Wish I had money to commission more art of this character. Don't even have a reference sheet for them yet. Haha.
Need me some avali-accurate art. What little art does exist of this character is all chibi.

anyway this is gonna be incomprehensible to basically everyone and it's also not finished (havent worked out specific ability values yet) and terrible to actually look at, but i did all my protags (including both hawkes). i worked stuff out for each level, but here are summaries at levels 10 and 20:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
having a LOT of fun recreating my warden and hawke using the ttrpg system
#da#personal#i wanna design a rogue. maybe ill do all the dao protags hmmm#ORRR wait. let me do my pets! that's always fun to think about#also some extra info: for the sake of game mechanics alim should become an arcane warrior first but shapeshifter makes sense lore-wise#im also not completely sold on marian being a spirit warrior. specialisations ARE optional so.. i could just invest in other talents instea#but of all the specs i think spirit warrior is probably most likely (after reaver ofc). i guess berserker is also possible tho#oh so the specs in the ttrpg are:#mage: arcane warrior; blood mage; force mage; keeper; necromancer; shapeshifter; spirit healer#rogue: assassin; bard; duelist; legionnaire scout; marksman; ranger; shadow#warrior: berserker; champion; chevalier; guardian; reaver; spirit warrior; templar#marksman is just some extra archery stuff and chevalier is lances and mounted combat#interesting that the only origins spec not to make it is battlemage. esp considering necromancer already kinda exists#like it's just a mixture of the walking bomb branch of the spirit school and the sleep branch of the entropy school#(but it's mostly spirit which makes me a little frustrated that it's considered entropy in the ttrpg)#(same with keeper being primal and spirit healer being creation; they should be creation and spirit respectively)#(keeper kinda makes sense as primal bc it's like the earth branch of primal. but i could write an essay on why earth should be creation)#(like. primal is a school of energy and creation is a school of matter. please.)#(although.. the spell wisp branch of creation should be spirit so it's not like creation is well-defined either lmao)#(spirit healer is spirit not just because of the name but because of the mechanics. you're summoning spirits. same as necromancy)#(creation healing physically heals the person; spirit healing summons spirits to do the healing. very different!!!!!)#(BUT i get that it would be a little unfair to have no specialisations in the primal and entropy schools so i'll forgive them for that)#gotta make that diagram of every spell in every game and how they're connected and how the schools fit together. it's coming one day...

My thoughts on Lucanis's story from Tevinter Nights. I'm also going to mention some spoilers that Bioware gave about him so under read more it is:
EDIT: I removed my previously frst point bc it turns out I haven't read another work about Lucanis so that was not valid anymore
First - while the story doesn't suggest it at all, I won't be surprised if Bioware decided that Lucanis got possessed by one of the demons he let loose. It woud be far from the first time they changed their own canon bc they decided to do that. Though I think it would make more sense if he got possessed at a later time. The story suggests that he had more victims to kill, one of which is a confirmed blood mage (tho I just assume all of them are), so I feel like the possession might've been due to someone deciding it would be fun to mess around with him like that if he slipped up and got caught and whatnot. So I'll be very interested to find out what he'll tell me about it when the game comes out.
Second - I feel like he and Emmrich would get along (and I hope they do). Lucanis says "You have your vengeance" to a bunch of possessed with demons people so to me that makes it clear that he at the very least has an understanding of spirits/demons' nature. He even (sort of) aids the demons/spirits in the story in their quest, which is to my understanding is what necromancers do in Nevarra. And ofc the fact that he is possessed - I feel like we'd have some interesting banter between him and Emmrich.
Third - I liked Lucanis's cousin so I wouldn't be opposed if we see him in the game. I wonder whether Bioware would progress the wolrd's story enough for him to actually be the leader of the Crows. It would also be funny if he flirts with Rook who's at the early stages of romancing Lucanis lmao
Fourth - Bioware confirmed that Lucanis is possessed but I don't think they've confirmed the type of demon/spirit he has. I know the popular theory is Pride bc of the purple colour and the many eyes and whatnot, but I don't feel like it fits Lucanis. I find it amusing that vengeance is the concept he vibes with and his cousin even has a line that goes "You're the vengeancy one." which in the context it was said doesn't have to mean much at all, but I wouldn't be opposed to his demon being vengeance.

How do the veilguard companions feel about your blood mage took
ty for asking :3 so i would say they're all generally friends since that's kind of just how the game goes and I never felt compelled to contradict that in my mind but how they feel about the blood magic definitely varies
for background, my idea for val as a blood mage comes from origins - when zev (in haven I believe) comes across a blood ritual and comments that the crows would do rituals like this. val came into her magic very early (I think around 5 or 6) and was basically trained the crows her entire life to do highly dangerous, extremely brutal blood magic to eviscerate high priority targets (part of why she was eventually brought into house arainai's contract against zevran and daera despite being from different those. tho that didn't work out for her either)
that being said, i think it feels pretty normal to lucanis, despite his general distaste for blood magic. she's a crow doing a job, one she is highly specialized and trained in doing and he wouldn't second guess her methods anymore than she would second guess his (not to mention it's actively useful to have someone experienced in working with demons help him manage spite)
i think about val and emmrich a lot.. i didn't bring him in the party as much bc they had pretty similar builds (and val is mage romancing another mage so composition was just fucked sometimes) but he think he had the biggest effect on how she sees her magic in the game. since dav's necromancy is very much like blood magic, but I think working with emmrich made val start thinking of herself as a necromancer, and leaning into a magic and fighting style that was much more like the mourn watch than the crows (real thing that happened in game as I stopped using knife and orb as I leaned into the death caller build lmao). the idea of working with spirits and death as something positive and beneficial as opposed to just being another weapon for her contract holder was very comforting I think. since their rooms are next to each other I like to imagine val comes over to emmrich's a lot to poke and dead bodies and argue about if necromancy and blood magic are the same thing
neve is... complicated. she certainly doesn't LIKE that val is a blood mage, but i'd imagine that as a tevinter mage, neve probably has a slightly different definition of blood magic than a lot of other characters (based on what dorian says in inq). so the way val conducts herself in battle bothers her a lot less than val being highly defensive of working with demons, blood rituals, etc. buuut val has also distanced herself from those things since not working directly for the crows anymore and no longer having a direct contractual obligation to put herself in these very dangerous and bloody situations (also she knows neve hates it so she doesn't bring it up).
i also think neve also has some leeway for val bc she understands that like... val was a slave. she was literally bought by the crows as a child and raised to do exactly this as her purpose in life. it's a story neve has seen again and again in tevinter, even if for most of val's story she'll adamantly argue that her situation is different. so, it's messy but I think at least for now neve isn't ready to die on that hill
this post is so long now so I'll speedrun through the others. i don't think davrin is crazy about him but he and val get along so well for their shared pragmatism + the gray wardens have such an "ends justify the means" approach to blood magic I think that at least in the course fo the game he's like "fair enough!" I think taash hates it but also actively avoids thinking about it when it comes up bc it weirds them out. harding and bellara are similar though I actually feel like I can see the two of them earnestly trying to convince val to stop. it does not work but its nice that they tried anyway

Can I get a list of all ur ocs?
Well anon youve done it, you made me make a list of all my major OCS in one place. I hope your happy with yourself. Under the cut for obvious reasons, may link in my blog desc later.
Modern/BTD verse!!
