This might come to noone's surprise, since Daera's name is also the name of a plant but with an 'ae' slapped in there, but one of her hobbies is botany.

She has spent much time of her childhood exploring the Red Keep, its secret passages and little forgotten gardens and found a love for identifying the various plants that have thrived there. When she was young and her father and grandparents were still alive that was restricted to flowers because obviously their precious little girl would like the pretty, colorful flowers right? But actually Hedaera also has a thriving interest in the less savory - aka poisonous - flora. She keeps that interest to herself, knowing that it would ruffle some feathers and raise some eyebrows.
