Naherhard ❤️✨
This is an edit of my oc x Canon. This is Naty, she is 21 years old and I ship her with Erhard.
Naty is Latina, specifically Venezuelan 🇻🇪❤️✨
She is a child prodigy, graduating from college at age 11 and starting work at age 13 as a cardiac surgeon.
(To prevent confusions: Naty in the Trauma Team plot is 16 years old, but she and Erhard fall in love when Naty is 19 years old. She then marries him at 21 years old).

One of the most underrated game series out there, I played trauma center allll the time as a kid! I started with Under the Knife 2 but as I got deeper into the series I fell more and more in love with the characters, the plotlines, and the atmosphere. The mechanics of the game were super cool, being able to use the DS stylus and/or wiimote to operate on patients and save their lives was both parts nerve wracking and satisfying. While the gameplay was fun and engaging, they were simply a means to an end, as the story was the real attraction for many fans including myself! Who could forget the sinister Adam and his terrible manmade disease GUILT? Or his great grandson and neo-GUILT? Stigma from New Blood was also a huge problem, but aside from the diseases, the characters were simply amazing. Most of the games follow Dr. Derek Stiles, and Nurse Angie Thompson. Two characters that go through the wringer together yet never seem to waver in their cause: saving the lives of many. Games such as New Blood introduce new characters such as Markus Vaughn and Valerie Blaylock, but the overarching theme remains. If I were to choose a favorite game, it would easily be Trauma Team. Trauma Team is by far the most complex of the games, both in story and gameplay. It follows 6 different characters, each experts in their fields, and offer 6 different ways to play the game. Each has their own storyline that eventually combines with other characters until they’re all working together on the same case. Gameplay ranges from standard trauma surgery, to first response work, to endoscopy, to diagnostics and forensics. There is so much packed into this game that it can entertain its player for hours and hours on end. I think this is the Trauma Series at its finest, and is a hallmark in medical related media, especially any medical games. If a game developer wants to release a game pertaining to hospital life and culture, these games are most definitely the template. Trauma Center offers an exaggerated, sometimes mythical, medical experience to players, but there are several moments where the medical jargon, OR prep, and post operation procedures are fairly accurate. In missions where you’re not battling a mutated, sentient disease, your doing routine operations like setting a man’s leg back in place, treating a burn victim, or even restarting a heart. Underneath the many sensationalized moments and the larger than life plot threads, there lies a game that takes genuine care in the world its emulating, and takes its time to be accurate when it can be.

Well my orientation has been totally screwed. The drop in cases has forced my work place to relook at scheduling. Cost efficient. I was paired up with preceptors to follow on their schedules. At first I was only promised one shift a week, but I’m working three now. This is about where I wanted to be anyway. They expected me to be out of orientation around July, but now we aren’t even sure if that would happen. As comfortable as I am doing simple cases (cystoscopes, Lap appt/chole), I could in no way navigate a big case on my own. I figured at some point I would have to face my fears and dive head first, just didn’t think it would be so soon.
On a high note-
I’ve been able to witness my first full CABG and two redo. I was also involved in my first Trauma case. I absolutely love both.
I have to work up my hard-ass again. I was known for taking no shit on the Tele Floor. Now, I’m back to my meek self. I learned quickly that you need even tougher backbone in the OR than you do in the floors. Doctors call you incompetent more. Doctors also befriend you more. Time for me to just figure out how to read these docs and learn to snap back again.
Here’s to new times and tougher skin.

The First Cut is the Deepest
{that’s how the song goes, right?}
Do you remember the first time you were traumatized by your career?
I was two weeks into my new job in the ER. I went through all of my orientations, paperwork, and worked a week on day shift.
Here I was on nights.
As a new employee our checkoffs include observing a few Trauma Reds and being the nosey person I am, I was allll for running to that GSW to the head that was an ETA of 5 min.
I remember walking out of the double doors into the main ambulance hallway. Nurses in blue gowns and lead vests filled the hall, trauma surgery walked to the bays chatting about their weekend plans, and security blocked the door headed to the lobby to ensure other patients didn’t step in the way of the speeding stretcher.
It was all happening so fast to me, but to them it was just another night.
EMS busted through the doors, like a movie, doing compressions as they walked back to the trauma bay.
GSW to the head.
Blood trailing behind them.
Me trailing behind them.
I will never forget the way it looked.
With each compression, brain matter spewing from the head onto the stretcher.
I grabbed towels as the hallway cleared, trying to calmly page the cleaning crew with a mop.
Just then, I turned around and saw a girl pushing a man on a wheelchair, staring at me and at the scene as I looked at the floor in disbelief.
What have I gotten myself into.
Here I am, almost 2 years later, still reliving the first trauma I had ever witnessed. Though now, I am the person in the blue gown and lead vest. Now, I am the person doing compressions. Now, it’s just another night.