Jilly- Ferret beastkin little creature, was recently turned into a werewolf by vincent as well so she's running around on full moons in a wereferret wolf hybrid creature form. Chaotic and friendly and wants to be everyone's bestie. She has the most energy in the world and is very kind hearted. Banned from most Claires for stealing and from one Home Depot for climbing the shelves. Prone to living life with rose colored glasses on and seeing the best in everything/everything even when there's nothing there. Socialization is a must for her and is why being basemented/kidnapped broke her psych so quickly and developed severe stockholm. Sometimes overly talkative/enthusiastic and can scare people off. Even if she sees someone shes decided shes friends with be noticeably 'evil', will convince herself it must be for some reason/her fault and ignore it.
Ciggy- Undead punk still learning to harness his powers to interact with the world as a ghost. Was sacrificed by a cult he joined for free concert tickets and to get laid. Likes to cause problems on purpose both pre and prior death and he's not above possessing someone once he learns how to. Was called Rooster in high school before he dropped out because he's loud, obnoxious and always screaming. And also has bright red dyed hair. Looking 4 ways to become less ghosty bcs he wants to be able to help raise his infant daughter, whom he died before he could meet. Bit annoying and in your face, likes poking at bruises, his or others. Kind of a sad heart seeking attention through volume and persistence.
Mike: Vampire loser! Sells drugs and lives at raves. Was turned when she was attacked by a coked out vampire (whom she supplied the product to) and has major scarring on her face and chest. Needs a somewhat constant influx of blood so shell sometimes take victims back to her place and chain them up, slowly draining them over time. Feels bad (ish) about it tho so it is possible to survive her if you are nice and or interesting enough. Kind of desperate for a friend and for love. Is a stalker. If she likes you enough/finds you interesting, she might just appear in your house one night and start rummaging through your fridge like nothing is wrong and youve been besties for years. Its best to indulge her and be friendly, otherwise she could turn violent quickly if her feelings are hurt.
Kilaine- Regular human woman, but fucked up. Born and raised by an elite waspy society she had an interest in the human body and pain tolerance since she was young. Quickly learned that these traits were socially unacceptable in most professions, so she became a doctor. The only family she cared about was her younger sister who she lost in a car accident, where they were flipped over and trapped inside while it was afire. While her sister burned up in front of her Kilaine only lost her left arm and had major burns on her body. This tipped her descent into sadism and she is now madly obsessed with bringing her sister back no matter the cost. Rude and offstandish, clinical.
Dragon age verse!
Thurwen- My main Hero of Ferelden with a bad temper and a heart of gold. City elf from the Denerim Alienage, 18 at the start of origins. She's a reaver warrior with a lot of pent up rage which sometimes scares others when she lets it out in battle. Over the years she's grown less moody as she's had to take the role of Commander. Crude sense of humor and violent impulses, very sensitive to the plights of others and tries often to help. Never seen crying in public but only cries to herself at night- major martyr and hanged man complex.
Caz- My circle mage elf inquisitor who was an apostate before the conclave. Blood magic, but make it sneaky. Wary of strangers and new faces, always dealing with the impulse to flee/find a high vantage point. Endless curiosity about the unknown/ the forbidden/ naughty, was supposed to be made tranquil for it but she escaped. Kind of a little creature as well, lived on her own for a while as an apostate in the woods, filed her teeth down to sharp ends to make herself look more intimidating (shes 5 ft tall) and less cute (her elf ears are huge and expressive, which shes embarrassed about)
Dag and Thagna- Carta twins! Professional lyrium smugglers since birth pretty much. Raised casteless in dust town and had to work their way up the chain of command by themselves. Dag is the brother, Thagna the sister. Their father traded them to the carta for drinking money and their mom died in childbirth so they have somewhat of a codependent relationship. Both charismatic and calculating, friendly and agreeable but won't hesitate to put a dagger in your back. Hard to pin down morally or physically, squirrelly bastards.
Reila: Dalish elf who works for the inquisition/ is the inquisitor in some aus. She has an extreme fixation on elvhen history and rebuilding what they have lost. Not a people person, prefers solitude. Takes some time to warm up to shemhlen as she has a hard history with them. Good friends with Caz, who recruited her in the first place. Doesn't understand very many social cues and finds societal expectations limiting and frustrating. Fondness for halla and hooved animals, which she finds graceful.
Elder scrolls verse!
Valkya: Near seven foot nord woman whos over a thousand years old by the events of skyrim. Tall and buff, two handed warrior and compulsive hero there to bask in the spotlight save the day. She was killed at the start of the events of Elder scrolls online and had her soul ripped out and sent to coldharbor and she's just been a pain in the ass about it since then. Her body can physically die and will not regrow pieces. Her soul however will escape and teleport to the nearest source of power where her body will regrow from an aetherial plasm until its whole again. Loud and brash, friendly and jovial. Actually pretty keen especially after centuries of life but prefers to play dumb as it makes people underestimate her. Plus, she really does enjoy mud wrestling and drinking contests and acting generally like a rambunctious frat boy. Ha developed a bit of a substance problem and a problem with acting out, as after being alive so long she would turn to anything to dull the ache inside of her that never goes away.
Espira- My Dragonborn! Redguard from Hammerfell who was briefly in the Ash’abah due to killing undead while protecting her parents water farm as a child. Ran away from them after years and went to Cyrodille, then to Skyrim and was caught crossing the border. Reserved, kind and soft spoken, she's a sword and shield warrior who's committed herself to doing good in the world by helping others. Dislikes killing and anything messy but believes it is often necessary in order to protect the weak. She blacksmiths often to save money on the upkeep of her own equipment, and takes up metal jewelry working as a hobby with the excess material. Prone to trusting others too much and giving too many second chances, as shes always looking for ways to make even the most hardened criminal a second look at life.
Riley- Espiras little brother who she locked in the wardrobe during the event of the water farm attack. In preventing him from doing violence against the undead she kept him from being conscripted into the Ash’abah. He's way more chaotic than his sister, and suffers from a case of little sibling syndrome in which he will often pester/poke at people just to get a rise out of them. Still kind hearted as his sister, he tries to hide it because he believes that the world is a cruel place and the cruel survive. Despite that belief he is often still unable to force himself to be cruel/careless, only making a show of it so that others leave him alone and don't see that he's very sensitive and emotional. Deaf in one ear due to a magic mishap in his youth, he trained and enchanted his most beloved rats to live for years and sit on his shoulder, alerting him to noises he would not otherwise notice.
Felria: Evil vamp :/ chaotic evil dunmer necromancer. Small and devilish and likes dead bodies too much. Manipulative and cunning, she loves acting. She's a trained assassin for the dark brotherhood and is the speaker. Likes dressing up for missions and wearing disguises like its all a play. Loves toying with people more than she loves killing them, will act in ways that cause as much trauma as possible for other people just for fun and she finds the reactions interesting. Considers herself too far removed from most people's perception of morality and of her so it's hard for her to trust someone or see them as worthy of knowing her. Finds the psychology of grief and fear to be interesting and wants to study them first hand. The hero of kvatch.
Herren: Fifty something year old rat woman looking for something to keep her going. Ran away from her wealthy family in her youth when they wanted her to take charge of the household, instead became an infamous jewel thief and swashbuckler. Spent most of her life traveling and stealing and double dealing. She's smarmy and sarcastic, a serial romancer of the highest caliber. Bit of a show off and a hedonist, always looking for the next good party or new product to snort. Her family died off due to the hard times she wasn't there for and she keeps looking for bigger and bigger heists to fill her appetite as she's chronically bored and lonely, though wont accept intimacy and will scoff at it out of the belief she doesn't deserve it. Irresponsible and selfish, lonely and terrified of any sort of commitment. Fun to party with though!

