for the red rooms in devildom, imagine lucifer finally deciding to give red rooms a shot when he realizes mc will soon leave devildom and/or keeps rejecting his affection
Lucifer being the avatar of pride means he can’t exactly handle rejection. Maybe a few times at first, seeing it as a way to chase and have fun and to prove himself to you and sweep you off of your feet, but after a while it really gets under his skin.
Why? Why are you denying him? Sure he can understand being scared of him, he’s one of the most powerful demons after all, and sadly you were more than once on the wrong end of that ire and anger when you first arrived. He won’t deny that your emotions with those incidents are possibly why you wouldn’t want to be with him, but surely now you see hes trying to make amends? That he’d kiss the ground you walk on and make sure to keep you safe?
It seems you were serious about denying and rejecting his affections. You tell everyone at dinner what a wonderful time you’ve had, and how in three days time you’re expected to leave, back to the human world, leaving them to wallow in your absence.
Well, you won’t get away with that. He won’t let you make this mistake. He just gives a soft smile, a gentle hug, and tells you that he’ll miss you, but as you head up to bed and listen to Mammon and Levi’s blabbering and sobbing, Lucifer decides to make a rather last resort call.
The Red Rooms. The last place he ever wanted to bring you. While they care for the darling's experience, he doesn’t want to have to force this, but you’re really leaving him no choice!
He’ll make sure the rooms are to your tastes. Stuffed animals to cry into when overwhelmed, softer gags to be easier on your jaw, padded cuffs to make sure your delicate human skin isn’t bruised unless he decides to bruise it himself.
The demon chuckles on the other end of the line but once they hear who’s making the call, they shut up and show respect.
“Nothing rough. This is to prove my devotion and how I’m better than my brothers. I want only the best, the softest, the cleanest and the safest. I won’t hesitate to kill you and wring your blood into my food to devour. Do we have an understanding?”
He goes through the list, his mind getting even more perverted than Asmo as he pictures how he’ll make you moan and whimper for him. “Oh? Well I must admit that golden hellfire newt syrup would be a nice touch but I'm as ready as ill need to be. Yes, I'm aware it's a potent aphrodisiac but I assure you, my love and lust know no bounds when it comes to my sweet little minx”
The call goes on a little longer, Lucifer giving some final details on safety measures, only giving Diavolo's emergency number in case he completely loses himself, and so on. Who woulda thought the demons in the seediest parts of the underworld would be so caring? Then again it’s rumored Barbatos and Diavolo run the palace in disguise so…
When asked how they are to bring you in, Lucifer just smiles and tries not to break the phone in an angered crush. To think they’d touch you, it just sent a pang of anger through his core. But he knows they’re simply doing their job, so he can’t exactly kill them just yet.
“I’ll use the spells you have on hand, or ill bring them in myself under a guise of a last dinner together. You’ll know it's me by what I'm wearing. None of this better go wrong, or I assure you, you wont live to warn the others of my wrath”.

💻 DCA AU Idea: Digital Horror 💻
This is my first time posting a DCA AU so I’m sorry if my post sounds more like disconnected rambling ahaha 🥲 But here goes!
The DCA duo in a digital horror setting.
Think KinitoPet but instead of Kinito as the mascot of a long-lost pet game, it’s Sun and Moon as the face of an old creature collection/virtual pet game created by Fazbear Corp on their old 90s company, kid-friendly website.
Think like a mix between Pokémon and Neopets, speaking as someone who played too much Pokemon and played literally zero Neopets 👍🏻
One day many years after the website has been shut down, You hear rumors about a “haunted” pet game made by the Fazbear Corp and decide to check it out, because you didn’t watch enough horror movies to know this is a terrible idea :>
The game (archived and run on a server supported by Fazbear fans, I don’t know much about tech so I dunno if this is even possible but whatever) runs like it should when you first enter it. However, it starts acting up when you input your old username…
I might start writing this as a fic once I’m further along on my current fic, so for now I’ll just be dumping my AU ideas on this blog haha
Here’s a summary and a brief snippet I wrote because the idea wouldn’t leave me alone:
Virtual pet game websites are a dime in a dozen. You might’ve tried out one or two in your childhood, but memories of that are fuzzy at best. It’s only when your classmate brings up a particular website hosted by Fazbear Corporation that you begin to remember playing it briefly during its heydays, and you decide to visit it for nostalgia’s sake.
=0=
“Welcome to Sun and Moon’s Superstar Daycare!” the computerized voice of the sunny jester character trills. He lounges on top of the window asking you to create a new account, kicking his curly-tipped shoes merrily in the air as he eagerly awaits your input. His bouncy avatar, its details showing hours of love and dedication poured into each brush stroke, paints a hilarious contrast against the shoddy art that makes up the background of the game. You don’t really care, though. It’s not like anyone plays these types of games for its art.
Your hands hover over the keyboard. After a moment’s hesitation, you try to enter your old username.
“Starbite”
Most likely the “Sorry, this username has already been taken” prompt will pop up since you clearly remember using it as a kid, but there’s no harm in trying. You click on the “Confirm” option.
Nothing happens.
Weird. Is it hanging? You click it again, and again. Nothing happens. Even Sun has frozen still. Yep, it’s definitely hanging. Pity, but it’s not too unexpected considering the game’s age. You decide to fall back on the good ol’ cure: spamming the mouse button. clickclickclickclickclickcli
his eyes flick up to stare at you
The shock shoots through your whole being like a lightning bolt. You gasp sharply, eyes fluttering close for a brief moment before they’re cast on the computer screen again.
“Welcome back, Starbite!” Sun says. He takes center stage in a field of rudimentarily drawn grass, the baby blue sky matching the bright smile stretching from “ear” to “ear”, like nothing had happened. “Go forth and pick a Faz Pet to be your forever companion, and I hope you enjoy your stay at our esteemed daycare!”
The character delivers his scripted lines like he should.
The character has his arms up in celebration like he should.
The character smiles at you like he should.
So what is this cold dread trickling down your spine…?

