things i love about heartstopper 43/?
I love how bittersweet so much of the story is. Some of the sweetest moments have a sting in their tail, or happen because of something painful.
I love that there are songs I can only listen to when I’m in a mood to Feel Things because they’re so attached to a particular moment. I love that in the midst of really hard things there are still moments of joy and in the middle of joyful moments there are little jagged edges.
Lots of people have talked (really well) about how idealistic this show is, but it’s not some mindless utopic vision of an impossible future. It’s idealistic in a way that recognises that life is hard and painful and the world can be really shit sometimes but that in the midst of all of it we can still make room for joy and love and fun together. It tells us we're not alone. If there's ever a time we need to hear that, it's now.
