Power Rangers Dino Thunder: A New Storm Preview

(I am currently working on a AU retelling of Dino Thunder fanfiction with some altered details and some events switched around and some original ideas spread in. The biggest of which being having Jason returning as the mentor and black ranger instead of Tommy. As well as, the identity of Zeltrax which I will not spoil here. Summary: After years retired from his duties as a ranger, Jason Lee Scott and Anton Mercer's research team had attempted to study genetics to move humanity to the next stage. But things went wrong and their research and lab were destroyed. Now, he finds himself in Reefside High School as a science professor. One day, he is entrusted with three students in detention; popular soccer player Conner McKnight, computer geek Ethan James, and aspiring musician Kira Ford. Mysterious circumstances lead to them finding powerful stones known as the dino gems and together, the three are chosen to defeat a mutant monster known as Mesogog and his minions who wants to eradicate all life on Earth. Together, they are the Power Dino Thunder.

Tricera zord bringing a broken laptop he found which ollie thinks he needs for fixing???? And Javi being upset that his zord doesn’t bring him random metal things????

An idea for zords I have is: What if Zords could reformat?

I headcanon reformation of any Zord that is technological or techno-organic reformatting into a new design yet still being what it was prior.

A zord reformat is triggered by cosmetics, extreme damage, or having a completely new ranger. For example, in Dino Fury, the Tricera, Ankylo, Tiger, and Stego zords would’ve reformatted due to having new rangers.

Oh I love this! DF really did show off some cool combinations that I'd love to see later on th the franchise even in Super Sentai.

Unrelated but the only thing I didn't really appreciate about DF was how the Tyrannosaurus Zord took up most of the formation, not too much of a pet peeve but I love when a megazord has more add one instead of red taking up all the space.

But back to your ask oh definitely, plus this could go into some headcanons about the variations a ranger has altering other powers. Like if a black ranger had a serpent but the blue ranger turned it into a dragon or coiled shell of sorts. It gives me Voltron vibes with how they can change the base of their mech(I need to rewatch the nicktoons show from years ago but I remember Yellow center wss my favorite with the wrecking balls and space fighting)

Oh and also more sentient zords and ones that are like Mystic Force and Jungle Fury where they are either from within the rangers or themselves in order to save them more organic.
