly he acted, and how quickly he let his anger take over him. this isn't what scott would've done; this isn't what he should've done. he felt ashamed, his body language following suit to reflect that. scott picked up on the scent change immediately, and his face softened.
"hey, liam —”
"no, you guys are right. i shouldn't even be a part of this, I just explode and mess everything up. I'm sorry, I, I don't know I just saw her hurt and I stopped thinking, I just got so angry and acted like a monster and I —”
"liam!" scott placed his hands on his beta's shoulders, giving him a reassuring look. "you were scared. you reacted, trying to protect (y/n). you're still new to all of this, you're still learning. you're not stupid. I'm sorry we yelled at you."
"no i definitely think he was pretty stupid —"
"stiles!"
"what? tell me i'm wrong, look at those things. even peter runs at the sight of them." stiles scoffed.
scott scowled at his best friend. "go easy on him, dude. we weren't perfect at this either. we still aren't,"
he turned back towards liam. "go, go check in on her. derek took her to the clinic. I'm sure she'll want to see you when she comes to."
liam hesitantly nodded, muttering another apology as he started towards the doors of the school.
"liam!"
he turned back to face scott.
"this wasn't your fault. you kept her safe, don't beat yourself up."
liam opened the door to see derek wide-eyed staring down at him. he barely opened his mouth before he was pulled into the clinic, stumbling in derek’s grasp.
"good, you're just in time.”
light flooded liam's eyes as he entered the exam room, (y/n) laying on the table, still unconscious. his stomach turned and he felt overwhelmed with anxiety once again seeing you lay there, helpless. scott's words of assurance echoed in his head, but he couldn't help but feel guilty. like he could've prevented this.
"in time? for, for what?" liam shuffled to the table where deaton and derek stood.
deaton wore a concerned face — almost apologetic.
"we need you to help hold her down."
liam was puzzled. you were unconscious; why would we need to hold you down?
"i dont understand, what do you mean?"
deaton looked to derek, sorrow painted across his features. “she’s not healing, and she’s getting weaker. it was good you helped get her here as soon as you did.”
he let out a hum, looking at you on the table. derek took over.
“when someone isn't healing and you need to trigger the process, there's a pretty foolproof way to get it up and running again,"
he sighed as liam still wasn't catching on.
"it's... it's pain, liam."
he watched the beta's eyes widen. "pain? no i can't, that's, no please I can’t see her hurt anymore tonight. this is already all my fault, I can't be the cause of any more pain, please, isn't there something else you can do? i, i can't —"
"liam,"
he stopped rambling, meeting derek's eyes. he'd never seen him so... empathic.
"liam, i get it. i know what it's like to be angry." he sighed and looked away.
"i used it as my anchor for years. after watching someone I loved die because of me, I didn't know what to do. i didn't know how to handle anything. so I got angry. and it consumed me,"
he stepped closer towards the teenager. "i know what it's like to feel like a monster."
liam looked down at the ground. he didn't understand what derek was telling him, let alone why he was telling him. he started to shake his head, but he was cut off with a hand on his shoulder.
"you're not a monster, liam. that anger? it makes you powerful. i told that to scott the day I met you — that you were strong. there's no reason your anger can't be used as an advantage. but that's only if you know how to control it and bring it out when you need it,"
"don't let it define you like it did me."
liam made eye contact with him. he heard derek's heartbeat: it hadn't faltered once this whole time. he took a deep breath and nodded.
"okay. what do you need me to do?"
deaton smiled, quickly ushering the two to either side of you.
"liam, stand by her head and hold her shoulders. she'll need a comforting face when coming to. derek, hold her legs. this isn't going feel great."
liam gripped hard on your shoulders. "wait, what are you —"
deaton didn't waste any time grabbing your forearm and pushing down, hard. the sound of bone snapping cracked throughout the room, causing a similar sensation in liam's chest. his eyes widened at the realization of what was happening.
you shot up with a roar, eyes flashing gold as you screamed in pain. you snapped your arms out of the grasp of those around you, your free hand flying to the broken, immediately resetting it with another painful wail.
with the bone back in place, you took a deep breath, panting as you slowly leaned back down on the exam table. everyone gathered around you, watching with hope as you grew more and more with it.
you lifted your shirt as a tingling sensation flooded your abdomen, all of you watching as the gashes in your side slowly started to patch themselves up. liam let out sigh of relief, staggering back a few feet as solace washed over him. you were okay.
deaton gave you a reassuring smile, patting you on the knee. "good to have you back with us, (y/n). i think we'll let you guys be for a second, you're safe here."
he and derek left the room, quietly discussing their plan for the rest of the evening. liam let his head hang in his hands, wanting to cry at the feeling of relief in seeing you heal. you saw him from where you were laying on the table, slowly sitting up with a whine to face him. he grabbed your arms, helping stabilize you.
"(y/n) i'm so glad you're okay. i can't tell you how afraid i was seeing you hurt. i don't know what i'd do with myself if anything happened to you, I don't, I just —"
you wrapped your arms tightly around his shoulders, hugging him as tightly as you could, not a thought in your mind on the pain shooting through your side. liam stood frozen, not sure what was happening. you let out a sob and held him tighter, causing him to instinctively wrap his arms around you.
"thank you for saving me, liam."

Can you believe this is more than 10 years after Daniel appeared on Teen Wolf. And STILL the amount of chemistry between these 2 is crazy. Like I have watched alot of Daniel content and this is one of the only times you hear him truly laugh. I just feel like this is proof that Scisaac could have been something if they went with it. I will forever be mad they didn't.

Resentment is the new content ~ Scott McCall.

He wants to resent her he really does; he wants to hate her the way that she hates him but it's impossible. It's impossible to suddenly start resenting people that you love. Someone who you've been in love with for years, someone who will never want you.
He's a werewolf, he has everything he could ever need in life, but he will never get the one thing— the one person— that he truly wants, all because of what? A lineage issue? An issue that shouldn't even be an issue anymore.
He cared for Allison he truly did and yes, he did some stupid things for 'love’, but it wasn't really love, it was an obsession that he built in an attempt to get over the one person he could never have and because of this he fucked up everything. Her resentment built up over the time he spent obsessing over Allison instead of trying to help stop Peter, instead of trying to save lives.
She was bitten her life permanently altered due to him paying attention to a crush. Stiles keeps telling him to give her time and although she's not outwardly nasty her indifference still feels as sharp as knife. And now there in a shitty warehouse, Derek on his knees begging Scott not to do this whilst she stands by his side staring at him with hatred and Scott wonders when everything went wrong.
"Scott don't make him do this, it isn't right?" her voice begs him and his wolf whines and cries telling him not to do it, but he knows that it needs to be done.
Gerard will never be a wolf, and Scott can't have him running around his territory messing everything up, threatening innocent people will always upset him but threatening his girl, that's something that he will never get over. Time moves slowly, yet quickly at the same time, Gerard ends up getting bitten and coughing out black blood and then everything goes wrong.
Allison begins attacking Isaac it's brutal, but Scott can't help he's trying to fight a kanima which is a losing battle in itself. He watches the shift in his beautiful girl’s face, the way she turns and begins losing the plot in such a graceful way. Isaacs body hits the floor, and her anger hits the roof.
The huntress fought Isaac with a practiced ease but her, she could never beat his girl and it's proven quickly. The way she attempts to slice her with her knives when the arrows miss and when her claws sink into her throat.
She stands tall, like the wolf with her prey, her clawed hand holding Allison by the throat, the huntresses back against her front as her blue eyes gleam. Blue eyes that she gained the night at the station when hunters came running in all guns blazing and she saved both Stiles and Derek's lives, something she shouldn't have had to do but Scott was too busy trying to talk Allison down to help her.
--
The look of disgust is clear on my face as my claws dig into Allison's neck, the girl letting out a pathetic gasp as she grapples at my wrist weakly the fight seems to slow almost to a stop. Jackson's obviously still fighting like the vicious abomination that he is, but Scott and Argent's attention has turned both of them watching in mix of horror and confusion.
"Y/N, put her down" Argent shouts, watching as trickles off blood flow down his daughter’s neck, horror etching on his face.
Peter prowls around the edge of the fighting watching with intrigue, he knew that he had a favourite for a reason, the feral look in the young woman’s eyes as she holds the huntress tauntingly her resentment clear in her eyes.
Isaac barely holds himself in a seating position as he watches, feeling protected by the woman in front of him. Scott's expression is unreadable along with Derek who is too busy fighting a kanima to pay too much attention to what his beta is doing, he doesn't care if Allison lives or dies, and he trusts that she will make the right decision.
"Why should I?" I throw back at the man, fed up with everyone putting her on a pedestal, fed up with everyone being so stupid.
"Because she's innocent" Argent shouts, but my anger just rises.
"Innocent" I shout back, a cackle falling from my lips as my grip only tightens.
"She attacked Erica and Boyd and tortured them, my pack. She tried to kill Isaac, and she would've killed all of them if you and I didn't stop her" A snarl falls from my lips viciously like I should even justify myself.
"My mother died because of your pack" Allison speaks breathlessly as her airway slowly begins to close.
"No, your mother died because of your family's code because of the words drilled in her head by the grandfather that you idolise" I state, her lip’s part but she has no response no one does.
"And I'm fed up with everyone putting you on a fucking pedestal, your family are glorified murderers that's all there is too it" I snarl my claws sinking in deeper causing her to scream out in pain.
"Y/N, don't do this" Scott finally finds his voice, stepping forwards slightly.
"Why should I stop? Why should I save your little girlfriend? I mean just because she keeps your dick wet doesn't make her any less of a problem for me, for all of us" I snarl, my eyes flaring a seemingly brighter blue, a laugh cackles from Peters throat as everyone listens to the harsh truth spill from my lips.
"We're not together—" Scott attempts feeling like he's losing control that he never had in the first place.
"I DON'T CARE, THIS ISN'T ABOUT YOU" I scream, my voice echoing as my wolf builds up.
"You've disgraced this pack; you've disgraced hundreds of years of history just for this woman. You've excused behaviour that you've seemingly hated Derek for and I'm sick of it. You betrayed us... you betrayed me" I state, there is no reasoning to my words, but I am fully distracted, and Allison uses this as her time to shine as she thrusts her knife in the air attempting to slit my throat.
But I grab the knife just in the nick of time, my hand slices open as I rip the knife away throwing it to the floor before pulling her from my body and slamming her head into the wall. Argent lets out a breath as he watches his daughter slam to the floor unconscious, he slowly creeps forwards watching me, but I step out the way allowing him to run to her.
"Y/N—" Scott begins, but I just cut him off with a shake of my head.
"Don't" I state, holding my hand in the air to silence him.
"I didn't do it for you, she just isn't worth the blood on my hands. She gets one more chance, if she fucks it up, I slit her throat and there isn't a single person in this room that can stop me" my voice leaves no room for questioning, a hiss sounds from Jackson, my eyes drift to Derek being knocked back and just like that the fight picks back up into full spring.
"In my experience darling, leaving people like her alive only causes—" Peter attempts to speak but gets cut off by my snarl as I continue fighting Jackson.
It almost like we forgot that there was a kanima here, well other than Derek who was barely holding up his own. When the fight dies down, Lydia saving Jackson, Derek and Peter killing him just for him to be reborn I leave bloody and exhausted. Isaac's arm slung over my shoulder as I help him out.
"Y/n can we talk?" Scott questions rubbing the back of his neck sheepishly, I go to shake him off but Isaac the traitor stops me.
"It's fine, I'll meet you back at your house" Isaac says, his wounds slowly healing as he begins walking away.
"What do you want from me Scott?" I ask running a hand through my bloody hair.
"I don't want anything other than to apologise to you. I'm so sorry, I know that I've messed up more than once for stupid things and I want to make it up to you" Scott apologises and I know that he's being sincere, but I just don't believe that it's genuine.
"I don't believe you Scott. You've had plenty of chance to do the right thing and you've constantly chosen the wrong one, me and the pack we're not second place, I deserve better than second place" I state, not wanting to hear the lies spew from his lips, it feels almost pathological at this point.
"You were never second place, you mean more to me than you'll ever known, and I know that I've fucked up but let me make it up to you. Let me prove to you that I can be the man, the wolf you need me to be" Scott attempts to apologise, the sincerity spilling from his lips, he cares too much to walk away, he can't walk away.
"I don't know—" I shake my head not wanting to hear all of this right now, not with the exhaustion setting into my bones.
"I love you" Scott blurts out, his eyes widening as he realises what he has just said.
The air feels like it’s been stolen from my lungs, I feel winded like I can't breathe like time has stopped, he can't mean that. It can't be true not with the way he obsesses over Allison, he can't love someone and then constantly break their trust and although he's never outwardly betrayed me the inner turmoil that he's caused is enough. I may not know a lot about love, but I know that it’s not supposed to feel this way.
"What?" I question, my tone incredulous, this, this isn't an option it can't be an option.
"I love you and I'm tired of pretending that I don’t. I've fucked up a lot, I know I have, and I know that I can't take it back but the thought of losing you today, it makes me feel physically sick because your everything to me y/n. You’re my pack mate, my best mate... my soulmate" Scott trails of whispering, water lacing his eye line as I try to process his words.
I don't forgive him, I know that much, he hurt me so badly and I'd be an absolute idiot if I even thought of forgiving him right now. Not to mention I've got the pack to think of, his betrayal may start with me, but it doesn't end with me, it runs from Derek, to Stiles, to Isaac, Erica and Boyd.
He's hurt this pack so much with just plain idiocy and that's hard to forgive. Yet I still care about him, yet I've never gone after him, not once, even though I knew that if anyone else had done something like this they'd be dead.
"Scott, I don't know what to say. You hurt me, hurt this pack in ways that you still don't understand" I begin trying to think of the words to explain about a thousand emotions which only half of which are my own.
"Help me understand, I'll try for you, I can change for you" Scott begs his voice sounding desperate, he can't be so close to getting what he wants yet so far, this is the most progress they've made in months.
I let out a sigh, knowing that no matter how angry at him I currently am, I still care about him. I can't leave him in the dark, not completely but he has to make amends with the pack, he has to realise that what he is doing is damaging to himself, he can't just do everything for me, or we'll end up right where we started, he needs to want to be better for himself.
"No try for you, then we'll talk" I extend him an olive branch giving him a chance and Scott has never accepted something so quick in his life/
"I will, I'll prove to you that I can be the person you need, no matter how long it takes" Scott says earnestly meaning every word and that has to be enough for now, Rome wasn't built in a day.
"I gotta go, the pack is meeting at mine" I say knowing that Isaac, Stiles and Derek will be waiting for me in the car.
"Yeah, right I'll go back with Stiles–" Scott attempts to speak but I cut him off wanting to make something clear.
"Stiles is coming to mine, if you haven't realised Scott, you’re the only one that hasn't acted like pack. Stiles has proved himself multiple times, he is pack and after today Lydia and Jackson have both asked to come" I say trying to make it clear that everyone is trying, everyone except him.
"Right, I guess I'll see everyone later" Scott responds, feeling rejected, he didn't realise that all his friends had made up, he didn't realise that they were all pack.
No, because he was focusing too much on Allison and trying not to think about feelings and trying to make sure everyone was safe without anyone having to die. He's finally realising that life isn't as black and white as he once thought it was.
"Tomorrow night" I state, giving him a chance.
"What?" Scott questions the frown ever present on his face.
"We're going out looking for Erica and Boyd, no one’s seen them since Allison..." I trail off not wanting to re-hash everything that we've just spoken about.
"If you wanna—"
"I do I'll be there" Scott cuts me off with an over excited grin, happy.
Even though he knows that it's a punishment as to why he's not invited tonight because no one trusts him he's glad that he's got a chance to prove himself. It’s unlikely that anyone will complain too much because an extra set of senses is better when trying to find someone.
"Good, don't let me down" I finish before turning my back to the wolf and walking away.
And for once it didn't feel so heartbreaking watching her walk away because an olive branch had been made. He felt content, content with the resentment as he hopes that one day it can be more. He loves her and one day he'll prove that he can be the man that she deserves, the man that the pack needs.
--
And he did. Although the pack have changed throughout the years that peace offering, that she gave him after they saved Jackson has led to this moment right now. The pack walking side by side, ready to take on Monroe and her hunters, confident that they can take whatever they throw at them because they are here together. Yes, they lost some people along the way, Erica and Boyd’s death broke them, but the pack ended up fixing each other and became stronger for it even gaining members, like Liam, Malia, Kira, Cora and Theo.
Scott looks to his side smiling as y/n talks with the newest addition to the pack, Alex, she’s reassuring him that everything is going to be okay. He’s an alpha now and she’s his second, his mate, his everything and the pack is his and he’s grateful for every member, including Derek and Isaac, and sometimes Peter, jury is still out on him.
Finally, the true alpha is content with his life, he walks over to his girlfriend, kissing her cheek with a soft smile displaying on his face, this action years ago would’ve earned him a smack but now it earns him a look of joy, of love. This blinding smile as she leans into him, talking about him so highly.
He looks around the room the pack relaxing and he’s finally content. Their story may not have been perfect but nothing in life is, there happy and that’s all that matters.
A/N - hope you enjoyed this fic, my requests are open, so if you wanted to request a fic i’d be more than happy to write one!

5 | Acting like an Ass
Series: Indispensable | Teen Wolf
Paring: (Stiles Stilinski x OFC Martin)
Word Count: 3.5k
Warnings: Panic Attack
A/N: Might be a few mistakes
| MASTERLIST |
~~~
Since last night Lydia has been ignoring me because she didn't like how I talked to Jackson last night. Like I was just going to let him talk to her that way? We might not get along well but she's still my sister. "You look more like... well you before we became friends." Stiles takes his seat next to me in class.
"What do you mean by that?" I ask looking at him.
"Hurt, pissed, alone, overall a done look."
I raise an eyebrow at him, "I'm fine." I shake my head.
"What's wrong?" He asks.
"I said I'm fine." I look to the front of the classroom.
"You're not though."
I huff, "It's just Lydia is pissed at me because I talked back to Jackson last night. I literally was just standing up for her and she doesn't care." I explain to him.
"She will at some point." He tells me but I ignore it not believing.
After class, Stiles drags me to go listen in on his dad. "If he sees you... he's going to get on you." I laugh as we head towards where his dad was.
"Yeah, but I wanna see what's up." He continues to drag me to the office.
"So why do I have to come with you?" I ask laughing.
"You're in the wrong place at the wrong time." He says but I let it go as we sit on the floor outside waiting. "Favorite color?" Stiles asks hugging his bag.
"Purple. You?" I do the same as him.
"Blue. Oh, favorite type of fries?" He glances over at me.
"Curly fries all the way." He puts his hand up for a high five so I give him one.
"Best kind ever." I laugh at him.
"Favorite song of all time?" I ask.
"Dear Maria, Count Me in." I shake my head at him.
"Wherever You Will Go." He nods his head and as the bell ring for us to get to class, his dad comes out.
"We are watching his family's house. Maybe he'll wind up there. Give me a second." He walks over to us. "Don't you have a test to get to?" He asks his son.
"Don't mind Julia, she's good. What's going on? Did you find Derek yet?" Stiles asks.
"I'm workin' on it. You go take your test." His dad tells him.
"All right, Dad, listen to me." Stiles tries to talk making his dad raise his voice. "This is really important. You have to be careful tonight, okay? Especially tonight." Stiles tries to tell him.
"Stiles, I'm always careful." He tells him.
"Dad, you've never dealt with this kind of thing before, okay? At least not like this." I could understand where Stiles was coming from.
"I know, which is why I brought in people who have. State detective. Go take your test. Also, try not to get your new friend in trouble." His dad smiles over at me so I return one as we head to class.
"You have 45 minutes to complete the test. 25% of your grade can be earned right now simply by writing your name on the cover of the blue book." I see Stiles quickly write his name. "However, as happens every year, one of you will inexplicably fail to put your name on the cover, and I'll be left yet again questioning my decision to ever become a teacher. So let's get the disappointment over with. Begin." Mr. Harris tells us.
After a few minutes, Scott rushes out and Stiles follows but I say in class. Stiles comes back after some time but Scott never comes back to class. "Because of the full moon tonight?" I ask Stiles as class ends and he nods his head.
"You helping me lock him up tonight, right?" He asks as we walk.
"If you want help yeah. I'm not just going to insert myself into y'all's life like I'm been a best friend as long as you two have been." I explain as we head to the cafeteria.
"Why not? You're part of the team now." He nudges me.
"Well, I don't wanna invade y'all's personal lives at times." I try to explain.
"Julia now that you are on the team... that means we're gonna be best friends soon, and we all get up in each other's personal life." He smiles at me.
When it was lacrosse practice I met up with the guys in the hallway. "Can you pick up on stuff like, I don't know, desire?" Stiles says as I join them and I'm guessing he just learned Scott can smell like emotions.
"What do you mean desire?" Scott asks him.
"Like sexual desire?" I shake my head at Stiles knowing what he wanted to know.
"Sexual desire?" Scott repeats.
"Yeah, sexual desire. Lust, passion, arousal." Stiles explains.
"From Lydia." I tell Scott.
"What? No, in a general, broad sense, can you determine sexual desire?" Stiles looks at me then back to Scott.
"From Lydia to you?" Scott says so Stiles says yes.
"Fine, yes, from Lydia to me. Look, I need to know if I have a chance with this girl, okay? I've been obsessing over her since the third freakin' grade." I roll my eyes knowing she doesn't care about him.
"Why don't you just ask her?" I motion over to her.
"Well, to save myself utterly crushing humiliation. Thank you, Julia. Okay? So, please, can you just go up and ask her if she likes me? See if her heartbeat rises, pheromones come out." Scott says okay and walks over to her as we head outside.
"You don't even need Scott to ask for you because I know the answer." I say as we get to the benches.
"No, because you aren't close. She could keep it as a deep secret. You're just jealous that she could like me." I laugh at him then walk over to Jackson.
"Can I borrow your lacrosse stick real quick?" He laughs at me.
"Why would I let you touch it?" He asks.
"So I can throw a ball at Stiles. I wanna hurt him for a second." I explained to him and he groans handing it to me. "Thank you. Now when I get a ball I need you to get him to turn around so I can get him from behind." I smile then take a ball from coach. "Excuse me, I gotta borrow this." I see Jackson get Stiles' attention.
"What are you d-," Since I didn't wanna hurt Stiles too badly I aim for his shoulder, then threw the ball at him with a behind-the-back shot.
"WHAT THE HELL JULIA?!" He spins around holding his shoulder.
"Don't say what you said next time." I walk back over giving Jackson his stick back.
"Hey! If you ever think about playing, I'll let you join the team!" Couch shouts at me.
"Maybe next year." I let him know.
"Hey. What happened?" Stiles asks as Scott shows up.
"What?" Scott seemed not like himself.
"What do you mean, what? Did you ask her? Did she say anything? Did she say she liked me? Did she imply she liked me?" Stiles just gets asking.
"Yeah. Yeah, she likes you. In fact, she's totally into you." Stiles gets happy but by his tone, he was lying.
When the guys were practicing Scott knocks down all the others including Danny at the goal. The whole team rushes to check on Danny so I rush over too. "Dude, what the hell are you doin'?" I walk over to Scott with Stiles.
