What Is The Purpose Of Thermal Protector For Motor?
In the world of electrical engineering and motor technology, ensuring the longevity and safe operation of motors is paramount. One critical component in achieving this is the thermal protector. This device is designed to safeguard motors from the damaging effects of overheating, which can lead to motor failure, safety hazards, and costly downtime. In this article, we will explore the purpose of thermal protectors for motors, how they work, and the benefits they provide.
Overheating Protection
The primary function of a thermal protector is to prevent motors from overheating. Motors generate heat during operation, and under certain conditions—such as heavy loads, high ambient temperatures, or inadequate ventilation—the temperature can rise to dangerous levels. A thermal protector monitors the motor's temperature and disconnects the power supply if the temperature exceeds a pre-set threshold. This automatic shutdown prevents the motor's windings and insulation from being damaged by excessive heat.
Prolonging Motor Life
By preventing overheating, thermal protectors play a crucial role in extending the lifespan of motors. High temperatures can degrade the materials used in the motor's construction, leading to insulation breakdown and mechanical failure. Regular exposure to overheating can result in repeated damage, significantly reducing the motor's operational life. Thermal protectors help maintain the motor within safe temperature limits, ensuring that it operates reliably over a longer period.
Preventing Fire Hazards
Overheated motors can become serious fire hazards, especially in environments where flammable materials are present. When a motor overheats, the risk of ignition increases, which can lead to catastrophic fires. Thermal protectors mitigate this risk by shutting down the motor before it reaches temperatures that could cause a fire. This protective measure is essential in industrial settings, residential applications, and anywhere motor-driven equipment is used.
Ensuring Safe Operation
Safety is a paramount concern in any application involving motors. Thermal protectors contribute to the safe operation of machinery and equipment by ensuring that motors do not operate under unsafe conditions. They provide an automatic response to overheating, preventing potential accidents and ensuring the safety of both the equipment and the people operating it. This is especially important in industries where motors are critical components of larger systems, such as manufacturing, HVAC, and transportation.
Minimizing Downtime and Maintenance Costs
Unplanned motor failures can lead to significant downtime and high maintenance costs. When a motor overheats and fails, it can disrupt operations, requiring time-consuming repairs or replacements. Thermal protectors help minimize these disruptions by preventing motor damage before it occurs. By maintaining the motor within safe operating temperatures, thermal protectors reduce the frequency and severity of maintenance activities, leading to lower overall maintenance costs and improved operational efficiency.
Complying with Safety Standards
Many industries have specific safety standards and regulations that mandate the use of thermal protection devices for motors. These standards are designed to ensure the safe and reliable operation of electrical equipment. Using thermal protectors not only helps in meeting these regulatory requirements but also provides a measure of assurance to operators and stakeholders that the motors are being used safely. Compliance with safety standards is essential for legal and insurance purposes, and thermal protectors play a key role in achieving this compliance.
How Thermal Protectors Work
Thermal protectors are typically integrated into the motor's design or installed as external devices. They operate based on temperature sensing elements, such as bimetallic strips or thermistors, which react to changes in temperature. When the motor's temperature rises above the safe threshold, the thermal protector triggers a switch that disconnects the power supply. Depending on the type of thermal protector, it may reset automatically once the motor cools down, or it may require manual resetting.
Types of Thermal Protectors
There are several types of thermal protectors, each suited to different applications and motor types:
Bimetallic Thermal Protectors: These use a bimetallic strip that bends when heated, triggering the switch to disconnect the power supply. They are commonly used in small motors and appliances.
Thermistor-Based Protectors: These use temperature-sensitive resistors (thermistors) to monitor the motor's temperature. They provide precise temperature sensing and are often used in more sophisticated applications.
Electronic Thermal Protectors: These use electronic circuits to monitor and control the motor's temperature. They offer advanced features such as adjustable temperature thresholds and remote monitoring capabilities.
Thermal protectors are indispensable components in the safe and efficient operation of motors. By preventing overheating, they protect motors from damage, extend their operational life, reduce the risk of fire hazards, ensure safe operation, and minimize downtime and maintenance costs. Furthermore, thermal protectors help in complying with industry safety standards, providing peace of mind to operators and stakeholders. As technology advances, thermal protectors continue to evolve, offering more precise and reliable protection for motors in a wide range of applications.

SandWings
It's finally time, people!!!
SandWings have been on the agenda for a while and I'm so happy to finally have them done. Here's as much info as I can give right now.
General
SandWings are medium-sized bipedal dragons that inhabit the desert, badlands, and other transitional biomes of Pyrrhia. They come in a variety of muted desert-y colors, but the most common include: Yellow, brown, red, dusty orange, and some black.
SandWings, unlike most other tribes, are built for running long distances rather than flying. While their wings are still perfectly good for travel, it's far more efficient to travel on foot, since they are the fastest tribe on the ground.
