Matt and various weapons...
Guns — Not his preferred choice of weapon, but he does carry a concealed one at all times (if he's out on a mission, he tends to wear a shoulder holster), just in case. He's a decent enough shot, but Matt prefers to go the quiet/stealth route, so it's a last resort for when shit goes down and there's no other option.
Knives — His go to weapons. He tends to carry several of them at any given time, concealed throughout several parts of his body. There's usually a normal knife/dagger, several throwing knives, and one slender bladed knife.
Poison Darts — Unlike the other two, Matt doesn't usually have those on him, unless he anticipates needing them. The poison he uses (concentrated cone snail poison) is just a little too dangerous to be carrying around casually. That being said, it's definitely one of his most effective weapons. As long as it hits its target, it's guaranteed to take it down within moments.
His hands — Not a weapon per se, but Matt is incredibly skilled in martial arts and therefore a serious threat in close combat; even without his knives. His chosen discipline is changquan (長拳) (though he's also dabbled in jianshu (剑术), but there's very little practical use for it), and he's been training since he was old enough to understand and take in lessons.

okau so this idea randomly came to mind so if requests r still open may i request a one of tartaglia’s little brother whos the reader. The reader even being younger than tartaglia he could be around (18-20), he ended up falling into the abyss like tartaglia, it felt as if it was years for reader in the abyss but was maybe only a couple hours. tartaglia finds out about this and hunts down his brother and comforts him since he knows what its like in the abyss. idk if this makes sense but take ur time :) , ive seen ur page floating around for a while now and just ended up following u lmao
call of the abyss
Ajax had returned to Snezhnaya after being abroad for work. Ajax’s brother, Y/n had just turned eighteen and Ajax got to celebrate it just a few days late. Y/n and his friends went out to celebrate him finally becoming an ‘adult’.
“Oh come on!” One of his friends nudged his arm. “The night barely began!” His friends laughed. They had been hanging out in an old fort they’ve had since their younger years. The old building somehow surviving the harsh weather of Snezhnaya for multiple years.
“I promised my brother I wouldn’t stay out too late so we could hang out. And he’s rarely home and I don't want to waste this time I have with him.” He replied as I stood up from the wood plank he was sitting on.
“It’s fine man, we get it.” His other friend replied. They sat higher up, looking down on Y/n. “You good to walk home by yourself? I think we’re going to stay out.” Y/n nodded his head and crossed his arms, and annoyed look crossed his face.
“Yes I can. I’ve walked the path many times, I don’t even live far.” He huffed as he made his way out of the fort. His friends laughed at his reply as he slowly made his way towards his home.
The snow crunching beneath his feet as the wind started to pick up a bit. Y/n groaned as he pulled his coat tighter to himself. Snow started to blow up around him making it hard to see anything but a few feet in front of him. His breath started to fasten as panic set in a bit. How did the weather change so drastically so quickly? The wind pushed him around as his surroundings started to become less familiar. Did he get turned around? He swore he never changed the direction he was walking in. Did the wind slowly push him in another direction? His breath started to become more panicked but before he could take another step the floor fell beneath his feet. All at once he was falling into darkness, the wind and snow no longer anywhere to be seen or heard.
Absolutely silent.
When Y/n stopped falling he hit the ground with a groan. He didn’t know how long he was falling or even how he survived the fall. He slowly got up, his hands shaking a bit as he slowly took in his surroundings. Blue and purple surrounded him, stars littered the dark sky above him. Where was he and how was he going to get out? The hairs on the back of Y/n’s neck rose as he heard the faint sound of something making its way over. He quickly stood up, his legs and arms shook as he did so. He pushed through as he slowly ran away from whatever seemed to make its way over, not too keen on meeting the inhabitants of this strange land.
-
Y/n wasn’t sure how much time passed since he fell down here. Time seemed to move differently than it did back in Snezhnaya. Was he even in Teyvat anymore? He didn’t know. It felt like months he’s been here but his body didn’t seem to reflect that. He hadn’t felt hungry, thirsty, or tired since he fell, however long ago that was now.
The creatures that roamed this land were much different from the ones he saw up in Snezhnaya. They could use the elements without visions, or at least he didn’t think they had any. He never stayed around long or close enough to see any so as far as he was concerned they didn’t. He was determined to stay undetected as long as he could, not sure how long it would be before he could make it back to Snezhnaya, or if he even could. But sadly his presence was eventually found by the creatures and beings from this place. He ran and ran, seeking a place to hide and wait for them to stop searching for him. Y/n was even more cautious now, looking over his shoulder constantly. Scared what would happen if they happened to get their hands on him.
Oh god, his family. How long has it been? Did they think he was dead? lost to the snow, frozen somewhere? Attacked by some creature? His heart ached at the thought of what his family must be going through.
Y/n slowly curled up, trying to silent his sobs. He just wanted to go home. And as if Celestia heard his wish, he felt the cold wind of Snezhnaya blow against his back. Snow falling onto his head. He lifted his head, his tired eyes open to see the white snow that covered the land. A sob broke through him as he quickly got up but quickly froze when he heard the sound of snow crunching under someone’s feet.
-
Y/n was supposed to be home hours ago. Ajax looked at the clock, a pit formed in his stomach. Something was off. He got up from where he was sitting in the living room and walked to the front door. He grabbed his coat and left the house silently, not wanting to disturb his sleeping family.
The air was quiet as he made his way towards where Y/n was supposed to be with his friends. The farther Ajax walked, the pit in his stomach grew deeper. Something about the air seemed off. Seemed to set off warning bells in his head.
The abyss. It all came rushing back. Ajax hurried his steps, hoping what he feared was not true. That you were safe and sound. Just as his panic started to grow more, he saw a figure sitting in the snow. The familiar figure stopped all the thoughts in his head as he stopped and stared. He hesitated for just a moment before he started to rush in his brother’s direction.
Y/n flinched when Ajax got close, his heart breaking. The fear in his brother's eyes as they might. Ajax stopped in his tracks, his heart felt like it broke into a million pieces. Ajax slowly kneeled down and opened his arms, his brother only hesitating for a moment before throwing himself at Ajax. Y/n craved the touch of someone after being alone for so long. He sobbed into Ajax should as he shushed him.
“Shh, shh, it’s alright. I got you.” Ajax whispered into his brother's hair. Anger started to form in Ajax. Why did his brother have to go through this? What did he do to deserve falling into the abyss?
Ajax slowly stood up with his brother in his arms. Carry him like he did when Y/n was just a baby. He rubbed Y/n’s back in soothing motions as he slowly started to walk home.
“It’s okay, we’ll get through this.” Ajax whispered to him as they walked away from the pit in the ground, oozing with an evil that Ajax hated with all his heart.
Hello! I kinda forgot how to write while writing this… hope it’s not noticeable. I’m also trying to like my writing style and be happy with it and not just quitting when i’m not instantly in love with it :p. i also write this in one sitting… anywhooo i also set up a ko-fi but do not feel like you have to send anything!! my writing is completely free and for fun (as much fun as trying to write with writers block is). Im not to sure how the abyss works even after reading through the wiki so i probably got something wrong but who cares and im also behind in the main story quest…. i’m not actually sure if people reads these notes but sorry for any spelling/grammar mistakes.

Headcanons for the Shane Stardew Valley that lives in my Switch because I wanted to put them down somewhere lol 💙🐔
•He's 35 years old. When Farmer tells him that's not old he replies "Old for a gridball player" and shrugs. (basing this on mid-30's apparently being old for a lot of sports lol)
•Definitely not as "weak" as he thinks he is either. The man helps Marnie around the farm, including hucking around heavy bags of animal feed and hay. And probably hauling heavy boxes around JojaMart. So great upper body strength, just gets tired and out of breath more easily than he used to.
•Strong arms and soft tummy 👍
•5'7" but wishes he was at least 6'1". A little insecure about it, especially since Farmer is taller than him.(she's 5'10")
•Favorite color is blue 💙
•His last name is Cooper. (Purely because I find it funny for him to have "coop" in his name. Like chicken coop lmao)
•Ears are pierced. I imagine 10mm gauges and two other piercings. Doesn't wear them super often, but enough so the holes don't close up.
•I think he'd be a Taurus. Stubborn but also down to earth.
•Started showing signs of depression as a teenager, but got dismissed as being "moody" and "lazy".
•Both parents had issues with alcohol and were distant/absent. His dad physically distant, as he was gone a lot and often came home drunk. His mom emotionally distant due to untreated depression.
•Leaving Shane to care for himself a majority of the time. So lots of microwaved pizza rolls and frozen dinners.
•Started drinking before the legal age because there was always alcohol in the house.
•Has not spoken to either parent since he moved out.
•Gridball was initially a good distraction for all the shit going on in his life and a way to get out of the house. Discovered he had a genuine love for the game and was really good at it. Good enough to play for the varsity team in college.
•Definitely a bit of a hot shot in college. Pretty popular for his goofy and easygoing personality and had a lot of friends(including Jas's parents). A few flings and serious relationships too.
•Ended up tearing his ACL, which put an end to his dream of going pro with his gridball career.
•Which exacerbated his depression and worsened his dependency on alcohol as a coping mechanism...which lead to a pretty bad breakup with his partner at the time. (This literally came to me in a dream lol)
•Light sleeper, particularly sensitive to noise. On top of having trouble sleeping a lot of nights because his brain won't shut off. Hence why he'll have a beer or two before bed, it helps him sleep.
•When that doesn't work he goes on walks. Nighttime is a preferable time to walk anyway because less chance to run into someone and have to make annoying small talk.
•Has dark circles under his eyes pretty much all the time due to lack of good sleep.
•Runs hot, basically a walking space heater. Which is great in the winter but MISERABLE in the summer.
•Was the best man at Jas's parents' wedding.
•And one of the first people to hold Jas after she was born. He was afraid he'd drop her or something and in awe of how tiny she was.
•Loves that little girl SO much, but when her parents died...he was in no position to be taking care of her. Not with his worsening depression and even worse alcohol dependency. So he signed over custody of her to Marnie, who was more of a mother figure to him than his own mom ever was(In my head, Marnie is Shane's mom's older sister).
•Used to spend summers on Marnie's farm as a kid. It was a nice break from his home life and gave him things to do.
•Was living with Marnie and Jas for about 6 months when Farmer moved to Pelican Town.
•It was his idea to pay rent, because he'd rather eat his shoe than feel like more of a burden than he already does.
•Listens to predominantly rock, but secretly knows the words to a lot of pop songs thanks to Jas.
•Lets Jas paint his nails or put makeup on him. Will wear the nail polish until it flakes off, no matter the color or glitter content.
•Has an armband tattoo of fairy roses around his bicep. For Jas, obviously.
•Definitely friends with Emily (they swap bird facts and just vibe) and and considers Sam a work friend(absolutely talk shit about Morris when not talking about music). He just seems to attract bright, friendly people lol
•Not a people pleaser by any stretch of the imagination (there's a reason he stocks shelves instead of being behind the counter at JojaMart), but loves making the people he cares about happy.
•Him being standoffish and prickly is definitely a defense mechanism. Can't get hurt again by losing someone if you never get close to them in the first place, right?
•Can tell when it's gonna rain because his bad knee starts hurting. When Emily teasingly calls him clairvoyant, he goes into a spiel about the scientific evidence that the drop in barometric pressure affects joints and it's not magic. It's basically an inside joke between them.
•Swears like a sailor but tries to censor himself around the children. So "sugar" and "fudge" and "son of a biscuit". Lot of food words lol
•Walks quietly. Accidentally scares people all the time because he just "appears out of nowhere".
#stardew valley#shane stardew valley#stardew valley shane#sdv shane#stardew shane#headcanon stuff#i have a lot of thoughts about the sad chicken man#and a lot about his relationship with my farmer oc#lol

