In reviewing my personal quilting tag, I realized I never posted photos of my Tiffany appliqué quilt, based on the window "Magnolias and Irises" in the Met's collection.
This was the first large-scale attempt at a project of this type, and while I'm overall pleased with the result, there are definitely things I would do differently were I to attempt something like this again (starting with using a machine with a much better satin stitch...)
#ooh a rose window quilt done like this could be interesting#or ecclesiastical stained glass in general... hmm.#quilt#quilting#applique#i made this#louis comfort tiffany#stained glass#magnolias and irises

Rosehill Mausoleum stained glass windows
Rosehill Cemetery, Chicago, Illinois
There are about 38 Tiffany stained glass windows in the individual crypts of Rosehill Mausoleum, most of them commissioned between 1912 and 1930, according to Jack L. Bradley (the mausoleum opened in 1914). There is an online census of them here. From time to time, on my visits to the mausoleum, I photograph several of the windows.
John G. Shedd Memorial window
Detail, center panel

Other stained glass I photographed recently in the mausoleum:

I always thought that (before the tv show went and said otherwise 🫠) that the reason chucky kidnapped Sarah wasn't because of a love obsession, but rather so he could kidnap sarah's baby once she was born—that maybe chucky and tiffany had been planning on being parents, but for some reason they couldn't (like maybe tiffany was having fertility issues when she was human, but then the moment she became a doll in bride she was able to get pregnant super easily, unbeknownst to the two of them of course) so the next step in desperation was to kidnap a baby
Which would have made all the nica and tiffany stuff even more fucked up honestly, so maybe it's for the best they didn't go that route, but still, it would have been interesting prior to the TV show coming out.
#i always thought the sarah stuff was either to kidnap baby nica or do a sacrifice of some kind#but nope... it was some weird joe goldberg-esque fantasy 🤷♀️#and the whole tiffany calling the cops on chucky thing would have made sense if she thought he was cheating on her#but nope#all the possible sense all of this could make went right out the window with the writing in the show#chucky#chiffany#tiffany valentine#chucky tv series#yes im kinda bitching again leave me be lol
