Angeltober 2023 Day 8 - Mother
what better animal to choose than a oppossum mother with her babies on her back? /rq . It was extremly fun shading all the little babies and doing tiny wings all over the place. just a nature setting felt the ost opproriate here instead of something more crazy. The stained glass window design this time around is very detaile, and while it might feel a little crowded , i wanted to keep it since it fits with the crowded back of the mother and wings and everything :3 -dairiem

This is what I imagined the stain glass window to look like from the church of the doodler <3
Odyssey-san is pink, Glenn is blue, Ron is yellow, Henry is green, and Darryl is red. I have some meaning behind the colors but it’s very self explanatory.
sorry i took a break from requests to make this- im getting back to the requests now. Requests are open btw!!

Angelus, daemonium Inimici ab origine Fatum vinculum Etiam Deus non potest dissolvere

Angel, demon Hereditary enemies A bond of destiny Not even God can dissolve
My extremely late contribution to week 12 of the Ineffable Prompt-A-Thon by @ineffablyruined is a stained glass window featuring our favorite (un)holy beings. Well, not just my contribution, since that beautiful Latin poem was written by the wonderful @snognes. Thank you so much, you literal angel on earth, I'm forever in your debt 🥰
In terms of references, I used a real-life window, from the real-life location where they shot the 1941 church scene! More info a bit later, just click on Keep reading 😇😈

Thanks to this post by @fuckyeahgoodomens, I found out that the 1941 church scene was filmed in the St. Saviour's Anglican Church in Claremont, Cape Town, South Africa. Lucky for us, they have a website with a gallery page, which includes many of their beautiful stained glass windows, including this one:

PS: I actually did go through the trouble of drawing all the intricate stonework around the glass panes; in fact, that’s the very first thing I did! But honestly, I’ve been working on this piece for so long that at this point I just wanted to get it over with and didn't feel like doing all that additional color and shading work... so black void it is lol.
I might revisit this at a later date and perhaps do a little gif or something of like, the sun shining through in different way over the course of a day...

Here, and here alone, were moon and fire ever together.
Otp discovered!
(in my personal take on them, they're that one type of "star-crossed lovers" trope where the feelings are mutual, but both sides realize that their circumstances make a real relationship impossible)