Ghosting
Mike Schmidt x Fem!Reader
Summary:
Mike has been in love with you for as long as he can remember. For about as long as the two of you have been best friends. He always thought he would have more time to work up to confessing those big, dangerous feelings for you - until something more dangerous swooped in and stole any time he had left with you.
Mike Schmidt x Fem!Reader. Star-Crossed Lovers. Pure Angst. Set during the events of the movie (and features spoilers for the plot).
Word Count: 3,700
Horror Characters Masterlist | AO3 Link
Full list of warnings and author's notes below the cut.
Warnings: this fic contains major spoilers for the film - so if you haven't watched it yet and you're just here for Josh Hutcherson being sad and beautiful (and if you want to watch the film unspoiled) be warned; this fic does use Y/N; this fic is almost pure angst - the beginning is fluffy, but that only exists to make the angst hurt more; this fic does not have a happy ending; hurt, no comfort; this fic has mentions of Mike's past traumas and him having symptoms of PTSD; the reader is a mother figure to Abby; Mike refers to the reader as his 'wife' (in his mind, not in dialogue); Mike is in love with the reader (and it's implied that she knows this/can sense his feelings) but he doesn't get a chance to actually confess to her and they aren't in a romantic relationship at any point during this fic; (uh, kind of spoiler for the fic but this was in the prompt/request) - major character death: the reader character dies after being stabbed by Springtrap/William Afton/The Yellow Rabbit (gotta love fnaf - when a character has that many names); mentions of blood; descriptions of violence - descriptions of the fight between Afton and Mike, descriptions of the reader being stabbed by Afton; Abby is there to witness the reader's death; idk what the other warnings are aside from major angst - this will be an emotional gut punch. Anyway, please enjoy it lmao.
A/N: The title of this fic comes from the song Ghosting by Mother Mother. I was listening to different songs trying to pick a title, and I really like how this one fits. How their romantic love was like a ghost in their lives - not discussed, but felt between the both of them, and after she's gone, she becomes a ghost in his life.
...
Mike woke up to the smell of pancakes.
Typically, mornings were his least favorite time of day. Seeing as he was the kind of person who didn’t sleep well, didn’t sleep at all, or found himself consumed by nightmares when he did - most mornings, he was too tired to comprehend the world around him. Mornings were a chaotic mess for him as he tried to pull himself back from the brink of insanity while operating his sluggish body with far too little energy until he got some coffee into his system. He came to resent mornings, as for him, they existed only in a dreadful haze.
And he rarely ate a proper breakfast because of it. Most of the time, his ‘breakfast’ consisted of a large cup of coffee and a few pieces of Eggo waffle that he would snag off of Abby’s plate going out the door as he scolded her for not finishing it all.
The second that the pleasant smell of freshly cooked food reached his nose, his stomach growled.
Through the sleepy fog of his brain, hearing voices - multiple voices - coming from down the hallway, he realized that it wasn’t just Abby and some muffled cartoon characters from the TV.
“Which one?” Abby posed, her voice bright and curious as ever.
“Personally… I like the red sweater. It matches the red laces in the shoes you picked,” You replied, raising your voice slightly to be heard over the sizzling of the pan.
You were helping her pick out her clothes. Abby would have never wanted Mike’s help on the subject. So often she scoffed at him if he suggested that he could help her put her hair in a ponytail or if he told her that she should put on a jacket if it was cold outside. But she asked you for your advice about clothes because she admired you. She thought you were pretty, as she had told Mike on multiple occasions (not so subtly hinting that he should date you).
Mike heard footsteps thundering down the hallway as Abby rushed to her room to get dressed, likely carting along the clothes you had helped to pick. He distantly wondered how you had gotten into the house before he was even awake.
And then, he remembered - a few weeks ago, he had given you a key to his place.
It was something that had come after he had accidentally locked his own set of keys in the car, his mind jumbled and forgetful after not having much sleep the night before. And with the evening ticking on and the takeout you had picked up for the three of you quickly getting cold in your hands (everyone eager to simply get into the house and eat) - Mike had been hit with the realization that any solutions to unlock the car - the spare key, a metal coat hanger, a phone to call a mechanic - were all locked in the house.
So he had hoisted Abby in through her bedroom window (after scolding her for not locking it) and gotten her to unlock the front door. And shortly after that, he had given you a house key, because generally, you were better with things like that.
You were much more organized - your mind a clear, calm palace compared to the chaos that Mike often found himself swamped in. You were someone who worked incredibly well under stress, and that was why Mike valued you so much in his life. Right from a childhood where the two of you had pulled pranks together and he had been copying your homework, to the time he had leaned on you during the initial stress of Garett’s disappearance - up until now. When he was a messy, disorganized adult who still needed you far more than he was ever willing to admit.
It was just one of the many reasons he admired you so much. You took care of him in ways he couldn’t even put into words.
He smiled to himself as he heard more of your chatter with Abby. Previously, he had remarked that the key was for ‘emergencies only’ - but he couldn’t bring himself to care all too much about the breach of that rule as he tumbled out of bed. Especially when the smell of bacon also reached his nose as he walked to the bathroom.
It was when he was pulling on his pants that he glanced at the clock and realized he was already running on the late side. Not too late yet, but he had to put some urgency in his step. He had somehow forgotten to set his alarm, today of all days, when he would be meeting with a career counselor after the disastrous incident that got him fired from the mall.
He rushed down the hallway struggling with his tie, bringing his usual air of chaos with him. His heart instantly warmed at the sight of you and Abby - you had her sitting at the table, somehow so much more polite and cooperative for you, with a glass of juice beside her plate while you scooped freshly made pancakes onto it.
“You know, usually when most people break and enter, they don’t make breakfast,” Mike commented, his voice cool and jovial as he grew increasingly frustrated with his tie.
He thought he was forming the knot correctly, but it kept falling loose in his hands, causing a deep crease across his brows as he frowned at the fabric.
You giggled at this - both at his words and at his obvious struggle. You put the pan on the counter as you walked toward him, leaving Abby to pick up the bottle of syrup and begin thoroughly drowning her pancakes while you weren’t looking. You knocked Mike’s hands away in that wordless kind of care and began calmly tying his tie.
“Well, I considered going the traditional route, but there’s nothing worth stealing here.” You remarked, playing off the banter that was only built between the two of you after years of friendship. “Plus, The Breakfast Burglar has such a nice ring to it.”
“That makes it sound like you steal people’s breakfast.” Abby giggled.
“I would, if certain little girls didn’t drown their pancakes in syrup.” You replied, not bothering to look over your shoulder at her to know what she was doing. “That’s enough, Abs.”
She rolled her eyes harshly at this, but put the bottle of syrup down and picked up her knife and fork.
Mike grinned widely at this. You were more like a mom to her than their own mother ever was. And the fact that you knew her so well and took care of her without question always brought him joy.
His smile only widened when you smoothed a warm hand down the front of his chest, and he looked down to see a perfectly neat knot in the front of his tie. He felt a tingling swarm of butterflies in his stomach at your touch - something that threatened to spread through him and turn him into a dizzy, lovesick fool. Urgently, he needed to distract himself with something else.
His eyes shifted over to the side table, and he realized that his keys weren’t where he usually threw them down when he got home.
“Have you seen my-?”
Once again, you were two steps ahead of him. More organized than him.
“Keys.” You said, turning around to the counter and holding the key ring up on your fingers. “Your resume, formatted and printed.” You held up a folder that contained this as well. “Your wallet, and breakfast burrito.”
You gathered up his wallet and a warm bundle wrapped in tinfoil - his breakfast. The small notion of caring, the fact that you thought ahead to make something he could eat while rushing out the door - it caused that dangerous tingle to overtake his stomach once again. As you crossed the room and placed all the items in his hands, he had the intense urge to lean over and kiss you - he knew the domesticity was crippling.
You had been his best friend for years, you had helped him take care of Abby for as long as the little girl could remember. You felt more like a wife to him than anybody else ever would.
And yet, you had absolutely no clue how he felt about you. It would have felt like the most natural thing in the world for him to lean over and kiss you goodbye before leaving - just like a husband would do with his wife. But the two of you weren’t married. You weren’t even dating. You took care of him because you were his best friend. Because you had always taken care of him the way a best friend should.
“What would I do without you?” He said, knowing that the pure fondness in his voice could have easily given him away - if he didn’t talk to you like that all the time.
“Hmm… probably run around naked and starving,” You chuckled, shrugging as you walked back over to Abby and sat down beside her at the table. “Now get going. I’ll take Abby to school.”
“Have a good day, Abs.” Mike said, wishing his sister well - only to receive a mindless nod in reply before she went back to chatting with you about something, excitedly telling you a story involving one of her imaginary friends while you watched her with absolutely rapt attention.
He moved toward the door, but he found himself caught up in the sight of you. You were a hero in their little world as you rushed to save one of Abby’s drawings from some syrup that dripped off her plate. When you complimented the picture, she glowed with a smile he hadn’t seen in days.
That was a huge part of it, too. The love he felt for you that grew more agonizing each day. You brought out all the best parts of Abby, as well as keeping Mike himself from going truly insane.
For a single moment, he wondered if he should tell you. He wondered if he should just blurt out the words before running out the door, leaving you to simmer in it. Giving you time to think about it - to yell at him about it later.
It hovered on his tongue.
I love you. I’ve been in love with you for years.
But when you looked over and saw him still standing by the door, he locked eyes with you, and suddenly it was gone again, swallowed up inside of him like a nasty ache that would live there forever.
“Go, Mike! You’re gonna be late!” You said, your voice edging with casual laughter.
You picked up one of the couch cushions and swatted him with it as you walked by to get Abby a paper towel from the kitchen.
No. He would tell you some other time.
Perhaps he wouldn’t work up the courage to tell you at all.
…
He was going to die. He was going to be killed.
And he wasn’t going to get the chance to tell you that he was in love with you.
Strangely enough, that was the one thing Mike was thinking about as he laid on the cold, dirty floor of Freddy Fazbear’s condemned pizzeria. His stomach burned with searing pain as he received another kick from the large, intimidating monster that he knew only as the Yellow Rabbit.
He was going to die. He wouldn’t get to tell you how he felt. He would never get to see you ever again.
He was going to save Abby. He was going to make sure that she got out of here, escaped somehow. And you would take care of her. That thought was a singular comfort to him as he felt one of his ribs crack from the metal (poorly disguised by the foam and fabric around the edges of the suit) colliding with his torso.
“It’s beautiful, isn’t it?” The Rabbit mocked him. “I killed your brother, now I get to kill you. Symmetry, my friend!”
“Get away from him!”
Mike almost thought that the intense pain had caused him to hallucinate, or that he had hit his head on the floor hard when he had been thrown down - it couldn’t actually be you.
But he heard your voice, fierce and fiery as ever, defending him as you had so many times before. He struggled to get his head up to look, but he caught a glimpse of the Yellow Rabbit as the strange animal collapsed.
You had picked up one of the chairs, and brought it down over the Rabbit’s head, perfectly imitating something that would have been on Monday Night Raw. Except this was pure wood, not a collapsing chair, and all the pieces that splintered and fell in front of Mike as the Rabbit collapsed were because of the pure force of your hit. The fury of which you defended him and his life.
“Y/N!” Abby yelled your name from across the room.
She rushed into your arms as you stepped over the Rabbit’s prone body, and you swept her into a tight hug.
“Are you okay? Are you hurt? What’s going on?” You rushed to ask, brushing her hair out of her face to inspect for any injuries.
“I’m fine.” Abby told you. “Mike-” She then turned to her brother, frantic, and pulled away from you to fall to her knees by his side.
“Mike, what the hell is going on?” You asked, on your knees at his side just as quickly.
You turned him over on his back, inspecting him for injuries now - definitely not liking what you found.
Abby held his hand and he grasped it right back, his head still dizzy from the thorough ass-kicking he had just experienced.
You gasped when you saw blood leaking through his shirt. He grunted in pain when you pressed your hand into the wound, clearly trying to lessen that bleeding.
“What - what are you doing here?” He croaked out.
As much as he was thankful for you swooping in and saving him, he wished that you were safe somewhere else. Anywhere but here.
“Abby left her jacket in my car, and when I went to return it, I saw your Aunt Jane passed out on the floor, and - and, I just had a bad feeling.” You rushed to explain. “Somehow, I figured you’d be here.”
Mike hadn’t exactly told you the details of what was going on.
As close as the two of you were, he wasn’t sure if you would be entirely receptive to the concept of Abby being ‘friends’ with robots that were controlled by ghost children, and Mike somehow feeling connected to his own missing… dead brother by being in this place. He had simply told you that his new job was a night shift at a creepy old abandoned pizza place.
But of course, you were two steps ahead of him. As always.
You pulled back your hand to inspect the bleeding, and Mike groaned again.
“Should I call an ambulance?” You asked, and Mike shook his head furiously.
“No, we have to-”
We have to leave. You have to leave. You have to get Abby out of here, to safety.
All of those words dissolved on his tongue as he watched with utter shock. He wanted to scream as a big yellow hand clasped onto your shoulder from behind, and soon, a pair of large rabbit ears rose up from the floor.
He wasn’t down for the count.
Before he could speak, before he could move, Mike’s throat became choked as he saw your expression shift from the kind concern that you had worn for him many times - to pain. A brutal shock of your own.
The Rabbit had shoved his knife into your back.
A bright pool of red began to form in the middle of your shirt as the tip of the knife just barely poked through the center of your chest.
“No!” Mike shouted, rushing to sit up despite the pain screaming in his body.
He put a shaking hand to the middle of your chest as though it mattered, as though he could save you from this. He hated how warm your blood felt underneath his fingers.
Abby let out a scream beside him. Distantly, in the back of his mind, he felt a pang of guilt that she had to see this. That she would spend the rest of her life trying to get over this.
“It hurts, doesn’t it?” The Rabbit mocked him. “It always hurts more when you love them!”
The Rabbit let out a brutal laugh and then yanked his knife from your back, and you released a sharp breath as the Rabbit shoved you toward Mike, causing you to collapse into his lap in a bloody heap.
Somewhere far away, in another world, Mike heard Vanessa shouting from the doorway. Maybe he felt some sense of relief, thinking she would shoot the Rabbit down and this would all be over. But as the Rabbit’s attention was drawn away from him, he turned to where you were draped across his lap, the small pool of red on your shirt now soaked into a large puddle as you sputtered and some of that harsh bright red blood came out the corner of your lips.
“Mike-” You choked out, reaching for him.
“Tell me what to do,” Mike choked out.
His mind was miserably blank. He felt your fingers clutching at his bicep, like he held the key to saving you, like he could restore your life - but his mind was screaming and his chest collapsed in on itself.
You were always the one that guided him. He didn’t have an idea if you didn’t plant it in his head first.
“Y/N,” Abby sobbed.
“It-it’s okay.” You told her, struggling, gurgling, choking on your own blood. You took your grip off Mike, extending the hand weakly to her, and she took it. “It’s g-gonna be okay.”
She let out another harsh sob, and Mike felt his lungs fill with stone.
“Tell me what to do,” He said desperately, not realizing how thick his own voice was, how close he was to breaking down. He ran a trembling hand over your face, brushing away some stray hairs - he hated how cold you felt to his touch. “Please, tell me what to do.”
He thought you might suggest some first aid. An ambulance. Tell him where your car was so he could carry you there, cart you away, get you to safety.
“You-re g-gonna take c-care of her-r.” You told him, shifting your eyes distinctly from him toward Abby, giving her hand a squeeze. “You’re gon-na m-make it ok-ay.”
“Y/N.” Abby cried, thick tears spilling down her cheeks.
“Abby. You’re gonna b-be s-strong.” You grinned at her - your teeth were covered in blood, and it looked as menacing as it did fond. “You’re g-gonna be good for-r M-Mike, right? My little a-artist.”
Abby nodded, more tears leaking from her eyes.
And then, with some gears turning in her head, these words seemingly having triggered some line of thought, she looked up and spotted something across the room. She muttered something about the drawings and leapt up before Mike could stop her. He didn’t have the strength to chase her - he only hoped that she was leaving, escaping while the others were distracted.
When he looked back down at you, your face was falling more limp, and your shirt was somehow even more soaked in blood. His jeans were wet, and he couldn’t even process why. He pressed a hand to the front of your shirt, trying to cover the wound as you had done with him - his muscles shook even harder when blood gushed out between his fingers and seemed to leak from you harder, as if to spite him.
“Y/N,” He sobbed, leaning down. He cradled the back of your head and touched your forehead against his own.
For a moment, he dreamed about putting his lips against your own and bringing you back to life with a kiss. Like some stupid fairytale.
“Y/N, I-”
I love you.
“I - I know.” You croaked quietly, cutting him off. “D-don’t w-waste it on me now-w.”
He felt the puff of your last breath as it expelled out against his cheek - he felt you go completely limp in his arms.
“No-” He choked the word off in his throat, swallowing down sobs.
No.
He held you tighter against him, and feeling how cold you were, he let out a shuddering howl of a sob. He clasped your lifeless body against his chest - somehow believing that he could use the power of his grief to inject more life back into you.
The rest of it was a blur. The deadly snap of springlocks, Vanessa shouting at him to abandon you - to abandon your body as the building collapsed in on itself.
Mike didn’t truly break down until he was scrubbing his blood off your face in the bathroom sink that night. Seeing the red washing down the drain and knowing that it was the last traces of your life he was washing away - that was what truly did it. He collapsed onto the floor and stayed there for hours, sobbing more than he breathed, unable to move.
When his cries finally died down, Abby slowly crept in and asked him how he was feeling. He lied, telling her that he was feeling fine. She raised up a shy hand, offering him one of your sweaters that you had accidentally left on their couch a few days prior.
He thanked her and then finally peeled himself off the floor. He tried to make pancakes and Abby remarked that they weren’t as good as yours. It felt impossible, but her words made him smile. It was a small, dull smile - but it was a smile, nonetheless.
A few days later, when he finally fell asleep for the first time after you had died in his arms, it was with that sweater wrapped around his pillow, wafting your faded smell into his nostrils. It was the first time in years that he didn’t dream about Garett. The dream he had about you was just as haunting.
...
A/N: Also, I don't know if Afton's knife would actually be long enough to go through someone's back and pierce out the front of their chest but - one, it's a cool imagery, and two, the knife looks pretty large when compared to the scale of the Springtrap suit hands. Anyway, I don't actually care all too much if it's accurate or not, I had fun writing this lmao.

