Now for the piece itself, I actually enjoyed drawing it!! I love how the colours came out and this is pretty much the start of me just colouring my sketches cause who cares about line art come on 🤧

Plane drawings! Just thinking about my favorite fic of mine, End the Old Games, a oneshot about Slytherin Sirius Black saving the son of longtime rival James Potter from a “death by werewolf” execution. In any universe, Harry is still his kid even if he’s not supposed to talk to him 🥲

(Also, it was an interesting experience sketching through turbulence!)

Sometimes I like to make comics, as a treat. See below the cut for a snippet of my progress. :)

Clothing refs for Ch 37, Ellie's hand-cropped shorts and red flannel were given, but Abby's clothes were not as clear so I took some artistic liberties. :')

+ lighting test - was aiming for early morning/dawn colours. Purple hues are some of my favourites to work with.

The section of the fic I was adapting, written by the brilliant @thedreadslayer:

“What … the hell am I doing?” Her legs go numb and unsteady. She plants herself down on a boulder. “Oh, god. I could’ve … oh, my god.” “But you didn’t,” says Abby, kneeling beside her. She gently rotates Ellie’s arm and indicates her masked bite. “Because of this. Because you believe in what we’re doing here.” Abby takes Ellie’s hand, clamps it around her Firefly dog tag, and just … holds it there. It’s terribly intimate. And terrible. “You did a good thing.” Ellie glares at Abby and imagines ripping her pretty face right off.  Because the Fireflies, the cure, humanity - her supposed “greater purpose” - had little to do with her decision to stay. 

I've made comics from prose a few times before in the past, but I can't say that I've developed any specific process for it lmao 🥲 i just try to make thumbnails and see what vibes well

it isn't shown here, but I've learned to start blocking out the colours before I line and found it's been a great help figuring out the tone and layout :')

I was just thinking about your Two-Face art as one does and was thinking of your version of him with tattoos 😵‍💫💕

Not sure if you've done/answered this, but if he had one or any what do you think your version of Two-Face would have for tattoos? Or what would you headcanon as a tattoo for Two-Face? 🤔

One of my next tattoos was supposed to be the "good heads" and "bad heads" on the back of my hands, but I think I have to relocate it elsewhere since my previous hand tattoos didn't hold much pigment even after a touch up 🥲 So that idea is on hold at the moment, but soon!

As for Harvey...

Personally I don't view Harvey as a tattoo kinda guy, BUT, now I've kinda convinced myself a smidge that he might, lmao. I definitely think he might get Latin/Latin law terms inked onto him, perhaps on the upper wrist or arm... some of the ones I chose were:

Amor fati (love of fate), because, you know, being the master of fate and controlling his victims' fate is a big part of him. Bona fide (in sincere intention). I've talked about bona fide before, about how Harvey might use this law term when sort of justifying more violent approaches to what he does etc. For the greater good and all that. Custos morum (custodian/guardian of morals). In a courtroom this means to uphold the morals of society, and I do think Harvey has become a darker version of that... he upholds morals by any means necessary, even if it's not moral itself.

Ummmm, for another idea, I think he might also get singular scales of justice on each arm, the handle pointing towards his hand, so it's like he's holding the scales himself. ^^

Sometimes you questioned you and Miles’s relationship. Not in a bad way though. He was the sweetest boy you knew, at times he was too sweet, but that was just how he showed he cared. You both had been friends since elementary. Yeah, maybe you shared a kiss under the slide, or used to crush on each other, but you both left that in the past. There was no feelings there anymore..Right?

Millimeters 🙄: “You eat today y/n”

“nah 🥲 I’m sketching rn I’ll eat later”

Millimeters 🙄: “whatchu want for dinner 🤦🏾‍♂️”

“nothing”

He always did little stuff like that, but after he’d always clarify it was in a best friend way, just incase.

Before you could get back to drawing there was a knock at your window, and a boy with a bag of food in his hand.

