hmm ... would it cross boundaries if i raise up the idea of transfem jon doe? if so then like genuinely sorry. i just had the idea spring up when i was looking through your art of jon lol

finally getting to this ask. Okay. Unfortunately, yes, it would cross boundaries if you headcanon Jon as transfem. I do wanna preface that I think transfem headcanons are fine and fun but I usually have an issue with them when they go against a character’s story and/or take representation from other places. A part of Jon’s storyline is actually about unlearning the views of toxic masculinity he was raised under. That there’s no right or wrong way to be a man and he doesn’t have to exist under these made up standards. And I feel headcanoning him as transfem takes away from that because the answer for Jon is that these gender norms are made up and shouldn’t matter. He is a guy who is very emotional and caring and likes things people might deem as “feminine” but that doesn’t make him any less of a man. Jon Doe is Jon Doe…