"He's twice the size of me." Scott tells us.
"Yeah, but everybody likes Danny. Now everybody's gonna hate you." Stiles tells him.
"I don't care." He walks off from us.
"Your lipstick." I hear Jackson tell Lydia so I turn around to look at them.
"Oh. Oh, wonder how that happened." She checks herself. "Yeah. I wonder." He says sarcastically. I look at Stiles and his jaw was hanging open shocked.
"In fact, she's totally into you... Listen to me next time and watch what you say, or the next ball is hitting your spine, harder." I cross my arms looking at him.
"I'm sorry, but you play?" He asks as we walk back towards the school since practice was canceled now.
"Yeah, it's a secret hobby of mine." I laugh.
"From the pain, I'm still feeling... you're good." He rubs his shoulder.
"Thank you. I hit you with a BTB." He stops to stare at me.
"You're telling me you don't suck at back shots? I suck at those." He tells me and I decide to joke with him.
"You suck at lacrosse all together not just your back shots." I smile at him and he punches my arm.
"I hate you." He walks into the locker room while I go to my locker. "Okay, here's the plan. We head to my house get things ready for tonight then head over to Scott's and chain him up so he doesn't kill anyone." Stiles shuts my locker on me. "Then when the night is over I'll take you home." He smiles like a dork.
"Sounds like a good plan." I agree not really having a choice.
When we get to his house he runs straight to his room while I said I was going to get a glass of water first. "Stiles that you?" His dad walks in.
"Nope, he's in his room." I smile so he smiles back.
"So you're a friend of Stiles? New. I'm guessing since I've only seen you come over once." Sheriff Stilinski asks.
"Yes Sir. I just became friends with him and Scott. After years of only a few small conversations in class, we finally started to hang out." I explained to him.
"He's not paying you to be his friend right?" He asks making me laugh.
"I wish he would." I joke and he laughs too.
"Julia!" Stiles shouts for me.
"You sure? You really volunteered to become a friend of his?" Noah asks me as I clean my glass by hand.
"I sorta did. There are times when he doesn't give me a choice. There was like only one option for me and I had to deal with it."
He nods his head, "I believe that." I nod my head now.
"For example, he told me at school after lacrosse practice... Okay, here's the plan. We head to my house get things ready for tonight then head over to Scott's." I take a seat at their dining room table.
"Sounds like my son alright." He takes a seat too. "I never got your last name." He asks.
"Oh, Martin. My mom is Natalie Martin and my twin sister is Lydia." I tell him.
"I can see that now." He chuckles.
"You're actually the first to say that. When I tell people my age or older they say I'm lying at first because I'm so different from them." I let him know.
"That's ridiculous because you all share some features. Also, it's okay to be different, if being different makes you you, then keep being different." He tells me and I can't help but smile. "I saw the look in your eyes when you said differently so I just wanted you to know." He explains to me.
"Thank you Mr. Stilinski." He nods his head.
"Please call me Sheriff or even Noah, I don't care. I like you, you're a sweet girl." He laughs as Stiles marches into the room.
"What the hell? I called you?" He crossed his arms at me.
"I know but I was talking to your dad. I'm not going to be rude." I tell him.
"Can I take Julia now?" He asks his dad.
"Yes, I wanted to tell you before I head out that I'll be out all night." He tells Stiles.
"Remember be safe, especially tonight." Stiles tells him as he walks over to me grabbing my arm and dragging me away.
"See told you no choice. Be safe tonight Sheriff, bye." I tell his dad.
"Nice talking to you Julia." He shouts back.
"Really ditched me for my dad." Stiles shuts his door.
"Again was having a conversation with him and wasn't going to be rude." I explained again that Stiles shows me what he has for tonight.
Once we leave to go to Scott's, I notice Stiles glancing over at me from time to time. "Can I help you?" I ask him starting to get annoyed.
"No. Why do you ask?" He asks looking ahead.
"You keep side-eyeing me." I explain.
"What my dad said to you... If being different makes you you, then keep being different. He was right, I feel like if you were the exact same as Lydia... I probably would never get to start to know you. Plus you're fun to talk to." He explains as I look over at him.
"You were eavesdropping?" Is all I say.
"Yeah, from when you said who you were." He says as we pull up to Scott's.
"I'm sorry." I tell him before we get out.
"For?" He asks confused.
"That Scott kissed Lydia behind your back and then lied." I let him know.
"You were right... Now let's go." We get out.
I watch as he uses a key to unlock the door and open it going in holding the door open for me to come in. "Scott?" Melissa calls out.
"Stiles and Julia." He says as she walks into the room.
"Key!" She looks at the key in his hand.
"Yeah. I had one made, so..." He explains.
"That doesn't surprise me. It scares me, but it doesn't surprise me. What is that?" She asks about the bag as he drops it on the floor making the chains make a sound.
"School project it's really complicated to explain what the guys are trying to do." I explain to her and she nods her head.
"I believe that." She then looks over at Stiles. "Stiles, he's okay, right?" She asks.
"Who? Scott? Yeah. Totally." Stiles says weirdly.
"He just doesn't talk to me that much anymore, not like he used to." She says upsets.
"He's had a bit of a rough week." I sum it up for her.
"Yeah, yeah, I get it. Yeah, um- Okay, uh- Be careful tonight." She tells us so we say you too.
"Full moon." She adds but makes Stiles freak. "There's a full moon tonight. You should see how the E.R. Gets. Brings out all the nut jobs. You know, it's, um, actually where they came up with the word lunatic." She says before she leaves the house.
"Lead the way." I tell Stiles so we head to Scott's room.
"Oh, my God! Dude. You scared the hell out of me. Your mom said you weren't home yet." Stiles bumps into me as he leans back.
"I came in through the window." Scott says acting creepy.
"Okay. Uh, well, let's get this set up. I want you to see what I bought." Stiles bends down to the bag.
"I'm fine. I'm just gonna lock the door and go to bed early tonight." Scott tells us and I don't believe him.
"You sure about that? 'Cause you've got this kind of serial killer look going on in your eyes, and I'm hoping it's the full moon taking effect, 'cause it's really starting to freak me out." I let him know and Stiles agrees.
"I'm fine. You two should go now." Scott tells us.
"All right, we'll leave. Well, look, would you just at least look in the bag and see what I bought? You know, maybe you use it, maybe you don't. Sound good?" Stiles suggest that Scott comes over to look.
"You think I'm gonna let you put these on and chain me up like a dog?"
"Actually, no." Stiles quickly handcuffs him up.
"What the hell are you doing?" Scott yells trying to get lose.
"Protecting you from yourself and giving you some payback. For making out with Lydia." Stiles tells him and then leaves the room so I follow.
"Really?" I ask as I see him get a dog bowl with Scott's name on it.
"I don't care if it's the moon. He's being a asshole." Stiles had a point.
"It's actually funny." I cross my arms trying not to laugh. "I won't interfere unless you want or need to me." I say as we walk back up to the room.
"I brought you some water." Stiles pours the water from the bottle into the bowl.
"I'm gonna kill you!" Scott throws the bowl away making Stiles walk back into the room from the hall where I was.
"You kissed her, Scott, okay? You kissed Lydia. That's m- like, the one girl that I ev- and, you know, the past three hours, I've been thinking, it's probably just the full moon, you know, he doesn't even know what he's doing, and tomorrow, he'll be totally back to normal. He probably won't even remember what a complete dumbass he's been. A son of a bitch, a freaking unbelievable piece of crap friend." Stiles goes off on him so I head downstairs.
"Anything!" I hear Scott yell.
After a minute I head back up and sit next to Stiles on the floor. "What are you doing alone downstairs?" He asks.
"Giving you two space." I force a smile.
"Julia, you're just jealous everyone likes Lydia and not you." Scott says as we hear him struggle to get free. I close my eyes trying to ignore him. "I can smell it. Jealously, sadness, loneliness, it's pathetic but then again you are." He laughs as he struggles and I try to breathe calmly but I can't so I rush downstairs for a drink.
My hands were shaking as my heart was pounding and I couldn't breathe. "Hey, hey, breathe. Try to breathe. Focus on me, look at me." Stiles grabs my hands forcing me to look at him. I just stare into his eyes and it helps a little but my panic attack stops after he pulls me into a hug till I was breathing normally again. "You have panic attacks?" Stiles asks letting me go.
"I used to a lot in the past. Haven't had one in years. I guess what Scott said triggered some old memories." I try to laugh it off.
"I used to get them when my mom died. I knew you were having one as you rushed away." I just look down. "I'm going to stay down here for a while if that's okay?" He nods his head.
"It's okay. If you need me I'll be in the hall floor." He smiles leaving me alone. From downstairs on the couch, I could hear Scott screaming so I cover my ears. "JULIA!" Stiles comes running down the stairs. "Scott gone. He broke the handcuffs." He pulls out his keys so we rush to the jeep.
"Question, where the hell would he be?" I ask.
"I don't know, that's why we are driving around." His thumb taps on the steering wheel paranoid.
As we were driving we see flashing lights so Stiles stops the jeep rushing out to look for his dad. "Dad? Dad? Has anyone seen my- has anyone seen my dad?" He asks then walks towards the body.
"Stiles. What are you doing here?" His dad shows up making Stiles hug him relieved he's okay. "Again, what are you doing here?" His dad asks as they stop hugging.
"We were just driving around then saw the lights and got worried. When Stiles got out to look for you he panicked not finding you." I explain to the Sheriff.
"We just found a body that was out in a dead bomb fire." He lets us know.
"That sucks." Stiles says making me hit him.
"Come on, Stiles some respect for the dead guy." He rubs where I hit him.
"I didn't know what else to say." He hits me back so I hit him back again.
"I like her. Keep Julia around Stiles or you're grounded till your dead." His dad points at him.
"What? I-," He's cut off.
"It's late and I think you should take Julia home now then head home yourself. I'll be home soon." Noah tells him.
"Fine, see you at home." Stiles walks back to the jeep.
"Goodnight Sheriff." I smile giving him a goodbye wave.
"Night Julia." He returns one.
"Wow, he really does like you. I believe just by what was all said in one night, likes you more than Scott." Stiles says driving me home.
"You said once we become friends we invade each other's lives... Guess what? I'm making my way into yours easily." I laugh.
"Make yourself right at home then." He laughs. As we pull up to my place Stiles stops me before I get out. "It's not pathetic that you feel those ways at times. I'm starting to feel them myself with Scott being a werewolf now." He lets me know.
"I get what you mean but it's still different for me. I live with Lydia and she reminds me every day." I look at him.
"If you ever need to rant about things or want someone that will listen to you... Give me a call or come over." He gives me a smile.
"Night Stiles." I open the door.
"Night Jules." He smiles as I shut the door and head inside.
I already am starting to feel the pain of what's to come.
I just finished rewatching ‘A Good Man Goes To War’ (Doctor Who S6) for millionth time. This scene fits perfectly Chris and Gerard. I do feel like it would between Peter Hale and Scott McCall as a call back to season 3 episode 5 when Peter was taking a jab at Scott for being so ‘blandly moral’.
Gerard: The anger of a good man is not a problem. Good men have rules.
Chris: Good men don’t need rules. And you don’t want to find out why I have so many.
I really hope Tyler Posey finds a way to save teen wolf.
We need redemption for that first movie, and Derek Hale needs justice and to be brought back from bardo.
So many things were done horribly in the first movie when it really could have been done great if Jeff Davis truly cared and was as good of a writer as he claims to be, even with the amount of time he had to write it. I've written better fanfiction in shorter amounts of time.
I hope posey and the rest of the cast that are willing to continue finds a way to make another movie even if we have to buy it on YouTube or something to make the revenue for it. I totally would, I don't know about the rest of yall.