Gimme that oc babble! If anythin tag it as aomething unique so tht people who don't wanna see it cn block the tag. People who don't wanna see it won't complain and people who do wanna see it get to interact on the posts. Win win.
i’ll tag the posts as “da babble”! these ocs are my dragon age ocs and ive had them for like 5 years 🥺🥺
for those who dont know, dragon age is a video game series w/ 3 games so far, and the protagonists are characters you can create, and theres 4 characters i created that i got really attached to and i made like a whole storyline for them throughout the series
my old art is really bad so i’ll just show the recent-ish art even tho theyre like 2 years old. anyways.
also im just gonna babble under the cut...
heres my two characters i created for the first game!
Tumblr media
(also.... cains name has been cain for 5 years, i named myself cain last year but it has no relation to my oc KJDFGS)
these two are twin brothers! also noir was created bc i looked at my black colored pencil, saw ‘noir’ and thought th word was cool sounding, and i thought itd be cool if i created an albino character and named him the french word for black. LMAO
noir is a healer mage, and cain is a blood mage... and blood magic is really “””evil”” but cain always used it for good (ALSO. ALSO, SOMEONE DREW HIM FOR ME A WHILE AGO!!! warning for blood!!)
also in origins, you can have the character you created sacrifice themself to save the world from a big bad demon, and thats what i had noir do. and cain got all emo abt it to put it simply
also in the games, you can romance characters, noir romanced morrigan (a witchy lady), and cain romanced zevran (an assassin elf that was sent to kill him but failed and those two ended up falling in love)
also this is dragon age inquistion related. but. theres a main quest where you’ll have to choose between a warden or hawke to sacrifice their life to a demon spider thing. and the warden i had in my game was alistair, and alistair is the first companion you get in origins! and my warden noir and alistair were like besties and noir sacrificed himself to the demon to save the world... alistair sacrificed himself 10 years later to a demon to help save the world... 😏
also for dragon age 2, i used the default hawke bc i really like him so i’ll skip him (i romanced fenris with him)
and in dragon age inquistion, i have 2 ocs from it!
Tumblr media
they’re also twin brothers. emile is an assassin, and levi is a water mage.
emile is the inquisitor, and levi followed him along everywhere bc he didnt wanna abandon his brother. in the games, they both romanced dorian, the necromancer tevinter dude, but im gonna have to rework my story for them outside of the game. bc god, i was looking at my old posts abt levi and his personality was so cringy, so im gonna rework his personality too and stuffs, but he was one of my top fav ocs, i drew him so much...
like this art is 3 years old but i still kinda like it...
Tumblr media
one of these days after i finish replaying all the dragon age games, im gonna like... rewrite all their personalities and stuff and hopefully make them seem less... like an edgy teenager wrote them... lmao jgJGKDFS bc i really do want them to be like genuine characters, i dont wanna let go of them...

Some simple notes on a few of my OCs...
Tumblr media
Raveoov Thramfaere
Altmer noble on the mainland of the Summerset Isle
High ranking Mephala cultist, Deathweaver
Actually the son of Mannimarco by blood
Necromancer by choice, but not a lich by choice
By the late 3rd Era, has dyed hair dark purple
Was Trechire's first boyfriend, for a very long period of time
Didn't mention to her in all that time who he was and what he practiced- the necromancy, not the sexy murder times. That she knew.
That led to the break up, which kindles the fire for Raveoov to promise his father an easy way to bag and drag her for sacrifice.
By the late 3rd Era, their feud isn't even over the break up anymore, but over the various horrible shit they did to each other in the aftermath.
Eventually settled down with a nice Bosmer girl, and is a content lich demigod father to five.
Tumblr media
Trechire Galerion
Is a devoted lycan and worshiper of Hircine.
That of course is a secret, especially from her father and mother, Vanus Galerion and Caafire Salaelinwatch.
Champion of Vivec, Savior of the Clockwork City, Savior of Summerset, the Vestige- if it went whack in the 2and Era, she was the one that fixed it.
Was with Raveoov, then Tanval Indoril, was with Laloriaran and would have married had he lived, later married Abnur Tharn but then island went boom, didn't take any more romantic relationships after that until the late 3rd Era.
Then she met Eliindil, and they married- he later became Sheogorath, and she refused to loose another husband or to abandon him, so they remain married.
So yes, she is currently married to Sheogorath.
Has four sons: Sunnabela from Laloriaran, Rinyu from Abnur, Hirchire from Barbas, and Kirr from Sheogorath.
For over 1000 years, waited patiently to be able to be reunited with her first born, who was swiped away by the Order of the Worm through time via manipulation of an Elder Scroll.
She is cursed, made immortal by Clavicus Vile who found her misery at Laloriaran's death extremely funny, and told her she'd never be reunited with anyone she had ever loved who had passed and would forever watch loved ones come and go.
Assisted the Hero of Kvatch in stopping the Oblivon Crisis.
Tumblr media
Setheso Raamando
Nerevarine, who has the voice of Nerevar within their head acting as a second opinion and voice of reason.
Goes by "they/them", though if asked what gender they will initially say female.
To the point, a brick wall, and intimidating as all hell.
Daughter of Aithilo Raamando, who was the son of Sotha Sil and basically Lorkhan by default.
He wasn't a good dad, with Lorkhan slowly overtaking his mind and trying to posses a new vessel to take back his heart, so Setheso and him dont have a good relationship.
They are trying to figure each other out tho in the 4th Era, as Aithilo is much better after finally kicking Lorkhan's ass with much needed help.
In their younger years, they used bound battle axe and various destruction spells to defeat Dagoth Ur and travel Vvardenfell. But eventually they preferred a real daedric battleaxe and modified it to also act as a staff.
Was in a happy relationship with Jiub before the Oblivion Crisis.
Assisted the Hero of Kvatch in stopping the Oblivion Crisis.
Tumblr media
Codek Rinyu Galerion Tharn
During the Septim Dynasty, only went by "Codek Tharn"
After Jagar Tharn's shame, goes by "Rinyu"
Never really used "Galerion" unless he was back in Artaeum
Is actually an altmer-imperial mix, but is a highly skilled illusion and alteration sorcerer, and so can change his race if desired.
Of course that has its limitations and side effects, but he's pretty comfy with it.
During his time as High Chancellor under Tiber Septim, he was Imperial.
After Jagar, he reverted back to his altmer self for a while to drink away his depression.
He was a vampire by that point, so "drink" means something entirely different from being a drunk at the local pub.
In the late 3rd Era, was approached by Lucien Lachance and found purpose in the Dark Brotherhood.
He took on a khajiit form, and has remained in such to this day.
Is an ace- he still craves a romantic connection and likes cuddles, but everything else is just an activity to him that could be replaced with playing cards or chess. He'll only engage to make his partner happy.
Was married to a lovely Imperial battlemage during the Tiber years, later was romantically involved with Lucien, and currently is married to a brilliant dunmer alteration mage.
Of course he had children with his first wife, and from their descendants came Jagar.
Jagar is a very personal and touchy subject. It's highly advised to never mention him around Rinyu.
Was heavily conditioned into the typical Tharn personality during the Tiber years, but underneath that tough skin is the sweet and sunshine core of a Galerion.
