gelatin powder is made of finely ground animal bones. ghouls could grind up human bones like this, and make jello. though, i don't know how they'd flavor it bc flavorless gelatin is, yknow, flavorless. perhaps with blood? would give it a red color like cherry or strawberry jello too. i think that maybe this is something that could be helpful to half-ghouls who are struggling with the transition to ghoulhood :•) cuz it could very closely resemble the human food!

ohhh they could also make coffee flavored jello as well!! that might be even tastier, and would be even more close to a human equivalent. i was always so sad that ghouls didn't have any real desserts they could partake in, bc desserts are my favorite kind of food, but they could have coffee jelly made from the human gelatin!!! yayyy!!!

this entire premise is a little bit silly, but something even sillier that i like to imagine, is ghouls in a (ghoul) hospital being given jello hahaha.

i can also imagine shuu eating something akin to those crazy gelatin dishes from 1950s era america. blood gelatin with eyeballs inside it or something. he's a very adventurous eater!

•Kaneki half-heartedly volunteers to go up the ladder instead, and is relieved when you insist that he holds it. He's trustworthy and steady, but does tend to be distracting with his "*gasp*", "Careful!", "Woah there!".

8/10.

•Another solid choice is Irimi, plus if you fuck up she has the reflexes to catch you. Taking a point off because she's impatient and will complain about wasting her time.

•idk why you chose Shirazu out of all the chateau inhabitants to hold the ladder, but it's your life. He'll casually lean against ONE side of the rung so the ladder starts tilting because he forgets things like this. He corrects it though so that's something. He gets a couple of points because he doesn't actually want you to die. Probably on his phone the whole time too.

•Yomo is another dubious choice. I mean, he'd probably go up instead, but you never know. I'm thinking about the time where he "accidentally" let Ken fall through the rusted barrier and plummet towards earth without making any attempt to help him. I'm biased towards him though so I'll give him a couple of points.

•If I had to choose one person to hold the ladder for me, hands down it would be Amon. He would make sure the ladder is safe and up to regulation standards, he'd make sure the wall is...secure(? Idk), he would WATCH YOU. He'd do all these things, but instead he would go and do the thing up the ladder instead because he's a True Gentleman.

•Now this depends on her relationship with you, but Eto, in general, comes with a Caution. If the two of you are good, she's going to make sure you don't fall off the ladder. Maybe. If she's playful and thinks you won't be too pissed, she's going to shake the ladder. If she doesn't like you, she may remove the ladder when you're up on the roof or whatever. Idk man, it's your choice ☠️

•Uta is actually a good choice. Watches your ass as you ascend, but isn't so distracted that he forgets you're climbing up the side of a building. MAY pull an Eto and give it a wobble, but has the grace to do it when you're a couple of rungs from the bottom.

• Arima is decent, but not necessarily because he's concerned with your well-being, more that he has things to do.

•Hide is slightly in the Shirazu orbit. He's invested in your welfare, but can be a bit...daft. You're probably safe, providing there are no major distractions.

•I can't see her messing around, but I can imagine Touka getting very impatient at having to hold a ladder. She's going to be vocal about it, and if you slip and she has to catch you, she'll be pissed.

At first Tsukiyama tried to eat Kaneki but he soon became really dedicated to him and eventually developed something like a crush on him, and when Kaneki disappeared Tsukiyama went into a deep depression that left him bedridden for years and only got better when he learned Kaneki was still alive. •Nishiki is a "I don't read books because I have to read lots already for university 😒" fella. He sneers at fiction.

•Of course Rize is on the list! Her taste is diverse, and having a keen mind and a lot of curiosity, she is going to read Most Genre's, with the exception of graphic novels. She isn't going to lend you a book though. Buy your own.

•Akira is a tricky one. I think she'd read more books if she had the time. Has a tbr list as long as her arm. Very picky with fiction. Has a general knowledge of many books.

You're welcome.)

Go to him for: free books, translated literature, classics, horror, contemporary, social commentary, poetry, science fiction, basically anything except romantasy. Do not get him started on that.

•Of course Kaneki is on the list! This is self-explanatory. What I will say about him, is he is hesitant to lend out books for two very important reasons: 1). They are incredibly precious to him. 2). He annotates them, so it's kinda like reading his diary. Aww. He'll probably buy you a copy if you're that keen.

Go to him for: anything, you can't go wrong. Go to him and ask for book recs even if you don't need them; it's worth it to watch him come to life and talk about something he truly loves.