One of my big wishes for my 30th birthday next year is to be happily surprised with the news of a second teen wolf movie! 🤞🏼♥️🙏🏼
Jeff Davis said he passed the torch to Posey. Posey has said he has the script written, and he claims it's great... Hopefully, we get to see!
My Personal Ranking of Teen Wolf Media so far, CONTAINS SPOILERS
1. Season 3B, this is literally the best writing, directing, and acting of the series, with Dylan O'Brien flexing his acting ability, reminder he had no formal acting training, and the death of a main character cemented this as the best season for any YA show in TV history. The Nogitsune aka Void Stiles is fucking terrifying.
2. Season 4, this season is underrated to me, from Kate's return to Derek losing his powers. However this season saw the departure of Tyler Hoechlin from the series as a main cast member, and that may have soured this season for many people. Between the werejaguar and Peter turning heel the villains are at their best and we get the iconic scene of Derek turning into a evolved werewolf.
3. Season 6B, the end of the series kicks into high gear and doesn't stop until the end. Stiles, Derek, Jackson and Ethan all return after long absences and make the show feel like Teen Wolf again, the villain is awful but Theo and Liam easily carry a few episodes.
4. Season 6A, due to Dylan O'Brien needing to leave the show to film Maze Runner, the writer's decided to have new villains called the Ghost Riders kidnap Stiles and effectively erase him from everyone's memories. This leads to the best acting from Tyler Posey imo. This also had the return of Derek via archive footage and Stydia becoming canon.
5. Season 3A, The Alpha pack is severely underrated and I loved how Danny got some character development even if it was small.
6. Season 2, Underrated? Yes. Good? Ehhhhh. The Kanima is fucking iconic and Colton Haynes shows off how fucking incredible he is as an actor. Derek's "Alpha high" is also well played. Boyd and Erica are good side characters but they deserved better
7. Season 5, the first season without Derek and it shows, the show decides to hint at a next generation spin off (which never happened) with extra focus on Liam Dunbar. But it feels like Scott, Stiles, Lydia and Malia are given the backseat. Theo Raeken is easily one of the best villains, manipulating everything to his benefit until it back fires on him. However this season gets boring fast with twenty episodes following one story. My favorite scene is still Stiles finally snapping and punching Scott.
8. Season 1, the start of the series also happens to be the worst. Scott is at his worst but is still likable in parts. The actors quickly get better with every episode, Holland Roden definitely improves fast.
9. Teen Wolf: The Movie, I don't even want to talk about this. This is Scallison fanfiction with all the bad parts of fanfiction, Derek is killed off, Malia and Parrish are a thing, Stydia broke up because of a dream etc. However, I did like Crystal Reed's performance as Allison, balancing being numb and brainwashed and scared because she doesn't know anything, Eli Hale is the best part, and the scene of Derek, Scott and Eli roaring with all the rooms matching their eyes is iconic, the score helps a lot.
Teen Wolf fanfiction recs — RPF
°°°°°°
Tyler Hoechlin/Dylan O'Brien
“The Next Part Just Got In the Way” (M) by calrissian18 | 10,095 | Boy meets boy. Boy fucks boy. Boy metaphorically moves to Antarctica. Or that’s how it feels to Dylan anyway.
“Read Between the Lines” (E) by kriari | 40,753 | After spending five seasons rooted firmly in subtext, Stiles and Derek’s relationship has finally taken a critical turn. While Tyler may attempt to blame his recent confusion on simple character bleed, a questionable decision made in the midst of the ensuing media storm leads him to reevaluate what he’s always told himself. Namely, that he’s not in love with Dylan.
“The Sterek Argument” (M) by calrissian18 | 3,241 | And if Tyler had wanted to listen to logic, he wouldn’t be talking to Dylan. He slumps back against the couch cushions grumpily and points out, “Okay, except in Derek Hale’s land of misery and man-pain, you’re pretty much his best friend.”
“i got you on my lips” (M) by vlieger | 6,001 | “We need to start making out,” said Dylan.
“until we see the sun” (E) by vlieger | 12,731 | Tyler pinpoints Dylan taking over his condo to somewhere around mid-March.
“only true in fairytales” (E) by vlieger | 8,881 | “Oh my God,” said Dylan to Posey once Tyler left. “He likes me.”
"same auld lange sayne" 🔒 (M) by Areiton | 4,241 | Ten years after Teen Wolf ends, Tyler is living a quiet life far from the bright lights of Hollywood. But he didn’t forget it. And he didn’t get over Dylan.
"Strange/Familiar" 🔒 (T) by Areiton | 3,767 | Dylan swung into his world, with big amber eyes and soft pouting lips and an innocence he wanted to dirty right up, and he changed things.
°°°°°°
Ian Bohen/JR Bourne
“Twenty-Four Hours” 🔒 (G) by red_crate | 613 | “I could probably kiss you, and no one would think it was real at this point.” JR muses as he curls both arms around Ian’s chest and tugs him so that Ian is sitting between his legs. He kisses up the back of Ian’s neck and buries his nose in Ian’s hair. They don’t have enough of this, of time together.
“A Picture is Worth a Thousand Words (but there’s still a thousand more left to say)” (E) by GoddessofBirth | 1,887 |™As soon as he snaps the photo, Ian snatches the phone from him and starts typing. JR rolls his eyes and holds his hand out. “Back.” Ian waves him off. “Eat your food. What’s the point of you posting how I lured the hunter with home cooked food if it isn’t true.” “I’m not post – We are not posting that. Ian -” The man in question dances back from JR’s quick grab attack and triumphantly hits send. “Oh yes we did. Well, you did. The fans are gonna eat it up.”
“According to Plan” 🔒 (E) by red_crate | 2,369 | He basks in the feeling of having JR against him, arms around him finally just the way he wants after a day spent in front of fans. So close, yet not what he wanted. But this, here and now, is it. He can touch and taste to his heart’s content without worrying about privacy.
"Wanna Give Him a Show?" 🔒 (E) by lavenderlotion | 2,581 | Ian’s smile turns into a grin, and the look his flashes JR is playful, his lips pulled up into a smile JR knows to be teasing. He makes himself comfortable, his belly tightening with excitement. Ian’s eyes have never sparkled like that and left him disappointed.
°°°°°°
Ian Bohen/JR Bourne/Tyler Hoechlin
"Birthday Boy" 🔒 (E) by DizzyRedhead | 3,352 | After the cameras go off, Ian and JR have plans for Tyler's birthday.
°°°°°°
Tyler Hoechlin/Dylan, /Ian, /JR
"Pictures of You and Us" 🔒 (NR) by Areiton | 3,314 | He can't quit looking. It's always been a problem, but it's worse right now. It's worse because Ian is sending photos, Hoech half asleep and smiling, Hoech grinning shyly from behind a cup of coffee. Hoech, unaware and sunlit.
I'm sorry, but I don't understand what the amount of Scott/Kira has to do with your thesis that Sterek shippers spread hate. Fanfics are written by fans and there is no rule about what someone should or shouldn't write.
So whether or not Derek's father is explored I don't understand what it has to do with it, as well as the fact that there are few stories with Scott/Kira. First of all secondary pairs are not always tagged with /, often only the names appear, so your number is already not 100% accurate, secondly if you want to say the numbers you have to say them all: on ao3 (just one of the fanfic platforms I would like to remind you) at the moment there are 141,605 fanfics on Teen Wolf.
73,483 are stereks;
8,714 are Allison/Scott;
3,904 are Scott/Stiles;
3,669 are Isaac/Scott;
2,937 are Kira/Scott.
1,012 are Allison/Isaac/Scott
718 are Scott/Malia
plus 899 where is either with Allison and Kira; Theo; Jackson; and others.
while there are 321 fanfics with Derek/Scott/Stiles for your information.
This means that 22.495 fanfics have Scott in a tagged relationship (one more one less, also because I didn't go and look for all the possible ships).
Btw, of the 63 fanfics in the "101 Ways to kill Scott McCall" series only 9 include a relationship between Stiles and Derek.
There are 2,179 fanfics with Bad Friend Scott McCall (and not 2,825 as you say by the way).
So, first of all we are talking about 2,179 fanfics out of 141,605 total, of which only 1,129 stereks (out of the 73,483 total stereks, I remind you).
So just to clarify, your claim that sterek shippers are hateful and racist towards Scott is only supported by 1,129 fanfics out of a total of 73,483 fanfics, which is 1.5364097819% to be precise. And here we are not even taking into consideration the fanfics where he is tagged as a bad friend but then in the end he redeems himself and they make peace or how -being a specific tag and not as widespread as you would like us to believe- many fanfics are written by the same author, decreasing the actual percentage of people writing about Bad Friend Scott McCall.
And you're also not taking into account that Scott is shipped (even canonically) with multiple people, so the total percentage of him being in a relationship is split between all the ships that involve him (where Stiles is mainly shipped with Derek and vice versa).
In all honesty, I couldn't care less if you hate Sterek or just fanfics about Derek's father (which apparently bothers you a lot), if you love Scott McCall and would like to see him more with that person rather than the other one, but please stop screaming racism or hateful fans just because people don't write enough of what you want.
There may be (and there are) many reasons why people may not like Tyler Posey and receive queerbaiting where they promise sterek if it wins the ship contest and then be told that whoever watches the show for that ship is delusional is one of these and it is perfectly valid.
The same goes for Scott McCall's character. If some fans don't like him, it doesn't mean it's due to the fact that the actor has a certain percentage of origins not considered white by Americans. The show itself gave the material to write stories where Scott is held accountable for his mistakes. And whether or not they can be thought of as real mistakes by you or me is completely irrelevant.
Fanfics are a way to escape and write about things we like, people don't have to write about people you like just because then you might accuse them of god knows what.
If there are racist fans this has nothing to do with sterek or any other ship. A person is racist no matter what the topic is and unfortunately there are still too many racists around. But this does not mean that it is the ship that generates racism.
Also, I would like to add that not all fans write fanfiction. There are dozens of people who love Teen Wolf who don't even know what fanfic is. Sterek fans being more prolific does not mean that they represent the real fan base. And among other things, fanfic is often written to share what you would have liked to see but haven't seen. Until proven otherwise, Scott's character has had his fair share of well-constructed romantic relationships. And it wasn't Sterek fans who pushed Arden Cho to leave, but Scallison fans. So if you really want to point fingers, look the other way.
Moonlight Beta: Chapter 1 - New Girl, New Werewolf
Series Masterlist
Prologue, Chapter 2
Pairing: Scott McCall x Fem!Liam Dunbar
Please comment, like and share
Stiles and Scott made their way to the lacrosse field for practice before tryouts, both too wrapped up in the supernatural world to notice the new players on the field.
"Now what the hell are we even doing here anyway?" Stiles asked, "We got like 117 million problems, and worrying about our status on the lacrosse team is not one of them!"
While Stiles was ranting to Scott, the teen alpha had his eyes fell on a lacrosse player. They were perfect at the goalie position, something that made him realize that they were gonna have to step up their game.
"It is now," Scott said, gesturing to the player.
Stiles watched, upset, "Who the hell is that?"
The player took off their helmet, showing that it was just so happened to be a freshman girl.
Garrett whistled and stepped closer, smiling, "Nice, Lia! You might just be our first ever freshman captain. And the first female captain. Finally a good change around here."
Lia smiled brightly, "Thanks. That's pretty much the plan," she said, fist bumping the other guy who threw balls toward her.
"Okay, maybe we should just practice a little bit," Stiles admitted, still gawking at the blue eyes girl with Scott.
--------
In the girls locker room, Lia was changing her clothes.
After she changed into her jeans and tank top, she texted her step father and told him what happened in practice.
