Eternal Bonds: Tim and Danny’s Infinite Realms Marriage
In the Infinite Realms, marriage is an unparalleled commitment. Unlike the mortal world, where love can be fleeting and easily undone, marriage in the Realms is something far more sacred. It’s not just about vows or ceremonies—it’s about merging souls, creating a bond that not even the vast stretches of time can sever. The very idea of marriage in the Realms is rare, almost mythical, because it requires two beings to love each other so profoundly that they’re willing to bind their very existence to one another.
For the ghosts and entities that reside in this realm, eternity isn’t just a poetic idea—it’s a reality. Time is meaningless when you’re no longer alive, when your very essence is bound to the afterlife. And because of this, relationships are viewed through a different lens. There’s no such thing as divorce, no “time apart.” Once a couple is bound, their souls are intertwined forever. To dedicate your entire being—past, present, and future—to another means accepting that their joys, sorrows, triumphs, and failures will be yours too. It’s a partnership where breaking the bond is simply impossible.
It’s why marriage is such a rare occurrence in the Realms. The ghosts, who have already lived one life and often seen the frailty of mortal promises, don’t enter into this kind of bond lightly. It’s only for the strongest of loves, for the most steadfast of commitments. Because once you marry in the Infinite Realms, that bond holds through eternity itself.
And yet, despite the gravity of it all, Tim and Danny find themselves willing to make that very commitment. Tim, a mortal tied to a world where things end, where nothing lasts forever, steps into the unknown. His love for Danny is so deep, so unshakable, that he agrees to a traditional Infinite Realms marriage. He knows full well the weight of it—he’s not just vowing to love Danny in this life, but in every life after. In swearing to this bond, Tim is offering his entire being to Danny, for now and all of eternity.
For Danny, this choice means even more. As a halfa, he exists between two worlds, knowing both the mortality of the living and the permanence of the ghostly afterlife. His love for Tim is powerful enough that he’s willing to make this eternal commitment, knowing that there’s no one else in any world—mortal, ghostly, or beyond—he would rather be tied to. For Danny, the bond is as natural as breathing. It’s a connection that deepens their relationship in a way that transcends the limitations of their two worlds.
Their marriage isn’t just a declaration of love—it’s a merging of souls, a binding that makes them two parts of the same whole. It overwhelms them with the sense of safety and belonging that they’ve both craved in their lives. In each other, they find the kind of love that doesn’t just endure life’s difficulties but thrives beyond them. Their bond ties them together forever in a way that no one else could understand, but to Tim and Danny, it’s everything.
They are each other’s home. And in the Infinite Realms, there is no greater honor, no stronger connection, than to be bound by love for all of eternity.

So you're telling me that if Elphaba hadn't been able to turn Fiyero into a scarecrow, Dorothy would have found a beaten and nearly dead man tied to a post.

I love to think that the real reason the members of the jury have to renounce their family and their past isn't because of some oath they take, no it's because when they take the power of the jury they start to lose who they once were. They forget those that they used to hold dear because of the powers their jury form lends them. They don't intend to forget and it's not instant, it's slow and gradual. Overtime it'll just feel like a dream, becoming unsure if there was anyone ever there to begin with.
This theory very heavily ties back in with Katelyn, why after the Irene dimension she wasn't too quick to go searching for her family, because at that point she had forgotten who they were a long time ago. She's no longer a member of the jury, no longer influenced by this memory fog. But it still lingers, throughout her time with aphmau and laurance she starts to remember little things, she knows there were people, those who she cared about. But she can't remember their names, who they were, who they wanted to be. She remembers feelings. It's why when she talks about her family in the later season she's so inconsistent, because she doesn't remember and it bothers her that she might never remember

okay but the way that the alternate universe is not just a universe without hextech, it's a universe without shimmer too. violet's death and the job going bad can't alone account for the undercity thriving in the future, that's because silco and vander got back together, and thus shimmer was never created (or never used/abused in the same way). we can see it in alt silco's eye - it's just a normal scar. we can see it in the colors of the alternate world, they're muted and soft compared to the harsh neon contrasts of the world we're used to. and in jace's hellish future the colors are muted too, but in a different way, they're melded. we can either have the utopian world without hextech/shimmer or the world where there are too much of both. because as much of an emphasis on hextech being the catalyst for apocalypse, there would not be any significant fight without the scrappy but effective underdog of shimmer to fight back. blue/pink/blue/pink. and the most interesting thing about this alt world is that the elements to make hextech (and presumably shimmer) are still there. alt powder has the crystals from the explosion, dormant in the drawer under her alter. the lizard thing that shimmer comes from is probably kickin' it in the cave still. the elements are all there. the only difference, as silco says, is the willingness to forgive, to end the cycle of revenge and violence for good.

