Helloooo.
We haven’t read from the zombie au for a while!
Thena and Gil were traveling a while now and decide to take a break in an abandoned farm. They are exhausted, especially Gil because the fight before was pretty rough on them (zombies were a bit too strong for Thena).Later she walks into the room with some stuff to cook, calling for Gil only to find him leaned against a wall visible exhausted and sleeping.
Let’s do some very sweet and soft moments between them.
Thena picked through the remains of the farmhouse's cupboards. Most were abandoned, as expected. But if she had learned anything in her time with Gil, it was that she really didn't know what cans of mundane food could be made delicious.
She didn't know how she had gotten so lucky.
Gil was an incredible find in the current state of the world. Not even just in terms of the skills he had, but to find someone who wasn't just...some psycho?--a rare find indeed.
And Gil was not only not bad, but rather sweet--charming even. He was really funny, although he seemed surprised every time he said something that made her laugh. She didn't know how, because he was hysterical. And he was gallant! He had a chivalry to him that Thena couldn't remember seeing since...maybe ever.
She had never met anyone like Gil before.
So, he was sweet, he was funny, he was great company, especially since Thena was so silent she worried she might go insane because she would sooner that than start talking to herself. But Gil was somehow still personable after all of this.
Other people noticed it, too. Anyone they came across - who also wasn't just some psycho - always asked him to join them and their people. Sometimes it was just one or two people, and sometimes it was a pretty sizable group. And always, he turned them down.
Thena was always more than a little relieved when he did. She didn't mesh well with people. But with Gil...it was much more natural. And the fact that he could cook was just the icing on the cake.
Thena made the quick trip from the farmhouse to the barn they had secured a few hours prior. They'd had to clear out a massive horde from inside of it, some of them really massive from the skylight having let in rainwater. Gil had done the heavy lifting, of course. He was a little overprotective at times, but Thena gave him the benefit of the doubt. He was just worrisome like that--almost a bit of a fraidy cat. She wasn't surprised he would insist on handling the bigger ones for her.
"There wasn't exactly a feast left in there," Thena murmured as she locked the door to the barn behind her. At least they were right, and the smell was already improved from when they'd first opened the doors. She rummaged through the bundle of cans she did find. "But there are three different kinds of beans, and I found your favourite: cranberry-Gil?"
The man in question was leaned up against one of the support pillars, out like a light. He was sleeping so heavily she was glad she always insisted on setting perimeter traps before they set down anywhere. He was snoring.
Thena set down her finds gently on the wooden floor, kneeling down to peek at his sleeping face. It was completely relaxed in his dozing, his mouth slightly open. There was something kind of beautiful about his face, sometimes.
Look, she wasn't ignorant, okay? She was aware that Gil had a certain...stature. She had noticed that her companion for the aftertimes was built like a built like a bear but soft like a teddy.
Once or twice - a few times at most! - she had been too unnerved by their surroundings to sleep, and had cuddled up to Gil. He was warm! And something about him calmed the part of her that was always alert--always alarmed. But she always tried to wake up before him and put some distance between them.
If he didn't bring it up, then it never happened.
"Oh, Gil," Thena smiled at him as he let out another soft snore. She retrieved his bag and pulled out two blankets, folding up one around the side of the pillar for herself. Even while used to sleeping on the ground, a wood floor would feel very different.
Once seated on her little pillow, Thena draped the other blanket around Gil and guided him down gently. She pulled until his head met her lap, letting him settle against her comfortably.
As if able to sense immediately that his neck wasn't cramped in an awkward position, he sighed. He shimmied a little, adjusting to his position against her.
Thena watched him smile in his sleep, running her fingers through his hair. It was feathery soft, dark with just a few greys starting at his hairline. She would have to ask him how to cut it for him come the time.
"Anything out there?"
Thena smiled, still running her hand through his hair. "No, you sleep."
"Okay," he sighed blissfully, "I'll take next watch."
They were both asleep within the hour.

2nd Gen Olympian nicknames
(I know we kinda always use nicknames when we write about the sillies, but these are what I think would actually be used by the characters. Obv just headcanon, sorted by age lol)
Athena
Doesn't like nicknames, which makes her siblings use them all the more, particularly when they're younger.
Ath (on occasion, by Artemis, Apollo, or Hephaestus), Thena (that one kinda sticks after God Games), Attie (by Ares when he was a kid without self-preservation instinct, now sometimes by Hermes who has a deathwish), Thea (by Ody and Fam)
Hephaestus
Doesn't mind, doesn't care.
Heph (by everyone, even Athena surprisingly), Phaestus (rarer but it happens), Hephie (by Hermes, naturally)
Aphrodite
Actually loves nicknames, but loves terms of endearment even more. Ares hasn't used her name to her face in centuries, if he didn't call her my love, my darling, or my little dove, she would literally cry bc she would think he was breaking up with her.
Dite (The casual one most of her siblings use), Aph (Apollo, serious), Dovie (Somebody please contain Hermes)
Ares
His name has two syllables. One might argue for ARES (Athena, annoyed). Otherwise just endearment from Aphrodite, and descriptors like The Angry One. Please be nicer to Ares everyone he deserves better.
Artemis
Doesn't mind nicknames per se, but is particular about which ones.
Artie is out of the question (not even Hermes, Artemis is a ranged fighter), Temi or Ari is fine (Apollo, her girls, and on occasion some of the others)
Apollo
Is genuinely sad that Pollo is the only variant of his name that's halfway reasonable. Yes, people call him "Sunshine" (Okay, Hermes does, and his bf/gf do too), Pollo... honestly most of the siblings have used it but it doesn't really stick.
Hermes
Literally nobody shortens his name, but I guarantee every god and goddess has called him "little shit" at least once.