Okay so here’s my request for a blurb…💕
Think of that one scene where Tormund is talking to the hound about Brienne but instead of Brienne it’s the reader (fem Y/N). The readers a hard woman and hasn’t given in to Tormund because she’s secretly with Sandor.
So basically the hound being jealous that tormund is into his woman.
Preferably NSFW if it’s too long to get to NSFW no worries.
⭐️( PS: i love your writing for the hound, barely anyone else gets it right!)
Save Me A Bowl
"A pretty thing for a pretty thing," Tormund says, holding up a small flower, not yet bloomed. I raise my brows at the white bud, "do I look like a thing to you?"
Sandor Clegane x Reader x Tormund Giantsbane | 1k+ | cw: fem!reader, jealousy, whipped!Tormund, fluff?, casually implied sex, typos, etc.
A/N: UR NOT ABOUT TO CATCH ME SLIPPIN ON MY POST STREAK. Once I post this, I'd have finished all my requests which is such a slay for this girl 🥹🫶. It has been quite a while since I got this req tho, so I hope you enjoy it nonnie 🫶 also.... I haven't actually reached this part of GoT yet HAHAHAHAHAH it's fine tho I think I know enough to write it lmao
Sandor was not very affectionate, at least not in the noticeable kind. In truth, neither was I, though I suppose it's because you don't really have the time to think about such things when there was a war at hand.
However, I would say I didn't shy from checking on him, nor from asking him to accompany me. I definitely didn't shy from going out of my way to sit next to him, nor from leaning into him when it got too cold. The same could be said about him, I think.
In my opinion, my relationship with Sandor was rather obvious, though we never spoke about it, especially on the multiple accounts I've announced I'd be heading back to my tent and have the Hound immediately follow after me. If anything, I thought it was at least crystal clear what we were up to after the fact.
This was why I turned to Brienne when Tormund began harking nonsense. She and I had been huddled by the fire, finishing a bowl of soup when he came around.
"Is he trying to seduce you?"
"Don't look at me," says Brienne in between spoonfuls, "I am not the one he directs such gaudy poetry to."
I raise my brows as I turn back to Tormund who immediately smiles at me. I find myself sparing a smile back just to get his oration over with.
Ever since then, Tormund went out of his way to tire my ear with the sound of his voice, telling me tall tales of his life and his people. To be honest, I didn't mind it. In fact, I was partially entertained by some of his stories.
Showy as he was, he was harmless for the most part, and so I just let him do what he wanted. Eventually, his yapping would earn him a bowl to head and a threat to shut his trap. It worked out for me the men had much less patience for him than I did.
Little did I know, Sandor just about lost his patience with him.
I have to stop eating so I can get a laugh out of my system. The orange haired man laughs with me and concludes his story. He sighs, "you're the only fun one on this side of the fucking wall."
I shake my head and continue eating my food, "you mistake my tolerance of you as solidarity with your humor."
"Yet you laugh," Tormund raises a thick brow.
I shrug and swallow a mouthful before replying, "because you are fool."
"Fool enough to make you laugh," he says, standing from his seat beside me. He seems to look for something in his pocket.
I barely spare him a glance as he tells me, he's forgotten something, "I'll be right back."
Just as he runs off, I see Sandor and smile at him. He seems not to notice me and sits in a spot across from me. I immediately stand and come up next to him. I sit next to him, "took you a while."
Sandor ignores me.
I nudge him when he does not respond.
He side eyes me then begins to eat.
I raise a brow at his ignorance, "has something happened?"
He grunts then snaps, "why don't you ask that ginger fuck."
I frown.
"You seem keen of his company," Sandor glare, "you even laugh at his rancid jokes."
I furrow my brows.
Just then, Tormund comes back. He looks for me a moment, then beams when he spots me.
He runs up to me and Sandor; I feel Sandor stiffen against me.
"A pretty thing for a pretty thing," Tormund says, holding up a small flower, not yet bloomed.
I raise my brows at the white bud, "do I look like a thing to you?"
"The prettiest thing in the south," Tormund grins.
I release a breath.
I look over my shoulder and realize Sandor has stopped eating in lieu of glaring at Tormund. I'm about to speak, but I'm beaten to the chase.
"Fuck off, filthy minge," Sandor growls.
Tormund turns to him. His upper lip curls, "I wasn't speaking to you, smelly mutt."
Sandor stands and the two impose upon each other.
I immediately set my bowl down and step between them. I push them both on their chests, but neither budge. I hiss, "enough."
"You heard the woman," Tormund says, "get lost."
"I-"
"She was talking about you, you yapping fuck," Sandor snarls.
Before they can jump at each other's throats, I step back and yell, "ENOUGH, I SAID."
Sandor and Tormund stare at me.
"It's been a long day," I snap, "I'm not in the mood to soothe two whining bitches."
Tormund nods, "right!"
I narrow my eyes, "Tormund-"
"Yes?" he immediately retorts.
"- fuck off."
He opens his mouth but is too taken aback to say anything.
"You've been too busy picking flowers to notice that I'm with Sandor."
Tormund stares at me blankly.
"He's the one warming my tent."
He is aghast.
Sandor's face is blank, but he seems otherwise pleased as he sits back down and continues to eat.
The ginger steps forward and reaches out, "but I-"
"Keep your fucking hands to yourself," Sandor stands again, "if you know what's good for you."
Tormund glares at Sandor.
I sigh, "I told you you were a fool."
Tormund deflates. He walks off silently.
Sandor pulls me by the arm as he sits, sitting me down next to me, "good fucking riddance. Finally some quiet."
I roll my eyes at him, "you know," I pull my arm away, "this wouldn't have happened if I-"
"Fucked you harder?" he says in between chewing, "aye. I know better now."