Vampire AU | Rumors and Mishaps
“How ya feeling?”
Harper was looking better but still clearly very weak but she was awake and not looking to be overly groggy. Jake wasn’t allowed to remove his face mask and there was no physical contact which he figured was agreeable given the circumstances. She looked remarkably small in her bed but that was probably given the size difference in his avatar. It was a little weird; she was so stern-faced and seeing her like this was… different.
“Like someone cut me open and stole one of my organs.” Harper mused, licking her dry lips.
Jake snorted a little as he seated himself comfortably on the cool floor. “Well, in our defence, it was killing you. I’d rather steal your organs and have you live to complain about it.”
“Oh, you’re looking for a kidney next? My spleen?”
“You offering?”
Harper rolled her eyes but she was smiling a little. “Thank you. I…appreciate that you all came to help me. Mo’at too.”
The Tsahìk in question was present, but situated in the corner of the Rolab with Eliza and with a new collection of freshly plucked herbs; clearly educating the doctor on what they were and how to make it into a viable paste.
“Humans gotta have each other’s backs out here.” Jake said, “Especially when you’re sick. We gotta have compassion and community…. And someone has to drag Zeke off the floor when he’s fainted.”
“Hey! I hear you, you know.” Zeke was by one of the monitors, the window painted over so it was a little dark but he looked to be busy with some science scans of a plant.
“Good,” Harper remarked.
Zeke tore his eyes from the screen and then poked his tongue out in their direction. “Look, no offence, Trin, but I don’t want or need to see your guts. Some parts of the women’s body should remain under their skin.”
Harper rolled her eyes softly.
“I saw you rub at your side when we were moving the shacks, was that…this?” Jake asked, nodding to her side. “Why didn’t you say something? We could have had you checked out way sooner.”
Harper sighed heavily. “Honestly…I thought it was my menstrual cramps. A bad month. Plus, I’ve toughed it through pain before. Didn’t think much of it and…didn’t wanna bother anyone.”
A slight tisk from the Tsahìk echoed, a little muffled from her mask. “Pain is often a sign that something is wrong. Ignoring it will not make it go away. What would have happened if this rupture happened at night?”
“You know, I can absolutely see you trying to clamber into your bunk bed in complete denial about the worst pain you’ve ever experienced before in your life.” Zeke mused, “Be like ‘na, I’m good, I’m good. Probably gotta sleep. Yep, sleep will solve this…just gotta…’” He went far to mime a little crawling motions then his hand to his side as he slouched in his seat dramatically. “And you crawl your way across the module floors like some cryptic eldritch horror then heave your way onto the top bunk with the quiet hope your insides don’t pop out.”
Harper remained quiet for a moment, looking very unimpressed but… a little guilty, “Yeah. That sounds like me.” She admitted after a moment, running a hand through her hair.
“The fact you live with a shit ton of concerned people probably would have raised the alarm sooner.” Jake said, “I doubt you could have gotten up a ladder.”
Harper poked her tongue out playfully. “At least it worked out for me and it didn’t happen at night.”
“But we could have been too late.” Jake leaned forward, the tube of his mask hitting the edge of the gurney’s support frame at the motion. “No one wants that for you or anyone. Any strange pain, you get checked out, okay? Something small can turn into something big. Too many people on Earth have died because they thought it was something small and that it could go away in time, that even their doctors sent them away without a check-up.”
Harper looked away, mostly to her hands. “Okay.”
Jake nodded. “Good.” He rose up to his feet, to leave now and to let the woman rest. No need to disturb her anymore and no doubt the others were gonna swing by.
“Actually, Sully,” Eliza moved away from her work, “In a few days, I want you back here in your human body. I want to run a physical.”
Jake frowned at the doc in confusion. “What, Why?”
“Unlike Harper who felt she was in pain, you can’t feel pain lower than your waist. I want to check and make sure you’re not dealing with anything you can’t feel...or ignoring if it feels minor. Appendix first but paraplegics are prone to pressure sores, kidney stones, muscle spasms and urine tract infections.”
From the look passing from Mo’at, it was a clear sign he wasn’t gonna get out of it either. Neytiri was gonna drag his tail if he tried to do training instead.
“Okay, fine but no prostate check I had that before I left.”
-
Neytiri was waiting outside when he got out nor was she alone. Ashely was in her avatar as well in nothing but some very short shorts and her avatar tank that…looked to have been cut down to just about cover her breasts. Around her waist, she had a hand-woven belt from strumbeast hide with a few side pouches. She had a few decorative pieces on like an anklet and an armband. Her braided hair was pulled back from her face. An odd mixture of Na’vi and human attire. He hadn’t noticed it before.
“All good?” He asked, eyeing the avatar a little as he picked up his bow from where he had left it.
“Ashelysloan will be joining us on this hunt.” Neytiri stated, “She needs to hunt for both her camps while Harper is recovering. I wish to see her progress since Tsu’tey will not be about. He’s got another patrol to run. Slinth has migrated out of our territory fully now and now the real danger has passed for the sky people to really start their machines.”
Jake nodded but he couldn’t help but hide his disappointment that he’d have to share this time with someone else with Neytiri. Still, he knew putting it aside was necessary; this wasn’t about him. They were also in their domain of the woods so…made sense. He could respect it.
“Any progress?” Ashely asked.
“Not much, the seeds we’ve planted in advance have settled well and waiting for the machines to pass over. It will be a glorious stop.” Neytiri grinned a little as she spoke, clearly enjoying the thought of what was gonna happen.
Seeing her happy made Jake feel very… happy too. He couldn’t blame her for that, any chance at slowing the sky people was good.
“Looking forward to it, got it.” Ashely nodded, reaching for the nearby tree stump and collecting her bow and arrows she had resting in it. “What are my chances of Zeke helping me butcher my kill?”
Jake sniggered a little, while Neytiri rolled her eyes with a titter but instead of answering, led the way to start their hunt.
-
Neytiri hadn’t been wrong about Ashely’s capabilities which had been a firm reminder to Jake to actually pay attention to his follow avatar drivers and their skills; between training with Neytiri and sitting in a circle with the bead makers and weavers, Jake hadn’t seen much beyond when they had come to him or crossed paths.
Their feet running, even as a group were near quiet, practised steps with stepping off from making obvious tracks was still on Jake’s mind but with Neytiri, it looked second nature enough that it didn’t look like she had thought about it any more.
Ashley was the one leading the hunt, bow out but they were tracking the same thing, he could smell it in the air but while he struggled to follow it, his fellow driver seemed to pick up more. He took note of how she touched a few leaves, watching the response from the environment to pick up the scent again. He watched how the plants reacted too, sniffing carefully before her ears perked. He listened out before he heard it; the soft tugging sound of grass and hefty breath.
Ahead, Ashely’s bow form was perfect with how she crouched in the undergrowth and her steps were quiet in her crawl. Her draw was quiet and he noted how her breathing was even as she lined up her shot, even her tail paused before she let go of the string and the arrow was gone.
Barely a second later, her prey—a yerik—dropped without a sound and the herd scattered.
Ashely jumped swiftly from the bushes and both Jake and Neytiri followed at a distance but the woman didn’t need to put the creature out of its misery; the arrow instantly killed it with a shot straight to its nasal cavity in its chest.
A clean kill.
He didn’t need to be an expert to see that.
“<I See You, Brother, and thank you. Your spirit goes with Eywa, your body stays behind to become part of the People>” Her words were spoken fluently as her hands rested upon her kill before she straightened up and pulled out her arrow softly from its body.
“Well done,” Neytiri remarked, impressed. “It didn’t suffer.”
Ashely smiled. “I’ve always had a good aim. I’ve studied their anatomy; their chest and nasal cavity is an immediate kill spot… or their head but that’s a smaller target.” She leant over the yerik thoughtfully, rubbing down its spine of soft fur. “I need to take this back, I wanna start butchering and getting the meat marinating. We’re having potato and Yerik strew and this is gonna be wonderful!”
Jake found his mouth watering a little at the thought. Strew did sound great and…potatoes. God, he missed potatoes.
“When can we start trades?” He asked, helping with grabbing some vines from Neytiri to help weave a basic sledge to drag it with little harm.
“How long until the weed’s done?”
“The first batch is grown but it’s drying out right now. Nadine learned the hard way of trying too soon. Once it’s dried out, we’ll get portions made up. We’re also germinating new seeds so there may be some you can grow here.”
Ashely hummed in interest. “I’ll talk to the others.”
Between the three of them, the yerik was sledged back up towards Ashely’s camp since they had wandered closer to that side of the forest and she pulled out a woven tarp to lay it on.
“Need some help?” Jake offered.
“I’m good, thanks. “ Ashely declaimed, “Do you want the skull once I’m done?”
“I will take it.” Neytiri said, “Our Bone shapers will often recraft these to make ornamental jewellery or tools.”
Jake hummed in consideration. “Maybe I should give it a try? Bone shaping? I’ve only ever made bone beads but nothing fancy.” Morgan had definitely seemed more interested in the art the last day or so, maybe it was in part the fact he had a ton of skulls he wanted to put to use now. Their camp had a lot of bones as well since crafting was slow going with their low numbers. The flesh of their hunts was gone quicker than the rest of it. Sure, Kim had given some to the Kung camp for frames but they still had a ton that was building up.
“I suppose… but it’s far more active than bead making. It’s a more significant process than just shaping bone. The bones come from our butchers. They’re cleaned, separated and checked. Any bones too small to be useful for a craft or damaged will go to the bead makers. Those that aren’t claimed by weavers for clothing or dye are then returned for the bone shapers to craft and create.” Neytiri explained, rising to her feet. She bid farewell to Ashely and led him back into the trees for his own hunt.
He followed her lead with a tight grip with his bow as he went. But Jake was quick on the mark to understand her concern on the matter and why he hadn’t been properly introduced. It was easy to figure it was on the same lines as the leather workers and tanners. Bead making and weaving were stationary and in a way easier suited him in his human body, as the same was making arrowheads and dyes.
With more active work, getting up and moving often would be his difficulties in his chair; the terrain would be harder to navigate with roots and getting in and out of his chair to sort through bones would become tedious. Still, he knew without a doubt that they would find ways to accommodate his disability if asked.
“I’d still like to give it a try. Plus, I can still have my Dreamwalker. Some days I’m not training if you’re too busy with your tsakarem duties. Plus, I know how to clean bones and organise them. N’deh is…very strict in making sure we respect our kills and their gifts. I don’t need that much training in that regard in bone shaping.”
Neytiri hummed softly. “We’re heading back to Hometree for this afternoon. If you can secure a good hunt.” She challenged.
Jake huffed but nodded.
-
After watching how Ashely was able to move much more, Jake really began to try and soak in and replicate how Neytiri moved as well; he had seen how she had moved and had tried to copy it but…he had always had that distraction of just…her. Watching her but not…paying attention to the details of what she was doing.
He followed as she ran, along the tree and up into the higher branches, mirroring her jump and swing across the gap and putting trust in both his body and her (and hoping he didn’t slip so high up). Unlike his end of the forest, they had far more large mushrooms and big leaves that were bigger than him, allowing for a quick and safe descent from the tree tops.
Jake however didn’t make a graceful landing but he was down, winded but ready to carry on with a grin at the incredulous look Neytiri gave him as his gracelessness before she rolled her eyes.
“Skxawng.” She muttered.
Jake just laughed, collecting up his bow.
Soon enough though he let himself get serious and take the lead, pressing his senses out with soft sniffs to see if he could pick up a scent. He stepped in a way that mirrored their training and became near silent but he found the tracks of a yerik after a few minutes and with a scent to follow so he began his journey. His arrow ready and his bow out front.
The sense of anticipation built as he heard the sounds ahead, the clear sounds of something moving about; grazing the foliage ahead. His eyes locked on carefully as he caught sight of his kill-to-be so he remained close to the land, his bow taking aim as he lined the arrow towards it’ main body; a shot to its middle would kill it better than a shot to its shoulder. He had no clear angle to hit it in its instant-kill spot on its main body so he had to make do.
He pulled back the string, the effort pulling the sore muscles but he ignored that; he had to impress Neytiri with this… he had to show her he was learning.
Jake let out a breath as he let go, the arrow singing through the air and with a thud, the yerik went down with a cry. He made to dive forwards to offer a prayer and to properly kill it but a hand suddenly grabbed his tail, a hand coming to slap across his mouth. The noise bubbled in his throat before the reason for Neytiri’s sudden turn of behaviour became clear.
A team of three heavily armed SecOps officers promptly seemed to appear through the treeline and close enough to notice the yerik as it tried to get up. Jake’s heart rocked in his chest. In part in complete surprise of the RDA patrol but the ache came for the pain he had delivered to the yerik; a non-instant kill and one he couldn’t put out of its misery without revealing himself. It didn’t deserve that pain…
Neytiri pulled him back and he begrudgingly followed silently. There was the sound of a gunshot and the yerik’s pain was ended. He let the prayer run through his mind but he didn’t turn back.
They didn’t stop for a while. Neytiri had been swift in getting him back to the far outskirts of Hometree, she didn’t stop until she was shakily kneeling in the foliage beside the river, taking steady breaths.
“That was too close.” She breathed.
“I know.” Jake couched next to her. “We could have been caught.”
“No, you could have been caught.” Neytiri corrected. “I…I thought for a second that…you could have been killed uf you went I—I can’t have you taken away like that. Their weapons are strong and we were…so underprepared.” She shook her head. “We were careless.”
“The RDA must have changed their patrols. Smaller teams. We should report this to Eytukan.” Jake’s hands came to her shoulder, hoping to offer her some support. While his heart still sang, he felt calmer. Or maybe it hadn’t quite sunk in yet. Either way, he’d freak out about it in a bit.
“Yes.” Neytiri nodded vigorously. “Yes. But… we need to make sure that…they don’t recognise you. Your Dreamwalker. You…you need to look Na’vi. Like Kimgreene and Jerome. Blend in with us so they don’t immediately see you as a Dreamwalker.” Her hand came to his bicep but he could feel the tremble in her touch.
Jake blinked, surprised but also touched by her conviction. “Let’s…just focus on one thing. Telling your father. We…can discuss that with the others. They’ll need to know about the new patrols first.”
Neytiri’s brow pulled in but she nodded, taking a moment and patting his hand of comfort to gather herself. “Okay.”
As she went to rise, he tugged her a little to keep her from going up, unable to help himself to ask. “Are you okay, Neytiri? You look very shaken.” To put it politely. Something felt wrong and he could see…familiar signs of stress.
Neytiri scoffed, though her eyes were sad. “I’ll be fine.”
“But you’re not okay right now?” He rubbed soft circles with his thumb into her skin, “If it’s private, you don’t have to tell me, but… I’m here if you want to talk.”
Neytiri sighed softly. “It’s… reminded me of…the surprise we had of the soldiers at the… school. Their…guns. Their clothes.... Them. I know it’s…silly; they weren’t looking for us but… I feared for you.”
Jake nodded softly in understanding. Her own…trauma had come back to haunt her. “You’ve been triggered. Very normal for the pain the sky people caused you and it’s okay to not be okay. We can still stay back and wait. I am here with you. The sky people are far away.”
“We need to tell my father.”
“Given where they are, they’re too far from even Harper’s camp to come across them, barely anyone’s there and they’re really fuckin slow in the forest. We have time. Let’s go to your private spot just for a little while. We can radio the groups from there.” He offered. “Let me look after you, Tiri.”
Neytiri stared at him for a moment in the quiet debate, her expression torn a little but after a moment, her shoulders relaxed and nodded. “Okay.”
-
Quaritch sighed thoughtfully as he looked through the latest reports on his desk. Having spent the last hour signing off each one now to fully process the arrest report. The shit ton of former SecOps crew from the other base he had ankle-tagged into a portion of the MineOps facility and put to work in the mines until the new ship of cargo and passengers was available and new space to send them back. There was little space to actually lock them up so he had to put them somewhere and be of use. Selfridge wasn’t the one to waste the manpower until then but Quaritch made sure to keep security tight on the prisoners.
Each one had been stripped of rank, their pay cut to prisoner’s pay (to avoid the argument of forced or slave labour), dressed in orange to stand out as a working prisoner and a side room was converted into a large area dedicated to their shared sleeping quarters since they had little rights to private quarters that fully working members of staff had. It kept them together, which had its own concerns but, it meant they had little ways of privately talking to plan mutiny or escape.
This soon led him to discover hidden talent in Corporal Henrik’s. The soldier had easily dismantled a few attempts a few prisoners had about trying to gang up and had managed to outfight an entire group without even a bruise was something. Even after that, she was surprisingly…very good at keeping them all in line so he assigned her the night shift with the prisoner group with Z-dog and a few others.
He was very impressed at this unexpected turn of events.
In all honestly, Angela Henrick had been known to be very cocky, arrogant and very little care for animal life on Pandora. He knew she had personally killed a few animals and sent a trophy photo back to Earth a few years ago which really picked up some interest.
He had initially thought she was very shallow and his opinion had not changed on that… but she had clearly been hiding a level of skill to look lesser. He wasn’t fond of that play with him and his crew. His teams. He liked knowing where to put people based on their abilities to maximize efficiency. The fact he knew she was fucking Trina Shen was a big enough clue that she liked her secrets.
So he intended to capitalise on her presence. Her sexual relationship seemed to keep Shen occupied and on task when she was at the mech bay updating their tech or at the computers with the software development. With the Soldier’s keen senses and surprising ability to keep twenty-seven former soldiers in order every night, he wondered what else she was capable of.
If she was good enough and if her attitude was worked on, she could be put onto his team. He was still two members down since Mansk and Walker were at Frontier West for now. He just needed to make sure her talent wasn’t underestimated or overestimated so, he planned to subtly put her through some tests on the matter.
A matter for later.
Quaritch was glad to put the last report down and shove it in a draw.
With that problem more or less resolved at this base, he didn’t have to worry. Aside from Harding who had recently had her surgery for her synthetic voice box installation completed. Selfridge had overridden him on the matter since there was little evidence of that the other prisoners had at the other base and he was a little peeved that she was in Hell’s Gate for the recovery.
Still, he couldn’t do much about that but sulk but he was sure he could get his fellow Colonel back to Frontier West to be someone else’s problem…or maybe at a smaller site. The Mines? Her new voice would certainly go far.
His inbox was still blinking away, but he couldn’t see anything labelled as important or urgent so he got up. There was a lot he typically did when not dealing with bullshit admin stuff that did require his attention as Head of Security. Patrols, checking in with his team on their patrols and other heads, making sure the current headcount of people was still accounted for, the typical Head of security stuff. When that was sorted, or if he needed to vent his frustrations, then he worked himself in his gym.
He was just stepping out of the elevator when a sudden redhead appeared in front of him.
“Fuck!” He hissed stepping back and barely restraining the reflex to punch her in the face as he startled, taking a second to register who it was. “Why… are you redheads coming out of nowhere? You’re just as bad as Augustine!” he said, quickly composing himself.
“Apologise, Colonel. Dr Augustine wanted to keep you on your toes in her absence.” Captain Hale smiled but didn’t look too amused which he was thankful for at the very least. “I need a favor.”
Quaritch grunted nodding her with him towards the gym. “What sort of favor?”
“Business. Obviously. The MineOps has issued several complaints and no action has been taken. Selfridge himself hasn’t done squat and I’m afraid the men will start a strike. Again.”
Quaritch’s head tilted as his mind absorbed that information and what that meant. He could read between the lines here and what that could mean. “You mean more will defect?”
“Possible, but I’d rather get ahead before they consider it over stopping work. More soldiers will only upset my men. Your position as Selfridge’s right-hand man and head of security can do more to prove to my miners that they’re not gonna wind up dead if you help me.” Captain Hale spoke.
He let out a heavy sigh as he began to select the weights to add to his barbell. She wasn’t wrong, he was head of security but even he had some limits. MineOps was her domain and he could provide the soldiers needed to keep people in. The Mine was very out in the open; easy enough that one group had bailed and while he had patched that hole up, he knew the risks of another was great.
“I know this puts you in an awkward spot but there’s a lot of stories going around. I can’t quash them and it…makes my men nervous. Raina Kung’s death has recirculated and the soldiers are cautious about the security of the mine.” Hale continued. She reached for one of the larger weights before he could and took it from the shelf.
“Stories?” Quaritch looked at her with a frown, eyeing the weight plate. “What sort of stories? What of Kung’s death that’s got them spooked?”
Hale’s head tilted a fraction curiously. “You…don’t know how Raina Kung died?”
“It was years ago. I was in Medbay at the time. I read the report it was an accident on a patrol along the mine’s watch tower.” The scars along his right bicep had been deep from a tangle with a viperwolf and he had been sleeping off a fever and on heavy antibiotics at the time. It was an open and closed case.
Hale’s eyes narrowed. “The towers hadn’t been safety checked in a while so things that should have been checked every three months hadn’t been checked in over a year. Raina Kung died when a safety support rails came loose from the top of the watchtower. She leant on it, fell forwards and… her head got caught in the barbed wire from the fence underneath and she was…effectively hung. Wanna guess who found her?”
Quaritch groaned a little. “Major Kung…” which explained a lot more now of the woman’s shredded loyalty to the RDA. Before his son’s birth… he perhaps wouldn’t have been able to see it but now, he had had a baby, even if he wasn’t involved; to come across his body in such a gut-wrenching fashion…it was enough unease that made him feel a little sick. He was just a baby. Bright and drooling, yellow curls and always gnawing on something on the times he had seen him. His child. He couldn’t imagine him… dying.
“She would have survived the fall, a bit with broken bones if the barbed wire hadn’t been there. Lesser gravity. But, there’s more.”
“More?” He dreaded to think a little about what that meant.
“Raina Kung was…nineteen at the time of her death. She was not twenty-one.”
Quaritch took a heavy breath. “Why…is that important?”
“Because Bree Kung is still sixteen years old, Colonel. The age they got here. They’re twins.” Hale said, “Her true age has been leaked; someone found out by looking at their bones. Many soldiers and miners have kids; kids that are her age now. They empathise more with Major Kung more now and… I’m sure you can imagine how they’re feeling towards the RDA and their lack of safety procedures. No action leads to unrest. I need help. Help that doesn’t lead to defection.” She flipped the 20 kg weight plate in her fingers very casually, like it wasn’t made of cast iron.
Quaritch nodded once. “I’ll look into it.” He was gonna be bothered continuously as well, by both Hale no doubt and his work ethic.
“Good. I’ll check in with you later. Now, if you want Selfridge to act, get Raina Kung’s autopsy report and maintenance schedules for the watch tower. He can’t lie past that evidence of negligence.” Hale suggested, then yes the disk in her hands. “Here, catch.”
She tossed the weight to him as she twirled out but he grunted as he caught it straight to the sternum, knocking the wind from him in the process.

Parker liked to think he was having an OK sort of day. No word from Augustine about any run-ins with the natives and he knew—or hoped—sooner or later the blue monkeys would get curious to get in touch or that Augustine would do more and wander in and get noticed. With the new guy, he should really help her case to interest the Na’vi. Sooner that connection could be made, sooner he could have her work the natives out of that tree and sooner they could really set to work on getting the new mine open.
He was still getting some resistance from Captain Hale about MineOps’s daily quota not being reached and some survey data about the river being a problem but the way he saw it; they could easily get the river sorted by setting up a basic damn and redirecting the river away. Again, he could only get that started when the tree was empty.
But he knew those problems would be solved sooner or later.
He was content that his inbox looked well-tended to by his assistance in handling some of the lesser important data. Complaints went to them to handle unless they marked it necessary for his eyes and the news they had sent weren’t that urgent so he let them rot in his inbox for now.
Allowing him the time to play with his putter and watch in satisfaction as his ball made its way to his mug.
“Selfrge, a word.” The skinny man spun around to see Quaritch stroll in, his head high, jaw tense and looking mildly inconvenienced. A folder and a stack of papers were in the man’s arms.
“More defectors?” Parker asked, abandoning his putter to the side of the nearest desk and ignoring the annoyed titter from the desk’s attendant. He had better things to worry about.
“Not yet.”
“Then…why are you here?” Parker frowned, closing the door after him and adjusted the privacy settings of his office. “Something happened?”
“Something like that.” From the pile in his arms, he pulled out the folder and dumped it onto his desk. A Medical Report.
Parker frowned cautiously, using the end of a pen to push the folder page open before he squeaked at the sight.
A dead soldier’s face upon a gurney; her neck torn bloody with barbed wire sticking out from her flesh and her eyes clouded over white with death. Blood coated the woman’s lips and the tilt of her head was…off. Like her neck was broken. His stomach churned, dropping the lid back over and barely refrained from gagging.
“What. The. Hell!” he demanded angrily at it.
Quaritch’s face was intense as he suddenly leaned across his desk. “You’re really, really making my jobs difficult, Parker. Cutting back expenses that are necessary for the safety and well-being of our people. You keep undermining me with this bullshit because it’s getting really hard to get people to stay when all they see is this!” he thumped a hand to the file on the desk. “Our home is meant to be as safe as we can possibly make it. I am meant to keep them safe. I cannot do that if you keep cutting back corners and getting people killed. Infrastructure needs check-ups. Like the watch towers, like our fences and like our mines.” He dumped down the other pieces of paper heavily onto his desk. “I can’t keep losing my soldiers to your cut corners. So, I will be blunt when I say this; Authorise safety procedures back with MineOps, Parker. People notice the bodies that are piling up and nothing being done.” He pulled back the autopsy cover purposely. “People might actually think the jungle is safer than our home so stop making it easier to justify their reasons for defecting. Rumours are spreading so get your ass in gear.”

Despite not being that much into ygo anymore, I was shown your posts and damn, what is wrong with you? Haven't seen a "ygo fan" being that much of a jerk towards other fans in a long time. If you don't even like most ygo anime then why do you still feel the need to talk about them in a negative way and spamming the tags with non-related topics? And stop shittalking Kazuki Takahashi. You don't have to worship him or be his fan but this man is dead because he tried to help people who were in danger. Have some respect towards him at least.
I was going to rant at you at first, but I took the time to read your message properly. I noticed your Pokémon avatar and what you said about not being involved in the Yu-Gi-Oh! fandom as much anymore. I didn’t really understand at first, since Tumblr’s ask and share systems have never worked well for me. I’m more of a Facebook guy than a Tumblr or Twitter user. Tumblr is just the place where I vent my anger about Yu-Gi-Oh! since Dark Side of Dimensions (DSOD) came out. That movie ruined me even more when I was already poor and sad.
I know it’s cliché, but I’m more open to talking negatively about Takahashi—not because he means anything to me, but because I hated how his fans disrespected 5D's and didn’t care about the personal crises I was going through. I may disappear someday and never return—I promise you that, friend. I feel like I’m never coming back because I’m still in shock and need time to heal. I haven’t had the chance to relax because I’ve been broke. I don’t see this “off-topic” issue as a problem. My only purpose is to not be on the good side of things.
For me, the whole topic or off-topic discussions in the Yu-Gi-Oh! community are irrelevant. I just spam posts to get attention because I don’t find anything interesting on Tumblr, and I don’t use it much or care about it.
The reason I don’t see most of the Yu-Gi-Oh! fandom being nice to me is because life became so hard. I used to think it would be all rainbows and sunshine, but when I entered high school, everything changed. That was just a year after 5D’s ended.
When I heard the Yu-Gi-Oh! community was going insane during Zexal’s run (2011-2014), I wanted to see for myself, but the following year, I was completely turned off. I still can’t understand why people became so toxic in 2015 or why they refuse to read properly. My whole purpose now is to criticize the fandom because they only focus on relevant topics, and I can’t relate since I don’t have a fandom or followers. I don’t understand why, even today, people won’t call out the nonsense in the anime community because they’re too sensitive.
I’m struggling in real life and trying to fix my online presence, but being unemployed since December 2022 has made me hate the fandom even more. A lot of what they say isn’t even true about Yu-Gi-Oh!.
I have several reasons to believe the Yu-Gi-Oh! fandom is lying about Zexal’s reception in Japan, Konami going bankrupt because of false rumors, and Takahashi being responsible for why ARC-V failed in its original broadcast version. 4Kids gets blamed too much for adapting the show for American audiences, but they didn’t ruin the original Japanese version like people claim. I don’t believe GX was the peak of Yu-Gi-Oh! anime. It was made by people who weren’t 100% good—Junki Tategami was one of them, and he was responsible for a lot of its problems. I also don’t think 5D’s had production issues in Season 3. When Tomoika left during that season, the production issues started. The fandom sugarcoats Zexal over its ratings and animation, but they forget that Yu-Gi-Oh! was about exposing errors in writing—something GX and 5D’s did better. I have massive hate toward Kamishiro Tsunomi, who ruined ARC-V, and I hate people who refuse to admit that VRAINS’ biggest issue was its writing, not its production quality. I also loathe Dark Side of Dimensions because it focused on nonsense that didn’t give Yu-Gi-Oh! the impact it deserved. It spammed multiverse theories just for clout. I can’t agree with most fans that Battle City was the best arc—it was poorly adapted. 5D’s only had one bad arc: the Fortune Cup. Zexal II was just “meh” because it changed tones. GX Season 3 and 4 weren’t its peak; they were just poorly written arcs. I can’t stand Sevens or Go Rush either. The list is why I am having a hard time finding good people to chat with.
I hate most of the fandom for showing me just how pathetic it really is. I tried to stay calm but I guess i can't even respect that. The fact I haven't joy in my life for once is why I can't respect even myself let alone others.
The biggest complaint I have with the Yu-Gi-Oh! fandom on Twitter and Tumblr is how they accuse me of going off-topic just because I can't handle criticism—when in reality, everyone is doing cringe reviews just to push nonsense. I wasn't going to go down this path, but after losing my job and dignity, my patience finally ran out. I can't even respect anyone in real life anymore.
I wasn't born rich and can’t afford to buy tons of Yu-Gi-Oh! card boxes, yet I have to listen to Pokémon fans who spend all their time watching furry content instead of appreciating a real, macho card game anime like Yu-Gi-Oh!.
#yugioh#ygo#yugioh dm#yugioh gx#yugioh 5d's#yugioh arc v#yugioh vrains#yugioh sevens#yugioh go rush#yugioh ocg stories#all i wanted was respect in real life and a proper job but because life for me never got easy how i can even change#but these fantards are not even gonna listen than use their mental gymnastics like that Dylan YGO who i loath him the most

Fandom: Avatar the Last Airbender, Pairing: Zukka Modern AU in which Zuko is the captain of the fencing team
This chapter is up on AO3, and you can find it here (and only here for the time being - apparently it's too long to post in its entirety, so below the cut is a teaser. Enjoy!)
Sokka pushed through the partygoers, looking around with a growing sense of unease. He had stopped dancing at around midnight, before people started pairing off but after he was sure he had done enough to preserve his image and counteract any rumors. No one could call him gay after tonight! Now, though, all he wanted to do was go home and curl up in bed with Zuko. “Hey, there you guys are!” Sokka said, crashing into Aang and Toph. Toph was arm wrestling a football player while Aang cheered her on. “Have you seen Zuko around?” “Hey, Sokka!” Aang said, voice slurring a little. “I haven’t seen Sifu Hotman.” “I have,” Toph said, slamming the football player’s hand down with a triumphant grunt. She turned towards Sokka, grinning. “Toph, I’m going to assume you mean you know where he is,” Sokka said, eye twitching. “Doy,” she said. “He was over by the punch bowl earlier talking to Jet’s crew.” “Thanks,” he said, leaving them to it. Another, larger football player sat down opposite Toph while Aang chatted with the guy she had just beaten. It was all smiles and good times here. Sokka’s disquiet grew. He found Jet, Longshot, and Smellerbee playing darts in another room. Longshot narrowed his eyes at the board, holding his dart in three fingers. With a flick of his wrist, he got a bullseye. Jet and Smellerbee both groaned. “Why do we even bother with this game?” she asked. “Longshot always wins.” “Don’t tell me you’ve given up on second place,” Jet teased, getting up to take his shot. “In your dreams, Jet!” “Hey, excuse me,” Sokka called. They all turned to look at him with somewhat cold expressions, making him feel self-conscious. Or maybe he was projecting his nerves? He cleared his throat. “Uh, have you guys seen Zuko anywhere?” “Yeah, he left like an hour ago,” Smellerbee said. “He had something like six drinks and then said he was feeling sick to his stomach.” “Did he say where he was going?” Sokka asked, feeling queasy himself as his unease blossomed into full-on anxiety. “Nope,” Jet said, turning back to the dart board. “I’d assume he would go back to his dorm room, but then again, he was going pretty hard. He might’ve gone for a walk to clear his head, or broken into the gym to beat up a punching bag.” “He does that?” Sokka asked, perplexed. “Well, yeah,” Jet said, closing one eye and lining up his throw. “He may act like a bright ray of sunshine most of the time, but he’s got a dark side.” “Right,” Sokka said, pinching himself on the arm. His fingers wouldn’t stop twitching. “Thanks. See you around.” “Yep,” Jet called over his shoulder, scoring 4 points. “Dammit!” Sokka waited until he was outside and then broke into a run. Zuko’s dorm was on the other side of campus, but the gym was closer so he went there first. He passed a few drunk couples and other random students walking the quads, but brushed them off if they called out to him. When he reached the gym, he found the front doors locked. A quick circuit of the building didn’t reveal any lights on inside. Sokka tried the side door and found it ajar. He ran through the dark halls calling Zuko’s name. He wasn’t in the wrestling room, or the squash courts, or the basketball court. He wasn’t in the fencing court—but he wouldn’t have come here anyway, would he? Zuko had drilled the safety rules into all the junior club members relentlessly, he wouldn’t suddenly forget them just because he was drunk (and Sokka was trying not to think about why Zuko drank so much (even though he knew it was his fault)). Zuko also wasn’t hiding in the weight room or the pool. Sokka gave up the search and left, swinging back the track field to see if he was maybe going on that walk. Sokka’s heart was racing. Any alcohol he had drunk before had surely burned off by now, and all that was left of his party buzz was regret, anxiety, and the night air’s chill. He felt alone, and he hated it. He wanted Zuko. He wanted to make sure he was okay, and apologize, and he wanted Zuko to hold him in his arms again. He wanted to be less insecure. He wanted to be less of a coward.

When I was in High School, my crush and I got into a fight and neither of us were talking to each other. One day I was headed up the stairwell to get to my science class, when I saw them coming up from behind... I don't think they had even noticed me yet considering that they were busy talking to their friend BUT I am slow going up stairs so even if I rushed up the stairs roadrunner style they would have caught up to me, well; the little corner that connects the steps going up to the second floor and the steps heading down to the ground floor had a large open window... and I jumped out, like I literally just jumped out. I didn't even think it through, I just saw the window and my body was like "Yep, IK what to do." I landed on a bush or tree? It's too big to call a bush but too small to call a tree, landed in a squat before my feet gave out and I fall onto my knees and got two large grass stains on my jeans knee part, couldn't walk right either after that landing, I was shaky all day lol but it was a risk well calculated bc the whole thing would have been so awkward. I mean we used to be like BFFS before the rumors began and then they started and we just stopped talking without warning, we couldn't even look at each other. Our science partners, bc we were in groups of four, literally got fed up of our bullshit bc we literally refused to acknowledge the others existence... anyway, I digress...
Anyway, this whole story is a long winded way of me requesting how the brothers would react to an MC that literally just jumps out windows to avoid awkward moments, or to dodge people that want to ask them for favors, or when they straight up want to avoid someone?
And sorry about the large ass message, but thanks for letting me vent
You have a special place in my heart, window-jumping anon. Just uhhhhhhh look down next time okay? Ily
The Demon Brothers react to GN!MC jumping out of a window to avoid an awkward moment
(Mario jumping sound effect)
Lucifer
He approached you after class to ask exactly what you were snickering at your D.D.D. about during class.
Must've been real funny if you weren't listening to your lecture, huh?
"I imagine you've somehow found something worthy of laughing about in Demonology 101?"
You do not have the guts to tell him that you and Mammon were texting back and forth, abusing a new photo editing app to alter pictures of the eldest himself.
I mean, take a wild guess about how he’d react to seeing how big you edited his head to be-
The avatar of pride lets his eyes pierce into you, like he's trying to stare a hole through your blanket of "uh"s and "um"s,
You don't exactly see a way out of this one, but you can NOT let Lucifer see your photo gallery.
So you glance to your left to the open classroom window, and do the only thing you can think of: you jump.
Luckily you're on the ground floor so you??? really didn't have to jump so dramatically. But the fact that you yeeted yourself into a bush JUST to escape has left Lucifer speechless.
Honestly? He so impressed with your dedication that he's not gonna stop you. Besides, he's gonna see you back at home anyway so-
Also thinks you might be hanging around Mammon too much because that 100% seems like a stunt he’d pull.
Mammon
GIVE GOLDIE BACK RIGHT NOW
He KNOWS Lucifer told you to bring the credit card to him, and he demands to know where it's hidden! He's positive you know where it is!
But you don't really though?? You just brought the card to him like you were asked. If anything, you're the victim here!
But Mammon isn't having that. The avatar of greed is circling around you like an angry cat, patting you all over like airport security to see if you've got his beloved card.
"Where is it, huh?! Ya really think you can steal from THE Mammon?! Even if Lucifer told ya to, who do ya think you are?!"
When he has confirmed that you don't in fact have his previous Goldie, he's now cornering you up against a wall.
If looks could kill, you would've exploded into a fine powder
And you feel like your mental strength is about to do just that. So what do you do after you notices the slightest of breezes caress your face?
You jump outta that open window, before Mammon can even finish his "Wh- Oi! What're ya-"
Even though you just face planted into the garden, you're up on your feet and making a mad dash for somewhere that wasn't here.
Mammon lets you run for ten while seconds before he's hopping out after you. You think you can outfox the Great Mammon?! Think again!!!
Levi
You... weren't interested in this movie in the slightest, but you didn't have the heart to tell Levi that. Especially not after he’d begged/harassed you for the past week about watching it with him!
Reluctantly you agreed, and now you were suffering,,,But Levi was ecstatic! This movie was a classic! Sure it was an old one and the acting was a little bad, but you could overlook that if you watched it with your heart, not your eyes!
According to Levi.
You managed to keep your eyes open for the grueling one and a half hour movie, enduring every corny line of bad acting, horrible CGI, and lame sound effects straight out of a 90s super hero movie, and now the hell was finally over...
Or so you though, until Levi followed that up by immediately pulling out a cosplay outfit worn by one of the supporting characters in the show.
Funny how it seemed specifically tailored to your measurements. Even funnier how Levi was looking at you with those damned eyes.
You knew what he wanted without him even having to say it. But one look at the gaudy outfit he presented to you made your heart burn with a sudden indescribable urge.... to escape.
Honestly you caught him so off guard by suddenly getting up and sprinting out of the room, that he makes a sound that's pretty much the noise equivalent of "?!?!?!?!?!?"
He watches you run down to the end of the hall, throw the window open, and fuckin JUMP. Pretty sure he just witnessed your death??
Also this kinda solidified his 'gross otaku' mentality, seeing as you literally jumped out of a window to get out of cosplaying with him. A simple no would've sufficed, MC.......,.,,..,,,
Hey gamers... can we get an F in the chat? 😔✌️💦
Satan
Satan lent you a book to read last week that he was sure you'd be interested in! He found it pretty interesting himself, so he wants to see if you'd like it as much as he did.
That being said, you don't have the heart to tell him that you,,, didn't read any of it. Well you kind of did, if the cover counts for anything.
You doubt he would accept that as an answer, considering how you told him how much you appreciated receiving the book, and how you'd definitely read it and let him know how it was.
So now, Satan had come into your room with two cups of tea, ready to settle down and have a nice, long talk about your thoughts on the riveting plot that you promised you would indulge in.
"I'm really glad you decided to read it. I found that the protagonist reminded me a lot like you. I'd like to know what you thought about it."
Satan sets down the tea cups, and one sip tells you that he brewed it exactly the way you like.
His expression is eager and warm as he waits for you to begin gushing about just how deeply the story touched you... how absolutely moved you are by the sheer majesty that was the book he lent you...
Okay yeah, you're sweating bullets. You can't imagine how the sparkly eyed avatar of wrath would react to learning that you chose the company of your D.D.D. over Satan's book.
You don't have such an ice cold hard that you can just crush this book nerds dreams like that! And every time you look at his expectant face, the weight of your crimes weigh heavier on you until... you break.
Satan watches in shock and awe as you almost perfectly reenact the big scene where the main character leaps out of the window of a building rigged to explode, before making their escape. And you did just that.
Wow.. he never thought you could be so moved by a story, but he completely understands...
Asmo
How many outfits, Asmo. HOW MANY OUTFTITS WILL IT TAKE TO APPEASE YOU?
He's made you model TWELVE outfits so far, and you swear if you see another ascot, you're gonna lose your mind.
Asmodeus doesn't seem to notice the way the light slowly fades from your eyes, because he's pulling out outfit number thirteen with that cheery smile of his.
"Isn't this one absolutely adorable? Look, this part will look lovely around your waist! This part here hugs your body in all the right places, and this-"
You can't do it. You've gotta get out of here. You'd love to stand around and get mild rug burn from trying on a billion different clothes, but-
Actually no you wouldn't.
You DID promise Asmo you'd hang out with him today, but this wasn't really your idea of a good time.
"-Oooh, just thinking about it makes me want to eat you up~! Here, put it on for me, will you? I'll give you a kiss as a reward!"
You would do no such thing.
You make a mad dash for his ornate window and push it open. He has no time to stop you as he helplessly watches you vault yourself out like the room was on fire.
"MC?! Wh-where are you going?? Come back here! Grass stains are impossible to get out of that fabric!!!"
Beel
He means well. I swear he does. It's just that Beel can be a little... overbearing when he's worried about you. He cares, okay?
But he hasn't seen you eat anything all day! You tell him it's because you've got a stomach ache from who knows what, and you promise you've had little snacks here and there to keep from starving, but he can't accept that!
Eating is important, and you need it to survive. So Beelzebub was currently trying to nudge your mouth open with a pizza slice, while you vehemently refused. "Just one bite. And then another after that. You have to eat, or you'll go hungry... and I don't want that."
Beel knows the true pain of being hungry, and he’d never wish that on you! So just forget about your stomach ache for two seconds and open up-
Not that you really can. The aroma of that pizza was not sitting well on your stomach, and you were pretty sure you needed a fast escape or you'd risk losing your lunch. Greasy foods didn't exactly mix well with sour stomachs...
Beel still won't let up. He has a strong hand planted firmly on the small of your back, as if trying to prevent you from leaning back any further in your attempt to escape the pizza.
"If you eat this, I'll treat you to dessert at Madam Screams," he says, as if bribing your refusal of food USING food will somehow work out.
You can't break his heart, but you seriously can't eat that! Your head is spinning, thoughts racing, face becoming greasier and greasier from the pizza pressed against it, and-
You snap. In a sudden burst of strength you break free from Beel's grasp, and sprint toward the nearest window. All you see is your chance for freedom, and you're taking it.
You leap out and tumble into the ground, all while Beelzebub wonders what?? Just happened???? Did you really hate pizza that much...?
He never knew you were such a picky eater... To think you'd go so far as to jump out of the window though...
Belphie
You thought it was cute at first, when Belphegor wanted you to join him for his naps. And you didn't mind much. It was the weekend, you were tired, and he makes a pretty good body pillow.
But you didn't realize he planned for this to become an everyday thing. The youngest might not act it, but he sure could be spoiled.
But seriously, if you slept any longer, you might never have a normal sleep schedule again! It never occurred to you just how often Belphie sleeps.
He's definitely not human, because there's no way you can keep up with that, and maintain a normal lifestyle.
But the way he quietly, gently grabs your sleeve to cue your next nap session makes your heart clench. Why was it so damned hard to say no to this gremlin??
You were trying your best though, but the words always seemed to get caught in your throat. Belphie picked apart your excuses, doing everything in his power to take you back to the attic.
"You can study when you wake up." "Mammon wants to go shopping? Reschedule." "Lucifer told you not to be late to the board meeting? Just hide."
You're starting to get sucked into the sleepy lull of his voice, and it feels like your entire body is becoming heavy with fatigue. But no.... you resist!
Since there's no escaping this through words, you have to think fast. Fortunately, your fast thinking has led to an amazing solution!
Jump out of the window, baby
Belphie is just??? Did you fuckin???? Are your legs okay??????????????
He probably stops asking you to nap with him for a while, since you're willing to almost break your legs just to get out of it. You're gonna make him have weird dreams....

Let Them Talk
Corpse Husband x Reader (Female) ft. Sykkuno
Warnings: Swearing, Jealousy
Genre: Fluff, a bit of Angst
Summary: We can all agree Among Us is a fun game on its own but what makes it ten times better is playing it with the right company. Y/N could agree 100% Being a streamer herself, she loves playing with the streamer gang that includes her boyfriend and best friend. But, what happens when her boyfriend starts doubting her feelings for him due to her close relationship with her best friend.
Requested by @cheetoscat . Thank you so much for your request! Sorry it took so long to write, I hope the final product is worth the wait. Enjoy! Love, Vy ❤
Y/AU/N - Your Among Us Name
I settle in my gaming chair, adjusting my webcam one last time before joining the Among Us lobby with my friends.
“Hi everyone!“ I say into the mic, a smile plastering itself on my face. Discord is a magical thing, man. It’s so easy to forget that the people you are talking to aren’t around you or within arm’s reach. You could be separated by miles and miles of land or - in our case - oceans as well. Distance becomes negligible when you hear your friends’ voices, their laughter; when you have a good time together despite being each behind a screen, often times alone.
Well, I’m one of those lucky ones that isn’t alone. No one knows that, though. Everyone thinks I’m a single, self-employed girl that’s straight out of college. And they are 90% right. Only thing is - I’m not single. That would be a shocker in and of itself, but revealing who’s changed my relationship status would be a bomb with a whole new intensity.
Speaking of my significant other who shall remain unnamed - just kidding, it’s Corpse - his form materializes in the doorway of my recording room. I give him a hand signal the camera isn’t able to capture, alerting him of the fact that my mic is on. He replies by blowing me a kiss and walking off down the hall to his recording room where he’ll be stationed for the next three or so hours.
I owe this relationship to my best friend Sykkuno. I’m a pretty new and not very well known on the platform, however, thanks to him I haven’t only obtained a boyfriend, but a following of a little over million subscribers as well.
It all started with an invitation to fill a spot in the Among Us lobby him and his friends had created. It took him quite a bit to convince me to join, but I eventually caved and agreed. Suddenly, there I was. In a Discord call, in an Among Us lobby with some of the most well-known names on this platform. I’m talking YouTube legends. I was that puppy playing with the big dogs. The newbie tagging along with the big leagues. Or at least that’s how I felt until we all started vibing - talking and teasing each other as though we’ve known each other for years and not minutes.
When I joined the call, Corpse wasn’t present. After everyone else introduced themselves, Sykkuno informed me that we were waiting for Corpse to return. The name sounded really cool to me and I was genuinely very excited to meet this Corpse guy.
And then, out of the blue - no prep, no warning...
“Did you get someone to fill the spot? Oh- Hello, Y/AU/N.“
…he started talking and he had me star-struck. Apparently, he also had me a blabbering mess cause I remember blurting out: “Whoa, who’s this guy speaking in bold and underlined at the same time?”
The entire lobby, including Corpse, laughed. Sean, or Jack like they called him most often, answered my question, “That is the voice of God, Y/N. Its source is named Corpse, though.”
Heat spread from the bottom of my neck to the tips of my ears. I was mortified by my own stupidity. I was well aware they couldn’t see me and I was incredibly thankful for that, but I simply could not get myself to open my eyes. “I’m so sorry.” I said through nervous laughter.
“No, no, I like that description. Bold and underlined at the same time, huh?“ His voice sounded even more pleasant when it had that teasing, mischievous note to it. That thought popping up in my head only made things worse for my self-esteem and only made me more embarrassed, causing me to hide my face in my hands. “You sure it’s not in Italics as well?“
His question got a weak laugh out of me. “Nope, definitely not. Nothing Italic about it.“
Yes, I don’t even know how some terrible jokes about MS Word fonts got me as far as a romantic relationship, but they did! We’ve been living together for quite some time now, dating for even longer - hiding it just as long. It’s not that we have been actively trying to hide it or something, we just wanted to see how long it would take someone to become sus of us. When we realized no one would notice, we decided that if any rumors about us started, or even fans shipping us, we’d come clean. That hasn’t happened either, so we haven’t had the proper chance to address our relationship and neither of us minds.
At this point, I’m honestly afraid of revealing it to the gaming squad. Sykkuno especially. He’s my best friend, after all. I can see him being hurt by the fact that I kept a secret so big even from him. The last thing I wanna do is hurt my best friend but it’s already too late for that, it’s inevitable.
“Y/N have you looked at Twitter today?“ Rae, another streamer I’ve become close with over the months, says urgently.
Overlooking the tension in her words, I answer: “Nope, haven’t had the time. Why? What’s up?“
Before Rae can say anything else, Sykkuno joins the conversation, his voice somehow even more urgent than Rae’s. “It’s nothing, Y/N. If you see it, just don’t let it bother you, ok?”
Hearing such a tone from Rae isn’t unusual, but hearing it from Sykkuno is completely different and a lot more worrisome. “Well if it has the potential of bothering me it can’t be nothing. What’s going on?”
Just then, my phone dings with two notifications. I check to see they are messages from Rae.
“I sent you screenshots. Sorry, Sykkuno. She has to know in order to address it and defuse it as well. I know better than anyone how fast these rumors can spread, especially if no one reacts to them.“ She says, her tone barely apologetic at all.
I open the screenshots she has sent me and I find myself frozen in shock. Some old pictures of Sykkuno and I have been posted on Twitter by some random user. These pictures have started an entire thread of suspicions surrounding our relationship.
The pictures in question are from a New Year’s Eve party a mutual friend of ours held two years ago. Sure, in the pictures we are a lot closer than what would be considered a platonic proximity. And yes one of the pictures is of me kissing his cheek. Yes we were both a bit tipsy. I acknowledge all those things and yet none of them are concrete reasons for these rumors to have started piling.
“This is silly.“ I finally say after maybe five minutes of silence on my end. ”This is absolutely ridiculous! And why are people so serious about it as well? Actual, important matters get discussed more nonchalantly than the potential relationship between two online personalities! What is this world we live in?“ I know I shouldn’t let these rumors get to me like this, especially not on camera. Still, I can’t help it. I feel it’s so unfair to Corpse. He has to put up with this as well and it’s by no means easy for him. I’ve been shipped with people from our group in the past and he always took those rumors to heart despite acting like he didn’t care. Neither of us should get worked up, but him getting upset about them creates a domino effect with my emotions - causing me to be hit just as hard as him, in some cases harder.
Rumors of the past aside, this one is the worst by far. Mostly cause even Corpse himself suspected something between Sykkuno and I at the very beginning, when we were still acquaintances, barely crossing into the realm of friends.
I pull up Twitter to look for the whole thread, barely sparing my stream chat a glance in the process. It seems pretty split - those who agree with me and those who think Sykkuno and I make ‘such an adorable couple’. The thread is ridiculously long, and if we take into account that it was only started approximately five hours ago, you can either view it as impressive, amusing or sad. Why sad? Because someone has dedicated so much time and effort into fueling the fire of a weakly supported theory.
I love Sykkuno with all my heart. Everyone knows that - fandom, streamer squad, Corpse and Sykkuno included. I love too much and too platonically to ever even dream of having a romantic connection with him. I thought that was more than obvious, but people are either blind here, or just grasping at straws. One thing’s for certain - they’re stepping on a nerve.
“Hey where’s Corpse? Did he disconnect?” Felix asks, gaining my full attention. My eyes dart to the monitor, searching through the little avatars in a desperate search for the one of my boyfriend. It’s nowhere to be found.
“He just messaged me saying his connection is unstable but he might join us later.“ Rae says, “You guys can invite someone to fill...“
“Bathroom break.“ I interrupt, not waiting for a response before shutting my mic off, putting the ‘BRB‘ graphic on my stream and yanking the headset off. I basically run down the hall to Corpse’s recording room, my heart pounding like a bass drum.
“Corpse?!“ I call out to him, one hand already on the doorknob. When five seconds pass by without a response, I barge in.
Inside, I find his usual spot on the gaming chair empty and his slumped figure seated on his bed.
“Corpse?“ I try again, watching for even the tiniest change of body language. He remains still as a statue, not bothering to look up at me either.
His hands are gripping the edge of the mattress, his head hanging low. His eyes are covered by the short curtain of his dark messy curls. I can’t gauge much. Is he angry? Is he sad? Both? How should I approach the situation?
Before I find the answer to any of those questions, I am kneeling in front of him, our height difference eliminated. I gently pry his hands off the mattress and take them in mine, holding them firmly but tenderly. With one hand I reach up to tilt his head so his eyes can meet mine. He complies, his tear-filled brown orbs meeting mine. Those tears have the same effect on me as fifty sharp knives stabbing into my chest. These tears focus their attack straight on my heart, tearing it to pieces.
“Baby....“
He cuts me off, “Why is it always someone else, huh? Do they deem me not worthy of being with you? Do they think you deserve better?” His voice wavers, “Well, they might be right. They are correct and there’s little I can do to prove them wrong. They mean you well, Y/N - pairing you with guys better than me. Those are some loyal fans you’ve got. They only want what’s best for you. And so do I. If ‘best’ is being with someone else then...”
It’s my turn to cut him off. I put an end to his nonsense ramble that’s slowly killing me by pressing my finger against his lips. The sternness of my gaze is beyond me as I get up and walk over to his computer setup. I put on his headset and hop into the call as well as the lobby with his avatar.
“Hey Corpse’s back!” Toast says, “Good to have you back buddy.”
“No, not Corpse.” I say in a casual, nonchalant voice.
“Wait, wha-“ Sean’s voice shows just how confused he is, representing the confusion of the entire lobby actually.
“I know all of you are streaming so this message will be heard by several different audiences so I’m gonna make myself perfectly clear.“ I take a deep breath, “Sykkuno and I aren’t dating. He’s a lovely guy and he deserves to find a girl who will treat him right. That girl isn’t and won’t be me though. I am already treating someone right. Someone who treats me more than right as well. An amazing person. A man-child with a heart of gold. You know him, to a certain extent. He goes by the name of Corpse Husband, but I prefer to call him ‘Love of my life’. Thank you for your time and attention, goodbye.“
I exit the call and turn around to find a stunned Copse looking at me.
“That was meant for you just as much.“ I say with a fake strict attitude, one hand on my hip the other rested on his desk behind me, “Were you listening?“
Within milliseconds, he’s on his feet standing directly in front of me, his lips inches away from mine. “I heard and memorized every word. But...” he pauses for a moment, “I think you have no idea how big of a chaos you just created.”
I smile mischievously, “We’ll worry about that later. For now...” I close the gap between us, connecting our lips in a sweet and passionate kiss.