Dionysus
Honestly if the drugs kick in he answers to no variant of his name lol. It's Dio, by pretty much everyone, always (apart from Athena pre-God Games who stubbornly uses his full name)

Can you write that Druig x Fem!eternal!reader have a fighting training moment, he tease her little bit during that so...😏 just fluff
A/N - Hey! Sorry for taking so long, I had to finish my prompt session! This was amazing to write, thanks for requesting this, anon!
Soft
Summary - Druig knows how to talk, but you know how to fight.
Tumblr media
Warnings - Some teasing and some fluff :)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
“Again.”
“Seriously?”
“Yes, do it again,”
You eyed him as he was making fists at his sides, his icy blue eyes were watching you like a predator who was eyeing his game.  To him, he probably thought this was a game, which made sense since he was the one who wanted to spar with you and learn how to fight.  Properly fight, in his words.
But for him to ask you?  That threw you off since you knew you weren’t the best fighter amongst all the Eternals.  That was left to Thena, she made fighting look so easy and almost like a dance.  Even Gilgamesh was better at fighting than you were, with his brute strength he would knock a boulder back as if it were a flower petal.
Druig was no fighter, being the mind reader of you all he stayed out of the physical fights against the Deviants.  He could control a crowd of humans instantly with a simple gaze, so there was no real need for him to get his hands dirty.
Tumblr media
But he was intrigued and wanted to learn, which is what brought him to you one afternoon on the Domo before you were going to go on patrol with Gilgamesh.
“You just wanna….learn?” You asked him, seeing him fold his hands behind his back and simply give you his signature smirk and a shrug.
“Better to prepare myself in case it’s needed,” He replied smoothly, you giving him a suspicious look.  Druig was always mysterious to those around him, whether he tried to be or not.  There was always something hidden within him that no one could pinpoint, and this was one of those instances.  You looked from him to Gilgamesh, who simply shrugged and chuckled as you looked back at Druig.
“Why me?” You asked, seeing him smirk at you as his eyes drilled into yours.
“I heard you’re an excellent teacher,” he smoothly replied.  Gilgamesh snickered behind you, and you felt the tips of your ears burning.  Something in your mind was telling you that he was playing games with you, wanting to get a rise out of you and make you sweat.  He was always like this with the others, with you, when it came to his own amusement.  Snide remarks, and jokes under the breath, but they were all harmless in a way.  Yet this time, just in the way he said it and in how he was observing you for your reaction, you didn’t feel like giving him the light of day.
“Fine,” You replied shortly, seeing him grin widely in return.
“Fine,” he echoed.  But you were already thinking of a great way to teach him how to fight.
By breaking him.
Tumblr media
“Druig, I’m not gonna keep going if you’re on the verge of breaking an arm,” you advised him as he was souring off again, his feet planted on the ground and the adrenaline still seeping through his skin.  You could see it, his energy draining him with every round you two were doing.  It was making you want to ease and pull back a bit, but the other times you tried he was pushing you to not hold back with him.  From the very start, he wanted you to be hard with him, which surprised you when you both met up together in one of the smaller rooms in the Domo that was turned into a makeshift training room.
“I don’t want easy, understand?”
“You sure you wanna request that?”
“Yes. Don’t hold back with me,”
“I can do It,” he said to you, but even his voice sounded out of breath with his hair plastered to his head.  You rolled your shoulders, feeling some of the strain yourself since you both were sparring rather hard this day.  It was getting hard for you to find a good spot to pin him down, he was a faster learner and was picking up on questions and punches quickly.  Compared to the very beginning, you would be throwing him over your shoulder within two moves or knocking him off his feet with a swipe of your leg.  He wasn’t quick or light on his feet, he mostly had lead feet and slow hands.
But if there was one thing Druig would never do, was quit.
He took every beating and every defeat, his skin would be covered in bruises and his muscles would scream out in strain as the days rolled by.  But he would always show up, you think that he would fold after the first week or two.  Not that you had no faith in him, you did to a certain point.  But Druig was never a fighter by nature, and for him to go against his nature didn’t seem like him at all.
“I’m not saying you can’t, I’m saying I won’t.” You changed your wording, though now he was giving you an inquisitive look while you placed your hands on your hips.
“Sounds like you’re going soft on me,” he teased to which you raised a brow.
“This coming from you who is about to collapse in exhaustion,” You countered back, though he cracked a big grin.  You knew this was part of his game, using his words as a weapon to try his opponent off.  He did it with Ikaris so many times, along with Sprite when those two would get in a spat.  But now he was trying it with you, and you were trying your best to not let it show.
“You would like to see that, wouldn’t you?” He hummed, maybe hoping that you would smile.  But it was only giving your more adrenaline, to wipe the smirk off his face and to make him eat his words.  He saw your fists at your sides getting tighter and tighter, your legs locking in, and your eyes training in on him.
“Fine, we’ll go one more round,” You replied shortly, Druig’s smirk getting a bit bigger.  Perhaps he thought he got the best rise out of you and was going to win this little game he liked to play. But then again, he must not have known the side of you that you rarely showed the others, only in the heat of battle.
“You know, softness does look good on you,” He said lightly.  You felt the lick of adrenaline come back over you again from his words, which were trying to shoot you like darts and trying to penetrate you.  But all you wanted to do at this point was shut him up, to somewhat put him in his place with how he was treating you.  There was no doubt you two were friends, but he also knew how to use his words to make himself feel superior.  It worked on Ikaris, on Sprite, and now he was trying to work it on you.
No. Not gonna happen
You made it across the room in a few strides, dodging the first punch he threw out with ease, and threw one back.  The sparring was brutal now, both of you going swiftly and with ease as punches and kicks were being thrown left and right.  Neither one of you were holding back, some cheap shots to the jaw or to the ribs and you dodging everything he gave you.  You did the same with him, noticing how quick he was now and simply not just trying to avoid a punch.