Their wings are smaller in comparison to their body than most other tribes as well, so they largely rely on desert thermals to keep them aloft. In places with minimal air currents, or with excess cold, SandWings have trouble gaining lift.
SandWings have light armoring along the scales of their back, although these armor-plated scales are not quite as tough as you would expect. These armored scales are thicker than the rest as to protect them from the harsh sun; although they do double as a nice additional protector from other SandWings' venomous tails. Otherwise, they're not great for protection.
Their armored appearance bears heavy resemblance to MudWings, and it is believed that MudWings and SandWings are quite closely related; albeit MudWings are much more on the heavyweight-end.
A SandWing's horns can be of any shape and array, although most commonly, SandWing horns protrude forward like bull horns; especially female SandWings, where they're used to vie for the throne. These horns are utilized at high-speed to ram into targets, and to duel with rival SandWings. Being hit by a SandWing horns-first at top-speed is near equivalent to being impaled by a motorcycle on the freeway.
SandWings are also adorned with frills along their head, neck, & chest. Male SandWings have additional frills along their lower jaw & lower torso.
These frills are continuously-growing, meaning that SandWings typically cut, style, & shave them at their discretion. Some SandWings prefer their frills long, like Princess Blister. Other SandWings cut them quite short to keep them out of the way during battles, like Six-Claws. Short frills became standard for SandWings during the War of SandWing Succession, as they became a distraction or a detriment otherwise. It was rare for a SandWing not to have short frills during the 20-year conflict, if they were battlers and not factory-workers.
SandWings are notorious for their potent venom. This venom is created and stored in sacs inside the barb at the tip of their tails.
While adult SandWings are perfectly capable of killing another dragon with a lethal dose, SandWing dragonets are far more deadly. Not strictly because of the venom, but because they lack the control needed to limit how much venom they inject. A sting from a newly-hatched SandWing is more likely to kill you than a sting from an adult, who can decide how much they want their sting to hurt.
Culture
SandWing culture is nothing mysterious; they have some of the most well-known festivals and armaments in the continent.
SandWings, having so much land to themselves, utilize much of it for factories and plants. They are one of the most technologically advanced tribes, with steampunk-esque mechanisms and structures throughout their kingdom.
Their metals of choice include copper, tin, and bronze; much of it mined within the desert itself. However, with the SkyWings' alliance, SandWings on Burn's side of the war have been able to import metals and other materials from the mountains to create stronger weapons & armors. Similarly, Blister & Blaze's forces have been able to do this as well, albeit with fewer materials overall and less armored dragons total.
Weapons and armory aren't the only things SandWings create with their metallurgy though. SandWings, having deep respect for their veterans and a cultural motto that you will always survive to fight, also create advanced prosthetics.
Prosthetic legs & arms are the most common, but you might also catch a SandWing with a prosthetic wing or tail. Some SandWings get horn replacements if their horns break off in battle and become less effective at fighting with.
Prosthetic wings are by far the rarest to find, since they are the most expensive to make & obtain, and don't actually perform quite as well as a normal wing. Most dragons with prosthetic wings use them to show off their worthiness in battle, how they survived and were heavily rewarded for their supreme skill and efforts.
Each prosthetic, weapon, and piece of armor comes branded with several labels: The name of the factory it was made in, the name & seal of the queen/princess it was made under, and its serial number. These labels would allow each rival sister to check their dragons' true alliance. SandWings with the seal of a rival sister would be killed, as it would then be apparent who they went to for their supplies.
After the end of the War of SandWing succession, the seals for Burn, Blister, and Blaze were retired in favor of Queen Thorn's own seal. As a result, armor with the royal SandWing sisters' seals were considered limited collector's items, and have increased dramatically in their value.
Prior to the death of Queen Oasis, these seals were not a generic serial label, but a gift from the Queen, almost like being knighted. To have armor with the Seal of the Queen was considered a great honor, but times have changed.
RGAAAAH I HOPE Y'ALL LIKE THIS If you have any questions or ideas you want me to fill in on, please shoot me an ask or something bc I would love to answer !!

Scars of the Protector
A (very) short story about how Wrecker got his scars.
This started as a warm up drawing then morphed into this. I'm just in a very Bad Batch mood lately. I've always been curious about Wrecker's scars. I had a dialogue going on in my head what drawing so I thought I'd practice a little writing too! Let me know what you think! I'm always very nervous to share my writing because I have no idea if it's any good 😅 so any constructive criticism is welcome!
Star Wars- The Bad Batch
Word Count: 660
Warnings: Angsty as hell, vague descriptions of battle, vague descriptions of panicking
Scars of the Protector
His hulking form was barely contained in the Bacta tank. The medics seemed doubtful he’d even fit. For the first time in his life, he looked small. Over a day now he floated in the salty healing water, motionless. His brothers watched on in suspense as the hours sluggishly rolled on. If they got him here sooner he’d already be healed and there wouldn’t be scarring like the medics predicted. He’d still have two working eyes and hearing in his left ear. If they actually worked as a team this wouldn’t have happened.