Could u do another "I'm not (blank) enough" requests but instead of MC saying something negative it'd be the brothers saying they aren't enough at something?
This was an interesting request, thanks Anon! I'm sorry it took me a while to get through it but I really had to dig deep to figure out what these arrogant, all powerful demons could feel insecure about.
Here is my other piece Anon is referencing: "I'm Not _______ Enough."
I changed it up a bit from the original but I hope you like it! Also I got carried away and this got pretty long so the other brothers are under the cut lol.
"Am I _______ Enough?"
Belphegor
“Am I reliable enough?”
You had woken up from your nap to his words, and asked “What?” While wiping the sleep from your eyes.
“Can you depend on me?” He reworded the question but didn’t make eye contact.
“Belphie?” You guided his face to look at yours.
“Actually never mind,” he backed out of the conversation and the bed.
“Wait,” You sat up and pushed out of the bed too, already missing the warmth.
Once in front of him, you stated, “You’re reliable!”
His blush was slight but you caught it before he amended, “I know that I’m not always hanging off you like Mammon or Asmo-“
“That’s ok!” You interrupted, “Sorry,” you quickly apologized when he gave you a look.
“But I know that with your sin, it gets physically uncomfortable to be awake for long periods like how Beel gets after not getting enough food. I know if I ever needed you,” you took his hand, “you’d be there.”
He took a moment to let the scene sink in before squeezing your hand, giggling, and roughing up your hair, “That’s right, bed head,” He teased.
“Yours isn’t any better!” You moved to do the same to him but he dodged.
The two of you continued to play fight but didn’t let go of the other's hand. Belphie seemed lightened by your confirmation and you enjoyed the rare bout of playful activity with the youngest.
Beelzebub
“Am I warm enough?”
“Heck yeah! You’re like a space heater!”
He laughed, “Thanks, MC.” But his smile faded too quickly.
“Oh, I’m sorry, did I misunderstand?” You went from sitting across from him to sitting next to him at the table, “Do you not want to be a space heater?”
That got him smiling again, “No, that’s not it, I guess I meant warm like friendly?”
“Well then it’s a resounding yes, you’re super friendly Beel!” You gave his back a rub and a pat for punctuation.
“Oh… ok,” he went back to his snack which you assumed he would but his response wasn’t sitting right with you.
“Do you not believe me?” You looked up at him with your best puppy dog pout.
Congrats, your cuteness made the Avatar of Gluttony choke! He coughed and pounded on his chest with a closed fist.
You offered your apology and he waved it off as he took some gulps of his drink.
“No I do believe you MC.” He started covering your hand on the table with his and before your hand was completely enveloped he stopped.
“What is it then?” You prodded.
“Just a teammate commented on how I made chills run down his spine with just my stare.”
“Ah, I think Asmo would know that as a resting b*tch face,” you scratched your chin sagely
He frowned, “I can’t do anything about that, that's just how my face is.”
“Exactly! So don’t stress it, he’s still your teammate and friend, right?”
“Yeah, that’s true,” Beel mulled it over and you could practically see the weight of it rise off his shoulders as he sat up straighter and accepted it.
“There he is,” you thought as he exuded an easy confidence but your thoughts were disrupted when he pulled you into an embrace. He whispered near your ear, “Thanks.”
“Who could think this wasn’t warm?” You thought as you snuggled into his hold.
Asmodeus
“Am I attentive enough?”
“What brought that up?” You questioned looking up from your spot on his bed. It wasn’t like Asmo to show his insecurities.
“Just some gossip going around,” He tried to minimize the claims and continued fussing with his hair.
“Oh, well, you know how gossip gets, you just have to ignore it and it’ll go away,” you repeated the same advice he had given you when you first arrived in the Devildom and there were vicious rumors and tabloid articles written about the exchange program participants.
“But am I?!”
The hurt look on his face paired with the desperation in his question made it plainly obvious this meant more to him than he wanted to let on.
“Of course-”
Asmo cut you off, “MC, you have to be deadly honest right now.”
“You’re attentive Asmo,” You confirmed without a shadow of a doubt.
He chewed his lip and cheek debating the statement.
You got up from the bed and came to stand in front of Asmo. You cupped the cheek he was chewing on and he stopped.
With a small nudge you made him swivel to look back in the mirror, “What were the rumors saying?” Your own curiosity running wild, what could bring Asmo to this?
Surprisingly Asmo looked away from the reflection of you two to answer in a small voice, “That if I didn’t pay attention to you, they’d sweep in and take you for themselves.”
That stunned you for a second, you didn’t think it would involve you. “Well first of all, I don’t even know them, how are they going to even get close to me at this point?”
Asmo considered this, you were always with him or one of his brothers.
“Second, you’re always paying attention to me, you probably know my facial expressions better than I do,” you laughed and he couldn’t help a small snort of his own.
“Third, even on days when you’re stressed, or excited about a new make-up launch and your energy is elsewhere, you always,” you squeezed his arm for emphasis, “ALWAYS check in on me.”
Asmo bit his lip once more but this time holding back a smile. He clearly couldn’t hold it back when he locked you in a hug and squealed your name.
Satan
“Am I patient enough?”
You knew this was something that he consciously worked on so you quickly confirmed, “Yes,” then turned the page of your book.
He was a little shocked at your quick resolution and not totally satisfied. He closed his book and asked, “There was never a time when you think I couldn’t have been more patient?”
“Well sure, but I think that about myself too.”
That was also surprising to Satan, “How? You’re even more patient than me.”
“I’m only human,” You shrugged, as you closed your own book, recognizing this was going to be more of a discussion.
“And I’m only demon?” Satan returned sarcastically. He did not appreciate the turn of phrase.
“Sorry, I meant, I’m not perfect, no one is. You can’t hold yourself to an impossible standard because you’ll only be destined to be disappointed when you don’t live up to it.” You paused for the idea to settle with him.
He contemplated the sentiment.
“The way I see it,” you continued, “As long as you’re trying to do better then that’s what matters.”
Satan weighed that thought as well.
“And there is an even bigger secret with patience that not a lot of people know,” you baited.
Satan asked “And what’s that?” Hook, line, and sinker.
“I don’t know if you’re ready,” you taunted and reopened your book. If there was one thing you knew you could entice Satan with, it was some kind of hidden knowledge.
He moved across the room and closed your book in your hand for you.
You looked up at him looming over you with a sweet smile.
He smiled back at you, knowing you were playing with him. “And what’s that?” He repeated but you knew it was more of a command this time.
“Fine, I’ll share the secret with you so listen well.”
He started to nod before you caught his face in your hands. His eyebrows shot up to wordlessly question your action but didn’t break the silence, his proof he was listening.
“People don’t always realize that the most important part of patience is…” you paused and savored the interest in Satan’s eyes, “that you have to afford yourself the same patience you give to others.”
His brows furrowed trying to unravel the words in his mind.
While he did so, you pulled his head down slightly so you could give him a quick kiss on the forehead. Then pat his cheek and released him.
He took a step back, almost in a daze, you certainly gave him something to think about.
Leviathan
“Am I supportive enough?”
You looked up from the manga you were reading and Levi was staring down at the manga in his hand. His hands were holding the sides tightly as he waited for your response.
“How so?” You prompted.
“L-like this,” Levi pushed the manga towards you. You scanned the panels, the scene being depicted looked like it was one where the love interest was cheering on the main character while they were participating in a sports festival.
“Well you’re not like this,” you had to be honest and you could see he was already starting to sulk, “but you’re supportive in your own way.”
He tsked and took the manga back.
“Levi, I didn’t mean to hurt your feelings,” you apologized.
“It’s fine,” Levi turned the page, “I know I’m a gross otaku shut in.”
“No, stop.” You closed the manga, you dug this hole so it was time to climb out.
He listened and looked over at you, annoyed.
“You’re supportive Levi. There are different ways to be supportive!”
He rolled his eyes, not believing you.
Alright this guy wants to play hardball, you could play with the best of them. “You always make sure that I’ve eaten and slept, even if you haven’t. For as long as we’ve had a pact, you’ve always come to my defense even though I know you hate confrontation. When I find a new show, game or book that I’m interested in, you always take the time to learn about it yourself so I can talk to someone about it.”
By the end, Levi’s face was red, his ears were red, you could swear his hands were even shaking a little bit.
“So sure, you’re not yelling your support from the roof of the House of Lamentation like that character,” you took one of his hands and his eyes darted between your face and your interlaced hands, “but I appreciate your quiet kind of support.”
Leviathan.exe has stopped working. It took a solid 5 minutes to regain his voice.
“M-M-MC!” he whined, “That’s so embarrassing!” He slumped down to hide his face but didn’t dare remove his hand from yours.
“Was it super effective?” You laughed at your joke.
He groaned from his drooped state but he squeezed your hand and you knew that it was.
Mammon
“Am I humble enough?”
At first, you have to bite your tongue to keep from outright laughing.
Surely the demon who regards himself as “The Great Mammon” would see the irony in asking this.
But he was quiet and reflective, a stark contrast to his usual self.
You sat down next to him on the sofa in the living room, with a pat on his back you opted to offer what you thought he wanted to hear, “Sure you are buddy.”
“Are ya messing with me?” of all times for Mammon to be observant.
You were as bad a liar as he was so when you looked away and scratched your cheek instead of answering Mammon knew you were lying.
He sighed and his shoulders dropped as he caught his head in his hands.
“Well you don’t have to be humble!” You defended, feeling bad for your white lie earlier.
He peeked up at you and you took the opportunity to stand up in front of him, “You’re like the third strongest demon in all of Devildom! You should be proud of that!”
He rolled his eyes but you could see a shadow of a smile play on his lips.
“Not only are you strong but you’re very caring, not only to your brothers but to me too,” you suggested and on queue Mammon flushed.
“I’m not,” he tried to deny.
“Oh that’s not true. Remember when Belphie ruined that painting and you took the fall for it?”
His eyes opened wide in shock, “How did you-”
“Or that time when I was sick and you took such good care of me?” You added in a sing-song tone.
“Shuddup!” Mammon was now standing and placed a hand over your mouth as he looked around for his brothers. He looked back at you, “I got a reputation to uphold, y’know.”
After a muffled laugh, you pulled his hand away, “What I’m saying is you don’t have to be modest.”
“Yeah I guess when you put it that way,” He rubbed the back of his head considering.
“So what’s on the agenda for the day for The Great Mammon?”
He squinted his eyes at your teasing tone but smirked and grabbed your hand to drag you along. You went willingly with a snicker.
Lucifer
“Am I compassionate enough?”
He didn’t look up from the paperwork he was reviewing when he posed the question to you.
At first you tilted your head and wondered if he was even addressing you.
When he did finally look up, you knew he was waiting for your answer.
“Yeah, I think so?” You didn’t mean to phrase it as a question but were more concerned with how this even came up.
“You think so?” Lucifer repeated incredulously.
“Yes,” you reinforced, “where’s this coming from?” You were taking a risk in questioning Lucifer, there was probably a 50/50 chance he would actually answer.
It was rare that he would even voice a question about his character.
He frowned and went back to his paperwork. You figured that was the end of the conversation, this being the 50% of the time that he would not answer. You went back to perusing his record collection to find something to play.
“Simeon mentioned how ruthless I’ve become.”
You looked back over at Lucifer. He looked more tired than he did just a moment ago. Simeon’s comment must have been wearing on him.
You picked a record you knew he liked and put it on before walking over to his desk.
He sighed, put down his pen and rubbed his eyes.
You leaned against the desk with your arms crossed and he faced you, the weariness even more apparent up close.
“Can I be honest with you?” you asked.
He grimaced, already thinking the worst but nodded.
“I think your ruthlessness comes from a compassionate place.”
From his one raised eyebrow, you could tell that wasn’t what he was expecting and he was waiting for your explanation.
“For example,” you began, “you care about your brothers, so when you punish them, it’s for their own good or to save them from a worse fate. You might not admit this one, but you’ve become sympathetic to Diavolo’s moods and disposition and so acting in accordance with how it will reflect on him and enforcing those standards has become second nature, hasn’t it?” He looked away.
You knew he wouldn’t answer that so you looked away yourself and continued, “You may have at first picked me as a candidate for the exchange program because of my connection to Lilith and housed me at the request of Diavolo,” you laughed at what you were about to say for the first time out loud, “but since getting to know me, I like to think that you’ve had a change of heart and genuinely care about my well-being despite those factors.”
There was a moment of silence and you felt your face heat up, nervous that maybe you overestimated your importance.
Before you could look back at him, he had stood up and enclosed you in a hug. You smiled, uncrossed your arms and hugged him back.
He was humming along with the song so you made one more bold choice and started swaying in time with the rhythm. He chuckled, shifted to hold one of your hands, and properly led you in a dance around the room.
You hoped his light footsteps were a reflection of how light his heart was feeling.
All signs of the weariness from moments ago were completely gone.

scary dog privileges
Has anyone else seen that tik tok trend where it's someone going for a walk and it says "using my scary dog privileges to walk alone" and then the camera shows a badass person walking behind them? You get where I'm going with this right?
Lucifer
absolute gentleman on a walk.
The real problem is getting him to step away from work and go on a walk
He'll give in with enough pushing deep down he does know he needs the break
Man emits scary dog vibes. You will be perfectly safe. (And if not just brig cerberus next time. )
Mammon
if you want someone to talk to u picked the right brother
Really loves getting out of the house and having a conversation with someone who isn't calling him a scumbag
It's 50/50 wether u ask him to go for a walk or if he asks u if you wanna wonder around for a bit
No scary dog privileges here. He's like a yellow lab at best.
be aware of running into people he owes money to. Your walk will end up a sprint
Leviathan
good luck trying to get him to leave his room lmao
Your best chance is to bribe him with something anime related
If u do manage to get him out try to avoid crowded areas.
Let him talk about his favorite obsessions. It will make him feel better about being out in the open
No scary dog privileges. But it's also pretty unlikely someone with directly threaten the Admiral of the navy or whatever.
Satan
another gentlemen to walk with.
That is until there is a cat. That cat will be petted. It is not optional. He will immediately leave your side. (Which is fair if you're not petting the cat too why are you even here?)
Scary dog privilege. You will be safe walking with him. Nobody wants to fuck with the avatar of wrath after all.
Asmodeus
did you want someone who will talk you ear off? Because you'll come home knowing every rumor about every demon.
he will try to turn your walk onto a shopping spree. But he'll buy you stuff too dont worry.
he will hold your hand. It's not optional. We'll if it really makes you uncomfortable he won't but on instinct he's just constantly reaching for your hand. He likes having contact.
You don't have scary dog privileges exactly but you do have the most beautiful person in the Devildom which he argues is much better.
Beelzebub
he really likes going on walks. He knows you can't really keep up on his runs so this is the next best thing
He will want to stop for snacks occasionally. So your walk might turn into a picnic depending on how long it is
Full scary dog privileges. He's a big boy that shit is intimidating.
Belphegor
have you ever tried to walk a cat? Yeah that's what walking with Belphie is like.
Yall are going to stop every few minutes so he can rest because He's complaining about his feet hurting fuckin whiney bitch boy loves complaining
Honestly you'll probably have to just carry him home because hes too tired to walk.
So no scary dog vibes here. More like lazy cat vibes.
Though if anyone does cause any problems on the walk he is wide awake so don't worry about being safe.
#obey me#obey me shall we date#obey me headcanons#obey me lucifer#obey me mammon#obey me leviathan#obey me satan#obey me asmodeus#obey me beelzebub#obey me belphegor#i went on a walk with my friend yesterday thats actually what caused this.#he was walking his cat and also i got to pet a different cat. it was great