Currently is the Listener for the Dark Brotherhood and Lord of Castle Volkihar.
Of course keeps in touch with his mother and brothers, always offering aid if need be.

oddly enough, playing da2 really makes me wish that da:i addressed dorian being a necromancer and how similar some of the spells are to blood magic spells to a certain extent. Especially considering how necromancy can be mistaken for blood magic aka something dorian stays away from on principle due to its association with  magisters and tevinter mages. hawke fought a lot of blood mages throughout the entire game, and there is this one blood mage that basically does necromancy aka resurrecting corpses buried in the ground. it’s definitely not something dorian would do tho, he doesnt make spirits possess corpses, he simply commands some to take on the forms of fallen enemies, other than with death syphon he can heal himself when something or someone dies around him in battle, that’s the closest thing he does that’s even related to necromancy, but part of what he does or can do is still related to manipulating life force aka something blood magic is known for, he must feel the temptation of blood magic the most. His biggest fear is temptation, after all! if dorian uses his own blood to amplify his power, i can totally see him being able to thin the veil enough to draw spirits into corpses and reanimating them like a proper necromancer. Considering that he is a mage that utilizes his magic in a way that can potentially make him vulnerable to temptation of blood magic--something that symbolizes the corruption he hated so much in tevinter, i feel like his specialization as a mage is almost vital to his characterization.
like, i think there are three elements that’s vital to him as a character: 1. the legacy of being born into a noble tevinter mage family and what that means to his desire to see a better tevinter 2. the temptation of power in all forms: social, political and magical and 3 aka the only element that’s been explored in the game: the yearning for genuine love and affection tevinter culture denied him due to the fact that he’s a gay man. These three elements are all entangle with each other:  blood magic relates to temptation of power he must have felt and is definitely afraid of, temptation of power relates to the corruption festering among the his tevinter mage peers that he hate so much, and lastily, his status as a tevinter mage is the reason why he had little hope of finding true love as he is expected to marry and produce children, aka something he wouldn’t willingly do as he is not attracted to women. they are all related but only the last aspect of what defines his character gets somewhat explored. His quests and arc really should have focused on him talking about and re-considering what needs to be changed in tevinter throughout the events of inquisition, with a focus on the legacy of his countrymen. but since da:i is the one game that doesn’t properly develop a lot of its companion/characters, ofc we dont get the good shit
#if you dont get his romance quest you basically just get a cut scene where u get informed hes gay and thats it#which is shitty as fuck considering the potential this character has and only one small aspect of him is talked abt smh#its like a 3 min cut scene too. smh! now that i think abt it im kinda angry lol#they can talk abt the fact that hes gay and still explore important aspect of his character since its all kinda related in my opinion#but no i guess! i guess only boring straight fuckers like blackwall and solas deserve good arcs lol#for a character that the player would have encounter either way and whose status and background makes him very relevant to the plot#hes quite pushed to the side lol#some random motherfucker like blackwall really should not take that much space in the game lol hes not even a REAL grey warden#yolanda talks#exploration of mage's relationship with magic/spirits always make the most intriguing arcs in dragon age games#it sucks that they didnt have a similar arc for dorian#merrill's arc is the most well done. in my opinion. which is part of the reason why i like her so much#after playing da2 i actually love having some combat in these companion quests#it helps to make the ensuing cut scenes feel rewarding and the story makes more of an emotional impact#in the fade. the fear demon tries to taunt dorian by comparing him to his father. implying dorian is afraid of being his father#and that taunt just doesnt make any impact since dorian is nothing like his father. it makes no sense that the demon would taunt him abt it#if his father. say. allied with some venatori in order to try to bring dorian home and has turned to blood magic#halward pavus has hired henchmen and mercenary to kidnap dorian before and he was def going to use blood magic on dorian#it'd make sense. and say he did the same thing again. maybe the first combat consists of them fighting a bunch of ppl#including a servant that he mind controlled using blood magic and lets say the inquisitor can decide to spare the guy or not#which results in approval change from dorian. then they proceed to the next area and fight dorian's father and THEN#maybe we get to decide whether we'd kill his father or not (hes gonna die in trespasser anyways so why not)#the cut scene b/w dorian and his father happens and we know what we need to know from the game#except that dorian's sexuality would be addressed but not the focus of the cut scene#that would have been great. dorian feeling shaken to the core that his own father who values integrity and principle could be corrupted#and fearing that he could become someone like his father. which is v relevant to his arc and to the plot since u fought venatori#but no. again we get 3 minutes of shitty cut scene. smh. and we dont even get to fight his piece of shit homophobic father

Is there a page or something in which you got inspired to choose the different kinds of Magic? I mean, I don't know what a poison witch could do, or death, earth, time... The limits in this powers
I just wrote down anything that came to my mind (:
I´ll try to explain everything real quick (: Also which ones are dangerous and are forbidden to practice without education. Every magic has their “ultimate spells”. Things that only a master of this magic can do after years of training.Fire: Being able to controle fire. Means creating fire, shuting it down, shooting sparks and stuff like that. An unltimate spell might be something like a giant flame wave which destroys anything, as big as a whole city.Fire counts to the dangerous powers and only allowed to be practiced after proper education
Earth: The same with earth. Controling mud, sand, dirt… Being able to create mooving earth figures which stay alive would be the ultimate spell, also letting whole cities sink in the ground is an ultimate spell (this one is possible in a less impressive way tho much earlier… like letting someones feet sink in)
Wind: The same with wind. Controlling the air, calling storms, letting things flow…One thing that makes wind a very nice power is - if your magic soulmate is a bird-creature. With their abilities and the wind magic combines the witch/warlock can learn how to FLY!!! How cool is that?
Plants: Growing plants, talking with them, knowing what they feel, also very cool: Being able to “see” what they´ve seen and heard in their entire lifetime. Making plants alive and creating “plant humans” is a ultimate spell.
Water, Ice, Steel, Stone: Controling the element, creating something with the element… you know how this works. Most elements work the same and the ulstimate is mostly something like “creating a human being out of it”. Thatý why these are “common” powers. They technically work the same. Stone works a bit like Plants too and Steel like Earth.
Lightning: Creating lightnings and transporting energy through you. Also being able to charge phones with your hands. The ultimate spell is to be able to teleport through the lightnings.Lighting counts to the dangerous powers and only allowed to be practiced after proper education
Sound: Creating noises and sounds of your choice, in the volume of your choice. Immitating various voices, making people hear stuff, talking to people without the need of real talking or being near them. Also being able to silence someone. Using some “sirene” spell that can convince people easily. Being the perfect person for an interrogation and so on.
Light: Creating light, turning light into a “form” (glowing balls for example) and placing them somewhere. Making yourself glow, generally making things glow or creating glowing forms/creatures. The ultimate spell is to materialise light and being able to attack someone with it. Light usually can´t hurt a body pysically, but this spell would make it work.
Shadow: Creating shadow fog to make stuff dark (it absorbs the light), being able to “go into the shadows” and travel trough them. (like there is a shadow on the wall here, I go in it and then can come out somewhere else in the house where another shadow is) Same ultimate as light: Making the shadows “pysical” so they can attack someone. As well as creating shadow people.
Blood (this one is FORBIDDEN means there are no teachers who can teach you, you have no possibility to learn it properly, that´s why becoming a master blood mage is impossible): Using your own blood, or others blood to get stronger. Controling blood, making it flow different and killing someone trough it. Weak souls will die immediatly OR become willingless creatures who follow the mage.BUT blood magic can also heal others and make others stronger.