There's a meme at the end of this one, too, so I hope you enjoy it
Anyway, as always, if you see any typos, no you didn't :^)
-------
Hawkins, Indiana, 1974
Steve looks the same, but his organs are new, he's a tiny bit taller, and he's having the same growing pains as his father. He stretches his fingers, wiggles his ears, and feels his liver chugging along like never before. He's doing better than his father, though; he's not too caught up in the taste of a new pancreas, at least.
He is, however, subject to scolding from his mother.
"I can't believe you!" Rose shouts, pacing in front of the console before coming to a stop. "Are you thick? You could've been seriously hurt!"
"Oh, I don't think that's very fair," the Doctor says, pushing his hair out of his face, something he's never been able to do before. "He's a teeny-weeny Time Lord, Rose. He regenerates just as good as me. Well, better even."
"That's not the point, Doctor! You've only got so many lives before you run out. Don't let Steve join you for the beginning of each one."
"Well, maybe we should remember how we got here in the first place," the Doctor says, "Someone thought, 'Oh, I'll just take a little peek-a-boo into the time vortex,' for the fun of it!"
After listening to them argue for a few more minutes, Steve slowly gets up and quietly makes his way over to the console. He places his hand on a dial, holding still but feeling it turn under his palm. "Take us somewhere safe," he whispers, glancing to where his parents are holding a staring contest that could end in them kissing or shouting.
Steve feels the TARDIS hum around him, agreeing with his suggestion, and the engine kicks to life. "What?" the Doctor asks, looking around before spotting Steve at the console. "Hold on a minute, who said you could send us anywhere?"
"I didn't turn anything," Steve says, innocently looking up at his parents. "Maybe the TARDIS got tired of your arguing, too."
As though agreeing with him, the TARDIS makes a particularly loud whoosh as it jerks and nearly sends Rose off her feet. The Doctor catches her easily, an arm around her waist, but stumbles himself. "Oh, blast, this body is scrawny," he says, clenching his jaw as he grips the console to keep himself upright.
"I'll say. You're likely to stab me with an elbow there," Rose replies, her voice more amused than anything else, and Steve quickly looks away before he's subjected to the gross goo-goo eyes his parents start making at each other.
When the TARDIS finally comes to a stop, Steve barely waits before rushing to the doors. He hears his parents shout after him, but he throws one of the doors open without a second thought, an excited grin forming when he sees familiar trees and a familiar playground. It's been a few months for him, long enough to be an entirely new person, but he has no clue how long it's been for Eddie.
Maybe only a day has passed. Maybe a week. Maybe fifteen years. Well, he doubts it's been fifteen years. The playground doesn't look like fifteen years have passed. Either way, he looks over his shoulder at his parents. "I'm gonna go play now!" he says, letting the door slam behind him as he runs out.
He's only more excited when he immediately finds Eddie. It's odd, because most humans just look alike to him, other than his mother, of course. They're all kind of shaped the same and none of them feel like time and space; they're boring, completely untouched by and unaware of the greater universe beyond the molecules of stardust that formed them.
But Eddie is different. Eddie's hair holds red space and his fingers scatter time when he moves. Eddie's words drip with galactic dust and meteoric currents. His eyes are the brown of T'Lochlor royal jewels and contain the sparks of planetary births. His smile curls with the essence of alternate dimensions and black hole gates.
Steve tried explaining it to the TARDIS once, figuring she was the most likely to know what's so different about Eddie. The only thing she'd been able to tell him is that, somewhere in the future, Eddie would be destined for tragedy and stars. She wouldn't say (or simply didn't know) what order they would be in, but Steve decided to focus on the stars.
He rushes over, his smile wide as he gets closer to where Eddie is sitting on a bench, watching the playground with a slight pout and a cast on his right leg. "Eddie!" he shouts, practically tackling the boy in a hug when he's close enough.
"Stevie?!"
Steve pulls away, hopping onto the bench and settling next to Eddie. "Yep! Hi."
"Dude, it's been so long!"
"Oh," Steve says, frowning slightly as he looks Eddie up and down. They still seem to look the same age. "How long?"
"Like three years. Where were you?!"
"Uh, traveling. My parents go all over the place," Steve explains, figuring it's not exactly a lie. "Anyway, what happened to your leg?"
Eddie blinks, looking down at his cast before pouting again. "I broke it in P.E. cuz the coach made me play soccer," he says.
Steve doesn't quite know what P.E. is. Or soccer. But he gets the main point: Eddie can't play because his leg is still healing. "How come you're still here then?" he asks.
"Better than being home."
There's something weird about Eddie's words, but Steve doesn't ask him about it. His mother has told him that, sometimes, you just shouldn't pry into people's home life. Even if you care, it could make them angry or upset. They'll share when they're ready.
"Oh," he says, moving closer to Eddie on the bench until their shoulders are touching.
"Tell me something cool," Eddie says. "Where did you and your parents go?"
Steve thinks for a moment. He already told Eddie about being an alien, but is he allowed to talk about the time travel stuff? Is that too impossible to believe? Maybe he'll just ease Eddie into it. "Uh, we went a lot of places," he says, swinging his legs, "Oh, like this city where they have a super big hospital and the doctors are all cat-people."
"Why'd you go there?" Eddie asks.
"I died, kind of, and Mom wanted to make sure I was okay, even though Dad promised her I was. And Dad died, too, but he's done it a few times, so he's better at it than I am. Anyway, Mom was going crazy with worry, so Dad brought us there to get me checked out. Clean bill of health, according to the doctor."
Eddie stares at him for a while. "You died?" he finally asks, his voice sounding a little strained.
"Yeah, but not really. I mean, my people regenerate instead of die. So, like, my current body can't survive, so I pull on time and space to make myself a new one, one that can live as long as I need it to."
"Oh, right, cool, that's not confusing," Eddie says, huffing as he glances away. He swings his legs a few times before asking, "What happened?"
"Mom looked into the TARDIS's heart, absorbed the time vortex and became Bad Wolf to save us. If she stayed like that, she would've burned up from the inside out, so Dad kissed her to draw the time vortex out. He started to regenerate, but the backlash of it was destroying the TARDIS. We would've crashed otherwise, so I absorbed some of his regeneration energy, and that burned all of my cells up, so I had to regenerate, too. Mine was a bit gentler than Dad's, though, so it didn't cause much damage."
"I feel...even more confused."
Steve smiles at him, holding out his hand. After a few seconds, Eddie takes it, and Steve squeezes once. "That's okay. Alien biology is weird. Like, I think it's weird that you've got an appendix. You don't even need it anymore."
"What did we need it for before?"
"Something digestive, I think," Steve says, waving his free hand dismissively, "Dad knows more about that stuff than I do."
Eddie nods, looks down at their hands, and then looks at the playground. "Your parents sound...really great, Stevie," he says.
There's something in Eddie's voice that makes Steve hesitate. He bites the inside of his cheek, hesitates for a moment, and then scooches a little closer. Maybe telling Eddie about the time travel thing will make him smile again; maybe it will take that weird hurt in his eyes away for just a few minutes. "You wanna see something cool?" he asks.
"Sure," Eddie mumbles, looking over as Steve reaches into his back pocket and pulls out a phone from 2046. It looks totally clear, but the glass panel on the back is frosted, keeping people from seeing what's on his screen.
"What kind of music do you like?" Steve asks.
"Usually whatever my mom listens to," Eddie says, shrugging as he watches Steve tap on the glass in his hand. He jerks when the screen lights up, showing a bunch of tiny squares across it. "What's that?"
"A phone."
"Uh, nope, no way, phones are, like, attached to walls and stuff. They plug in. They're, you know, bigger, and stuff. And they aren't made of glass."
"It's, uh, a future phone. From the future. Many, many years in the future."
Eddie snorts, bumping their shoulders together. "Time travel isn't real, Stevie."
"I'm an alien. I just told you about a city with cat-people doctors. Time travel is the unbelievable part?" Steve asks.
They stare at each other for a few minutes, Steve waiting patiently as he watches disbelief fade into realization in Eddie's eyes. "Holy shit," Eddie whispers, his eyes getting wider as he looks down at the phone. "Where's your time machine?"
"Across the street. That blue box over there. My parents are inside."
"How did I miss that?"
"It's got a perception filter," Steve says, repeating his father's words easily. "So people's eyes just...slide over it."
Eddie slowly nods and looks back at Steve's phone. "I, um, my mom likes David Bowie."
Steve nods and looks up David Bowie music videos.
----------
Despite thinking Steve might hang around this time, that he might not disappear from Eddie's life like last time, that's exactly what he does.
He introduces Eddie to music that won't exist for decades, to bands like Green Day and Lovejoy and some singer from another planet called Ln'ra. Their voice makes Eddie's brain prickle between his ears, his heart lurching in his chest with the desire to sing the way they do.
Steve holds Eddie's hand the entire time, a gentle breeze passing over them, their heads leaning against each other. Music plays surprisingly clear from the piece of glass Steve insists is a phone. Time seems to slow down for a brief while, and Eddie forgets all about the world for a while.
He forgets about his mom crying. He forgets about his dad shouting. He forgets about the dull ache in his leg as the bone mends itself. He forgets about everything, and it's the most peaceful and relaxed he's felt for months.
And then the sun is setting, dipping beneath the trees and splashing the sky with oranges and pinks and reds. Steve sighs when he sees the colors, lets the music video play to the end, and then turns of his phone and slips it into his pocket.
"I've gotta go," he says, standing up from the bench but still holding Eddie's hand.
Eddie doesn't fight it, even though he wants to, because something tells him Steve can't stay. Something deep in his mind tells him that he won't. Not yet, at least. Because Eddie is sure, at some point, Steve is going to stay.
Or Eddie will stay, because he's technically walking away, too, right? He's not exactly begging to follow Steve wherever he goes, because he can't. He has a mom, a dad, an uncle, guitar lullabies at night and surprisingly good waffles in the morning, some friends at school and a group project that needs turning in.
So, neither of them can stay. Not right now, at least. But maybe next time. Eddie hopes---as he watches Steve push open the door of that weird blue box and wave one last time before going in---that one of them will get to stay sometime soon.

patching you up
blade x injured!gn!reader
genre - fluff
summary - blade patches you up after you got injured while fighting mara.
cw!: mentions of blood + injury, soft-ish!blade, ooc blade?, mention of blade's past life which idfk how it works lmao I should be paying attention to the storyline asjdnb, swearing, mutual pining
note - god damn. soft!blade is living in my head rent-free fr, can't get enough of him <33 I'm not usually an edgy-emo-boy fan but ig blade's just built different 💪💪
˗ˏˋ ★ ˎˊ˗
With each painful cough, more and more thin splatters of blood painted your mouth crimson.
It hurt. A lot. You didn't expect it to hurt nearly as bad as it did when you charged in to fight the Mara that was attacking some people that were making their way through Cloudford, but the spear that their captain had used to stab through your side was probably coated in some sort of poison, because with every sluggish step you took, you felt your body break little by little. Eventually, you collapsed onto the cold ground - your torso was numb and soon your arms and legs would be as well.
Well, at least you were going to die somewhere pretty. The sunset glimmered through the leaves of thin trees growing from large pots, which were scattered across the various bridges of the district. Starskiffs drifted lazily across the sky like regal ships on the high seas and the last thing you heard before you closed your eyes for a while was the sound of crickets and footsteps fading in.
˗ˏˋ ★ ˎˊ˗
"Finally fucking awake."
A harsh voice came from your side as you opened your extremely tired eyes, which were met with dim but warm lighting and a dark wooden ceiling.
"Can't believe you got into this mess," the voice continued as you felt something tightening around your waist. "Didn't think that you'd be so stupid."
His face flashed in your hazy mind and you tried to sit up. "...Blade, I-"
"Don't move. You'll make it worse."
Hands. Ice-cold, gruff, but gentle hands pushed you back into your previous position by your shoulders, and you felt the tightening feeling again shortly after.
"What are you doing?" you whispered, then coughed again. Your throat was so dry - it felt like you haven't drank in decades, and with each cough you swore that your lungs were going to fly out of your mouth at the sheer force.
"Fixing you, obviously."
You raised your neck to try and catch a glimpse of your wounds but saw only the top of Blade's head, his raven hair tied back in a low ponytail. He was bent over your side, and just as you lowered your head back to the pillow a sharp bolt of pain shot through you, making you hiss and wince.
"That hurt!"
"It'll pass," he replied almost too casually. "Deal with it."
An uncomfortable pause ensued, during which you finally figured out that he was bandaging your torso up. You'd never expected anyone to find you back there, much less a Stellaron Hunter that you'd only interacted with five or six times, but thank the Aeons that at least someone did. But you did think it was strange that he was doing this for you, because from all your two-or-three-word conversations, you were sure that he wasn't the type to help an almost complete stranger. In fact, you'd think that he would be the one to cause these injuries in the first place.
While you were staring up at the ceiling in deep thought, Blade was lowkey kind-of admiring your skin. You weren't going to look down at him again anyway, it seems that you'd learned your lesson, but that just allowed him to eye your softness in more detail. This was his chance - he'd been admiring you from afar ever since you first met, and he wasn't about to let this opportunity to see what you looked like close-up pass.
Before he knew what he was doing, Blade's fingers reached out to lightly press onto skin that was near your wound, at which you hissed and leaned away from his touch.
"You sure that you're actually healing me?" you asked.
"Yes. I know what I'm doing, trust me."
He continued to press curiously but gently, making sure not to hurt you on purpose. Your skin was fascinating to him - it was soft, warm, while his was unforgivingly cold; yours had a fascinating shade of life about it and his didn't. This contrast was what made his eyes widen a little everytime he made physical contact with you, and he found small differences like these to amount to vast ones overall. Maybe this is what always made him think that you came from a different world entirely.
Blade then noticed that your hand was trembling by your side - the painkillers must be wearing off. He stood up from the chair beside the bed on which you were resting and reached for a couple pills and a glass of water on a nearby counter, moving them to the bedside table. His hands felt your back as he sat you up to administer the medicine.
You now saw where you were - from what you could tell, it was a small house or apartment somewhere. Dark wood covered the walls, ceiling, and floor, and tapestries and thriving plants littered the environment. You didn't know that he had a green thumb, but now that you did, you felt safer somehow - what if this cold, distant man was more human than you'd originally thought him to be?
His lithe, cold fingers brought you back to reality as they rested under your jaw, pulling it open gently, and your eyes focused on his admittedly quite handsome face again. Crimson eyes, the color of a blood moon, stared intensely at yours in avid concentration before travelling back to his other hand, which was now lifting a glass of sparkling golden liquid to your lips. There was a certain reverence of sorts glimmering in his expression, and this was accompanied by the fact that he was treating you like he would a glass flower. Your lips finally met the rim of the glass and when you finally tasted the elixir, you sighed.
It was cool and sweet, a refreshing sensation that battled the humidity of the room and the pain in your side. You drank the entire glass with ease and after Blade set it down on the bedside table, he wiped away some stray droplets of the shining liquid with a rough thumb.
That was it - Blade had become an entirely person just now. You could see it in his eyes and feel it as he breathed: this was not the same person who happened to be walking by a person on their deathbed and had enough pity in their secluded heart to heal them. He treated you like an old friend or a partner, perhaps, by taking you in.
"You'll experience drowsiness soon," he mentioned, "don't feel like you can't sleep. I won't leave you."
You laughed lazily in return, already feeling the effects of the painkillers. "So you can murder me in my sleep?"
"...I can leave-"
"No, no, I'm just kidding."
You sigh and relax into the pillows beneath you as Blade lowers you onto your back again. His gaze lingers on yours for maybe a second too long but he pulls away, preferring to sit down in a chair by the bedside and stare out at the scenery surrounding the house.
Once your eyes close and your breaths become quiet, he gives it a couple seconds to make sure you're asleep before softly starting to hum. It's an old tune from his past life, one which he used to smith to, and as midnight moonlight begins to stream in through the window, it veils your calm face in a hazy, shimmery glow that rivals even the smoothest of satins. He reaches a hand towards the apple of your cheek, cradling it in his palm as he sighs, a faint smile dancing on his lips.
"You're gonna kill me someday."