Azula always “lies”
image from @nothing-more-than-hot-leaf-juice
As a more recent fan of ATLA I have fallen in love with Zuko’s character. One thing that has interested me spacifically is the mantra “Azula always lies”. Azula is shown to be a manipulative character, but the instances where he says it Azula doesn’t seem like she is lying.
While I have issues with Azulon ordering Zuko’s death I want to talk about Azula telling Zuko that Ozai was going to kill him.
Right after she says those lines and she is dragged out of the room by Ursa, Zuko says the famous lines “Azula always lies”. Yet she wasn’t. It is clear from how Ozai treats Zuko to the very reaction of Ursa that it was a very real possibility.
That is a common thread with Azula and Zuko’s interactions. When Azula is lying Zuko thinks she is telling the truth and when she is telling the truth he think she is lying. This all comes down to a part of characterization in story telling.
The lie your character believes.
All the main characters have one. Aang’s is “that he can run away and deny his responsibilities”, Katara’s is “that the Fire Nation is evil”, Sokka’s is “women can’t fight and that he isn’t special or needed”, Toph’s is “being by herself is better than having people that care about her”, and Zuko’s is “that is father loves him and the Fire Nation is the greatest nation” (these are just their veague beliefs).
Now I am going to take quotes from Azula and bold the lies and italicize the truths that she says.
ATLA: Book 2 Water - The Avatar State
Azula: Hmmm ... must be a family trait. Both of you so quick to get to the point. [Breaks the shell she was holding with her fingertips, leaving Iroh angry.] I've come with a message from home. Father's changed his mind. Family is suddenly very important to him. He's heard rumors of plans to overthrow him; treacherous plots. Family are the only ones you can really trust. [Pauses briefly.] Father regrets your banishment. He wants you home. [Silence.] Did you hear me? You should be happy. Excited. Grateful. I just gave you great news.
Iroh: I'm sure your brother simply needs a moment.
Azula: [Furiously.] Don't interrupt, Uncle! [To Zuko.] I still haven't heard my thank you. [Annoyed.] I'm not a messenger. I didn't have to come all this way.
Zuko: [Surprised.] Father regrets? He ... wants me back?
ATLA: Book 2 Water - Zuko Alone
Azula: [Sing-songy.] Dad's going to kill you! [Seriously.] Really, he is.
Zuko: Ha-ha, Azula. Nice try.
ATLA: Book 2 Water - Crossroads of Destiny
Azula: Why don't you let him decide, Uncle? [To Zuko.] I need you, Zuko. I've plotted every move of this day, [Makes a fist.] this glorious day in Fire Nation history, and the only way we win is together. At the end of this day, you will have your honor back. You will have Father's love. You will have everything you want.
ATLA: Book 3 Fire - The Awakening
Azula: [Getting out of bed.] Call it a generous gesture. I wanted to thank you for your help and I was happy to share the glory.
Zuko: You're lying.
(I’m unable to tell if it is a lie or not. I think it is a mixture of both.)
ATLA: Book 3 Fire - The Beach
Azula: [Frontal view.] Well, yes, I guess you're right. I don't have sob stories like all of you. I could sit here and complain how our mom liked Zuko more than me, but I don't really care. [Gazes into the fire. Close-up view of the fire pit.] My own mother [Close-up.] thought I was a monster. [Close-up of Zuko and Mai. Close-up of Ty Lee. Side-view of campsite. After a momentary pause.] She was right, of course, but it still hurt.
ATLA: Book 3 Fire - Nightmares and Daydreams
Azula: What do you mean? Of course you're welcome there!
Zuko: Oh, yeah?! I guess that's why no one bothered to tell me about it!
All the moments that he call her out for lying she seems to be telling the truth. In those moments she is contradicting his world view. She tells him that Ozai doesn’t love him. That he is welcomed to a war meeting even after what happened last time.
When Azula tells the truth she forces Zuko to see the truth. The truth that he has spent so long denying. It is why he is so easily manipulated by her and Ozai. They know that if they tell Zuko what he wants to hear that he will follow them no matter what. That he won’t question the lies that fit the world view, but will the truths that he denies.
It is the reason that Iroh had such a hard time getting through to Zuko. Iroh had tried to get Zuko to question his world view.

Could you do another Sokka with the fire nation reader and maybe something domestic? Something after the war potentially? Please and thank you!!!
SERENE SHORES | SOKKA X READER
SUMMARY: after years of chaos, Y/N can’t help but feel weird when everything is peaceful. but hey, weird can be nice. especially when weird is with sokka.
WORD COUNT: 2.5k
WARNINGS: kissing, soft, pretty basic.
A/N: this is gonna be the least heartbreaking thing i’ll ever write super domestic 10/10 soft. also it feels wrong to not write something thats like 10k words of pining askhdkjsah also this is weirdest title ever im sorry
The sun poured into the room, indicating that Sokka had in fact, awoken, and opened the curtains, much to Y/N’s dismay. They were on vacation and yet he still insisted on waking up at the most ungodly of hours to work. Y/N had no doubt that he’d heard the whispers in the Southern Water Tribe, he’d done so much for the small nation that Y/N wasn’t shocked when rumors of Sokka potentially becoming the next chief came about. He was still young, but that didn’t stop people from talking, and maybe thats why he was putting so much pressure on himself.
But it was vacation, on Ember Island, alongside the rest of their friends. They’d agreed to head out later in the day together, to the beach to catch up with one another. Regardless, Y/N couldn’t help but groan, running a hand through her hair when she realized Sokka had gotten up early for no reason. Y/N had searched him prior to their departure to the island, ensuring he had no work at all, and yet here they were.
Sitting up in the bed, she stretched out her arms, allowing the sun to hit her face. Y/N squinted at the sudden brightness as she moved to stand, a wave of dizziness washed over her momentarily, causing her legs to wobble as she took her first few steps of the day. Y/N quickly recovered as she made her way outside of the room, bringing a hand to her forehead as she sighed. The Ember Island rooms were like small homes at this point, so Y/N wasn’t shocked to find Sokka in the kitchen, cutting up some fruits into the bowl.
He looks up at her, a smile on his face as he put the knife down and tries his best to lean against the counter alluringly, only for his elbow to miss the edge of the counter. Sokka stumbles slightly, causing Y/N to laugh as she greets him, “hi there.”
“Hey, beautiful.” Sokka greets, recovering from his fall as he jogs over to press a kiss to her cheek, wrapping his arm around her waist to pull her closer.
Y/N hums in response, wrapping her arms around his torso, “why are you out of bed?” She presses a kiss to his jaw before resting her head on his chest.
“I was making breakfast, per usual.” Comes his reply. Y/N had found that Sokka was actually a great roommate, he tended to wake up early to handle his duties in the Southern Water Tribe. Which meant he’d cook breakfast for the two of them, and get his fair share of cleaning done.
Y/N is pulling herself away from him to grab his hand and pull him towards the bedroom, “let’s go back to bed.” It was vacation, and they could probably order some sort of room service seeing as Ember Island was practically a resort.
“We have to meet the others later.” Sokka reasoned, resisting her aggressive yanks at his arm, feet remaining firmly planted on the floor.
Y/N playfully glares at him, “yeah, later. Not now, we have time. I don’t know why you woke up so early.” She’s scolding him, mostly because he’s been having trouble sleeping lately, and refuses to drink the tea she offered him. Iroh had kindly taught her how to make a ‘proper’ cup of tea, as he’d put it.
“It’s midday.” He points out, causing Y/N’s eyes to widen a fraction, her eyes flickering over to the windows momentarily as she tries to understand how she managed to sleep well into the middle of the day.
Her mouth opens and closes for a moment, brows furrowing in confusion as she looks to Sokka, “are you serious?”
Sokka blinks once before throwing his head back in laughter, “yes!”
With a rather aggressive tug at Sokka’s arm, Y/N pulled him closer bringing her free hand to his cheek as she pulled him in for a kiss. Sokka melted into it, bringing both his arms to hand loosely around her waist
It was peaceful. Watching him look so happy, the way the sunlight gleamed on his face as Y/N practically tackled him onto the bed, the bright smile on his face lit up the room more than the sun ever could. It wasn’t the first time she’d seen these things and she certainly hoped it wouldn’t be the last. And given how few threats of war and death and chaos there had been lately, Y/N had a feeling that she wouldn’t have to worry about losing Sokka to some insane enemy anytime soon.
Y/N hated how weird it felt. Being able to relax for once because there’s no threat of impending doom, no need to be alert despite the habit she’d developed to always have a hand ready to grab the knife at her side. Y/N hated that she couldn’t allow herself a moment of peace even though there was nothing to worry about.
Even when the war had ended, Y/N had to be on her toes for all the riots that started across the world. She and the rest of Team Avatar weren’t necessarily prepared for all the diplomatic work that had to be done to repair all the damage that had been done to the world during the 100 years of war. Aang had a lot of other issues to handle as the Avatar, Katara and Sokka had to work on rebuilding the Southern Water Tribe, Toph had to handle her parents though she had favored spreading the wonders of metalbending instead. Zuko was rebuilding the Fire Nation was simultaneously tearing down the century’s worth of brainwashing. And as for Y/N, she was just trying to figure out where she fit in to all this.
For the first time in a long time, nothing was going on. Y/N didn’t need to bring her weapons, and she didn’t need to look over her shoulder ever moment for potential enemies. And it felt weird.
They’d returned to Ember Island for a vacation, a reward to themselves for everything they’d done. And it had been a while since they’d been able to actually catch up, Y/N wouldn’t deny it, though they saw each other fairly frequently when it seemed the world was about to end, time to talk was rare. And now that they could talk, she didn’t know what to say.
Yeah, it felt weird.
Sokka’s arm had wrapped around her waist, and Y/N found herself watching as he threw his head back in laughter at something Toph had said. The girl in question seemed pretty pleased with herself, Zuko on the other hand was looking rather embarrassed. Not that Y/N was really paying attention to the conversation. They had gotten to the beach not too long ago, and Y/N had a feeling they would stay awhile, but she was a little busy getting lost in her own thoughts.
Was it wrong of her to wonder what happened next now that they had entered what would —hopefully— be an era of peace? The only person who could probably remember such a time was Aang, seeing as he was born before the war started, officially started that is.
Pushing away those thoughts, Y/N returned her attention to the conversation at hand, “you know what, the rest of you never grew up with Sokka’s whining in the mornings— Y/N knows what I mean, right?”
Y/N found herself straightening beside Sokka, “actually, Sokka cooks me breakfast in the mornings, and he’s surprisingly neat, so I have no complaints.” She lets out a small laugh, and Y/N can feel Sokka’s eyes on her figure as everyone else laughs once more.
“Thank you Y/N, see I can be a fantastic roommate.” Sokka asserted, throwing a playful glare to Katara as he squeezed Y/N’s side gently. She and Sokka had gotten together shortly after the war, and they’d been living together for a while. Seeing as they travelled together for over a year, there wasn’t really much of an adjustment period if Y/N was honest, and Sokka was a model roommate.
Sokka sits up suddenly, causing Y/N to raise a brow at him as she shifts in her seat, only for him to extend a hand to her, “I’m going for a walk, wanna come?”
She takes his hand, offering him a smile as she sits up as well, “yes.”
From the corner of her eye, Y/N can see Aang move to speak, only for Toph to swat at his chest when he tries to stand, and Katara to glare harshly. Zuko simply watches the interaction in confusion, brow furrowing as Katara beams up at the couple, “have fun!”
Sokka fought the urge to roll his eyes as he took Y/N by the hand and began to drag her away from the campsite. He’d noticed her behavior, something was bothering her. Of course, Katara was reading into things again, she and Gran Gran had grown a little obsessed in regards to his relationship with Y/N. Mostly because Gran Gran insisted that she had to live to see the wedding.
Oh god, Katara must’ve thought he intended to propose—
Y/N had gathered that much as well, it wasn’t something the two had discussed yet, mostly because they’d never had time. When they officially got together, everything was so chaotic they just never had the time, and now that they had the time, well neither of them had tried to broach the topic. Katara on the other hand seemed to continue her meddlesome ways, trying to put the idea into Y/N’s head time and time again during their conversations.
Y/N did not approve.
The pair walked silently across the coast line, water washing up against their bare feet as Sokka comically swung their hands back and forth, earning a small laugh from Y/N. She came to the realization that as badly as she wanted to avoid this conversation, it was necessary. Looking up at him, her brows furrowed as she spoke, “don’t let Katara... pressure you into anything, okay?”
Sokka frowned, pausing as he walked, “don’t tell me she’s been talking to you about-”
“Marriage.” They both muttered, simultaneously. The pair burst into laughter, and Sokka simply shook his head. Katara had obviously been discussing the subject with the both of them.
Sokka simply facepalms, and Y/N finds herself smiling as she watches him, “I’m sorry that she’s been bothering you about that, even though I told her not to.” He turns back to look at the camp, that’s still visible in the distance, Katara is giving him a thumbs up alongside Toph, though the young girl is facing the wrong direction. A show of support as he attempts to ‘propose’ to Y/N, though he didn’t intend to, not today at least.
Y/N offers him a nervous smile, pulling his attention away from their friends as they continued to walk, “it’s fine.” Another silence consumes them, and Y/N finds herself biting her lip as her gaze returns to Sokka, “have you thought about it though?”
“Marriage?” Sokka asks, looking to her with wide eyes, “of course, I have. But we’re still young...” He trails off, tilting his head at Y/N as he mumbles, “have you?”
She shrugs, looking to the horizon, where the sun is slowly disappearing and the night sky begins to reveal itself, “honestly? Not really, no.” Y/N can practically feel Sokka deflate beside her, and quickly continues, “not because I don’t want to marry you. I just... I don’t know I never had...”
“Time. To think about it?” Sokka offered when she trailed off. He understood, in a way. They weren’t able to think much of the future while on the run, mostly because the future was a luxury that they were unsure they’d ever get.
Y/N simply looks to him, nodding slowly she can feel her cheeks warm as she exhales deeply. “I want to though.” Her voice is quiet, probably because its the first time she admitting it to herself, that she does want to marry Sokka. There was always a small part of her that wondered what that would be like, and maybe moving in with him solidified the idea in her mind. Y/N didn’t know.
Maybe it was cliché but Sokka had known since they’d met.
“I’ve thought about it for a while.” He mumbles, fidgeting with her hand.
A smile graces Y/N’s face as she raises a brow, “what have you thought about?” She can’t help but feel curious, she’s well aware of how meticulously he plans things, and if he’s thought about their potential wedding it means he not only sees her in his future, but he also likely spent a lot of time considering minor details about the wedding.
Sokka’s eyes are glued to her hands as he responds, “you would look really pretty in a wedding dress.” If Sokka was honest, she looked pretty in everything, but the idea of marrying her? It had crossed his mind in the past, several times.
She’s never seen him this shy and subdued before, and Y/N can’t help but feel shocked at how soft his voice sounds when he speaks. So, she finds herself considering what this imaginary wedding would be like. Yet all she manages to say is, “I was thinking about how I would never get married on a beach.”
A small laugh escapes Sokka, “you hate sand.” They’d learnt that the hard way the last time they were at Ember Island, just before the end of the war. Sokka had spent about an hour convincing Y/N to come down to the beach despite her hatred of sand. She ended up agreeing— more accurately being forced to head down to the beach seeing as Sokka practically threw her over his shoulder and carried her there. Y/N vividly recalled the violent words she’d yelled at him when he threw her into the ice cold water.
Y/N is laughing alongside him, nodding, “I do.”
She’d be saying those words again, not too far in the future. And maybe this possibility is why Y/N decides that she likes this whole peace thing, standing on the serene shores of Ember Island. Life is good when you aren’t worried about impending doom all the time, and its even better with Sokka in it. Y/N wouldn’t mind spending the rest of her life with him.
“Let’s prank Katara into thinking you proposed.” She suggested, grinning at Sokka. If the girl was so insistent on meddling with their relationship, then why not get a little revenge?
Sokka seemed to like this idea, as his eyes iit up at her words, “I love you, so much.” He exclaimed, grabbing Y/N’s face with both hands and pulling her into a kiss.
Y/N finds herself smiling into the kiss, pulling away to say, “I know.”
“You’re supposed to say it back.” Sokka is pouting now, trapping her in his arms as he awaits the response he wants.
Y/N hummed in reply, a pensive look on her face as she pretended to consider his words, “I guess I love you too.”
“You guess?!”
Hopefully their honeymoon would be far less chaotic, and further away from sand.
A/N: lol writing something happy when you are sad is not it so im sorry that this is bad but i tried 🥺