Hunter was always their unquestioned leader, but Wrecker was the protector. Despite his gentle nature, he knew how the regs saw him. A threat. A brute. He took on the role with great pride, always willing to step up. Always willing to fight the battles for his brothers.
This is our fault.
The unspoken words made the air in the small sterile room heavy. There was no point in saying it out loud, they all knew. The guilt was so evident on their faces. They all panicked and now their brother was paying the price.
From the moment they were born, they were told they were special. Different in a good way. It made them better than the rest. The perfect soldiers. Out there, it made them cocky.
It was their first mission. A battlefield they’d trained for and dreamed about their entire lives. Finally fighting the war they existed for. It should have been second nature, and in a way it was. In the beginning, they flowed with the action flawlessly. The commands and formations drilled into their heads. Was it really this easy? It was, until their numbers started to dwindle. They were forced into a corner in the heat of battle.
After gurgling hours of fighting they were the only ones in the squadron left, surrounded in the rubble with no way out. How could it have gotten this bad? They were better than this, weren’t they? Instead, the prodigy Bad Batch had been reduced to cowering children in the bodies of men. They’d ceased firing. The march of the remaining droids was deafening. They’d all froze, fear gripping their quivering limbs. All of them, except for him.
Their strongest brother. The explosives expert still had something left to save them. He gathered his final handful of thermal detonators and armed them all quickly. It was more than enough to take care of what clankers were left. He removes his helmet to get a better aim before tossing the charges over their rubble barricade.
He turned to smile down at his brothers, as he had so many times before, to assure them it was going to be okay now. He’d protected them like he always had. They were safe again. Before he could speak, a single detonator was returned, Wrecker taking nearly all of the blow.
The battle was won. Medics took hours to arrive.
Most men would be dead, but then again he wasn’t most men. A bred killing machine. A freak. Their brother. And now the only one to wear the evidence of the horrors they’d seen on his face. Something to remind them how they failed him that day, and a quiet promise they’d never let it happen again. They’d all make sure of it.
They knew he wouldn’t be angry when he woke up. He was never angry. Still, they were afraid of what had changed in him. Would this be the same brother they knew? Would he still smile and laugh the way he always did? Could he even still do that?
Only time and healing will tell, and they stay by his side for all of it.
They all drift in and out of sleep in the medical bay, but none of them ever notice the small eyes peering around the corner. A vigilante gaze, like theirs, that also makes sure her brother would be okay.

If you can donate non money stuffs to Palestine, you can donate:
Clothes:
Desert-coloured clothes: light brown to gray range. This can help civilians to blend into surrounding and less likely genocided.
Veil, or fabric with light brown to gray colour. It helps them blend from above too.
DON'T DONATE BRIGHT OR CATCHY COLOURS. IT WILL MAKE THEM EASILY VISIBLE.
Bags, backpack especially. They can carry their belongings and shield their head.
Face mask made of fabric or not. Preferred to have khaki, light brown, grayish brown.
Gloves and socks for winter. We are nearing winter now.
Underwears to keep them hygienic
Aluminium foil blanket to keep them warm and to hide their body temperature from night/thermal vision.
Sunglasses to prevent Israeli drones detect their faces!
Face cover cloth or buff (still desert colored)
Hat! Wider the better! We need to keep them from sweatin too much so they won't get dehydrated. It hopefully make IOF miss their bullets.
Hazmat suit to combat against white phosphorus and any poisons weapon that's breathable and absorbed by skin
Miscellaneous:
Gas mask + filters
Tough stainless steel food and drink containers
Helmet that cover whole head
Arms and legs protector
Antiseptic

Titan History: Kong
Welcome once again to Monarch: After Dark, the digital gateway between you and the organisation dedicated to understanding and navigating this troubled new world we live in.
Apologies for the lack of communication in recent weeks, Monarch has been hard at work collecting data and collaborating with global governments through the most recent Titan crisis, including the disposal of deceased Titan remains and the best course of action to take with Godzilla in his new resting place.
That said, today's communication will be going over a Titan who has been surging in popularity across the globe over the past few years; the undisputed king of the Hollow Earth, Kong.
(Pictured above: Kong approaching an Apex Cybernetics research facility on Skull Island, circa. 2017)
Monarch Database File: Kong
Monarch Designation: Titanus Kong
Height: 337 feet
Weight: Unknown
Nature: Unknown
Behavioural Classification: Protector
-----
Until recently, Kong was believed to be the last of his kind. Born during a climactic final battle between his parents and a horde of Skullcrawlers (ravenous amphibian predators on Skull Island), Kong grew up in an isolated world filled with danger at every angle. Growing up to become the guardian deity of Skull Island, Kong was held in great reverence by the native Iwi tribe that lived on the island. His species, designated Apus giganticus, were also known protectors of the Iwi, fighting off the Skullcrawlers and other threats until their last breath.