But he got you in a good enough hold with both of your arms, his own arms wrapped around yours tightly as he was pressed against your side.  You tried to shrug it off one or twice, but he had some strength against him now as he chuckled right against you, almost in your ear.  His body heat longing for yours, his sweat mingling with yours, and simply being this close was enough to make you almost forget the position you were in.  The kind of intimacy that you had with the others being on the ship for so long together, you all had a connection of family and of leaning on one another.
But this, this was different, this felt like a different kind of intimacy that you never felt before. The kind to make your heart beat a bit faster, to make your head a bit lighter, and that sense of safety being close to him.  But it was odd since he was always there, from the moment you all came to Earth.  Yet now, it felt like a shift.
“I like seeing this side of you, you know,” he said against your ear, making you almost shiver as you were still trapped in his hold, “And to think I got you all soft too,”
You glared.  That did it.
Pivoting with your leg, you pushed it up to be parallel to your body, then pushed Druig a bit to have your foot hit him square in the head as a distract him.  It worked, his grip on your arms loosening slightly but enough to have you move.  Throwing your leg back down as he stumbled from being kicked between the eyes, you know him back with your body and turn to back him.  You knocked him off his feet with your leg within a millisecond, seeing him fall on his back and you perched over him.  Grabbing his arm to pin it down with one hand and the other hand on his neck, right on a pulse point where you knew was his weak spot.
It all happened so quickly, one minute he had you pinned against him and the next he was pinned beneath you on the ground.  But something inside of you snapped, something animalistic and that wanted to prove that you weren’t going to be swayed by him.  You knew your own strength, your own worth when it came to being in a fight, and your ability.  But the way Druig was looking up at you, pinned to the ground and having no way of getting out of it, you saw something in his eyes.  There wasn’t hate, nor was there rage that you won at his own game.
Shock?  Astonishment?  What was it?
“Am I soft now?” You asked, your hand on his neck still soft enough to let him breathe but there was still a grip to keep him in control.  He gulped, you feeling it along your fingers as his blue eyes were searching yours.  Now he was hard to read, which was bothering you now since you felt like you went too far in both kicking him in the head and slamming him to the ground.  But then again, he was keeping his eyes on you.  No longer was he looking at you like some prize, there was another way he was looking at you.  Yet you couldn’t pinpoint it.
“No,” He gasped, not in pain, but out of breath.  Slowly, you were moving your hand away from his neck, right where you were feeling his pulse dancing against his skin and along your fingers.  This was a new sense of intimacy neither of you ever experienced with one another before, and it was fresh and raw and new.  Something inside of you was frightened by this, but it also felt….right.
You released his arm and his neck, moving quickly to go back up on your feet and holding your hand out for him to grasp.  He was still sprawled on the floor, frozen like he was stuck against the ground, and had his eyes still on you in amazement.  You surprised him plenty of times in sparring sessions, yet this didn’t look like a surprise.  It looked like he was….having an out-of-body movement.
“We’re done for the today, okay?” You asked gently, seeing him finally move his arm up to grasp your hand.  You hoisted him up, seeing him nod his head and still silent as you smiled.  The mood was still tense amongst the pair of you, but it was better than how it was a moment before when you two were tangled in each other’s arms.
“Come on, let’s get some food,” You said to him, seeing him smile in return for the first time.  It made you feel better to see him smile, not to see him scowl or seem angry with how you handled him. But then again he did ask for you not to hold back, to not reserve your strength to him.  You walked on, thinking he was behind you as you were feeling rather flushed from what just occurred.
You didn’t realize that you left Druig there, speechless with one of his hands reaching up to touch his neck where your fingers were.  You didn’t realize that his mind was turning and wandering to new thoughts, and new feelings.
You especially didn’t realize that he was suddenly enraptured with you.
The End.

Truce Part 1

Part 1, Part 2, Part 3 Pairing(s): Ikaris x Persephone!Reader ft. Druig x Hecate!Reader Word Count: 2.7k Prompt/Summary: Ikaris and Druig have a discussion about the women in their lives (AKA: Ikaris is an idiot who thinks your best friend is a demon, and Druig is super in love with said demon). Warning: Slight mentions of death (no major characters tho), neurodivergent reader is neurodivergent, Hecate!Reader bestie is her own warning Note: Thank you to everyone who takes the times to read my writing even through it is likely way too self-indulgent to be considered in-character! Special thank you to the most amazing and incredible beta editor in the world, @valeskafics! If you have not, please go check her works! She mostly does HOTD, GOT, anything Ewan Mitchell, and literally EVERYTHING she writes is incredible!

It was safe to say that Ikaris was a confident individual.
This was a fact that applied to many aspects of his life.
He was confident in his abilities as an Eternal. He was confident in his faith in both his leader Ajak, and the Celestial that created him and his team members, Arishem. He was especially confident in his capability as a leader. This included carrying out missions, eliminating Deviants, and saving and “caring” about the fragile humans’ lives.
No matter what Druig implied.
But the one thing he could not say he was completely 100% confident about… was… understanding how he placed amongst the rest of the Eternals.
That wasn’t to say he wasn’t well-liked or even appreciated… but… he didn’t exactly know how some members “felt” about him.
He was more than well-received by certain members – Kingo and Sprite are the first Eternals that come to mind. He had earned the respect and trust of most of the group – as was shown by the trust Ajak put on him, along with the close bond he shared with Sersi. Thena and Gilgamesh certainly respected him as a fighter – but they never idolized him. In their eyes, he was more of a younger brother that they could share a drink and trade banter. He was on amicable terms with Makkari. Phastos and him never particularly bonded with each other, but the latter still trusted Ikaris’ judgement.
With Druig and Katelyn, both outright dismissing him most of the time –
No…that was putting it lightly…
Take the words “outright dismissed him,” and replaced them with “liked to act like bratty little shits and make him look like a fucking idiot;” along with the words “most of the time,” and replace them with “since they all left the goddamn Domo.”
