Fuuck dude, where do I even begin with this dream I just had?

Okay, here’s what I can remember. I was at some park with my family and I for some reason could fly? Also, Philo was there and we were taking him to Tirnanoc, so we went on a park table to Tirnanoc. Philo left to see the other faeries and I did some investigating of my own. Turns out, there were plenty of faeries, each with their own unique ability! I first saw these faeries who could shift into wolves and I followed them during a hunt. Then I came across some faeries who had fire powers. Then I went back to the village and tried to fly but couldn’t. ;-; Then I found these ice faeries(Phi was going over to I guess find a boyfriend?? Idk-) who were about to play a game and there was this huuuge ice guy who was the head honcho of the whole shit. Then Philo came and the “episode” ended. But, and this is the crazy part, I unlocked the next episode! Phi was in some prison torture device cos somehow the faeries were mad at him and Tauriel, yes, Tauriel pulled up and let him out. Then it ended. Will I make a fic from this? Probably.

i personally have very complicated feelings on the Gotham Knights video game and the routes it takes with characterization. i think it has a charm to it and it goes in an interesting direction with everyone (especially within the confides of the plot of the game) but it does have certain moments that veer painfully fanon for me. (such as: the dialogue where Tim drinks too much coffee) it's an interesting story for what it is but i don't view it comics-based for characterization and therefore don't care to interact with it much for like. fanfic purposes.

that *said* though. i do have to give the game some kind of credit for giving one of the top five JayTim moments that lives rent free in my mind. every since i played the game, the cutscene lives in my mind daily. it's the specific cutscene where Jason and Tim are arguing about whether or not Jason's non-lethal bullets are too dangerous for the field, and the argument leads to TIm *standing in front of the target* Jason is shooting and telling Jason to shoot him. it lives rent free for me. i never stop thinking about this.

the absolute certainty Tim has that he is in no danger standing in front of Jason, who has a loaded gun pointed at his face. the way Jason *hesitates* for just a moment before lowering the gun. he thinks about it for just a second. Gotham Knights JayTim seem to get along very well and can rely on each other, but Jason still clearly holds a bitterness about his death and Tim that flickers through in some lines of dialogue under the guise of jokes. especially since this game deals *heavily* with concepts of Pit Madness causing an altered state of consciousness, i think it's believable that occasionally, Jason fights the urge to fight and hurt Tim for the feeling of being replaced.

i like their tension so much in this canon. they get along but you can *tell* Tim is afraid of addressing Jason's trauma or even addressing Jason head-on, and Jason leans into spooking Tim about it. which isn't very comics feeling in their dynamic, but it is an interesting way to place their dynamic if you're playing with a more timid Tim who's newer to the role of Robin. (which he seems to be in-game) he really doesn't want to offend Jason, or worse, piss him off. but he'll still face Jason head on for things like this, while completely aware of what Jason could be capable of.

and Jason seems very protective of Tim and respecting Tim as a Robin in typical Jason fashion. if Tim pushes, Jason *will* relent. he knows this is a kid who's proved himself and should be treated with equal respect, sometimes even more than Dick and Babs do in-game.

so for all that to culminate in Tim stepping in front of Jason's loaded gun that he *knows* is on the edge of being too dangerous, just to force Jason to listen? it's the most unhinged way Tim could've gotten his point across in this scene. he was literally daring Jason to hurt him and playing with a very dangerous fire. but he did it anyway bc he believed he could make Jason heel just at the thought of hurting Tim. and he was *right*. they're gay and i'm feral ty.

and Aziraphale popping into the backroom to bring back a tin of biscuits for himself, leaving Crowley alone for a minute, and Crowley gets up to look at the tree while he's alone and waiting for his angel: looks at the lights and the shiny round baubles,

and then comes across a hanging miniature of his beloved Bentley.

And him just being struck by numerous emotions at the sight of something related to him on Aziraphale’s tree… barely noticing Aziraphale's footsteps as he comes back from the backd

things largely stay the same in gotham for a while, until cass shows up and decides she’s taking over from dick as batman. it takes some work to get dick on board but eventually he agrees.

so dick moves back to nyc, taking damian with him. and dick then has to learn how to be himself again, and actually process his grief as he slowly figures out how to live in a world without bruce. meanwhile damian has already learned how to be robin, and now he has to learn to also be a kid.

back in gotham it’s Oops! All College Kids! with cass as batman/the bat, tim as robin, and steph as batgirl. jason is less than thrilled about this and cass isn’t about to let him keep killing people, so he quickly becomes a major antagonist. all of them are also obviously grieving in the meantime.

I haven’t gotten much further than that, but I think there’s a lot of potential here.

Hey, on the topic of my own fic writing, I’ve got a question for my followers/fic readers.

I have a tendency to never post any of my writing, because my various unmedicated (I’m working on it) neurodivergences and mental illnesses make it very hard for me to ever finish pieces, and I feel really bad about starting a fic that someone could be really into and then potentially never finishing it when my brain suddenly decides I’m not allowed to write any more of it. So a long time ago I made it a rule for myself that I never post anything until it’s 100% finished, even if I have like multiple chapter that are perfectly ready to be published. Which ultimately leads to me never posting anything and sitting on a hoard of writing that only myself and select friends ever see.

So my question is, it more upsetting to read part of a story that might never get finished? Or to know that there’s writing out there that you don’t get to read just because it’s not finished?

I've long since lost track of it, but I remember reading a case fic with Gepard and Sampo undercover at a masquerade (a classic for the ship by now skxjskdk) and they hide in a closet to avoid getting caught. While they're in there (definitely not making out), bronseele of all people open the door, which is already hilarious- like I can just imagine Bronya looking at her captain like I know what you are and Seele being pissed at Sampo because hey, SHE was gonna make out in this closet! Quit ruining the mood!!

But anyway I think the only other equally hilarious possibility would have been Pela walking in on them.

Like Gepard has Sampo up against a wall, hands on his waist, probably Sampo's lipstick on his mouth and suddenly there's the click of a door opening and light streaming in and he turns to look and. The three of them just kinda. Freeze for a moment, with Gepard's face slowly turning brighter and brighter red.

And then Pela slowly, shakily holds up her phone.

Gepard: OFFICER PELA, NO-

Sampo, at the same time: PICTURES ARE 50 CREDITS EACH!!

Pela throws a bunch of credits at them, Sampo grabs Gepard and dips him into a kiss, Gepard hears several clicks of a camera shutter, Sampo drops him, and by the time Gepard sits up and regains his bearings Pela is already running down the hall ("SORRY, CAPTAIN...!!") and Sampo has snatched up the credits (and also Gepard's wallet) and run off in the opposite direction.

Gepard finds Pela later (they literally work together she can't avoid him forever) and shakes her around until Pela yells at him that she'll get rid of it, fine, there, it's done, she deleted it!! (she did not) (Sampo made back ups for her) (his payment was copies of the photos)