During his centuries on the island, Kong fought a variety of creatures, from the Mire Squad and Sirenjaws to other Titans such as the mysterious Kraken or night-bringer Camazotz. However, in 2021, a storm generated by Monster Zero fused with the perpetual storm surrounding Skull Island and plunged it into chaos. Three years later, in 2024, Kong was removed from the island as the key to a daring plan to uncover a Hollow Earth energy source to stop Godzilla. The two alpha Titans clashed twice before setting aside their differences to take down Apex Cybernetics' rogue superweapon, Mechagodzilla.
Currently, Kong now resides in the Hollow Earth alongside a newly-freed tribe of his speices, an orange ape-like Titan which he seems to have adopted as a son, and the ancient ice Titan Shimo.
(Pictured above: Monarch officials reviewing recovered footage of Kong from the doomed 1973 expedition to Skull Island, circa. 2019)
While Kong's exact origins are unknown, research conducted within the Iwi settlement appears to place his birth somewhere in the 17th Century, making him perhaps the youngest Titan on record. However, his entangled history with Monarch began much later, in 1973.
In a time where Monarch was on its last legs and facing the possibility of being shut down, founding figure William Randa and geological advisor Houston Brooks lobbied to piggyback on a Landsat expedition to Skull Island. With a military escort courtesy of the Sky Devils squadron, the team dropped seismic charges on the island to map the bedrock beneath the surface. Unknown to them at the time, their charges awakened the Skullcrawlers living in thermal vents beneath the island and incurred Kong's wrath.
Kong swiftly destroyed the Sky Devils' helicopters, leaving the survivors split into two groups. One, including Brooks, encountered the Iwi and stranded WW2 pilot Hank Marlow, where they learned about Kong and his history with the Skullcrawlers. A second, including Randa, embarked on a mission of revenge driven by Colonel Preston Packard.
(Pictured above: Kong battling the remnants of the Sky Devil squadron after being lured into a napalm trap, circa. 1973)
After being lured into a napalm trap by Packard, Kong was initially helpless to battle the recently awakened Skull Devil, the last of the adult Skullcrawlers that had a hand in wiping out his family centuries prior. Recovering quickly, the two beasts engaged in a brutal encounter. Following some assistance from the expedition survivors, Kong triumphed by tearing out the Skull Devil's innards, avenging his parents in the process.
His next major sighting occured in 1993, but without a Monarch presence on Skull Island at the time, this is pending investigation. According to witnesses, Kong did battle with a large underwater Titan (designated 'Kraken'), after being coaxed to the island's coast by Annie, a young girl stranded on the island for years with a strange dog-like beast as a companion. After exchanging many blows, Kong ultimately killed the Titan by tearing its body in half.
In 1995, Aaron Brooks (Houston's son) led an unauthorized expedition to Skull Island, as he felt unsatisfied with leaving protection against the Skullcrawlers to Kong alone. During their stay, mythographer Walter Riccio experienced vivid visions of Kong's origins, under the influence of an Iwi medicinal drink. When Riccio destroyed the wall to the Iwi village, Kong stepped in to vanquish the Mother Longlegs swarm that seized their chance and killed Riccio before communing with Aaron and the Iwi.
(Pictured above: Artistic rendition of Kong tearing the "Kraken" Titan in two, based off eyewitness testimony, circa. 1993)
In the following decades, Kong was largely left to his own devices as the island's guardian. Though Monarch teams briefly assisted him in 2015 with a crisis involving the unknown organisation Janos Biotech and the island's Snarehunter population, and Kong himself kept a horde of Skullcrawlers that attempted to leave the island in response to Monster Zero's 'alpha call' in 2019, no major events really transpired between 1995 and 2021.
In 2021, as mentioned previously, Skull Island was plunged into chaos when one of Monster Zero's residual storms merged with the storm system surrounding Skull Island. When darkness fell, the bat Titan Camazotz emerged and battled Kong for dominion over the island. Thanks to a daring pilot triggering a sonic boom to disorient Camazotz, Kong was able to prevail, though he was ultimately unable to save his home.
Three years later, and the artificial habitat Monarch built for Kong was unable to hold him much longer. He was reluctantly taken to the sea and transported to Antarctica's Outpost 32 (now rebuilt as a Hollow Earth station), though not without attracting Godzilla, who destroyed the naval fleet transporting him and almost drowned the ape. Following the acquisition of an axe left in the Hollow Earth by his ancestors, Kong and Godzilla clashed again in Hong Kong. While Godzilla prevailed through sheer power, Kong refused to submit to his rule.