“Miles I told you I wasn’t hungry.” You said with a bit of a frown on your face. You couldn’t help but feel guilty when people did stuff for you, even if they didn’t mind.

“You said you weren’t hungry but you be lying soo…” He came into your room and closed the window, placing the food on your desk and flopping back on your bed.

“So what’s been up witchu y/n? You still talking to that boy from art?”

“I was never talking to him, we literally just sit next to each other in class.” You shrugged turning your back to him at your desk. He came over your shoulder to look at your sketchbook.

“You know you can take breaks right? Arts supposed to be fun.”

“I know, I’m tryna get this scholarship.”

“You will. Just chill with me for now.” He responded, closing your sketch book and getting his food out of the bag.

You both started eating and talking together, completely ignoring the time. Miles was right though, art had been consuming you at this point. He just didn’t want you to lose the fun in being creative.

“Anyways, I got us some tickets to a concert, guess who?” He looked up at you with a faint smirk and a mouthful of food.

“Miles you didn’t have to.”

“But I did. Now guess.” He responded quickly.

“I dunno? You really didn’t have to though..”

“Oh well, guess you’ll see who when we go on Friday.” He shrugged and smiled. “Just know you’ll love it.”

For some reason the room had a bit of tension in it, you couldn’t put your finger on why, and you wondered if miles felt the same way.

“Who you lookin cute for?” He said quickly, still looking down at his plate.

“Whatchu mean I’m just wearin pajamas?”

“Oh. You just look really pretty.” He said looking up from his plate with a faint smile.

“Mhm, thank you miles.” You chuckled a little, playing with your food with your fork. “Why you really come over here?” You said, looking up from your plate this time.

“What I can’t see my bestie?” He laughed, raising an eyebrow.

“No like…nevermind.” You said shaking your head a bit.

“You said you was hungry so I brung you food.” He shrugged quickly.

You genuinely couldn’t tell if miles had feelings for you or not. Honestly he acted like this to everyone, not on this scale obviously but he was a sweet person. Your brain was scrambled at this point, anybody looking at you could tell you had something on your mind.

He reached for his phone and sighed, the time was 12pm and his mom wanted him to come home.

“I gotta go, it’s getting mad late.”

“I wanted to ask you..nevermind it’s nothing.” You quickly said, sighing a little.

He got up from your bed and leaned down to press a kiss on your cheek.

“Stop overthinking it y/n.” He said before climbing out of your window.

You sat on your desk chair frozen in place. What just happened? What did he mean by that? A heavy sigh left your lips as you fell back on your bed and clutched your pillow in your arms.

A text pinged through your phone before you fell asleep.

Hi Mickey! Oh gosh I haven’t been in this blog for a little while now, how have ya been? (I’ve been busy with things but I’m mangling them okay I suppose) ✨

I have a question to ask, how do you deal with burnouts (or how do you deal with being unmotivated)? Because I have been quite unmotivated lately, with not doing many drawings as I used to and I’m stuck doing this animatic about…. Uhhh actually best if I don’t mention it 😅 (it’s a bit complicated for you probably ehe), so I wanna know how ya deal with them and maybe I could get tips from you…😅 thanks that’s all I got (for now ), sorry if this was awkward 🥲

Ah, burnouts. Those are not fun at all 😔. I definitely can relate to wantin' to start a bunch of new projects, but yet not feelin' the energy to actually start on any of 'em. It's like your body's just not listenin' to what your mind wants. I actually was talkin' to Clarabelle 'bout this and she had some interestin' advice.

She said that sometimes if a project feels too big, we can sometimes feel unmotivated to get started. In that case we could either try and start smaller with tiny things we feel we can do quickly and without much effort. For example when I wanted to work on this giant complex plane model 🛩, I found it was easier to just focus on completin' a single piece each time instead of the whole plane. It took while, but I ended up finishin' the whole model.