Spirit: Reading minds, reading souls, feeling what others are feeling, controling their mind, leading their mind. Basicly being able to let others feel things or changing their minds to your likings. Also being able to letting people halluzinate. Turning them crazy is also possible. An ultimate spell is to steal someones/things soul and collect them and use them as an energy resurce.Spirit counts to the dangerous powers and only allowed to be practiced after proper education
Time: Manupulating time, travel trough time and being able to see the future. Maybe through visions. Making the time stop, making it go faster. A time mage WOULD be able to recreate the time and create alternative realities. An ultimate power would be creating a time loop.Time counts to the dangerous powers and only allowed to be practiced after proper education.
Poison: This is the ONLY alchemy power. And still it has nothing to do with mixing potions and stuff. You don´t need ingredients, you can simply make everything poisonous just by thinking about it. This is the least popular power. This doesn´t mean the least amount of people have it, it means the least amount of people want to have it. Because there is nothing good, you can do with it. People only train it, so no accidents happen.Poison counts to the dangerous powers and only allowed to be practiced after proper education.Illusions: Creating stuff that isn´t really there. Simply as it sounds. The better you get, the bigger illusions can be created and the more people will be able to see them. This is all about the visual effect. No ultimate power, no specials. Just being able to create things, that are illusions. Not dangerous at all,  except you create stuff that scares people.
Realitly: Everyone sees and feels the world a different way. This power can change it. For example if you see something as blue, the mage can make you forget the color blue. They can delete the color from your reality. Of course, it´s forbidden to erase important stuff from peoples reality. Most mages use it to make their own reality better. For example making unicorns real for them. This power is limited to the person the mage is working with - you can´t change everyones reality at the same time. THAT would be the ultimate power. The ulimate is to change one single thing in the ENTIRE reality. For example erasing moskitos. But using this specific spell and generally changing someones reality without permission counts as a crime.Reality counts to the dangerous powers and only allowed to be practiced after proper education.
Life: Turning magic energy into life energy, healing someone, making someone stronger, giving back life to someone or even turning things alive. This magic is based on the ages energy. You can only give as much life as much energy you have. So you can always do revivals with creatures that are smaller than you and have less energy, but never with more. Since you use your own energy for it.
Death: Talking to the dead, calling the dead, making them do what you want. A bit like a necromancer. Also Getting their memories, using their knowledge and creating un-dead. A death mage can visit the underworld and talk to demons. But they´ll be never able to make a contract. That´s the price.Death counts to the dangerous powers and only allowed to be practiced after proper education.
Ultimate spells for life and dead: Both can collect “unwanted” or “unused” souls and carry them as long as needed without ever using them. These mages can even trade them. Important: Life can always take life and create death. But death will never be able to create life.

i’m going to make a vampire: the masquerade!au for the bartimaeus and you CANNOT STOP ME
ok so this is dumb
if u r not familiar with v:tm or the world of darkness im sorry for u now go and read that rulebook(s) or u could, like, stay and try to make sense of what im writing. your call.
bartimaeus is a gangrel, vampires with the power of shapeshifting and meld with the earth. he’s probably kinda ancient - not as ancient as he is in canon tho bc vampires that are That Old are usually Assholes(TM). he absolutely hates the tremere, and probably the giovanni too. gargoyles are ok tho.
ptolemy is one of the salubri, the children of saulot, maybe the only vampire ever existed that wasnt a total asshole. he, kinda obviously, died horribly, and his clan fell out of grace. the salubri have a third eye, and there are three kind of them: the healers, the warriors and the watchers. ptolemy is one of the healers, embraced when he was still young and kind, and helped bartimaeus a lot. when he disappeared, after the diablerie of saulot, bart was absolutely devastated.
asmira is an assamite, and that was kinda obvious. judges, assassins, sorcerers and they come from middle east. she fitted very well into the archetype.
faquarl... i’d say he’s either a tzimisce or a lasombra. both are royal, and both have history with... weird-shaped things. i like tzimisce bc fleshcrafting is cool and also absolutely fucking disgusting, but i tend towards lasombra bc living shadows!!! oh and they can also make weird ass tentacular arms made of shadows. so yeah. id say lasombra.
jabor is either a brujah (passionate and ready to FIGHT) or a gangrel (jackal head). i like brujah!jabor a lot more than gangrel!jabor tho.
kitty is a brujah, hands down. as i said earlier, they are passionate, ready to fuck shit up and hate authority. tell me they don’t scream “kathleen jones”.
nathaniel is... complicated. i like him as a ventrue (royal, arrogant and usually competent), as a tremere (magicians, arrogant, literally one of the youngest vapire clans, phyramidal gerarchy) and as a giovanni (necromancers, italians, arrogant and rich, probably dedicated to incest and necrophilia, literally destroyed an entire clan). i’ll go with the tremere bc hey, blood magic! and also the founder was a literal mage but then he had the great idea of drinking vampiric blood.
my poor baby jakob is a nosferatu, bc they are ugky as fuck, super strong, have the power of invisibility (more or less) and they usually know everything about everyone. if im feeling particularly evil, tho, he’s a samedi, an haitian bloodline of vampires that are, quite literally, walking corpses made out of rotting flesh. they’re even uglier than the nosferatu!
jane is a gangrel, bc WEREWOLVES!
solomon is probably a tremere. either that or a cappadocian (the clan that gave unlife to the giovanni and was consequentially destroyed by them. they were, also, kinda obsessed with death for some reason).
uraziel is a true brujah bc HELL YEAH TIME MAGIC! tbh tho he also sounds very calm and collected and the true brujah are like that
khaba is a child of seth, evil fucks that hate sunlight even more than most vampires, which clan’s discipline, serpentis, gives them snakes’ characteristic, like... a very long tongue. and hypnotic eyes.
and obviously ammet is a lasombra.
rupert devereaux is a toreador. “beautiful and also really unreliable”, they are obsessed with all kinds of art. it’s like an obsession for them.
queezle is... uh, really a problem? idk where to put her. maybe she’s just a caitiff, one of the clanless. maybe a gargoyle? they have a great sense of community, can fly and have some kind of earth magic called visceratika and i really love them.
verroq is absolutely an assamite. he’s an assassin, for crying out loud!
rebecca piper, poor thing, is probably a gargoyle that works for nathaniel. she doesn’t mind it, tho, and nathaniel is much kinder than the majority of the warlocks.
rosanna lutyens? she’s a tough one. probably a toreador, bc art.
idk maybe i forgot someone? if u have any questions just ask me!

Rachael’s Favorite FE Characters
Well, since I posted my favorite Pokemon... everything a while ago, I figured I’d post my favorite FE characters class-by-class as well! I’ll also post my least favorites.
The games I own are Sacred Stones, Path of Radiance, Radiant Dawn, Shadow Dragon, New Mystery on an emulator, Awakening, Heroes, all 3 Fates & Echoes. I’ve played a bit of FE4 too but I’m not far enough into it to pick favorite characters.
Favorite Lord:
Male- Chrom (He’s pretty vanilla but I still love me my Blueberry Dorklord)
Female- Erika (Who is not NEARLY as foolish as recent entries would have you believe. She’s quite a bit better than Celica at any rate- there’s no way she’d fall for fkn JEDAH)
Least Favorite- Ephraim (He’s such a... warmonger. There is no point in the entirety of SS where I go “Yes, he’ll make a good king!”)
