Top AO3 Ships of 2024

Unfortunately, "Harry Styles/Louis Tomlinson" fics did not make the 2024 Top 100 List*, as there were approximately 1083* fics written this year (August 7 2023 - August 2 2024). This is a drop of at least 31 places from last year.

For Top Ships Of All Time: Harry Styles/Louis Tomlinson is top 10*, down one spot from last year. This comes to a total of 40111* fics on AO3!

Top 5 favorite ships, please (can be canon or non canon) from any media? Thx.

I'm actually not that big of a shipper, at least to the degree I am with Satosugu. It doesn't take a lot for me to be like "oh, those two characters would be cute together/ have tension that definitely needs to be resolved" but to REALLY ship something, I need to be really invested.

So I will try my best with this list, this question has been haunting me for DAYS lmaoo. I saw it and my brain immediately emptied. This is the best I could think of 😭😭

Current list (besides number 1 the others may vary):

1 Satosugu (JJK) (duh)

2 Eremika (AOT)

3 Everlark (THG)

4 Thanzag (Hades game)

5 Percabeth (Percy Jackson)

Honorable mention: Destiel (this used to be MY SHIP, I loved it so much then the series finale ruined the show for me)

Now, these are not the ONLY ships that I ship, but they're the ones I have gone out of my way to read fanfic for (except for Percabeth). I do like other ships, they just aren't my favorite thing/ have been overshadowed by other ships for me in a particular show. I tried to keep the list one ship per show, but there are others I'd like to add (like Itafushi and Eruri),

You know that line from the Hamilton Mixtape when Angelica is like "what have we done with our lives, and what did it get us?" This is DOFP old!cherik and I'm fucked up over it. Love doesn't conquer all but it does keep you company in jail a couple times a month.

Spike/Buffy. I'm sorry, this was fucking formative for me. Toxic ship of my heart. How to hate yourself into a relationship that makes your life worse and you can't let go of and also can be good eventually if you let it. When I tell you that I love you it's not because I want you. I've seen the best and the worst of you. No you don't but thanks for saying it. Deceased.

Max/Anne (Black Sails). You ever decide the best solution to a woman wanting to kill you is to seduce her and then accidentally set off her gay crisis then immediately U-Haul while telling yourself she's going to leave you creating a self-fulfilling prophecy and planning for this eventuality while telling yourself that it's for the best anyway because you have career goals while never getting over her and then at the end of the day realizing half that shit doesn't matter??? Yeah me either these two are crazy. I love them.

Honorable mention: the version of Buck and Eddie that the 911 fanfic writers see. It's the BECAUSE, EVAN of it all.

the fact that steddie ranked #2 of the top tumbler ships of 2022 is insane to me given that it only started at the end of may....these gay tumblr ppl (me) are determined

The A03 top ships of 2023 is out and the ships that include people of color the most are/were mainly east Asian characters from anime, K-Pop, Genshin Impact, and east Asian media in general. There was only 4 ships that included black characters on the list and one of those character's is Afro-Latina, Luz and she looks more Latina than black. There was 6 ships that included Latinos. Besides having alot of Asian characters and Asian celebrities it had white characters the most. It just goes to show that people are ignoring black characters cause there are alot of great ships that include black characters. It also shows that the only time people care about characters of color is when they're east Asian especially light skin east Asian cause those characters are very light skin. Outside of all that this years list was very white like it feels like people are purposely ignoring characters of colors, purposely ignoring ships that include characters of color especially ones that include a black character.
