#Two cups of coffee

yknow, science and art are always dancing around each other, forever drawn close. if you study science long enough you find that everything is a work of art, from the even lattices of table salt to the patterns of H2O molecules as water freezes to ice. if you're an artist, you are forever inspired by the world outside and the one within your head. if you want to make a realistic paper flower, you are inevitably going to learn about the anatomy of the flower, the positioning of the pistil and the stamen. as you draw, you engage your memory and imagination and translate it to motor movements. as you write, you practice language processing and communication. everything is art and everything is science.

"Do you want to have a cup of coffee with me?"

I glance at the clock

Its almost 9pm

"Yeah, sure"

We make our coffee and sit down

Yours is filled with cream and sugar

You try to sweeten your situation

Rachel exited Castle Cafe looking rather distressed. Her eyebrows were knit together as if she had just come to some deep, terrible realization that something wasn’t right.

She held two take-away cups in her hands, each filled with a different syrupy sweet, piping hot coffee.

“Why did I do that?” Rachel muttered to herself with a shake of her head. Sighing pointedly at the two cups, she slumped back against the wall by the door. Her day had been stressful; her parents, loving as they were, were having a hard time with a particular part of Rachel’s trauma (as was Rachel). The poor girl was agitated beyond belief, and had tried to rid the feeling of being trapped with a walk. It wasn’t working so far, and it all culminated in the current coffee shop incident.

Rachel had stood near the back of the queue for ten minutes, fighting with herself over which coffee to buy. Vanilla? Or Caramel? Vanilla or Caramel? People were looking at her funny, and she had already sent three people to go in front of. The barista wasn’t much help in the decision making process either.

So now she was stuck with two cups of coffee.

“What is wrong with me? I can’t drink this much coffee, this could kill me! And I can’t just… give it back, because that lovely man worked so hard to make it. And then if I did, how would I choose which one to give back? Would he be mad? Oh! He would be so upset that I didn’t like his coffee!”

“Are you alright?” Ella asked with the greatest concern. The girl looked like she was in quite an ordeal. She didn’t hear what she was saying, but it was clear to her that she wasn’t feeling too well.

“Is there anything I can do for you?” Was she perhaps suffering a panic attack? It was then she heard her say something about the cups of coffee in her hands.

“Hmm? Is something wrong with your order?

i think L should've tried harder to piss light off. provoking light into slipping up would not only be hilarious i also think it would be extremely easy and effective. not saying you could get light to actually confess this way, but he would definitely make more dumb mistakes if, for example, L kept interrupting their homoerotic brain chess matches to insist that kira is actually matsuda because the butts match

thinking about suguru geto (as one does) and how he literally haunts the narrative of jjk…. how he’s there from the very beginning even though it’s not Him, but also how he basically lives through gojo. how gojo saves a doomed boy with noble ideals and tells him that he likes people like him. how his decision to become a teacher hinges almost entirely on geto leaving. how we meet geto in jjk 0 but none of the students have any idea that the man they’re fighting is the only person their teacher ever bared his heart to. how shoko and gojo are just living their lives with geto’s absence hanging over them but no one knows it. he haunts the narrative figuratively and literally and it’s so heartbreaking and sinister i’m completely normal about him btw