Favorite Avatar
Robin! Robins the best. Robin has the best coat. Do I need to say more?
Well, I guess I’ll say too that Robin’s personality is quite a bit like my own, which is why I prefer Fem!Robin. I too, would relentlessly pelt Lon’qu with figs and, when faced with unwinnable odds would, just resort to a Big Fire™
Least favorite goes to... IDK, I want to say Kiran but Kiran can marry Navarre so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Favorite Cavalier/Paladin/Great Knight
Seth wins, but Xander and Berkut are close seconds. Seth/Erika is my ultimate FE OTP- they’re the only ones in the whole series I can’t even bear to pair with anyone else for a playthrough to get their supports. I like Xander/Corrin and Xander/Sakura quite a bit, but neither come anywhere close honestly. And Berkut is my angry garbage son~
Least favorite goes to Jagan. You honestly think I’m going to kill Frey who arguably has better stat growths than both Cain and Abel and keep you? Screw canon, off you go, old man!
Favorite Myrmidon/Swordsmaster/Trueblade
Joushua, obviously!
...
I mean, Navarre doesn’t really count because he’s my favorite FE character PERIOD. Besides Navarre, I like Joshua.
Least favorite is Marissa. Not that crazy about Mia either, but Marissa is just so inferior to Josh stats wise and while he’s tons of fun, she’s no fun at all. If she were in another game it’d different but Joshua makes her look really bad in comparison. Plus she took his spot in Awakening AND I’M STILL SALTY 4 YEARS LATER
Favorite Mercenary/Hero/Dreadfighter
Navarre in FE1
Ike!... Yes, I’m counting him here... Oh fine, Ogma then. They’re both big gay softies that are 40% pure iron muscle and 60% heart. I bet they give the best hugs!
(And no, I don’t believe Ogma’s “feelings” for Caeda are in any way romantic bc he met her when she was like 5 and he was probably 20. He probably feels like her big brother or father- which is equally impossible for him to express due to his lot in life. Plus, Marth never gets jealous around him, while he practically turns green around any of the other characters interested in her.)
(Oh, and I consider Soren to be the more canon partner for Ike over Sothe and Ranulf bc Priam is a thing and I’m like 70% sure Soren is supposed to be trans. And yes, there is a canon lesbian whose name is currently escaping me & Sothe is canonically bi, they just went with the “heavy implied to the point of being basically irrefutable” route instead of outright stating it, so it is VERY possible Soren is trans. I like all 3 ships tho)
Least favorite is... The dude from SS. I can’t even remember his name. He’s the only freaking mercenary in SS and his personality doesn’t do anything for me.
Favorite Knight/General/Baron
The Black Knight of course! His writing is bit... a lot of a mess, but you can’t deny how badass he is.
On a less villainous note, Forsythe is pretty cool too.
Least favorite is... IDK, was there one in Awakening? I thought there was one on the cover but he’s so forgettable...
Favorite Archer/Sniper/Ballistician/Bow Knight/Hunter
Tacomeme :)
Leon is also pretty cool, but he’s not nearly as useful in-game. I like Niles too! But I’d be lying if I said a good part of that wasn’t bc of Takehito Koyasu and his sexy voice rip
Least favorite is Faye in Heroes Python’s inability to hit the broad side of a barn Zero’s stupid name change to Niles Innes. His stats are nice but his personality rubs me the wrong way.
Favorite Pegasus/Falcon Knight/Sky/Kinshi Knight
Probably Claire! I didn’t expect to like her much (I got Maribelle vibes at first), but she really grew on me throughout the game and her supports. I love the way her friendship with Alm was written- if it had evolved into a romance I would have found it believable, but it’s one of the VERY, VERY few times I think IntSys has handled a one sided crush on the main character well.
Least favorite is... Probably Cordelia. Like I said, VERY few times. (Vanessa, Sumia, Syrene, Palla, Catria, Est, Hinoka, Subaki, Tanith and Sigrun all tie for second to last. This is... not my favorite class.)
Favorite Dracoknight/Wyvern Rider/Wyvern Lord
Hmmm... I would say Camilla, but my headcanon version of her is quite a bit different from the way she actually is in canon lol. So... Probably promoted Caeda. Minerva is utterly useless on the battlefield, unfortunately, and I like Caeda about the same as Clare so I put her here.
I guess I like Haar, Jill, Cormag, Gwin, and Valter (As a villain, not as a person) somewhat too.
Least favorite has to go to Beruka. I find her... bland.
Favorite Villager/Recruit
AMELIA THE GENERAL IS COMING THROUGH! MAKE WAY, MORTALS
Do I need to say who my least favorite is? Do I really need to?
It’s Faye. Because... she’s Faye.
Favorite Thief/Trickster/Assassin/Rogue/Ninja
That has to go to Julian! He’s very similar to Gaius, but instead of candy, his thing is puns. Fun fact: I have a blood sugar condition similar to diabetes IRL that makes me unable to eat sugar, so Gaius just made me crave sweets I can’t have most of the time :/
Second place goes to Gangrel or Rennac. Gangrel is actually my second favorite character to romance in Awakening due to his great redemption arc in his supports with both Robins & his talks with Em in the DLC, and IMO he makes the second best dad to Morgan (And yes, I have ALL of male Morgan’s supports with his fathers, yes, it was boring, repetitive, and took hours, and yes, the only one I like better is Chrom), and Rennac is just... so hilariously cranky. They also both go in the “They deserved better in their endings” bin- Rennac can’t marry L’rachel despite their great chemistry and Gangrel flat-out dies if you don’t marry him.
Least favorite... I guess Nina. I never found her very funny.
Favorite Cleric/Troubadour/Valkyrie/Bishop/War monk
Elise! She is... one of two healers I like. In the entire series.
The other is L’rachel.
And Sakura, Lissa, Natasha, and Rena I... don’t particularly dislike.
I don’t like any others. Tat/iana is the worst of the bunch. Tat/iana is actually my least favorite character in the series
Favorite Fighter/Pirate/Warrior/Barbarian
Maybe... Vaike or Ross? Or Boyd? Basilio? Wow, there aren’t any I really like a lot. Guess this is my least favorite class.
My least favorite of all HAS to be Arthur though.
Favorite Mage/Monk/Dark Knight/Sage
Soren! He’s really well written. At first he comes off as a racist asshole, but as the game goes on & you get his supports, he proves himself to be a really great, three-dimensional character. And he’s so gay for Ike. Like, so, so gay.
Least favorite is all of the little red-headed boys that are clones of each other. Except maybe Ewan, because he’s actually useful in-game. Most of the others aren’t.
Favorite Dark Mage/Sorcerer/Summoner/Necromancer/Druid/Witch/Cantor
LYON!!!! Oh man, I don’t want to spoil exactly what happens but suffice to say that he is my FAVORITE antagonist in the series.
My least favorite is either Validar or Iago... I don’t know which to pick. They are how NOT to do a decent sorcerer villain in FE. But all of the Cantors in Echoes also get a special mention for being FREAKING ANNOYING.
Favorite Manakete/Dragon Laguz
Tiki- particularly young Tiki! She’s so sweet... and badass!
Least favorite... ugh, I have to say Myrrh. I do like her, but her uses of Dragonstone are so limited that you can barely use her and while she’s just as cute as Tiki, she’s not nearly as tough. She also has a lot sadder story than Tiki- she’s a really good character, but she just doesn’t make me feel bubbly and happy when I see her the way Tiki does.
