I'm pulling out old Terror fandom thoughts but one of my favorites was that Thomas Hartnell's animal motif is a red deer. It's in his name (Hartnell, which literally means 'red deer hill'), in his coloring, and in his behavior. He's prey to people like Hickey, but he also shouldn't be taken lightly.

Also I love me some medieval bestiary symbolism, and this is one of my favorites:

The stag is the enemy of the snake. When the stag discovers a snake, it spits water into the hole where the snake hides, draws the snake out with its breath, and tramples it to death. If the stag is ill or old, it draws the snake out of hiding and swallows it. The stag then finds water and drinks large amounts of it to overcome the poison, and is renewed. When the stag is renewed it sheds its horns.

In short, MY DEER BOY.

this is a half-baked thought but i get when people say "appledusk cheating doesn't warrant him being killed" because in that sense it's being viewed with the same social sanctions as our society but like. they don't. they live in a society :tm: where his relationship with maple was illegal altogether and could warrant being exiled and losing the support of their community

he’s got about 4 lawn chairs on each arm, carrying them over to the grass for some moms while they look on. he has 0 clue they’re even watching him; he’s too busy looking for you

and the moment he spots you, looking right back at him, he trips over his own feet and tumbles down. at least he catches himself before he can actually get hurt, but he manages to drop all of the folding chairs he had

his cheeks burn hot and he keeps his eyes down, scrambling to get up and gather the chairs. he doesn’t see your fond smile, completely endeared by his little flub, as he rushes to set the seats up and fight off his blush

i promise i won’t make a habit of this but look a bad take about bumble is a bad take i have to wield my blade against. she was being threatened and beaten!! the scene where they reject her she’s pleading for safety from her abuser!!!! the moor cats weren’t concerned about turtle tail they literally just thought about how fat and useless bumble was and it was framed as a good thing

Sometimes I like to think Sonic goes into the woods and chills out with the animals. Some of the animals follow him around as they see him as a big bro. The deer especially like him because he messes with hunters traps.🥺
