Were there any pairings between characters you would've liked to have on DS9?

I really wish we'd done a Ziyal/Jake relationship, which I only realized recently when I saw some art here on Tumblr suggesting it. I wish she could've been there with Jake and Nog from the start as a trio.

Trying out ibis paint in between classes to draw Ziyal, just because she's awesome, totally not because I want to rant about how strange it is, that they depict Ziyal largely as this naive girl, who knows nothing of her father's crimes, even though she was literally raised in a labor camp. Anyway I love Ziyal, she should've been in some episodes with the other kids and gone on silly hijinks (possibly dealing with Ziyal trying to reintegrate into society) :(

and you know. it really would’ve been hilarious if dukat ordered ziyal to flirt with jake and try to have a relationship with him so he could get closer to sisko. and ziyal goes to garak and vents to him about it and garak’s like “what won’t that man do to get dicked down. the lengths he’ll go to get sucked and fucked, it’s embarrassing” and ziyal is just like “uncle garak please don’t say such things <3 he’s still my father no matter how horny he may be. anyway are you still letting dr bashir beat the shit out of you hoping he’ll kiss you?”
