By the way, I did end up watching some of the inauguration, and wow was it just a load of horseshit. He talked for 30+ minutes in the emancipation hall and almost nothing of value was said.

One thing stood out to me, though, amidst his ramblings of how amazing he is and how incredible this election was.

He said, and I wrote down this quote immediately, "People are saying that inflation is the number one problem, and I disagree."

He went on to talk about how he believes that immigrants are the number one problem, and proceeded to talk on and on about he's going to build the wall. You know, the one he had four years to create and barely did anything for.

But that's beside the point. People voted for him because he promised them that he would fix the economy - that he would SAVE IT. He would bring the cost of groceries down, get inflation under control, and so on.

Now, he has said that he can't make promises on getting inflation down, that he can't say for certain that he'll lower the cost of groceries. And today, the day he is sworn into office, he said that when people - a.k. HIS VOTERS - told him that inflation were there #1 concern, he disagreed with them.

And that's because he's a business man, not a politician. More inflation means more money in his dirty, bloody pockets.

The prices of groceries aren't going to get fucking better. He doesn't give a single flying fuck about the cost of groceries for us. Not even for his followers.

You've all been played as fools, because he's a con-man, through and through.

I feel fandom would get along a lot better if there was mutual understanding that liking a character, agreeing with a character, and thinking the character is well constructed/executed are all separate (if often overlapping) positions, each with their separate tastes and subjectivities. Also: character portrayals are intended to make the audience feel things; this is separate from (if often overlapping with) analyzing/appreciating their actions and role in the story.