Not me listening to this and always imagining how when Karlach ( @infernaliscor ) chooses death, the scenario in my head is that she shoved Minthara away from her so she wouldn't burn up with her. Then Minthara crying outright as she crawls back over to her and pushes her hands into her ashes and collapses onto her knees. Staring down at what's left of her love, her darling love, and just cries before she barely has enough lucidity to gather as much of her ashes as she can into a leather pouch. Where she then has two swords made from them, two swords that she carries on her back as she goes into Avernus herself, just as she promised Karlach, and enters the blood wars to make Zariel pay for ever laying eyes on her. With Karlach protecting her back just as she did in life ... swords she will plunge into the Arch devil herself, still killed by Karlach even in death.
#[ 🕷️ ] —— musings#[ worse if she kills zariel ]#[ no matter how many years it takes ]#[ her daughter grows up- the home as she knows fades away fully etc ]#[ worse if as she sits on or near zariel's dead body she collapses on her knees again and turns her head back and screams ]#[ roars and then eventually it fades and she just cries because it did not kill her ]#[ worse if she feels purposeless because grief can kill elves remember that and she stands at the edge of a void or doom and stares#right into the pits and wishes to badly to find her love in oblivion and then she sucks in a breath of air ]#[ with Clive tied to her belt- with the heat of the swords made from Kar.lach's ashes ]#[ existing like k.arlach's hand on her shoulders and she remembers how she wanted life ]#[ remembers that she wouldn't want her to do this to herself and would want her live- and live FULLY and instead of looking into death#she turns away and leaves.. leaves the area.. leaves avernus. ]#[ and then as soon as her feet touch grass- she finally sees the world as k.arlach saw it when she first landed onto the coast ]#[ the world- after spending so many years in the Hells seeking vengeance- was suddenly brighter. ]#[ she could smell things.. feel the softness of the grass and the cool of the air and just..#sits by the river stretching her feet out and taking her shoes off to let it sit in the river ]#[ just as karla.ch was found when you first meet her - can eat and enjoy real food and water and drink. ]#[ understanding it now as she did all those years ago.. ]#[ purposeless now.. not knowing what to do now.. she returns to Bald.urs Gate. ]#[ and gets a house on the edge of the city .. just like k.arlach would have wanted and dreamed about. ]#[ welcome to my head everyone ]

It's been 10 years since the last game in the series, it isn't unreasonable to be planning for this game to be a soft reboot of the series. But they needed to be straight up about that from the beginning instead of trying to play it off like they have been. Keeping the NDA on the inquisition import specifically and the way they spoke about it in interviews were absolutely terrible choices. Bioware needed to be managing expectations and making this choice very clear from the beginning and they absolutely did not do that. I'm not sure the intensity of the response here can really be called surprising given how poorly they handled this. The "oh these other decisions could come back in a later game" thing also feels pretty ridiculous. They need to quit that shit and just be honest about their plans to reboot the series. Finally, bioware has to stop trying to have it both ways. They can't soft reboot the series and then also bring back characters from earlier installments. Either our decisions, especially our decisions that affect those characters, are relevant or they are not. Either those characters can be changed by past events, or they can't and there's no point in giving them diverging in game paths. They've gotta decide which one they want.