Recently saw a tiktok that was like "if you ship [toph and zuko] than you have issues or you see something galaxy brained that i havent" and stumbled upon the concept of aroace Zuko and i concocted this idea ages ago so im posting it now: the epic Toph x Zuko Marriage of Convenience
Okay what you are all thinking of is book 3 Toph and Zuko, which totally dont have romantic chemistry and with the added age difference is prob why no one ever considers this ship. Four years when you're a teenager is a big difference. Four years when you're in your twenties and beyond isnt that big a deal. So they're adults and they've been friends for years at this point.
You also gotta sit back and look at what they are. Toph is the only child to a very rich and very well known Earth Kingdom family. Her family name in general is huge and carries a lot of weight but you also got her own accomplishments: Master Earthbender, the Creator of Metalbending, the Avatar's Earthbending teacher, and shes a war hero. Thats big. And then you got Zuko, who at this point is the Fire Lord. Zuko himself comes from a prominent Fire Nation family, seeing as he's royalty. He's also descended from a Avatar, but i dont think thats all that well known. Zuko is a Master Firebender, the Avatar's Firebending Teacher, and a war hero. On top of being famous both these people have credibility to fall back on.
So what im leaning into here is not exactly a marriage alliance seeing as the Earth Kingdom has its own royalty but its definitely a political move
Anyways Zuko has a lot on his plate, dismantling his dad's empire and all that. When he's nearing 30 the council is all like "you need to find a bride". Zuko writes up his ex-girlfriends and finds out they're either married or he just cant bring himself to trap someone into a marriage with him after knowing how it destroyed his mom. So he's stuck with no one of his own choosing so the council and high up nobles are trying to fix him up and not-so-subtly set him up with their daughters. Half of Team Avatar comes and visits (lets say Toph, Aang, and Sokka) and witness the behind the scenes of all this. They're having tea with Zuko and two people come in at different times and try to casually talk about the marriage thing. Toph can hear things that happen in the hallways too. Zuko is all "noooooooo guys why is this happening to me" and Sokka probably finds it funny but also a little sucky, and Aang probably hates it because "Zuko should marry for love!". And Toph is all "I know right" because she can totally relate. Her parents were looking for matches for her since she was born, and now that shes visiting again they've started back up again. Her and Zuko start swapping match-making stories ("so i come home and this boy and his father are there and my mom is all like 'Toph have you met __'" "I'm in the throne room for a meeting on road construction and this guy derails the whole thing so he can introduce his niece to me"). Later on after Toph has been listening in on the palace for a few days now and shes starting to really feel sorry for Zuko. Sokka just keeps making jokes until Toph snaps at him. Aang is pretty oblivious and probably spends all day at the market looking for souvenirs to bring home for Katara. And one night while Zuko is up late doing paperwork by candle light Toph stops by because her body cant sleep at night sometimes and they get to talking and Toph jokingly throws out "what if we just married each other? Then everyone will get off both our backs!" and they're laughing and after they've calmed down Zuko has a light bulb moment and he's like "wait, that might not be a bad idea". They spend all night working out the details to their hypothetical wedding and a day later decide to actually go through with it. Theres uproar from the council of course because Zuko didnt choose their pick Toph isnt Fire Nation nobility. And then Zuko starts listing all her family's importance and stuff and the council is forced to admit to themselves its not actually a bad idea. Plus marrying Earth Kingdom would make the Fire Lord more relatable to the colonies where theyre having a lot of problems with people of mixed heritage right now. Sokka and Aang hear rumblings of this because palace servants gossip and they're debating wether or not to believe these rumors when they run into Toph and just ask her and shes all like "yeah we're talking about it" and they boys flip out. Aang still maintains that everyone should marry for love but Toph and Zuko won't budge.
Over in the Earth Kingdom Toph's parents are ecstatic because the only better option Toph could marry was Earth Kingdom royalty. They completely endorse it and only argue to not seem like pushovers and when topics revolving money come up (ex. dowery). The Earth King gets in on this because its too good a opportunity to not capitalize on it. The Earth Kingdom is abuzz because a foreign King is marrying one of their own. Everyone is hyped and Team Avatar are the only ones who find the whole situation weird because to them its not a fairytale its their actual friends.
All-in-all they get married in the Fire Nation and the guest list was awful to make but people from all over the world are there. Toph's mother freaks out the whole time because "what if Toph falls down all those steps!" The wedding is mostly all Fire Nation tradition but Toph wears a Earth Kingdom wedding dress because everything is political now. Toph and Zuko have a relatively fun night and Sokka has the time of his life. And their marriage actually really works out for them because they're friends. They make fun of fancy people and rant to each other in the evenings. Toph is still running metal bending schools but either now they have to come to her or she gets stuck with a Fire Nation security team for like 3 months of the year she spends in the Earth Kingdom and she gets flashbacks to her childhood. And Zuko is sometimes all "i miss my wife" and the servants are all "awwww they're so in love" but the truth is he wants to talk sh*t with her and because shes blind he always has to write letters with the interpreter's opinion/gossip in mind. Toph still sneaks out all the time because shes not giving up her independence willy-nilly and is not above pulling the blind card to get out of things, which irritates Zuko sometimes because that means he has to deal with boring meetings by himself. They gaang visits all the time and by the time Republic City rolls around Toph manages to get herself sent as a "ambassador" (her and Sokka have some fun their shared meetings) and then to stay on to help set up the police force, which is a little dicy since shes representing the Fire Nation but also shes teaching only metalbending so its a controversial thing. This also gives Zuko a excuse to visit Republic City more often so he can see everyone since they settled down there.

rotations. bonus! azula returns
HI THIS ONE HAS BEEN IN MY HEAD FOR A WHILE PLS ENJOY
(Y/N) was happy in her life. Being married to Zuko was better than she could have ever imagined. His stoic expression as Fire Lord faded away as soon as they were in private. She saw her friends as often as their schedules would allow, and enjoyed sitting at Zuko’s side in the throne room. But sometimes, she felt trapped within the palace walls. When she was young, she traveled the world. Now, the only time she traveled was for diplomatic affairs. She loved her life, but sometimes she longed for a new adventure. These were leftover feelings from her teenage life, it was obvious. She was an adult now, with adult responsibilities.
“Mommy?” A tiny voice called out.
Responsibilities like the baby girl at the edge of her bed. It was early in the morning, around the time that she would normally wake up. (Y/N) slid out from underneath Zuko’s arms to look at her daughter. The three year old clutched a stuffed platybus bear that Iroh had given her for her last birthday. (Y/N) smiled at her little girl. “Hi, little blossom,” She whispered as she picked up Izumi and placed her in the bed between her and Zuko. She made herself comfortable in the plush sheets as she stared up at her mother. “How did you sleep?”
“Good,” Izumi played with the bill of her platybus bear. “Daddy?”
Zuko turned over and wrapped his arm around his child. She giggled as he peppered her face with kisses. “Good morning, Princess,” He said with a smile. His voice was husky from sleep, his eyes barely able to open in the morning light. (Y/N) leaned over to press a kiss to his cheek.
“What’s your plan today?” Zuko asked as Izumi cuddled himself into his arms. (Y/N) shrugged.
“I was thinking about maybe going on a picnic?” She looked at Zuko hopefully, but his sad expression made her pout.
“I’ve got back to back meetings today. And tomorrow.”
“And the day after that and for the rest of time,” (Y/N) said with a playful roll of her eyes. “I’d really like to get out of the palace for the day. Izumi, would you like to go on a picnic with Mommy?”
“Icknick!” The little girl cheered, a bright smile on her features.
“Where will you go?” Zuko asked.
“I think I’ll take her to the hot springs behind the palace. It’s really beautiful this time of year.”
Zuko exhaled. He grabbed (Y/N’s) hands and began playing with her fingers. “I wish I could go with you. Can I send some guards with you?” (Y/N) scoffed.
“I’m pretty sure I can protect myself.”
“Mommy firebend,” Izumi said to her father matter-of-factly. Zuko chuckled.
“Mommy does it best,” Zuko agreed. (Y/N) smiled and took her daughter into her arms, sliding out of bed.
“We’ll be back before dinner time,” She assured her husband as she kissed him. She left the room to get Izumi dressed. “Don’t go starting any wars,” She called to her husband from the hallway.
“Very funny!”
---
The hot springs were in a wooded area behind the palace, accessed only by a cobblestone path leading from the turtle duck pond. (Y/N) and Izumi walked together, both with a hand on the handle of the picnic basket. Izumi’s platybus bear toy dragged behind her on the ground.
The hot spring steamed and bubbled in a stone pond. (Y/N) had grown up visiting it occasionally. She, Zuko, and Azula would take turns seeing who could last longest in the boiling water. Firebenders could withstand some of the highest heats, but Azula always won out in the end.
(Y/N) shook her head to make the thought go away. It was hard, sometimes, to be in the palace. Memories popped back up without warning. And despite everything that had happened, sometimes she found herself missing her. She shoved it down as far as she could, but it still crawled up inside of her at the moments she least expected it. Like today.
So she focused her attention on Izumi. She unfurled the picnic blanket and set the food the servants had prepared for them. Izumi ate sandwiches in the shapes of stars and moons. It was something the servants liked to do for her. She was the sweetest child the palace had seen in years.
(Y/N) ate her sandwich and moved onto dessert: fruit tarts. She gave Izumi a tiny piece. “Did you know that these are how Daddy and I met?”
Izumi took the piece between two fingers curiously. “Fuit dart,” She whispered to herself. (Y/N) smiled.
“Yeah, fuit dart.” She gave her daughter a kiss on the forehead.
Once they had finished eating, (Y/N) let Izumi run around while she basked in the sunlight. Like most firebenders, it revitalized her. It made her feel new again. She closed her eyes and tilted her face up to feel its warmth.
“Swim!” Her eyes opened again to see Izumi standing at the edge of the hot spring. (Y/N) shook her head.
“No, Izumi, we aren’t swimming today.”
“Swim!” Izumi said again, stamping her foot on the ground.
“I said no, Izumi.” The little girl began to cry. (Y/N) stood immediately and took her daughter into her arms, shushing her to calm her. She bounced around on her feet to soothe her.
“Poor girl. She’s a princess, she should do what she wants.”
(Y/N) felt her blood run cold. She clutched Izumi tightly and it was as if the little girl sensed her mother’s fear, because her cries fell into small shakes of her body as she recovered. (Y/N) turned around and found the last person she wanted to see at that moment.
“Azula.” She set her jaw. She felt anger swell inside of her. Azula stared at her smugly. They hadn’t seen each other since she and Zuko had left ot find their mother. Azula had escaped from him and spent years on the run. (Y/N) had heard rumors of Azula gathering subjects for her cause, but what that cause was, she had no idea.
“I see you’re not without any guards. Very irresponsible of Zuzu, don’t you think?”
“I can handle myself. Or did you forget about our Agni Kai?”
She watched Azula’s eye twitch, ever so slightly. “A stroke of luck on your part. I’d be happy to go again. Or perhaps little Izumi would like to try her hand at firebending?”
(Y/N) held her daughter closer to her. “I’m only teasing. I know she can’t firebend.”
“What are you doing here, Azula?”
“It’s been too long since we’ve seen each other, wouldn’t you agree?”
(Y/N) had to admit that she was scared. She was here, alone, with her daughter and Azula. Even if she fought Azula, Izumi was too small to know that she should stay out of the way of the flames. (Y/N) thought she had been angry when Azula hurt Zuko, but if she hurt Izumi...
Azula sighed and rolled her eyes. “I’m here because I wanted to see her. It hurts, not being invited to the wedding, but it hurt more not being told I had a niece.”
(Y/N) furrowed her brows. “You wanted to see her?”
“Yes, (Y/N), is that so hard to believe?”
“It is, Azula, considering our history.” Azula scoffed, flicking her hair over her shoulder.
“I’ve never lied to you.”
“You’re lying right now!”
Azula sighed, reaching into her pocket. She pulled out the crown worn by the crown princess of the Fire Nation. She extended her arm out to (Y/N) in offering. “I brought this for her.”
Cautiously, (Y/N) crept forward to take the crown from Azula’s hand. She put it in the pocket of her robes. She wasn’t sure if Azula was above lacing things with poison.
“Motherhood has made you overly cautious.”
“No, I think it was my childhood friends trying to kill me.”
“You forgave Zuko. Why can’t you forgive me?”
(Y/N) opened her mouth to speak, but she couldn’t. She found herself at a loss for words. How could she explain to Azula that the things she had done were unforgivable.
“You tried to kill me, Azula. You tried to kill the people I love.”
“And why wasn’t I one of those people, hm?” Azula snapped. “Every single day you chose someone else over me. First it was Zuko. Then it was the Avatar and his friends.”
“I never chose anyone over you, Azula. You chose the Fire Nation.”
“And you betrayed me!” Azula’s eyes danced with anger. (Y/N) swallowed the lump in her throat. Izumi held on tightly to her mother’s robes.
“I didn’t betray you, Azula. I never wanted to leave you. Your father forced my family to leave. And then I saw the horrible things our nation was doing to people. Everything we had ever believed was a lie.”
Azula’s eyes brimmed with tears. She wasn’t sure how to feel. She had seen (Y/N) and Izumi alone and her first instinct was to talk to them. She hadn’t planned this far ahead.
“I never wanted to leave you,” (Y/N) said again. “But you did some horrible things.”
“You think I’m a monster, just like everyone else.” (Y/N) shook her head.
“I don’t think you’re a monster. I think you were confused and had no one to be there for you. You are one of the people I love, Azula. You’re just lost.”
“Don’t throw that word around like that?” (Y/N) stared at her in confusion. “Love. You don’t love me, (Y/N), I love you.”
“Azula--”
“I love you! I’ve loved you since we were children and you never saw it, you never realized. You were too focused on Zuko to even give me the time of day.”
(Y/N) looked at the ground. “I never knew.” She said quietly.
“I know. So believe me when I say that the only reason I am here is for Izumi. I just wanted to see her.”
(Y/N) looked back up to see Azula’s face. She was an excellent liar, but (Y/N’s) heart told her that she was telling the truth. About everything. So she took a step forward until they were arm’s length away.
“Izumi,” She said to her daughter. “This is Aunt Azula. Can you say Azula?”
Izumi stared shyly at her aunt. “Zula,” She said quietly. (Y/N) watched as Azula broke into a genuine smile, her eyes watering.
“Hello, little princess.” Hesitantly, she reached out to touch Izumi. Her small palm wrapped against Azula’s finger.
“Zula,” Izumi said again, quite seriously.
(Y/N) looked at the sky to see the sun was beginning to set. She turned back to Azula. “Zuko will be expecting us soon.”
“Don’t tell him,” Azula stared into (Y/N’s) eyes.
“I won’t. I promise.”
---
(Y/N) and Izumi returned to the palace a little before dinner. They found Zuko in the throne room, his presence full of advisors. He dismissed them as soon as he saw his wife and daughter.
Izumi giggled as she ran up to her father. She jumped into his arms and he lifted her high above her head. “How was your picnic?”
“Very good,” (Y/N) said, the smile on her lips tight. Zuko stared at her for a moment, but decided to let it go. Perhaps Izumi had been difficult today.
“Zula!” Izumi said happily. (Y/N’s) stomach dropped. “Zula! Zula!”
“What’s she saying?”

