#This prompt reminded me of how weird and intense I was in high school and I appreciate it

I’m now picturing people sending bags of Doritos to the PO Box for Ozzy and maybe Eddie doing a TikTok series of Ozzy trying different flavors and his reactions.
I get so much joy out of the thought of some mother humoring her weird alternative teenage daughter and her friend by driving them to multiple gas stations to buy eighteen bags of Doritos just so they can mail them to some Tiktoker in Illinois.
It is a life or death situation for them and it pays off when Eddie goes live with a bunch of stuff from his PO Box like, “Hey guys, I was gonna open a bunch of shit from my PO since you guys seem to like that but I’ll do that later.”
“Look at this big ass box,” Eddie says, sitting the big ass box in front of him. “This is the biggest yet lightest box I have ever held and it crinkles when I shake it. I am intrigued. Let’s open it.”
Eddie opens the box and peaks inside before he laughs. He dumps out the contents on the table in front of him and laughs harder even as he read the note that fluttered out with all the bags of Doritos, “What the hell, guys? Uh, this is so fucking random, Amy and Rhea. Thank you. They wrote ‘for the one that Ozzy stole.’ This is certainly more than one.”
Eddie sits down and looks at the different flavors of chips, and opens one bag. He hasn’t even taken a chip out when he freezes. He only moves enough to grab his phone and flip the camera around to show Ozzy standing in the doorway.
Eddie whistles over to Ozzy and pats the couch next to him before setting the camera back down so you can see both of them. Eddie addresses the audience and Ozzy, “Since Stevie’s down for the count for the rest of the day and you did a very good job at getting him to lay down, how about we do a taste test.”
Ozzy is very professional and he is technically still on duty, but Steve is currently snoring beneath two heavy comforters in a pitch black room. Ozzy is taking a break and he wants a chip.
His tail wags and wiggles a bit like he’s excited, so there’s one last base to cover, “If this makes you sick, we don’t know why you’re sick. Deal?”
Eddie holds out his hand. Ozzy gives him paw.
“Okay, we’ll start with an original.”

Snow covered courtyards- Oliver Wood
When he'd asked her to the ball he'd been certain she would say no. They'd been friends for a while but never particularly close, simply in the same year and house and therefore knew each other through mutual friends.
He'd always thought she was kind of unattainable, she seemed to always look perfect, she was smart and funny and kind and top of her classes. He never knew why but she always avoided Oliver a little, he spent nights laid in bed listening to Percy's snoring and racking his brains for any reason she might avoid him, an insult from years ago, a history between him and one of her friends but nothing quite came to mind.
It wasn't until a few weeks before the ball that he realised that maybe the reason she avoided him was because she wasn't quite as unattainable as he'd thought. He'd laughed at first when his best friend shrugged that she probably just had a crush on him, mouthful of cereal and a slightly bemused look on his face.
After that conversation he slowly allowed his brain to convince himself she just might like him back. After all why else would she blush when he catches her eye? why would she go to every quidditch game no matter how awful the weather? why would she giggle a little with her friends when he passes?
And so, Oliver Wood let a little spark of hope light in his heart and he began to plan how he would ask her to the ball.
He thought about asking her after they won a quidditch match when he was high on adrenaline but he didn't like the idea of being muddy and sweaty and with the fucking Weasley twins, their relentless teasing playing in his mind before it even happened.
Next he thought about making some production out of it in the great hall like he'd seen a few other people do, but he knew she'd hate being the centre of the entire school's attention.
He contemplated asking her at a party, figuring some liquid courage might make the prospect of asking his dream girl on a date a little easier, but didn't want her to think it was some drunk decision.
He settled on approaching her with a bouquet of flowers and just asking it, after all, he knew he was a good looking guy and most people found him charming if not a little intense. What he didn't think about though was that most people didn't make his heart beat too fast, his hands go clammy, and his words come out a stuttering mess.
Oliver announced to his friends one morning that today was the day he'd ask her out, they'd grinned widely, given him a pep talk, mocked him a little for his nerves and sent him on his way and Oliver had every intention to ask her out.
It was then that Oliver learnt the age old lesson.
Girls travel in packs.
No matter how hard he tried she was surrounded. Between classes, at meals, in the common room, christ even on her way to the bathroom. Whenever he saw her she'd have a gaggle of girls with her all of which would eye him with curiosity and smirks when he attempted to approach.
It took Oliver a further three days of attempting to catch her alone, his friends seeming to find the entire situation funnier by the hour, before it had happened. He'd caught a glimpse of her with Cedric.
Oliver Wood hated Cedric Diggory, hated that he was so often compared to him, hated that he had swoopy hair that made girls swoon, hated that he too was a good quidditch player. His newest reason though to despise the boy who showed him nothing but kindness was that he didn't clam up around her. He talked to her with ease and made her laugh.
If he'd done a little digging, Oliver would have easily found Cedric was a family friend and she viewed him like a brother. Through exasperated mutual friends sick of both their pining he'd have probably also learnt she had a massive crush on Oliver and had turned down multiple boys in the hopes Oliver would ask her to the ball.
He didn't dig though. Instead he scowled in the direction of Cedric and her, they were laughing by the quidditch pitch as the Hufflepuff practice ended and the Gryffindor's arrived for their own. She had been on her way to the greenhouses to grab a book she'd accidentally left there when Cedric had jogged over, unknown to Oliver actually asking if the Gryffindor had plucked up the nerve to ask her out. She had brushed her friend off, thinking it would be a miracle for Oliver Wood to fancy her back.
"Hurry up Wood, she's a good one, she'll get swept up all too soon," Fred smirks as he passes Oliver on his way into the changing rooms.
And with Fred's words in his mind Oliver grabs the bouquet of flowers from the office and marches towards her, Cedric spotting him coming and quickly taking his leave.
"Hi," He calls, cursing himself for not thinking to say her name when she doesn't even turn around, not used to him approaching her, "Hi-Y/N,"
She turns then, still clad in her uniform, hair blowing in the light wind and a small smile on her face.
"Oliver-uh-hey," She blushes a little as she falls over her words
"You're a really hard girl to get on her own," He comments. Fucking christ why does he sound like a stalker? The question spins in his mind but she seems to not think anything of the comment, instead blushing a little
"Oh- my friends and I are kinda inseperable," She shrugs lightly, not wanting an awkward silence so instead opting to ramble "They only aren't here now cause they are busy. Meg's at detention, Ali's with her boyfriend and Katie's tutoring some second year in potions. I'd have waited for one of them to be with me because honestly I kind of hate walking alone- not cause I'm weird or un-independent or any thing, I just, well I get a little anxious and feel like people are staring at me and-" She silences herself, suddenly coming to her senses and realising how crazy she's making herself sound. "Sorry,"
"Don't be. I think it's cute when you ramble," He admits, blushing as red as his quidditch robes when he realises what he's said.
"Did you need something or have I just embarrassed myself over a polite hello?" She questions, he chuckles a little making her feel mildly less uncomfortable.
"I was actually wondering if you wanted to go to the ball?" He questions. He feels a weight off his shoulder's once the question has been asked. Like suddenly even if she says no at least he could tell himself he tried.
"With you?" She questions, she realises she probably sounds more idiotic by the second but can't quite convince herself to believe her long term crush would actually ask her out.
"Uh-yeah," He's taken aback by the question and feels stupid for even thinking she'd consider it and suddenly the even if she says no bullshit is just that, because shit if the girl in front of him with wide eyes and a nervous smile doesn't say yes he thinks his heart might break in his chest.
"Like a date?"
"I was hoping,"
"I'd love that,"
Oliver feels like the luckiest person on earth. Watching as she blushes a little, but her smile is wide and god if he doesn't want to kiss her right there.
"Great,"
"Good,"
"Cool,"
"Yeah,"
Neither of them is quite sure what comes next and the interaction seems to run even more awkward. "You'll pick her up!" Oliver rolls his eyes at the sound of George Weasley, although thankful for the prompt, she blushes, peering behind him to see the entire Gryffindor quidditch team watching them.
"I'll pick you up," He confirms
"Right," She nods
"At 7? Outside your dorm?"
"Sounds good,"
"Okay," He grins brightly, still thinking this entire thing is his mind playing some cruel tricks on him.
"So you should go, your team awaits," She reminds, he nods, partly wanting the interaction over before he can make even more of a fool out of himself or ruin something before it even has a chance to start and partly wanting to live in this moment of pure joy for the rest of his life.
"Right, so I'll uh- see you at the ball- and- uhm- around before obviously," He stutters a little
"Great, I'll see you in both those places," She confirms, realising only after she's spoken how idiotic she sounds.
"The flowers Wood! Christ you're bad at this!" Fred shouts
"Always thought he had game," Harry comments
"We all did kid," George agrees.
"Sorry about them," Oliver apologises
"It's okay," She smiles gently, waiting patiently as he stands staring wondering why her eyes are flickering from him, to his team to his hands and-
"Oh right, these are for you," He confirms, passing the bouquet over and grinning when she blushes a little
"Thanks Oli,"
"Any time," He nods
**
When she pulls open her dorm door Oliver is certain time stops.
She looks like an angel, her makeup perfect, hair flowing in curls with a small section pinned back as to see her face clearly, Oliver is certain nothing else has ever looked as beautiful. She's dressed in a golden gown that shimmers in the light and makes her look like a princess.
"You- I mean- it- you look beautiful," He stammers over his words and his face goes redder by the second but she smiles at him
"Thank you Oli," She smiles up at him and when their eyes meet both of them feel their hearts hammering in their chests.
"You ready?" He questions, she nods, smiling when he grabs her arm in his and they walk together to the hall.
The hall looks like something out of a fairytale. Seeming to glow an ice white, lined with glittering trees and a glance at the ceiling showing a sky full of stars that gleamed in the air.
"You want to dance?" Oliver questions, eyes falling to the already slightly crowded dance floor, the students dancing to the waltz that plays.
"Think you might loose a foot if we try," She admits, glancing at the girls who swirl around the floor effortlessly and feeling a little self conscious she can't do the same.
"It'd be worth it," He grins, pulling her along with him.
"Hey Oli?"
"Yeah?" He questions as they come to the edge of the dance floor
"These heels are really high. Please don't let me fall,"
"I've got you," He assures, smiling when he notices her physically loosen the panic in her eyes dissipating.
It takes them a few stumbles and a couple of toe treads but eventually they pick up the dance. He watches with a grin as she stares at her feet in focus and with time, and a few glasses of the punch Fred and George spiked, she relaxes, feeling at ease in his arms and becoming more comfortable with the slightly confusing dancing.
Oliver whispers commentary about the ball that makes her laugh and he loves the way she talks with such excitement that he can't help but follow along with every word. He's pretty sure in that moment he could die happy and she's almost certain this is the best night of her life.
As the minutes tick into hours they become more and more comfortable with each other, sure there's still an awkward teenagers with crushes layer to the conversation, but they learn they have a lot in common and find it easy to make small talk that they both actually enjoy.
"Do you wanna go get some air?" She questions at around 11, the dancing has changed from formal waltzing to jumping around to the band who'd been hired for the event and they were both hot and a little sticky from the crowd.
He nods in confirmation and smiles to himself when she immediately takes his hand in hers to pull him along behind her, she seems to have no idea he'd follow her to the ends of the earth if she asked.
She takes him to a small moonlit, snow covered, empty courtyard.
"Anyone would think you wanted to get me alone," He teases lightly, she blushes a little but playfully shoves him
"Maybe I did," She shrugs, he grins cockily "Or maybe it was a little crowded in there and I'm a polite date who didn't want to just abandon you," She isn't quite sure where her newfound confidence around Oliver is coming from
"I'm going to go with the first option," He grins, she laughs a little before shivering at the cold December breeze that wraps around them. He's quick to shrug of his black formal jacket, wrapping it around her shoulders and blushing when she leans up to press a kiss to his cheek in thanks.
"You wanna dance?" She questions, he laughs a little at the idea of leaving a ball to go and dance but nods.
Her arms wrap around his neck as his circle her waist, he hums gently and she smiles a she glances up at him. Oliver Wood looks like a god in the moonlight and she thanks her lucky stars that it's her who got to be in that moment with him.
They dance slowly, eventually pulling each other closer. She laughs when he twirls her under his arm and he grins when her hands begin to brush through the ends of his hair.
"Tell me something," She speaks quietly, his arms pulling her even closer.
"What do you wanna know?"
"Anything about you," She decides, he takes a deep breath, figuring now's probably the best moment he'll ever get to tell her this.
"I've had a crush on you since first year,"
"You have?" She sounds shocked and he can't help but laugh at the idea of her not realising he's practically head over heels for her
"I have," He confirms with a grin
"Why'd you never say anything?" She questions. Her heart feels like it's beating a million miles a minute and she's almost certain he can feel it
"You kinda avoided me," he shrugs
"Yeah I did," She laughs
"Why'd you do that?"
"I was scared to make a fool out of myself," She admits
"Yeah I get that," He nods
"You do? You always seem so- I don't know- at ease,"
"Around everyone but you I kinda am," He shrugs, she blushes a little at that. "You wanna know something else?" He questions.
They're still swaying a little but there's not much movement at their feet, instead the entire thing looks like a loving embrace and she figured to an extent it kind of was.
"Sure,"
"All night I've thinking about if I were to try and kiss you. If you'd kiss back or you'd pull away and laugh in my face and I'd have made a fool of myself," His words leave her breathless and his charming grin only makes it better
"There's only one way to know for sure," She whispers.
His lips crash to hers in the moonlit courtyard, the snow falling around them. It's slow and gentle. Holding years of emotion and there's no need to rush, in that moment they both know they have forever to hold each other this close. It's a little toothy from both their wide grins but as his hands cup her cheeks she's sure nothing has ever been as perfect as this moment and the boy she's sharing it with.

Supreme Super family gets sucked up into WandaVision(let's imagine Tony's alive in this or is from the multiverse). Ironstrange think they're married with a high school kid. Tony is a science teacher, strange is town doctor, and peter is a regular kid. No memories of they're real life. Rhody, Pepper, and Aunt May and Morgan could be added to this too if you wanted.
OHHO! Sorry it took me so long to reply to this; I had to finish the show, for one thing, and then my brain started going all sorts of places with the prompt... and well. I have on heck of a ramble coming, so buckle up!
(Also, spoilers through the series, so watch out!)
— — —
It starts with a question on Vision’s job application.
That’s all. So simple, so innocuous, so innocent. Vision is casually recording information that he doesn’t yet realize he can’t remember, and he arrives at a line that asks his family history. It’s nothing complex, left on the application only because Wanda’s subconscious had glossed over the question. So does Vision’s, as a result. But he wants this job. They want to fit in, and so they answer the question truthfully.
Vision writes ‘Stark’, unaware. ‘Tony Stark.’
And pop. Just like that.
On the edge of Westview, there suddenly is and has always been a small, well-kept mechanic’s shop. It’s run by an aging man with a bright mind and a brighter smile. He’s lived here since he came back from the war, but no one knows for how long. And he has no memory—no memory at all—of what came before.
Of the round scar in the center of his chest.
He doesn’t need to know. No one needs to know; he’s just a side character, after all. Just the answer to a line on a job application.
Just so that something, anything, about Vision’s life here isn’t a lie.
-
Yeah, so Tony gets manifested within the Hex—but because he’s one of Wanda’s creations and not someone being mind-controlled, he is able to exist with agency within Westview. He has no reason, however, to believe anything is amiss; he’s been resurrected only to play a character, and his memories and surface-level motivations only extend to the limits of that character.
But Wanda has other regret. Wanda has other anger and understanding and forgiveness and gratefulness, and she knew Tony Stark, once.
She knew his worst nightmare—and it’s easy to craft a soul from that, really.
(But it’s fine, of course it’s fine. Tony has no reason to pull down the walls of that hidden spirit. He’s content in his role, just like Vision. So it’s fine.
… Right?)
-
Agatha stands at the base of a towering barrier with her hands on her hips. One side of her mouth is quirked up into a considering, scheming smile, and her magic probes out around her curiously. This is the source of the power she’d felt; she’s sure of it. The spell work… the instinctual, unconscious spell work is so intense she can almost taste it.
How is it possible? What’s the secret?
Agatha must know. And besides; this is the most interesting thing that’s happened to her since the seventeenth century.
She’s about to reach out, about to cross into the heart of the magic, when she hears it. A footstep. Quiet and dark and making no attempt at stealth.
Agatha grips her magic. “Who’s there?” she demands.
Someone steps out of the trees. A human, Agatha thinks, though you can never be sure nowadays. He wears a hood of green and his hands are dark where they hang at his sides.
“Witch,” the figure declares.
Agatha raises an eyebrow. “Can I help you?”
“Yes,” says Karl Mordo. “I rather think you can.”
-
Okay, cut to New York. Stephen Strange is exhausted, wrung dry trying to keep the edges of the universe from deteriorating now that the stabilization factors of the Infinity Stones have been destroyed. One task runs into the next, one morning into the night. One future into all the others.
But Stephen likes the work; it keeps his mind in one place. He’s always alert these days. Always listening.
So when someone calls out to him from New Jersey, he can hear.
It’s Mordo luring him in, of course, but he doesn’t know that yet. After Dormammu, and certainly after all those futures, Stephen has too much experience for Mordo to hope to get the better of. The old Master is still dedicated to his ‘too many sorcerers’ shebangerang, though, so he’s employed help. Maybe he can kill two birds with one stone. Two world-threateningly powerful magic users with one stone.
Stephen follows the call, because of course he does. It sounds like a call for help; what else is he supposed to do? The kelpie situation in the Thames can wait. Wong waves him off, tells him to be careful without much hope of Stephen listening, and takes over the Sanctum for the few hours Stephen intends to be gone.
(It’s not for a few hours.)
-
But there’s someone else we should mention before we see what Westview has planned for Stephen. See, a certain spider-kid has just had his identity outed, and his only allies once called themselves Nick Fury and Maria Hill.
Nick Fury and Maria Hill, Peter discovers, are not Nick Fury and Maria Hill.
“You’re aliens?” Peter demands, his hands warding the space in front of him.
Of course they’re aliens, part of him sighs. Of course. Why wouldn’t one more thing just go crazy in his life? Why let him remember what ‘normal’ even felt like? Why the hell not?
“Er, yes,” says not-Fury. “My name is Talos. But we do still want to help you.”
Helping Peter doesn’t go according to plan. See, the Skrull try to approach SWORD for Monica Rambaeu’s help regarding the kid who saved their lives, but Monica has disappeared.
Talos only turns around for two seconds. Really, it’s only a moment. But when he turns back, Peter Parker has disappeared, too.
-
“Woah.”
Stephen stops, a hand coming up to shield his third eye as he squints into the absolute maelstrom of power swirling in a hexagonal wall in front of him. It doesn’t feel like the Order’s magic—not like something of the Mystic Arts. It’s something far more human and gritty. Stephen’s perception can’t extend through it. He frowns.
He takes a step forward, the Cloak swirling around his ankles, and begins to stitch his mental walls into place. His wards are strong, even unconsciously.
That’s probably what saves him, in all honesty.
Two strong, human hands plant themselves in the small of Stephen’s back and shove him into the barrier. Stephen opens his mouth to yell, raises his hands to cast a spell— but blue and red are surrounding him now. Devouring him, now. They lick at his mind, slamming against unbreakable walls.
But they are unbreakable too.
Stephen disappears.
-
(Mordo used a portal to get behind him and knock him into the Hex, btw.)
It’s those hasty mental walls that keep Stephen from being completely consumed into the Westview spells. He is not fully mind-controlled, nor is he left half-animated and frozen like most people near Ellis Avenue. But there is one main rule of Wanda Maximoff’s Westview, and that, Stephen can’t escape completely.
‘No one remembers outside.’
Stephen doesn’t. In fact, he doesn’t remember anything at all.
-
Tony Stark finds the man lying on the side of the road. He’s just finished dropping his kid Peter off at the Westview high school (it hasn’t occurred to him that it’s weird how he never sees the boy’s classmates. Or that Peter never seems to have stories from school. Or that the kid is always waiting in the exact same place that Tony dropped him off at whenever Tony comes to pick him up. Tony has no reason to think too hard; he’s just a side character—right?).
“Uh, hi?” Tony pauses, the car puffing it’s irritation when he stops it too quickly. He cranks down the window and leans out.
The man blinks, slowly, at the sky. He sits up hesitantly, like he hasn’t noticed Tony, and rubs his hand across his face. He pulls it away after a moment and frowns at it. Tony wonders why he looks so confused—it’s not like there’s anything wrong with the man’s hand. No scars or anything.
“Hi, sir,” Tony says again. “Are you alright?”
The man jumps. He looks over at Tony—and there’s something weird about his eyes. Something… really weird. (Color, says a voice in the back of his mind that he hasn’t heard for a very, very long time. That’s color.)
“Who are you?” Tony asks. He parks the car completely now.
The man looks down at his hands again. “I’m—” he begins. He’s frowning again.
“Come on now,” Tony encourages. “How hard can it be?”
The man tugs at the scarf around his neck—and it must be windier than Tony thought, because the edges of it are swaying as if of their own accord— and swallows.
“I don’t know,” he says.
-
So of course Tony brings Stephen back with him. He prods at the man until Stephen manages to blurt out ‘Doctor Stephen Strange’ for no reason either of them can remember. But it makes Stephen relax, a little, to have it on his tongue.
Tony catches Stephen staring at him after that. A lot. When he asks him why, Stephen has no clear answer; just a vague “you remind me of someone.” For Stephen’s part, all he knows is that seeing Tony gives him an indistinct sense of relief. Like he’d been missing someone deeply, and has now found it again.
Still. He can’t quite put his finger on it. Just like he can’t quite put his finger on why his hands don’t hurt when he tries to write…
-
Vision visits Tony, sometimes, whenever he remembers, or whenever someone in the town mentions the old mechanic. He brings Wanda. They have fun, but Vision always goes home feeling slightly baffled. And Tony always feels like something hurts, deep in the center of his chest.
Vision likes his adopted younger brother. (And Peter gets along just fine with the twins, too, when they come along, so Wanda doesn’t change anything about it). But when the man with the bright eyes stares at him with just a bit too much calculation on his face, Vision starts to be reminded of… things. Of suspicions. Of Geraldine and how she had no home and no history. And he doesn’t quite look Wanda in the eye that dinner.
“What do you do?” Wanda asks, her voice a little hard, a little suspicious. Vision tries not to wince. Whatever it is she’s not telling him, this man at his father’s dinner table reminds her of it.
Tony flips his fork, balancing it like one might a wrench. “Stephen’s a doctor,” he says.
Wanda’s face flickers. “That’s funny,” she says blankly. “Because no one in this town ever needs one.”
-
For a while, Tony Stark didn’t see anything amiss here. He was created, was consistent, was emptily and vaguely pleased. But Tony Stark is Tony Stark, whatever character he’s been told to play. Tony Stark wants to help people.
And this man, this strange doctor with the eyes that would sometimes go blank for long minutes and the tears that would stain sharp cheeks for a reason he claimed not to remember, needs help.
So Tony Stark begins to scratch at Wanda’s walls.
-
“What do you mean he’s here?”
“I mean your little plan didn’t work,” Agatha says. She stands on the edge of Westview, speaking through a mirror of magic to the man outside. She’s liking this sorcerer less and less the more she works with him—but he has been rather helpful so far, so she continues to put up with him.
“Does he remember?”
“No,” Agatha says. “The dad that Wanda made up for Vision has taken him in. It’s kind of adorable, actually.”
“Hm.” Mordo’s mouth twists. “You’ll finish the job?”
Agatha shrugs nonchalantly. “Sure. When I get around to it.”
“You don’t want to wait. Deal with Strange now, before he remembers how to be a threat.”
Agatha laughs. It’s brittle, fully conveying her hostility. “Ha, my good sorcerer, listen. Unless you want to come in here and do the job yourself, you’ll let me handle this my way.”
Agatha’s way involves getting to the bottom of things, of course. And that’s rather convenient… because Vision has begun to try to do the same thing.
— — — —
Okay that’s all I have for now? The other bits are still solidifying in my mind, and it’s basically all Horrible Angst. I hope this scratches a little of the itch of your ask, though! Feel free, anyone, to add onto this if you’d like! I really enjoyed the show, and I think it has some really awesome AU potential.
Thanks for the ask!!!