Warning(s): None, unless pregnancy is a warning but there shouldn’t be any (possible use of “baby”), not proofread lmao
Genre: Fluff
“Hurry your ass up already,” a gruff voice grumbled in annoyance to your right, “I’m almost finished Kats hold on,” you replied to his complaining while rubbing a lip scrub on your lips.
“Yer takin’ too damn long,” he shuffled scooting up higher on the bed and fixing the book's posture that laid in his hands, “Baby I’ll be in there in like five minutes, calm down.” you hear him grumble something along the lines of “make it two I'm tired,” while wiping off the scrub you quickly gloss your lips with a lip oil and make way to the bedroom.
“Took you long enough,” he teases at you, “Mhm, y’know you coulda’ went to bed without me right?” wine-colored eyes bore into you, “Just shut your ass up and cuddle with me,” he said this time except his voice was much softer, almost whisper-like. “Mkay baby,” you shuffled on the bed and into your rightful spot beside him and snuggled yourself under the sheets, “Whatcha readin?” you peered up over his forearm and caught a glimpse of some of the words and you could tell that whatever book his picked up off the shelf was angsty and romance-like.
“J’st some annoying shit, girl wants the guy, the guy wants the girl but the guy is fuckin around on other girls she’s j’st sittin' there waitin’ for him to notice her.” “Oh wow, seems like the guy can’t make up his mind,” you hum in response.
“He can’t make up his mind for nothin’ and it’s fuckin annoying if you want the girl j’st say so.” he grumbles while flipping the page, “Sounds like a certain someone I know,” you hum once more against the bulkiness of his arm. “How was work today?” you peer up at him through fluttering lashes and red blossoms across his cheeks, “Same ol’ same ol’” You look at him disappointingly expecting more details from him, he sighs and places a bookmark in the page he was reading and slides down from the headboard and shuffles beside you.
“Bastards wanted to wait until the dumbass villain got some hostages to call us out, got the hostages to safety, and blasted the dumbass all the way to hell, came back, and had to drown in paperwork, overall another day as I told you.” he breaths in your face.
“How was yours?” he leans in closer, faces only centimeters away from yours. “ Same ol’ Same ol’ ” you mimic and turn the other way, “Details sweetness, details.”
He wraps an arm around you and pulls you snugly against his chest. “Okay well, after you left I heated up the breakfast you made me and then I did some laundry and got rid of any socks that had holes in them or just didn’t have a match, also cleaned out your spare gauntlets; sweat and oil were starting to clump up in them.
Then I cleaned our room, then the nursery, and afterward I cleaned the rest of the house starting from our bathroom and worked our way down, made sure the kitchen and living room were sparkling too.” you proceed to ramble, “What’d I tell you about doing to much work?” Katsuki seemed slightly annoyed at how much work you were putting on your pregnant body.
“Baby I’m not just gonna sit on my ass all day doing nothing while you risk your life,” you frowned at him, “At least take it easy alright? Don’t need ya callin’ me because you can’t get up or some shit.” he grumbled pulling you closer to him and rubbing his hand over the roundness of your belly, “Mmm okay baby I’ll start taking it easy ” you mumble, “You better,” he grumbles into your hair and you giggle in response.
“I have an appointment next Tuesday for an ultrasound, think you can make it?” you’re whispering now, opting to go for the more silent route as you feel your husband's breath become slower and more even, “I’ll see what I can do,” his words make you smile because although they don’t sound promising, you know he wouldn’t miss out on the chance to see how his child's progressing inside of you.

i cant go to sleep until i release the thoughts so here they are. im sorry if this is a bit more nonsensical or rambleish than my other ones, im very very tired but anyway
this is going to be a bit upsetting for the lovey-dovey sunshine and rainbows crowd but people give red guy and duck WAYY too much credit when it comes to their relationship (or at least how it used to be) like they DID NOT //start out// functional AT. ALL. they used to go together like a car and a tree. and honestly this makes them even more interesting
They’re both insecure in different areas, and they react differently to these insecurities as well. from what ive gathered, red guy dislikes how “odd” he is. he tries to act bitter and uncaring about everything and everyone, either to fit in with the other red things, or to keep himself distracted or distanced from the world hes stuck in. he distances himself from his friends as well. this is a horrible contrast with ducks outward and open love of his friends (despite how horribly he treats them lmao but i digress) duck reveals in the family episode that despite loving himself, he wants other people to love him too. duck is not necessarily insecure in himself, hes the best one after all, but he does feel very lonely. he feels like nobody loves him as much as he loves himself, like the only person he truly has is himself because nobody else is willing to love him. this obviously makes him feel very alone. this is why red guys denial and dismissal of his friends hits ducks insecurities harshly and directly, even if its not intentional.
once i got to the fridge scene during my first watchthrough i was very confused. firstly because i was utterly flabbergasted that they were gay for some reason (i had never even considered it), and secondly because ducks reply caught me off guard. duck is a very full-of-himself character. so why would he be surprised to find out someone likes looking at him? shouldnt he reply with something like “well yeah duh you big stupid idiot im the prettiest and the best etc etc”?? well i understand now why duck reacted that way. he doesnt get many compliments from anyone but himself, probably talking in the mirror. and he ESPECIALLY hadnt gotten many compliments from red guy at this point. red guy denied being his friend very adamantly. EVEN AT HIS FUNERAL. HIS FUNERAL!!! and yes red guy does realize he misses duck eventually, but duck isnt even there to see it, and when he comes back he finds himself literally replaced?? (like.. red guy ur fumbling so hard right now. fumbling straight into a divorce. and ur not even married yet man. but anyway, back on topic)
slowly throughout the series red guy starts being more open, and whether he realizes it or not his whole uncaring act isnt that good to begin with. my favorite small detail during the funeral is that red guy calls the plates “our plates” without even realizing it, right in the middle of denying his best-friendship with duck. like dude who do you think youre fooling other than yourself!?
with all of this considered, despite red guys poor performance of denial, it’s perfectly understandable for duck to be surprised when red guy openly confesses his honest emotions. an up-front confession of feelings is not something red guy ever wants or allows himself to do, so duck was probably confused as hell.
my favorite part of this scene is how red guy is looking away when he says it, still clearly embarrassed but saying it anyway. this is a HUGE deal for his character. it was a character development that had been slowly growing throughout the tv series, and by episode six i think it was as close to completion as its ever been. he does pull the whole “its fine just ignore it” thing with duck earlier in the episode, but he does it more to calm him down in this context. the fridge scene confirms to me that red guy has almost stopped running, not necessarily from the house, but from his friends. he has finally let himself love them. hes finally let himself admit not just to himself, but to duck, that hes important to him.
this is why i think theyre so interesting, because these two characters are cynical assholes. that’s how becky and joe have described them at times. these characters are not the best of people, theyre both messed up people in a messed up and confusing world, so of course they wont be perfect. but thats the beauty of it. they dont want to hurt eachother, so they try their best to change. they try their best to fight against the cruelty of their minds and surroundings and let themselves love eachother even if only for a second, even if in the end it wont really matter
ok im going to sleep now goodnight

Your hands are for me to hold
So uhhh short twomp plargos fanfic made from the prompt 'hand holding'. This was like a game thingy I did with @machathecat where we write a fanfic using the same prompt. Anyways this isn't good like at all but I just wrote it for fun so yeah lmao :]
Oh and also tw for murder
***
The sky was pink and pretty. But it wasn't as pretty as Mr plant.
Mr plant, whom Argos has been in love with since he met him.
Mr plant, who wasn't the friendliest when he first interacted with Argos.
Mr plant, who has started to warm up to him.
Mr plant, who was now helping him hide a body.
Argos sighed dreamily. He was so worried before that Mr plant might not like him back, but now this restored hope in him once again.
They were both covered in blood, from the man's body. The man that Argos killed out of anger for being rude to him. He did feel a bit of regret, but now…seeing Mr plant helping him get away with murder, it was just so romantic.
After they finished burying the body in a forest, they started walking their way back home to wash off the blood from them. Mr plant hoped they wouldn't get caught by someone. He didn't want to bury two bodies in one day afterall.
Argos broke the silence between them, “Thanks for helping me, Mr plant!”
No reply.
Argos frowned. Why didn't he say anything back? Did he not want to talk to him?
“Umm… Mr plant–” Argos tried getting his attention–“I really appreciate you doing this for me.”
Mr plant shrugged.
Really? Just a shrug? He supposed it was at least better than getting no reply at all. But still…he wanted something more.
Argos kept trying to talk to him, but he just got no answer.
Suddenly, they heard something. There were sounds of police cars. They didn't know if they were searching for them, but if they saw them like this…covered in blood, they would be found guilty of murder for sure.
Mr plant grabbed Argos’ hand and ran to get to his house faster. It surprised Argos so much he couldn't think straight. His heart started beating out of his chest and he couldn't focus on anything else.
Mr plant was holding his hand.
His hand felt so natural in his hand. Like it belongs there and nowhere else. Argos wanted to intertwine their fingers together, but they were running too fast for him to do that.
After a while, they finally reached Mr plant's house. Mr plant suggested they both clean up at his house because Argos might get caught if he goes to his house to do it. Argos didn't complain.
Argos went to his bathroom and put the shower on, he scrubbed the blood from his body and clothes. It was hard to do it since the blood was already dry. But he didnt care, all he could think about at that moment was Mr plant. The absence of his hand in his was lonely.
His cheeks started to go red when he thought about that moment more. It was so exciting. Maybe it could even happen again in the future! Maybe he could kill another man so Mr plant can help him again. But then again, he doesn't want him to grow tired of him.
Argos hummed to himself while showering. It was a very productive day. His diary would be hearing all this afterwards.