(Pictured above: Kong leaping onto Godzilla's back from a building after staging an ambush, circa. 2024)
After being revived by an exploding H.E.A.V, Kong jumped in to stop Mechagodzilla from executing his organic counterpart. Setting aside their differences, the two Titans teamed up to take down the mecha. A blast from Godzilla's atomic breath charged up Kong's axe, and he was able to deal the finishing blow by hacking Mechagodzilla to pieces and holding its severed head in triumph. The two Titans regarded each other one more time before parting ways.
Which brings us to the present. While much of what transpired is still being compiled to our databanks, it is known that Kong returned to the surface on three different occassions. The first was to have an infected tooth removed at a Monarch facility, the second was in Egypt to coerce Godzilla into assisting him, and the third was a two-on-two battle in Brazil between Kong and Godzilla, and Shimo and the "Skar King", evil ruler of the Kong tribe in Hollow Earth.
-----
And there you go! An up-to-date account of Kong's history in the modern world, intertwined with Monarch from the 1970's. Currently, Kong is enjoying life down in the Hollow Earth, and as the world should do, this is where we leave Kong's story be, until the world needs him again.
Until next time,
Monarch: After Dark

Ancient Marble Statue of Hercules Discovered in Rome
ROME : Routine sewer repairs in an area in Rome, which was seeking a recognition from the Unesco as a World Heritage site, have led to the discovery of an ancient Roman-era marble statue of the mythical demigod Hercules.
Repair crews were called in after sewer pipes in the national park at the Appian Way collapsed, causing ditches and minor landslides.
The excavations, which reached a depth of 20 meters and as rules require in the Italian capital, were carried out with the presence of archaeologists.
The life-size marble statue found at the site is reported to be of Hercules, an ancient Roman demigod known as the protector of the weak.
The figure represented by the statue carried a club and had a lion's coat over his head, part of the iconography representing Hercules.
According to reports, the statue likely dates back to Rome's imperial period, which stretched from 27 BC to 476 AD.
The find recalls last November's discovery of two dozen well-preserved bronze statues beneath the foundations of thermal baths in Tuscany.
Those statues were 2, 300 years old, even older than the Hercules statue.
The marble statue of Hercules was broken during excavations but was otherwise well preserved.
This is the second time this year that the Appian Way makes international headlines.
On January 11, the Culture Minister formally backed the inclusion of the Appian Way on Unesco's World Heritage list.
It was the first time the Ministry ever backed a UNESCO candidacy directly.
The Appian Way is an ancient road that spans 550 km between Rome and the southern Italian city of Brindisi.
t was designed in 312 BC by statesman Appio Claudio Cieco. His goal was to build a road that quickly connected Rome to Capua for the movement of troops southwards during the Second Samnite War (326-304 BC).
Later on, the route was extended to Brindisi to directly connect with Greece, the East, and Egypt, for military expeditions, travel and trade.
It was the most famous route in the Roman era.
If the Appian Way becomes a Unesco site, the Appian Way will be the second longest such site after the Great Wall of China.

How Ottawa Weather Impacts Your Windshield and When to Replace It
Ottawa's weather is known for its extremes, from frigid winters to hot summers, and these conditions can significantly affect your vehicle's windshield. Understanding how the weather impacts your windshield and knowing when to replace it can help you maintain safety and avoid costly repairs. Here’s a detailed look at the weather-related factors that influence your windshield and tips on when replacement becomes necessary.
Winter Challenges: Ice, Snow, and Temperature Fluctuations
Ice and Snow: Ottawa's winters bring heavy snowfall and icy conditions. When ice forms on your windshield, scraping it off can cause small chips and scratches. If these minor damages are left unattended, they can grow into larger cracks. Additionally, the expansion and contraction caused by temperature changes can worsen existing damage.
Temperature Fluctuations: During winter, your windshield experiences constant temperature changes as you move from the cold outdoors to a heated car interior. This rapid transition can cause the glass to expand and contract, potentially leading to stress cracks. Even a small chip can quickly turn into a large crack under these conditions.
Salt and Debris: Road salt and debris kicked up by other vehicles can also chip or scratch your windshield. These small damages, if not repaired promptly, can compromise the structural integrity of the glass.
Summer Heat: A Different4Kind of Threat
Thermal Stress:In the summer, the intense heat can cause thermal stress on your windshield. Direct sunlight and high temperatures cause the glass to expand. If there are any pre-existing chips or cracks, the expansion can cause them to spread rapidly.
Rapid Cooling:Just as rapid heating can cause stress, sudden cooling, such as blasting the air conditioning on a hot day, can also lead to cracks. The contrast between the hot exterior and the cool interior can create stress points that eventually turn into larger cracks.