S/o Loses Memory and Quirk
Kaminari Denki HCs
Genre: Angst
Warnings: Language, violence, mentions broken bones, a panic attack, panic attack symptoms, sad Denki
A/N: Ngl writing angst for Denki did something to my little heart. He only deserves happiness and I’m mad at myself for giving him sadness lol. Anyways, I hope you enjoy! I’ll be writing one like this for All Might next so keep your eyes peeled for that one!
Shinsou, Aizawa, Hawks, and Dabi
Todoroki, Bakugou, and Kirishima
Tumblr media
Kaminari Denki | Chargebolt
You are his partner in crime
You’re the one who is always there to take care of him when he goes dumb
You’re the one who is always there to comfort him when he feels like an idiot
You’re always the one who is there for him
And he’s always the one who is there for you
It’s been that way for years
Ever since you transferred to UA your second year of high school
The two of you became fast friends
Best friends even
And his flirty nature made it so it wasn’t too long before the two of you entered a real relationship
The two of you EXUDE the most chaotic good energy that even Bakugou finds it kind of endearing
But unbeknownst to his friends
Denki can get really fucking serious when it comes to you
It lowkey shocked you the first time you saw him act like that
And it was all because you were sparring with him and you tripped over your own damn foot and face planted
You figured he’d just point and laugh at you but he ran over and checked you EVERYWHERE to make sure you weren’t hurt
mans even SCOLDED you
YOU WERE SCOLDED BY DENKI KAMINARI
But you lowkey LOVED it because like
Wow
He does like me !!!
Of course that was in your final year at UA
The two of you are now pro-heroes at separate agencies
And boy oh boy does Denki worry about you
He can’t help it
He has seen you run into a wall because you were trying to rely on scent instead of sight “in case you get stuck in a dark room with a villain”
He worries
But he also knows you are strong
And also a hot badass who can take on anyone
Well
Almost anyone
Midoriya could probably kick your ass but that’s just because it’s Midoriya
But in all seriousness
He isn’t even patrolling today
He has the day off actually
And Denki has never baked anything before in his life
But
He knows that there’s been this mysterious villain giving your agency some trouble recently
So he wants to make you some of your favorite cookies
Or at least try to
And then have a lil movie night
He’s a clingy little shit
And he wants to destress you so
He will refuse to let go of you for the rest of the night goddamnit!
So there he is
Taking the semi-burnt but still edible cookies out of the oven
His favorite program on in the background
When suddenly
His show gets interrupted
And the hero scanner the two of you have goes off in your living room
He immediately turns his attention to the television
Stopping in the middle of the kitchen
Still holding the cookies
When he sees live footage of you falling from a 3 story building
Onto concrete
He drops the pan
And literally sprints out of the door
He doesn’t even have shoes on
But he doesn’t give a single Fuck™
He rushes down the stairs of the apartment building the two of you live in
And gets to his car in record time
Mans be speeding to the hospital he knows you’re gonna be at
You two had a plan in place with each other and your agencies that if anything would happen to either of you
You would both go to this specific hospital so you two could know where the other was at all times
Of course he was crying while speeding
And his heart rate was way too fast for him to be functioning
But he had to get to you
He had to
And he did
He pulled into a parking spot reserved for pro-heroes and ran inside the emergency room
When he asked about you the nurse told him you were currently in surgery for some severe bone breaks
He got a nasty taste in his mouth
But he just nodded
She told him he could wait in the waiting room
And he did
He sat down in a chair
And he was trying so hard to keep it together
So
SO
Hard
But eventually Kirishima, Mina, Sero, and even Bakugou showed up
To be fair
Mina and you did work at the same agency
So she saw everything that happened
They immediately went over to him
And he looked up at Mina
And deadass this is the first time any of them see how genuinely serious Denki can get
He asks Mina what happened
And she hesitates
But his face is dead serious
There are obviously tears leaking out of his eyes
But his stare is wildly intense
And Mina knows that if she says no he’ll just keep asking or ask someone else at the agency
So she tells him
“Well… we were patrolling, like usual, when that villain that’s been keeping us on our toes showed up. They’ve never… done anything other than rob people and knock them out so we thought hey this should be easy. Especially since (Y/n) was there. When they saw us they ran into a building and we chased after them and when we had them cornered on the roof they did this weird… sneak attack? But not really? I don’t know it was… odd, they had this like patterned fight technique and they hit (Y/n) in a few different places, and she went to use her quirk to fight back but… nothing happened… and then they hit her like at the bottom of her skull and she just… fell down unconscious. And then they… threw her… off…”
She started trailing off at the end because a sob tore through Denki’s throat
And then he started hyperventilating
Luckily Bakugou and Kirishima were there to help him out
They get panic attacks frequently, so they managed to calm him down and get him to breathe again
And they stayed with him for as long as they had to
Eventually after hours
A doctor came out and approached Denki
“Pro Hero Chargebolt?”
He stands up very fast
He’s informed that you are out of surgery
And that the surgery went well
However they noticed something odd in your MRI results
It seemed that a portion of your brain was damaged?
But not quite
It was still functioning
But something about it was off
And they had never seen anything like it before
It was like certain parts of your brain were blocked but everything else was fine
Upon hearing this Denki’s heart broke
And then after hearing the part of your brain that was impacted was the part that contained long term memories
His heart shattered
“We’re afraid she may have severe amnesia. We’re going to keep running tests to see just what is going on, we think it’s the quirk of that villain. A lot of the victims of their crimes have blockages in their muscle groups, but we’ve never seen a blockage in the brain from them.”
Denki is quiet
He literally doesn’t say anything
Until he whispers
“Can i see her?”
The doctor nods
And he leads him to your room
You’re still asleep
And you’re covered in bandages and casts
It breaks his heart
His friends texted him to tell him they went home but if he needs them at any minute that they will be on their way to the hospital in ten seconds flat
He appreciates it
But right now he really just wanted to be alone with you
He just sat next to you
Holding your hand
He was even moving your pointer finger to trace the Lichtenberg Figures trailing up and down his arms
You always do it when the two of you are cuddling at night
It helps him sleep
And reminds him that you love him regardless of his faults
And right now he just
He really needs you
This goes on for an hour before he feels you start to move
And he freezes
“(Y/n?”
You open your eyes
And squint at him
“Uh… h-hi… aren’t you that guy in my new class…?”
He stares at you
Completely deadpan
Before laughing a bit
But it isn’t a happy laugh
It’s very much a sad laugh
“Yeah. Yeah, I am.”
“Cool, but um… how did you know my name already?… Are you crying?”
Yes
He was
He was laughing and crying at the same time
He probably looked like he was losing his mind
But he really did just lose his whole world so
It’s a prompted reaction
“Yeah. Yeah, I am.”
His voice was more strained this time
“Are you… are you okay?”
“Yeah, but you’re not. And I didn’t save you, and now you don’t know who I am, and I’m just… I’m so sorry, babe. I’m so sorry.”
The laughing stopped
Now he’s just sobbing
In your mind
You’d seen him a few times while touring the school
And he was always laughing and smiling
Always
So this was shocking
And you’d be lying if you said it didn’t tug on your heart strings
You instinctively reach out to grab his hand
And he grips onto it so tight
Almost like he’s afraid of letting go
“…You called me babe?”
He tries to even his breathing
But he nods
“I don’t… I don’t even know you, I-”
“You do. You do, but… you don’t. It’s… it’s complicated and I’m a literal dumbass so… I’ll call a doctor. They’ll explain.”
And that he does
And the doctor does in fact explain
And after the doctor leaves
You ask him to tell you about your relationship
And he does
He tells you even the smallest details
From the time that you painted the nail on his right hand middle finger pink because he lost a bet and he ended up liking it and buying nail polish for himself
To the time that you two told everyone you break danced all night to break in your new apartment when in reality he turned on Lover by Taylor Swift and the two of you slow danced in your living room
All of it
And he even managed to slip in the fact that you’d remember all of this after he caught the villain who did this to you
And he will catch them.

Natsuki x comedic!reader
summary: this was a request from someone on quotev, reader is gender neutral!
word count: 3k
You set your bag down next to your usual chair in the Literature Club room before taking a seat in one of the desk chairs. Stretching your arms up high over your head, you suppress a yawn; being stuck in school for an extra hour or so wasn't all that bad, considering you got to see your friends whom you didn't really share any classes with.
"Ugh. You're never the first one here."
A familiar irritated voice catches your attention, and you turn around in your chair to grin at the one and only Natsuki. Your expression brightens even more when you notice what she's carrying.
"Aww! Are those for us?" You coo, rising quickly from your chair to hurry over to the short pink-haired girl standing by the entrance to the room, examining the tray of muffins in her hands.
Immediately Natsuki recoils away from you, reminding you so much of a stray cat who never received enough love in their life. The thought makes you snort to yourself as she even straight up hisses, "Wh- these aren't for- I mean- they're for the club! But they aren't for, like, you and me!"
You listen to her fierce but confusing denial politely, your smile softening but never completely disappearing. She could get so riled up sometimes over the tiniest things.
Natsuki's blush is apparent, and you're highly tempted to make some sort of joking comment comparing her to something, when she suddenly backs up too far and collides with the doorframe of the classroom behind her. She squeaks, the tray suddenly seeming very shaky in her hands as she struggles to regain her balance to keep herself from toppling to the floor.
Not missing a beat, you reach out to catch the tray just as it slips from her hands, only narrowly managing to avoid watching the muffins spill all over the place.
Feeling pretty proud of yourself for that nice save, you hold the tray up triumphantly with one hand, showing off just a little bit as you smirk at Natsuki. "Well, what do you think? Have I earned the right to have at least one of these most-delightfully-baked-goods?"
She's fumbling for a response, ego most definitely wounded.
You lower the tray again, adding teasingly, "Alas, if you can't spare even one little muffin, I suppose we could work out some kind of arrangement?" You pause and hum, tapping your chin thoughtfully with one finger from your free hand, pretending to think for a moment. "How's about, say, three years of your devoted friendship? That about equals the rescued lives of- onetwothreefourfiveand... six muffins, wouldn't you agree?" You say, making a small show out of counting them.
Natsuki glares at you with scorching magenta eyes, stuttering over her words so much ('don't compare her to Yuri even as a joke, she will kill us right here and now, Y/N.') that you start to worry if maybe you've gone too far in teasing her today- not everyone appreciates your jokes, but you usually got the impression that Natsuki actually kind of liked them... even if she acted like she didn't. Normally, you could literally see her trying her best to fight back a giggle, but this time she seemed more sensitive for whatever reason.
"Ah, Natsuki-"
Whatever half-assed attempt at an awkward apology you were about to come up with was interrupted, of course, by your ever-excitable mutual friend Sayori launching herself into the classroom with all the unrestrained joy of an elementary schooler, exclaiming, "Y/N! You're never here this early- and you brought snacks??"
Sayori leans too close into your personal space to inspect the muffins before deciding, "Wait, no- these look too good to be yours, I bet Natsuki-" She glances over her shoulder to see the baker in question and exclaims, "So you did make them! Hey, thanks!"
Natsuki, still attempting to recover from her previous flustered state, huffs, refusing to look at either of you two. "Y-Yeah, it's no big deal..."
Sayori is already reaching over to snag one of the muffins; you have no doubt in mind that she was the reason Natsuki made six treats instead of five.
You try to catch Natsuki's eye so you could feign some good ol' exaggerated exasperation with the way Sayori ate like such a child, and how tactless she could be, but the short girl was doing her absolute best to continue ignoring your entire presence.
Yikes, maybe you actually had seriously offended her... or maybe it was just something else entirely that had upset her so much...?
Before you had the chance to really think too much about what could be bothering Natsuki, the other members of the Literature Club arrived for the usual after school meeting, first Yuri and then shortly after Monika, both apologizing for being tardy even though they weren't that late at all.
"Oh, Natsuki brought snacks?" Inquires Monika as she notices the muffin tray you had set down on a desk a couple of minutes ago. "Let's all have them before we do any reading or discussions today."
Sayori beams at the club president's words, having already polished off her first muffin and now eager for yet another. You didn't blame her, Natsuki was a great baker, but sheesh, with the way Sayori had inhaled it, you wondered if she even tasted it at all.
You try yet again to send Natsuki a warm smile in the hopes of cheering her up somehow, but she was still steadfastly pretending you didn't exist, apparently, and so your efforts were futile.
Resigned to your fate, you help Monika push some of the desks together to form a makeshift table that everyone settled down at, each club member taking a muffin for themselves and starting to dig in.
"No complaints, Sayori?" You hum after the first bite when you realize what the flavor of these particular muffins is.
Your energetic friend is probably eating too quickly to really notice, as you originally suspected, and she simply blinks at you, confused.
"What do you mean 'complaints'?" Natsuki pipes up sharply, though her voice is wavering which makes you think she actually cares quite a lot about what others- maybe even you in particular- think of her baking prowess.
You shake your head defensively, chuckling a little. "Don't shoot, don't shoot! It's just, they're blueberry. Sayori can be such a kid sometimes, so I-"
"Do you not like them?" Natsuki snaps, making you wish, not for the first time, that you could finish a sentence around these girls.
"Ah- nono, I do! It's really good! I just was- uhm-" You struggle to find the right words to defend yourself under her heated glare. Why was Natsuki taking everything you said so personally today?
"Y/N was only joking," Monika, bless her soul, steps in calmly with the patience of a saint to try and smooth out the situation before it was given the chance to escalate any further. "You know how they can be."
Wow, okay, ouch.
You dramatically place a hand over your heart. "Why, Monika! You wound me." And honestly, there was a teensy bit of truth buried and hidden underneath your dumb joke. Just because you liked to cover up any feelings of discontentment in an effort to find the tiniest semblance of humor in just about any scene of life didn't mean you went around purposely hurting the feelings of those around you. Or... did you? Shoot, now you weren't sure anymore.
Sayori laughs out loud at your over the top display, and you notice even Yuri is trying to hide a smile behind her muffin, her violet eyes almost unnerving with the way they follow your every movement.
But you aren't really paying attention to any of them at the moment, so much so that you don't even process Monika's reply. Your focus is purely on Natsuki.
She's not glaring directly at you anymore, but down at her hands which are clasped together in her lap.
You clear your throat; being serious wasn't your thing, but you still wanted to give it a try- for her. Softly, in the hopes of not letting the rest of the girl's overhear your words, you begin, "Natsuki, I..."
"It is strange, though." Yet again you are interrupted! If it had been Sayori, you would have been openly frustrated with her, but this time it's Yuri's shy self who has at last decided to share something of her thoughts with the group.
A beat of silence. “What’s strange?” Monika prompts when Yuri doesn’t continue her train of thought.
The violet-haired girl jolts a little, as if she hadn’t realized she’d spoken out loud. “Ah- just that- uhm- I was just thinking… Natsuki usually bakes cupcakes for us instead of muffins,” she explains timidly.
Huh. Weird observation, but Yuri kinda had a point.
Natsuki stiffens, sending a scowl in Yuri’s direction. “You don’t have to psychoanalyze literally everything, y’know. Life isn’t always like one of your dumb novels where you have to make up deeper meanings for when one doesn’t exist.”
You exchange a swift glance with Monika- lately, you and the club president had sort of been tag teaming helping each other lately to diffuse conflict within the Literature Club. Most often, the offenders were the same as the ones now: Natsuki and Yuri. Monika’s method of smoothing over issues was calmly and kindly, whereas you tended to take a more comedic route where angry grumbles could dissolve into grudging laughter.
Since it was technically your turn to step in and try to solve some conflict before either girl burst into tears, you interject with the first set-up for a joke that pops into your head.
“Heh, careful, Natsuki. I think you might give Yuri a new idea for one of her poems.” You face the taller girl as you continue, “Here, I’ll help you with the topic- ‘muffins- are they just ugly cupcakes?’ Yeah, just throw in some fancy language and stuff and-“
You can tell by everyone’s expressions that you’ve made a misstep somewhere here in your delivery, but then Yuri reaches up with one hand as she tries to mask her smile, and you’re intensely relieved you didn’t hurt her feelings.
Somehow, though, it seemed someone else was hurt.
Natsuki stood up abruptly from her chair, the sound of it’s metal legs grating on the floor causing you to wince. “Can you be serious for once?”
She doesn’t wait for your response, just turns on her heel to grab her cute pink backpack and then stalk out of the room, slamming the door shut behind her.
“Sheesh, what did I say….?” You sigh heavily, combing a hand through your hair. You were so frustrated with both yourself and Natsuki.
Sayori gave you a sympathetic pat on the shoulder, already standing up to go check on Natsuki, but Monika’s timelessly intelligent emerald gaze was fixed on you with a thoughtfulness that seemed beyond her years, and it did not move away from you when she spoke to Sayori. “No, let’s have Y/N go and talk things out with her.”
You cringe. “Won’t that just make things worse?” You worry, shaking your head. “I mean, call me crazy, but I don’t think I’ll be getting an award for being her favorite person anytime soon, Monika…”
A faint smile crosses Monika’s face. “Mm, I think you’d be surprised. Just go and talk with her, and please hurry before you miss her. I’d hate to lose a club member, especially one as talented as Natsuki.”
You stand up, a bit alarmed by the assumption your club president was making here. What, just because of one little spat it was presumed Natsuki would quit the Literature Club altogether? That would never happen!
….Would it?
You weren’t keen on taking your chances of finding out, so you hastily made your exit from the classroom, looking around the school halls and seeing just a flash of pink disappear around the corner to your right.
You hurry after Natsuki, glancing around uncertainly- you were pretty sure you weren’t allowed to roam the halls like this after classes were over, even if you were in a club. Plus, it seemed like Natsuki wasn’t actually leaving the school building at all, she was heading for the roof.
You don’t call her name for fear of being reprimanded by some annoying teacher or other staff, so you kept quiet as you trailed after your friend up some flights of stairs; if she was aware of your presence, she said nothing- you were mostly sure that she would’ve snapped at you to go away if she had noticed you.
At last you make it to the door that went out to the roof of the school building, which had just closed behind Natsuki. Tentatively, you push it open as quietly as possible and take a small peek outside to survey the situation.
Natsuki is sitting on a small bench with her back still to you, her attention apparently fixed on the horizon.
“Wow, they have benches up here?” You ask, finally making your presence known as you step out onto the roof and allow the door to drift shut behind you.
Natsuki starts, glancing back over her shoulder to see you, and her eyes narrow when you offer her a hesitant smile. “If you’re here to apologize, you can just leave.” Her voice is sharp, but you can sense that she sounds almost, defeated in a way.
You shrug, wandering over to sit down next to her, looking towards the sky. “Good thing I wasn’t planning on apologizing, then.”
She huffs, purposely scooting away from you so that she was right on the edge of the bench. “Look, what makes you think I want your company?”
“I dunno. Maybe I just wanted to explain what I meant for my own sake. My reputation and all that?”
She purses her lips together. “Go ahead then,” she mutters wearily.
“I never mean to offend you or anybody else with my jokes. I just kinda, joke around a lot, it’s not something I ever even think about doing, it just happens.” You pause, sighing dramatically as if the weight of the world has been taken off of your shoulders. “Boy, it’s been so long since I’ve held onto that secret. “So… now it’s your turn.”
At last the pink-haired girl looks at you, mildly confused. “My turn to do what?”
“Share a secret,” you clarify playfully.
Natsuki immediately shakes her head, a brilliant blush painting her cheeks. “Wh- never!”
You laugh. “Okay, alright, point taken. How about this then: how was your day?”
Natsuki calms down somewhat, apparently actually considering your question. You realize she seems… sad, somehow. “It was… whatever.”
“Did you bake the muffins this morning or-?” You ask idly.
“No, last night.” She pauses, glancing away again to stare at the sky, and you got the sense she was somewhere else in her memories, not fully present with you on this school roof now. “I was… going to decorate them this morning, but then I just. Had to leave.”
“Ah, so you’re one of those tardy students, aren’t you?” You tease as gently as possible.
She exhales in a long, frustrated breath. “For your information, I got to school a few hours early actually.”
You have very few puzzle pieces of this mystery to try and fit together, and you wish she’d stop being so- mysterious about this whole thing. You hadn’t noticed before today, but you knew very little about Natsuki, aside from the facts that she liked manga (probably anime too), baking, writing, the color pink, cute things… you didn’t know anything at all about her home life. You’re tempted to ask just why she was so early, why she couldn’t decorate the muffins, but just as you’re trying to work up the courage and the right words, she saves you the trouble.
“My father…” She trails off, sounding uncharacteristically insecure for once, and her eyes seem too-bright, as if shining with unshed tears. She’s being very vulnerable with you right now, and you’re intensely worried you’re going to mess it up with her somehow, so you keep quiet and wait for her to continue. “He…”
Her voice catches in her throat, not allowing her to continue.
Instantly you lean closer to rest your hand on her hand, causing her to flinch in shock at the unexpected touch.
She gives you a look like she wants to be angry, but at the same time, she’s not pulling away from you.
You really, really don’t want to see her cry. Not Natsuki, the strong-willed, determined, fierce Natsuki. You’re unsure how to comfort people, so you go with what you know best.
In a perfectly serious tone and a straight-faced expression, you say, “Do you want me to beat him up for you?”
For a second, you’re about 80% sure she’s going to slap you right in the face.
But instead, something miraculous happens.
Natsuki giggles, and as she does so, tears streak down her cheeks.
“Oh God- I didn’t mean to-!”
“No, no!” She cuts you off, tugging her hand away from yours and swiping at her face to try and wipe the moisture from her eyes, a smile still tugging at her lips. “You’re- you’re fine- I mean! Not you, I meant that, it’s fine. Really, it’s fine…” She pauses, and you think this is the first time Natsuki has ever gazed at you with such softness.
Have you really made her feel better? You’re pretty proud of yourself for that one. You would like to tell her that she can talk to you about anything anytime, or that maybe she can hang out at your house whenever she can’t stand being at hers, but she speaks before you can.
“Y/N?”
“Yeah?”
“Your jokes are terrible.”
You tilt your head to the side in confusion. Despite the insult, you can definitely hear the smile in her voice.

