Super Zeroes - Floras
The final hero of the main cast, and by far one of the nicest!
Floras is a dryad, a sort of woodland spirit that is one with nature, particularly plant life, which she can summon on a whim. Bubbly, motherly, and idealistic, she would jump at an opportunity to help anyone, regardless of whether they wanted it or not. Like her roommate Chiton Eye, she does her best to support Flying Brick and be her friend. But, in her words, her “best bestie” friend is Aegis, her complete ironic foil. There’s clearly an attraction between the two, but neither would care to admit it. As for Dark Cowl…well, she TRIES to be patient with him, but let’s see how long that lasts.

One fine Sunday morning, SMA landscape intern Jade and SMA architect Jeenus headed out to Shanta Bhawan park to present the findings and recommendations of the ecological survey.
Based on three visits and subsequent research, SB community members Abhinash and Mr. Krishna got lots of botanical info about the trees, ferns and plants which will be shared with the 90 community members and their kids around the petite park in Sanepa.
Next was our own internal ICIMOD hq & Godavari visit . Jade’s interpretation of a variety of natural elements was a nice climax for us of the months she had joined us. We grew more interested in flora. Our second collaboration with a French landscape architect ( Marie was the first) turned out to be fruitful again for both parties!

I'm reading about how Israel, in the immediate aftermath of the 1948 Nakba, deliberately replaced olive trees and other indigenous flora with European plants. This ecological disaster, which is now proudly hailed under the banner of 'making the desert bloom,' was done to 'de-Arabize' the landscape, and to cover up - often with fast-growing European pine trees -the ruins of Palestinian villages that were destroyed by Zionists forces.
And I just need everyone to read this passage from Pappé, because the symbolism of what happened to those European pine trees in the desert speaks for itself:
