WC: 26.7k Brother!Taeyong Retro-themed AU
With your fizzy drinks and vinyls in tow, you’re determined to make the most of your summer before the start of your first year at university. Everything’s seemingly perfect; humid afternoons with your closest friends, late-night mixers at your local alumnis' estates, and sleeping in to ungodly hours. What you didn’t predict, however, was your brother making the early trip home to surprise you with a certain someone — namely, his best friend since childhood — following closely behind. His unexpected appearance throws you off, and suddenly, your summer is filled to the brim with his presence. You’re finally able to taste the idea of mature love, but is it really all that it’s made out to be?

some canon stfuf about the sonder cast bwaa :33 you can have ur own hcs btw id love to see them <3 but!! yeah,, i feel liek infodumping a teensy bit hrgfrhfh mainly cuz im not in an art mood 2day sigh doesnt include everyone bc this is only stuff i can think of off the top of my head atm but :3
lance: canonically bisexual, might be a trans man (havent decided? its honestly up 2 the audience, could go either way), was a huge moviestarplanet player when he was a kid, would probably play dress to impress methinks, for the LONGEST time was convinced something was going on between allura and keith and was insanely jealous and bitter, has the worst gaydar ever TRUST, figured out he was bisexual while playing msp but it only got worse when he met keith and hes really pissed about it
keith: gay as hell but hasnt exactly processed or accepted it (just knows hes scared of women) (for many reasons), transgender (will respond to anything besides feminine pronouns n such), most likely did his own piercings dont ask how or why, allura is the only woman thus far hes comfortable with because she reminds him of a certain someone, allura and him r huge gossips, jack of all trades but really does not know what hes good at like he doesnt know a thing about himself (one time lance challenged him to try out his sniper bc they got into an argument and keith was surprisingly good at it, he was evidently more confused than lance somehow?) (think that one family guy audio where s liek "how r u doing that" "i dunno ;;; O_O"), if you ask him ANYTHING about himself he will most likely just say "yeah i dont rememebr" or "I dont know", often talks very old school and "retro" (in lance's words), surprisingly a decent cook/baker, not as good as hunk of course but can keep up, despite this it was revealed in a conversation with hunk that keith was eating glass among other inedible things while going crazy in the desert (his feral era <3), can diy explosives among other things and no one acknowledges it because it scares them, this boy is very autistic, audhd in fact, im right and you all know it allura: lesbian but doesnt realize it just yet, would probably love the idea of neo/xenopronouns she'd find them whimsical, surprisingly prefers moths over butterflies (mainly after a talk she and keith had one night), huge gossip and loves romance but not in a "i need to date a man" way but "i want to play cupid" (think mabel from gravity falls) (she did have a phase of being boy crazy but that quickly went away when she was brought out of stasis), she loves dressing up but mainly dresses down and more casually because she doesnt go out as much thanks to altea going kaput and all that, she adores gardening and likes to make dyes and such from her flowers, huge diy queen (TRUSTT) she can sew and all that, probably real crafty, keith and allura are close friends and both extremely out of touch with normal human people, she frequently asks him for advice due to their closeness and they just make eachother worse /aff, unironically used wicked in a sentence and was very proud of it (lance almost threw keith out of an airlock for this one), not the best cook but tries her best and is fairly confident with her skills (vicecore if you play alchemy stars) (keith almost banned her from the kitchen) (they agreed on supervised kitchen hours)
pidge: aroace and agender, literally a chronically online cosplayer tech nerd, probably has been cancelled multiple times to the point where matthew had to take every piece of tech they had in the house, has doxxed people before, obsessed with vocaloid and anime, wants to get piercings really bad but their parents wont let them, uses any pronouns and if you ask for their gender they will change their answer everytime or answer with something silly like "the void", their favorite person is Hunk but beyond that prefers robots and tech as their companions, keith is their favorite victim of pranks (save him), the only one who isnt scared of keith even a little bit, evil scientist coded, too smart for their own good, not very socially smart and misses social cues but doesnt really care, very picky about the food they consume, iconic 13-14 year old who is a bit too excited at the prospect of having an excuse to build weapons
#lance mcclain#keith kogane#allura#pidge holt#vld#voltron#voltron: sonder#fun facts#slash headcanons#i guess#?#anyway i can do more posts liek this#if u guys want#keith was feral#dreamworks shouldve made him feral#domestication arc

Random (and somewhat silly) Leon Kennedy headcannons
* Leon is a sleepwalker. I have no justification for it other than I think it’d be funny
* Ironically he’s also a VERY light sleeper
* And to add insult to injury, he snores like a freight train.
* Leon is Transgender. Trust me guys he told me himself
* Also got that ADHD Autism combo. Again just trust me you guys he said so himself-
* Bisexual disaster. Probably leans towards men but every gender gives him Gay Panic
* Luis and Ada were his Bi Awakening.
* ((And probably Wesker too. I mean C’mon just look at the guy))
* And just like every Bisexual he CANNOT sit in chairs normally to save his life. If he even bothers to sit on one at all ((Kinda going off the second headcannon; he also sleeps in the WEIRDEST positions humanly possible))
* Leon has permanent Bad Posture. Both from when he used to wear a binder (Transmasc Tingz !!) and from old age
* He hams up his “”old age”” a LOT just to annoy Chris and Claire
* “Ooooooughhh you guys I can feel my bones turning to dust-“ “Shut UP LEON I’m NOT CARRYING YOU”
* Leon also wore a binder for FAR too long. Like he was fighting zombies and doing backflips all while his ribs were screaming in pain
* “Leon when did you last take off your binder” “why do YOU wanna know huh Chris 🤨” “TAKE IT OFF”
* ((Dw guys he practiced safe binding and got Top Surgery. Eventually))
* Leon dyes his hair blonde. You know I’m right
* It’s also like,, surprisingly soft??? He probably takes very good care of it and uses expensive products (probably the only expensive thing he owns)
* He also purposefully cuts it that way. In fact I recon he cuts it himself
* Much more competent people (Jill, Claire, Rebecca) have offered to cut it for him but he’s always refused
* Its one of the few things that reminds him of when he was still a Rookie cop that isn’t also a traumatic memory
* He’s got some PTSD just don’t worry about it ok
* Leon is N O T good at opening up. Like at all. But when somebody DOES manage to crack him he cries s o easily and he will cry for literal hours
* Chris and Claire are the only two people who’ve ever actually managed to successfully get him to open up to that point though
* He also probably sleeps better when he’s with somebody. But he’d never admit that
* Leon’s love language is probably a mix of Words Of Affirmation and Acts Of Service. He’d love it if for once he could come home to somebody having done the little chores for him
* He’s also probably a M A S S I V E sucker for any kind of physical touch. Again, won’t admit it, but he’s a big cuddler.
* Somebody please please please play with this man’s hair he will fall asleep in your lap in seconds
* Now this may be my own Autism special interest shining through but I LOVE the idea of Leon being a massive Pokémon fan
* His favourite games are Ruby, Sapphire and Emerald. Idk man he SEEMS like a Hoenn boy y’know
* His first starter was Torchic and Blaiziken remains as his all-time favourite Pokémon (he’s absolutely correct Torchic is the best Hoenn starter Fight Me)
* Probably still has his Gameboy from when he was a kid
* Leon’s also into retro anime. He likes to get Chris, Jill, Claire and Rebecca over just to show them his old childhood favourite shows like Astroboy or Sailor moon
* Will pause the DVD every 5 seconds to point something out or ramble on about something for 10 minutes
* Oh yeah he also absolutely keeps a DVD player in his home
* He’s a big sucker for old movies, especially old Queer movies but he’s also into classics like Back To The Future, Star Wars etc
*Probably was a big Star Wars kid
*((His favourite movie of all time is Legally Blonde but he will NEVER say that out loud))
* Leon’s always out of the country on some government mission so his house is probably pretty barren. He probably just stays with Chris or Claire after missions anyways
* Leon also still probably keeps in touch with Sherry and Ashley. He definitely went to their respective Graduations to support them at least
* He likes to collect little trinkets from his missions. Rocks, lighters, photos etc
* Other people have put this on their Headcannon lists too but I also agree that Leon is a MASSIVE Foodie
* The way to his heart is through a really good breakfast
* He’s also got a massive Sweet Tooth. Again, courtesy of other Headcannon lists
* He’s got low blood sugar so it probably evens out
* ALWAYS coming home from missions exhausted. In fact he’s exhausted on the plane. On the car ride there. DURING the mission. He’s an eepy little guy
* His T-Shots also make him Very Hungry All The Time. He thought it’d even out after a year of being on Testosterone but over a decade later and he still eats like a teenage boy
* ((It’s ok though cuz Chris always has his fridge stocked full. It might just be for Leon who knows))
* Leon’s not really either a Cat or a Dog guy. He likes both equally and would definitely have one of the other if it weren’t for his work
* He also prefers warm weather :))
* He likes to go swimming with his friends whenever he gets the opportunity
* Everyone makes fun of Chris for his Hawaiian shirts but Leon ABSOLUTELY has way too many as well
* Wears socks and jandals. I’m from Aotearoa NZ I’m allowed to say that ok
*BIG Mitski & Lana Del Rey fan
*I also imagine he probably likes older music like Madonna or Bowie or Blondie
* He’s not very good at it but he likes to paint his nails
* Or he just lets Rebecca or Claire do it for him
* If he goes a long time without cutting his hair either he’ll also put it up in a lil ponytail :)
* He’s got a big ol toothy, lop-sides grin.
* I recon he also involuntarily bites his tongue when he’s genuinely smiling too
* I said before he keeps trinkets and stuff from his missions but he absolutely keeps more personal mementos too. For example;
* He bought himself an old Spanish version of Don Quixote for Luis
* He keeps his old cop uniform in his closet
* He stole Chris’ shades and never returned them
* Still has one of Adas missing rings, etc etc etc
* Similarly to physical objects, Leon also picks up on the habits of people he’s met from his missions
* He always double-checks the barrel of his gun after he’s seen Chris do it so many times
* Holds his knife in his left hand after Krauser
* Very rarely smokes on occasion to remember Luis
* Picked up more Advanced First-Aid after Rebecca ((she also insisted it would be helpful))
* I could go on forever
* Leon can’t imagine ever actually being able to settle down and retire because of his work, but if he could, he would love to be a Father :))
* One last silly one cuz this list has gotten surprisingly serious; Leon unironically references Vines All The Time. It will drive everyone around him insane

UFO 50 Abducted Me For 159.2 Hours
12 Days of Aniblogging 2024, Day 4
I love video games...
UFO 50 may love video games more than me, though. It’s a preposterously ambitious compilation of fifty small-to-medium-scale games, developed and published by Mossmouth, which here refers to Spelunky creator Derek Yu and like five of his buddies.
These are retro-styled games, with three or four asterisks apiece on ‘retro’ and ‘styled’. The overall aesthetic approximates the eight-bit period, with a limited color palette and sequenced music, but things get tricky after that. There’s deliberate anachronisms everywhere, with a heavy focus on genres and mechanics popularized far after the NES era. There’s games in this collection that take elements from real-time strategy, 4X, deckbuilders, tower defense, platform fighters, and even immersive sims. The evolutionary lineage of games influencing other games is practically flipped on its head here! The Steam page for UFO 50 describes this as “a familiar 8-bit aesthetic with new ideas and modern game design”, which I think is a frankly bad way to describe the means by which these games constantly astound and surprise by playing with our expectations. It's the kind of collection where you boot up some shit titled "Waldorf's Journey" expecting a dinky little mascot platformer, and after twenty minutes of calibrating walrus trajectories you're forced to contend with the fact that Waldorf's Journey has imprinted itself into your very soul.
Only a few of the games in this collection are straightforward pastiches of popular NES genres – there’s a beat ‘em up, a space shooter, some arcadey sports titles, and a Bubble Bobble, but that’s about it. Everything else is either a novel idea or working within far more advanced genre mishmashes. The panicked unit reorganizing of Attactics, the death-based puzzle platforming of Mortol, the glorious Fire Emblem and Pogs mashup that is Lords of Diskonia - even when liberally borrowing from other games, it’s really creative stuff! I loved all the times when my initial assumptions of how the game would play ended up completely wrong. You may think Rock On! Island is a tower defense game, but there’s a secondary aspect of creating chicken-immolating factories to get more resources that practically supersedes the tower defense aspect in later levels.
Of course, these are the Spelunky guys, so procedural generation and roguelike elements feature heavily in more than a few of these games. That’s the biggest jump in plausibility – more than half of the games in this collection could hypothetically run on the NES with enough tweaks, but anything with enough randomness fundamentally could not. If you hate procgen with a burning passion then a fifth of the collection will probably be out of reach for you, but there’s plenty of bespoke design to go around as well.
UFO 50, as a collection of a defunct fictional company's game catalogue, conjures up the feeling of playing old games without the manual or a copy of Nintendo Power to help you out. For younger players it might invoke the times you tried to emulate NES games to see what all the older gamers were always going on about, devoid of the original context. There’s a real willingness on the part of UFO 50 to just drop you in and have you figure out the controls and strategy yourself. Because of this approach, the first ten minutes of any given game are often the roughest! That’s a wild trust fall on the developer's part, asking someone to stick through the period of confusion and frustration so that they can watch those emotions bloom into understanding, then competency, then joy. These “dude trust me” design moments are everywhere.
It doesn’t always work. Caramel Caramel has a straight-up backwards difficulty curve, Star Waspir has way too much going on on top of demanding shmup literacy in advance, and Porgy plus Divers are both extremely divisive for their slow and punishing starts, which definitely made me lose interest. But sometimes the difficulty and hostility actively draw you in, in a way that easier or more tutorialized games would not have. Rakshasa is a short but extremely difficult platformer inspired by Ghosts N’ Goblins that I just kept chipping away at in between trying out games. Rail Heist seems simple at first but is chock-full of emergent systems that let you truly rip the levels open if you think outside the box, something which is actively encouraged by the optional clear conditions. Onion Delivery is Crazy Taxi with tank controls and random events to make driving even more stressful. It's hell on earth and I love it for that. Mortol 2 also has very open-ended design, with each new run of 99 lives and one-hit deaths forcing you to rethink and optimize your approach until you find a way through its winding map.
The fifty games here are organized in chronological release date, with the “earlier” games being far simpler and often less polished than the later ones, even if their quality usually still shines through with gameplay. This is a bold move on Yu’s part. The first game in the collection, Barbuta, is a cryptic La Mulana-like with cheesy traps, clunky movement, and a truly painful learning curve. It is what the true game design freaks out there refer to as “kino”. I’m not on their level yet, but there is plenty in this collection for me to enjoy. Generally, I’ve found Eirik Suhrke’s contributions to be the most personally compelling to me on a gameplay level. Mooncat is an absolutely sublime platformer that forces you to relearn movement from first principles with controls that cannot possibly be described in text format. Campanella is a delightful little obstacle course of a game, and I had a fun time hunting for secrets in it. Warptank is a solid puzzle platformer, Pingolf is easily my favorite multiplayer game in the collection, and I’ve already praised Onion Delivery and Rakshasa. Surhke has a knack for fiendish little games where the difficulty comes across as more of a punchline than anything else. They’re bursting with character through the gameplay alone. I felt the drive to rise up to almost every one of his contributions, which is similar to how I feel about my favorite indie game developer, sylvie. I hereby award Eirik Surhke the UFO 50 Game Design Pervert Award. Who would’ve known that the Spelunky composer was as good of a designer as the Spelunky guy himself, if not more?
play mooncat. I am not fucking around
UFO 50 also has quite the elaborate metapuzzle, which is only really worth investigating once you’ve become familiar with the whole game library. It’s a good’n, though. The puzzle hunt unlocks a secret 51st game snuck into the collection by a disgruntled employee, chronicling the late days of the company with an atmosphere that feels hollow and downright wrong. The vibe is RPG Maker horror more than anything else, which is a cool and unexpected pull for this kind of compilation. Through Miasma Tower, the small team process that created UFO 50 is mythologized and problematized, with the fictional company UFO Soft undergoing serious financial and cultural problems, as well as implied fraud, cults, and even a missing person investigation. It was an incredible privilege for Derek Yu and company to be able to pour all of their time and skill into creating a game collection of this caliber without the pressure of money or deadlines due to the success of Spelunky, and Miasma Tower is something of a reckoning about that. Very happy it’s here.
UFO 50 isn’t for everyone. You have to be a fan of either retro games or indie games, ideally both. You have to have an open mind for getting your shit kicked in by both mechanical difficulty and initial game obtuseness. You need to be able to look past the deliberate anachronisms and learn to roll with the mechanical surprises that each game has to offer. But if you’re a weirdo like me, then maybe you’ll also sink a hell of a lot of time into superclearing more than two-thirds of the collection. If nothing else, it’s an amazing value proposition!

LUNAR Remastered Collection - Announcement Trailer
youtube
Japanese version
LUNAR Remastered Collection will launch for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and PC via Steam in Spring 2025. It includes remastered versions of LUNAR: Silver Star Story and LUNAR 2: Eternal Blue.
First details
The Series That Started It All When the games first released in the ’90s, LUNAR was a pioneer of its time, often credited as being one of the first JRPGs to become popular in the West. With the upcoming release of LUNAR Remastered Collection, we invite you to experience (or re-experience) this iconic title that shaped the JRPG genre. A Timeless Classic, Reimagined The remastered edition brings a host of exciting upgrades, including widescreen support, enhanced pixel art, high-definition animated cutscenes, and all-new English voice acting. Players can choose to either go old school with the original visuals or go remastered for a more modern look. Plus, a new toggle feature allows players to speed up battles, giving them more control over the pace of their adventure, while improved strategy settings make combat even more convenient. And for the first time in the series, LUNAR will be available in two additional languages: German and French, alongside English and Japanese. This image shows a party battling a Yeti. To the top right of screen, the UI denotes the battle’s speed, as the player can use L2 or R2 to speed up or slow down the clash. The Adventure Begins – LUNAR: Silver Star Story LUNAR: Silver Star Story begins in the quiet village of Burg, where a boy named Alex dreams of grand adventures inspired by the tale of Dragonmaster Dyne. Enticed by adventure and treasure, Alex and his friends set off on a quest, but with the sudden emergence of the Magic Emperor who wishes to control the world, it’s up to them to fight the rising evil and save the world from peril. This shows characters conversing with a white dragon. On-screen dialogue from the dragon states: “You may begin, children, Your future now rests squarely in your own diminutive hands.” The Legacy Continues – LUNAR 2: Eternal Blue Set 1000 years after LUNAR: Silver Star Story, LUNAR 2: Eternal Blue follows a young adventurer named Hiro, who encounters a mysterious visitor from the Blue Star while exploring an ancient tower. Named Lucia, she insists that she be taken to the ruler of their world, Goddess Althena. Together, Hiro and Lucia encounter the best of allies, the worst of enemies, and the darkest forces of destruction that threaten the whole of creation. This image shows a character hanging upside down from a rope. Flames rage on the floor below them. On-screen dialogue from the character states: “Oh no! The exit’s closing. Hurry!” the Plot Thickens The LUNAR series tells a classic tale of a young adventurer with a fluffy sidekick, who falls in love with a girl who may or may not be immortal. What begins as a light-hearted quest quickly takes a dark turn with the rise of an evil villain, subsequently placing the fate of the entire world in the hero’s hands. This timeless story, filled with dragons, swords, and treasures, is brought to life by an unforgettable cast of characters—from a young priestess who acts the perfect heiress at home but has a fiery temper, to a tragic villain who nevertheless has a flair for the dramatic. The games’ straightforward and effortless storytelling, combined with thoughtful character development, gives LUNAR its unique charm and enduring appeal. This shows characters wandering through a woodland village. Iconic Art The allure of LUNAR also lies in its amazing artwork in both the anime cutscenes and 2D pixel art. The blend of these two distinct art styles in the battles, events, and anime cutscenes made it a standout title when it first released. Even today, LUNAR‘s ’90s anime aesthetic holds up well in quality, and we’ve polished it even further for this remaster. This retro art style is a rarity nowadays, and playing this game will surely satiate your appetite for ‘90s throwbacks.

The Enduring Charm of Varsity Jackets for Men
The men's varsity jacket, also referred to as the letterman jacket, has a long history dating as far back as the late 19th century. Born from the emblem of achievement for athletes, it has long since passed that category. Now the mens jacket varsity is recognized, not only for its rich history within the world of sport but also for its versatility, style, and universal appeal. Every wardrobe would benefit from having one in it, whether casual for everyday or the type of statement piece that elevates a wardrobe: the varsity jacket for men.
A Brief History of Varsity Jackets
In 1865, Harvard University registered the first-ever appearance of the varsity jacket. It was worn primarily by the baseball players of the university to signify their athletic prowess. With wool bodies, leather sleeves, and those all-important chenille patches bearing the team letters, early jackets became really the norm of school phenomena in their transition and transformation from the sporting field to the streets and runways.
The varsity jacket will be found making even greater strides in the 20th century when it became a fashion staple, embraced by stars, singers, and all those who have an instinct toward modern fashion. Today, it stands unlimited by youth, individualism, and a pinch of nostalgia. Yet while the history remains, the varsity jacket for men has seen its share of design developments over time to match the modern world.
rleatherjackets.com
How to Wear your Varsity Jacket for Men
Styling up with a varsity jacket can be a fairly easy thing to do. Here are some tips to let you strut into town in full confidence using this classic piece:
Casual Cool: To be casual in one's everyday life, throw on that varsity jacket on some plain tees and slim, tight-fit jeans and white sneakers. If you're going for maximum versatility, then get a jacket that is in neutral colours, like black, navy, or grey.
Street Style Edge: Wear your best hoodie, set it up with some distressed jeans, and keep some high tops. Then layer the varsity jacket on top. Add a cap or a beanie to bring that affordable cool vibe.
Smart-Casual Sophistication: Make it classy by pairing the varsity jacket with a neatly pressed button-down shirt and chinos. Finish off the style with loafers or Chelsea boots for a touch of sophistication.
Retro Charm: Have the accurate old-school vibe with a varsity jacket that comes entirely complete with its flashy colours and traditional patches. Team that with some straight or bootcut jeans and retro sneakers to create the real old-school look.
What Should You Consider While Choosing a Men's Varsity Jacket?
There are a number of things to consider when looking for the best varsity jacket for men:
Material: While searching for varsity jackets, choose those made of quality materials: wool for the body, real leather for the sleeves. With these two materials, you will get durability and a feel of luxury at the same time.
Fit: The fit is one of the most important things when it comes down to how good or bad your varsity jacket looks on you. Get one that's snug but not too much so that you can layer under; at your wrist the sleeves should hit, and the hem should sit at your waist.
Design: From bright colour combinations to simple and clean, varsity jackets come in many designs. Choose one that's appropriate for your aesthetic. Don't be afraid to experiment with different designs and prints, patches, and embroidery for uniqueness.
Functionality: And what's more, check practical little details like hidden pockets, buttons, closure systems, and lining. Pockets multiplied on a stylish varsity jacket would spell function; it would deny double duty winter-quilted lining.
Renowned Labels for Guys' Varsity Jackets
In case you're all set to obtain a quality men's varsity jacket, then you can check these brands because they can really cater 'to'style and craftsmanship':
Nike: This state is famous for their fusion of sportswear and street wear. Therefore, they offer different styles of varsity jackets that suit the contemporary user.
Champion: Athletic companies now have great varsity jackets, which both speak of long tradition and modernity.
Levi's: Though this company is popularly known for producing denim, Levi's has also designed great varsity jackets in a rugged, all-American flavour.
Polo Ralph Lauren: To add a touch of the high life, try the well-known varsity jackets from Polo Ralph Lauren that scream sophistication and never-go-out-of-style appeal.
ASOS: In case you lack money, ASOS is the best option among the various brands because it is a popular name, yet it sells so many fashionable varsity jackets with prices that students can afford.
Maintenance Guidelines for Your Varsity Jacket
In order to keep your mens varsity jacket looking clear and glamorous, you should be advised on the following care tips:
Cleaning: Before cleaning, always refer to the care label before attempting to clean your varsity jacket. Generally, for wool and leather jackets to clean, use a damp cloth and mild detergent to spot-clean stains.
Storage: Place your jacket in a cool and dry place. Avoid hanging it in direct sunlight, as this may lead to the fading of colours over time.
Maintenance: Condition leather sleeves regularly to avoid cracking and to ensure that they remain soft. Remove pilling from wool bodies with a fabric shaver.
Final Thoughts
A varsity jacket for men is much more than just a piece of wear—it is identity, tradition, and statement, all rolled into one. While it is something brought about by athleticism, in modern living, it stands tall for any man to have in his wardrobe.

Parasol Stars: The Story of Bubble Bobble III launches July 11 - Gematsu
Parasol Stars: The Story of Bubble Bobble III will launch for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Switch on July 11 for $9.99 / €9.99, ININ Games announced. Pre-orders are available now for Switch via Nintendo eShop with a 10 percent-off discount, and will open for Xbox Series and Xbox One on June 19. The PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4 versions can be wishlisted via PlayStation Store.
Here is an overview of the game, via ININ Games:
About The legendary bubble dragons Bub and Bob are back… in human form!? In this critically acclaimed TAITO classic, available on modern consoles for the first time, the now-transformed Bubby and Bobby embark on a mission to save their neighboring planets. But this time, instead of blowing bubbles, our favorite duo swings colorful parasols filled with magical powers. Use parasols as a shield against enemy projectiles or stun, and pick up and throw foes as projectiles themselves! Parasol Stars released in 1991 as the sequel to Rainbow Islands, marks the third installment in TAITO’s massively successful Bubble Bobble series of action platformers and has lost none of its colorful charm throughout the years. High-score hunters can rejoice because just like in the bubble-filled predecessor skillful play will quickly fill the levels with sweet and fruity collectibles that can be gathered to climb the leaderboard. Look out for a variety of pick-ups to be found granting you all sorts of special powers from bouncing energy balls to screen-clearing magic. Play on your own or bring a friend and take on the challenging levels together! Just like using enemies as projectiles, flinging your buddy against the enemies could be a good strategy. But be careful, as you won’t only stun the enemy you hit but your buddy-turned projectile as well. In the two-player cooperative mode, tactical teamwork is key to clearing the levels and getting the highest scores.
Key Features
Addictive arcade-style gameplay.
Creative and clever game mechanics with magical Parasols.
More Parasols! Enjoy the tactical depth of the action-filled two-player cooperative play.
A cosmic journey with eight vibrant planets (and two secret bonus levels).
Catchy and memorable soundtrack.
Parasol Stars is a retro gem brought back for modern consoles whose bright and beautifully crafted worlds will draw you in, and its simple but addictive one- or two-player gameplay will make you want to come back again and again to reach the top of the leaderboard.

— Wendy —
It's Wendy's birthday today! So if you see her please go say hi and don't forget to bring a gift!
For those that may not be familiar, or are interested in a peppy, kind-hearted blue sheep: Wendy may be just the villager for you! Let me introduce you!
About
Wendy is a light blue sheep with a slightly darker blue on top of her head. Her face, arms, and legs are an orange colour with a darker orange-brown for her hooves. She has yellow horns and closed, slanted eyes.
Her slogan is lambkins. And Wendy's favourite saying is "Every cloud has a silver lining" which, as always, is super inspiring and uplifting. She wants you to remain positive even when times are hard. How sweet!
As a peppy villager, she will appear excited and cheerful when talking to the player and other villagers. If you see her outside, she will often tell the player she ate too much pie, and she needed to take a walk. She may get upset easily, but will soon forget the argument due to her short attention span. Like other peppy villagers, she dreams of becoming famous. When Wendy has an argument it may be due to other animals commenting that she does not have "star quality". She will soon get over it. She will not get along with snooty villagers but may also sometimes conflict with them due to their habit of spreading gossip. She will also get along with lazy, jock, and smug villagers. Cranky villagers may have a hard time understanding Wendy, due to their different personalities and lifestyles.
Gift Guide
As always, players who are looking to level up friendships with their villagers should keep in mind that villager's interests and hobbies. Wendy's favourite colours are red and green and her favourite styles are cool and gorgeous. Of course, it is up to the player to decide what to give villagers as they may display them in their home or wear them! All that being said, here are some gift ideas I think Wendy will like:
Fancy Kimono
Chimayo vest
Retro coat
Marble print dress
Puffy sleeve blouse
Plover cardigan
Animal print coat
Groovy shirt
After-school jacket
Silk hat
Any gyroid
Kotatsu
Pro tape recorder
Mic stand
Professional headphones
Broom and dust pan
Floor seat
Snowflake wreath
Fruit themed furniture
Blue themed furniture
When in doubt, you can also give any villager a piece of fruit!
Fun Facts
Wendy is the youngest of 3
She was originally introduced in Animal crossing: City Folk!
Wendy is said to resemble Stella - though they are not related!

Emulation
I've been thinking about emulators a lot recently, since getting a retro-handheld and emulating a bunch of games. I'm having a lot of fun with it, and I've been inspired in various ways - I'd love to put together a project that integrates a lot more game improvements into an emulator. Here's some of those concepts:
(Pictured above, Phantasy Star 1 for the Nintendo Switch, showing emulated game and extras like maps and character healths)
(1) Extra-Textual Information
I've seen a few emulators dabble in this with varying degrees, and I always find it a treat. Some things, like providing things like maps or quests that the original game didn't track for the player (due to tech limitations) or more narrative-contextual things like character portraits or illustrations from the manuals. Shout out to the WanderBar plugins developed by Legends of Localization author, Clyde Mandelin.
(Pictured above, Seiken Densetsu/Final Fantasy Adventure showing emulated game and extras like enemy stats or item descriptions and illustrations from the manual)
Additions like this are important for many different reasons; more approachability to a wider audience (Truncated text like LIT3 from Final Fantasy 1 spring to mind), a richer more 'fulfilled' version of the game the artists and designers intended but couldn't represent, and accessibility features that allow differently abled people to enjoy games in an era that frankly didn't make much of an effort.
And, integration with existing walkthroughs wouldn't go awry, since older games sometimes require esoteric requirements to progress that are simply unreasonable to ask in the more modern era of game design. (Though opting in to these systems would be a necessity)
(Pictured above, a screenshot of an Ascii rendering of the title of The Legend of Zelda, A Link to the Past, from GameFaqs. Ascii you can trust!)
Honestly, I could go on and on. Things from concept art to advertisements to additional media like the Link to the Past Comic would give a more fulsome and authentic experience.
(2) Modding and User Generated Content
Really, the above are only possible via community efforts, obsessively collecting data. Thus, the ideal system for this to work within is one that in open source and has robust and well-documented modding tools.
Having used Mesen and Project64 to mess with graphics and textures, this is really powerful, but also feels like a half-measure at times, as it's still restrained within the graphics capability of those systems, and often simply a 'resolution' slider.
(Pictured above, an unfinished Final Fantasy Mod replacing graphical assets with concept illustrations from Yoshitako Amano)
One thing that springs to mind is the implementation of the Diablo 2 Remaster; The developers spoke about essentially having an "API" to reach the important parts of the game's original implementation to then add extra (visual) information on top of. Things like 'player facing direction' can be added on to in order to rotate the rendered model and slerp it smoothly between those angles, something not possible in the original implementations.
Thus, the core of the game is preserved, with only the presentation changing.
This is mentioned for it's structure, obviously there's tons of labor that goes into these graphical assets that just aren't possible for a layman to create a games' worth.
(Pictured above, a comparison of screenshots of Diablo 2 and Diablo 2 Remastered demonstrating the rendering-level improvements)
(3) Creativity and Freedom
The two above points really imply this third one, which is a more collective ownership by the community. Something that a system like this would unlock is the ability to remix and remaster a game in a way that could be anything - respectful to the original intent, or a wild re-imagining of what the game might look like directed by you.
(Pictured above, the Boss Room from Legend of Zelda redrawn with a much higher fidelity pixel art)
(Credit to Zaebucca, apologies for reposting art without reblogging it properly. Link)
(Pictured above, a Dragon Boss Fight from Golden Sun redrawn as higher quality digital art)
(Credit to Sabbitabbi, apologies for reposting art without reblogging it properly. Link)
This sort of preservation-through-community is wildly important in an era of games that have been all but abandoned by their developers (if the studios in question still exist, even) and games that are profound in shaping the genres of their era are fading away; Something that the youtuber Nerrel has touched on in various videos of his.
(4) Actually Making the Damn Thing
There have been some previous work on things like this that I really admire, but haven't really seen (or weren't built for) widespread popularity in the larger gaming sphere.
(Pictured above, the dragon boss from Legend of Zelda, projected oddly into a 3D scene with a sword being thrown sideways at it)
One well meaning but obviously comedic attempt was done by Tom7 (Suckerpinch) on youtube, where an automatic system was programmed to 'convert' NES games to 3D. It's an interesting experiment but honestly proves to me that any automatic or AI assisted route is futile; that this would have to be hand tuned or developed.
A similar attempt to the above is the steam released 3dSen, which is really impressive but has similar pitfalls to other emulators described above - by systematizing the rendering, it imposes strange and unintuitive requirements on graphics that simply don't have to be constrained that way. This is caused by the automatic nature of the game (see water tiles below)
(Pictured above, 3DSen screenshot showing graphical problems when rendering water tiles)
So what the heck does the ideal system look like for this sort of thing?
The biggest parts of those (and I'm omitting a bunch of things, obviously) would be an emulator core with game-specific knowledge built in that's available to a scripting layer. The scripting layer in turn would interact with this and where appropriate interrupt the emulator's rendering to inject models, sounds, menus, etc.
The original game rom would not be distributed in any way, but could easily be md5 checked and verified for correct behaviour with the API. The Data Packs would ideally be a solid file (probably just a renamed zip lol) so they could be easily distributed and 'opened' by the emulator, instead of having to do tedious mod installation.