FFXIVWrite 2024 Day 11 - Surrogate
Masterlist Fandom: Final Fantasy XIV Characters/Pairings: Leofard Myste & Warrior of Light Rating: Teen & Up Additional Notes: Takes place at during HW patch 3.5. Major spoilers for the Shadow of Mhach alliance raid questline. Ao3 Link
Lady Raimille. The picture painted by Stacia's tale was everything an orphaned child could want from a parent. Everything except that she'd passed on too soon — but not before giving her foster son one last gift.
The noblewoman’s real portrait hung above them, enshrined in Leofard’s quarters. Presiding over his affairs and his family; watching over the man himself. Moro'a knew that paintings like this cost a considerable sum to commission, and that taking care of them required specific knowledge and attention; unexpected obligations for a sky pirate.
But the painting gleamed, immaculately free of blemishes. “I had wondered as to the origin of his vessel's naming,” Cait Sith said softly, his voice touched with emotion. “‘Tis a most beautiful painting.”
Moro’a’s time in Ishgard had also taught him that portraits like this one were made to memorialise — a likeness captured in brushstrokes, preserved from time. Remember me as I was, in this moment. Remember what this person means to us. Situated where their loved ones could gaze upon them, and never forget.
I doubt I'll ever feel worthy to sit where he sat.
Throughout their adventures, Leofard had pretended as though the portrait wasn’t there, and it was all Moro’a had needed to know not to bring it up. He’d accepted it without judgement, without ever considering otherwise. What was he here for, if not to hide from ghosts and broken hearts; from memory?
But now that Stacia had told them what Leofard would never impart himself, the pieces that made up the leader of the Redbills had finally begun to click: why a man who prized freedom so highly would build his new home a stone's throw from the Holy See, and why the loss of his airship had made Leofard retreat into himself, like a creature seeking familiar refuge.
It seems she kept him safe until the very end, Utata had said, and Moro’a’s heart had clenched so tight that he thought it might shatter.
It wasn’t any of his business. The voidsent had been stopped, and Cait Sith had found a new home. His time with the Redbills was coming to a close. It’d been an engaging distraction, which was precisely what Moro’a had needed; there were no stones left to overturn, no more accidental revelations to be had. He would go his separate way, into the unknown, and then…
Later, as he was stowing the few essentials he’d brought into the manacutter, Moro’a heard footsteps approaching. He turned to see Leofard, who was already dressed in a clean set of clothes and red-tinted goggles. “I almost forgot,” the sky pirate said, as breezy as could be now as he held something out in his hand. A Redbill scarf.
“You didn’t have to,” Moro’a murmured, feeling a strange mixture of reluctance and guilt.
“And I say otherwise, Warrior. I reckon you’ve done more than you’ll ever need to to have earned this.” His hand stretched closer, and Moro’a considered refusing. He was ready to quit this place, to move on. I’m not who you think I am, he wanted to say.
Instead he found himself reaching out for the scarf, and tucking it in with the rest of his things.
If, after he'd said his farewells, his hand reached under the collar of his shirt to gently hold the necklace that rested against his chest, to remember, he was the only one who needed to know.
#ffxivwrite2024#ffxivwrite#kae scribbles#moro'a kihshimo#leofard myste#cait sith#hhhhhh this prompt is loaded with multiple meanings and i feel the need to yap about it#tag essay incoming#obviously it's about raimille; leofard's surrogate mother#and it's also about haurchefant if that wasn't already clear (in which case my bad)#except that moro'a's still deep in grief and coping by. not processing things beyond what he knows is necessary to keep going#so it's also about how this whole adventure is a replacement for what moro'a really needs to be doing; a temporary reprieve#there's the moment moro'a realises what raimille means to leofard and what this almost does to him#he doesn't acknowledge it here but it's because he had a surrogate parent of his own#well sort of#moro was his friend and confidant and inspiration; she nurtured his interest in the world beyond their own when he was a kid#she's the reason he went to eorzea when hell broke loose in their little part of corvos and why he's an adventurer at all#he doesn't know if she's dead; he has no idea what happened to her after leaving his clan#and so he isn't thinking of her here; partly because he's trying not to#but the feelings are still there; buried and waiting to be torn open (that happens in stormblood)#ig if circumstances had been a little different moro'a and leofard may have wound up becoming closer a lot sooner????#but that isn't what happened lol#last thing more of an extra note: the necklace is precious to moro'a and what ties a lot of this together#it was originally a gift from moro which was lost in the sea of clouds after moro'a rescued emmanellain from the vundu#after which haurchefant took it upon himself to replace the necklace by matching the original gemstones as closely as he could#the necklace represents the two people moro'a loved most. after taking up goldsmithing he starts to add more pendants for others#starting with ysayle and mide#okkkkk bye

First day back at the office after 3 weeks (I was out helping bf with ACL reconstruction recovery/hoping to salvage my mental health lol) you can imagine the general state of decay I am in currently at 8pm (still passively working and helping bf with paperwork he should have done two weeks ago) but at least the ghost of Tony Bourdain turned up and we made negima yakitori bowls (I ran out of skewers) on the electric griddle with no recipe and they absolutely slap

ok so my thoughts on when this takes place is like. after the operator is killed. if that can be done. im a firm believer in the idea that skully has control over all of their thoughts and actions but can absolutely listen to and agree with the many. i think the consensus was that this guy deserves to know what happened, but by doing so they disrupt Tim's repressing of the events. it was supposed to be temporary as he got back on his feet but he ended up not actually coping with anything. so its very very stressful to have the illusion of everything being ok broken, even if the news is good.

a lot of people don’t get why dazai seemed “gloomy” in this scene because “he killed the person he wanted to kill” and i think from my perspective anyway, it comes down to the fact that although dazai is most likely “sad” about having killed (so he thought) maybe the only other person thus far that has truly understood him, he is also a) aware of himself as a potential danger already, and in killing fyodor this solidifies that people like themselves are always going to be dangerous no matter how much “good” they think they can accomplish because their ways of thinking and their lack of emotional input into the world separates them from average people every time and b) even being that nikolai wanted to kill fyodor, dazai is watching someone mourn in a mirror almost of the way he mourned his own friend and the person who gave him purpose for living. nikolai says as much himself that fyodor, and later the idea of killing fyodor, fuelled his purpose for living to discover true freedom, which i think mirrors dazai’s view of himself in the mafia but also how odasaku granted dazai his freedom in telling him how he should try to live his life. dazai as character grows a lot in terms of how he views death and grief, especially when talking to atsushi about the orphanage director, saying “people usually cry when their father’s die” meaning that no matter how confusing it is for atsushi to be sad that the man who made his life a living misery is dead, it’s okay for him to feel this way. dazai is just very reassuring of allowing people to digest emotion in whatever way they choose without having something smart to say about it. it’s not exactly empathy, but just a simple recognition that such devastating emotion is sometimes incredibly difficult to reconcile and experience in a way that most “normal” people would