…But he had no idea where he stood with you.
Sephia, the Eternal blessed by Arishem with the ability of absolute control of plants and the Earth. While Sersi made efforts to connect with the humans, you almost did everything in your power to avoid them. But no matter how you tried to avoid them, humans always adored you. They longed to catch a quick glimpse of the beautiful being that brought them aid whenever their crops were unable to bear fruit.
It was not only your powers that attracted them to you, but also the image you presented yourself to them. You were…heaven-sent – is how the humans saw you. Although fairly quiet, it was obvious to him that you were brilliant. Not only that, but you were fairly regimented in your diligence to your duties- something Ikaris greatly appreciated in a team member. You and Sersi worked together to only present them with their new crops, explain the various uses that would fit their lifestyle, show them how to properly harvest the crops and take a section of the seeds to replant, and then demonstrate how to properly plant them in a way that would yield the best results.
…It also helped how the sun would bring out that lovely flush to your skin in your demonstrations.
To them, your kindness and shy demeanor… along with your overwhelming beauty that was only further brought out from your flowing pink tunic with green twining and brass patterns… presented the very image of a Springtime Maiden.
You carried out your duties flawlessly, and always with so much efficiency that you always managed to have more than enough free time to go off on your little adventures to study the wildlife you had not created. You were curious as to how certain natural environments resulted in different lifestyle choices. You insisted that in studying the world around them, you would be able to better understand the humans’ lifestyle. A thought that was supported by Ajak whole-heartedly.
And it wasn’t only your duties to the humans that you carried out well – you even used your ability to control the plants that surrounded you to attack Deviants in desperate times. Sprite would spin tales of how the Sweet Spring Maiden Sephia could turn a little flower into a giant vine that could pierce through the skull of any deviant that came your way.
You were…different. That wasn’t to say you were strange…if anything…your differences made you…charming. Admittedly, he hadn’t paid much attention towards you at the beginning as he was initially attracted to Sersi’s kind demeanor. But he would always see you with her, and she would always insist on the two of you bonding. Your encounters with one another were awkward to say the least. But soon, he genuinely bonded with you…
Now, you were just the most fucking adorable being in the universe; which brought up the dire need to know where he stood in your life.
He just hoped that your “guardian angel” wasn’t with you at the moment.
“Well,” thought Ikaris, “demon would be a more accurate term in describing her.”
Kaetlyn was a different topic of conversation to say the least. Simply put, her abilities allow her to manipulate shadows and darkness. In battle, she would first scope out any areas that had Deviants to gain any information that would be an advantage. She would do this by either sending her shadows out, or just traveling through any shadows herself. Ikaris loathed to admit it, but her affinity for intelligence-gathering was far superior than the rest of them. Not only that, but she was a more than capable fighter. She would aim her dark arrows to the Deviant’s weakest point, and let the shadows embedded in it sink into their bodies to tear them from the inside out.
After its confirmed death, she would use her shadow portals to transport them to her personal laboratory at the Domo to “study” their anatomy and physiology. And if that wasn’t enough, Ajak just- just- ALLOWS IT! Even going so far as to ask for your assistance at certain times!
Ajak was one matter – after all, the Prime Eternal served as a maternal figure to everyone, including him – but he was more shocked at your eager involvement in the dark assassin’s hobbies. He could never forget how brightly you smiled when you ran towards him in excitement at your realization that encasing the decaying specimens in a mixture of various alcohol solutions and formaldehyde created a much more effective embalming methods than encasing it in an alcohol solution with herbs and spices.
You went on for hours about how you discovered the gas during one of the fires that nearly destroyed the village a few months back. Luckily very few of the villagers died, but you noticed how the victims who only died through exposure to the smoke decomposed much slower than normal. You then ended up trying to explain the process of precipitating the gas into a liquid solution, along with how to properly categorize it so that it wouldn’t be accidentally ingested. You and he ended up talking for so long that you ended up completely missing the feast held in celebration of the harvest that year. Ajak was quite cross with the both of you – Ikaris especially since he is usually so punctual with social engagements – but how could he be upset after having hours of your sole attention? You too were not put off by your leader’s slight scolding. On the contrary, you were more than relieved considering how much you hated these events.
You were kind and thoughtful; she was argumentative and crass. You were radiant brilliance; she was unhinged madness. You brought light and its hopeful beginnings; she oozed out darkness and all its mad chaos. You were life; she was death. So why did you latch onto her as if she was your only tether to the ground?
…You were being controlled by her- that had to have been it. Ikaris refused to believe that someone as wonderful and kind as yourself would willingly subject themselves to that-that-that- hell spawn!
“Y’know,” an annoyed voice broke his thoughts, “I’d really appreciate it if you’d didn’t call the love of my life a ‘hell spawn’.”
“For the love of Arishem,” thought Ikaris, “anyone but him.”
Taking a deep breath, he turned to find Druig.
“And I’m more than certain that our sweet Sephia wouldn’t exactly be ecstatic in knowing how you referred her very favorite person in the world that particular term either.” The mind controlling Eternal finished off with that damned trademark smirk of his.
Gods, Ikaris wanted nothing more than to shove that face a thousand feet in the ground right now. But he didn’t want to afford to lose his temper now. Not when he still hoped to find you.
“Pretty sure Ajak made it a rule for you not to use your powers on your fellow Eternals,” he snapped, “considering your habit of using it on the humans already.”
“Please,” he quipped back, “you’re the one pacing and muttering like a mad man in the middle of the courtyard.” He slightly cocked his head to the side in a facetious manner, “Anything I could help with?”
Ikaris didn’t want to tell Druig his plans…he wanted less for Druig to know about his plans with you. But Druig was close to you…even only through mutual association by Kaetlyn.
“Why are Sephia and Kaetlyn friends?” He blurted out.
“…Seriously?” Druig asked, “that’s what making act so crazy?”