Within the data packs would be some sort of scripting initialization hooks and file organization such that resources are appropriately loaded and fed to the rendering system as needed.
Now, as for when I actually start working on this...? Whew, we'll see. But I'm hoping this resonates with some folks out there!

ASICS EX89 "LAKERS & PISTONS & CELTICS"
The colors pay homage to NBA teams and evoke retro nostalgia! The "FABRE JAPAN L" and "FABRE POINT GETTER" were classic basketball shoes created in the 1980s. The lasts were created exclusively based on the foot shapes of top Japanese players, and the texture of the shoes became one's own as one wore them in, which was the very pride of ASICS. Later, to embody the key phrase "If you're serious, you're ASICS," a succession of successor models were added to the lineup, including the "GEL-SPOTLYTE," developed in collaboration with NBA star player ISIAH THOMAS. The high specs and exquisite craftsmanship of "Japan-made" sneakers are now being introduced to the world. In November 2022, "RONNIE FIEG," a charismatic figure in the modern sneaker scene, was one of those who were fascinated by "ASICS" since his boyhood, and in November 2022, he released his own "EX89" based on "GEL-EXTREME," a basketball shoe released in 1989. EX89", a special model that pays homage to his roots, the New York-based "Knicks". The outsole was inspired by a view of an American cityscape from a moving airplane. The outsole is inspired by an American cityscape seen from an airplane on the way to the airport. The "FF BLAST" midsole, which is used in running shoes, is used in the insole to provide cushioning and comfort while maintaining the form of court-like shoes. This time, featuring the colors of the NBA's most powerful teams. Three retro and energetic colors will be available, including "Purple" and "Green," which symbolize the "Los Angeles Lakers" and "Boston Celtics," two of the most fiercely competitive teams in the NBA.

Close ups of the crowns bc I'm so proud of them!
Design thoughts beneath cut (prepare for yap)
Grian - I had a very clear idea of what I wanted going into this one - Sun. So we got big spikes like Sun rays and brilliant gold. We got the tricolor heart gems ofc bc 3rd Life is the og and Grian is the creator. Its also fucking massive bc its meant to be heavy as hell. It weighs down him like the guilt/grief he feels for killing Scar! :3
Scott - The image is fudgy bc of layering issues but the rods like those blaze rods that float around his head (I don't draw those words his design normally). I couldn't not include them, they're too iconic. Silver instead of gold bc it just goes better w his palette, and the crown is meant to vaguely resemble a many pointed star.
Pearl - I LOVE this one. When I started I actually had no idea wtf I was gonna do but halfway through I had the idea of placing a mourning veil of sorts over it, bc Pearl's rage was born out her grief over Tilly's death. It also works like a 'blinded by rage' sort of situation, cause it would cover her eyes if she was wearing it. The uneven edges of the veil are meant to sort of look like blood dripping but it's not realllyyy showing.
The gems are meant to be shaped like phases of moon. The big ruby represents 5am Pearl, and it looks like a full, blood moon. The two adjacent crescent gems are more blue tinted bc they're meant to represent Scott. The two gems are the sides are both semi-circle even though you can't really see it at this angle. They're supposed to be opposite half-moon, and they're red and blue respectively to represent Pearl and Scott, two sides of the same coin, two halves of the same whole.
Martyn - I don't like this one as much..but it turned out visually cool so. The bottom part is meant to be a reference to how a lot of people draw the LimLife players w bomb collars and such for timers (its a bomb headband not a collar tho sshhh). The timer display is gold for fanciness and obviously its on 0:00. The coral is, well, for Mean Gills. But also the two biggest front stalks are meant to look like swords crossing, and one of them is supposed to look broken at the top.
Scar - I went for a very retro Disney villain, Maleficent typa vibe w the base crown (its obsidian btw) bc that is what Scar would want. Also I think it plays very well into his whole loneliness thing. The flowers are partly there bc I needed smth to add interest and partly there bc...actually no that's all really 😅
Cleo - The most visually boring one imo but also the concept for this one got me so excited I actually though of this concept before even starting sketches for the others...Its supposed to look like one of those shitty plastic princess crowns both as a reference to the real world and as a reference to how Cleo is the only non-canon 'fake' winner. Also bonus the gem looks like a Watcher eye bc I think Real Life is the most connected to the Watchers.
The Hall of Victors is soon to welcome a new display.

A carefully chosen jersey can represent a cherished memory, like a World Cup win or a league title. Rare Jersey Shop recognizes this emotional connection and provides a range of options, including classic designs and limited-edition pieces for true enthusiasts.
What to Look for in a Quality Soccer Jersey
When purchasing a soccer jersey, quality matters. Authenticity, material, and design are key factors to consider. Authentic jerseys often have specific features such as embroidered logos, advanced moisture-wicking technology, and reinforced stitching for durability. At Rare Jersey Shop, we ensure every jersey meets these standards, so you can feel confident about the quality and authenticity of your purchase.
