Know this is an older post but since OP’s questions aren’t being answered properly and I feel like defending one of my favorite ships today Imma do what I want. Just went a head and made the post here instead of reblogging since I’ve been wanting to make a post like this in a while anyways. A lot more under cut.

CodeGold is J x N. A lot of folks who ship CodeGold ship it in a way of J getting better and treating N better. Of course that isn’t the case for everyone but it’s really black and white to paint every Codegold shipper as “horrible individuals.”

J x N isn’t “proship” or whatever. People just call any ship that they don’t like “proship.” Even more if the relationship isn’t best in source which a lot of folks seem to forget about AUs or fanmade redemptions of those characters/relationships in that context.

It’s also because of the “bully x victim” trope which is fine to not like even if the bully improves but again, not good to paint folks as horrible people over shipping something you(general you) don’t like.

Comship is short for complex/complicated ship, Proship is short for “For shipping” hence “pro = for” and “ship = relationship” meaning a proshipper is someone whose for any shipping, including problematic ones. Proship is not short for “problematic ship” as the misinformationed and disinformed would say. That’s their definition of it, not what proship actually means. Proship is a shipping stance. The proship stance is that you’re for anyone shipping any ship they want, even if you don’t like them, as long as it isn’t harmful to anyone. Of course not every proshipper is the same but with so much misinformation and disinformation about the term it’s unsurprising that a lot of people use the term incorrectly or say they’re “proship” just to mean they’re a problematic person.

Comship is in terms of relationships, it means any relationship that is considered complex or complicated would fall under that but because of how many folks use it incorrectly or associate it only with darkships, I’d say it’s fine and even understandable to not want to use that term. Darkship is becoming more of a known term but it’s exclusively the problematic/taboo ships. It wouldn’t be wrong to use comship to refer to them but it is disingenuous to say a ship is comship and ignore other examples of what comshipping is. Comships are not always darkships.

In short, proshipping is only referring to the shipping stance, comship works as a shipping stance (similar views to proship) and refers to the relationships themselves, darkship refers to problematic/taboo ships and folks who ship them (darkshippers), so while J x N COULD be considered comship BECAUSE of it being a rarepair or being a relationship that’s complicated since it changes how their relationship is in the source material (which is complicated in itself), it isn’t inherently problematic. Not every J x N shipper ships it because of it having the potential of being abusive or some form of a darkship, more of us, including myself, ship it because we like the potential of J x N having a better relationship than they do in source and it simply is that.

It’s honestly so BS how many people keep trying to run a narrative with NO IDEA what they’re talking about. Idc how any one feels about proship, comship, or Codegold itself because ship discourse is so fucking messy that I never intentionally get involved in it a ton but it’s literally so braindead how there wasn’t an issue with CodeGold for a while till some MD twitter fans started being some really nasty mfers to CodeGold shippers and now it’s still has its consequences today with people still spreading misinformation about it and having CodeGold all in their DNIs. Which is fine but the assumption of every CodeGold shipper being a darkshipper or terrible individual is Not it. “Funnier” when the ones who are against CodeGold and actively spread hate about it, send death threats over it, etc. are more worse to those who ship it than J is to N. Because regardless of how anyone feels, to put fictional life over a real being’s own life is BS. A fictional character won’t kill themselves because you told them to kill themselves but a real person could.

To add insult to injury, Aylover was the one who came up with the term “CodeGold” for J x N. She used to be a popular Murder Drones artist who drew a fair bit of shipping content. She deactivated her account on here and Twitter. As far as I know, folks harrassed her over shipping CodeGold and Cyn x N art she made BEFORE the episode came out. Even though she didn’t ship CodeGold as an abusive ship, didn’t ship Cyn x N and deleted her artwork of it, folks STILL harrassed her and considered her to be a horrible individual over that. I don’t know the definitive reason for her deactivating her accounts but I do know she made a post about leaving the MD community due to being harrassed and would be posting more in the TADC community before eventually deleting her accounts entirely. Talks of people harrassing her off the internet were after that. I cherish the ColdGold term even more now because Aylover was genuinely one of my favorite artists ever and to see her do nothing actually wrong just to get harrassed off the internet like this? These people are genuinely pathetic.

It’s another reason why I’m so defensive about shipping CodeGold. It’s genuinely so mindbogging how folks who hate J x N so much because it’s “abusive” are literal harassers themselves.

Ending turn into more of a rant/vent but eh. Hopefully OP gets what I mean but if not, it’s just good for me to get another ColdGold shipcourse post out there.

Ok to celebrate Valentine's day and because I'm bored here are my thoughts on as many murder drones ships as I can think of

Nuzi- nice and sweet ship, just don't think about the age gap

Vuzi- a nice and sweet enemies to lovers

Envy- honestly I don't care for this ship, I don't dislike it but it's not a ship I actively look for fanart of but I don't mind when it does show up

Nuziv or nuvi or envuzi- the best of all worlds, the best ship for these 3 characters (but please decide on a name)

Juzi- it's kinda just vuzi but they never stopped hating each other (toxic Yuri let's gooooo)

Full company/Uzi x N x V x J- honestly the idea of Uzi of all drones stop the robo genocide by banging all the dissembly drones is so funny to me

Tuzi/Tessa x uzi- I'm kinda surprised that this isn't more popular, robot lover x human hater in my opinion it could be great

Cynuzi- it's one of the few ships that involve Cyn that I like

Thuzi- nuzi for people who don't like nuzi

Uzi x Doll- honestly surprised I don't see this more often, rival X main character it's a staple for fandoms

Uzi x Lizzy- bully Yuri or something I'm running out of things to say about Uzi ships

Uzi x Uzi- ah yes because Uzi didn't have enough ships

Oilrose- it's okay but I prefer other ships more

Codegold- I don't like the ship but I also think the part of the fandom that treats it like the most toxic thing ever is dumb

Vhad- eh it's fine but feels like you just want V to be with a guy shorter than her

Nhad- kinda feels like too much of a good thing, like these 2 are too chill and nice for anything interesting to happen

Vizzy- I really like it, I love the idea of 2 people who act like they don't care about anything but also are very gay for each other

Dizzy- I am running out of ways to say that I like yuri

Jessa/rippingroyals- the best ship ever I love it so much. I love that it's either 2 gay idiots who don't know that they're gay for each other or its doomed Yuri, either way it's peak lesbians

Cyn x V- I don't really get this ship, no hate if you ship it but I personally don't vibe with it

Cyn x J- ok I kinda vibe with this but I only really like it when it's just more Jessa angst with J wanting to be with Tessa and Cyn being the closest thing to her

Cyn x thad- I've seen like 1 person ship this and it was pretty cute fan art so it's approved

Khori- I think it's sweet and nice

Nori x Yeva- something something old woman Yuri

Nori x Alice- something something toxic old woman Yuri

Alice x teacher- why does every straight ship in murder drones boils down to crazy girl x chill dude

Cyn x N- I hate this ship. This is one of the few ships that I will judge you for shipping and I will probably block you
