From Dabangg to Tiger 3: Salman Khan's solo releases continues at the box office from last 14 years

October 25, 2023 Salman Khan is undeniably the biggest crowd-puller in Indian cinema. The superstar of the nation, Ho, strikes a marvelous chord with the Wanted, followed by Dabangg, the movie star of the nation, who has consecutively delivered back-to-back 100 cr, 200 cr, and 300 cr films at the ticket window. While his films hold a stature at the box office and have made several records, audiences flock to theaters to watch his films. The superstardom of Salman Khan goes beyond box office. While Indian cinema has many stars and superstars, Salman is one of the biggest stars who has never faced a clash at the box office.

Salman Khan has had a total of 16 films released in the 14 years since Dabangg 1 in 2010, which include Bodyguard, Ek Tha Tiger, Dabangg 2, Jai Ho, Kick, Bajrangi Bhaijaan, Prem Ratan Dhan Paayo, Sultan, Tubelight, Tiger Zinda Hai, Race 3, Bharat, Dabangg 3, and Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan. All of the above-mentioned films had solo releases at the box office. While several films were announced to be released alongside Prem Ratan Dhan Paayo, Sultan, and Tiger Zinda Hai, considering the hype and the anticipation surrounding the film, the films announced to clash got postponed.

Coming soon to release the hugely awaited action thriller Tiger 3, the film is releasing solo on the Diwali festival, and several small and big films averted the clash with the film. The prior reason for this is Salman’s box office pull, and irrespective of the performance of the film, his films are always celebrated by the fans and the audiences, and they always look forward to watching his charismatic screen presence and his larger-than-life persona.

Meanwhile, Salman Khan is gearing up for the release of the hugely anticipated Tiger 3, co-starring Katrina Kaif, Emraan Hashmi, and Riddhi Dogra. Tubelight has been part of our lives since 1940 and not only ruled our homes before the 90s, but it was an acceptable term in our language to define slow processing. (Sallu Bhai even made a movie). While the incandescent bulb was Rs10, the Tubelight commanded a 10X price with much longer life. The white underline was the signature of progress and even affluence. As a child, I was fascinated by the concept of the Tubelight. It had a metal strip base and a pair of folding plastic holders at each end. One had to adjust the slots before carefully inserting the twin pins at each end of a glass tube. As trouble-shooting, we would rotate the tube back and forth till it stopped flickering and happy bright again. The ballast, which we called "Choke", was an essential black box or reactor of the Tubelight, along with a round cylinder called "Starter". The base of the tube light was home to lizards, and watching how it would catch insects (free Nat Geo Channel those days) was scary. Finally, when the flickering old tube light reached the end of its life (it used to turn black at the ends), it became a desi lightsaber and breaking it (when parents left for the office) would create 'Phat' sound as Argon gas would discharge. The LED introduction in 2000 slowly led to the transformation of tube lights from complex ecosystems to simple tubes. However, the tube light design has not changed much since 1940. It was fascinating and challenging when Havells invited us to change the status quo. We not only created new age wall sculptures but also elegantly captured user aspiration on having mood lighting along with functional lighting of the tube light. He is an awesome dude. He is one of the coolest guys to be with. He is so welcoming, supportive and chilled out. His presence itself is overwhelming and you tend to do much more than you are capable of, especially when he is on screen. He is a huge figure of support and I am really blessed to have been a part of all these awesome movies that he made.

Does Salman ever participate or give his opinions and suggestions when it comes to the music of the film.

