odazai - weird. i stay away from ppl who ship them mostly. after reading the day i picked up dazai it's impossible to not see them as father/son... oda was like 23?? when he rescued dazai who was 15, and oda calls him "kid" all the time. do not like that age gap! and in general they just don't work as romantic partners. oda is too influential and dear to be a romantic interest to a sleazy womanizer like dazai

dazutshi - gonna be so honest if u ship this just back off now 😭😭 i am especially passionate about my dislike for this ship compared to others. not only is dazai literally atsushi's savior and mentor, but atsushi looks up to him an INSANE amount and trusts dazai completely blindly regardless of circumstance. that does NOT create a healthy romantic dynamic ;; and it's very clear dazai sees him as an apprentice, someone to teach and guide, the same way akutagawa was-- this ship rlly baffles me bc i just don't know HOW people gather anything romantic from them.

dazaku - does this shit actually exist?? i've only ever seen this in ao3 tags on borderline criminal gr4pe f3tish fanfics i've been vehemently warned not to read

When I was 17 me and my father got this really bad flu. And both of us having immune systems with the strength of an unborn fetus, we both literally almost died. My father was coughing up blood and I was reaching fevers of 105-106. To this day my brother is convinced we had Covid even though it was a few months before Covid officially hit America. So for now we will just say it was a really bad flu. And during this flu was the first time i ever experienced a real and true "fever dream". Something up till that moment I had only thought was a term to describe something out of wack and surreal. Also during this time, I was really into Jackcepticeye and specifically his subnautica series. It was all I was watching.

And during this dream, that neared honestly closer to straight up hallucination rather than dream. I was in the world of subnautica, at the furthest depths you can reach in the game, in complete and utter darkness, oxygen was running dangerously low, my cyclops and seamoth, were thousands of kms away on opposite sides of the map, and a leviathan was circling me. And I didn't know if it was aware of me and choosing not to attack. Or unaware and seconds from discovering me.

And I know how this sounds. A relatively b-rated movie filled with clichés. But I- 17. flu stricken. And fully convinced this was real. It was the most terrifying thing in my life. Knowing I was going to die, ether from suffocating, or being attacked by a monstrosity at the furthest depths of the ocean. With no hope of ever being found.

Anyways. Fever dreams are real and can be funny. But also can be terrifying and signify your body is so hot it's frying your brain. And now I have a memory scorched into my brain of being stuck at the bottom of the ocean, Even though I've never gone further out than waist deep at the beach.

this is another thing that won't be set in stone until i fic it, if i fic it properly, but:

i think Probably he won't be able to conceptualize it as kindness for the sake of kindness. not at first, anyway. he's like okay, best case scenario, you've been kind to me because it helps you politically and you don't want to alienate luz. WORST case scenario, you thought i was going two for two on torturing your daughters and wanted me to like you so luz wouldn't get hurt.

and also i think there's an element of simply.... why WOULDN'T you hate me. what is wrong with you that you don't hate me. you SHOULD hate me

hunter has already reacted sensitively to vee's existence in the fic canon without even knowing anything about her - first being hurt that luz may have kept An Entire Sister from him (and relieved she didn't), and then being angry with camila for leaving vee behind:

What's your take on Shigahauldabi/shigadabihaul?

I don't like Overhaul, and I think any ship with him and Dabi is a crack pairing since the only time they met was when Dabi was watching his arms get torn off. On a dynamic level, I dont see any chemistry between the three of them. My interpretation of Dabi would not want to be with anyone who was so obsessed and devoted to his father, and my interpretation of Shigaraki wouldn't ever pursue someone that the rest of his friends hated. You do you, but in my opinion, Overhaul is rancid and I should have stuck him on my fanfic bingo card as the third "he is the problem" cause if it's not Endeavor or AFO acting as the antagonist in my writing, it's Overhaul or Muscular.