She had been extremely proud of herself. She had not only kept her anger in check but managed to impress the team. After having to transfer after being kicked out of her old school, Lia was worried that she wouldn't be allowed on the team. Luckily, however, they seemed to not care.
She had a new start at a new school that her best friend Mason went to. She even had more friends like Garrett and Violet. In Lia's mind, things were starting to look up already.
I'm proud of you, kiddo. Keep it up!
Lia chuckled softly at her father's text, and placed her phone in her jeans pocket. As she put her shirt over her tank top, she heard two people enter the locker room, two boys she knew were juniors.
The team Captain Scott McCall, and Stiles Stilinski.
Lia raised an eyebrow at the two, "Uh, wrong room, boys."
"Hey, Lia," Stiles said, ignoring her comment, "You want to explain what that was out there?"
Lia looked at Stiles with a clear look of confusion, "What do you mean? And, can't you get into trouble with been here in the girls' locker room?" she asked, taking her hair out of the ponytail it was previously in.
"That little display," Stiles said, "Your little circus act."
"Circus act?" Lia asked in confusion, "Like the Britney Spears song?"
"I meant that you caught every shot," he said.
Lia frowned, "I was in goal."
"Yeah, but nothing, not a single shot got passed you," Stiles said. He wouldn't give up, no human could be that good, not a fifteen year old, anyway. Especially one who didn't look like she had much muscle.
"Yeah, I was the goalie," Lia pointed out, "You guys played this game before?"
Stiles grunted, gesturing his alpha-best friend to step in.
"You're a freshman, right?" Scott asked. Lia nodded in response, "Yeah."
"But you weren't here last semester," Stiles said. Lia shook her head, still confused. She shrugged and looked between them, "I transferred from Devenford Prep."
Scott heard the tiny skip in her heartbeat, frowning when he realized she lied, "You transferred?" Lia nodded, "Yeah," she said as Stiles and Scott exchanged a look.
Scott looked at her, "No, you got kicked out, didn't you?" Lia tensed at Scott's words, squeezing her hand into a fist, and she gave a small scoff.
"Alright, look," she said, "Kicked out, transferred--what do you guys care? You aren't even supposed to be in here! I came here to play lacrosse. This team could use a few good players, right?"
Stiles quickly shook his head, "No, no. We don't need any more good players."
Scott realized she wasn't a supernatural threat, smiling at the freshman, "Actually, we could sort of use a couple."
Lia looked at him and smiled more brightly at him. Stiles glared at Scott before turning his attention back towards Lia, taking back her and Scott's attention.
"Okay, how'd you get this good?" he asked, "Have you always been this good? Or did it suddenly happen just once overnight?" Lia frowned while Scott's eyes grew wide.
Stiles continued, "Have you ever been out in the middle of the woods during the night of a full--" Scott cut him off before he could continue. "Stiles."
The two boys stared at each other before Lia answered, "I learned from my stepdad, alright?" She looked over at Scott. "He made team captain when he was a sophomore. Like you. And I want to make team captain like the two of you... just, you know, more female."
Scott let out a chuckle, and he smiled. Lia smiled softly and then turned to Stiles, her soft smile turning to a smirk, "And yeah, I guess I'm just that good." She grabbed her backpack and left the room.
Stiles and Scott watched her leave. Stiles was annoyed while Scott smiled softly, "She wasn't lying that time."
--------
Coach walked into the boys' locker room with Lia. He called out to everyone, "Let me remind you it is an open try out today. All positions available. This is a rebuilding season people," he said in fake enthusiasm.
Lia leaned against one of the lockers with Garrett as Coach continued, "Jackson's gone, Lahey's gone, Greenberg the one guy I actually wanted gone, was held back... again," he said sadly at the end, "Get your asses on the field!"
Lia put on her pads, when Scott went up to Coach asking if he was still Captain. And he repeated what he said earlier, "All positions are open."
Lia glanced over as Scott walked away, looking a little worried. She felt bad for him, but it also meant she had a chance at being captain and she was excited to say the least.
After everyone got into the field, Coach blew his whistle as people crossed the finish line. Lia was first to finish, and then she heard Coach speaking to the rest who came after her, "Terrible! Horrifying! Pathetic! Unbelievably pathetic... Is that everyone?" he asked as Stiles walked past him, panting.
He was breathing heavily as he fell down, and Scott came to help him up. "She came in first," Stiles told Scott as they watched Lia doing push ups. "She isn't human. What is she? Like a Were-Cheetah? Does it even exist, is that a thing?"
"I think she's just that good," Scott said. Stiles and Scott weren't naturally strong just from sports. Scott has his werewolf strength and Stiles built a lot of strength as he battled monsters. But neither of them had been that strong before, not like the freshman.
Stiles panted, "I'm gonna puke, take me somewhere."
After everyone were done, Coach was going to have them throw shots.
Stiles was first he couldn't roll the ball into his net which made everyone laugh, Lia couldn't help but giggle a little. He throw it and it landed right in the goalies net.
Everyone laughed more, Lia was next.
She was smiled lightly at Stiles, as he walked past her. And Stiles puffed out his chest to her in a whatcha-gonna-do-bout-it kind of way.
Lia put the ball into her net and got ready to throw. Stiles said from the back of the line to Scott, "Maybe she is only good at goalie and is totally useless every where else."
Scott just nodded his head as Lia concentrated. She took the shot and it went into the goal. People cheered as Coach called in a cheer, "Yes!"
Lia smiled, spinning her lacrosse stick in her hands. Stiles glared, jealous, saying quietly, "Or maybe she's just perfect at everything. I hate this kid."
"You don't have to hate her," Scott said, defending the girl, "The team needs new players."
Stiles glanced at him as Lia and Garrett high-fived each other, "What about a new team Captain?"
Scott looked back at Stiles in shock; he was right, Lia could take his position as team Captain.
It was Scott's turn and he walked up and put the ball in his net. He threw it and it went too far right and hit the pole of the goal and bounced off.
The team laughed while Stiles bit his lip and Scott looked confused. "Nice McCall," Garret said sarcastically.
"Hey, Garrett... shut up," Stiles said as Garrett smiled.
Lia continued to throw good shots that went into the goal, while Scott threw them too far left or right or even to far up. Every time Lia sincerely said, "Better luck next time." She smiled nicely at him, but Scott ignored her, frustrated.
Scott walked to where Stiles was, throwing his gloves down frustrated. Stiles raised his arms in a what are you doing? kind of way. "Dude, what is going on with you?" Stiles asked Scott mad.
"I don't know I'm having a really off day," Scott said really disappointed in himself.
"Off day?" Stiles repeated, "You were dying out there. I feel actually pain watching you."
"I didn't see you making any shots," Scott replied.
"Yeah, that it because I am terrible, though, Scott," Stiles told him. "You... You are the Alpha."
"Not on the field," Scott told him. "I'm human on the field."
"Well, human you is kind of sucking at the moment," Stiles told him. "So do you think there is any way you could use just a little tiny wolf power?"
Scott sighed, shaking his head, "It's cheating."
"I know it is," Stiles told him, "I just hate seeing this little freshman girl come in and steal all your glory after you worked your tushie off. I hate it."
"She's not gonna steal all the glory," Scott said and Stiles scoffed, as everyone cheered as Lia got another goal.
"Yes!" Coach cheered as the team congratulated the girl. "Hot damn! Yeah!"
Scott's eyes turned red as he started to use his wolf powers. Coach blew his whistle and everyone gathered around him.
"McCall and Stilinski. Grab a long stick. You're covering the goal for two-on-ones. Let's go! Line it up!"
Scott and Stiles got ready in their spot. "We still don't know if she's a werewolf, too," Stiles said, "And if she is, she'd just be cheating. And we'd just be cheating the cheater."
"But she's not," Scott said, shaking his head as he looked at Lia while she talked to the guys around her, "I'd know. I'd be able to catch her scent or something."
"Maybe you need to get closer," Stiles said in hopes that the girl was a werewolf so he didn't feel so bad about himself.
"I think I'm about to get my chance," Scott said as Lia got in line and put her helmet on.
Scott and Stiles got ready.
Garrett stepped forward, getting the ball, running toward Stiles and Scott, spinning around to try to get past them. Scott hit his stick against the Garrett's, making him fall and drop the stick and ball.
Everyone clapped, and Coach cheered, "That's my boy!" He pointed at Stiles and Scott, "Those two are like sons to me!"
Scott and Stiles smiled at each other as the next person was about to come. Lia clapped the boy on the back giving him a little confidence.
The boy ran toward Stiles and Scott, and they ran toward him. They pushed him down, and everyone cheered.
Scott and Stiles bumped heads and Stiles shook his head at the pain he felt. Another guy went and got knocked down.
"That's how you do it!" Coach cheered. "That's how it's done!"
Lia was starting to get nervous a little, but she was going to use her smallness to her advantage.
As Scott and Stiles chest bumped and Stiles fell from the force. Scott went to help him up but he jumped up before he could make it to him.
Lia was up next, swinging the stick back and forth. Scott and Stiles looked at each other a little nervous. Lia got the ball as Coach blew his whistle, and they took off. But Lia dodged both of them and she swung the net around her and through.
The ball went in the goal and everyone cheered as Lia muttered, "Yes!"
"That was luck!" Everyone's eyes snapped over to the werecoyote in the bleachers. She stood up, clearly not understanding how it worked. "Oh no Malia, don't get involved" Stiles mumbled.
"Do-over!"
Lia's eyes grew wide, she barely got it last time, Coach wouldn't make her do it again would he?
Coach turned towards Malia, "Sweetheart, there are no do-overs. This is a practice." Coach was going to ignore her until she decided to gamble. "Ten bucks on Scott and Stiles." This made Coach interested, "I'll take that action. Hey! Get back in there, Lia!"
Apparently he would Lia thought as she went back to the front of the line. "You got this, Lia," Garrett said as he placed a hand on her shoulder before backing.
Lia nodded lightly and took a deep breathe nervous, as Scott and Stiles got ready.
Scott was angrier now and his wolf was out more. Coach blew the whistle and Scott growled as they started to run. Lia dodged Stiles but Scott was right there and he hit her harder than he had the others, flipping her over his shoulder.
Lia landed hard on her back and her feet. There was a loud snap and she gave out a loud cry of pain. Everyone said ohh and the whistle fell out of Coach's mouth. Scott and Stiles took off their helmets and looked at Lia in shock as she cried out when she tried to get up.
Scott instantly regretted for using his powers.
The team ran to her side as Scott watched in shock and remorse. Coach, knowing of her disorder, ran over. "Don't move! Don't touch her!"
Garrett quickly kneeled down next to Lia and helped her take off her helmet. Lia hissed in pain but quickly tried to cover it, "I'm okay, Coach. I'm good."
Scott heard her heart skip a beat, feeling even worse for what he had done. The two boys helped her up, wrapping their arms around her to help.
"I think we better get her to the nurse," Stiles said. Coach nodded, gesturing for them to leave, and Scott and Stiles helped Lia to walk.
--------
The nurse couldn't do anything about her injured leg, so they had to drive Lia to the hospital. The entire time Scott and Stiles tried to talk to her but she didn't respond.
The two boys helped Lia into the hospital, Stiles had the teen use him as a crutch when Scott went to check in.
Melissa McCall, Scott's Mom and a nurse at the hospital, showed up to see Scott checking in. "Uh, hi Mom," Scott greeted and Stiles waved with his free hand.
Melissa got Lia a wheelchair so she didn't have to walk, "Don't worry, Lia. We'll take good care of you." Melissa wheeled her off, leaving the boys behind.
Stiles turned to face Scott, absentmindedly playing with his keys, "I got to get going. I promised Malia I'd help her study."
Scott nodded, still feeling horribly guilty, "Sure. I want to check on her anyway."