Not really. He actually lets everybody have their hand on it. Being professionals, he is appreciative of people who are in charge of their departments and they will do their best and he respects that. I appreciate that. Yet sometimes, in the beginning, during ‘Ek Tha Tiger’, when the theme was being made, he suggested how the theme should be. He did have some suggestions and his suggestions were very potent and valuable. They definitely helped in the creation of the theme. excerpt from article

We walk past a bakery in the downtown alley. People working to stack starch and flour to get ingredients ready for the morning rush. They work just with a tubelight on. They were stacking sugar it was all up in the air, your face illuminated by the light I lock you with both of my hands beside your face. You blush, shy conquers your face. The pink hue on the tip of your nose, and cheek and the sugar storm. Is this heaven? What did I do so kind, so gracious to be blessed with this overwhelming and wholesome moment. The colors of pink on your face, the sugar white illuminated in the light. Let's not forget my shadow on your face, I've never liked the shadow's dark so much as it is now. I kiss your fore head. Adding an additional chunk to the amusement of its audiences, Zee5 has recently released the trailer of its much-anticipated web series'Naxalbari'.  Months before, the manufacturers of this series have declared the movie but on account of this coronavirus pandemic, the launch got delayed.  The series is scheduled to launch on November 28.  The movie includes Rajeev Khandelwal as STF representative Raghav from the lead character.  The storyline of this movie revolves around the government's and Naxalites' struggles.

The trailer of this series seems promising and It'll be interesting to see these celebrities together in But not too many folks saw Sameer, where Ayyub's personality infiltrates a suspected Islamic terrorist business.  The film was badly dispersed also, Ayyub pointed out.

"I understood it was a severe political movie not very likely to make the audience go crazy," he remembered.  "Along with also the question of feeling awful does not arise as it did not even get a proper release" Ayyub's most up-to-date job has fared considerably better.   As Manish, a loser who isn't simply confused for a contract killer but also bungles his very first mission, Ayyub shows the complete selection of his acting ability.

Manish is"a jumpy personality whose mindset changes with each scene," Ayyub observed.  "There are colors to his personality chart.  It is not something I'd played , which got me excited." ... Saddled with personality roles for many years, Ayyub has mastered the ability to be noticed.   Ayyub memorably played with a character modelled on Manu Sharma, who had been detained for murdering model Jessica Lal at Delhi in 1999.

Ayyub returned in Rai's Tanu Weds Manu Returns because the protagonist's most wily admirer. Ayyub had earned the right to be cast as the leading man's crucial sidekick -- an honor usually relied on trained professionals never known to possess the celebrity value required to take a job.  He infused his characters with sufficient detailing to make a line or 2 in testimonials.

"There was a present in him passed me through.  Seeing him so spent in his job made me decide not to stop and keep functioning, make good decisions, say no to that which I do not like."

Raees has been followed closely by Kabir Khan's war play Tubelight, where Ayyub got to bully the protagonist played by Salman Khan.  Sameer arrived and moved in a jiffy.  2018 saw the launch of this mega-budget duds Thugs of Hindostan and Zero, where Ayyub was again the number-one buddy to Aamir Khan and Shah Rukh Khan respectively.

Ayyub was cast as Nishad, who's much like the real life activists who've inspired Ayyub because his theater days in Delhi at the 2000s.  Produced in Delhi to theater artists, 37-year-old Ayyub graduated from the National School of Drama at 2006 and functioned together with the Leftist theater group Jana Natya Manch, Amongst Others.

Ayyub would really like to play with a few modern-day revolutionaries.  If anyone is thinking about a biopic about the student chief Chandrashekhar Prasad, who had been murdered allegedly on the orders of Bihar strongman Mohammad Shahabuddin in 1997, Ayyub is the guy.

Ayyub will jump at the chance to depict Hashmi, who had been fatally injured by Congress-led goons at 1989.

Ayyub would also like to play with a person"whose politics I do not know, like Sanjay Gandhi".  Ayyub is awaiting a feature version of Dharamvir Bharti's seminal novel Gunahon Ka Devta, about an idealistic student's connection with his upper-caste professor's kid.

Contrary to other celebrities, Ayyub was forthright in expressing his political beliefs, particularly when the Bharatiya Janata Party-led authorities rolled from the Citizenship Amendment Act and National Register of Citizens.

Like his Raanjhanaa co-star Swara Bhasker, Ayyub has not hesitated to speak his thoughts on policies which are famous for targeting and disenfranchising Muslims in India.

Ayyub has been a highly visible presence at protests at Delhi, Mumbai, and Kolkata.  He celebrated December 31, 2019, together with the protesters in Shaheen Bagh in Delhi.
