❤️There are a few that remind me of Cayde,but Higher Ground by Imagine Dragons is the first that comes to mind.

(It also reminds me of my Hunter.)

10. Could you be best friends with this character?

♠️Separating myself from my Young Wolf (anyone following me knows how I feel about those two.😘),yes.If I was in the Destiny universe ,I absolutely would be best friends with Cayde. I've been told by friends that he and I have a lot of similarities.(In fact, my friend that got me into Destiny said "You'd love Cayde. You remind me of him. Sometimes you say things and Cayde comes out.") Our sense of humor and personalities are similar and we're both pretty gosh darn loyal to our people.

🍪 If you were a cookie, what kind would you be? That’s so hard to decide tbh. I’d love to be a classic chocolate chip, something to love for everyone, I fear being the raisin cookie; a disappointment for those expecting chocolate, but most likely I'm a dark chocolate cookie, more intense and awesome than people realize! At least IRL people (I love you tumblr fam!!!)

🐶 Are you more of a dog person or a cat person? I definitely love both so much, but if I had to choose I’d pick cats. I have three adorable cat babies and I love them to pieces! I’ve also always had cats and never had dogs, so I think that biases my opinion 🤭🤪🤩

🙃 What’s a weird fact that you know? I ADORE weird facts! Here’s some of my favs: after we turn 25, our bodies stop producing enough red blood cells to fully match the ones that die, so that’s when we technically start dying; our skeletons are always wet; the brain learns how to perform for others at the age of 18 months old - this is also the age where we have formed our sense of normalcy (don’t worry, if yours was fucked up, it can be healed and relearned through loving community). Yeah. Idk those were just off the top of my head but I’m always down to talk weird facts. 😜

🍂 leaves: what does your editing process look like? how does your wip typically change as you work on it?

Typically I write a full rough draft, take a hard look at it and make notes of what I want to change, wait a solid few months, then go back and start re-writing it from scratch. Typically I’ve already come up with multiple things I want to change while writing the rough draft. There are always cornerstones of the stories and characters that don’t change, but everything else molds around those and changes to serve them better. For instance, in Order and Chaos, I said multiple times throughout the first draft that the lady is beloved by the people of the Commonwealth and truly wants to serve them, whereas the lord is distrusted and not known well; but I didn’t really show that much. So those core aspects remain, and other plot points and character dynamics are being changed to more clearly show and emphasize that.

🍎 apple: let’s talk about friendship in your wip. do you have any favorite friend/platonic dynamics? any friendships gone sour?

Ohoho do I!! As much as I love a good romance (and do have several), friendships make me go feral in a certain kind of way. Here are some of my favorites from each of my main WIPs:

Star Wars: Exiles - Jaina and Aji’s friendship is so sweet!! Neither of them have ever had siblings, so it takes a bit for them to get used to living together, but they pretty quickly become the sisters they never had. They’re both really lonely in a lot of ways, so they find solace in each other. Since Jaina’s several years older, and a lot more nurturing and traditionally feminine, she very easily slips into the big sister role. She may be a little know-it-all and sanctimonious at times, but she genuinely cares so much and will always be there for Aji with a hug and a place to rant. Aji, on the other hand, shows Jaina how to have fun again (though that fun may or may not result in getting in trouble more times than not). And since Jaina’s not good at standing up for herself, Aji will for her in a heartbeat. Hurt Jaina in any shape or form? Woe, small Mando be upon ye!

Order and Chaos - The lady loves her attendants SO MUCH you guys. So much. She’s not able to show it as much as she wants to, but having her girls around her is what helps her keep going every day. They are all so individual and lovely in their own ways, and they truly are a band of sisters who will support each other in every way possible. And they would absolutely lay down their lives for their lady (not that she would ever ask it of them).

The Raven and The Sparrow - There are multiple friendships in R&S, but the most interesting one is definitely Jay and Mel. As cousins growing up together in the slums, they were inseparable, and stood up for each other against bullies and villagers wanting to rid their town of Spirits. But, as they got older, Jay was hurt more and more, and Mel always seemed to get himself out of it—sometimes at Jay’s expense. Jay simultaneously clung to Mel as one of the few people who even slightly cared about him, and began to hate him. After Mel’s mother died, his father told him of Ilse, and Mel decided to leave even though Jay begged him to stay. That just built resentment between them. Jay didn’t know where Mel had gone, only that he had chosen to leave; when Jay wound up on Ilse’s doorstep himself, he was shocked to find Mel there. They pretty quickly became rivals for Ilse’s attention and approval, and the resentment only grew from there. Mel was always quick-witted and charming, and the strength of his powers meant Ilse offered him positions she wouldn’t give anyone else. But she also favored Jay and kept him closest to her, and despite the abuse he suffered because of that, Mel craved the attention and even semblance of love and resented Jay for receiving it. Lots of messy character dynamics there, and it will be really interesting to explore how they reconcile during the actual events of the book!