“Just answer the damn question Druig.”
“…Why do you want to know?” The mind controller asked, very sure he wasn’t going to like Golden Boy’s response, but felt it necessary for his own peace of mind.
“…It doesn’t make any sense to me.”
“Excuse me?” His tone was growing colder with each passing second.
“Druig, I understand that you are incapable of being objective towards your… lover,” Ikaris started, “but even you have to admit you found their friendship to be unusual?”
“I can’t say that I have,” Druig answered, “I happen to think my angel as a lovely individual. A sentiment also agreed on by most members of the team- even your biggest fan Kingo adores her. Unconventional views? Maybe. Relentless tenacity? Absolutely. But that is exactly the foundation my beautiful Kaet’s adoration of Sephia, and vice versa.”
“I don’t- wait- I don’t understand?” Ikaris interrogated the besotted Eternal, “All she does is question Ajak’s authority, and commit senseless acts of childish rebellion! How does that lead to her being close with someone -”
Druig’s blank stare was almost terrifying.
“What Ikaris?” he asked, “Someone like Sephia? And how do you see our Sephia? Someone dutiful? Beautiful? Kind? Sweet? Perfect? How wretchedly mundane and so very one-dimensional- even for you.”
“That’s not it,” Ikaris was getting angry, “stop putting words in my mouth-”
“It’s not exactly a hard thing to do with you, my friend. But you and Sephia aren’t particularly close. She may be cordial with you, but she’s like that with everyone. So why the interest?”
“…I know that…Sephia is considered…different,” Ikaris began, “from a behavioral standpoint – but- tha- that’s not- I don’t think of her any less because of it.” This was much harder than he expected.
Druig lifted one of his eyebrows, signaling for the taller Eternal to continue.
“I like her ‘quirks’ – I can’t say I understand what they are, but – I know that-that they are a part of her, and not in a way that her powers are hers. But I also know that, that they don’t make up who she is as a whole.” Why was his throat closing up? “And…I like that she sees me.”
“…Yeah, no shit genius, it’s not like you can turn invisible. Believe me, not seeing your face would be a great improvement to my life.”
Ikaris scowled while turning so he could fly far from the black-clad armored telepath, “Forget it, I don’t know why I thought to share this with you of all people-”
“You don’t feel judged around her, is that it?”
Ikaris stopped, and once more faced Druig. The shock on his face was almost hilarious…if only Druig wasn’t about to completely expose himself at the moment, then he could at least properly enjoy the dumbfounded look on Ikaris’ face.
“Do you feel like you can talk to her about anything? That you could trust someone with something so humiliating? And then you’re angry because once you actually said those, you’ve realized that you’ve given someone full ammunition of yourself for them to use against you?”
The silence between the two powerful immortals was stifling.
“But then time passes,” Druig continues on, “and even after you pushed them away, they still accept you. Because they saw you, not an image other people projected on to you. And despite all reason, they decided to stand beside you.”
Ikaris’ eyes were bulging out of his head, “How- how did you know-?”
“I know, because I’ve been there,” Druig’s eyes softened just a tad, “with Kaety.”
…What?
“…Well, if you’re so curious about their companionship, I suppose the best way would be to ask directly from the source.” Druig reasoned as he pointed his head to two figures walking towards them.
You, in a soft white tunic with a long pink skirt with some brass jewelry. Today, you decided to let your hair loose with a few braids. Ikaris thought it was a bit curious on how you detested the humans’ worship of you, yet you still preferred their clothing options as opposed to your armor that showed your Olympian origins. However, armor or not, you still glowed a soft and heavenly aura unique only to you. You were in deep conversation with Kaetlyn, who wore a simple white linen dress with a patterned dark blue border skirt and a silver chained belt, and styled her hair in a loose braid.
Noticing the figures in front of them, Kaetlyn immediately pulled a look of just absolute disgust at the realization that Ikaris of all people was interrupting her peaceful day. Curious to your friend’s strange reaction, you turned your head and let out a warm smile and waved enthusiastically to the two men. You were well-aware of your friend’s distaste of the taller Eternal, but he was always kind with you. Besides, if you could occasionally put up with Kingo’s hubris, Kaety could certainly tolerate Ikaris’ company for a few moments.
Druig stepped in view, and Ikaris saw how quickly your feral companion’s expression changed at the sight of her lover. She lightly jogged to meet him in the middle as she threw her arms around his neck. Looking the strange sight, Ikaris noted that when she genuinely smiled, she looked almost…approachable? Druig took Kaetlyn in his arms, and the two pressed their lips together in a tender kiss. And just like that, the spell was broken and Ikaris was inwardly cringing from disgust as he turned his head away from the sight.
As a result, he was unable to see Druig lean forward and softly whisper to her ear of the plight that their mutual grey-streaked hair irritation was experiencing. Wanting to dismiss it immediately, Kaetlyn recalls all the times your cheeks lightly flushed in Ikaris’ company. And despite her obvious distaste for the man, she could tell that he at least wanted to genuinely understand her best friend. And she was more than positive that you were feeling “something” for him; however unaware you were of it yourself. Taking pity on the man, she walked over to you and explained how Druig wanted to explore the area for hidden caves. As a result, you and her would have to continue your discussions of how to properly develop the Punica granatum and its nutritional benefits for expectant mothers at another time. But luckily, Ikaris would be more than happy to escort you back to the Domo.
Before walking away, Ikaris felt a sharp pinch to his side, and looked down to find Kaetlyn’s shadow pinching his? Annoyed, he looked up to reprimand her, but his blood ran cold meeting the shadow Eternal’s gaze.
“Do anything that causes her discomfort,” her eyes seemed to shout, “and I will make your own shadow tear you apart bit by bit.” Quickly turning her head, the dark wisps quickly reattached themselves to their mistress. And the two Eternals were left alone with only themselves for company.
Looking back at you as you basked in the daylight, its golden light only enhancing the glow from your softness. Ikaris had only one thought in his head as he tries his damnedest to not reach out and press your suppleness against his hard frame.
“Fuck.”

for whom the bell tolls - p.p

summary: y/n can’t help but take revenge on the person who ruined her childhood. as hard as peter tries, he nor the avengers can stop her.
peter parker x reader
a/n: i rewatched infinity war today so i was in an mcu mood yk :)) i also used a villain name generator so that’s why his names a little funky 😭 ALSO i kinda imagined y/n’s powers kinda like thenas cosmic energy weapons in eternals!!
y/n has had nothing but fury for one man her whole life. the man who lay her mothers body in front of her as she watched her life crumble before her eyes. her home was destroyed, along with her regular childhood.
she was just a normal kid. she played outside with friends on the playground. she talked to them during lunch in school. she came home and spent time with her parents. she hadn’t even hit the third grade before it was turned upside down.
y/n hadn’t seen this excuse of a person since her parents were murdered before her. he never produced the fighters himself, leaving it to his own workers. she remembers the exact face summoning her away and placing her into doom. the experiments were run, and she was forced into isolation from her peers in the world.
nightsiege had been behind the whole matter, the mastermind. he was able to capture y/n at the perfect time, training her to become one of his own army with combat skills and using her own powers.
y/n was fully aware of the life she was missing. she watched the world around her as she could never escape the nightmare. she was supposed to be top of her class, but she was top product of the nightsiege’s manipulation instead.
it wasn’t until the base was invaded by the avengers when receiving their own threat, easily being able to demolish the sources. y/n stood out immensely. she wasn’t running for cover, she was fighting for herself. the team knew she needed help, but they also knew she had too much potential to be a hero. so, they took her back to the compound. they trained her properly in new york, trying to undo some of the trauma impended on her from the siege corporations. pretty soon, she was enrolled into school, easily meshing in educationally but socially was another story.
being completely shut out from the world sets you back. she was awkward, but a sweet soul. she just wanted friends, and the adorable boy came over to her with his friend to sit with her. peter knew what it was like to be an outcast. of course, not the same way y/n was, but he was a friend. yeah, tony had told him to be nice to her, but it meshed into more. she became a true functioning person in society because of peter. he guided her through life, teaching her about things she missed when she was being experimented on. she held him dearly, having nothing but admiration for him. he never once stepped away from her side. he listened to all of her stories, and spent time with her out of school. he became her person, her safe space. peter knows what it’s like to have a responsibility that you didn’t ask for.
peter was completely mesmerized by her abilities, making swords and shields from her bare hands. her defense was incredible, and peter became better from her. y/n opened peters eyes more than by just training. he came to terms that you can do a lot with a little. it doesn’t matter what your background is, because anyone has to power to rescue someone else.
peter vividly remembers the day he asked her out. he was shaking like a leaf all day, may almost having to sedate him. he didn’t want to overstep on her growth, taking note on how far she’s come. he couldn’t hold it in anymore. it felt like something was holding them apart from growing up together, and he needed to say something before it all turned to rust. she eased him quickly, calming all his anxieties with just one kiss.
they spent every day together. weekends and weekdays were filled with school and training and missions. this was one of the days, after school in the training rooms of the compound. they had it all alone, and y/n stood holding pads for peter to punch.
“c’mon, y/n!” he shouts, happily. “stop going easy on me!”
“i’m not going easy on you!” she replies. “trust me, you’d be begging me to stop if i went any further.”
“…that’s what she said,” peter whispers as y/n smacks the pad against his head.
“grow up, spider-boy,” she beams, continuing to let him practice.
the rest of the avengers were in the other room, discussing an upcoming debacle. tony, steve, natasha, and bruce stood around the table, connecting with thor in asgard. “if he hasn’t been to asgard, tony, he’s back to earth.”
“didn’t we go to that department the other day?” nat adds. “y/n was there for that, he could’ve somehow heard she’s with us.”
“because he wants her back. she’s only getting more powerful and he wants to manipulate her more,” steve speaks next, starting to put the puzzle pieces together.
“well, why didn’t the creep come sooner if he knew she was out? he’s only coming because he knows she’s with us,” tony questions.
“nightsiege wanted her to get to her highest level of skill before he started to utilize her. besides, he’s been anti-avenger since the day we formed so we’re the last people he wants her with,” nat tells him. “it’s similar to the red-room. you were used until you were perfect. he wouldn’t even kill her, he’d just torture her further.”
“do we tell her, i mean, i think she has a right to know-“
“no,” steve tells bruce. “she could get hurt or killed if she tries to intervene. it’s best if we handle this on our own, without her and peter.”
“handle what?” peter asks, his soft voice ringing through the room as y/n stands behind him, looking fearfully at the superheroes in the room.
“so he’s only coming back to take me away?”
“basically, yes,” tony says.
“what about the other ones? why doesn’t he want them?”
“they’re not with the avengers, and none of them have the skill set that you have with the powers,” bruce tells her, looking into her frightened eyes, trying to cover up her worry. “and your parents, probably have something to do with it.”
“he killed them, that’s the deal with them,” y/n sits in the chair, thinking heavily about the situation in her hands. “i’m finding him.”
“no,” peter murmurs. “i don’t think that’s a good idea, like at all.”
“the kids right,” tony says. “you’re one of the strongest forces on this planet but you don’t have the capabilities to fully take this guy down.”
a switch flips in y/n, a side of her that she tried to bury away is released. she’s craved revenge and shooting karma his way, but she’s held it in. its been on the tip of her tongue since she watched her parents take their last breath and now it’s right in front of her. peter saw her eyes darken at the mention of him. he watched the bright smile on her face disintegrate away at the thought. a naïve part of him hoped they were past it. the young, innocent parts of themselves prayed that he was gone, never to return. unfortunately, it’s never that simple.
the second y/n ran out of that room and left the compound, they knew they were in for a ride of hell. y/n became like a daughter to them, and friend. they treated her like royalty since they say they found her, often forgetting that she capable on her own since she was so young.
when y/n found herself taking the jet, she knew she could never go back. just leaving the compound meant she was in too deep, and she just hoped she wouldn’t regret it. she was able to track down a secret management base that nightsiege would be most likely to go to. that’s where the all the information is, different from the actually training site.