When to Replace Your Windshield
Knowing when to replace your windshield is crucial for maintaining your safety on the road. Here are some signs that it’s time for a replacement:
Large Cracks:Any crack larger than a dollar bill or that stretches across the windshield is a clear sign that replacement is necessary. Large cracks can obstruct your view and weaken the structural integrity of your windshield.
Multiple Chips:Several small chips or cracks can compromise the strength of your windshield. If you notice multiple damages, it’s best to opt for a replacement rather than multiple repairs.
Edge Cracks:Cracks that originate at the edge of the windshield are particularly concerning as they can spread quickly. These cracks can compromise the bonding between the glass and the vehicle frame, making replacement essential.
00Impaired Vision:If any damage obstructs your line of sight, it’s crucial to replace the windshield. Driving with impaired vision is hazardous and can lead to accidents.
Compromised Structural Integrity:The windshield plays a vital role in the structural integrity of your vehicle. If it’s damaged, it may not provide adequate support in the event of a collision or rollover. Ensuring your windshield is in good condition is essential for your safety.
Preventative Measures
To extend the life of your windshield and avoid frequent replacements, consider the following preventative measures:
Park in the Shade: Whenever possible, park your car in the shade or use a windshield sun protector to minimize thermal stress during hot weather.
Avoid Rapid Temperature Changes: Gradually warm up your car in the winter rather than using hot water to melt ice or quickly cranking up the heat. Similarly, avoid blasting the air conditioning on high immediately upon entering a hot car.
Repair Chips Promptly: Address minor chips and cracks as soon as they occur. Small damages are easier and cheaper to repair, preventing them from spreading and necessitating a full replacement.
Regular Cleaning: Keep your windshield clean and free from debris. Regularly check for small chips and cracks, especially after extreme weather conditions.
Ottawa’s weather, with its icy winters and hot summers, poses unique challenges to the health of your windshield. Understanding how these conditions impact your windshield and knowing
when to replace it can help you stay safe on the road and avoid costly repairs. ☆ 𝐌𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐚𝐠𝐞𝐬 𝐅𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐫𝐬 ☆
𝐌𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐥𝐢𝐬𝐭
𝐏𝐚𝐢𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 : Astronaut Ellie Williams x Areospace Engineer Reader
𝐒𝐮𝐦𝐦𝐚𝐫𝐲 : you and Ellie, both starry eyed dreamers are about to achieve your life goal
𝐖𝐚𝐫𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐬 : mentions of worry of death, mentions of implied near death experience, mentions of implied near drowning
𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬 : a fluffy oneshot that just popped into my head a few days ago- also isn't really proof read
You didn’t want to open your eyes, you wanted to stay right where you lay, curled up with your wife under the safety of your bed’s comforter, the curtains drawn protecting you from the outside. In here, you were in your own little world where the only people that existed on your little planet was you and her.
You and Ellie met in college, both just starting interns at NASA with dreams so big they were reaching for the stars. And that was the goal the two of you shared, going up there in that big black void just once in your lives. You were twenty-seven now, Ellie just turning twenty-eight and your dreams had shifted. You both had gotten married young, when you were just barely at the age where you could legally drink and you were both onto your second phase of your education to work at NASA.
While you had originally wanted to be an astronaut like Ellie you were never able to complete your NBL test. You had gotten into the water, and due to someone kicking you in the back by mistake you hit one of the underwater beams causing your helmate’s glass face to crack before shattering completely, you barely made it out alive. After that you couldn’t bring yourself to go back in the water so you sat on the sidelines cheering Ellie on.
It seemed like your career at NASA, or any sort of program dealing with space was now impossible to reach. But after a couple more years of schooling and countless sleepless nights were brought on as an engineer.
Now almost all the years later you found yourself being one of the leading bodies in the up and coming space mission. Ellie’s space mission. It was her and two other bodies, they would go up, circle the planet a few times then come back, it should only take a few days. But the amount of wrong that could happen. From the moment your wife puts on that suit and gets into the Flight Deck her life was in danger. The ship could easily explode the moment it launches, an enemy country could shoot it out of the sky, a meteor; no matter how small, could strike the shuttle and everything could go to hell. But what scared you the most was that if something were to go wrong it would be on you. You tested that shuttle time and time again, you made sure its thermal protectors were in tacked, its rocket boosters were past perfect. Nothing bad was going to happen on this mission, not on your watch.
Unfortunately 2:30 a.m. came and your alarm started to scream. You could always just shut it off, let Ellie sleep in and miss the launch. But you knew that Ellie would be so upset at herself if that were to happen. She’d be hurt if she found out that you purposefully let her sleep over, missing the one thing that she had dedicated her whole life to since she was a little girl.
So you pulled the blankets off of your body and wearily reached over, hitting “OFF” on top of the glowing red digital clock. Ellie started to stir beside you, she must have felt you get up because soon she was rolling over onto her stomach, her arms loosely looped around your waist.
“What time is it?” She mumbled into your pillow.