Invisible String (Napoleon Bonaparte x Reader)
Prompt #4  and #77 by @missmorosis: “Marry me. Now.” and “I can’t say her name without smiling!”
Tumblr media
Tags: Fluff + Mutual Pining. PS: Everything in Italic is spoken in French. –♥–
As the song “Sacré Charlemagne” rang loudly in the air, you were whisked into a jolly circle with the children in the little school that Napoleon and Isaac created by the fountain, which you always seemed to forget the name. You absolutely hated using the term “poor children” as everyone referred to them so you made an effort to learn and memorize each one of their names, even if it earned you a few devilish snickers when you stuttered over a few of their names, fumbling through your misconstructed sentences.
Compared to the children, your grammar and vocabulary was absolutely atrocious and it seemed like the infamous Monsieur de Wahaha found way too much pleasure in it, you could see him biting his bottom lip, muffling his chuckle yet his shoulders gave him away before the rambunctious sound escaped him, racking through his entire body. The few swats that Napoleon had to suffer from you did not deter him from losing himself into a fit of laughter. Your expressions never failed to amuse him, his heart feeling lighter than it had ever been in his chest and the adorable pout on your lips that tempted a little too much.
Just to press his lips against yours, Napoleon would always think. Only for a moment, that’s all he wished for. To simply hold you in his arms, engulf you in his warm embrace, where you would be safe and… loved. Feel your soft plush lips and watch as your face turns to a bright shade of red that roses would envy. His thoughts always found a way to drift to you. The petite nunuche with a kind heart, a bright mind and sass that could rival Mozart’s snark.
While you attempted to decipher the words that you were singing, your botched pronunciation did not help much though, the children jumping around, pulling you forcefully into the merry atmosphere that you had absolutely no qualms to join. Fingers that were even smaller than yours wrapped tightly around your palms, squeezed them as tightly as you felt your heart clench in your chest. Even when you were so far from the place you truly called home, with Napoleon, with these children, you found another meaning to the word. How was it that even when you were in the middle of dancing and having fun, your mind was still flooded with thoughts of him? Finding absolutely any hook just to keep him in your mind, clinging to you with no chance for you to escape from them. Even if you wanted to. Was it because he was near? Was it because you felt his eyes on you? Without even looking, you could feel the intensity of his piercing gaze, thoughtful yet kind, that made your body go through a plentiful of sensations that were too many to count on your fingers. Napoleon didn’t realize that he had paused his lesson, his eyes trained on you, seeing you radiate happiness, the happiness that the little ones shared with you even when they lived in some of the most dire of circumstances. If there is anything that you have learned, it was that the smallest things that made a difference. It is the little things that truly mattered. That is a truth that the former Emperor himself has come to realize after being relieved from the responsibility of leading his country and has tasked himself in aiding those that would be the future of France. “Who taught you that song, Clement?” Napoleon called out to one of the boys that were in your circle, shaking his head incredulously and still laughing for a reason that you had still yet to uncover. You weren’t sure what Napoleon was necessarily asking but it was definitely about the song. That was the only word ‘chanson’ that you recognized in his sentence.
“All of you. Come here and form a circle. I think it’s about time that you all learn about what Charlemagne has truly done and why you should be grateful.” Chuckling to himself, he stood from the spot he was sitting in and walked towards you, leaning down so that you were both eye to eye. You didn’t know why every time he did that, it made your heart flutter, doing a bunch of those weird somersaults that kinda made you want to puke.. But not really, at the same time. Being around Napoleon made you feel a flurry of strange sensations. Thinking about him too. That was a fact. “You do realize that this song depicts how much children hold contempt for Charlemagne for inventing school? Whatever you were singing with them right now beats the whole purpose of what we are trying to do for them.” With an eyebrow cocked, Napoleon folded his arms in front of his chest, waiting for a response from you yet the corner of his lips were clearly strained as he fought back a wide smile. “Wait…” You blinked at him in surprise, clearly unaware of the situation that you were put into due to the language barrier. “I… I promise I had no idea! That was definitely and totally not my intention! Oh my God…” It was a funny situation and you found yourself stuck between a state of slight panic and laughter, both emotions reflecting clearly on your visage. The last thing that you wanted was for Napoleon to be disappointed in you. You held him in such high regards, and he did so to you when it came to you, so you didn’t want to do anything to ruin that. A small laugh escaped him, his large hand reaching to ruffle your hair gently before tucking the stray strands away from your face and behind your ear. A gesture that was so simple yet that was done with so much love. Love that you were completely blind to. “This is why you’re my petite nunuche. Come sit and I’ll explain it all to you, princess.” The sly grin he gave you, one that was more like a wide smile, was much too irresistible, your own smile tracing across your blushing face. As he turned away from you and found his seat before everyone, you noticed something. You knew that look in his eyes. It was one that you knew very well, the passion brimming in them, the heart he put into teaching these childrens and sharing with them everything that he had to give. Nothing was ever too much to ask for with Napoleon. God… you couldn’t stop staring at him and you still hadn’t realized why, assuming it was just because he was a born charismatic leader who was now capturing everyone’s attention as he began a history lesson about the medieval emperor Charlemagne and all he had done for France and for the world. Whenever any discussion happened between you, he always leaned down and looked straight into your eyes, especially since you were quite shorter than him. Even when you stood next to one another, he still did the same. Not only with you but with the kids as well, crouching down so that he was on the same level as them, never making anyone feel as though they were inferior. Never looking down on anyone. He spoke to all, treated all, as his equals. No matter who they were. Your daydreams and musings aside, you tried to focus on Isaac’s voice as he spoke in your ear, recounting to you in English all of the stories that Napoleon was painting before all of your eyes. His mind being a wealth of historical knowledge, he ensnared you with his storytelling, even when you had absolutely no idea what he was saying, needing the help of your dear friend, Isaac Newton, to explain it all to you.
“I have a question, Napoleone!” One of the kids, Patrick, raised his hand excitedly and was basically hopping on his cute little butt, curiosity seemingly eating at the young boy. When Leon gave him a curt nod, Patrick giggled and asked. “Why do you call big sister, nunuche?” “Well, there’s a very simple answer to that question. I call her nunuche because she has absolutely no clue that she has stolen my heart.” He declared with a warm smile, his deep voice reflecting the same. As the conversation took a turn, Isaac clicked his tongue, grumbling something that you didn’t catch under his breath and walked away from the big circle that you had formed in the middle of the small town square. Some of the kids were giggling and others were making gag noises. Whatever Napoleon had said really changed the mood. With your eyebrows furrowed, it was a bit bizarre to see the physicist’s face suddenly turn red. Was he that irritated from the story Napoleon was telling the kids about Charlemagne? Now that Isaac was gone, you were left with no one to translate the ongoing discussion for you. Well, upon Napoleon’s instruction, whenever he was addressing the children directly and couldn’t directly translate to you, Isaac would have to step in for him and help you understand the different French expressions and words, especially the most common ones. But… what were they saying now? You did hear the word Nunuche but they were definitely not talking about you. Were they, though? Still, you didn’t want to leave, even if you were completely lost and oblivious to what was going on. You knew that Napoleon would explain it all to you later. “Does that mean that big sister is a thief?” Jacques asked. “Non, non.” He chuckled, shaking his head and sighing out his next words. “It means that I love her with all my heart.” “Is it like how I love my dog?” The little man inquired again. “I love mushrooms!” The youngest of them all, Carmen, chimed in with her own declaration. “Haha, we can all love different things. Love comes in many ways and we all feel it differently.” “How does it feel for you then, Napoleone?” Lea, who was sitting right by his side, inquired considerately, seemingly scrutinizing every word the Frenchman said. He couldn’t help but smile widely, admiring the smart glint in her eyes, the curiosity in her was nothing but meaningful and quite in place. Eyes that reminded of his beloved. You. “Well…” He pondered for a few seconds, trying to find a simple way of putting his feelings into words. “I can’t say her name without smiling.” And just the thought of it did the same, in that very moment. “And sometimes, I think that I might just walk up to her and simply ask her. “Marry me. Now.”” He admitted, the corner of his eyes crinkling a tiny bit as he announced so. God, now you really wanted to know what they were talking about. To know the reason why Napoleon looked almost… giddy in that calm authoritative way of his. “Oh! Oh! That means you want to also have kids with her!” Jacques, ever the talkative one, stated confidently. “Haha, indeed. That is something I do wish to have with her.” As he turned to look at you, you could see his smile turn wistful, the way his eyes fell upon you held so much longing, a yearning for something that may not ever be fulfilled. “I promise, I’ll tell you about everything we just said.” He reassured you with that exact same smile, masking the fleeting sadness that overcame him by clearing his throat, demanding everyone’s attention and returning back to his storytelling. He would tell you all about that conversation he had with the kids. Maybe not on that day… but what he had to say was for later, or maybe never. Luckily for him, none of the children knew how to speak English or they would have blurted out the confession that Napoleon had yet to make. –♥– A/N: Consider this as a snippet from your matchup story with your Leon. I hope you enjoy this @delicateikemenmemes and yes, the title is a Taylor Swift song reference hehe  💜 And thank you @sweetlittlemouse for beta-ing my insecure ass. 1. He what now?
Tumblr media
Genre: Yoongi x OC
Warnings: none
Word Count: 2.4k
Synopsis: The first time Cara Richie sets foot on the Graham Norton show she’s confronted with questions that have less to do with her upcoming film “Young Rising”, and much more to do with BTS. More specifically with one of their rappers, Suga. Cara is an open supporter and fan of the band, however when Min Yoongi is shipped with the bilingual up-and-coming actress after mentioning her in an interview, things start to get out of hand. Fanart, twitter trends, and stalkers ensue, leaving Cara’s career up to an unknown fate. Then comes the moment the world didn’t even realize it was waiting for: a solo track from Agust D that raises more questions than answers, especially for Cara.
I would recommend the Graham Norton show to anybody purely based off the quality of their couches.
It’s our five minute call when Sebastian Stan, my co-star and annoyingly close friend, shakes me out of my half-asleep daze.
“Hey, we’re about to be called up. Ready?” He helps me to sit up, laughing at the state of my hair. No doubt it looks like a bird’s nest. He motions for one of the crew to help me out, a petite makeup artist appearing out of nowhere and touching up my hair.
“Yeah, I’m excited I swear. I just wish I wasn’t so tired.” Sebastian and I rolled in from where we were shooting in the Democratic Republic of the Congo at about ten o’clock this morning. I have yet to recover from the long trip. Unfortunately, our interview was scheduled for tonight, and we stand to begin our course of promoting the movie for the foreseeable future. It’ll still be a few hours before I can crawl into a bed.
“At least it’s only an hour time difference, right?” Sebastian stands me up, instructing me to do some stretching.
“At least we finally have service. I haven’t spoken to my family in three months, they probably think you killed me and left me there in the middle of the jungle.”
One of the perks of our on location shooting was the fact that we only had a couple of satellite phones. No contact with the outside world for nearly three months. I grew way too attached to it, although the one downside was not getting to know how my family and friends were. A lot can happen in three months. I’ve been so rushed to get ready and get over here to the show that I’ve hardly had any time to even glance at my phone besides a cursory text to my group chat with my family letting them know that I’m still alive and back in civilization.
“Tempting, but too many witnesses.” Sebastian winks at me, coming to attention when we’re motioned over by one of the staff. Glancing at the TV in the waiting room I can see Graham Norton beginning to introduce us.
“Our next guests have just re-entered into civilization, so do excuse them if they’re a little off. Please welcome the dashing Sebastian Stan and lovely Cara Richie!”
Sebastian motions for me to go first, and I jump out into the bright lights. Even though I’ve been on a few shows by now, it never gets old. Granted, I’ve only had one successful blockbuster. Maybe I won’t feel the same once that number starts to climb.
I greet Graham before settling down on the couch beside Billie Eilish, the musical guest of the day. I’ve met Billie before, we actually became fast friends. I was invited to a music awards show (I found out that actors are often invited to them for some reason), and we decided to ditch the after party and settle for pizza and a movie instead.
“It’s been so long since I’ve seen you, glad to know you’re still alive.” Billie mumbles.
“Barely,” I whisper back. Sebastian sits down on the other side of me, waving to a few people in the audience. There are a group of girls near the front row that scream even louder when I look their way, and I smile at them. Sebastian sure does have an affect on people.
“Well, well. Glad to see you’ve made it. Didn’t you two just fly in this morning?” Sebastian jumps in to answer. I appreciate him taking the lead, he definitely has a lot more experience than me.
“Sure did. I think you’re trying to kill us, Graham.” Graham gasps, every bit the entertaining host.
“Now, Cara,” I smile at the man, hopefully masking my exhaustion. I’m a huge fan of him, and I want to leave a good impression. “This is your second major film. How are you feeling with all of the attention you’ve received? Because really, you came out of nowhere.”
I nod, reminding myself not to depend on Sebastian. “That’s true, I kind of did. It’s been amazing though. I think they sent me off to the middle of nowhere so it wouldn’t go to my head.” Graham laughs, the audience joining in. I sit up a little straighter because of it.
“That’s probably smart on their part. Really, from what I’ve seen of the previews for this film, it’s called ‘Young Rising’, correct?” We nod. “Right. It looks quite intense. But you two, you two are lovers in this.”
I shoot Sebastian a look that tells him we are anything but. “Yeah,” I draw out the word. “You could say that.”
“I really don’t know what they were thinking, putting the two of us together.”
“You mean to say that you don’t like each other at all?” Graham asks, feigning concern.
I shake my head. “I loathe him. But he won’t leave me alone, can you believe it?”
Graham nods. “Actually, I can. After all, you were recently named among the ‘most wanted’ stars in the world.”
I look at Billie completely surprised. “I was?” I ask her. She nods, shrugging her shoulders.
“Most wanted? That makes me sound like a criminal!”
“Isn’t that the point?” Sebastian taunts.
We continue bickering for a while. “I had no idea, but really I have no clue what’s happened over the past three months.”
Graham hums, shuffling through his papers before coming upon what he was looking for. “Really? Well I find that quite interesting, because something happened just last week on this show.” Suddenly the girls up front start screaming again, hardly able to contain themselves.
I look at Sebastian. “What did you do?” I whisper. He shakes his head at me, mouthing ‘nothing’.
“Alright, calm down you three. I haven’t even gotten the chance to tell her yet, you’re going to spoil the surprise!” WIth great effort the girls pipe down. Graham swivels back to me, a mischievous smile on his face.
“Oh no, what surprise?” I groan.
Billie pats my knee. “I know what this is about, it’s been all over twitter. This is what I’m thinking of, right?” Billie asks, shooting me a close-lipped smile.
“All over twitter? I haven’t had a chance to check twitter.” To be honest, I was putting off checking the hot mess that is social media. Three months of peace and quiet have been so nice, I’m clinging to it before I have to dive back in.
“Last week, we had a very special musical guest. You’re a fan of BTS, aren’t you?”I nod, furrowing my eyebrows. Where is he going with any of this?
“Yeah, I love them. We were just listening to them in the car, actually.” I gesture between Sebastian and I. Graham studies us like a textbook, nodding along.
“That’s perfect! They came on the show last week, it was amazing. Wasn’t it?” The audience cheers and claps in response. “We got to have a little chat before they performed. A nice little heart to heart if you will. Somehow, I have no idea how, we got onto the topic of their love lives.”
We all give him a complimentary laugh, knowing full well how they got onto that topic. Any successful interviewer knows their way around questions to make even the most composed celebrity fidget in their seat until they slip up.
“Oh did you?” Sebastian prompts Graham on. I know him well enough that he’s just wanting to move on at this point. We’re here to talk about our movie, not BTS. Heaven knows they’re famous enough already.
“Yes. You’ve heard of Suga?” I nod. I know who each of the members are, I really do like them a lot. “Well, he said something quite interesting, er, about you.”
My eyebrows flit up. “About me? He knows who I am?”The audience laughs, the girls in the front are practically causing an earthquake with how much jumping around they’re doing.
“He most certainly does. In fact, when I asked the boys if there was anyone they had their eye on, they all immediately turned to him! It was difficult to get it out of him, to say the least, but I found out that he’s a big fan of yours. And not just from a professional standpoint, if you know what I mean.” Graham winks at me even as my mouth falls open.
Me?
“You’ll have to watch the clip,” Billie says, nudging me. “It’s been all anyone can talk about all week. It’s been so annoying, I see your name everywhere now.” She laughs, and I pull myself together enough to laugh along with her. I look around, reminding myself that I’m on international television, and word will get around quick if I look like a high schooler that just got asked to the prom by her long-time crush.
Even though that’s exactly what I feel like.
The rest of the interview passes in a blur, Graham even going to far as to show me a couple of tweets with the hashtag, #CaraBTS. I’m just relieved there isn’t some weird couple name trending...yet.
“Oh, look at this one! You’ll love it.” Graham holds his paper up to the light, reading off of it. “‘This is not a drill, I repeat, this is not a drill. Cara and Yoongi are finally happening. I’ve been pushing for this since I found out she went to school in Seoul!’ It would appear this has been a long time coming for some fans. There are others that aren’t quite as excited though, as you can imagine.”
Shuffling his papers he pulls out another tweet. “Here we are, ‘I’m telling you if Cara Richie lays a single finger on my lil meow meow I’m suing.’ Well isn’t that lovely?”
We finally move on, Sebastian telling a funny story from our time filming in the Congo. I add in whatever tidbits I can, but I remain so focused on looking normal and unbothered by this new information that I nearly miss Billie getting up to sing. It’s during her performance, when the lights are down low and our mics are turned off that Sebastian nudges me, whispering something under his breath.
He makes it look like he’s pointing something out on stage, “Hey, you alright?”
I nod along, looking for all the world like we’re chatting about the lighting. It’s true that it looks striking, the dark greens and blues cut across the stage, highlighting Billie’s haunting voice.
“I think I will be. Is this going to be a disaster? Now all anybody will want to talk about is my love life.”
“Which we both know is nonexistent.”
“Exact-hey!” I shove my friend before turning my attention back to the performance. I still can’t quite relax, but I feel a little better. At least I have Sebastian by my side. He certainly knows how to remain low-key when it comes to the press.
Once the interview ends the three girls at the front squeal until I look at Sebastian who gives me a shrug.
“I don’t think it’s for me,” he gestures to them. “Look at their sign.”
Sneaking a glance over there my eyes widen and I struggle to keep my mouth from hanging open. One of the girls holds up a little poster that I didn’t see before. She probably wasn’t allowed to hold it up during the show because she would block other people’s view.
There, written in big bold miss that only a blind man could miss it reads:
                Cara x Yoongi nation
Graham notices my attention from where he’s saying goodbye to Billie and makes his way over to me. He gives me a pat on the back.
“That,” he points out the sign that is now burned into my eyelids. “Is only the beginning, love.”
🌙
By the time Sebastian and I make it back to the hotel where the rest of the cast and director/producers are staying, I want to lock my door and throw something.
Sebastian told me not to check twitter, but I ignored him. Curiosity did kill the cat, folks. News flash.
If I wasn’t known before, I certainly am now. Twitter is a mess of supportive fans, those fans who are heartbroken but happy for Suga, and the fans that are out for blood. Like, real blood. I’ve read the words “better watch out” so many times that I can’t help but look over my shoulder every few minutes.
I do appreciate the fans that claim that only true ARMY will support the boys’ decisions. Nevertheless, I decide to hold off any kind of presence on social media until further notice. A glance at the official BTS twitter shows them doing the same thing, apparently. I’m not sure whether I should be relieved or worried about that.
“I told you not to,” Sebastian chides once we enter the hotel. “Now you’re all depressed.”
“I’m not depressed,” I defend myself. “Just nervous. I’m not sure what this means for my whole acting career. I don’t like knowing that I have no control over it.”
Sebastian wraps an arm around my shoulders as we enter the elevator. “Not to worry, I’m sure the PR team is on it. Stacey is good with these kinds of things. Trust me, I’ve put her through enough near disasters that this will be a piece of cake.”
Sebastian and I share managers, PR reps, and many more things. We’re strange friends, thrown together through a series of random events, but I’m so grateful for him. I would be so lost without all the resources he’s provided me with.
I give a dry laugh, slumping against my friend as the thought of being so close to a bed only serves to make me more tired. “She’s probably glad that it’s not you for a change.”
“Yeah, probably.”Sebastian bids me goodnight, heading down to his room on the other end of the hall. I can hear our director and a couple of the producers talking, but it’s too muffled to make out much more than their voices. I’m too tired anyways, so I opt to head straight to my room and get into bed before anyone can ask me any questions. I barely make it into my pajamas before I hit the mattress, sighing as I sink into the covers.
“Ah, finally. Goodnight world,” I mumble, turning to flip my phone on silent. The moment I go to grab my phone, it lights up with a notification. Groaning, I pick it up, squinting at the light.
“He...he what now?”