Favorite Beast Laguz/Bird Laguz/Taguel/Wolfskin/Kitsune
All hail King Naesala! He’s another character that brings a smile to my face when I see him-and that’s saying quite a bit, since he has a pretty serious story. This man oozes personality- He shows up on screen and you know he’s there to kick the world and rule the ass. And no, that’s not backwards.
Honorable mention to Reyson- every time these two are on screen together you know that Reyson is about three seconds from punching Naesala right in the nose, never mind the fact he’d probably break every bone in his tiny, fragile fist. The fact that Naesala’s only paired ending is with Reyson’s sister is just hilarious to me.
I guess my least favorite is Lyre... She sort of feels like she’s just there to have one more playable character to me, since she has so little bearing on the story.
Favorite Dancer/Singer
In terms of personality, supports, and gameplay, Feena is far and away my favorite. However... I’m honestly not a huge fan of her design, so in terms of appearance, Azura, who I personally think has one of the best designs in the series, takes the cake. The fact she has such a catchy theme song is a huge bonus too!
Tethys gets the last spot because she’s completely useless in battle. I’ve heard Ninian can’t fight either but she boosts your stats- why did they give Tethys the shaft so badly?
Favorite Lancer/Soldier
And finally... ending this on a weird one. See, neither Nephenee nor Oboro do anything for me- I don’t dislike them, but I don’t particularly like them either. So, I guess this one goes to Azura!

i’m currently trying to make a dnd character and i keep coming up w/ ideas and then being like ‘ugh no i’ve done that already’ so i’m gonna make a really quick list for my own ref; some of these are more homebrew than standard classes
sakine: bard/fighter (spellsword who runs around with a lute and wants 2 understand tonal architecture, etc)
indmira: ranger? that sounds about right
myrrha: wizard - subset necromancer
falne: rogue! pretty clear-cut
asta: monk. she spent years as a fighter/scout for the imperial army but now she just fucking brawls with her fists
ina: sorcerer/cleric (her magic is very free and unrestrained in opposition to how circle mages are taught to express their magic, also a healer) her specialization is a shapeshifter thing tho so ... d ...ruid... ? lmao my characters are a mess
io: wizard, but also a fencer and a blood mage. fighter/wizard?
kieran: also... a sorcerer.. .hgghhf.
wyn: bard-cleric-warlock maybe?; her actual class build would be a mess. she’s not religious at all but she is medically trained and i usually have her as a mage in aus where magic exists, so.
delilah: assassin (rogue but less focused on stealing and more focused on just .straight up murder)
lucy: uh..... what’s that one rogue homebrew that’s focused on being a tinkerer with cool contraptions. lucy uses laser & plasma weapons and is like neutral/chaotic good and leans towards pacifistic, so she’s kind of hard to put into dnd classes. WAIT MAYBE PALADIN? but she doesnt love Rules that much idk
nameless: w..arlock.. i mean it kind of carries over 1 for 1
dishonored oc: she’s shaping up to be very gunslinger-esque. she’s a performer and philanthropist and runs a spice business but i’m not sure how she is in fighting beyond just being a very good shot. so a fighter in the less-technological versions of dnd
UH SO IT’S OBVIOUS THAT I HAVE SOME KIND OF MAGE PROBLEM!!!

For the Tabletop RPG Ask Meme: 2, 7, 13, 17, 21, 23, 26, 30
2.) When did you start role playing? How old were you?I’m quite new to this, actually. We tried to start few games of DnD back in high school, but never got farther than one session (and the second attempt stopped at character creation), so it don’t really count. It mostly failed on the fact that it all felt so complicated. I started the Dragon Age RP I’m still playing in 2014, actually, we’ll be going exactly 3 years this month. :P I was 20.
7.) Longest campaign you’ve run or played in?3 years of DA RP. :D I’ve both played in it and ran it. About 50/50 time-wise. Longest single adventure was 9-sessions of boats and pirates we did last spring, I was playing in that.
13.) Your most ridiculous character. Def Juicyman666 or just Juicy. I visited a friend last month for a week and he took me to his local RP-club and I got to partake in a Cyberpunk RP for a session. Juicy was my friend’s character’s bf. He did bodyguard jobs mostly. He always wore bright neon colored crop-tops and booty shorts with the word “JUICY” on the butt (the pre-rolled character sheet said that he didn’t wear much so I just ran with it). And he was really fond of one-liners. And really really 90′s in general. Like Wesley Snipes in Demolition Man? That’s what I imagined him like.
17.) Something that shouldn’t have worked, but did.Literally the first thing I thought of was the awkward seducing incident. So, the story goes, our characters are trapped in a dream-world. Our dwarf warrior, Randy, thinks he’s an elf, because dwarves don’t dream in DA-universe. Cahair (my elven rogue) and Elspet (human mage) try to go get him, but he has somehow gotten himself into this situation which involves lots of naked elves and rocking horses (don’t ask). So. Logical thing for my character to do is strip down and go seduce him. Right? Right?? It worked. And then Cahair spent almost the entire trip in the dream-world dragging Randy around, pretending to be his boyfriend (which was super-awkward bc Cahair’s unrequited love was there too). It basically ended with Cahair making a deal with a demon just to get Randy back to normal.(we… don’t talk about this incident IC at all, we have all agreed it’s for the best)
Oh and I guess, one time we were so lost we asked a demon for directions? It worked. We wished it wouldn’t have… Caused us a lot of trouble that.
21.) Your favorite NPC and how the party reacted to him/her  Aah, that’s no doubt Konstantine, my necromancer mage I introduced in last campaign as a teacher for one of our mages. Well that mage in question hit it off with him right away, though the rest were a bit slower to warm up to him, since y’know, necromancy (or “black magic” as some referred to it, even tho it’s totally respectable in Konstantine’s home country) Our templar was most suspicious, since Konstantine has escaped from the mage tower. But, he’s part of our pirate crew now, and people have warmed up to him, and they seem to think he’s good enough with his magic to be a teacher and not need constant surveillance.
23.) Something you made up on the spot. Well, the DnD campaign I’m running rn is at least 50% made up on the spot as I don’t have time to write very detailed things. :D That’s going to bite me in the ass. It already has. The party found a body last session and for some reason I went a lil overboard with the blood descriptions and it basically ended with me going “yeah, clearly there’s been more people killed here, but you have no idea where the bodies are”. And… I don’t know where the bodies are, or why, oh no…
I also held a one-shot story about one of our DA RP characters killing his father with the help of some assassins (well, he wanted to rescue his mother and the father-killing was an unfortunate plus) and since I didn’t want to tell the players playing the assassins that assassination was the order of business, I had no idea how they were planning on doing it, before we began playing. Had to play the whole session by the ear, basically.
26.) The craziest thing your players have ever done, and how it affected your plans.I don’t think my players do crazy things that would affect my plans so greatly. Partly it’s because (esp in the past, but I’m getting better) I’ve been a bit of a rail-roader. Secondly we have pretty level-headed characters, so that even if someone wants to do something that might fuck me over (such as killing the arl’s son since he saw them breaking into the arl’s mansion) they’ll usually come up with a better solution (drugging him).
