Another star to add to the 16th Striker Cluster of Clan Jade Falcon's Omega Galaxy. Brings the total to 25 JF mechs, so about half a cluster. I don't have a problem.
#battletech#jade falcon#the Turkina is a ugly dumpling and I love it.#next up is more Canopus and mercs#I don't have a problem.

First time getting the lightbox out in a while.
This one combined a lot of techniques that are new to me. The glow on the crystal was the most difficult. Fortunately my fellow BattleTech fans helped walk me through the process, for which I am very grateful lol.
The bird on the back was hand painted, and yeah it made me sweat. It was so intimidating! I can see why some painters really don't like this scheme.
This may be the best mini I've painted so far. And the Turkina was a joy to paint.

my first in-person game of BattleTech went well, in terms of fun
in terms of my actual playing...eh? I deliberately went in with a sub-par 'Mech, used questionable tactics because they were fun, and I scratched the paint on the "final raid boss" ED-209 Turkina with a store-provided Hatchetman's axe, so whatever, man

My sister and I played our first team game against a father/son duo at our friendly local game store. Went super well, pretty sure we made some friends that day. The father made all of the stellar terrain we played on, it was super inspiring to scratch build my own stuff.
So about the game, we played 600pv per side KING OF THE HILL match. The enemy team was an even split between the two players in points and mech force. Meaning they both played a lance and a star with the same amount of heavy, med, and light mechs. All of their mechs are of more subdued/military drabs aside from the handful of Marik Militia the son played. My sister and I hit 600pv exactly with me playing 3 lances of light mechs with on Spartan as my only heavy, putting me at 273. She however, played 6 big mechs with a turkina, Longbow, and nightstar all at skill 3. She decimated their lighter mechs with indirect fire as she approached as I used my Spartan's TAG and my Trebuchet's NARC. We took it due to speed and sheer numbers in the first half, but lost our footing and were ultimately outlasted as they captured the point limit on the Hill. Absolutely stellar game and great company. R.I.P. the Longbow splashing in the water overheating for 8 damage per hit. You will be missed, even though you never did lol.

Lads out to play some battletech today. Clan Ghost Bear command star plus some toady friends and a museum piece take on Jade Falcon. We were playing Wolfnet 350 Alpha Strike games- first a king of the hill game mode, then a territory domination mission.
The first game was an argument of speed onto the point vs tonnage in total, with my team moderately fast thicc boys winning the day. It turns out black knights have a lot of armor for their points and summoners and executioners are tankier than their XL engines give them credit for with their TMMs
Second game I decided to do something funky and bring my battle armor to make taking and holding objectives a nightmare. In the process I discovered just how much I like the Viper- my opponent brought a Marauder IIC and a Turkina and my speed meant that they simply couldn't penetrate deep enough into the survivability onion to threaten it consistently. I kinda misplayed one of my BA points but overall my plan of guarding my home objectives and then assaulting forward worked well and I won 3-2 when we timed out.
Because I was such a good mechwarrior I decided I needed a treat so I got a salvage box- Fire Falcon's a really not bad pickup from that!