Jason Todd x Avengers Crossover
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
Ao3 // Wattpad

Unexpected (part 2)
Two days have passed since Clint was saved by Jason. And for some reason, he still can't get the vigilante out of his mind.
Natasha teased him about it but he knows that if she sees Jason in action, she would be intrigued as well.
The way he fought was mesmerizing. Every bullet that was shot was so precisely aimed that the wounds weren't deadly.
Sure it knocked them out, but they weren't gonna die.
That form of marksmanship was only earned through years of hard work. And Clint's worked with Bucky enough times to know that Jason somehow predicted the next move of the attackers, aiming at the non-lethal body parts.
He has a feeling that Bucky and Jason would make an incredible duo.
Which is why he needs them to meet.
Clint doesn't usually do this but the more he thought about the bucket-wearing vigilante, the higher his list of questions got.
He took out his phone, leaning against the couch as he searched for the man that saved him.
vigilante wearing red bucket
He scrolled through google trying to find a decent article on the guy.
After thirty whole minutes of barely finding information, Clint wanted to throw his phone across the room. So far, all he's figured out was that Jason's territory was in Gotham and that his vigilante name is 'Red Hood'.
Which was... creative in a way?
At least it wasn't 'Red Bucket' or 'Bucket Head' or anything like that. It was definitely better than 'Green Arrow'.
After another failed search, he decided to finally give up. There was nothing about Red Hood. All the articles were mainly about Batman, Nightwing, a restaurant place, and a Robin!
He groaned and put his face in his hands. He doesn't care about those overrated heroes, he wants to find out more about Red Hood.
The guy was so cool... he wonders why there were barely any pieces written about him. The few sentences that he's read about the vigilante almost always depicted him in a bad light.
Which was honestly unfair.
He stared at his phone, contemplating on whether or not he should ask Natasha.
On the positive side, he knows that the assassin would have information on Red Hood. Natasha has information on everyone.
But...
Clint didn't want Natasha to tease him even more! If she keeps up with the sarcastic comments then the other Avengers would be curious. And curious Avengers meant nosy people.
He felt himself shiver, really nosy people.
He swears that if he had a sister— older or younger, they would act exactly like how Natasha was acting right now.
He could practically imagine the smirk she was wearing on her face when she picked up.
"Hey, Clint." she casually greeted, "How are you?"
He refrained from gritting his teeth, "I'm doing good." he paused, eyes closing as he took a breath in, this hurt to admit. "I need your help."
"I know."
"What do you know about the Red Hood?"
"The Red Hood?" she hummed under her breath, "Let's see."
Clint heard her moving things around, then he could distinctly hear the noise of paper being flipped. "Do you just have documents of random vigilantes lying around your room?" he couldn't help but ask. "Is this an assassin thing?"
Does Bucky do this too?
"I'm getting you the information you need." she reminded, "How I keep track of the data I have is none of your business."
"Okay, okay." he surrendered, a smile making its way onto his face. "But why don't you just keep it on a computer? Wouldn't that make things easier for you?"
She ignored his question, "Red Hood is an excellent marksman," she stated. "He made his debut as a crime lord by showing a bunch of people a duffel bag filled with the heads of notorious criminals."
Clint let out a whistle, "That is an intense introduction. He's even better than I thought he would be."
"Yeah," Natasha agreed. "He's easily one of the most dangerous and capable vigilantes in Gotham. In a matter of months, he's managed to bring crime down Crime Alley by at least fifty percent. Something that Batman himself, couldn't do. His methods were vicious, but they worked. Extremely well. He's killed a lot of child molesters, human traffickers, and rapists."
Even though Natasha couldn't see him, he tilted his head to the side, biting the inside of his cheek. Clint could care less about what methods Jason used. If they worked, they worked. And it's not like those criminals didn't deserve it. It's just-
Killing takes a lot out of you. Especially when you're young. Clint would know.
He had no doubt in his head that Jason was an incredible fighter. Not to mention that he was also huge— in both height and muscle.
He can see why he has a majority of Gotham fooled.
But, for about a minute, after they won against the ninjas, Jason removed his helmet in order to get a breath of fresh air.
A mask might've been covering his eyes, but Clint's been in the vigilante business for years now. He remembers clear as day, just how young the vigilante looked under the sun.
When Clint first started, he was thankful that he had Natasha to talk to whenever things got hard. Whenever he felt guilty for taking someone's life. No matter how much they deserved it.
Hell, he's still thankful for Natasha now. Without her, Clint would probably be dead. His body found bleeding out in an abandoned area, a neat row of scars on his thighs and arms.
He hopes that Jason has a friend like Natasha. Someone who'd be there for him no matter what. Someone who'd remind him that he was worth it. That he was loved.
Cause if not, then there is no way that the kid is okay.
Natasha's sharp voice interrupted his thoughts, "That was a few years ago. As far as I know, he doesn't kill anymore. The farthest that Hood would go now would be to permanently cripple someone. And even then, he would only do that when the person did something unforgivable."
After a few seconds of silence, Clint opened his mouth. "Is that it?" he couldn't help but question.
"Nope," Natasha admitted. "But it's all I'm willing to tell you."
"Fine then," he smirked. "Keep your assassiny secrets. I got more than I expected anyways."
"What did you get yourself into, Clint? Why all the sudden interest in him? Why all the sudden interest in a vigilante in Gotham?"
He knows that Natasha was just looking out for him. She was worried. "Do you remember a few days ago when I was saved by this Jason guy?" he asked.
"Yeah? You've been talking about him nonstop. He saved your ass and you gave him your number." she paused before adding, "Your private one."
He nodded, "Yeah. Well, he's the Red Hood."
"You're kidding."
"Nope. I searched him up and he had the same costume and everything."
"And he actually said that his name was Jason?"
"Yep." he tried to casually say, "It's probably cause Jason's a popular name and stuff."
"Maybe." Natasha hesitantly agreed, "But anyway, since you gave him your number, I think you should know that I've always wanted to meet him so if he texts you soon..."
Her voice trailed off and Clint couldn't hold in his sigh, "Yeah, yeah. I'll arrange a meet-up or whatever."
Her voice automatically brightened, "Actually?"
The corner of his mouth lifted, "Sure. But I wanted to introduce him to Bucky first."
Natasha made a shocked sound of betrayal, "Wha- but Clint!" she whined, "I'm the one who's asking. Not him."
"I know."
It took everything in him to stop the laugh from escaping his mouth.
Complaints about how unfair Clint was being made their way onto his ears and he relished each and every one of them. It wasn't often that he had something Natasha wanted.
Revenge was sweet.
After a few minutes, he let out an incredibly fake gasp. "Sorry, Natasha. I gotta go. I have a kitchen emergency."
"What the fuck, Clint." she demanded, "You don't even know how to cook. Remember the omelet incident? What emerg-"
He hung up.
Clint's definitely going to regret ending the call later. He knows it.
But right now, he could care less.
He has something Natasha wants, so she won't murder him.
... hopefully.
He hopes that he runs into the vigilante soon. Jason was cool and pretty fun to talk to. Clint definitely won't mind fighting at Red Hood's side once more.
They worked really well together.
While they were fighting, he knew that Jason was gonna have his back. He knew that Jason wasn't gonna let him get hurt. It was weird, considering that was the first encounter he's ever had with him.
He doesn't know when Jason is gonna decide to use his number, but he hopes that it'll be soon.
He has questions. And whenever Jason was ready, Clint hopes that he can answer.
Starting with the one that's been clouding his head; why did the Red Hood stop killing?

okay, I didn’t expect to write a chapter this soon. but reading all the comments you guys left on the previous chapter motivated me. to be honest, I didn’t expect this fanfic to get as many hits as it did.
I don’t know when I’m planning on posting this chapter but right now, my goal is to write as much as I can.
I also don’t know exactly how busy my sophomore year of high school will be, but I feel like it’s better to be safe than sorry. Especially if I make the school volleyball team.
I finished writing this chapter on August 8th, and I have tryouts on the 9th through the 11th from 4-6 pm. (wish me luck!)
like always, please, please, please, leave a comment. i love reading them and they just motivate me so much! Whenever I get author’s block, I just re-read them and they help so, so much. If you don’t wanna leave a comment, that’s fine. If you liked this fanfic, please hit that kudos button though.
and if you just wanna chat or if you want to request any ideas or prompts, just message me here.
ooh, and if there’s anything specific you want to read in this series, please tell me. It never hurts to have any extra ideas. plus, I really want to make this fic more enjoyable for everyone.