“y/n’s gone,” tony alerts. “she’s trying to find nightsiege alone, which she can’t do.”
“i’ll check the tracking status on the missing jet,” bruce moves to one of the computers, seeing the new site on the map. “she’s at the info base.”
“damn it, kid,” tony shakes his head, rubbing his eyes. “well, suit up, what are we waiting for?”
peter glances as him anxiously, knowing y/n wants to do it alone. peters always tried to please everyone. if y/n gets mad at him, he’ll get mad at himself and he can’t handle her people being mad at him. peter knows there’s a right and a wrong here, and he senses full jeopardy coming toward y/n. he’s loved her for years, and peter is y/n’s favorite person. so, he goes along with avengers, going to find y/n and her vengeance.
when y/n climbed through the back entrances, she was confronted with pure darkness. the only thing that she could hear was the light whirring of the air and machinery above her. the room was filled with metal pipes and tanks. there were small offices, pitch black with nothing but a white shade in front of the windows. she illuminated her path by using a golden defense baton that was formed from her hands. her footsteps from the thick boots on her feet echoed through the tall ceilings.
when she stepped forward, she felt a bench of buttons and switches in front of her. she pressed the power key, causing a screen to shine in front of her. it contained files and sections of confidential information at the tip of her fingers. as she was preoccupied looking at the words on the massive screen, the noises behind her did not go unnoticed.
“i thought that i’d find you here,” he speaks strongly, chills rushing down y/n’s spine. she never knew that the sound of someone’s voice could make her feel sick to her stomach. “what’s brought you to me, child?”
“i’m ending all of this,” y/n turns, making eye contact with the monster in front of her. he had his own protection on, covered in armor and his own weapons. she points to the screen in front of her, all of the crucial files, including her own.
“you’ll never get those files, y/n. you are not nearly as strong as you need to be. i came to save you.”
“i don’t need any more saving, not from you.”
“you’ve been poisoned by the avengers. they’ve brainwashed you and completely put you in a box. i made you the strongest version of yourself.”
“the worst version of myself was when i was under your control. you’re a weak, weak man who has nothing going for him but a bunch of lame excuses of experiments. you ripped my life to pieces with no remorse.”
his feet slam closer to y/n, his figure coming more into sight as she takes another step backwards. “you’ll never learn, y/n. your parents were never good for you. i saved you.”
flashes of the people who really saved y/n go through her mind. memories of her and peter together are flooding her. every touch, every word, every moment with him. the life she has now is only because of peter. every single part of her wishes he were there to fight this battle with her, but she had to do it alone.
“you’re psychotic,” y/n whispers as he shakes his head with a manic smirk on his face.
“you’re never getting what you want from me.”
“then i’ll get it from your corpse,” y/n spits out at him, shooting out swords from her wrists in milliseconds. she charges toward him, releasing bursts of energy onto his body, forcing him back before he gets up. he runs toward her, grabbing her much smaller body and throwing it against the wall with his strength. she slides down with the shattered glass, picking herself up as he walks over with his knives.
her hand meets his forearm, her leg smashing into his waist, making him buckle over. his grip remained on the weapon, leaving a slash over y/n’s thigh. she grunts out, but is able to form a ring of energy over her hand, connecting it with his throat as she kicks in the back of his knees.
his hand is in defense on his neck, but the power from him brings down chunks of the metal ceilings, falling around y/n and collapsing on top of her.
she forces a shield out of her, shoving the debris off her body and swiftly acting back on the villain. she somehow manages to land an aggressive punch on his face, temporarily disorienting him. his own fist connects with hers, covered in rough metal. her nose dripped of blood, leaving smears along with the cuts and bruises on her face from earlier impacts. her body’s tired, wanting to just leave and give up but never being able to let him win. he would kill her because he’s scared of her. somehow, the thought of him being scared pushed her even further.
the next time she blinked, she saw nightsiege being swept away, a long string of webbing dragging him backward. he was confused by the sticky substance on his back, slicing it off with his smaller knife. when he tried stepping forward again, one of the arrows from clint had exploded, forcing him onto his back before he could even think.
y/n brought herself up, landing toward him as she pushed herself up with the energy. her indestructible knife was no match for his, the two having it out in the middle of the ground. caps shield had come between the two, slicing the blade in half as y/n’s was faded back into her powerful hands. the force from the shield had sent nightsiege back onto the ground on his back. when he leaned up, his knife sliced cleanly across y/n’s stomach, leaving a deep gash into her body. she gasped out in pain, holding her abdomen with her free hand as she wobbled.
another forcefield was spread around them, blocking off the rest of the avengers from them. it was only y/n and nightsiege in the area now. it was up to her to kill him and his plans.
peter banged on the forcefield, pounding his fists while screaming y/n’s name. “mr. stark! we have to get this down! please, y/n!”
“kid, calm down,” he tries to ease the boy in front of him, but also battling his own worries. peters were unmatched. his eyes were glued on his girlfriends injured figure, in agony as she continued to move this guy further into the ground. peter tried to break down the barrier, but it was impossible.
y/n glanced at peter again, and maybe for the last time. she took a shaky breath, smashing more power into him to keep him down. the eye contact with peter was excruciating. she barely wanted to look at him, wanting to just fall into his arms and run away with him. however, just like she knew, there was no turning back.
she formed restraints around nightsieges wrists, tying them to the ground as she stepped over him. a circular weapon with sharp, serrated edges as she moved herself closer to him.