Stiles noticed his expression, "Hey, I don't need to say that wasn't your fault, right?"
Scott shurgged lightly, "I don't know."
Stiles placed a hand on his shoulder, "Scott, if you had used any wolf power that kid wouldn't be limping, she'd be crawling, back to the other half of her body."
Scott continued to stare down the hallway, "If I hadn't been so worried about being Captain she wouldn't be hurt either."
"It's okay to want something for yourself once in a while," Stiles said, "Team Captain, Alpha werewolf. You're still only human." Scott turned and watched his best friend walk away.
He knew Stiles was trying to help but that was the thing, Scott wasn't a human anymore. He was a werewolf. Lia, she wasn't a werewolf. She was human.
--------
Lia's (step) father was extremely kind person to her and her mother, something she was always grateful for considering her biological father wasn't in her life.
Her father made sure she will get a room quickly and he was there to personally check on her leg.
Lia winced slightly when she felt pain, "It's broken, isn't it?" she asked softly in sadness.
Sam sighed softly, "It's definitely going to need an X-ray." Lia looked down sadly at her hands, "It's all my fault."
Her Dad looked at her sympathetically, "You want to tell me what happened?"
Scott was outside the room because he was coming to apologize, but slowed to a stop near the door and listened in with his werewolf hearing.
"I went up against two juniors, one was the team captain," she admitted, "I thought if I could just prove that I was just as good as them... that I might not feel like I don't belong."
"Remember what we always say, play smart not hard," Sam said.
Lia looked up at him sadly, "Are you mad at me?" The sadness and fear in the girl's voice made Scott feel even worse.
Sam shook his head, "No. Of course not. Your Mom might be mad at me for getting you into Lacrosse, but maybe we can wait for the x-ray before we panic."
Lia looked at him in panic, "We can't tell her, Dad. She never liked me playing Lacrosse, she said it's not for girls. If she finds out about this, she will make me quit." She looked at her leg sadly, "On second thought if it's broken, I won't be able to play anyways will I?"
"Trust me I have more of a reason to panic then you," her father said, trying to light her mood up. "It's not over yet. Wait for the x-ray."
Lia nodded slightly and Sam kissed the top of her head before walking out of the room.
Scott turned and lowered his head as Sam walked out of the room and past him. Scott let out a sigh and shook his head, disappointed with himself.
Scott took a deep breath before he turned and he walked to the door. He stepped into the room as he knocked on the door softly, making the girl look up to him in surprise.
"Hey," he said softly, "I, uh... I wanted to apologize for what happened back then."
"Thanks," she muttered and smiled a small sad smile, "Not a good impression back there huh?" Scott looked startled a little but quickly shook his head, "No. No, no, you definitely impressed me and everyone else on the field, that--that's for sure. I was the one who got over reacting."
"Nice hits, by the way," Lia said softly. "Thanks," he muttered as he walked closer, "Uh, look, I--"
"Don't worry about it, Scott," Lia said with a shake of her head, "Thanks for been here, I'll be okay."
Scott nodded his head lightly as he glanced at her ankle. "Is it still hurts?"
Lia shook her head, "No. It doesn't." Scott listened to her heart and knew she was lying so he wouldn't worry. He hesitated for a second before gently placing his hand on hers as he asked about Sam, "Hey, uh, that Doc that came out--" Lia glanced at his hand on hers in surprise before quickly looking at his face, "I couldn't help but listen in a bit, was that your--"
"That's my step father, yeah," Lia answered. As Scott distracted her, black veins trailed into his hand, signaling that Lia was in pain because of her ankle.
Scott took a deep breath and nodded before gently letting go of her hand. He sat down next to her bed on the chair.
Lia looked at her ankle with a frown, moving it slightly. "Huh," she said out loud, it doesn't hurt anymore, she thought in surprise.
"What it is?" Scott asked, acting confused. Lia looked at him and shook her head, smiling softly, "Nothing," she said softly, and he couldn't help but smile softly back.
Scott didn't knew why, but he felt the need to protect her for some reason. He never felt the urge so strong like that before, not even with Allison.
His thoughts were interrupted when he felt his phone vibrated in his pocket. He took it out and saw it was Lydia. He looked at Lia, "Hey, uh, I got to answer this, but then I will come back, want something to drink? Eat?"
Lia smiled softly and shook her head, "No, thank you."
Scott nodded and stood up. He glanced at the girl with a small smile as he answered the phone as he walked out, "Hey, Lydia."
Lia looked to the door even after Scott left and smiled lightly.
--------
Lia was waiting in her room alone when she heard some loud and scary noises. She frowned and slowly got out of her bed. As she limped out of the room, she noticed the hallways were suspiciously empty. "Anyone hear that?" she asked.
As she looked around, she saw a young man covered in blood walking towards her maliciously, and she gasped in shock as she backed away.
Scott heard screams and followed it up to the hospital's roof, his face was formed to his werewolf side, and his eyes were glowing red. "Get back!" the Wendigo yelled at Scott, holding Lia hostage on the edge.
"You don't need to do this," Scott said as Lia managed to look over at him, "Whatever it is, whatever you are, we can help you."
"No, you can't!" the Wendigo said.
Scott's eyes stayed on Lia for a moment, beyond scared that Sean would end up killing her. "Let me help you."
"Wendigos don't need help. We need food."
He turned Lia around and about to bite her. Lia scream and Scott jumped up toward them. Scott roared as the Wendigo pushes the girl off the edge. She screamed but at the last moment her fingers caught on to the ledge.
Scott pushes the wendigo away and he grabbed her arm. But the wendigo grabbed Scott's arms and pull them behind his back. Lia looked from under her to up to Scott, scared, "Scott! I can't hold on!"
She started to slip, and Scott roared before he bite her arm, piercing the skin drawing blood. He bit down hard and she screamed in pain.
Suddenly they heard a loud slice, and a gasp, and Sean released Scott, falling back dead.
Scott let go of Lia's arm with his teeth and quickly grabbed her arms with his hands. Scott set Lia aside and looked to Sean's body before to the door.
Lia's gasping and groaning in pain brought his attention back to her. She was holding her now bleeding, bit arm, and she looked up at Scott in confusion and shock.
Scott stared at her, slowly shifting back to his normal face, and he let out a shaky breath.
He bit her.
She was now his Beta.
~~~
When I got home I saw Lydia sitting on my bed hugging one of my pillows. "Where have you been?" She asks hugging my pillow tighter.
"With a friend." I tell her but she stays quiet. "Lydia, why are you in my room?" I ask her.
"I just wanted to see what you were doing?" She sighs and I can tell she wanted to cry or either cried earlier.
"What's wrong Lydia?" I ask her in a serious tone.
"Why do you ask that?" She puts my pillow back.
"You seem upset." I take a seat on my bed.
"Jackson broke up with me." Her voice cracks.
"You don't need him. You're Lydia Martin." I tell her.
"But I love him."
I sigh, "Lydia, he treats you like shit. Especially when we were in the school that night. How do you let treat you like that? And let him flirt with Allison? Stand up for yourself." I snap at her.
"He doesn't treat me bad." She looks down.
"How did he break up with you? Word for word?" I ask her.
"He sent me a text saying, Lydia, please give up my spare house key at your earliest convenience. SoIasked him as if we're no longer dating to which he said he decided to drop some dead weight in his life...and I'm just about the deadest." She explains to me.
"Lydia... that's treating you like shit!" I tell her.
"I didn't come in here to be yelled at." She gets off my bed going to the door to leave.
"I raised my voice because you said he doesn't treat you bad, but he didn't break up with you, he dumped you... in an asshole way. I'm just trying to tell you, you deserve better than Jackson." I tell her right before she slams my bedroom door. I sigh shaking my head flipping her off behind the door. I literally was just trying to be there for her and help her out.
Saturday I ignore my phone going off from Stiles because I just wasn't in the mood. Last night with Lydia just pissed me off because I hate how our relationship is now. "How about you get off your ass and get out of the house. You ignored my texts and calls yesterday when we could have needed you. And your phone is still turned off." Stiles burst through my bedroom door.
"How the hell does my mom let you in?" I groan pausing my movie.
"She doesn't. I let myself in." He gives me a duh look.
"We lock our doors." I raise an eyebrow.
"I know, that's why I had a key made." He shows me the key.
"Give me that." I jump out of bed going for the key.
"No." He holds it up high.
"You really going to my height as an advantage?" I cross my arms.
"You're 5'3 so yeah." He laughs making me punch his shoulder.
"Get out and let me get dressed." I groan walking over to my closet.
"I'll be waiting in the jeep." He leaves my room.
I get dressed then head outside getting in his jeep. "So because I ignored you yesterday you're dragging me out today?" I ask as he drives to Scott's.
"Pretty much." He smiles over at me.
"I regret putting myself into this spot." I sigh causing him to laugh at me. "That's funny?" I look over at him.
"Yeah." He laughs looking at the road.
"Explain, please." I smile since he found it so funny.
"If you never went back to find the other half of the body, you wouldn't be in my jeep right now. But you did so now you are stuck with me and Scott." He looks over at me giving me a smile.
"It's more like I'm stuck with you. Scott doesn't have a key to my house. He doesn't drag me around. He doesn't show up whenever. He doesn't spam me with calls and texts. He doesn't-,"
Stiles cuts me off, "Okay, I get it. You're just stuck with me, not Scott." He says making me laugh.
When we get to Scott's we see him searching his room looking for something. "Someone call my phone." He tells us as messing up his room. Stiles ends up calling it a lot but Scott has no luck and won't give up. "Call it again." Scott tells Stiles making us sigh.
"It's not here. If it was you would've heard it by now." I explain leaning against the wall.
"Okay, so you lost your phone. Why don't you just get a new one?" Stiles tells him.
"I can't afford a new one. And I can't do this alone. We have to find Derek." Scott keeps looking.
"Well, A, you're not alone. You have me." I clear my throat. "... and Julia. And B, didn't you say Derek walked into gunfire? He sounds pretty dead." Stiles adds.
"Argent's plan was to use him to get to the Alpha - they're not gonna kill him." Scott tells him.
"All right, so then just let them do what they're planning, you know? They use Derek to get Peter - problem solved." Stiles says as Scott throws around clothes.
"Not if Peter's going after Allison to find Derek! I can't protect her on my own. Which means we either find Derek first...just...just help me!" Scott snaps.
"You know, you probably lost it when you two were fighting." I suggest making Stiles agree and add to it.
"You remember that, when he was trying to kill you, after you interrupted him trying to kill Jackson? Are you starting to see a pattern of violent behavior here?" I just stare at the back of his head.
"He wasn't going to kill anyone. And I'm not letting him die." Scott tells him.
"Could you at least think about letting him die? For me?" Stiles whines so I smack him upside the head.
"What?" I notice Scott hears something.
"My Mom just got home from work." He says listing to her.
"Is she okay?" I ask and he shakes his head no.
"What's she doing?" Stiles asks.
"Crying." He tells us before sitting down on his bed upset.
"Scott, you can't protect everyone." Stiles tells him.
"I have to." He looks at us. We don't stay that long at Scott's so when we head out I was surprised Stiles didn't take me straight home.
"I don't remember telling you I wanted to come over to your place." I raise an eyebrow as we get to his place.
"Well you don't remember you telling me you wanted me to take you home." He raises an eyebrow. We both just stare at each other for a few seconds in his parked jeep.
"I hate you and that sarcasm is your only defense." I get out of his jeep walking to the front door.
"Hello Julia." Noah says as I walk in.
"Your son brought me here without my consent and against my will so be basically he's kidnapping me." I say walking into the dining room. "He also lets himself into my house without us knowing." I add as I hear Stiles shut the front door.
"Stiles." His dad calls out making him come in.