46. "Dance with me" for Merthur please 💖
Ah, Tay, thank you so much <3 Send me a prompt from this list!
I’m sorry, this one had to be at least a little angsty. And waayy longer than a simple ficlet, but who’s shocked? Not me. It’s Merthur, how could I not?
Takes place in between seasons 1 and 2, and thus before the weird reset of Merthur’s relationship the writers pulled in 2x01.
46. “Dance with me.”
________________________________________________
After this long Merlin has gotten used to taking care of Arthur.
And he doesn’t just mean the secret saving-his-life-every-two-seconds part of taking care of him either. The Crown Prince of Camelot seems to have a special knack for getting involved in trouble and life-threatening situations. Which of course means Merlin is also involved in those situations.
Honestly sometimes he wonders why he ever wanted to leave Ealdor for Camelot.
But not tonight.
No, tonight there are no mysterious threats. No poisonings, no love-spells, or strange sorcerers who are out to cripple Camelot through hurting Arthur. This is the summer solstice, which means feasting and partying. It means roast pig and plenty of food leftover for the servants to nibble on and still have enough left over for meals tomorrow.
It means drinking and dancing while music and laughter fill the great feasting hall of Camelot’s castle.
But of course Merlin can’t take part in any of that. No, as Arthur has repeatedly reminded him in the week leading up to this, Merlin only needs to do one thing tonight; and that is to run after Arthur’s every whim.
“Dish me some of those lovely looking roasted potatoes, would you Merlin?”
“Go and fetch me that juicy haunch of pork that’s left, Merlin.”
“I’ll take a refill of that wine, Merlin.”
“More, Merlin.”
“To the top, you incompetent sod.”
Merlin had looked away from the near-overflowing goblet to raise an eyebrow at Arthur, whose face was flushed a light pink and whose eyes were far too bright to convey complete sobriety.
“Are you quite sure, sire?”
Arthur frowns at him with what Merlin thinks should be annoyance. Any other noble would be annoyed with Merlin- but then again, any other noble would have sacked him long ago.
Arthur isn’t like any of the other nobles. Which is probably why Merlin is able to convince himself that Arthur’s look is fondness instead.
“Are you questioning an order from your prince?”
“Never.” Merlin says back with a completely straight face.
Arthur nods back in complete satisfaction and swipes up his goblet to drink another long mouthful, apparently forgetting that he had wanted said goblet filled higher only a second ago. Merlin wisely pulls back to stand behind Arthur’s chair.
Not before Morgana catches his eye and smiles in exasperation, making Merlin’s lips twitch before he can school his features once more.
Her eyes sparkle with good humour as she leans back in to talk to Arthur- or more likely tease him. Merlin watches as Arthur rolls his eyes and bites back his own retorts but the enjoyment on his face doesn’t fade and after a few moments he and Morgana get up to dance.
“Does this mean I get a break?” Merlin asks Arthur hopefully as the pair passes him and Gwen, and Arthur barks out a laugh.
“Hardly. You better not move an inch.”
Merlin isn’t surprised but he still sticks his tongue out at Arthur’s retreating back. After making sure neither Arthur or Uther are looking of course.
He hears a giggle beside him and looks down to see Gwen has appeared.
“Don’t worry I won’t tell,” she says conspiratorially and Merlin grins back at her. “How are you doing, Merlin?”
“Oh, just great.” He pouts. “I don’t understand why I have to serve Arthur tonight and you don’t have to serve Morgana.”
Gwen shrugs. “Morgana told me that Arthur volunteered your services for the entire high table. Luckily Uther was nice and decided you only had to wait on the two of them.”
And Arthur had told Merlin that of course, crowing it at him in victory earlier today when Merlin had asked him whether he would at least have Gwen to talk to all night.
Merlin’s grip tightens on the wine jug and he sighs before looking over to where Arthur and Morgana are dancing.
They’re gorgeous together of course. Probably the most stunning pair on the dance floor.
For a moment Merlin feels a pang of jealousy but he pushes it far, far away. That is the last thing he needs to worry about right now.
Still, he’s filled with sudden inspiration and turns to Gwen. “Do you want to dance, Gwen?”
She blushes. “Oh! No.”
Merlin blinks.
“Not that I mean- of course I want to, of course, I would never say no to a dance with you, Merlin, it’s just- well. Uther doesn’t let servants dance at the feasts.”
Which.
Right.
Merlin knows that, of course.
“Yeah.” He says in disappointment. “Silly me. I forgot for a moment.”
He hadn’t, but he doesn’t know what he’d expected. That he would just lead Gwen onto the dance floor and everybody would turn a blind eye? This is Uther and he’s anything but forgiving. Especially when it comes to servants.
Even Arthur would have been mortified, and though he’d feel bad about it, Merlin knows he would have ordered Merlin back to his position the moment he caught sight of him.
Maybe if Uther retired early that might be different. Feasts are usually more relaxed once the king goes to bed and leaves them all to it. But tonight Uther seems wide awake, if the way he’s laughing uproariously with Lord Daniels is anything to go by.
Merlin catches Arthur’s eye and the prince grins at him smugly. But where normally Merlin would have rolled his eyes or glared back, now he just looks away.
“Oh Merlin.” Gwen touches his arm. “We can dance later?”
“No it’s alright Gwen,” Merlin tries to smile at her. “It was silly.”
Gwen opens her mouth to say something else but Arthur’s voice cuts across them before she can.
“Guinevere I think Morgana has something she wants to say to you.”
Gwen pulls away from Merlin with a start and bows her head to Arthur. When Merlin looks at Morgana he sees nothing but confusion on her face, and that doesn’t disappear when Gwen moves the few feet away to go and stand with her.
When Merlin looks back he sees Arthur still watching him carefully. It’s enough to make him clear his throat and paste on a false smile.
“What can I get you, m’lord?”
His words make Arthur frown as the prince retakes his seat. “Another refill please Merlin.”
Merlin does as he asks without hesitation. “Anything else, sire?”
Arthur’s frown deepens.
Luckily Merlin doesn’t have much time to dwell on his melancholy because, surprising everybody, Arthur chooses to retire not long after. Truthfully, Merlin barely notices the passing of time, too caught up in his own thoughts about nobility and destiny, and the things he’s give up and lost to be where he is today. However it seems to be enough time for the effects of the wine to leave Arthur, because when he announces that he’s going to bed he seems almost completely sober again.
“Come on, Merlin.”
Though Uther, Morgana and Gwen are all shooting Arthur nonplussed looks, Merlin hurries to do as he’s bid. The last thing he wants is to stand in the hall for any longer.
The rest of the castle is eerily quiet because of the feast. Though there are guards patrolling the hallways and treasure rooms as always, the lack of servants running on errands or nobles sneaking around to escape tutors and lessons and responsibilities is stark. Merlin and Arthur make it to the stairs without seeing another soul, and it is once they begin climbing that Arthur finally breaks.
“Right, what’s wrong with you?”
Merlin continues to stare straight ahead as he picks up the pace, actually hurrying ahead of Arthur to reach the prince’s rooms first. “Nothing.”
Arthur lengthens his stride to catch him, taking the stairs two or three at a time. “I know there’s something.”
“Don’t know what you’re talking about.”
Merlin goes about filling the bed warming pan with coal and placing it with the fire that he starts like it’s second-nature.
“Come on, what is it? You’ve been sulking ever since I went and danced with Morgana.” Arthur badgers him, falling into one of the wooden chairs at his table as if the last thing he intends to do is sleep. “You weren’t jealous, were you Merlin?”
Merlin yanks Arthur’s coverlet back with a vengeance as he readies the bed. “Don’t be ridiculous,” he mutters.
He notices when Arthur goes quiet then, his teasing fading momentarily as the prince looks at him more seriously, his gaze intense.
“What then?”
“Nothing.”
“Don’t lie to your prince, Merlin.”
Merlin’s eyes slip closed and he presses his lips together tightly, taking in a deep breath before he’s able to shake off those words. “Forget it. You wouldn’t understand.”
“Of course I would.”
He snorts before he can help it and his voice becomes a bit harder. “Right.”
“Well what could possibly be bothering you that I wouldn’t understand? Remember that I’m the one who’s had a formal education between the two of us.”
“How can I forget,” Merlin retorts before finally straightening up from the bed to begin moving towards the door. “If that’s all-”
“Hey.” Arthur’s arm darts out and he stands up so he can grip Merlin’s forearm and stop him. “Seriously, what’s the matter with you?”
Merlin finally looks him in the face again. “It’s just me being stupid.”
Arthur snorts. “Of that I have no doubt.”
But when Merlin doesn’t return his smile Arthur’s brows furrow. He actually almost looks concerned. “Just spit it out, Merlin.”
Merlin’s patience wears out. Maybe if he just tells Arthur then Arthur will laugh at him for a few minutes and let him leave. Hopefully it will be the end of this conversation at least.
“I asked Gwen to dance and she said no.”
Arthur’s hand falls and he leans back against the table, his face going blank. “Oh.”
Merlin sighs again. “Told you it’s stupid.”
“I...” Arthur doesn’t seem to know how to respond but it appears he’s making a concerted effort not to make fun of Merlin. He supposes he appreciates that a bit. “You have a crush on Gwen?”
“What? No!” Merlin denies. “It’s not about Gwen, it’s about the dancing.”
Arthur frowns again. “You’ve lost me.”
Merlin decides to give up and moves to sit in the chair that Arthur’s just vacated. Arthur remains standing at his side. “Back at Ealdor we used to have parties sometimes. Not like this, we didn’t have feasts or decorations like Camelot, obviously. But we did save up a deer or pig to share. Some of the locals had old instruments passed down through their families that they could play. Fiddles and drums, that sort of thing. And we would all get dressed up and go to the grassy pasture and light a bonfire and dance for most of the night.
“It wasn’t often, of course. Nobody could afford to waste time and food like that more than once or twice a year. But if we’d had a good harvest... well. That was cause to celebrate.”
Merlin closes his eyes briefly in remembrance. “I used to love dancing. There were a few girls in towns, farmer’s daughters mostly, and though they wouldn’t look at Will and I twice the rest of the year, on those nights they’d dance with us when we asked. Sometimes they asked us. Or I’d dance with my mum.” He smiles a bit sadly. “She used to love dancing with me, her whole face would light up. And when I wasn’t dancing with any of them I’d dance with Will.”
Arthur makes a noise in his throat. “That’s hardly proper.”
Merlin opens his eyes to glare at him. “Just as friends, you arse. But anyway, no one really cares about that sort of thing back home. That seems to be a hangup just for you nobles.”
The prince frowns but doesn’t say anything so Merlin takes the chance to continue.
“We would all dance together and drink a bit and just... have fun, I suppose. For a night we wouldn’t worry about how much we could spare for our next meal, or about Cenred’s soldiers coming through because the excess profits and crops had just been paid to him and he was happy for a while.” After Merlin pauses the room is quiet. Arthur is staring at him intensely and Merlin feels a small flush work its way through him.
“It was fun. Good memories.” He clears his throat. “I just miss it, I guess. It’s strange, not being allowed to dance here.” He licks his lips when Arthur continues to stare at him. “Not that I’d know the steps to any of your fancy dances.”
Now Arthur looks carefully blank before he sighs and seems to come to a decision, giving in to some internal struggle. “Alright then.”
He pushes off of the side of the table to stand in the middle of the empty space in his room. With a slight bow he stretches out an arm with an open arm.
“Um.” Merlin stares at him, wondering if he’s lost his mind. “What are you doing?”
“What does it look like?” Arthur snaps. “If it will stop you looking like I kicked your favourite puppy I’ll indulge you this one time and teach you to dance.”
Merlin laughs nervously, not entirely sure this isn’t a joke. “Arthur-”
“Merlin.” Arthur meets his eyes and Merlin forgets whatever it was he’d been about to say. For a second all of the air leaves his body. “Dance with me.”
Any protestations die on Merlin’s lips and he gets up without another word to move towards Arthur slowly. With a hand that is absolutely not shaking- Merlin ignores the twitch of Arthur’s lips when the prince notices- he puts his hand in Arthur’s.
“Uh. What now?”
“Your other hand goes here.” Arthur puts Merlin’s hand on his own shoulder. “And mine go here.”
“Oi! Why am I the girl?”
Arthur gives him a look. “You cannot honestly think that I’m going to take the girl’s position, do you?”
“If you’re trying to teach me then shouldn’t I learn in the role I’ll actually need to know?”
“You’ll probably never use this dance lesson a day in your life!”
“You don’t know that!” Merlin rebuts. “What if I’m invited to a really nice wedding?”
“Who would invite you to a wedding like that?” Arthur snorts.
“People.” Merlin says valiantly. “Come on, if we’re doing this then isn’t it worth doing right?”
Arthur purses his lips unhappily and stares at him for a few beats before glaring. “Fine. Fine. But if you breathe a word of this to anybody-”
“As if, I like my head right where it is, thanks. Attached to the rest of my body.”
“Idiot,” Arthur mutters but he does readjust their positions so now their original positions are reversed. “But I’m still leading.”
“Obviously,” Merlin rolls his eyes at the idiocy of the statement and Arthur actually blushes.
Falteringly they begin to move. Merlin trips over his own feet and then Arthur’s, making Arthur stumble and curse at him colourfully. Then Merlin steps on one of Arthur’s feet and Arthur inhales sharply through his nose and glares so cuttingly that Merlin wonders how he isn’t actually physically injured from it.
“Merlin, how on earth have you not tripped over your own two feet and broken your neck for this long?”
Merlin grins. “Just talent I suppose.”
Arthur rolls his eyes and tightens his grip, bringing them in closer to each other. In fact there’s only a couple of inches between them now.
Merlin notices for the first time that he and Arthur are the same height, or close enough that any difference isn’t noticeable. Their eyes meet easily, holding for a bit too long before Arthur clears his throat.
“Usually there would be music.”
Merlin nods. “I could hum?”
Arthur’s face twists. “Please, Merlin, if I wanted my ears to bleed I would pick up a knife and do it myself.”
Merlin pouts. “No need to be rude.”
Arthur’s eyes flick down to Merlin’s lips. Merlin’s breath catches again.
And it’s not like he hasn’t noticed that they do this- hell, the way his heart hammers relentlessly against his rib cage whenever he’s around Arthur didn’t come from nowhere. Merlin doesn’t indulge crushes that have absolutely no foundation.
But usually the two of them are more than a breath’s span apart from each other and Merlin can easily look away, or shrug it off and pretend he’s seeing things. Or Arthur will look away immediately and they brush it off and pretend it never happened.
Usually.
But this time Arthur’s eyes flicker back up to meet Merlin’s without either of them saying anything. And their gazes hold and they get closer just a tiny bit, enough that their chests brush lightly.
Merlin feels Arthur’s hand clench on his shoulder.
There’s a lot of things Merlin could have done then. A lot of things that he’d wanted to do, things that even later that night he’ll regret not doing.
But instead of doing those things he does this: he steps on Arthur’s foot.
Arthur jerks back instinctively, letting him go and taking a step back. “Ah! Merlin!”
“Sorry, sorry!” Merlin cries, taking pains to look amused. He ignores the crash of something inside of him and blinks with a huge grin. “Although really, as my teacher, that was partially your fault. Inept instruction.”
Arthur glares at him before shaking his head. If Merlin thought he’d seen a flash of disappointment in the prince’s gaze, well, obviously he was mistaken.
“You’re hopeless.”
Merlin grins. “A little less hopeless thanks to that brilliant lesson. I reckon that now I could make it a turn about the room without killing me or my partner.”
“She’d be lucky.” Arthur bites back easily.
The strange heavy tension in the air between them breaks then, when Merlin grins at him and Arthur grins back.
“Right then, ready me for bed,” the blonde instructs. “Then you can go.”
Merlin does and quickly. He keeps up a stream of chatter but if anyone asked him later he wouldn’t be able to recall a single thing he’d said. Arthur seems to be paying just as much attention, only grunting here or there to show signs of life.
Finally Merlin banks the fire and blows out the candles. He gathers Arthur’s clothes from the day and heads to the door.
He stops just before leaving though. When he speaks there’s nothing but simple honesty in his voice.
“Goodnight Arthur. Thank you for the lesson.”
Arthur replies after a moment. “Goodnight Merlin.”
And Merlin hesitates, just for a second, but enough that his heart begins to race and a lump starts to form in his throat.
But then he shakes his head at himself in the dark and opens the door to leave.

Blame @sullypants for this one since weird dreams are a common theme lately:
“Hey, Jug.”
Shaken by some unknown force, Jughead groaned and nestled further into his arms.
“C’mon, wake up,” Archie said, his voice coming from a universe away.
Sleep was a dense fog that settled in behind Jughead’s eyelids and he couldn’t muster the energy to push it away.  He’d fallen asleep in school again, that much he could discern from the hard table beneath him.  But at least the desk was a lot more comfortable than the janitor’s closet had been.
“Dude, let’s go,” Reggie said.
With a hard tug, Jughead was snapped awake.  With a wide yawn he stretched out, his back giving a satisfyingly loud crack.
“What’s up?”
“School’s over, Rip Van Jones,” Reggie said.  With a roll of his eyes, he ran a hand through his already slicked back hair.  “The girls are waiting for us at Pop’s.  Apparently we have to have a set list for Sunday and they wanted to go over it after school.  Or at least we were supposed to before this knucklehead got us detention from Grundy again.”
Jughead blinked, convinced he’d heard Reggie wrong.  Grundy was dead, murdered by the Black Hood.  Even if she had come back to life, what was she doing around high schoolers?
“How was I supposed to know she meant a rhyme scheme from Donna Sweet and not Saweetie,” Archie muttered.  “Besides, if we leave right now we still might make it before they ditch us.”
Wait, sweater vest.  Why was Archie wearing a sweater vest?  And was was Reggie acting so cordial?
Certain that this was another weird dream, Jughead reached for his Serpent’s jacket and found that the back of his chair was empty.  Serpent’s jacket?
“I still think that we should ditch Jingle Jangle,” Reggie said as he headed out the door.
“What?  It’s my best work,” Archie said as he followed him out.
With another yawn, Jughead picked up his books and followed them out into the cool autumn air.  With a start, he realized that it was just a dream, a really weird dream to be exact.  There was no biker gang that gave out jackets to kids like candy.  He and Archie and Reggie had always been a strange sort of friends; and Grundy was never anything more than a septuagenarian determined to drive herself into an early grade by teaching high brow literature to idiot high schoolers.
On the way to Pop’s, Jughead ignored Archie and Reggie’s argument over some girl the next town over and worked to piece together the dream.  It had all been so real that it wasn’t a wonder he’d been confused.  Everything in Riverdale had been the same as it was now, except it was all off just enough to cast a dark shadow across their sleepy little town.
Hiram Lodge, a well known philanthropist and entrepreneur who tolerated his daughter’s friends was not a corrupt Wall-Street con-man looking to rule the world.  The Coopers, an All American family, was not rife with dark secrets that would eventually tear them apart.  The Blossom’s, while certainly devious and conniving in their own ways, were not ripped from the pages of a gothic horror novel.
And the Jones…
Jughead shuddered at the thought.  Sure, they weren’t the perfect family.  But they loved each other, took care of each other, and were as normal as they could be.  That image of his family brought up a wave of guilt about how his subconscious had portrayed his parents.
(He couldn’t help but grin, however, at the idea that baby Jellybean could not only hold her own, but was a fan of Led Zeppelin.  It was a nice touch.  Maybe he’d roundup his mother’s old records tonight and he’d teach her to appreciate the finer things in life.)
But it wasn’t until they’d walked into Pop’s to find the girls seated at their regular booth that the realization that this Betty - sweet, caring, lovely Betty - wasn’t his that he felt a pang of longing for his dream world.  Despite how horrific that dream had been, Betty was the golden lining in that dark world, a comfort meant only for him.
The feeling passed quickly when Betty’s eyes locked on Archie.  Jughead couldn’t help but wonder, though, what if things had been different?
For the rest of the afternoon, the members of The Archie’s debated and argued over the set list, while Jughead did what he did best.  While Archie was arguing for the merits of Sugar, Sugar, Jughead polished off three baskets of fries and a milkshake.  When Veronica demanded to sing Bang-Shang-A-Lang solo, Jughead ate two and a half cheeseburgers and drank half a pot of coffee.  As Reggie was arguing for… well, whatever it was he wanted, Jughead nursed a chocolate milkshake and a basket of fries (extra chili cheese, heavy on the onions and cheese, add bacon).
Occasionally he inserted his own opinion - no he would not let Reggie ruin another drum set just so he could show off to Ginger Lopez, nor was it feasible for Veronica to burst out, and ruin, his kick drum at the start of the show.  But even as he played at normalcy, his mind kept coming back to that dream.  Detention with Grundy could never be long enough to contain an entirely parallel universe, and yet it was the most realistic dream he’d ever had.
“Earth to Juggie,” Betty said as she waved her hand in front of his face.  He blinked, his gaze centering on her, and she giggled.   “Anything you’d like to share with the class?”
He glanced around and found that despite his attempts to stay present, he and Betty were the only two left.
“Veronica roped Archie into installing shelves for her,” Betty explained with an over exaggerated pout.  She then pointed over to where Reggie was chatting a short, dark haired teen.  “And Midge came in without Moose, so you know Reggie’s not going to miss that opportunity.”
Midge.
The world around Jughead spun and he felt lightheaded when he stood.  He walked over to where the pair stood at the counter, and when Midge turned to him Jughead wrapped her in a tight hug, tears threatening to pour from his eyes.
“You alright there, needle nose?” Reggie asked, his eyes filled with concern.
Apparently Jughead hadn’t been able to play as normal as he’d thought.
“Yeah, I’m okay,” he said, loosening his hold.  He stared at Midge, still trying to comprehend why he felt so relieved that it was all just a dream. “I’m just… happy to see you is all.”
“I’m always happy to see you, Jughead,” Midge said.  She placed the back of her hand across his forehead, the corners of her lips pinched.  “But maybe you should let Betty take you home?”
Jughead nodded as the surreal threatened to overwhelm him.  When he turned, he found Betty behind him, her arms full of their schoolbooks.  She set a hand on his arm and gave an encouraging, if worried, smile.  It was easy enough to let her lead him out of the diner.  That way he could remind himself that the world where Midge had been slaughtered wasn’t real.
“Penny for your thoughts?  Or maybe I should offer a nickel?” Betty asked.  When he didn’t respond, she bumped her hip into his.
The contact, friendly, playing, concerned, burned his side.  It brought up just how touchy they were in his dream world, along with false memories of things he’d never paid any attention to before (especially not about her).  He shivered and quickened his step.  Betty, ever the Teflon personality, matched his stride and slipped her arm through his.
“Just a strange dream,” he muttered, far too distracted by how much heat she gave out to come up with a good lie.
“Sounds like a pretty intense dream if you’re still thinking about it this much.”
And with that simple statement, the entire thing tumbled out of him.  Nothing was left out, though Jughead did edit some of the more intimate moments they’d spent together in his dream.  He was so wrapped up in making sure to include all the details - the corruption, the ever-burning ember of hope, the rocket - that he almost missed the fact that Betty had guided them through the town square three times as he divulged the dirty laundry about the underground boxing rings and Maple Club.
By the time they’d reached his house it was twilight and he was telling her about the prep school murders and fake FBI stings.  His mother (his real mother, thankfully, and not the drug running mom that had run out on him) brought them out dinner just as he got to his own faked death.
And for the first time in his life, Jughead’s entire focus wasn’t on getting seconds (and thirds).
When he was finally done with his tale, Betty let out a long whistle.  She pushed around the remaining bits of pie on her plate, lost in thought.  Now that his head was empty of that bizarre dream, Jughead’s appetite came back with a vengeance. He leaned over and snatched the rest of her pie crust and popped it into his mouth.
“Well?” he prompted, curious to get her take on his dream.
“Do you think the fish Ms. Beezley served today was off?”
He rolled his eyes and grinned at her ability to lighten the mood.   Jughead leaned back and set his elbows against the porch step behind him to look up at the sky.  Betty set her plate down and sat down next to him, primly smoothing out her skirt before she spoke.
“Do you really think we …” she paused.  “My mother?  And your dad?”
Jughead groaned and ran a hand down his face.  “I’d hate to think what Freud would say.”
“Well, he’d definitely agree it wasn’t a pipe,” she snickered.  “Maybe your subconscious is trying to tell you something?”
“Convince Archie that Jingle-Jangle is a terrible song to play to middle schoolers?”
She shrugged.  “Maybe.  Maybe not.”
As the world turned around them, they sat in companionable silence.  As curious as Jughead was to know what Betty really thought, it was these quiet moments with her that he felt truly at peace.  Perhaps that’s what the dream had signified.  With all the clamor and turmoil over senior year and applying for colleges, maybe his brain was trying to tell him to slow down and enjoy these little moments more.
Or maybe it was just a sign he shouldn’t shotgun a whole liter of soda before Grundy’s lecture on Dashiell Hammet.
“Walk me home?” Betty asked suddenly.
Without waiting for an answer, she hopped up and pulled Jughead to his feet, the same as they’d done a million times before.  Only this time Betty tugged a little too hard and Jughead stumbled into her.  He was about to apologize when he noticed the twinkle of mischief in her eyes.  To hide his smile, he bent over and tucked his shoulder into her stomach.  Betty shrieked as he lifted her up over her shoulder, precariously balancing the two of them as he picked up her books.
“Put me down Jones,” she said through her laughter, “or I’m telling Ethyl that you’d love to play D&D with her.”
“Dirty pool, Cooper,” he shot back as he casually sauntered down the block to her house.  He ignored the faint whisper of the peaches and cream lotion she used on her skin and the breathless lilt of her voice.  Because no matter how right it felt in the dream, they were only friends here. “And it’s G&G, remember?”
Once back on solid ground, Betty slipped her arm through his and they strolled along under the streetlights.  Just another night in the neighborhood without a care in the world.
“Maybe it wouldn’t be all that bad,” she said almost absentmindedly.  When she didn’t elaborate, Jughead’s heart gave a heavy, painful thump.  “I could always use more help with the B&G.”
He snorted and reached up to scratch his forehead to ignore the sudden disappointment.  “Toni does have some strong opinions about the gym’s new paint job.”
Betty stuck her tongue out at him, her face scrunched.  Jughead almost tripped trying not to kiss the tip of her nose.
His mood darkened when they reached her house.  Archie was on the front porch, napping, and the small seed of possibility withered into dust.  But instead of running towards Archie, Betty paused next to him.  Her teeth worked across her lip and she stared, unfocused at him.  Her hand on Jughead’s arm tightened and she shifted almost imperceptibly towards him.
With a small nod, Betty stood up on her toes and kissed Jughead on the cheek.  He flushed as the sun exploded in his chest.
“Meet me at Pop’s tomorrow after school.  There’s a new French movie at the Bijou, and I’d hate it if Veronica saw it before me.”
He knew the smile on his face was just as goofy as the one’s he made fun of Archie for, but Jughead couldn’t help but wonder at this strange new turn.  For once, he was excited to spend time alone with a girl.  (He was always excited to spend time with Betty Cooper, but this time she wasn’t just Betty.)
His smile lasted all the way home and continued until he settled into bed.  Just as he was falling asleep, his phone rang with a text from Betty.
‘Some of your dream sounded nice enough to try out in real life, don’t you think?’
To say that Jughead had trouble falling asleep for the first time was an understatement.

Magic Christmas Tree
I thought I’d try something different this year and find a bad Hannukah movie, but everybody I asked had the same recommendation: Adam Sandler’s Eight Crazy Nights.  I know for a fact that is a prohibitively awful film, because I know people who’ve watched parts of it (I have not to date met anyone who could sit through the whole thing), but it just doesn’t feel like an MST3K feature to me.  Anyway, I have standards.  My conclusion is that people need to make more Hannukah movies… and until that happens, I’m watching Magic Christmas Tree, which comes specially recommended by RiffTrax.
This is the only Christmas movie I’ve ever seen which starts with cheerful holiday music over footage of… Hallowe’en decorations. Obnoxious bully Mark and his two pushover friends decide to go investigate a supposedly-haunted house. Naturally the old lady who lives there is a witch, and in exchange for Mark rescuing her cat, she gives him a seed for a magical tree that will grant him three wishes.  Two months later, with the tree fully grown, his first wish is to have magical powers for one hour – he uses them to torment unfortunate people who were already having to work on Christmas Eve.  His second wish is to kidnap Santa Claus and extort unlimited presents from him, but that attracts the attention of the spirit of Greed, who intends to keep Mark as a slave forever!  Good thing he’s still got that third wish.
God, I hate this movie.  I’d say it’s the worst Christmas movie I’ve ever seen, but Elves exists, so instead I have to say it’s the worst Christmas movie that didn’t have any Nazis in it.  It reminds me more than anything else of Ghost of Dragstrip Hollow, in that it’s an absolute mess that seems to have been put together by people who have no idea what they’re doing.  It spends most of its time on boring, annoying irrelevant bullshit, and then when it gets to the plot, that’s boring and annoying, too!
Tumblr media
Magic Christmas Tree is only an hour long, but that’s twice as long as it needed to be.  A plot summary makes it sound like most of the film will be dealing with Mark’s three wishes and how he uses them, but it’s half-over before we even get to that point.  The time leading up to it is spent watching Mark follow the witch’s complicated instructions on how to grow and activate the tree, and his parents dealing with this unwanted thing appearing in the middle of their back yard.  All of this is presented in excruciating detail.  We watch Mark dig the entire hole to plant the seed in.  We see his Dad struggle with the lawnmower at unbelievable length, while the Mom yacks about nothing on the phone with her friend Betty.  The Dad tries to cut the tree down with no success.  Mark has to say a set of magic words over and over and over.
It goes on so long, it passes the are you fucking kidding me? point and wanders into territory where you wonder if there’s something wrong with the disk and you’re playing the scene over and over.  It actually starts to feel like it’s on purpose – especially when the slowness is repeatedly emphasized by shots of Mark’s pet tortoise, Ichabod, who seems to be eating his patch of clover far faster than anybody else is accomplishing anything.  You’ll swear the movie is making fun of you.
Tumblr media
The sound that accompanies all this is sometimes very peculiar.  The old lady has exactly the voice you’d expect from a witch in a cheap kid’s movie, but Mark’s Mom sounds like she’s being dubbed by a twelve-year-old boy, possibly the same one who provided the voice for Mark himself.  The tree speaks (oh, yes, it does) in the voice of a smarmy stereotypical gay man.  Santa Claus sounds like he’s half-senile and wondering what’s for lunch.
The lawnmower makes some very strange noises indeed. I guess they’re meant to be cartoonish and funny.  They’re definitely the former but they’re never the latter, possibly because they never sound remotely like a lawnmower.  When Mark’s Dad is trying to get it started it sounds like the ghost of a consumptive horse, and three hours later when it actually gets going, it makes noises like a traffic jam in Whoville.
Besides sounding weird, the actors are just plain bad.  The guy playing Santa Claus is half-asleep.  We’re told that the tree’s magic means he’s trapped in the chair he’s sitting in, and I honestly do believe that actor could not have gotten up if he tried, no wishes necessary.  The woman playing Mark’s Mom looks like she’s high as a kite and only barely keeping her grip on reality.  Maybe that’s why they had to dub her.  Mark’s Dad recites his lines like a guy on a game show reading his own life story off a teleprompter, and does his yard chores in a way that’s probably supposed to be pantomimey but is the opposite of entertaining.  The Dad gets an inordinate amount of screen time, which I can only chalk up to the fact that he’s played by director Dick Parish.
Tumblr media
The worst of the lot are, of course, the kids, who are predictably terrible 60’s child actors.  They yell all their lines, with the volume and exaggerated emphasis you expect from a school play.  It wears thin very, very quickly.  The kid playing Mark is the worst of the lot, although I might just think that because he’s the one we spend the most time with.  He’s a huge part of why this movie makes me so mad.
I think the best way to describe Mark as a character is to say that the first time I watched this movie I assumed his name was ‘Billy’, despite the fact that everybody kept calling him ‘Mark’. He just seems like the type of nasty little brat who’d be named ‘Billy’ in a bad 60’s Christmas movie.  We meet him having lunch with his two friends by the playground, and learn that he’s a greedy little shit when he drives a hard bargain in a sandwich trade.  Greedy-little-shit-itude continues to be his primary character trait and is, of course, the core of the movie’s lesson.  His attempt to monopolize Santa Claus makes him such a greedy little shit that Greed himself takes an interest in him.
Greed is a huge hairy man who takes delight in kidnapping little boys.  I think he’s supposed to look like a fairy tale giant.  Watching him manhandle a child is an intensely uncomfortable experience.
Tumblr media
I guess ‘don’t be greedy’ is a standard message for a children’s movie, and it seems like a particularly appropriate one for Christmas, which presents children with a great opportunity for avarice. What seems a little odd is that Mark never actually suffers any consequences for his selfishness, only the vague threat of them. There was a perfect opportunity for some of this when Mark kidnaps Santa Claus.  Santa, after all, brings toys to good girls and boys… surely by this point, after his brief reign of terror with his magical powers, Mark has been naughty enough to deserve only coal.  Apparently that’s not how it works, though.  Mark just wanders off into the woods in search of small animals to shoot with his new rifle, runs into the giant, and immediately repents even though Greed is offering him all the toys and candy he wants.
What supposedly prompts Mark to become a better person is seeing how the world has responded to Santa Claus going missing.  Curiously, there is very little emphasis on the children who are sad because they didn’t get any presents.  Maybe somebody thought that would have made them seem greedy? Instead, the vision Greed presents to Mark is of the United States military mobilizing to locate Santa and bring him home, Santa Claus Conquers the Martians-style!  So… I guess Mark becomes a better person because he’s afraid of what’s going to happen if the army finds Santa trapped in a chair in his house?  I guess that is pretty terrifying.
Another thing that blunts the lesson is the fact that Mark is given his three wishes as a reward for a good deed.  He got the witch’s cat down from the tree, so she offers him the magical seed and doesn’t let him refuse.  What then was he supposed to use his three wishes for, if not to get stuff for himself? Was this intentionally a poisoned gift, because you shouldn’t accept things from witches?  The witch insists that there are good witches as well as wicked ones, but she’s not exactly an unbiased source.  The movie never tries to blame her, though.  The situation is presented as Mark’s fault, and Mark’s alone.
Finally, at the end Mark wakes up and finds that of course the whole thing was a dream – there was no witch, no magic tree, and no Santa Claus.  This is less annoying than it could have been because at least it’s not a surprise. Mark did hit his head when he fell out of the tree the cat was in, and the movie changed from black and white to colour.  We’ve seen this before in The Wizard of Oz and we can guess where it’s going. The audience might assume that Mark will wake up and immediately take the opportunity to be generous instead of greedy, perhaps by giving his friend something to make up for the lunch trade. Instead, the woman who owns the cat (who is not actually a witch, but looks even more like one in this part of the film than she does wearing the Hallowe’en witch costume in Mark’s dream) offers him milk and cookies, and he delightedly accepts.  This just gives the impression that he’s learned nothing.
Is there anything in this movie I didn’t hate?  Well… among Mark’s school friends is a token black kid, who is not differentiated in any way from his peers.  He talks like them, he dresses like them, and the writers did not use either his lunch or his Hallowe’en plans as a way to demarcate a class difference between him and the others.  So yeah, the movie sucks, but the writers tried really hard not to be racist.
Happy fucking holidays.  I want to say hooray for surviving 2020, but we’ve still got a week to go.  That’s plenty of time for oh, I don’t know, an alien invasion, or a giant meteor, or the Yellowstone supervolcano, or zombies, or whatever.  At this point, if most of us aren’t dead by this time next year, I’ll count that as a win.

2020-2021 Animation Watch(ed)list
I haven’t posted about animation in a while that I remember, and I know a lot of my followers are into it as much as me so I decided to make a list of the animated movies and series I watched on the past year or so, coupled with my short, spoilerless take on them. Enjoy!
Organized by
Things I saw for the first time
Things I rewatched
Under a cut for the sake of your dashboards! PS: I have not added any images yet. If you are interested in knowing more about the visuals of these movies, I might make an old fashion ask-prompted imageset list.
Part One: Things I saw for the first time
The Bear’s Famous Invasion of Sicily
Movie, 2019, Italian/French
9/10, a delightful little movie with amazing visuals. It feels like an animated picture book.
One of those “plot is in the title” media! I had never heard of this before but was heavily recommended it by my family members, who all loved it! It’s a sweet story, nothing groundbreaking but the unique colorful visual style alone makes it worth it.
The Castle of Cagliostro
Movie, 1979, Japanese
10/10. Reminded me of all the books i loved reading as a child
I assume its because it’s so old and the art style and themes are so different that it gets little to no love compared to other Ghibli movies, which is a shame! It’s fun with an endearing cast and as always, great animation and music
Mushishi
Series, 2006, Japanese
10/10 three episodes in I knew it was going to be my favorite series ever
One of the few things I’ve seen I’ll describe as life-changing. It’s absolutely lovely but never toots its own horn about it. Humble, calming, emotional and surprisingly mature. It’s pretty impossible to binge due to how intense the experience is. I just want to walk in the forest now...
FMA: Brotherhood
Series, 2009, Japanese
6/10 Dissapointing adaptation of a classic story
I read the manga for this when I was in middle school and remembered loving it. The animated version does an ok job of presenting the characters and worldbuilding and has some nice action scenes but overall looks really damn cheap and just. Not very good. Seeing I already knew most of the plot I did not have the element of discovery that made me marvel so much reading the original. It’s still a nice series but I really recommend reading it instead.
Code Lyoko (s1+2)
Series, 2003, french
3/10. 1.5 being for the opening song alone
This show sucks ass if I hadn’t been watching this with my bestie I would have dropped it two episodes in. The art style is ugly the stories are always the same and the first season has a (later removed thank fucking god) LITERAL “erase any consequences” button as a plot device in every episode. If you watch it for one thing let it be the nostalgia factor of early 00s Vidya Game Plot
The Legend of Hei
Movie, 2019, Chinese
7/10. Impressive visuals and a poor story
I finally watched this, peer pressured by the load of gifsets on my dashboard! It’s a sweet movie with really impressive animation, sometimes a bit too flashy for my taste (the action sequences go so ham they become not very readable...) but the story was just ok? The setting is barely explained and you are instead bombarded with vague epicspeech about powers and stuff that made me fondly remember Kingdom Hearts lol but that asides it’s a really good time! I need to watch more Chinese movies the few I know are just delightfully off the shits in how they approach action and I love that
Hunter x Hunter
Series, 1999, Japanese
9/10. Superior to the recent one!
I first got introduced to the series via the 2011 one. Comparatively, the 99 series focuses way less on action and way more on the characters, which I love because that fits my personal preferences! Despite mediocre filler episodes and some weird slight pointless plot changes, what it changes from the original manga doesn’t have much of an impact on the characters. The animation quality isn’t always consistent including a huge art style change for an arc (???) but it’s overall pretty nice. The series really shines in the last arc it adapts.
Oban Star-racers
Series, 2006, Japanese/french
9/10 a lovely surprise
This series is completly obscure despite having been created by people famous for their other series (Cowboy Bebop, Code Lyoko that i can name) and it’s a crime! It’s a kids show but without being stupid about it who tells the story of an inter-planetary race. If you liked that one scene in the star wars prequels you know what I mean. It’s got surprisingly nice animation for a TV series, and some truly great character design. The art style is a bit unique in a not for everyone sense, but I didn’t mind it much. It’s also THE most offensively 2000s series i’ve seen in terms of visuals. y2k kids assemble
The Little Prince and the Eight-Headed Dragon
Movie, 1963, japanese
8/10. Classic fairytale format with incredible visuals
Watched this for the art style because I know it inspired Samurai Jack, and it delievered! I dont’ have much to say about this one, it’s a very simply film but it’s sweet. For my pirates out there if you want to find it in good quality with english subtitles it’s VERY hard to find. If you just want to see the looks of it, it’s on Youtube with portugese subs.
We now enter the Gobelins Shorts Zone....!
My Friend Who Glows In The Dark
10/10 makes me cry each time
Pure delight...great animation writing everything. A little short about death and friendship but not in the way you imagine!
Colza
9/10
Visual treat...homely and nice :) not far from a 10 but a 9 because nothing about it is that groundbreaking
Sundown
9/10
If you’ve ever been ten minutes from failing a group project because of a single dude you will REALLY enjoy this. Loved the colors and personality
T’as vendu mes rollers?
10/10
It’s SUCH a sweet little short I loved that one so much
Dix-huit kilomètres trois
10/10
Surprisingly well written dialog. Visuals are great but the humanity of the characters carries this to another level
Un diable dans la poche
9/10
Amazing visuals and the most tense/creepy of Gobelin shorts i’ve ever seen. Chilling
La bestia
8/10
I had some issues with the pacing. Interesting story and visuals choices but I was not fond of the art style
Goodbye Robin
5/10
Confusing but predictable. Both at once??? Yes!
Le retour des vagues
6/10
Cool animation stuff but felt pretty pointless
                                                                ***
Part Two: Things I rewatched
Ruben Brandt: Collector
Movie, 2018, Hungarian
10/10. Underrated as hell
Watched this fully blind for the first time in an animated festival and rewatched it with friends. It’s a crime I never see anyone talking about it given the amount of whining I see about the lack of both adult animation and 2D movies? This film is a unique love letter to art in the form of a weird mix of charming crime story and psychological horror with amazing visuals. I recommend watching it blind and also buying it to show appreciation for how nice it is!!! WATCH THIS MOVIE...
Mononoke
Series, 2007, Japanese
10/10 Visual/storytelling masterpiece in the weird shit departement
If you can stomach intense stuff watch this. The visuals are incredibly unique and beautiful and under the jewel tones and art direction high takes it’s a really cool horror series. My only obstacle to enjoying it the first time I saw it was how dense it is - simply put, it’s so...culturally Japanese it’s not very accessible to me who doesn’t know anything about the culture? Watching it for the second time helped understanding the stories more!
Corto Maltese in Siberia
Movie, 2002, french
9/10 but really close to ten. A great adaptation!
I’m a huge fan of the original comic so I entered this a biiiittttt suspicious it would suck but it was a really pleasant surprise! It has all the wonder and charm of the original and the animation was surprisingly good for the little budget. If you’re not familiar with the series, it’s a sort of geopolitical action/adventure movie but with it’s own really poetic vibe to it. It’s almost impossible to find online but happens to be fully on YouTube so go ham I guess?
Redline
Movie, 2009, Japanese
10/10 cinema was invented for this, actually
Every review of this movie i’ve seen gives it five stars and starts by talking about how immensly stupid it is. I’m no different. It’s a masterpiece of escalating energy with the depth of a puddle and it fucking rules. It’s free on YouTube too so there really is no excuse to not watch it. Watched it for the first time on a huge cinema screen and despite this my second rewatch on my small laptop was as/even more enjoyable. If you watch this stoned with friends you might travel to another dimension
Spirited Away
Movie, 2001, Japan
10/10 deserves the love it gets
I watched this a single time as a kid and had little memory of it! I mean it’s Ghibli you know it’s going to be good as hell but this one rly shines in how colorful and detailed it is and in it’s world! It made me remember I had a huge crush on the dragonboy as a kid. I’m gay now
Kung-fu Panda (1&2)
Movie, Usa
10/10. KFP fucking rules
Honestly my favorite franchise of the whole disney/dreamworks/pixar hydra. It’s fun as hell, doesn’t skip a single beat and has amazing animation and character designs. If something is a good time I will not care if it’s deep or not and boy I fucking love these movies
Sinbad, Legend of the Seven Seas
Movie, 2003, Usa
5/10 Some great some really bad and overall generic
I tend to hate american cinema and this includes that era of animation I have no nostalgia for. Sinbad is in a weird place because I love adventure stories and the visuals of the movie absolutely deliver but it’s very predictable and TANKED by the addition of the female character, pushed in your face as “look we have woman!!!” despite her writing being misogynistic as hell lol. The evil goddess rules tho. This movie would have been a solid 9 if instead of the girl the two dudes had kissed

Kiss Bang

Kiss Bang
August 20, 2020
WC: 1964
-----
When you fell asleep on the gunner, his face had immediately flushed a violent crimson. No matter how much time had passed since you and Prompto got together, the blind always reacted this way when surrounded by the others. Noctis had been the first to notice, a sly smirk alighting on his lips. He had known of his best friend's feelings for you since he and Prompto had met you in high school.
***
It had been their last year of high school, and they were hanging out in the arcade they frequented. Prompto was watching Noct try his hand at one of the shooter games, the blond smirking as the prince fumble terribly.
"C'mon, Noct, just admit it," Prompto smiled, clasping his friend's shoulder. "You're just not good at shooter games."
"Like hell I'll ever admit that," the prince grumbled. He was about to give it another go when you showed up. Both he and Prompto could only watch in awe as you decimated the pixelated enemies, far surpassing even Prompto's score. When you finished, you had taken the top spot on the leaderboard with a small smirk. As you turned, Prompto caught sight of your eyes. They were breathtaking. Literally, he forgot to breathe.
"Dude, you're turning purple," Noct muttered, and Prompto inhaled deeply -- too deep, because he started coughing. Your (e/c) hues turned to him, concern evident in your gaze as you watched the blond struggle to breathe. You vaguely remember seeing him around school, but couldn't for the life of you remember what his name was -- or if you actually knew it.
"Hey, are you okay?" you asked, placing a hand on the blond's shoulder. His blue-violet eyes clashed with your own, making you inhale sharply.
Bang.
"Ye-yeah," Prompto stumbled, hurrying to stand straight and giving you a shy smile. "I-I'm fine, thanks."
***
You couldn't get the blond boy out of your head. He was beautiful: the freckles that painted his cheeks and nose, that gentle smile he had given you. And, fuck, his eyes. They were the most intense color you had ever seen, a sea of blue encased in violet. You were sure that no human being could possess eyes like his, and yet--
"(Y/n)!" your friend yelled, snapping you out of your reverie. Your head snapped up, looking them in the eyes. They had a small frown on their face. "You okay? You've been acting weird ever since you talked to that blond..."
"Yeah, I'm fine," you reassured them, taking a sip from your soda. Your friend watched you skeptically, but you paid them no mind -- your brain was filled with thoughts of the blond, and only him. Why hadn't I talked to him before? Had I just never noticed him? No, I clearly remember seeing him in the halls at school... so why--
Again, you were pulled from your thoughts by your friend's voice, dragging you into a conversation. So engrossed talking with your friend, you didn't notice a certain blond watching you.
"Prompto, stop staring. It's creepy..." Noct mumbled, the prince trying the shooter game again. Prompto's blond brows furrowed at his friend's choice of words, yet he didn't stop. Blue-violet orbs looked at the uniform you wore, and Prompto frowned. You went to his school, so why hadn't he seen you before? You looked to be about the same age as him and Noct, but he couldn't be certain.
The more he watched you talk with your friend, the more Prompto wanted to get to know you. You had overtaken him in his best game, beating out his score several times over. That wasn't just luck -- you had undeniable skill with guns. But he couldn't help but wonder if that was all you were skilled with.
Even days later, Prompto was on the lookout for you at school, and as the weekend rolled around he couldn't help but feel a certain pang of disappointment. The longer he went without seeing you -- without talking with you -- the lesser his chances felt to even approach you.
"I just don't get it, Noct," the blond whined, trailing after the prince. "She was wearing our uniform, but I haven't seen her at all."
"What's blondie on about?" Gladio grumbled, joining the two boys.
"A girl he met at the arcade," Noct answered plainly.
"Not just any girl!" Prompto defended. "She was awesome! Noct, you saw the way she used guns! You can't tell me it wasn't amazing!"
"Guns?" That had piqued Gladio's interest, amber eyes turning to the blond. "What did she look like?"
"Why?" Prompt asked slowly, his eyes narrowing.
"Because now I'm curious," Gladio snorted. He stretched his arms over his head, closing his eyes for the briefest of seconds. "Besides, the Guard just got a new recruit, around your guys' age. She's pretty handy with guns, too. So, tell me: what did she look like?"
"She had (e/c) eyes and (h/c) hair, and was about this tall," Prompto began, lifting his hand up to his shoulder. A smile was quick to split his face. "Man, you should've seen her! She was amazing, Gladio!"
"(E/c) and (h/c), huh?" the Shield muttered, hand lifting to rest on his chin. "Sounds like (Y/n) -- the new recruit I was telling you about."
(Y/n). Prompto let the name roll around in his mind before a smile came to his face.
"You think we'll get to meet her today?" Prompto blurted out, his face growing hot when he realized what he had said. Gladio let out a hearty laugh at the expression on the blond's face.
"Yeah. She's training with us today."
***
"Whoa." Prompto had to agree with Noct. Never in a million years did he think he'd see someone so comfortable with firearms, yet (Y/n) used them as if they were extensions of your own body. You were quick, too; never wasting a single second as you demonstrated for the others trainees. Your body was firm in its position as you fired, moving nary a centimeter from the gun's recoil.
Prompto’s tongue was nearly hanging out of his mouth as he watched you. It wouldn’t be an understatement to say the blond was awestruck.
“Noct! Noct!” he whispered, tugging at the back of the prince’s shirt. He heard Noct snort, but he turned to watch you regardless. Yes, the prince had seen you utterly kill it at the arcade game, but watching you use live firearms -- it made Noct uneasy. The way you moved, the way you carried yourself made it seem like you were born to fight.
When training had wrapped up, Prompto found the courage to approach you. You were maintaining your gun.
“He-hey,” Prompto stuttered, and you turned to face him. When your eyes met his, you nearly dropped your gun, not expecting to see the blond again -- least of all here.
“Hey,” you replied quietly, your eyes straying to look at the table. Prompto noticed this, and a small frown alighted on his features for a split second.
“I’m Prompto,” he smiled, hand outstretched. You only saw it because you had dared to look back at him. You hesitated for a moment before clasping his hand in your own.
“I’m (Y/n).”
“I know.” Your raised brow had Prompto trying to backtrack. “I-I mean -- Gladio, he--”
“I guess he told you, then,” you grinned. “That man has got to learn how to keep his mouth shut.”
“Sorry…”
“Not your fault,” you shook your head, taking your hand back and finishing with your firearm. It reminded Prompto why he had approached you in the first place.
“Hey, I was wondering,” he began, eyes shifting to look to his right. His hand came to rest at his nape, a slight flush painting his face and ears. He was silent for a few moments before his blue-violet eyes flicked back to meet yours. “Could you teach me?”
“Teach you?” you parroted. You had seen him during training; he didn’t need help with firearms.
“Yeah, teach me.” His lips pulled up in a brilliant smile, his eyes crinkling at the corners.
“Why me?”
“‘Cuz you’re the best gunner I know.”
Bang.
***
Your (e/c) eyes opened slowly, a slight smile on your lips when they were met with blond hair. Carefully, you sat up. It was rare that you woke before Prompto, and you intended to capitalize on it. A hand went to run through his hair, and you bit a knuckle of your free hand to keep from laughing. Prompto had let out a purr-like sound when you had touched his hair. His arms wrapped tighter around your waist, nose burying itself in your stomach.
“Need some help there?” Gladio smirked, but you shook your head.
“He needs to get some rest,” you whispered, smile turning gentle as you watched the blond. “He’s been pushing himself too hard lately.”
“That’s so he can keep up with you,” Gladio snorted, and you pouted at the man before looking down at Prompto. You had known the blond for three years now. When he had asked you to teach him, you had been skeptical at first. You didn’t think you could teach him all that much; he had already been one of the best gunmen you had seen, even at seventeen. Fairly quickly, it had turned into you being the one taught.
“He doesn’t have to worry about that,” you pout. You ran your hand through the blond strands again. “He’s already far out of my league, in many ways.”
***
After you had spoken with Gladio, you watched Prompto progress at an unnatural pace. He was a prodigy with firearms, you knew this, but you couldn’t help the pang of jealousy that struck your breast. It was there for not a moment before it was gone, leaving guilt in its place.
It had become a struggle to keep up with him, now. He was above and beyond what you could ever hope to be, at least in your lifetime. No matter how hard you tried, all you saw was his back as he kept going forward.
“Babe, you okay?” Prompto’s voice startled you, making your head snap up from where it rested on your knees.
“I’m fine, Live Wire,” you cooed. “Just a bit tired.”
“Then come on,” he grinned, grabbing your hand and pulling you to your feet. He laced your fingers with his, his smile turning from blinding to soft -- filled with love and adoration -- and pulled you into the tent. Your own smile graced your lips as you followed after the blond. He took up his spot between Gladio’s sleeping bag and Ignis’s, pulling you down with him.
Prompto’s arms wound around your waist, pulling you into his chest. His lips resting against your forehead, you could feel the smile that had yet to disappear.
Kiss.
“I love you, (Y/n),” he muttered, pressing kisses to your temples.
“I love you, too, Live Wire,” you giggled. The hands at your back disconnected, one going to your hand. His fingers, woven with yours once more, gave your hand a light squeeze. Suddenly, your eyes were met with seas of indigo, Prompto touching his nose to yours.
“My little dead-eye,” the blond cooed.
Bang.
“Fuck, why’re you so cute, dammit?!” you pouted. Prompto’s laugh encased you as he pulled you to his chest. You smiled against him, the vibrations of his chest eased your mind; there was no reason to feel envy towards the blond. You had both trained long and hard for the Crownsguard, and not once had he thought himself superior to you. You snuggled against his chest, “Thank you, Prompto.”
“Anytime, babe.”

Hi can i request a dreamcatcher handong scenario with this prompt "Person A making fun of people on their college soccer team but falling in love with one of the players, Person B." (handong as Person A)
Author’s note: Hey, sorry I took so long to answer your request. I kept trying but I just couldn’t come up with any ideas for how to write this. I ended up going a little of script but I hope you enjoy it anyways.
Tumblr media
False Expectations
Handong rolled her eyes at the sight of the soccer team heading out of the locker room and into the field, ready for practice. Especially at the sight of one particular player. Y/N. She was the single most cocky person Hangdon had ever had the displeasure of meeting and the mere sight of her was enough for her to want to never see her again.
Unfortunately for her, her friends loved to hang out in the shadows of a cluster of trees in order to study or simply talk. And it was from her place, leaning against the base of the tree, that she had the perfect view of the soccer team.
Handong had had bad experiences with her high school soccer team. The captain, some girl named Jinny, had spent most of those four years making Gahyeon’s, Handong’s best friend, life hell. She hadn’t found out about it until almost the end of their Junior year and when she did and she went to confront the older girl, Jinny had the rest of her teammates hold her down while she repeatedly punched her.
The experience had left her with a hate for soccer players, particularly for Y/N who reminded her a little bit too much of Jinny. Unfortunately for her, it seemed that she had also caught Y/N’s attention as the slightly older girl would always catch her eye during practice and wink at her. It had become something of a routine for her to jog towards her group of friends after practice and ask her out, no matter how many times Handong continued to turn her down. Handong refused to be just another one of your conquests.
Her friends, especially Bora, constantly tried to convince her to give Y/N a chance but she just couldn’t stop comparing her to Jinny. The way they both held themselves as thought they were better than everyone else left a bitter taste in her mouth.
“Checking out your girlfriend again Dongie?” Bora asked, a smirk on her face. “Hey, leave her alone”, Minji scolded her. “What, I was just asking. Besides, shouldn’t you be paying attention to your own girlfriend?” she questioned, motioning towards Yoohyeon who looked like she was about to throw her book away in frustration. “Why the hell did I decide to study pre-med?” she muttered angrily.
“Believe me, we’re all wondering the same thing”, Bora teased, only for her smirk to fall a second later when two different hands met with the back of her head. “Seriously?” she muttered, rubbing the back of her head. Minji looked unaffected by her glare while Siyeon simply glared back at her. “Be nice to Yoohyeon”, she warned. Bora didn’t say anything but she visibly started sulking after Yubin’s “whipped”, was heard.
Handong shook her head, amused by her friend’s antics. Her good mood, however, evaporated a few moments later when she realized practice had ended and Y/N was making her way towards them once again. She let out an annoyed sight, wondering how long it would take for Y/N to get the message that she wasn’t interested in her.
“Hey Dong. I was wondering at what time should I stop by your dorm to pick you up for our date”, you asked her, your usual smug smirk infuriating her to no end. “For the last time, only my friends call me that. And never. I am absolutely never going out with someone as annoying as you. Get that into your thick skull once and for all and leave me alone”. She responded harshly.
Handong was usually always polite while rejecting you but the heat of the sun, the headache she’d had all day and the stress of finals finally got to be too much and she snapped at you, hoping you would finally take the hint and leave her alone. You usually smiled at her while she rejected you, used to it and ready to try again during the next practice but her unusually harsh words made your smile falter, unused to such harshness from the usually kind girl.
You hesitated briefly, taking a second to collect yourself before putting back your usual smile, although a bit forced this time. “Well then. I’m sorry if I annoyed you that much. That was never my intention. I’ll leave you alone from now on”, you apologized, before turning around and leaving.
Handong felt surprised at the hurt she managed to get a glimpse of in your eyes. She felt a weird urge to call you back and apologize but she repressed it, wondering why she wasn’t more elated at hearing you say you would leave her alone from now on.
“Well damn. That hurt just by witnessing. You shot her right down”, Bora said, breaking the silence that had descended over Handong’s group. “Siyeon, if you will”, Minji said, a content smile breaking over her face as Siyeon once again slapped the back of her girlfriend’s head, ignoring the pout the older girl sent her. “You deserved it”, she said simply.
And with that, the incident that had just happened was forgotten as the girls descended into their usual bickering, with Yoohyeon threatening to hit them if they didn’t shut up and help her study and Yubin sitting in silence judging them all. Gahyeon was the only one who noticed how Handong seemed to be bothered by the events and simply grabbed her hand, sending her a small smile when the older girl looked at her questioningly. “Maybe you judged her too quickly?” she suggested, keeping her voice low so the others wouldn’t overhear. Handong shrugged her concern off. “I doubt it. It’s probably some technique she’s trying to manipulate me. You’ll see she’ll be back by next practice like nothing happened”, she promised, ignoring the guilt pooling in her stomach.
——————
Two days later, Handong was once again, sitting in the same spot with her friends, ignoring their rowdy bickering as she watched you playing. You seemed even more concentrated than usual and she quickly noticed the lack of flirty smiles and winks you sent her, seemingly avoiding her gaze now. She knew that she should be happy that you were apparently keen on keeping your word but she couldn’t get Gahyeon’s words out of her head. Maybe she had judged you a bit harshly.
I mean, if she really thought about it, the only things you seemed to have in common with Jinny was that you both were captains of your respective soccer teams and maybe she had misjudged your confidence for cockiness. And it’s not like confidence was a bad thing, she reasoned.
All this thinking was giving her a headache. She slightly hated herself for letting Gahyeon’s words get to her but now she couldn’t help but feel bad about the way she had talked to you. She’d always considered herself to be someone approachable and nice but the way she’d talked to you was in no way either of those things.
After practice ended, she watched from her spot as you picked up your gym bag, slung it over your shoulder and, for the first time in the year since Handong had started college and started coming to that spot with her friends, you walked the opposite way, completely ignoring the other girl. Handong questioned why she wanted you to turn back around so much, as she stared at your retreating form.
----------
It was almost two weeks later and Handong was once more watching you as you focused intensely on practice when her friends finally had enough. “Oh my god Dongie. Just go ask her out or apologize or something”, Bora said, exasperatedly. “I can’t believe I’m saying this but for once, I agree with Bora. Just admit you feel bad and go talk to her”, Yoohyeon pitched in.
Handong turned to look at them quizzically. “What are you talking about? Why would I ask her out when I finally got her to stop asking me out?” All her friends shared exasperated looks with each other, much to Handong’s annoyance. “Because you like her and you’re just either too oblivious to realize it or too stubborn to do anything about it”, Yubin stated, like it was the most obvious thing in the world.
Handong started to refute their accusations when realization washed over her like a cold wave. Huh, maybe that explained why she hadn’t been able to get you out of her mind, she reasoned, shocked she hadn’t realized the truth before. She guessed that this was why people said there was a thin line between hate and love. Not that she loved you or anything, she told herself. Not yet, at least.
Now that she had finally realized her feelings, all that was left to do was to try to fix things with you. She only hoped she wasn’t too late. She waited for practice to finish but quickly packed up her things once she saw you start to leave. She slung her bag over her back, leaving with a quick “see you later” to her friends, all who had similar smirks once they saw her running towards you.
“They grow up so fast”, Bora said, mock wiping a nonexistent tear from the corner of her eye. She wasn’t even surprised this time by the quick slap to the back of her head. “At this rate, I’ll soon be as dumb as Yoohyeon”, she complained to Siyeon who looked unapologetically back at her.
She was met by a heavy book thrown at her legs by said girl, only to regret it moments later when Bora lunged at her and grabbed her neck and started shaking her, both girls girlfriends, Minji and Siyeon, giving up on them and leaving them to their struggle as they turned back to look at how Handong was doing, along with Yubin and Gahyeon. They were relieved to see that she had caught up to you in the distance and wondered what you were talking about.
---------
Meanwhile, while Bora and Yoohyeon were fighting, Handong ran after you, trying to catch up with you. “Hey Y/N”, she shouted, trying to get your attention. You quickly stopped at hearing her voice, turning to look at her, confused by the approaching figure. You dimly wondered if you had done anything else to offend her.
You had done your best to comply with her wishes, leaving her alone. When you’d first laid eyes on her almost one year ago you were convinced that you simply had to get to know the other girl. That first time you’d approached her after practice and asked her out, you had genuinely been surprised at her rejection but had reasoned that maybe she was shy or just playing hard to get and you were sure that if you kept trying you would get her to change your mind. Especially considering that you’d noticed the way her eyes seemed glued to you during practice.
You kept your proposals to only twice a week after practice, as to not overwhelm her, and were always met with the same, short but polite decline, stating that she needed to focus on her studies. It soon became something of a tradition and you made the stupid mistake of thinking that the younger girl had come to enjoy it as much as you.
When she’d let her true feelings out, however, a few weeks ago, you’d felt horribly embarrassed at the fact that you’d apparently been nothing more than a huge annoyance to her and you’d quickly apologized, feeling ashamed of your actions. Which is why you were understandably confused at Handong’s approaching figure.
You stood there, waiting for her. A few seconds later, she finally stood before you, panting a little from the running. “What’s wrong?” you asked her, slightly worried. “What? Why would something be wrong?” she questioned. You shrugged your shoulders, your confusion increasing. “I don’t see why else you would be talking to me. Especially since I’m such an annoyance”, you said, reminding her of the words she herself had called you.
Handong visibly winced at hearing her own words. “About that, actually…” she said, rubbing the back of her neck awkwardly. “I wanted to apologize. I never should have spoken to you in that way”, she said. You shook your head at her words. “Nonsense, I’m happy you finally let me know how you felt. I really am sorry I bothered you so much. It really wasn’t my intention.” Handong shook your apology away. “It’s fine, you weren’t a bother.”
You were still a bit confused about what prompted Handong to approach you after weeks had gone by without any contact but you were glad to fix things between the both of you, having felt awkward about the incident since it happened. “I’m glad to hear that. Well… if that’s all…” you said, making a move to walk away.
“Wait”, Handong called, making you stop in your tracks once more. “Ask me again” she said. “What?”, you asked. She couldn’t possibly be talking about what you were thinking about. Could she? “Ask me again”, she repeated, taking a step closer to you, confidence radiating from her suddenly. She looked so attractive, looking at you like that and you suddenly remembered why you had been so taken with her. And why you still were.
“Are you serious? You’re not just joking around?” you asked, cautious of putting your heart on the line only to be rejected again. You weren’t sure you could take the heartbreak again. “Ask me”, she said, voice sterner this time.
“Will you go out with me?” you asked for the hundredth time. And for the first time, Handong nodded yes, hope immediately blooming in your chest. “Wait, you’re serious?” Handong laughed at how unconfident you suddenly were, so unlike the cocky image she previously had had of you. “Yes really”, she assured you. “Pick me up at seven” she told you, turning around and walking back to her friends without another word, a newfound confidence in her strides.
You stared at her retreating form wordlessly before you finally comprehended her words. “Oh fuck” you said, as you realized you had been asking her out for more than a year now and yet had absolutely nothing planned for where to take her. You quickly turned around, already googling romantic restaurants nearby.