Skipped the day yesterday because my PC died, but I’ll try to write more replies today!
Starting with the ones related to our recently posted drawings~ But there are also some about twst characters and ships: Malleus, Riddle, Sebek/Jamil and many many more.
hipsterteller asked:
*sees Azul and Idia making out* welp someone better take a picture
I’m pretty sure Jade and Floyd are already on it. Maybe Ortho too, but for more wholesome reasons than the tweels…
hipsterteller asked:
Dang it Kalim…
He just HAD to ask Jamil to come back as soon as possible!
Anonymous asked:
~ 🎵 There goes the vizier hauling ass, like always 🎵 ~
Lmao thank you for the mental image of Jamil racing through the streets of Silk City in his big-ass robes. Looks like he forgot to get the food though... Maybe he and Kalim could have some fish for dinner?
You’re welcome~ Poor Jamil, getting food from the store isn’t even his job, but he was nice enough to go, and for what? To race right back through the streets of Silk City in his big-ass robes 😭
If Azul, Jade and Floyd didn’t bring them a pizza this time, they’ll have to have fish for dinner…
Anonymous asked:
Jamil is gonna murder these people, he doesn't care if he gets in trouble. That reminds me, does the...oh who am I kidding, of course they knew Jamil is acting like a snake by using Kalim again.
Jamil is so sick and tired of them, it’s been 30 seconds and he is already done LOL
They probably haven’t seen each other in quite some time, and Jamil isn’t planning on doing his subtle-Kalim-seduction thing in front of these three, but I have a feeling they’ll still notice that there is something going on between them. They know a snake when they see one…
Anonymous asked:
We seen the mafia Octavinelle often visiting Scalding Sands, but what about the Shrouds visiting there since they are often with the mafia?
Oh Ortho would love to visit, but he doesn’t usually get to go with the Octavinelle trio and stays by Idia’s side; and Idia probably hates the idea of visiting Scalding Sands, because it’s way too hot, and Kalim and Jamil are there, and Kalim is annoying and Jamil is scary, and the whole thing is going to be awkward, what is this really, a college reuinon? Yada-yada, mumbling Idia noises.
But still, they’ll visit them at least once. Even if Azul isn’t persuasive enough, Ortho’s puppy eyes are going to break Idia’s will for sure.
snowblub asked:
Whenever I see a post of yours and I know it's yours btw I look at what's there then forget I'm following you then go up to press follow and then realise that I do follow you. Short memory struggles... The amount of times this has happened is a bit embarrassing ngl.
But at least now you know that you got someone who would follow you a hundred times if possible?? I just thought to tell you.
AHHH This is so sweet of you?? Thank you so much. The fact that my drawings give you an urge to press follow despire already following is such an amazing thing to hear! <3 <3 <3
Anonymous asked:
I made the mistake of showing a newer friend your twitter account, I did warn them...😭😭😭
Like yes I like you BEACUSE your problematic, someone has to speak for us :(
~Anon <3
Ohh, I hope you didn’t have a bad fight with them, Anon. Having arguments and even falling-outs with friends because of ship-related content is always unfortunate :(
We can only speak for ourselves, but if you feel seen/inspired by the fact that we have the audacity to post our problematic stuff, I’m very happy to hear that!! <3 Thank you for supporting us.
Anonymous asked:
I've also been thinking about how Malleus threw off the dom/sub radar, and I think it's funny if he throws off everyone else's radar too and even himself guesses whether others are doms/subs wrong like 90% of the time LOL that's how we got rollo & mal flirting with each other, both convinced the other is going to rail them later that night, only to be met with disappointment😔 it's okay boys, there are plenty of gargoyles in the sea....
Anon THIS! I COMPLETELY AGREE lol Especially with Rollo and Malleus; I don’t know if Rollo expected anything from Malleus (he was being a tsundere, that’s for sure), but Malleus clearly read the room in… his own way…
We like to joke that this happens because Malleus learned the art of flirting from Lilia.
Now I can’t stop imagining Malleus’ confused blinks when he learns about the dom/sub positioning of some of the couples.
Anonymous asked:
Do you think Epel would like Heathers?
I don't know, Anon, I think Epel wouldn't really get Heathers 😭 But he'll appreciate the fact that it's less "girly" and more intense.
Anonymous asked:
"azul is only hot when he's angry" anon here. i changed my mind. i saw the light. im a redeemed soul.
Ah Anon! It’s good to hear back from you and see that you are no longer a hater of Azul’s natural immeasurable sex appeal. I’m sure Azul would be very pleased to hear that (and sexy) <3
(But in all seriousness I do wonder what made you change your mind…)
Anonymous asked:
I don't know if he's ever expressed a desire to become one in canon, but occasionally I cone across fics and fanart that portray Riddle as a Prosecutor. Every time I end up imagining him as an Ace Attorney rival and then end up laughing because I picture Phoenix thinking 'I thought I was done with the Von Karmas.'
Anon, he fits the role of an Ace Attorney Prosecutor PERFECTLY, and he would be SUCH AN ANNOYING BITCH TO PLAY AGAISNT LOL We love Ace Attorney very much, so we also joke about Riddle being a prosecutor from time to time. I have at least one sketch related to this topic but we posted it on ko-fi.
Our go-to is usually to give Ace the Attorney role, not only because of his name, but also because him being confrontational with Riddle is always a fun thing to imagine.
Imagine Riddle’s angry sprites as a prosecutor… he’s even worse than some of the Von Karmas… at least he doesn’t use a whip I guess lol
Anonymous asked:
i saw this sebejami doujin on pixiv and Sebek is my favorite boy along with Ortho so, what do you think about their dynamic?
They’re intriguing! It’s always interesting when someone who isn’t Malleus gets Sebek’s kind-of-sort-of-approval (a very important achievement I know), and Jamil somehow managed to do it. Maybe it’s because he managed to sit through Sebek’s hours-long rant about Malleus’ grateness in that one vignette, but it honestly shows just how interestingly their personalities play based off each other. Jamil is constantly done with everyone’s bs, but he’s unfrotunately tolerant enough to take a passive role and listen. But he is also enough of a tease to enjoy Sebek’s “cute” and silly moments, like when he watched him almost fight a goat during the Glorious Masquerade event. So I feel like to him Sebek would be a massive pain in the ass (and let’s be honest, with Jamil – who isn’t?), but also have his surprisingly endearing moments.
But this is based on their interactions in the Glorious Masquerade event + that one vignette in which Jamil promised to listen to Sebek’s odes for Malleus lol
blackbutlerfandomnerddomain asked:
Do you have any headcanons of if it's revealed Lilia and Malleus are married or at least SHOULD be? Cause, again, the idea of Silver never questioning kisses and what not until NRC when they said I Love Yous and kissed in public and someone pointed it out is so funny to be
The thought has never occurred to me because to be honest, just like Silver, I never question anything that Lilia does lol
But I can picture some people from the NRC being confused about Lilia and Malleus’ relationship, because they’re definitely closer than just being friends… so while I’m not sure if they would think about them as a married couple(or who should get married), some people definitely think they’re banging lol
And Silver is very chill about it… if only these people knew the whole truth about Lilia’s relationship with both Silver and Malleus… marriage is the last thing that would come to their mind lol
blackbutlerfandomnerddomain asked:
Hot take: Deuce gives Jack boob-jobs aka when you put a boner between the pectorals aka breasts/boobs and either the person receiving would move against the chest or the one who's chest is being used would squeezed their chest together and bounce. Thank my cousin for this random headcanon, never needed to know this was a thing but here we are
This 100% should be a thing, and Deuce 100% should do that, because Jack deserves it!!
This also 100% wouldn’t be Jack’s idea, so… I’m looking at Deuce knowing that he has seen this before. What are you reading/watching in your free time, Deuce?

Gundham may be a lot of things, but most wouldn't know that being fiercely loyal to those he considered friends was one of them. He didn't seem like the person who even had friends, which was true in part, he didn't let himself have friends, too scared of growing close only to lose them in the end when they grew tired of him. It was why his term for friends was more so allies, people who he may not even personally like, but would protect and fight for nonetheless. Mikan was a sort of middle ground; some her antics and mannerisms frayed at his nerves, but he also couldn't help but want to protect the nurse. She might ask for pain and belittlement, but what bothered him was that people would take her up on the offer, like they were just waiting for a willing punching bag. It was why he had stepped between her and one of those undesirable people before he could even give it a second thought. One moment he was watching a boy belittle her, and the next he had that student by the wrist, icy hands gripped tight enough that one might swear they heard something pop as he glared down at the assailant. "Do not touch her." With a tone like that, deep and dark and sharp as steel, it was no wonder he called himself the Overlord of ice. He shoved their fellow student away by the wrist he had gripped so tightly, that glare only growing harder as he watched them stumble away with their arm pulled close to their chest. "Why do you invite such vile cretins to accost you so." It wasn't a question, he knew why. What he really wanted to know was who was it that battered her self esteem so low into the dirt that she'd do anything just to be acknowledged. A deep inhale, and a steadying breath out, the hand that had been holding their fellow student at bay being flexed to alleviate stiffening joints. "...are you alright?" //i know i said short and fluffy but then i got an Idea lmao
She was used to being other people's punching bag. She came to accept it and welcome it with open arms. Her mindset was that if they paid attention to her - any attention, good or bad - then she'd be fine. It meant they at least acknowledged she existed and that felt better than being forgotten and alone for the rest of her life.
So when Gundham stepped in and stopped the other student from putting his hands on her, she couldn't help but feel a little annoyed at first. She wasn't a damsel in distress! She had chosen to let this happen to her... Well, no, not really. She didn't like being the world's most pathetic doormat.
Gundham's anger made her shrink back, her ears felt warm as her face went pink and her eyes began to tear up. She hesitated to reach out and stop Gundham from going too far, with the way he was squeezing the other boy's wrist it looked like he might break it at any moment.
The other boy sneered at Gundham, holding his wrist close as he sulked off. He shot a nasty look at Mikan, as if promising to return at a later time.
Gundham's words hit hard, causing Mikan to sniffle and sob quietly. He was right - she really did just let people do whatever they wanted to her - but she needed it. She was addicted to the attention. She glanced up at him through bleary eyes as he asked her if she was okay.
"Y-Yeah... I'm fine," she replied softly. "Th-thank you."

yasss can I get vampire Welt for the Halloween event?
;; ꒰ NOTE/s ꒱🎃 oooo new headcanon that the astral express in this au is a vampire coven. continuation of this part. lmao yes this might just be a whole series atp
;; ꒰ WARNING/s ꒱🎃 n/a, i think.
You waited for a bus at the bus station. It shouldn't be too long until the next one arrived so you should be able to get to your friend's house quick. They were nice enough to let you come over and stay the night without explanation. You didn't even know how you were going to explain this to them. Surely they're going to think you were insane for talking about these strange creatures. No, you could only tell a half truth. There was only a certain extent that they'd believe in your words.
It wouldn't be too farfetched to just tell them someone broke into your house while you were away, right?
When the bus arrived, you spared no time to get on.
Oddly enough, there was only one person on board, an older man. The lights hanging above his head illuminated the bus. His brunet hair had a small streak of white, depicting his old age.
You sat down at the other side of the seats. Unfortunately this bus was smaller than usual and could not opt for a much farther seat from him. Hopefully he wasn't hostile.
A tired sigh escaped your lips, feeling awfully sleepy. It's been such a long night. You just wanted to pass out on a nice comfy bed after all these experiences with strange people.
"Excuse me," a mature voice snapped you out of your thoughts.
You turned to him, feeling anxiety creep up your spine. Oh no, was he also some kind of supernatural being?
"I wanted to thank you for tending to my companion's wounds. And to apologise for the fright this has caused you," he spoke with sincerity in his words.
Your eyebrows furrowed at this. "How did you know that...?"
"After my companion returned, he told me that you might be in danger so I had to go find you." He looked quite troubled by this.
"Who was that guy and why was he looking for your friend?" You asked him, hesitant. Should you be prying into this? Would you be in more danger the more you involved yourself?
Ugh, though technically just by going out of your way to do first aid on that guy, you already did involve yourself in whatever this was. Was there still a point to trying to escape it? Could you even trust this man to be kind to you?
"I'm sure you need rest right now more than you need answers," he told you. "I'll accompany you to make sure you aren't attacked on the way and hopefully the next time we meet, I'll be able to give you those answers you seek."
The bus had stopped and you realised this was where you got off so you left your seat to make your way to your friend's house. The older man came with you. He hasn't given you any reason to suspect him as dangerous so you just let him tag along. At least you felt safer with someone to escort you to your friend's.
"I believe this is as far as I go. You should be safe from this point on as long as you stay with your friend," the man told you, "I think it'd do you well to hold onto that pendant. It'll keep you safe."
You nodded, then realised something. "I didn't catch your name there."
He paused for a moment, then replied, "My apologies, that was a fault on my part. My name is Welt. I hope you stay safe, even if we may never meet again."
"You too, Mr. Welt," you told him and turned around to go to your friend's house.
When you peeked behind you, the man had disappeared into thin air.

!!!Yandere Genshin/Reader 2.5k Follows Mini-Event: Secret Penpals (Masterlist)!!!
cw: contains yandere themes, including stalking, possessive behavior, etc. do not engage if you’re sensitive to the topics mentioned. prioritize your mental health first, you matter.
Time remaining: █ days, █ hours, █ minutes (closed!!! please wait until Thoma delivers all the letters <3)
✧ Inazuma is currently holding another Irodori Festival and the Yashiro Commission and Yae Publishing House has a secret pen pal service going on... Perhaps you should write a letter and hand it over to Ms. Hina! Who knows, maybe you'll find another Paimon!
Possible Rewards: A new friend : )
“How is the list, Gorou?”
“Well, I got the names of some of the penpals. We got Always-So-Busy Sakabashira, Widower Momiji, A Headless Knight, Calx, and a couple more weird and whimsical names… There’s like… around 10 or something.”
“Ah, I see, Sakabashira is █████ isn’t it– wait, even Calx is joining? Isn’t he a Mondstadter?”
“Aren’t you one too? Now that you mention it, there’s a couple of foreigners joining this event– we even got someone from Snezhnaya.”
“Haha, where do you think Blue Eyes White Dragon could be from? Betting on Liyue.”
“Hmm… I have a hunch that they’re from Fontaine...”
“But what if they’re yokai, though?”
...
“... Do yokais play TCG?”
"... I know Itto does…"
[match-up event guidelines under the cut]
—-------
SALUTATIONS! Mx. Ansy here– thank you so much for the 2k follows! I don’t celebrate White Days so this will be the reason why this event exists. No clue why that happened, but for the celebration’s sake, here’s a mini event as my thanks!!! (Even though it’s long overdue since I’m at 2.5k hahahaha…)
Thank you to everyone that followed, liked, left comments (omg), reblogged, etc. ILYSM!!!! <3 (Don’t worry, I’m still working on the idol au ehe. I need you all to know about music composer!Tighnari’s mental fatigue.)
Here are the event guidelines and an example of how this works provided by “Ms. Hina” and “Fixer”!
Event Guidelines ✥:
NO NSFW MESSAGES. (Please remember someone is writing behind all this lmao. I’m asexual so my humblest apologies.)
Feel free to go nuts with your pen pal's name! No need to use the word “anon”. As long as you kept your identity a secret, you’re safe! There’s no real rule, just make sure it’s not longer than 6 words.
Why is six words the maximum? Well… My best friend, Fried Tofu With All The Frills, “suggested” that it’s better that way…
Remember who runs this event behind the screen. Expect stalkers, monsters, etc. to respond to your letter.
You don't know who your pen pal is. Don't name who the receiver of your letter is. This is luck-based, and if I'm feeling like a gremlin I might just send your letter to Reckless Pallad if you do this lol.
As the event name suggests: some might get villain NPCs & non-yandere character/s. Welcome back to another round of RNG if you aren’t already fricking tired from artifact grinding.
Only one penpal per person. No repeats. Every time I do an event, the yanderes are loyal.
Are you reading the guidelines? Good. Take note of this specific instruction or else I won’t add your letter to the event registration: greet your pen pal with a “Happy Irodori Festival!” or anything similar. That’s how I’ll know you’ve read everything.
Your letter could be around 200 words max but don’t feel forced to hit that threshold haha. Talk about whatever you want then send it in this blog’s ask box! I’ll pass it on to Ms. Hina or Fixer ♡
The response you’ll receive varies, but expect a minimum word count of at least 100 (some characters just won't write long). Hard to fit things with a single letter. Maybe your pen pal would be desperate enough to write 2 pages on their first reply. But don’t count on it. I’m trying my best to give out short replies to this event. The last idol event had 2k-6k word counts (when my plan was 1.8k max). This is me trying my best to exercise self-control lolololol.
Every letter is made on Canva. Huge shoutout to that website for carrying my SHS career and this event because I have S-tier garbage handwriting.
Also, a huge shoutout to @/watatsumiis! General inspired me to do this event, so please check his works if you want to read fluffy fics that’ll make you giggle! He provides such amazing brain rots, I swear. Unlike this gremlin right here, he’s wonderful and wholesome both as a writer and a person.
Well then, time for an example! Please copy Ms. Hina’s lead when you write your letter <3
Tutorial/Example ✥:
“Dear Secret Penpal,
Happy Irodori festival! My name is Miss Hina, it’s a pleasure to meet you. I know that festivals tend to make everyone exhausted, so whoever this letter is addressed to, I hope you’re taking care of yourself. Remember to eat and drink water regularly! Even when to be honest, I already know who you are. I’m not great at talking about myself, but if anything is troubling you, don’t keep it all muzzled up inside.