hii i just recently started getting into taang and i love them but i havent seen much fics where they’re like. not the background couple to zutara? i mean i do love them a lot too but i’d rather the story be taang centered. so i was wondering if maybe uh. you could do a fic rec 🥺👉🏼👈🏼
Oooo okay I think it’s time I post my unfinished Taang Fic Rec list this doesn’t even come close to all the fics I like so stay tuned Bc I have more:
Multi Chapter Fics
The Slow Path: I’m pretty sure every Taang fan has accepted this as The Taang fic. A must read. Essentially Aang comes back after being gone for a few years and now the Gaang has to come back together to take down a new enemy force. And along the way they find love
The Long Game: UNDERRATED SEQUEL. Yes okay- It’s not finished and that might be why. But it’s a fantastic follow up to The Slow Path. Zuko’s Fire lord status is questioned, Toph is having night terrors, Katara is adjusting to become Fire lady, and Suki is dealing with PTSD. It has great GAang interactions and lots of T e n d e r Taang moments what more could you want? This is more of Gaang fic but Taang is still very front and center.
Practice Makes Perfect: Toph goes up to Aang and say ‘What if we practiced kissing each other haha jk... unless?’ and Aang replies with ‘That is a crazy idea hahahahaha....unless?’
Roommates: ..And they were roommates. Oh my god they were roommates
Entranced: Do you know Aladdin? It’s like the first few minutes of Aladdin but with its own twists and turns. There’s no genie but there IS poverty.
Fall of the White Lotus: A long ass really fleshed out fic. It’s centered around Zutara, but there is a really well developed Taang plotline that connects to it and it involves Koh soo you know it’s a good one. There’s so much that happens it’s hard to like pin this one down. But like you should read
The Princess and the Badger-Cat: This is just such a fun fic that has the whole Gaang in it and has really good friendship moments in it. Sokka is turned into a Badger-Cat, Pirates kidnap Katara, Zuko and Aang vibe. It’s just a good time. (There’s sweet Toph and Aang moments in it as well obviously but it’s not the center)
Operation Zutara: This is a Modern au and there’s so much that goes on in this fic but imma try to boil it down: Toph and Aang try to come up with elaborate schemes to get Zuko and Katara together, but they get side tracked by the sudden realization of their own feelings for each other. Lots of shenanigans in this story. Also getting Revamped currently and I’m super stoked about it! And despite its name it’s very Taang centric
Heartbeat: Currently in the making. Your soulmates name is written on your wrist. It’s canon verse and I’m a sucker for soulmate AU’s
Whisper Into the Sky: Tophs been traveling around with Aang for years and loving life. Until her parents want her to get married. Toph fights her way through suitors for her freedom
Ya’aburnee: ‘you bury me’ A declaration of one’s hope that they’ll die before another person, because of how difficult it would be to live without them. Avatars aren’t meant to belong – that’s as much as Aang can fathom.
Book 3: Fire: A completely different version of season 3. I believe they completed it before season 3 was even released, so it’s completely original and captivating. Aang gets help opening his chakras, Katara is a badass, and Zuko is moody. There is A LOT that happens in this fic and is so fun to read from start to finish. (Sweet Taang moments in between)
Between Heaven and Earth: Everyday I curse the fact that this isn’t finished, but its still 100% worth your time reading. Follows the journey of Toph and Aang (and the rest of the Gaang) after the war.
Listless Afternoons: Aang has some stuff to work out and Zuko forces him on a vacation. While ‘Vacationing’ in the fire nation Aang runs into a certain someone that’s looking for an escape too.
The Avatar’s Lover: Unfinished, but so good. Rumor has it that the Avatar’s Lover has great power and a certain spirit wants to harness it for themself
Past Mistakes: Unfinished 😪. Lao requests the Avatar to help his daughters plaguing nightmares
One Shots that just HIT different
As It Should Be: Toph asks Aang a shocking question in the middle of the night
Rhythms: Toph hears her child’s heartbeat and contemplates about life
Rose Garden: Aang promises Toph a ~R o s e G a r d e n~
When in Rome: THIS ONE IS SPICY but Toph and Katara run away to Rome
Lessons in Disasters: Aang and Toph go out on a date and obviously it ends up in a bar fight
Meet Me Under the Table: Aang and Toph have a wide collection of tablecloths as a personal inside joke shared between them
Etched in Earth: Toph knows the foot patterns of all her friends, but one particularly stands out
Feels like Home to Me: Aangs is insecure and Toph snaps some sense into him
2Am: Katara is pissed off at whoever set the fire alarm off at 2am.
I have a lot more now and a lot more newer fics to add this is an old list I started awhile ago so if you guys want me to I’ll make a big list and keep it updated 😤

Old Bones Aflame (Part 41)
Azula looks up from that final patch of bindweed. It is a victory short lived when she realizes that it is not Hama's shadow that has come to fall over her.
"What do you want?"she asks flatly.
"We just wanted to talk." Aang says meekly.
"Is this conversation going to end with my death?"
"It wasn't supposed to end that way the first time."
Azula sighs. "I suppose that it would be quite a tarnish on your immaculate reputation if I died in front of all of these people."
"Just keep Hama in check." Sokka says bluntly.
"Keep your sister in line." She scoffs and Katara flinched. She turns back to Aang. "I'll make this discussion very quick. If you're going to try to place me back in that facility I have no interest."
Zuko bristles. "That isn't up to you."
"It certainly is. I won't be coming quietly. And killing me permanently won't be quite as simple as you think it will be."
His expression changes only for a flicker. "Im…that's not what I want to do."
"Then you'll have to decide what you want more; me alive and free or me dead."
"You're dangerous, we can't just let you run free!" Sokka declares.
She must say that it is rather flattering to still be seen as a threat even one hand short. "Perhaps I don't want run free, maybe I'd prefer to leisurely walk free." She shrugs. And with a sigh she adds. "Does it look like I have any intention of going back to the Capital for any reason? Have you considered that I'm perfectly content here with my…with my mother and her box of animal bones?" And to Katara she adds. "You damaged those by the way."
"Look, its just really hard to believe that two evil people…"
"Are actually just people who want to dwell in the jungle and be left alone?"
.oOo.
Katara swallows, she wishes that she didn't believe her. But when she had looked into Hama's eyes that day she had only seen deep exhaustion and even deeper sorrow. She had seen that withdrawn, hopelessness that she had gotten so used to seeing in the more battleworn Fire Nation towns.
She had taken away something…someone so important to the women and she had almost felt relieved about.
"I helped heal you."
"And how would you have responded if I helped you heal the Avatar in the Crystal Catacombs? I'm not interested in making friends."
"Neither are we." Sokka cuts in.
"I wouldn't have responded well." Katara finally answers. "I would have as much bad blood with you as I do now."
"Well then." Azula shrugs. "At least when I killed the Avatar we were engaged in combat during a time of war. You all marched up our porch step while we were just…" she shrugs. "Doing our daily routines."
Katara swallows. She tries to remember exactly what she had seen Azula and Hama doing before they had gone and upheaved their serenity like the best of any Fire Nation soldier could have.
And she is sure that Aang is right. They had been talking about plants and Azula learning to cook.
She can almost imagine herself sitting with Hama on her porch. The woman had been a nice teacher. Perhaps in another lifetime they could have been friends.
"What was she going to teach you to cook?"
"I don't remember." Azula replies plainly. "Hama probably does. Why does it matter?"
"I don't know, I guess that I…" what? Needs more proof that they are just two human beings trying to find peace. "Never mind."
"So how is this going to work? Are you all going to let me get back to helping Hama with her garden or am I going to have to indulge in a rematch. Of course I would recommend walking away, Honoki prefers my reign to yours, Zuzu. There have been some particularly heinous rumors about how you’ve treated me and if you kill me again…well then they will have every reason to believe that the worst of them are true.” She pauses.
“Azula…” Aang starts.
“But I don’t think that you can kill me again. After all, I was the one who delivered the fatal blow. Hama is safe, you have no leverage.”
“Oh we can get Hama again.” Zuko growls.
“I don’t think that you can. Not without hurting the civilians who have grown rather fond of her. They will protect her. They will protect me. How many of them are you willing to kill to take me down?”
“None!” Aang replies. “We’re not fighting.”
“Is that correct, Zuko?” She spits his name.
“It’s not.” Zuko replies and Katara grits her teeth.
Azula smirks, it is enough to chill Katara to the core. She has an advantage, more than the ones that she had already mentioned.
“Zuko, maybe we should just leave.” She winces. “Aang’s right, they’re not hurting anyone–the villagers wouldn’t be helping them if they hated them.”
“Or maybe they’re scared that their village is going to get torched if they don’t.”
“I’m sorry but that was kind of your thing.” Aang points out. “Kyoshi Island is still being repaired. And the villagers look pretty lively to me. Hama is giving them snacks.” He jabs his thumb in the woman’s direction. “She’s giving Toph snacks.”
Sokka blinks twice, his mouth falling agape. “She…she was just over here!”
“And now she’s getting snacks.”
Katara fixes her gaze back on Azula. Her face is as blank and unreadable as ever, maybe less so than before. “We don’t have to like them, Zuko.” Katara speaks up. “And they don’t have to like us but we can agree to just, I don’t know, never speak to one another again. We don’t even have to come near Honoki again.”
“But they’re threats to the safety of the Fire Nation.”
“I’m a threat to your safety.” Azula rolls her eyes. “Everything I’ve done in the war was to better our nation. You’re the traitor. You and Iroh. Why do you think that these people are still loyal to me? They know that I have their best interests in mine. I’ll put them before other nations.” She furrows her brows. “Of course I wouldn’t go out of my way to destroy the others like father had. So long as they don’t infringe upon Fire Nation affairs I won’t…wouldn’t think much of them either which way. Of course trade would be a possibility…”
She is rambling. It isn’t entirely like her to muse quite so openly. Katara swallows again; Azula is just another person. She has her passions, subjects she can talk about for hours and never tire. She has her own kind of expressions of love.
“It doesn’t matter. I have no interest in the throne. There’s no thrill and the city is less vibrant.”
“You love Hama, don’t you?” Katara cuts in.
“Excuse me?”
“You care about her?”
“What does that have to do with anything?”
Aang meets Katara’s gaze and she is almost certain that he understands where she is going with this. “She taught you not to hate waterbenders, didn’t she?”
Azula sighs. “I don’t hate anybody–not on a collective level anyhow. Certain waterbenders, though, are unbearable. But then, there are certain firebenders that are even worse. It’s a poor reflection on all of us when that one wears the crown.” She ends with a shrug.
Zuko clenches his fists and teeth.
“She’s not going to bother anyone if we just leave her alone, Zuko.” Aang insists. “Right, Azula?”
“If I wanted Zuko dead, he’d be dead already. I would have made a delightful little sneak attack while we were having this conversation. He wouldn’t have seen me again if he hadn’t sought me out.”
“She needs to be brought to justice.”
“For what? Killing me? We got her killed so we can call that even. For Ba Sing Se? We haven’t done anything to Iroh and the only difference between what she did and what he did is success.”
Zuko opens his mouth and closes it again.
“The war is over Zuko, we don’t need anymore bloodshed. And we can’t take her from Hama.”
“Katara, I thought that you were with me.”
“I was.” She admits. “But you weren’t there, Zuko. You didn’t see her face when…” Katara swallows. “You didn’t see the…”
“My body.” Azula fills in. “You didn’t see my body. You didn’t even have the decency to stick around and take a good look at what you caused. At least I had the decency to look at the Avatar after I struck him down.”
“I’m sure he really appreciated that.” Sokka grumbles.
“If you can’t stomach murder then you shouldn’t seek to comit it.”
“I already said that I’m not here to kill you!”
“Oh but you are. Putting me back in that place would kill me–the parts of me that matter anyhow.”
“The point is that the war is over, we haven’t punished Iroh for his actions in Ba Sing Se. We haven’t punished you for burning Kyoshi Island–we’re friends with you! Katara, you let Yon Rah live.”
Katara nods, “I don’t regret it.” Not at all. And what is the difference between he and Hama? She swallows once more upon realizing that she has been angrier at Hama than the man who had killed her mother. Hama whose victims are still living–some of them among the people working on her house. “If I can let him go, I can let Hama go. I won’t forgive her and I’ll always remember how terrifying that night was. But I can let the anger go.”
Aang is smiling now. And Katara realizes that she doesn’t want to be angry. It is such a heavy weight to be angry. And if Hama can help Azula to stop hating waterbenders then how dreadful can she be? “It was you, wasn’t it?”
“You’re going to have to be more specific.” Azula folds her arms across her chest.
“You’re the reason that the people of Honoki have been treating me better; the reason that they don’t hate waterbenders as much.”
“It’s a work in progress, but if I say something they’ll usually listen. There are some stubborn ones but I like Hama and Kohan…and Khan. So they follow suit. At the very least they’ll leave them alone.”
“If anything, Zuko, it sounds like she’s helping people.”
.oOo.
Hama has finally noticed their new guests. She and Quin approach with a small army of villagers in tow. “It’s alright, Hama. They were just leaving.” She cuts Zuko a glare. “Right?”
“Right.” Aang says solidly. She has a feeling that the Avatar’s opinion holds more value than thant of an underprepared, dolt of a Fire Lord’s. “We shouldn’t have come back here at all. We’re sorry for damaging your house and almost killing Azula.”
Hama opens her mouth but Azula holds her hand up. They don’t need to know that she had died, mostly because it is an inconvenience to her but she supposes that she doesn’t want to hassle the Avatar either. “And I suppose I should offer you an apology Avatar.” Albeit a curt one. “I did what I had to do. I would do it again. But…”
“I get it, you want to apologize but you don’t want to do it in front of all of these people.” He flashes one of his all too happy-go-lucky smiles.
“You’re hilarious, Avatar.”
“It’s always a pleasure talking to you, Azula.” He replies.
“You should be honored, yes.” She supposes that she doesn’t hate the boy. He has a job to do and he does it sufficiently. Respectably, with a degree of honor that a firebender has to appreciate. “I am willing to converse with you again, perhaps. But none of your other friends.” She gives Toph a sidelong glance. “Alright, that one too. Maybe.”
“That’s a start.” Aang laughs.
“Maybe.” She emphasizes.
“Maybe is good enough. Let’s go, Zuko.” He gives his arm a light tug.
And just as he is walking away she says, “oh, and Avatar…”
“Yes?”
“There is something else that I’d like to talk to you about.”