Momo Yaoyorozu Fluff Alphabet | Part 2 | Letters M-Z
Guys, I love her so much. This took awhile to finish but here it is! Read Part 1 here.
credit to creator of the fluff alphabet prompt list here
Tumblr media
Marriage - Do they want to get married? How do they propose? What would the marriage be like?
In a word…yes.
However, Momo never dreamed of marriage as a little girl nor did she ever feel like she needed marriage - or any relationship - to be happy. She has her family, friends, a fulfilling career, tea, and other passions (i.e advocacy, fundraising, etc.) to keep her busy.
Momo doesn’t date to get married or because she’s lonely or needs another person to feel complete. She dates you because she loves you. She marries you because she wants to spend the rest of her life with you. (Oh, and the legal benefits. One of which is that threats against spouses of various federal employees is a federal crime. Including pro heroes. Don’t fuck with Creati’s baby :) :)  She will use every possible way to ruin a person’s life forever if they come after you.)
Basically, YOU make HER want to get married. And you bet your ass she’s gonna put a ring on that.
Forget about “stimulating the economy” and that trickle down economics bull shit. Momo is making your ring - a symbol of YOUR LOVE - herself, and only the best of the best for you. She spends hours researching designs, meanings of various gemstones, the durability of metals. All the “samples” she makes are a small fortune in and of herself.
When she proposes, Momo takes you to a botanical garden - the same one you both went to on one of your first dates. Literally rents the entire place out. While you walk around, you start to get nostalgic just as she hoped and reminisce.
Holding your hands, Momo talks about the first time she saw you, her favorite memories, how you’ve made her so happy. She tells you how you’ve changed her and helped her grow as a person, how everyday has been such a blessing.
Then she makes the ring, right then and there, for you. Softly, reverently, she asks, “Can we spend the rest of our days together like this?”
Marriage actually makes Momo much more comfortable with PDA. Whereas before she would only go as far holding your hand, now she presses loving kisses to your face and strokes your hair and is in general at least 20% more touchy. Marriage gives her a sense of security and - in a weird way - “propriety”. It’s one thing to lovey dovey with a datemate in public; it’s another to be affectionate with one’s spouse.
Oh, yeah. She loves the sound of it. Whenever your name comes up, it’s always “my spouse, y/n” or “y/n, my spouse”. It just makes her so giddy to say.
The feeling’s mutual of course. Anytime Creati is on TV, kicking ass or looking so pristine in an interview, you’re like:
Tumblr media
Nicknames - What do they call their s/o?
Momo is full of sweet, doting nicknames: darling, my love, dear, dearest, beloved. These are usually accompanied by a kiss on your hand or temple.
All in private, though. You’d have to take her by surprise with a sudden visit to the office or it’d have to be an intensely emotional situation for Momo to call you those sweet names in public.
But Momo doesn’t need to call you a pet name in public for people to know who you are to her. Just the soft, almost reverent way she says your name - practically cooing it - says it all. Everyone knows that you’re her darling even if she doesn’t outright call you it in public.
On Cloud Nine - What are they like when they are in love? Is it obvious for others? How do they express their feelings?
Okay, so this is gonna be a little contradictory but…I see Momo as being both the most relaxed she’s ever been in her life and more focused than she’s ever been before.
You teach her that it’s okay to be herself and not this image of her “best self” she always has in her head. You make her feel safe enough to be let go of her perfectionism and accept her enough that she gradually drops one insecurity after another. She can be messy around you. She can be loud or quiet or giggly or grouchy or literally anything else. She’s just Momo with you.
Finally with some kind of outlet, the explicit permission to be free, it’s like watching an entire lifetime of tension slip away.
But….because you make her feel this, so happy and light and free, Momo is overwhelmed with gratitude and love that it kind of kicks itself in reverse. She has to be absolutely perfect for you.
And it can become a cycle. Not a great one, either. So please keep in check with each other and help balance yourselves out. Please. She just wants to make you the happiest person on earth which - in her view - is hard because you already do that for her.
Like I briefly touched on above and will even more so below, it’s Very Clear that Momo Yaoyorozu is in love. People who have known her for years have never seen her happier nor have her own colleagues ever seen her so…intense.
Because Momo has a very solid, very real reason to make it through missions waiting for her at home. She has a precious person to make the world a safer place for now. She was absolutely dedicated before but now? Now it’s personal.
PDA - Are they upfront about their relationship? Do they brag with their s/o in front of others? Or are they rather shy to kiss etc. when others are watching?
Given Momo’s upbringing, the answer to most of these is no. Definitely not. Not only is Momo shy about PDA but she was taught that doing so is disrespectful to people around you and even your significant other. Japanese etiquette only affirms this. The most you can expect from your girl is holding hands or linking arms while you walk around.
That doesn’t mean Momo stops touching you in public. In fact, sometimes it’s like she can’t keep her hands off you but her affection is expressed in small, subtle touches disguised as helpful gestures.
Tucking your hair behind your ear, straightening your collar, dabbing the corner of your mouth, brushing imaginary lint off your shoulder.
As for bragging…Momo doesn’t necessarily “brag” about you. But she does talk about you. A lot.
Out with a friend? “S/o said hi!” Doing paperwork? “S/o got me this pen.” Eating dinner with a colleague? “I should bring s/o here.”
Momo absolutely adores you. Even though she doesn’t go shouting this to the word, it shines in the little things.
The biggest giveaway? The way she looks at you with those bright, shining gray eyes.
Quirk - Some random ability they have that’s beneficial in a relationship. I just love this prompt for BNHA imagines.
Momo has a lot of secret talents that you’re always discovering at random. Her parents put a lot of thought and care into their only daughter’s upbringing, especially her education, and it shows. Your favorite so far?
Her dancing.
And it’s not like Ashido’s dancing or really many people your age. I am talking classical ballroom, mostly for the sake of those fancy banquets and soirees that the Yaoyorozus often attended. Momo knows how to elegantly through a ballroom as well as she does in the field.
But that’s not what you’re interested in. It’s the quiet, private part of your lives where’s it’s just the two of you in your home. No one else, no demanding tasks, no where to be. Just you and some lo-fi music.
Momo will gently take you in her arms and sway you around the room. And this is where you see her at her most relax, taking one of those skills hammered into her from a young age and just…letting go of all the rules. She makes it her own and just moves fluidly to the music, taking her with you.
Catch me when I swoon.
Romance - How romantic are they? What would they do to make their s/o happy? Cliché or rather creative?
Extremely romantic! Didn’t I tell you that she’s doting? And affectionate? And absolutely mesmerized by you?
And looord, does she know how to treat you.
As she grew up without want for any tangible object in the world, Momo is not a gift giver. Love, to her, is expressed in the time you spend with a person. This leads to fun weekend trips, surprise visits on lunch breaks, concerts, you name it.
Momo always finds a way of incorporating a little personal touch into the most cliché of clichés and making them entirely your own thing.
Support - Are they helping their s/o achieve their goals? Do they believe in them?
You have been nothing but supportive of her pro hero career - one that demands so much from Momo and by extension your relationship with her. And Momo is READY to support you in any way she can.
This girl legit researches and creates an entire long term plan on how you can achieve your goal, whatever it may be. School-related? Hello, Momo-sensei. Fitness goal? She goes to the gym and exercise with you, encouraging you the entire way. Artistic goal? Oh, what a coincidence. That random gallery owner happens to be a friend of her mother’s!
You maaaay have to pace her a little bit. She believes in you wholeheartedly but needs to be reminded that they’re your goals and you’re the one working towards them. Not necessarily you and your enthusiastic girlfriend.
Thrill - Do they need to try out new things to spice out your relationship? Or do they prefer a certain routine?
Momo has a high risk job where people’s very lives are at stake. For god’s sake, she was thrown headfirst into danger in her first two weeks of high school with USJ incident and it’s just been one thing after another ever since.
Give her a routine. Give her that calming domestic bliss.
Seriously. It’s crucial for your relationship and Momo’s own mental health that she has some sort of routine with you. Routine is comforting; routine provides a sense of security and safety. For that, Momo sets some serious boundaries between her personal life - with you specifically - and work.
You won’t be going on skydiving dates or anything with Momo. But you will wish each other good night every night, whether you’re in each other’s arms in bed or phone when she’s away or even just text if she’s on a stakeout. It’s these little, consistent things that make your relationships so strong.
Understanding - How well do they know their partner? Are they empathetic?
Part of the way Momo shows her love is learning you and everything about you. She’s spent hours dedicated to studying and now she studies you. It’s likely that she knows you better than you know yourself.
She knows everything about you: your favorite food, your hobbies, your goals, where you were born, who your best friend in high school was, everything.
She collects every piece of information about you, always listening and observing, and holds it close to her heart.
That said…and don’t hate me for this…but Momo isn’t the most empathetic person. Of course she’s kind and caring and an overall lovely person. But she is a person who follows things by steps, who uses logical thinking to predict people. Sometimes she gets so wrapped up in her line of thinking that she…misses out on the emotional side.
You’re probably the more empathetic person in this relationship, trusting your instincts and just letting yourself feel out situations while Momo tries to think her way through them. Both have their pros and cons, and it honestly teaches each of you a lot about each other.
Value - How important is the relationship to them? What is it’s worth in comparison to other things in their life?
Momo’s a busy woman. If she takes the time and energy to not only enter but maintain a relationship with you, you mean the absolute world to her.
And she reminds you of that every. single. day.
However…Momo is a selfless person. She gives a lot in the relationship and to you but to her, it’s not a necessity (close, though) but an indulgence. She sees herself as selfish for keeping you in her life, ever aware of the dangers of dating a high-ranking pro hero. She sometimes thinks of herself as selfish by staying with you, loving you, as she does.
Her worst fear is that you’ll suffer for her “selfishness” or be used against her in some way. Or worse still…that she’ll be forced into a situation where she’ll have to choose between you and her duty as a hero, between saving you or the public.
Even Momo doesn’t know which she would choose. She prays she’s never, ever put in the situation where she would have to make such a terrible choice.
Wild Card - A random Fluff Headcanon.
You know that one cool couple who is always hosting fun get-togethers with friends? Like, there are all of these monthly hang outs and yearly traditions that literally everyone in the squad looks forward to every year?
That’s you guys.
Momo LOVES playing hostess and you know how to have fun. Seriously, you’ve expanded Momo’s world beyond posh banquets and afternoon tea and she adores you for it. You host regular hot pots. Movie nights. Brunches. Beach days. White elephant parties. Every year there’s a cake baking competition with a golden whisk as the prize along with a full 365 days of bragging rights. (Bakugo, who didn’t even want to come, won it last year and will die before giving it up. Nobody cares who wins the golden whisk next year as long as it’s not that gremlin.)
Y’all know how to throw a party.
Probably of one the best things about this relationship is that you’re not in a “couple only” bubble. You cherish your other relationships, and it shows in how you often include others in your lives. :)
XOXO - Are they very affectionate? Do they love to kiss and cuddle?
Doting. Doting is the exact word that comes to mind when I think of Momo and affection. Almost immediately after meeting you, Momo was just so achingly fond of you and those feelings simmered for loooong while before the confession finally happened.
Now she just can’t help herself.
If she’s not playing with your hair, she kissing your fingers. If she’s not doing that, she’s hugging you. If it isn’t a hug, it’s a full on cuddle session where she kisses your face and holds your hand and murmurs sweet affections and -
Yeah. Momo restrains herself in public to subtle, sweet gestures but once your alone? She makes up for lost time.
Her favorite is leaving soft, delicate kisses on your temple after tucking your hair behind your ear and whispering how much she adores you.
Yearning - How will they cope when they’re missing their partner?
Momo keeps incredibly focused and on task at work. But as soon as it gets quiet and she’s alone…she yearns. She pines. She sighs. And she video chats you.
She does a very good job of staying in touch and communicating when you’re separated for any reason. Like I mentioned above, Momo always wishes you good night. And good morning. No matter what.
Please send Momo encouraging texts throughout her long, hard day. Please send her cute pictures. Please tell her love just because and tell her you can’t wait to see her again. It’s those little things that get her through missing you.
On a more angsty note…Momo worries about you. A lot. She has actual nightmares about something bad happening to you - being held hostage for ransom, a villain looking to get revenge against Creati, you getting caught up in a random public attack and her being unable to save you. These nightmares are at their worst when she’s away from you. The longer the separation, the more vivid and terrible they are. There have been times that she’s called you in the middle of the night just to hear your voice - the only thing that can calm her pounding heart and soothe her enough to go back to sleep.
So while she keeps in close constant because she does miss you a lot, Momo also does so to give herself some peace of mind. She needs to know you’re okay.
Zeal - Are they willing to go to great lengths for the relationship? If so, what kind of?
Y E S. Oh, my god, yes. Momo would do anything for you.
Sometimes, it honestly scares Momo how much she would do for you. She’s always been a dedicated person, a true perfectionist that approaches everything with well thought out strategy. She does things by steps. She’s the woman with a plan.
Then you came along and her whole universe imploded, forming a whole new one in the dust of her past and creating something new and unfamiliar and beautiful and terrifying.
So much so that even Momo doesn’t know her own limits anymore - not when it comes to you. She had lines before, boundaries, places she would not go. But with you? God only knows what she wouldn’t do for you.
Momo doesn’t like to linger too long on what kind of incredible, possibly terrible things she would do for you if pushed. But she promises herself that she’ll do everything in her power to keep it from coming to that.

Shower Thoughts (Nicky x Jaida) - Moonshot
A/N: Nicky and Jaida love wilding on IG live and I love them for it! So why not writing them as seniors in an high school AU setting? This is my first time writing Jaida so I hope I did her justice with this fic. I’m also working on the follow up for my other fic that will be out relatively soon as well. Enjoy the ride x - moonshot
Summary: Everyone at their school would argue that Jaida and Gigi, as the captains of the basketball and cheerleading team respectively, were destined to fall in love. However, the plump pair of lips on Jaida’s neck belonging to a particular French blonde cheerleader told a different story. Also, she was pretty sure Gigi was busy making out with the resident quirky art girl.
-
Everyone at their school would argue that Jaida and Gigi, as the captains of the basketball and cheerleading team respectively, were destined to fall in love.
The older girl often thought about it. While she couldn’t really disagree with that statement - she did love the bitch after all - the arm wrapped around her waist, and the plump pair of lips on her neck belonging to a particular French blonde told a different story. Also, she was pretty sure Gigi was busy making out with the resident quirky art girl.
The warm stream of water coming to the shower hugged their bodies, relaxing the tired bodies from hours of practice.
Jaida threw her head back, giving more access to the sore muscles of her neck and shoulders to Nicky’s mouth. The captain let out a groan as the lips reached a delicate spot.
“Someone is tense…” The French girl chuckled, wrapping both arms around the older girl’s waist and resting the side of her face on the smooth strong back.
“Girl, you tell me? Coach made us practice so many free shots that I feel my damn arms are gonna fall off” Jaida complained as she bathed in the relaxing spray of water.
“Aw, mon pauvre, pauvre chou,” Nicky placed a soft kiss on the nape of the dark-skinned girl.
“Why do you keep calling me cabbage? I googled that French shit up, you can’t fool me!” She replied with a fake offended tone, turning around to face the foreign girl.
“Well, if your ass kept looking at that google search, you’d seen that it also means my darling, salope! Didn’t you learn anything from our tutoring lessons, uh?” The blonde cheerleader teased, bringing her hands to rest lazily around Jaida’s neck.
“I don’t know, girl, our lessons always took an interesting turn. I might have not learned shit about French but I sure have learned how to please a French,” she talked back, not even trying to fight the smirk on her face.
“Fuck you!”
“I’m trying here, babe!”
They both laughed as they leaned in for a kiss, letting the water run in between their naked bodies. Nicky moaned as Jaida brought their bodies even closer together, their breasts rubbing against each other as the kiss got more intense. The French girl tangled her fingers in between the natural curly locks the brunette sported, arching her back as Jaida’s hands grabbed a handful of her behind. While she was trying to wrap her legs around the toned body, the basketball captain quickly spun them around, resulting in the younger girl hitting the shower wall rather gracelessly.
“Ouch, bitch!”
“Quit it, girl! I’m trying not to have your ass on the floor! You should thank me,”
“I’ll thank you when hell free-Ah!” The blonde couldn’t finish her sentence as Jaida playfully bit down right where her shoulder and neck met. The brunette felt Nicky’s fingernails dug on the skin of her back as she kept her mouth hovering over the tan skin. The cheerleader let out a sigh, tensing her muscles as Jaida’s hands started to roam over her slim physique, kneading the soft breasts. The dark-skinned beauty continued to alternate gentle bites and sucks all over Nicky’s neck.
“Don’t you dare leave a hickey on my neck,” she warned, her voice barely above a whisper over the loud sound of the shower. Jaida smirked, sucking harder as payback, Nicky gasped, “Bitch!”
“Chile, girl. You can always cover it up with some concealer later, and it’s not like you ain’t liking it when I leave marks on you, uh?” she replied in her ear.
“Touché, chéri, but you’re paying for my next bottle of concealer, and I want the Dior special edition one!” she whined, pouting.
“Who knew you’d be an expensive bitch to please?” Jaida joked but mentally reminding herself to check her usual go-to makeup store after class the next day.
“I only go for the best” Nicky replied, quirking an eyebrow to complete her smug look.
“And that’s why you went after the essence of beauty, uh, Frenchie?”
Nicky leaned in, whispering, “Precisely,” as she smiled, tasting once again the familiar grape-flavored chapstick she had grown to love.
They both got lost in the kiss, not noticing the door of the gymnasium’s shower room had been opened until a very familiar voice - especially to the blonde cheerleader - started singing.
“Tell me something girrrrrrrl~”
Both girls froze at the sound, visibly surprised to hear someone else. They were sure they were the last two students left, but the fact that Jan, the ball of sunshine of the glee club as well as the soccer team, had just proved them wrong.
Just as Nicky was about to say something, Jaida brought a finger over the blonde girl’s lips, gesturing her to stay quiet. The French girl furrowed her brows, mouthing a “What are you doing?”, to which the older girl just smiled, resuming her movements over the cheerleader’s body.
“Mérde,” Nicky breathed out, biting her lower lip to avoid being heard by the unaware blonde outside the shower cubicle.
The taller girl’s hands groped the round breasts, causing the French girl to hiss in pleasure.
“Hello? Everything alright?” Jan has interrupted her singing after hearing a weird sound coming from one of the showers.
Nicky could feel her heart race at the thought of being caught, and Jaida’s hand traveling down her toned stomach wasn’t really helping her.
“Uh, yeah, Jan, it’s just me, chéri. I just turned on the water and it was too hot!” The cheerleader spoke up, trying to distract the younger blonde enough to not have her realize what was going on.
“It ain’t the only thing that’s hot” Jaida whispered jokingly to herself as her hand reached the trimmed hair above Nicky’s core. She dipped her slender fingers down, letting the water run down over the soaked folds. Jaida couldn’t help but tease the younger girl, “keep talking to her so that she goes away and I can hear your pretty French ass scream for me, girl”.
“Oh, hi, Nicky! I just had to grab a jersey I forgot, do you want me to wait up for you? Jackie finished her Lacrosse practice so you can catch a ride with us,” the soccer player asked caringly, Nicky could make out that she was just outside the stall. She tried to focus to give an answer but Jaida’s talented digits were really distracting.
“Don’t leave her hanging, babe,” the basketball captain whispered, tasting the waters as she slipped a finger inside the tight opening, she could feel how tense the blonde girl was, “Chile, and she won’t find out”.
A shiver ran Nicky’s back as Jaida filled her up and softly kissed the tan skin of her neck. She nodded slightly, trying to keep her composure.
“Uhm, no, love, I’m going to be fine, I have a ride home already” she managed to let out as Jaida started to move her finger inside, her thumb lazily drawing circles over the blonde girl’s bundle of nerves, “Also, d-don’t worry, Coach left me the keys to lock up after I’m done so you can leave, ah!”
She quickly quieted as she accidentally let out a moan when the brunette added a second digit, stretching her core, “Putain”. How she wished she could wipe that smirk off of Jaida’s face right then and there.
“Did you say something?”
“Just that my muscles are so sore from all the practice, you know, with all the competitions coming up, we can’t catch a break” Nicky would have shot a nasty side-eye to the older girl if she wasn’t so goddamn good with her fingers.
“You tell me! I’m sure my legs will fall off by the end of the month” Jan laughed, seemingly not having any suspicions about what was happening behind the shower door thanks to the sound of the water jet, much to the cheerleader’s relief, “well, in that case, I’m gonna go and find Jackie. See you tomorrow in Maths class!”
The younger blonde didn’t wait for a reply as both girls in the shower heard the fast footsteps go towards the locker room door. They held their breaths as they made sure Jan wasn’t coming back after closing the door behind her.
Nicky let out a sigh of relief, before turning her attention to the brunette, “Bitch! We almost got caught, I’m going to gag you next time we have sex!”
“Wow, now we into that BDSM shit, uh?” Jaida commented back, unable to contain a laugh, earning a slap on the shoulder as a reply.
“Now, you finish what you started before I-” Jaida shut her up with a kiss, smiling in the kiss as she fastened her movements, arching her fingers just as she knew it would drive the blonde girl crazy.
Without anyone in the room with them now, Nicky moaned loudly, gripping tighter onto, feeling her legs growing weaker by the second.
“Ah, fuck, I’m close, k-keep going”.
Jaida didn’t need to be told twice as she latched her mouth to the sensitive pulse point on the younger girl’s neck, prompting a few other curse words in French by the latter.
The cheerleader felt the familiar sensation build up in her lower belly as her legs trembled, only standing up thanks to Jaida’s strong arms around her body.
“C’mon, babe, let it out. Be as loud as you want,” the brunette whispered in Nicky’s ear before biting the tender lobe.
The French girl came with a loud high pitched moan, her release running down her legs as it mixed with the running water washing off her body. Her legs completely gave out on her as she tightened her arms firmly around Jaida’s neck, kissing her passionately.
“That was hot” Nicky managed to say after recovering from her intense orgasm, “Mérde! I think I might be into this almost get caught shit, now!” she whined.
“Of course, you would girl”.
That was a moment of pause before they both erupted in a contagious laugh. Just as they were about to continue the discussion, the water suddenly turned cold. Nicky quickly shut it off, not wanting to get sick from the sudden temperature change, “I think that’s our cue to get the fuck out of here”
“Lead the way, girl,” Jaida said before Nicky took her hand, dragging her out of the steamy cubicle and trying to get all dressed up without too many kissing breaks.
About an hour later, Jaida pulled her car up on the familiar driveway of the rather fancy suburban apartment complex Nicky lived in. Her mother really went all out to provide a place to support the studies abroad of their firstborn daughter. The brunette really wished she could meet her soon.
The younger girl unfastened the seatbelt and was starting to collect her things when the dark-skinned beauty spoke up, “You know, girl, prom is coming up next month and I was doing some thinking, you know…”
Nicky had turned her full attention to her by that point, softly smiling at how nervous the usually chill captain was, “Yes?”
“I mean, I know we ain’t really official or any of that bullshit but I thought maybe we could go together, as, like, a couple, you know?” Jaida shrugged her shoulders, trying to brush off the nerves. They had been sneaking around for months at that point, she couldn’t understand why she suddenly felt so anxious to officially ask the blonde girl out.
“Are you asking me to prom?” The French girl asked to make sure she had heard right. She had to admit that they never really discussed the official label of their relationship, but she knew they both really liked each other.
“Bitch, you really want me to spell it out?” The older girl couldn’t even be mad as the smile on Nicky’s face made it very difficult.
“Yeah, mon chou, say it again or I might think you’re fucking with me” she chuckled, leaning forward with a smirk on her face.
“Girl, I just finished fucking with you an hour ago, I ain’t got time for that shit again,” she chuckled, “so, Nicolette Doll, will you go to-”
She couldn’t finish her sentence that Nicky sealed her lips with a kiss, bringing one of her hands on the nape of Jaida’s neck for support. They stood there, neither of them deepening the kiss, but rather keeping it soft and gentle.
Nicky was the first of the two to break the kiss, straightening her back as she interlaced her fingers with Jaida’s, holding her hand.
“I’d like that very much” the brunette could get lost in her piercing blue eyes, especially with the way they sparkled when Nicky smiled, “But now, we got a lot of shit to get ready. I’ve seen so many of your American movies about prom. We need dresses, a pre-prom plan, a post-prom plan… maybe we could go on a double date with Gigi and Crystal? Oh, wait! We could also invite Jan and Jackie? I definitely have to ask Gigi what they are wearing so that we can all match and…”
Jaida tuned out from the conversation, finding it adorable how Nicky was so excited about prom. While she wasn’t really sure all those teen movies the French girl had watched were an accurate depiction of school dances, she couldn’t wait to spend a fun night out with her girlfriend.
Girlfriend… yeah, she liked how that sounded. She was definitely going to call Nicky her girlfriend more often.