Well.. I guess they did skip one side-plot completely, bc they were just having none of that. There was this cursed house campaign I did, and a side-plot had to do with helping the ghosts of the kids in the house to rest (it wasn’t like, spelled out to the players but would have quickly became apparent). One of the kids (a teenager) they found so annoying that they just didn’t talk to her after the first time. :D Other was a very tiny boy they found in his room. He started bleeding and screaming. And our templar just… closed the door. Ah well. Stay restless my kids. I just skipped that content completely, it was a side-plot after all. (although they found the third kid (who was turned into a glass statue) again in a later campaign and are now trying to free her, so I guess the key was not talking?? :D)
30.) What makes GMing fun for you. I really like trying all sorts of different things for campaigns, content and game-play wise. I don’t think I’ve written two campaigns that were the same. I also like that I can write stories that are more than just a bit cliche and that can have some self-indulgent stuff in them that can still be enjoyable to gm and for the players to play. And writing campaigns, it’s just like, this creativity that keeps on building and rolling. I get so much joy from trying to figure out the plot points I left for myself and making sense of things and thinking “how can I lay these things out for the players to pick up?”Also I like working with players in learning about their characters and incorporating some personal elements into the campaigns (though the second part might not always work).And and when players take something that has happened to their characters in a campaign and use that as character development moment. Rly makes me happy, even tho idk how often that happens either. I just rly dig when situations I put people into inspire them to have character moments. ;A;

A brand new pantheon I guess??????
So I made a new pantheon for my d&d setting, except I'm not going to have just ONE pantheon because apparently I am an asshole that needs to make everything Realistic(TM) Anyway: We have the first five gods (I like to think of them as the First Generation Gods): - Urania, the archetype of the Sky, especially at night. She is the most worshipped deity in the flying mechanical city of Urania (yeah, the city is named like the goddess. That's how much they like her). Neutral Good. - Gaia, the archetype of the Earth. Her wife may have an entire flying city named after her, but she has an ENTIRE PLANET. Get rekt, Urania. Lawful Good. - Azera, the archetype of the Sea. He represents the sea and basically all of water. He's Poseidon but with a bi son - no, scratch that, I forgot that Percy Jackson exists. Lawful Neutral. - Imbri, the archetype of Fire. The Lord of Fire or, as I call him, the Problematic Child. Chaotic Evil, but his son is Good and also Gay As Fuck. - Calliope, the Keeper of the Book, the Storyteller, and the proof that I am, indeed, Homestuck walking trash. True Neutral. Then we have the Second Gen Deities, the children of Urania and Gaia and the evil offspring of Imbri and his right hand lol: - Nemal, the Deity of Time. They keep the time go and kick the asses of those arcane spellcasters that think they can fuck with time and get away with it. Lawful Neutral. - Rimene, the Deity of Love. They are not actually Urania and Gaia's child, for they merely "spawned" the instant these two dorky lesbian overdeities fell in love (and since it was before Time came to be, they were pretty much always there? Who knows). Neutral Good, because Love Is A Good Person. - Echidna, the Mother of Monsters. I downright stole this from Greek mythology but who cares? Not This Guy. She's the mom of a bunch of monsters, like demons, devils and some dragons. Neutral Evil. - Elessèra, the Goddess of Lightning. Pretty much Azula from ATLA. Lawful Evil. Then we get to Third Gen, with a bunch of children from almost all the gods. - Une and Mane, children of Urania and Gaia. Une is the God of the Sun, Mane the Goddess of the Moon. They are both Lawful Good and the Moon Is A Lesbian. - Uriel is the last child of Urania and Gaia. They're the First Dragon, the ancestor of all dragons. True Neutral. - Kurìma is the Goddess of the Deep and of the Darkness, child of Nemal and... themselves, I guess? She lives in the Underdark. Lawful Neutral. - Kae is the Deity of Death, offspring (maybe?) of Calliope with their sibling Ise. They are represented with both male and female features. They send crows to get the souls of the dead and bring them to the afterlife. True Neutral. - Ise is Kae's sibling, the Deity of Secrets and Magic. They appear either as a cloaked figure with no face or as a dark cloud. They live in the Library of Many Things, their plane where almost all of knowledge of the Multiverse is stored. True Neutral, as their sibling and (supposed) mother. - Ifae is the God of Wind, Storm, Chaos and Dance. He's the son of Azera and an unknown member of the Fair Folk. He loves messing with mortals and is especially worshipped by sailors. Chaotic Good. - Manasse is the son of Imbri. He represents the good, protective side of Fire. I imagined him more or less like Hestia from the Greek mythology, a quiet, young deity that's always ignored. Neutral Good (family gatherings are kinda awkward for him). Here, it's almost over: - Rakka the Necromancer is yet another Problematic Child. Son of Kae, the God of Death, said "fuck you" to their parent and decided to be the God of Undeath. He's basically the emo cousin. Chaotic Evil. - Amon, the Seer, is the son of Ise. Gifted with the power of prophecy, he's blind. Basically Sapphire from Steven Universe. Lawful Neutral - Èa the War-Mage is, as the name says, a War-Mage. She is kind of a minor deity so nobody cares about her. Chaotic Neutral. - Aerreo, the Traitor, Hesva, the Terror, and Irane, the Tyrant, are the three children of Echidna. Aerreo is a Chaotic Evil fuckboy, Hesva is a very terrifying Neutral Evil goddess and Irane is the Lawful Evil High Femme of the three. And now we get to the first mortals!!!!!!!! - Uriel and an unknown lady had Savossa the Unburnt, the First of the Dragonkin. This True Neutral lady was quite the badass, her dragon parent being literally the First Dragon. Her descendants were all Dragonkins, and their dragon blood is still strong, even after thousands of years. - Kurìma eventually became bored, living in the Underdark and separated from all the drama shit of her godly family, so she made Iokkur, the Stone-Shaper, the First of Dwarves. I considered giving him the title of the Stoner, but I guess it wasn't really a Lawful Good title. - Ìlima was the daughter of Amon and an unknown person. Gifted with the paper of prophecy by her godly parent, she always saw the future, but never submitted to it, being Chaotic Good. For that the First of Elves became known as the Doombender. - Thalassa ("sea" in Greek) was created directly by Azera, the archetype of the Sea, and thus she was given the title of Sea-Born (creative, I know). She was the First of the Merfolk. As her father/creator, she was Lawful Neutral. - Manasse, God of Fire, and Ifae, God of Wind, had a couple of twins (if you want to ask the logistic of their birth, the answer is Magic). Those twins were Essra, the War-Queen, the First of Orcs (Chaotic Neutral) and Lumen, the Dawnbringer, the First of Humans (Neutral Good). Then Elessèra cursed humans and orcs, and while orcs became the wicked race that now are, humans managed to keep their godly spark intact and broke the curse. However, after that, some humans shrinked in size, becoming the halflings. Special mentions: - among the children of Echidna were Demons and Devils alike. While Demons inhabit the Endless Abyss, Devils live in Hell. Among Devils, there were ten very powerful beings, the Archdevils. Each Archdevil had assigned a particular pocket dimension in Hell. One of them, however, fell in love with a wizard, a follower of Rimene, and redeemed himself. I don't have a name for neither of them, but the Archdevil is known as the Redeemed and the wizard as the Lover and became lesser gods. - the Fair Folk Is, and therefore Always Were. They are not gods - they do not possess the spark of imagination nor the power of creation - but they are very, very powerful. They live in the Feywilds, and are basically assholes that kidnap mortals to keep them as pets/ornamental plants/furniture/slaves just because they can. Like I said, assholes. Ifae is a good boy tho. Gnomes are their offspring.