KIA - - - One of my biggest pet peeves is people who act all tough and high-and-mighty when you can tell by looking at them that they're nothing. Like...I'm from Crime Alley, homeskillet. I know kids that could kick your ass. Calm the attitude a little.

ASHLEE - - - Oh, anyone who acts like they're entitled to something or a service. Really hate when people come up to my desk and demand to be seen immediately, especially if they're two hours early for their appointment. If you ask nicely if there's been a cancellation or something, I'm more likely to help you than if you walk up and demand it. You're so lucky that I'm not brave enough to slap you.

KIRA - - - Oh, I know this one! Please don't rush me when I'm working. Or doing stuff. Magic, especially, takes time. If I rush, bad things happen. Like demons! Do you want demons? Because this is how you get demons! I would know!

TIATHA - - - Stop acting like you do not need my assistance. Your arm is attached by a thread. Your heart is exposed. You used one of the angel fingers to return to life twice. Stop acting so self-important and let me help you.

XAENTE - - - STOP RUNNING FROM ME, YOU DAMN MAGE! I WILL catch you. It's my JOB and my PASSION. STOP RUNNING AND ACCEPT YOUR FATE. Also when people chew loudly next to me. Stop chewing your food. I'd prefer you choke on it, actually.

NEIA - - - If I'm talking, shut up. Be quiet. I have important things to say too, and when you talk over me, it makes me feel like you don't value me or what I have to say. Conrad taught me that. Let me speak. Argue if you wish, I do not mind a discussion or a disagreement, but at least let me get my words out first.

AMARA - - - Personal space is a thing that's very important to me. I know I'm really clingy sometimes, but that's to people I trust. If I don't know you, please social distance from me. If I can feel your breath on my face, you're entirely too close and I might hex you out of self-defense.

ASTARIA - - - Double-handed phrasing. For example, saying 'no offense' after saying something incredibly offensive. You clearly meant offense. If you're going to say something, own it entirely. Don't speak otherwise.

It’s time.  What’s your oldest memory? What language do you think sounds the coolest? Have you ever planted a seed?

I have a very vague memory of my family moving when I was 2. I think I also remember a little bit of being in preschool when I was 3 or 4. But they are all very fuzzy, not like specific moments that happened. Just... vibes.

I'm biased towards French bc that's the one I can actually speak, but I think Arabic, Xhosa, and Welsh all sound so cool in very different ways.

Who's the cuddler? They are both big on cuddles.

Who makes the bed? HAAA neither. They both have the mentality that they are just gonna mess it up again later so what's the point. Joey will if friends are coming over but that's really it.

Who wakes up first? Joey. I feel like Valon is a night owl or works nights so him being up before noon is a big nope.

Who has the weird taste in music? I feel like they both listen to similar type of music. Yugi probably has introduced Joey into so weird shit though so i'll go with Joey on this one!

Who is more protective? Both are super protective over the ones the love just in different ways. Valon is quicker to throw hands while Joey has gotten better about trying to defuse a situation but will still 100% throw himself into a shit show without thinking about himself.

Who sings in the shower? Fuck i really feel like they both would be singing together in the shower.

Who cries during movies? Joey totally cries during movies and tries to hide it. Joey such a weird mix emotional dork that still tries to play off the whole macho act. Valon gets sappy at the found family trope but that's really it.

Who spends the most while out shopping? Valon. He's always looking for new stuff for his motorcycle. He totally builds gundam models too as a hobby and that shit aint cheap.

Who kisses more roughly? Valon. He can never get enough of Joey when they kiss. He def leaves hickeys ALL over Joey too.

Who is more dominant? Valon mostly because he's just more confident sexually. Joey gets flustered with sex so he likes when Valon takes the lead

My rating for this ship : 10/10 This is my favorite ship at the moment! There's like no content but im hoping to write some stuff soon!

The older I get the more I admire people who are earnestly, genuinely into whatever their thing is. I know it sounds like an annoying cliche but unless you're being cruel or hurtful there is really no need to be normal about things. The dude with the bad fake accent at the renaissance faire is having the time of his life. The people having photoshoots with their fashion dolls are loving it. The old lady with a yard unreasonably full of tacky ass lawn ornaments is having a blast, HOA be damned.