"That's not entirely true... I say hi to your mom when I make my way up to your room. So she knows I'm there." He makes a face at me.
"To apologize for my son's actions... I'm ordering pizza for dinner, would you like to stay for dinner?" Noah asks me.
"I'm sure she doesn't want to." Stiles speaks for me.
"Actually I would love to. What, you drag me out of my house, say I'm stuck with you but don't want me to stay for dinner?" I cross my arms at him.
"Huh? We would love to have you stay for dinner. I'm going to my room now." He leaves making me and his dad laugh at him.
"Again, I'm sorry you are stuck with him as a friend now." Noah gets up patting my back.
"He's alright at times." I smile at him then head to Stiles room. "Are you cleaning up a little?" I ask stopping in his doorway.
"Just had some dirty clothes laying out." He snatched up a pair of boxers up and throws them in his hamper.
"I'm not Lydia so don't worry. You don't have to make anything look nice to impress me. Plus I've been in here before when it was messy with clothes and papers." I remind him but he changes the topic.
"I can't believe you snitched on me to my dad." He sits down on his bed.
"Well you should because I did." I sit at his computer going to put on All Time Low.
"I regret bringing you here and not home. Now I gotta have dinner with you." He groans causing me to laugh.
"That's what you get and I'm sorry it's not with my sister you love so much." I say the second part sarcastically.
"Why do you do that?" He asks me.
"What?" I turn to face him.
"Keep saying things about Lydia. You're not Lydia, don't worry. Sorry I'm not having dinner with Lydia." He tilts his head.
"Because I can." I laugh it off.
"Julia." He says my name in a serious tone.
"What? I should be able to joke about things because you're in love with my sister." I continue to laugh.
"Don't though. Not because it's embarrassing or annoying... it's because you don't need to compare yourself to her." He says making me stop.
"I know I don't need to but I'm used to it so just ignore it when I do. When I do it I try to joke about it." I tell him truthfully.
"Remember when I first asked you why aren't you like Lydia at Lacrosse practice?" He brings it up again.
"Yeah, when we were thinking Scott was a werewolf. Why are you bringing it up?" I ask him.
"Then I said at the party I didn't mean for it to come off in a bad way earlier. I meant it as, there's just something, I can't explain it... I think I'm getting close to fully understand what it is to describe." He says making me want to cry but I hold it back.
"And what would that be Stiles Stilinski?" I force a laugh.
"I can't tell you just yet but I can say I should have been talking to you back in third grade. You're a great person to be around. Everyone should get the chance to get to know Julia Reese Martin and know her for who she is. Not just by some stupid label given to her because she happens to be Lydia Martin's sister." He says giving me a look at he really means what he was saying.
I can't help but get up and leave his room going to the bathroom locking the door to cry. I sit down on the toilet covering my face quietly crying into my hands. I've never had someone tell me that so it meant a lot to me. Especially coming from someone, who I know is obsessed with Lydia. After a few seconds I look in the mirror and make sure I don't look so red. I take a breath in and walk out to see Stiles leaning against the wall. "Can I help you?" I laugh.
"I'm here if you need someone to talk to and you look like you really need someone right now." He sighs making me want to cry again.
"I-I..." My voice cracks making Stiles pull me into a hug rubbing my back.
"Let it out." He tells me so I cry into his chest.
"What you said means a lot to me. Be-because n-n-no one has ever said that to-to me." He just continues to rub my back.
"Well I'm glad to be the first to do so. That means you can never forget it." He says making me smile as I step back.
"Pizza is here." Noah calls out so we head to the kitchen. Dinner was really nice with the two of them and it felt like I was part of the family.
~
The next day after school I go to the mall with Lydia and Allison so we can pick a dress for the dance. "Something wrong Allison?" I ask seeing her out of it.
"Nothing's wrong, I just, I have a lot on my mind." She tells us.
"You could smile, at least. Ever heard of the saying, Never frown. Someone could be falling in love with your smile. Smile, Allison. I'm buying you a dress." Lydia tells her as we go up the escalator.
"I have to admit as far as apologies go, that's more than I expected." Allison says and I guess she found out about Lydia kissing Scott. "But not as much as I'm going to ask." Allison adds.
"What? What's that supposed to mean?" Lydia asks as we get off.
"It means you're going to cancel on whatever dumb, roided up jock you said yes to and you're going to go with somebody else." Allison tells her.
"Who?" She asks.
"Him." We look over at Stiles and I start to laugh for two reasons. One; he sprayed perfume in his face. Two; he is going to lose it. "Oh...Don't frown, Lydia. Someone could be falling in love with your smile." Allison tells her as Stiles waves at us.
"You're his friend, come on." Lydia grabs my hand pulling me over to Stiles with her. "You're taking me to the dance and Julia is going to tag along because she knows you. Now lets find me a dress." She snaps her fingers at him.
"You heard her." I snap my fingers at him so he will follow her. As I look for a dress I like I can't help but laugh at Lydia tossing dresses at Stiles so she can try them on. "Oh okay, so are you just gonna...try these on right now? All of them? Is this a 24 hour Macy's?" He follows her so I follow them with a three dresses to try on.

At home getting ready for the dance, Lydia comes into my room. "You didn't let me see what dress you picked." I stand up to show her. "That doesn't look bad on you! Who are you trying to impress? Your friend... S-s-st-stiles." She snaps her fingers. "Do you like him?" She smiles at me.
"What? No. I'm not trying to impress anyone. And one, he doesn't like me like that. Trust me, he's in love with someone else." I eye her.
"Well he's dumb for not liking you. Especially after he sees you tonight." She leaves my room. Why is she being nice? Not much later our mom calls out for us saying Stiles was here to pick us up. "I'll be right there. I'm fixing up my makeup." Lydia says as I head downstairs.
"Lydia is touching up her makeup so she'll be done in a second." I say walking down the stairs not noticing how Stiles looked at me because I was looking down while I walked. When I walk over to his side I finally look up to see him looking at me. "Don't worry. I won't be around y'all so you can be alone with her." I laugh thinking that's why he was staring at me.
When Lydia does come done he didn't turn his head to look at her so I nudged him to look at her. Our mom wishes us to have a good time and we leave heading to the school. When we get there Stiles let's Lydia out then me. "Jackson. You look handsome." She smiles as he walks up with Allison.
"Obviously. It's Hugo Boss." He tells her before walking off making me flip him off.
"Asshole. I'll see you guys inside." I leave her and Stiles going in alone. I end up sitting in the bleachers alone and don't even notice Scott come up and sit behind me.
"You're my shield." He says making realize he was here.
"Okay." I agree as he probably scans for Allison. "Why aren't you sitting with Stiles and Lydia?" He asks me.
"Letting him live out his dream with her." I laugh watching them from where I sat.
"So you are going to just sit here alone all night?" He asks me.
"That was my plan from the start." I say as I see Lydia agree to dance with Stiles.
"You're lame." Scott laughs making me turn around to slap him.
"McCall! I see you!" Coach shouts out from across the room making Scott get up and run away.
"That was your fault." I shout out. I watch him run over to Danny and act like he was dancing with making Coach let him dance because he made it seem like it was wrong.

Characters: Tyler Posey/Reader
Word Count: 4,488
Warnings: Maybe strong language, mentions of sex, drinking, and sad shit.
Song: New by Daya
Notes: This isn’t my first attempt at writing but it is my first time posting it. Shoutout to @ellebabyy for threatening to kick my ass if I didn’t share it.
You had never been as independent like you had been the past several months. After your breakup with Tyler, you struggled to get back on your feet. You didn’t realize how much you really depended on him until you moved out of his apartment. Although you were now dating someone new, you felt like there was something missing from your life. It’s not like you didn’t know what, or who, it was either. You missed Tyler, more than words can describe. You didn’t think your last fight would lead to the end of your relationship. He wanted to travel the world and you weren’t going to stop him, but it still hurt that he wanted to do it alone.
Tyler’s career had been skyrocketing in his band, PVMNTS. You could honestly say that you were and will always be his number one supporter. He was offered a worldwide tour with the band, and of course, you couldn’t have been more proud of him. When he told you that he would have to leave without you due to the lack of room in the tour bus, your heart fell. He had already spent so much time away from you in order to film his new movies and wrap up Teen Wolf. When you brought it to his attention that you were worried about the distance, he immediately took it as you trying to hold him back to refrain from interacting with his new co-star, Sophia Ali. Although you did sense her ‘more than friendly’ admiration of Tyler, you would never allow your possessiveness get in the way of him accomplishing his dreams. The last thing you wanted was to prevent him from expanding his career, you just missed him. Instead of arguing with him, you did what you thought was best. The two of you agreed to separate until he returned and go from there. He knew you couldn’t wait forever and there was no promise that he’d be returning any time soon. You knew you couldn’t hold him back no matter what that meant. Still, you missed him.
After a few months passed, you decided to broaden your career as well. Right when you felt as if the world had hit rock bottom, your agent called and told you that you might’ve hit the jackpot with a chance of modeling for New York’s very own Fashion Week. You met Ross during this specific occasion, seeing he was one of the photographers for fashion industry event. The two of you seemed to click instantly and after a few weeks of texting back and forth, he took you on an official date. You wanted to say you were happier than ever, that you made the right choice, but it didn’t feel that way deep down. The more you tried to escape Tyler, the more he would suddenly appear. Literally. He was making headlines everywhere: from magazines, to talk shows, even Instagram ads. There was one article in particular that crushed you, “Tyler Posey Dating ‘Truth or Dare’ Co-Star Sophia Ali.” Seeing the genuine smile in the picture of them at Comic Con ate you up inside, knowing it was tradition the two of you used to share. There was nothing left for you to do except be happy with Ross. Simple, right?
Wrong.
♪ When you walk past that park near your apartment now, do you still think about me? Do you still think about me? Do you drive fast when you realize you’re on my street? Do you drive slowly? Do you think about me? ♪
You smiled as you watched the trees pass, your fingers intertwined with Ross’. He laid a gentle kiss on your knuckles and you put your other hand out the window, your hand slowly moving with the wind. You felt free, a feeling you haven’t felt in a while. It was nice to be back home in Santa Monica; it always feels like you never left California when you return.
“I was thinking we could have our picnic here.” Ross interrupted your thoughts, a cheeky smile appearing on his face.
You looked to the direction he was looking and that familiar emptiness returned in the pit of your stomach. Almost in a blink of an eye, you recognized the neighborhood that you were in. You hesitantly looked towards the other direction, seeing your old duplex apartment that you once shared. The thing that surprised you the most was the fact that a moving truck sat outside.
“So, what do you think?” Ross smiled, ready to pull into the lot.
“Ross, baby.” You quickly said, attempting to stop him. “Don’t get me wrong, it’s beautiful. It really is. However, do you think we could go some place else? It’s just, I’ve been here before.” You sighed, crossing your arms over your chest for comfort. “There’s way too many bugs.”
“Babe.” He chuckled, giving you a playful glare. “There are bugs at most parks. It’s apart of embracing nature.”
“I know but here it’s like they’re more attracted to you here. It’s not only the bugs but there’s also one too many kids.” You urged. “I want alone time with you.”
A low sigh left his lips and he nodded. “Fine. I know another place we could check out that’s not too far away.”
“Perfect.” You smiled.
He smiled and pulled out of the parking lot again. Your ears twitched when you heard a laugh through your open window. Turning your head away from Ross, you met those warm chocolate eyes you had been trying to avoid. His smile began to fall when his eyes met yours, his eyebrows furrowing. As the actress spoke to him, his eyes remained at the car that was beginning to drive away.
Your body flew back against the seat and you nervously laughed, patting Ross’ thigh. “You drive as slow as a turtle! I want to make it there today.”
