So I'm having difficulty deciding what to name the fic for the mnemonic au I've been working on. Only gonna let this run for 1 day lol, any feedback is appreciated.

For those who don't know, the AU is based on Sonic Frontiers asking the question of what would happen if Shadow had been transported to the Starfall Islands. Sonic lands on Mnemosyne Island and is confused to find a digitized Shadow there. During their time on the island they learn about the nature of their relationship and about how hard it is to let go and trust. The fic features primarily QPR sonadow in an already established relationship with the story starting on the fourth island and going through to the end of the Final Horizon DLC. Hopefully the first chapter will be posted on August 5th!

It had gone smoothly, several people had stopped by. Dorothy simply to tap the beak of his chicken. "Dante let me know all about it when they stopped by." The ogre told Lennox, amusedly tapping at the beak of the black chicken as Berthilda contentedly clucked on the table. "Werewolf courtship eh? That's a high compliment. Good for you!"

"Th-thank you for letting me keep the chicken." Lennox had stuttered, a little cowed, and embarrassed. "And being so understanding." Dorothy had huffed a laugh.

"I owed Dante a favor, I'm just glad my little lady was given to capable hands. You'll be giving your suitor whatever favorite recipe of chicken is, when you meet her. But may want to be where you meet usually for the full moon, so you can return the favor and get the next hints."

"…sounds like you've had experience?"

"Ah, my first husband. A lovable scamp of a man named Ryker Howlett. A good, good man. He gave me a goat and daffodils. I gave him a goat and potato stew when I figured out who he was."

"First husband? What happened?"

Her eyes took on a distant look. "Full moon after a heavy rain, and a hunting accident. Was nobody's fault."

"I'm sorry." Lennox was, truly. He didn't know what else to say to keep it from getting stilted so asked "who's the second husband if I can ask?"

"Who was my second husband" Dorothy corrected, and laughed. "Dante. They were my second husband. Like I said; I owed them a favor." Dorothy cheerfully bought a few eggs as Lennox processed that in stunned silence.

Did I plan on Dante and Dorothy having been together? No. Do I want the two to get back together? Kinda, yea lol

It just annoys me because I get back into the query game with some new submissions and a killer opening letter but then I remember just why it's so complicated. First you have everybody asking for different things, ten pages, three chapters, one chapter, all matters what house they're representing. Some want an attachment, some just want it sloppily pasted into the email itself. I don't get it but whatever, I make them all as a template and save them so I can send them no matter what they pick.

Now after choosing from the list of open agents, I go to the publishing website and I see "Well different people on our team require different things. Visit the individual on Their Publishers Market Profile for more." well...Ok, that's three websites in now but OK, I already had someone in mind! Let me navigate "Send your query here:" Ok but what format? What am I using? I don't care if you don't but I don't want to be docked because it isn't in freaking fourteen point Arial Black when it's just an email to tell you "Read this, please, do your job."

I already do the research to see what genres you're interested in and where you're from and what you do and I try to appeal to that, so please stop making it harder than it has to be. I get it's easy to thumb through when you see it all uniform or you want to see how well they follow directions but come on!

It was strange and wonderful how much the world had healed between then and now. It felt like he could heal, too. Like he was healing already. "You seem lost in thoughts, stranger? Can I offer a penny for them?" 

This society's equivalent of a penny, a wooden rhombus apparently made from old petrified yet living wood was gripped between two sturdy fingers and offered. He observed it with a strange ancient amusement. "No amount of money will get the dead to talk" he told the woman after a time "if they don't feel so inclined. Believe me, my re-animator's tried." A low laugh that warmed Lennox's heart as much as the sun warmed his skin. 

"A penny for an egg, then. And an interesting conversation." 

"I can do that." He agreed readily with an answering laugh. She was tall, though not as tall as Dorothy. Sturdy as one who worked with animals, and her smile lifted into her eyes. Her whole self radiated happiness and a charm that came from being friendly, from being willing to take a chance and roll with the good and ill that came with it. "What passes as interesting for you, uh…?"

A further crinkle of her wide eyes as her smile widened. She brushed back fluffy hair behind an ear as she pondered. "Haven't the slightest idea." She told him. 

"You don't know what your name is?"

Surprised laughter. "No! I'm…I just don't know what could be interesting as a conversation, now that I think about it." A wide calloused hand pressed to her chest over her worn but clean shirt and coveralls. "I'm Estrella Deveraux. But everyone calls me Esti." She leaned in, clearly teasingly. "Why? Want to sell my information to the fae?"

He laughed again. "It feels odd not having a name to place with a person. Especially someone as charming as you?" He didn't mean to make it a question, but all the same she blushed from it. She brushed her hair behind her ear again. The auburn waves couldn't seem to sit still on her head.

"You're so sweet." She said, head cocking. "Everyone was right, and I'm glad."