She also said that even doin' something that seems unrelated at first, can help inspire you. For example I was really wantin' to get some sketchin' done for a project, but just couldn't get started. So I took a break to watch some TV 📺 and ended up watchin' a really unique show that inspired me with some sketch ideas and I ended up motivated enough to work on the project again.

But I think what she said that really stood out is that we should listen to our bodies. Sometimes our bodies just want to rest, and even though we might see it as bein' lazy or not gettin' what we want done, it's actually more like rechargin' batteries. The time we spend just existin' isn't exactly wasted time.

Clarabelle is one of the wisest friends I have and her advice definitely helped me out. I hope it helps you out too! 😊

⚠️ARTSTYLE RANT INCOMING⚠️

So for the past few weeks and honestly even longer I've really been struggling with my artstyle, not in the way that I don't like it though more so IT TAKES WAY TO FUCKING LONG TO FINNISH ANYTHING!!

Before my current one I used to have an art style I called the Hazard style, because it was basically stolen from an artist called Hazard Girl (They were a Frans artist so I figured they didn't deserve their artstyle lol) well anyways I original switched to that style because the one BEFORE that (I've had a lotttt of styles-) was like the current one IT WAS WAY TO COMPLICATED!

So I switched styles using a more simpler one because well

I have Hdhd like really really bad BUT I do have meds for it but those meds have a time limit..a very short one even taking it twice a day leaves me in a panic trying to Finnish the stuff I wanna draw because I know as soon as it wears off I'm basically useless any time I attempt to start or Finnish any drawings when it wears off all I end up with is like 25 more wips I'll never finish.

And so I switched to the Hazard style, it was soooo much faster I could get stuff finished and hell sometimes I coule even fet multiple things finished before my meds wore off!

And the same things happening now and honestly worse, my meds wear of so fast to me I've been trying to finnish stuff all week and ive gotten hardly anything because it takes so long by the time I even get to the coloring my meds have already worn off and I'm left unable to finnish it, or worse and the most frequent thing to happen lately it takes me so long to decide what I wanna draw or i do know what i wanna draw i just cant get it to look right and next thing i know my meds have worn off and i dont even have a sketch done!!

That's honestly why ive been debating going back to the Hazard style but like..I really like my current artstyle and yes I do like the old one to but the current one is what I always wanted ESPECIALLY for my Undertale comic it gives the exact feels that I want it to and it's perfect for that sort of art, but I literally can't do it i just it takes soooo longggguhh to the point I literally can't finish anything I start.

Not to mention I'm almost out of my medicine for the month and I don't usually get refilled right away i have to wait WEEKS until my next refill so I end up not drawing at all for weeks Wich I hate because I have so many ideas but literally CANT do them, so now I'm stuck

I can't Finnish literally anything

I don't wanna change my style because I love it

And I'm very quickly running out of my Hdhd meds

WHAT THE HELL DO I DO 😭

And no I can't just not take it for a day it causes MASSIVE headaches and dizziness if I don't take it twice a day like I'm supposed to 🫠

HI OK I’M& LATE IN OUR++ TIMEZONE BUT SHUSH 😭 I& was supposed to post something yesterday but enjoyed Summer for the day and then the AuDHD turned me& away 🥲 BUT it’s all good cuz I’m& posting this now!!

Originally, I& was gonna do a sketch to figure out what drawing I& was gonna do of these two together and then I& was like “hey, this sketch is looking pretty good!!” and just…went with that as the drawing even more so cause of my& AuDHD trying to race against the clock (still failed anyways but..I& don’t wanna hear about it!!/hsrs/pf). 😭 I& was feeling pretty inspired when I& made this cause sea’re so cute together and sea did like the drawing when I& showed sear so !! Good positive energy!

I& was trying to go for a bit of an anime style midway cuz I& was tryna make it kinda silly anyways with Pupien pulling her close. And yeaa, the hairstyle is different cause it’s a different J but they’re still a headmate of the J in previous posts before this one.