He laughed at your actions and stepped on the gas, speeding his way out of the area. Your body turned towards the window again and you let out a shaky breath, preventing the tears from slipping your eyes.
He was moving to God knows where and didn’t dare to mention it to you. You didn’t blame him, though. He was happy in a new relationship, why would he ever think twice about going back to what you had? He didn’t owe you anything anymore. He moved on and you had to do the same.
♪ Thought I could pack up my suitcase and just walk away leave you with all the shit I didn’t want to take my mistake ♪
You looked around the front of the building as your anxiety roared within you. Tyler had texted you, after months of not speaking, asking you to pick up a couple boxes that you missed when you initially moved out. You were actually surprised he still had your number.
You slowly stepped up to the door and gently knocked, closing your eyes. If it were possible, you would’ve preferred for him to simply mail it you. However, he knew you were in town and it was easier for you to pick your things up. So, you had to face him and his glory. Your heart already ached and you hadn’t even faced him yet.
The door opened at the same moment as your eyes and you came face to face with the man your heart had been yearning for the past couple of months. Somehow, he looked a million times more handsome than the last time you two were together. He had a small amount of scruff growing in and his hair was a little longer, the fluffiness going in different directions. Although you were hurt, the pool was dripping between your thighs. It’s so wrong for me to feel this way.
“Hey.” He muttered while leaning against the door-frame. “Uh, come in.” His body moved to the side and the door opened wider, allowing you to slip in.
You silently made your way through the entrance and crossed your arms over your chest, something you did when you were nervous. He left the door opened and led you to the small living room.
“How are you?” He asked, glancing back at you.
You slowly nodded before speaking up, attempting to put on a show. “I’m great, how are you?”
“Never better.” He awkwardly answered, a silence beginning to grow.
You stood in front of him and adverted your gaze from his, your arms still crossed over your chest. He put his hands in his pockets and you glanced around the empty apartment, knowing it was something he did when he was nervous.
“I already packed everything of yours in these two boxes.” He pointed out. “It’s not much but then again, I don’t know what you consider valuable.”
“Yes, you do.” You unknowingly said. “You know almost everything about me... I appreciate you giving me a chance to pick them up, though.”
He slowly nodded and stared at you. “No problem.”
You pushed a piece of hair behind your ear, millions of thoughts running through your head. “How’s everything really going, Ty?” You muttered, actually curious to how he had been doing. You intended to not show any interest in him but this could be your last opportunity having a real conversation with him.
He gave you a weak smile and pulled his hands from his pockets, crossing them over his chest. “I meant it. Everything seems to be going really good so far.” He stated. “My new movie, Truth or Dare, was just released and it’s been doing well. Um...” Your eyes stared into his as you listened to what he had to say, bringing butterflies to his stomach. “I just finished my U.S. tour a couple day ago. We’re thinking of going to the U.K. and maybe pull off some shows out there.”
“That’s amazing.” You commented, a genuine grin coming to your lips. “I’m glad to know that your dreams are coming true.”
He silently nodded at you before asking a question that had been eating at him since you stepped through the door. “What about you? How’s your modeling going? I saw you on the cover of Vogue. Congratulations, you looked fucking awesome in New York.”
“I guess you can say that I hit my big break.” You said, bending down to pick one of the boxes up. He followed your actions and lifted the other, beginning to walk with you towards the door. “Thank you. It was such a life-changing experience and opened new doors for me. I was even able to sign my first contract with LV.”
“No fucking way.” He laughed, shining his white pearly teeth. “That’s impressive, butterfly.”
Your smile fell, hearing the nickname he had given you years ago. It was like a train was suddenly coming towards you and you couldn’t move. You pulled the door open and stepped out, knowing he didn’t notice your change in behavior. Somehow, you were learning to master the fake smiles.
“I may be stepping out of my boundaries.” He trailed off, the hesitation clear in his voice. “Any boyfriends?”
You shook your head softly and swallowed hard, trying to wet your dry throat. “You’re okay.” You whispered. “I’ve been seeing someone for a couple of weeks now. Our 3 month mark is coming up in a few days.”
It looked like for a split second, his eyes had fell with disappointment. Maybe you were reading into too much. He sat the box on the hood of your car as you opened the back seat, sliding both boxes in.
“I’m sorry.” You heard him mumble under his breath, your head turning to meet his eyes.
You looked down at the concrete, closing your eyes again to avoid the tears from escaping. The last thing you needed was for him to see you crying over him.
“Yeah.” You whispered. “Me too, Ty.”
“You have nothing to be sorry about.” He deadpanned. “I should’ve called when I got back. I didn’t keep any of the promises I made.”
“Tyler, stop.” You whispered, looking back up at him. “It’s fine. We’ve both moved on and have something going for ourselves. It’s more than we can say for when we were together.”
Silence seemed to be a common thing between you two seeing that it kept happening. He simply stared into your eyes, seeking the hope he wanted when he originally texted you. Unfortunately, he wasn’t able to read you like he once did. You gave him a weak smile before opening the driver’s door, keeping your eyes on him.
“Maybe in ten years we’ll meet again and you’ll be telling me about your five different children.” You joked. “I wish you nothing but the best with everything. You know that.”
“You know I want nothing but the same for you, Y/N.”
“Good. We’re on the same page.” You nodded. Were you?
“I’m glad.” He whispered, beginning to back away from the car. “I’ll see you, Butterfly.”
“I’ll see you, Ty.” You responded. You took a mental image in your head, remembering what might be your final true love. Neither of you smiled, obviously not wanting to part. You knew what was best for the both of you as did he, and you made the mutual decision to leave again.
You shut the car door once you were seated and pulled out his driveway, avoiding the thought of turning around and running into his arms. Although it’s what you wanted, you knew it couldn’t happen.

Your body pressed against the soft fabric and the blanket was gently placed over your chest, covering your naked body. Your chest heaved up and down as you tried to catch your breath, Ross doing the same thing beside you.

Instead of answering him, you stayed silent. His body turned away from you, setting himself in a comfortable position to rest.
“Goodnight, Y/N.” He said, slowly drifting away into a deep sleep.
You glanced over at the man before slipping out of bed, sliding on your slippers. You picked up the robe that hung from your closet door and placed it on your body, tying a knot to keep it secure.
Your muscles ached from the rough sex Ross managed to pull off. It bothered you that your first time with him wasn’t full of love, but instead it was rough and almost cold. If you were being honest with yourself, you hated every minute of it.
The floor creaked as you walked across it, walking into your personal bathroom. You gently closed the door and clicked the lock, leaning over the sink. Your eyes closed as you listened to the water pour from the faucet while old memories flooding your head. After seeing Tyler on his moving day, he was all that you were able to think about. You could be doing the most simple things yet somehow, your mind would associate him with the task. In this moment in particular, all you could think about your life with Tyler. Sex with him wasn’t just sex. He made love to you in a way that left his touch lingering for days. You would love every second of it. Whether it was the safe feeling you felt with Tyler or the overwhelming amount of love you shared, sex with Ross wasn’t no where near the same. It didn’t feel like love.

Josh threw a fry at you, laughing at your seriousness. “Y/N, you’re no where near as drunk as us.”
You smiled at took a sip of your favorite flavored milkshake, shrugging your shoulders lightly. The five of you were gathered around in a small booth at a local 24 hour diner. So far, you had finally remembered everyone’s names. There was Jenny the Techy, who was completely obsessive over computer science. She was majoring in it to become some type of software developer. Beside her was the guy they called Alexander the Great, mostly being known for his insane skateboard tricks. He was also the one who tended to take the most risks, probably carrying over a thousand DUIs. Finally, the J power couple: Joshua and Jean. Josh was in school to be a detective, wanting nothing more than to solve his father’s murder. Although he explained his dark side to you, he was one of the most energetic people you had ever met. His humor was dark but in a good way. Another thing about him was that he was completely absorbed around Jean. Jean was the Daphne Blake of the group with her girly and outgoing personality. She obviously came from a higher class but honestly, she seemed extremely humble.
Finally, there was Ross. He was the softest blonde in existence. His heart was more than a sweetheart, which is probably what attracted you. He had a little piece of everyone in the group except it turned into one loving person. They were all different in their own way but you loved the diversity. Maybe this wasn’t going to be too terrible after all.
After splitting the bill, you watched as they stumbled out the diner. Ross was balancing his weight on the balls on his feet while keeping an arm around your shoulders, just in case. You laughed when Alex ran in the middle of the road, flicking off the cars that honked at him. Somehow, you all managed to make it across the street without getting ran over.
Alex passed around a bottle before pulling out his phone. “We need some music... and a pack of smokes.”
Everyone cheered in agreement until the music began playing. Your eyes turned back towards the diner, noticing the print that was planted on the sign. It was an outline of a butterfly. Your eyebrows furrowed when you snapped back to reality, realizing the song that was playing. That familiar voice was blasting from the small speaker and that feeling returned. The feeling that you were missing something.
Your mind drifted away when your eyes met the butterfly again, picturing the Hispanic man. The two of you would always sneak away to diners late at night after you were with friends, taking the chance to have your deep talks. You would have a novel if you listed the different topics the two of you talked about, it was an endless amount of stories when you two were together. He would tell you everything from his childhood to his favorite TV shows and you would do the same with him. You lifted your fingers to your lips, remembering how he pressed his lips against yours for the first time. It was after your first date at a diner and he was dropping you off at home. You had shared a shake and spoke for hours, similar to tonight.
“Babe.” Ross called, causing you to snap your head towards him. “Let’s catch an Uber back to my place. I’m exhausted.”

“Ross.” You muttered, shaking your head lightly at him. “That’s not true. I thought we were happy.”
“Come on, Y/N. Even you know that’s not true.” He disagreed. “I don’t think we’ve been happy since this relationship started. We both have a little growing to do still, especially since our last relationships.”

You slowly nodded, suddenly feeling the butterflies in your stomach. He needed to tell you. “Are you okay?” You asked him, the concern in your eyes.
“Yeah, I am.” He nodded back. “It was a while ago, um...” He walked into the bathroom and removed his damp shirt. “She thought I wasn’t ready for a relationship.”
You furrowed your eyebrows and followed him into the bathroom, watching his face through the mirror. Your sleeves passed your hands and your arms crossed over your chest. “How come?”
“Because” He stopped his actions, staring straight into your eyes from the mirror.
“I can’t stop thinking about you.”
His body turned to face you, seeing your stunned reaction. He was going through everything you had been experiencing, maybe even worse. His girlfriend noticed long before Ross did. Your eyes searched his, seeing the pain hidden behind them. He glanced at your lips and you gulped, your body begin to crave him.
You launched yourself into his arms, your lips crashing into his pink ones. He immediately reacted by moving his against yours into a passionate kiss, his hands sneaking around your body. Just like that, that emptiness vanished.

He gently laid your body flat on the bed and you pulled him down, meeting his warm lips again. You shared a fiery kiss and mewled at the way he caressed your thighs. Neither of you cared at how your noses bumped and teeth continuously clashed, you just wanted him. His kisses were beginning to trail down your body and you arched your back into his chest.
The two of you had gone too long without each other, you were starving for his touch. The feeling was mutual but he wasn’t going to rush it, knowing you had all night. In fact, he knew the two of you had the rest of his lives for this. He wasn’t planning on ever leaving you again.
“Ty.” You mewled into his ear, your legs tightening around his body. “Please.”
He smiled against your stomach and continued his actions, granting your wishes.

It was everything you needed and more. The passion was coiling in your stomach and you moaned at the familiar feeling that only he gave you.
“Tyler.” You blurted out, your hands tangling in his hair.
“Go ahead, butterfly.” He answered, enveloping your lips into another kiss. “Let go.”
And so you did.