“2:30”
“2:30?!”
Ellie shot up, her eyes suddenly wide and awake. Her head whipped to the white board calendar on your wall in your office space. The red x’s covered its pearly surface following the days until it reached a box that had “LAUNCH DAY!” with a big red circle around it and several arrows pointing to it. Around the circle was little stars and planets sporadically, Ellie even put a doodle of the two of you as stick figures in a rocket ship blasting off with a heart. It was obvious that she was excited for today.
You wish you were too.
Maybe if you were going up with her it would be different. You wouldn’t care so much about the safety hazards of this mission because if you were to die up there and your wife was with you then you could say you died happy.
But you were stuck down here on Earth, sending Ellie up there with two complete strangers, taking the risk of dying alone and you having to watch her die.
You stayed sitting in bed, numbly staring down at your stormy gray comforter and Evergreen throw blanket while Ellie got up to get things ready. You needed to leave in thirty minuets to ensure that you could be at the launch sight by quarter until four and the launch be at twenty five after six.
“Come on hun we ‘gotta get going!” Your wife called from your master bathroom. But when you didn’t respond she got concerned and peeked her head out to find you sitting in bed still, your head hung low.
“Baby?”
You didn’t look up at her, not until the bed dipped and Ellie’s calloused hands found your cheeks. She tilted your head up gently and was shocked to find tears glistening over your eyes.
“What’s the matter?” She asked softly.
Truth be told Ellie had been worried about you with the launch coming up. She knew how badly you wanted to go up there with her but with how the accident at the NBL pool held you back. She was worried that you were mad or maybe even jealous with her. But deep down Ellie knew that wasn’t the case.
As hard as you tried to hold back the negative emotions that were flooding you you still burst out into tears. “I don’t want you to die!” You sobbed. “I’ve been so scared about this mission and if something goes wrong it’ll be my fault! And— If you die—” you shook your head, gripping the blankets firmly, “I could never forgive myself!”
Ellie felt her heart squeeze and crack. You weren’t upset with her, you were scared for her! All the space missions in history that went wrong after something that was so easy to be fixed went unchecked and the astronauts died, all the horror stories that had been rushing through your brain since you had been asked to help spear head the perpation of this flight. Ellie understood now, this wasn’t jsut some ‘let’s cross our fingers and hope they come back alive mission’ this was a ‘if something goes wrong I will be losing my wife mission’. She knew that you hadn’t voiced any of these fears to her because you didn’t want her to be scared or ruin the excitement she was feeling.
“Baby, look at me.” The woman gently whispered and you hesitantly looked up. “Whatever happened today I promise everything will be fine. This is the risk that comes with this job. But the good that we are doing each time we go up there, whether its you me or who ever we discover a little more each time. I’m not going to lie I feel fucking terrified but you wanna know the one thing that is giving me some faith in this mission?”
“What?”
“You.”
You blinked at her, sniffling some. Had it not been such an emotional moment you would’ve called your wife out for the cheeseness in her words but you let her continue on.
“I feel safe knowing that it was you who helped design this shuttle, it was you that triple checked, probably quadruple checked each and every little detail, even the ones that most think aren’t important. I feel happy knowing that when we land in that ocean in the next two days its going to be your face that I’m greeted with when they come to get us.”
Ellie put her forehead against yours. “You have no idea how lucky I am to have you in my life. To be able to say look at her, that's my woman, that beautiful scientist that is making this whole mission possible is mine.”
Your wife gently pulled away and wiped off any tears that were left on your cheeks. “Now, are you ready to go make history love?”
With a nod you smiled up at her, your confidence returning and she responded by placing a sweet kiss on your lips.
It was time.
Two Days Later
“I see them!” One of the crew members called out standing on the bow of the Coast Guard's ship. You looked up from the little metal table that you and your fellow scientist were hunched over as you discussed some readings with them. “Excuse me,” you whispered putting your hand on one of your college's back telling them that you were leaving.
Stepping out of the captain's deck and into the cool sea air you heard the rescue boat splash down into the water racing toward the pod several yards out. Making your way to the bow of the ship you stood by the capitan. “May I?” You asked motioning to the binoculars.
“Of course Mrs. Williams!” The captain instantly shuffled to get them up off his neck and set them into your hand. You on the other hand rolled your eyes with a smile, lifting the took up to your eyes to get a better look at the pod and the luminescent boat careening to it.
“You know my name Jack, you can use it.”
After the launch you were surprised to learn of the reputation you had built for yourself over the past year. People had grown to respect you and see you as a leader of the team and while yes it flattered you, you wish they weren’t so jumpy around you.
The little craft pulled up beside the metal pod and one of the men got up to open the hatch. This was the moment of truth.
Johns stepped out, then Melissa and after a few moments you saw the striking auburn hair of your wife climbing out. Once they were safely on the boat and headed back to you the whole ship broke out into a chorus of cheers. You jumped and screamed, hugging the captain tightly, shaking him. You were so happy.