Just Beneath The Flames (Part 16)
Pairing: Billy Russo x Reader
Warnings: cursing, smut at some point probably lmao, zombie shit, typical canon violence. You know the drill.
A/N: Alright guys, this is the last chapter.
I’ll admit that I wasn’t planning on ending this story so soon and I feel pretty guilty, especially ending it without much warning. I know I’ll feel worse if I just leave it unfinished though. I’ve already got so many unfinished multi chapter fics that I haven’t gotten to finishing and people are always asking for updates. I know this way, I’ve at least wrapped it up a little so it’s not too bad. There’s always potential for me to come back to this story and add to it if I feel like it or if anyone had any ideas they wanted to throw at me to add in here.
I’m feeling a little burnt out with it if I’m honest. This story has been so fun to write and I’ve loved seeing so many of you love reading it, but for some reason, now my brain is having a really hard time with it. I have other stories I’ve started that have been itching at me so I figured it was best if I finish it off instead of forcing myself to continue and churn out shitty content.
The point of this rambling is to say that while this may be the ‘last’ chapter, I may go back to it at some point and do more so it’s not like 100% finished. And as I said, I’m welcome to ideas for it.
—-----------------
Day Fourteen
Your hand came up to stifle a yawn and you blinked tiredly as you walked beside Billy.
“If we go this way, we can get to the highway. It's worth a look,” he mused, looking over the map in his hands before he glanced over to you.
“Sounds good to me,” you smiled tiredly, rubbing your eyes a little. His concerned gaze swept over your face before he folded up the map, shoving it into his jacket pocket and wrapping an arm around your shoulder. Billy had decided to head to the highway instead of the original route planned, hopefully to find a car. You’d made it into Virginia now but it was a big place and you were still a while away. On foot, the journey would take you another few days but if you managed to find a car, you could cut it to just a few hours instead. You were pretty sure he’d decided on the new plan after seeing you shuffle around like one of the dead. It had only been two days since you left the cabin but traveling from sun up to sun down was really taking it out of you. You longed for the respite and safety of the tiny cabin. You missed sleeping beside him like that instead of the shifts taking watch like you had to do now, neither of you getting a full night sleep. It took almost an hour to get to the highway and it was very reminiscent of the one back by the old cabin. This one was smaller though and was slightly less jam-packed, a few of the dead stumbling around the derelict cars as they groaned.
“I've got them, you try the cars,” you murmured, giving Billy a wry smile before you headed off over to the roamers. You made quick work of them before you came back over to where Billy was trying to hotwire a car. If last time was anything to go by, you’d probably turn up with nothing. The cars weren't exactly in the best condition with the state they’d been left in and you had no idea if any of them still had gas left. You stood guard as Billy tried car after car, your knife poised and ready as you took care of any threats that came ambling your way so he could focus. The sound of an engine starting made your head whirl over to him as he sat up, climbing out of the car with a delighted laugh.
“Fuckin’ told you I’d do it,” he smirked as you walked over.
“Mhm, didn’t doubt you for a second,” you replied impishly and he snorted, leaning in to press a sweet kiss to your lips. It was something you were still trying to get used to yet it also felt like you’d done it a million times before.
“Come on,” he smiled down at you, pulling you over to the car. You slid into the passenger seat, your tired feet glad for the rest as he got into the driver’s side.
Your whole journey had been leading up to this moment, to finally see what awaited you at the safe house. You’d known what was at stake the entire time yet it felt far more real now as Billy drove there. You had no idea what you’d find. Maybe there wouldn't be anyone there at all or maybe the only person there was the person whose safe house it was. Or maybe some of the group would be there, others not making it. What if something happened to Sarah and the baby? What if something happened to the kids? The spike of anxiety hit you like a truck as you glared out of the window, trying to control your breathing. You weren’t even aware your leg was bobbing up and down restlessly until Billy’s hand reached over and stilled it. When you turned to him, he shot you a reassuring smile but you could see his own anxiety shining behind his dark eyes. Everything you were feeling, you knew he must be feeling tenfold. You’d grown to care for these people like family, but they were Billy’s family way before they were yours. You mustered your best smile for him, not wanting him to fuss over you when he must be feeling so much worse than you. The smile seemed to work as he seemed a little more relaxed before he turned back to the road.
“Hope they’ve got dinner goin’, I’m fuckin’ hungry,” he remarked ruefully and you knew he was trying to keep things light. Not wanting to touch on all the other scenarios that could happen when you got there.
“I did offer you some soup this morning,” you shrugged, giving him an amused look.
“Yeah, yeah,” he huffed playfully. You weren’t stupid though. He hadn’t eaten this morning and you knew he was anxious about all of this. Youd barely been able to eat yourself but you’d forced some soup down you because you knew you needed the energy.
“Why don’t you get some sleep?” he asked, giving you a soft look and you shook your head.
“Nah, I’m good,” you answered with a smile. You weren’t tired enough to sleep with your thoughts running so rampant and you didn’t want to leave Billy in silence on the drive there for a few hours. You knew nothing good would come of it. You tried to keep the drive light with conversion to keep both of your minds from wandering. You spoke about anything and everything. From stories from your time as a vet, to family stories that were more fun and lighthearted. Billy seemed content to listen and reply rather than tell any of his own tales but you had a feeling that most of his good memories were linked to the people you were trying to find so you didn’t mind him just listening to you. It was easy to talk to him and time seemed to fly by as he drove and before long, he was pulling down a dirt road through some trees.
“Should be at the end of this road,” he mused softly and you nodded, your whole body tightening in anticipation.
“Oh my god,” you murmured, sitting forward in your seat a little as your eyes widened. Billy seemed to be rendered speechless, not a smart-ass remark in sight. He pulled to a stop a little away as you both just gaped at what you could see.
The whole place was encompassed with large stone walls that were as tall as a house, barbed wire lining the top. There was a huge metal gate and what looked to be an intercom next to it. You couldn't see the building behind the walls but it looked more like a fortress than a safe house. It was way bigger than you thought it would be and at each corner of the walls, there were perch-like towers that would be perfect to take watch from or shoot if needed. You weren’t sure if the person who had this built was paranoid or maybe they had some inside knowledge of what was going to happen, but it sure as fuck seemed like it was perfect for a zombie apocalyspe. There even seemed to be what looked like wind turbines on either side. You both sat there for a moment as you looked at it before you both slipped out of the car. Billy walked around to you as you both slowly made your way up the dirt road, stopping a few feet away. You felt anxiety gnawing at you now it was go time and when you glanced over at Billy, his eyes were wide as they darted around. You didn’t want to push the intercom, knowing he needed to be the one to do it, he had to be ready.
“Guess it’s now or never, huh?” he asked, trying to smirk but it fell flat as his voice shook. You reached out and took his hand gently and he looked at you then, his face softening. “No matter what happens, I’m here,” you murmured soothingly. He blinked at you, a small smile toying on his lips as he gave your hand a squeeze. He looked back at the large metal gate then, taking a large shaky breath and rolling his shoulder. Once he’d steeled himself, he nodded, letting go of your hand as he made his way over to the intercom and pressed it, you hot on his heels.
“Anyone here?” he asked carefully but he was only met with silence.
“Frankie… if you’re in there, it’s Billy. I’m with Y/N… We… We made it,” he added, a desperate edge to his voice that had your stomach twisting in knots. Loud buzzing suddenly hit your ears and Billy stepped back quickly, grabbing your wrist and pulling you with him before he pushed you behind him slightly as if to protect you. The large metal gate started to open but before you had a chance to even try and observe the building or what was going on inside, Frank came barreling out and grabbed Billy so tight, he almost knocked him right off his feet. They clutched each other and you felt your eyes prick with tears, a smile on your face that had your cheeks hurting. Frank was muttering something but you couldn't make it out through his tears as they both cried. You were so wrapped up in the emotion of their moment, you didn’t even notice Karen until she was inches away from you and you were then engulfed in a tight hug.
“Oh my god, you made it,” she breathed, squeezing you hard as you hugged her back and allowed your tears to fall. The relief you felt was palpable. She moved away, a bright smile on her tearful face as she wiped her eyes. She turned to look at Billy then as he and Frank finally separated and she rushed over to him, grabbing him in a hug.
“Bring it in, Y/N,” Frank smiled widely as he approached you with his arms open wide. You hugged him and his arms came around you. It was the tightest hug the man had given you yet and you could feel him shaking as he held you.
“I’m so glad you made it. We all thought… After you walkied Bill and you were hurt…” he trailed off, holding you tighter for a moment before he let you go.
“It’s okay, Frank,” you murmured as you wiped your eyes with your sleeves. You were just relieved to see them.
“Everyone else… Are they…?” Billy asked, damp eyes darting from Karen to Frank.
“They’re okay, we all made it out,” Frank answered quickly, as if to ease his worries. You physically saw the stress leave Billy’s body as his shoulder sagged in relief, his lower lip trembling as he smiled and nodded.
“Bill… I didn’t mean to leave you back there, I-” Frank started, a deep frown on his face but Billy shook his head.
“It’s alright, Frankie,” Billy cut him off.
“No, It’s not,” Frank argued and Karen carefully rested a hand on Frank’s arm and made him look at her.
“Honey, they’d been through a lot, okay? Let them come in, see the others. You can explain after,” she suggested carefully. Frank looked from her to Billy, nodding reluctantly but he looked like he was carrying the weight of the world on his shoulders.
“Come on, you guys should see this place. It’s pretty amazing,” Karen smiled at you and Billy. When you looked over at Billy, he gave you such a genuine smile it made your chest ache and he took your hand, lacing his fingers with yours as Karen and Frank led you inside the gate.
You really couldn’t get over this place. The building itself was made from the same stone as the walls and looked to be two stories high. It was much bigger than you thought it would be but there was outside space all around it too. To the left there were rows and rows of crop plots, some of them already having things growing in them. You were startled to hear the sound of clucking and when you looked over behind the crop plots, you noticed a hen house. There were large solar panels off to the right of the building in a line along the walls as well as the turbines you’d seen from outside. When you stepped inside the building, your eyes swept around. It was a lot more homely than you’d expected inside with a large wooden staircase to the back of the building. There was a large living area with a fire and a huge kitchen off to the left with an island. It all looked modern and high tech. There were a few doors and Karen informed you one was to a basement that was stocked full of food, with Frank happily telling Billy it was also full of weapons and ammo too. Karen explained there were a bunch of bedrooms upstairs and a couple of working bathrooms. The place had working water and even its own sewer system. It was like the cabin but better. It was overwhelming being reunited with everyone and not one person had a dry eye as they all hugged you and Billy. It became clear after seeing everyone that while everyone seemed to think Billy would turn up one day, everyone had thought you were dead, not that you could blame them. You were just relieved they were all here and okay, you could hardly believe it. Before long, Frank and Karen had taken you and Billy over to the large dining table near the kitchen. You and Billy sat at one side, Frank and Karen at the other and Billy grabbed your hand, pulling it onto his lap as he held it tightly.
“I’m sorry,” Frank said firmly, giving Billy a pointed look.
“Frank-” Billy started with a frown but Frank held his hand up.
“I shouldn’t have left you behind, man,” he lamented, shaking his head.
“You didn’t leave me behind. You kept tellin’ me to fall back and I didn’t listen. That ain’t on you,” Billy argued.
“Everything was just… hectic. We got out but… but Matt and Karen were shot,” Frank explained. Your eyes snapped to Karen then who smiled ruefully and you felt Billy’s hand tighten around your own.
“I'm part of the cool kids club now,” she remarked wryly and Frank gave her a look.
“Micro was driving the truck, Sarah and the kids up front. Me, Curt and Foggy were in the bed, tryin’ to help Karen and Matt. Micro thought you were there too and he just took off, tryin’ to get us safe. Before I knew what happened, we were already halfway to Virginia,” Frank muttered, guilt coating his tone.
“He almost murdered Micro when he found out, Curtis had to drag him off him,” Karen murmured.
“I just… I didn’t know what to do. We were already so far out and we needed to get Karen and Matt somewhere safe, to patch ‘em up better. So we came out here,” Frank frowned deeply.
“It was the right call,” Billy insisted.
“Once I knew Karen was okay, I wanted to head out and find you, but Karen told me to stay put,” Frank admitted, shaking his head.
“I knew you’d find us here. If felt pointless him going out there, you’d just be missing each other,” she explained softly as she looked at Billy.
“It’s a good job you didn’t come back for me. Who knows what woulda happened, I might not have found Y/N and we’d all still be thinkin’ she was dead and she’d be out there all alone,” Billy muttered gravely and the thought stabbed you right in the chest. You didn’t want to think about the what ifs because they were pointless and the other reality was honestly terrifying. You weren’t sure what you would have done if you hadn’t found Billy that day.
“See, it all worked out in the end,” Karen smiled, giving Frank a meaningful look. She looked like she’d had this conversation already with him, trying to ease the guilt he felt at leaving Billy behind. He was a lot like Billy in that way, carrying heaps of guilt he shouldn't be feeling.
“I guess it did,” Frank murmured, finally smiling as he looked between you and Billy. There was a look in his eyes that told you he’d already picked up in the shift with the pair of you but luckily he didn’t press it. You were just happy to be with everyone, happy they were safe and here.
You wound up having dinner with everyone, you and Billy glued to each other’s sides as the kids wanted to know exactly how the ‘epic journey’ for you and Billy had gone and he regaled them with the tale as if it was from a storybook. While you'd tried to stay positive, mostly for Billy’s sake, you really had thought you’d have some bad news coming here and you couldn’t believe your luck to find none here. You’d finally caught a break and it was a fucking big one. You felt emotionally drained after the whole thing and by the time Billy was leading you up to a room he’d picked out for the both of you, you felt ready to sleep for a week.
“This is a pretty nice set up,” Billy mused as you walked into the bedroom. It was a decent size with a double bed, chest of drawers and wardrobe.
“I know. This place is amazing, I really feel like we have a chance at a normal life here,” you replied as you looked around and put the spare clothes on the bed that Karen had given to you and Billy. Billy pulled you over to him and you smiled up at him before he kissed you. When he pulled away, he kissed the tip of your nose.
“You okay?” you asked him as you ran your hands up his chest.
“Yeah. This whole thing’s just taken it out of me, can’t wait to get some rest,” he grinned ruefully.
“I feel that,” you snorted. A big part of you wanted to make the most of the working showers you had here but with the day you’d both had, you wound up changing into pajamas, the notion feeling wildly absurd, before you both slipped into bed. You both lay facing each other, your hand on his chest with your legs tangled with each other’s and his arm was around you, fingers drawing circles on your lower back.
“Thank you,” he murmured tiredly.
“For what?” you asked softly. He gave you a soft smile that made your heart feel like it skipped a few beats and you really couldn't believe how lucky you were.
“For bein’ you,” he answered simply, eyes crinkling a little and you snorted with a roll of your eyes.
“I mean it. You’re one of the most amazin’ people I’ve ever met. You’ve been my rock through all this shit. I don’t know how I woulda got through this without you,” he admitted earnestly and it made you smile.
“You’re pretty amazing too, Mr Russo,” you replied sleepily, leaning over to place a kiss to his lips.
“I love you,” he murmured against your lips, his hand moving to stroke your face.
“I love you too,” you answered easily, unable to help the smile on your face.
Eight Months Later
“Y/N, look!” Zach beamed as he ran over to where you were grabbing some potatoes and putting them into a basket. Karen had requested them for the dinner she was making.
“That’s awesome, Zach. How many did you get?” you asked with a smile, seeing him with his own basket full of eggs.
“Five. That’ll be enough, right?” he asked, eyes bright as he shifted on his feet.
“I’m sure that’s more than enough. You should go and give them to Karen,” you grinned at him, watching as he practically skipped off to the house. He loved those chickens more than anything and he’d taken the role of being the one to look after them and get the eggs when they laid. He seemed to enjoy having a job to do. You stood up, dusting off your jeans and jumped when you felt two hands grab your hips.
“Well, if it ain’t farmer Y/N,” Billy smirked into your ear, making you snort before you turned around. Your eyes dipped to the baby strapped to his chest, a wry smile tugging at your lips.
“You on baby duty?” you asked looking amused and he shrugged, a hand coming to cradle the baby’s small head.
“Figured Sarah and Micro could use the break,” he answered with a smile. Micro had been adamant on naming the baby William after Billy and you were sure it had something to do with how guilty he felt over being the one to leave Billy behind all those months ago. Nevertheless, Billy was stupidly smug about the whole thing. Delivering William had been terrifying but the safe house had a bunch of medical equipment. Curtis had taken the lead with you assisting, and thankfully, the birth had gone without any issues and both mother and baby had been perfectly fine.
“Anyone would think you're trying to steal him with how much time you spend with him,” you snorted softly, giving him an impish look. Sarah loved to joke about how Billy was trying to steal the baby away, to turn him into a mini Russo. You’d never expected Billy to be a baby person but he absolutely loved spending time with the little boy.
“Don’t listen to her, buddy. Aunt Y/N’s just mean to me,” he pouted playfully and you grinned as you shook your head, grabbing the basket with potatoes and carrots in.
“What time do you wanna head out?” you asked as he walked with you back to the house.
“Maybe like an hour?” Billy suggested, his hand darting out and lacing with your free hand.
“Sounds good to me,” you smiled. He used the hold on your hand to tug you to him but to the side a little so you didn’t squash the baby, kissing you softly. You parted ways when you got inside as you went to give Karen the goods before you got ready. You and Billy made a habit of going out hunting every few days even though you really didn’t need to right now. You had a lot of food in the basement but you both didn’t like feeling cooped up and it was nice to get out just the both of you. Billy liked to call them dates. Life here was surprisingly easy and it all worked like a well-oiled machine. You never thought in your wildest dreams you’d have some place like this during the end of the world but you were glad you found it. You thought back to all that time ago, when you were starving and desperate and came across Frank and Billy’s camp. It had all started with that group of assholes who had slit your throat and left you for dead. It was strange how things worked out, how it rippled like that. If that had never happened to you, you’d never have been scared to go to the stores to get food, you’d never have been desperate enough to try and rob Billy’s camp. You’d never have met your new family and never have met Billy. The scar that had once been a reminder of something awful and traumatic was a symbol of hope for you now. It was the beginning of your new life, the one you’d made with Billy. Every shitty thing you’d ever been through had led you to this moment and while you were sad your brother wasn’t here with you to enjoy a place like this, you knew that wherever he was, he’d be looking down at you happy that you finally found some peace. For once you were forced to finally realize that good things can last in this new world.