The Coast Guard's crew went to the starboard and helped up the woozy astronauts, stretchers and blankets ready should any of them collapse. Ellie’s legs felt like jello as she was pulled up out of the little raft and onto the firm floored ship. All she wanted was to let gravity take her body down and sleep for several years. But despite all of this, Ellie ignored the haziness clouding her vision, the fatigue eating away at her body and the nurses urging her to lay down, all she needed right now was you.
You pushed past the crew member that was keeping you and your fellow scientists back and raced towards your wife. It was like that sappy scene in all of those romance movies where the couple is dramatically reunited. You met in the middle and the moment that Ellie was in your arms she let her body slowly sink to the floor.
“We did it, Stars.” She sleepily smiled up at you as she leaned against you, the two of you sitting on the floor ignoring the looks you were getting from the rest of the crew. You leant down and placed a tearful kiss on your wife’s sweaty forehead, brushing the damp hairs off of her face.
“Yes we did.”

The rise in the demand for electronic equipment and the upgradation of existing grid networks across the globe will propel the demand for the Thermal Protector market. The growth of the global thermal protector market is further driven by the expansion of the industrial, commercial, and residential sectors. Along with this, the increase in consumption of electrical equipment in applications such as building & construction, power transmission & power distribution, building, construction, and mining boosts the growth during the thermal protector market forecast period.

beautiful and healthy hair
In many cases, a person's self-esteem is dependent on their hair. If you want to have silky and healthy hair, here are some daily steps to take.
! - touch up the cut ✩
many people run away from the hairdresser for fear of cutting, but it is something necessary to be done about every three months. The ends of the hair dry out easily, and then split ends appear, which in addition to giving the hair a “dry” appearance, also hinder growth.
! - wash them properly ✩
when washing your hair you must observe your type of strand first, oily hair can be washed every day, in water at room temperature or cold. Dry hair, on the other hand, can be washed every other day, with products that focus on hydration.
! - reduce the use of heat sources ✩
try to use heat sources at least, but if necessary, always use a thermal protector, it will help protect and reduce the frizz of your hair.
! - if hydration is important ✩
hydration is necessary for all hair types, regardless of whether it is oily, dry or normal. So your hair will be soft and hydrated.
these were today's tips, thanks for reading this far. Take care, kisses 🫐

5 STEPS TO GET GORGEOUS GLOSSY HAIR FOR YOUR WEDDING DAY
Everyone wants gorgeous glossy hair on their wedding day right? Preparation for beautiful bridal hair should start months before the big day. Aim to start a consistent haircare routine at least three months before the big day, or longer if you have thinning hair. With regular conditioning, overnight oil treatments and a break from heat tools, you can transform your hair to its best possible condition.
1. Oil is your friend
Oil is an essential feature for soft and supple hair. Use natural oils like coconut or almond before you shampoo like a pre-treatment. Set aside time once a week for an overnight treatment, applying oil to your scalp and massaging with fingertips using a circular motion. Apply the remaining oil on your palms to the lengths of your hair. Cover with a towel or shower cap and leave on overnight. The next day, shampoo hair, rinse thoroughly and condition as normal.
2. Double up on shampoo
I always advise people to have two shampoos in their shower. One for their specific hair type (for colored or highlighted hair for example) plus a regular shampoo for frequent use. Switching between the two ensures that the hair remains glossy and shiny because the hair doesn’t get used to one shampoo, which can cause over cleansing. Using two shampoos also helps to keep your hair at its correct ph balance, which creates beautifully shiny locks.
3. Use a deep conditioning treatment
Shampoo your hair and towel dry, then blow dry to take excess water out. When your hair is about three quarters dry, apply a handful of your favorite conditioner or hair mask to your hair and scalp, massaging it in well (if you have fine and a greasy scalp, just concentrate on the mid lengths and ends). Wrap a soft cotton towel around your hair to keep it warm and leave on for 15-25 minutes. Now rinse off the conditioner and dry hair with low heat, or naturally in the sun.
4. Consider a keratin treatment
If you favor silky straight hair but find that you are prone to frizz, a keratin treatment might be for you. Also known as a keratin blow dry or Brazilian blow dry, it's one of the most effective smoothing treatments for boosting shine and manageability in frizz-prone hair – leaving it sleek and straight. However, proceed with caution and ensure you have a professional consultation if you're thinking about this treatment. It's generally not advised for blonde, highly processed hair.
5. Give your hair a break
If you frequently use hot tool appliances like straightening irons and wands, stop for a while to give your hair time to recover from all this heat damage. Over heating leads to dull hair and breakage to follicles and hair shaft. If you must use these tools, be sure to use a thermal protector spray and keep heat at about 160-190°C.