𝐌𝐨𝐥𝐚𝐬𝐬𝐞𝐬 𝐂𝐡𝐢𝐩 and Joel (tlou)??
– 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧
𝐉𝐨𝐞𝐥 𝐌𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐫 𝐱 𝐆𝐍!𝐑𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐫
𝐚𝐮𝐭𝐡𝐨𝐫'𝐬 𝐧𝐨𝐭𝐞: none of you folks understand how hyped I am to write about my man Joel. I have loved this man for four years now and that love has increased tenfold with Pedro portraying him. that being said, hope you all enjoy the double feature of fluff and angst...lmao...
𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐬: usage of the pet name "sweetheart", the first half is pure fluff, second half is pure angst, mentions of violence, nothing else I can think of!
𝐏𝐫𝐞-𝐎𝐮𝐭𝐛𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐤
Joel is a man of actions, not words.
He'd love you long before you even knew of it because it would all be in the details. First of all, he would remember things...occasionally. He remembers exactly how you take your coffee in the mornings, knows just how toasted you'd like your bread to be, and knows which radio station to turn on for you before he leaves in the morning.
And these details are so endlessly important because Joel has a tendency to forget, especially if work is a bit busier than usual. He's a scrambled up single father who can barely remember to take care of himself on the best of days.
And words...words don't come as easily to him. He'll tell you all the time that he isn't a smart man in that sense. But when he does use his words, boy, they are few but they are also mighty. You start to think that maybe he does it on purpose, reserving all those kind things just to knock the breath out of you when you're least expecting it. Either way, it isn't fair, you figure.
So when he's tiredly sauntering through the door at the end of the night about two hours later than he said he would, you can't wait to hear what he has to say.
Before you can utter a word, he begins, "Sorry, one of our guys got hurt earlier so I had to pick up the slack."
You groan. In other words, he's probably already exhausted. Too tired to do anything on a night where his daughter conveniently decided to stay the night with a friend.
You reply softly, "That's alright." But Joel knows you better than that.
He sniffs lightly and finally comes into view of the living room, holding a plastic takeout bag. When your eyes light up at the sight, that sniff turns into a deep, hearty chuckle as you grab at the bag.
"You are very easy to please," he mumbles.
"Yeah, which is lucky for you," you shoot back. You don't really notice when Joel furrows his brow at you while you crack open the first styrofoam container of food you see and rip a plastic fork from it's clear plastic.
Quickly, you take a heaping scoop of food and shove it in your mouth. The bite– though it's a bit soggy from condensation in the box – hits your empty stomach so satisfyingly that you smile and groan once more.
"Joel Miller..." you start to say dreamily and turn towards him, confusing still written all over his expression.
"Am I interrupting something?" he chuckles hesitantly.
You begin again, "Joel Miller, I love you so much."
And as silly as the moment is, he knows that you mean it. Because as long as you want this – a quiet life – with him? He believes it. He may not think too much of himself already, but this means the world to him.
When he finally fully meets your gaze, he gives you that sideways grin and says earnestly, "I love you more, sweetheart," before shaking his head and grabbing the TV remote, finally ready to settle in for the night.
𝐏𝐨𝐬𝐭-𝐎𝐮𝐭𝐛𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐤
When the world turned upside down, Joel turned with it. That's what you had to do in order to get by.
Now, more than ever, he's a man who lets his actions speak for themselves. He's quick to pull his gun on anyone who threatens you. When you're hurt, he's there to dote on you, scolding you for being so reckless and careless with your own life even though he knows full well that you can take care of yourself. But he can't help it. He holds your survival in higher regard than his own.
It's been a very long time since Joel had something he could lose like this. And he'd never forgive himself if...no...he doesn't even like imagining it. That's a cut that bleeds far too much for his liking.
So any sweetness that may have once existed within slipped through his hands along with the bits of his old life. That warm and sometimes sentimental man died with his daughter in that field.
Sometimes you could even be convinced that he actually hates you, even though he really thinks the world of you. What he really hates is the fragile reality of fate. What he hates are the hundreds of thousands of factors that could one day contribute to him losing you, all of which he has no control over.
One could say that Joel treads a mighty thin line in this way; knocking you off your feet with the absolute lengths this man will go to in order to keep you alive one minute and then the next he's coddling you like you're an incompetent toddler.
It's frustrating to say in the least, but the one thing you can be sure of is his protection. It's most on display in the middle of the night when he wraps an arm around you and pulls you to him. You fall asleep to the soothing rhythm of his deep breaths.
Sleep doesn't find Joel as easily; for almost two decades it hasn't. But in an odd way, he's grateful for it. Because it give him a chance to do a deadly thing that you'd never catch him doing while you're both awake.
He plants his lips on the top of your head, not for a goodnight kiss, but to mouth three sacred words that he doesn't dare speak aloud. I love you. So small and so scared that you couldn't even hear the sound of his tongue moving in order to form the words. But it's there. I love you. As sure as his asshole tone and his hard stares, Joel's love is right there. And in that moment, it stays trapped between his lips and your head.
Joel pictures the words seeping through your skull and sinking into your brain; the only kind of communication he can handle. I love you.