“you’ll nev-never be… a hero,” his raspy voice comes out, leaving a sour taste in y/n’s mouth. she tries to ignore the burning pain throughout her body before she retorts back at him.
“rot,” she says. “in hell,” with severe grit in her voice, she lands the weapon into his chest, robbing his lungs of oxygen and watching his frail body gasp for air. she watched his eyes unfocus, and the sinfulness in his eyes turns to death.
as the barrier disintegrates around her, peter is sprinting toward her. her eyes are staying on the dead body of the man who destroyed her, before they slowly adjust to peter.
“hey!” he says, softly. “y/n, we have to get you help!”
“peter,” she whines, letting herself fall into him as the rest of the avengers move to catch her. peter has her, though, and he doesn’t ever want to let go. “i have to end this.”
“you did, baby,” his hand lands on the side of her face. “it’s over.” she shakes her head no, limping over to the screen and the controls in front of her. with the clicks of a few buttons and the blur in her eyes, every last file is wiped from existence. she can finally say it’s over, and she can believe it at last. before she knows it, her body can’t withstand the pressure of her injuries, letting herself fall to the floor of the building.
next time she is awake, the bright lights of the recovery unit of the compound make her squint. no amount of lights could conceal the beautiful face in front of her, gripping her hand as peter looks like be might doze off himself. she looks around at her body on the bed, covered in thick bandages and wires.
“pete?” she asks, vulnerably.
“yeah, i’m here, you’re ok,” he tells her, sweet as ever in her mind. she smiles at him lightly, his hand brushing the sides of her hair. “you did it, y/n/n.”
“it’s done, peter.”
“mhm, all because of you. you saved more people than i can think of. you’ve always been a hero, y/n. you’re so much more than that too.”
she tries to lean up, wiping the tears off her face to give him a kiss. he realizes her attempt, then standing up to land a soft kiss on her lips. “i love you, peter.”
peter blinks, his heart moving a million miles an hour. they’ve been dating for a while, but somehow this one feels different. watching her inch closer to her deathbed made the three words meaningful than he thought they could get. he loved her too, more than anything in the world. “i love you too,” he replies, almost embarrassingly fast. his hand covers his mouth, causing giggles to leave y/n’s mouth.
“c’mon! she just got out of surgery and they’re making out in the recovery wing!” tony complains, making natasha shake her head with a grin.
“leave them be, tony,” she laughs. “she’s finally free, let him kiss the girl.”
“fine, but,” tony presses the loudspeaker button, his voice coming through the room. “i have my eye on you fools!”

Mini Fanfic #1132: Cuddly Date Night (King of Fighters)
9:45 p.m. at Yabuki's Residence's Living Room........
Leona: Unbelievable~ (Cuddling Under a Blanket With Shingo on the Loving Room's Sofa While Smirking Seductive at Him) Cuddling with the Colonel's daughter at the comforts of your own home?~ (Starts Snuggling Up on Him) How very scandalous of you indeed!~
Shingo: (Chuckles Lightly and Ticklishly by his Girlfriend's Snuggles) Easy for you to say!~ Snuggling up with your cute boyfriend in his own home is a pretty rebellious move on your end, ma'am~
Leona: (Raises an Eyebrow While her Smirk Starts Getting a Little More Wider) You're cute you say?~
Shingo: (Eyes Begins to Widened at the Realization of What He Just Said) Cute? H-Handsome! Handsome. W-What I meant to say that you're snuggling up with handsome, cute- Ah dang it! (Starts Pouting a Little While Twiddling his Fingers) Can we start over? I messed up on a few lines......
Leona: (Giggles Softly) Shingo!~ There's nothing wrong with being labeled as "cute". It's one of many traits I love about you~
Shingo: ('Sigh') I know, but I wanted to sound more cool and rebellious like you did a second ago.
Leona: Well, I'm flattered you think highly of me amd performance~ (Smiles Sheepishly) Though, to be honest, I don't think I have what it takes be an actual rebel.....
Shingo: Same. I'm too chicken to cause trouble on purpose for the life of me....
Leona: (Shrugs) It's seems we're both too pure for this troublesome world I suppose.
Shingo: I don't mind the sound of that. As long as we're in this together.
Leona: (Smiles Softly) Of course~
Shingo: (Gives his Girlfriend a Kiss on The Lips Before Sighing in a Relaxed Manner) I'm so glad I have the day off tomorrow......
Leona: (Frowns a Bit in Worry) I take it your day at work today was stressful this time around.
Shingo: ('Sighs a Bit Heavily') Yeah....Something like that. Rude customers constantly rushing us to get their orders done, I had to break up a fist fight shortly after while having a cup of coffee thrown at my face.
Leona: Oh no. Was it hot and scolding?
Shingo: No, it wasn't fortunately, but it wasn't any less annoying that's for sure. Then after that, some big guy with glasses starts barging into the shop, and rather than order his drink like any sane person here, he instead starts going around demanding us to bring Athena out and give him a Psycho Ball across the face!
Leona: (Genuinely Couldn't Believe What She's Hearing Right Now) Why....couldn't he asked for an autograph instead? That would've clearly been more safer.
Shingo: THAT'S WHAT I'VE BEEN SAYING!! But when i tried to tell him that and Athena's busy at the moment, he started yelling at me about how I'm just some common slave worker who doesn't deserve to breathe the same air as her, let alone be associated with her establishment to begin with!
Leona: (Forms a Darken Glare on her Face) You don't say......
Shingo: (Quickly Calms Leona Down) N-N-Now hold on, Leona-san! There's no need for you to worry! Really!
Leona: (Slowly Calms Herself Down) Are you sure?
Shingo: Positive! I mean, sure, what he said was upsetting and it almost made me wanna punch the guy, but lucky for him, Malin and Hinako were able to kick him out before another fight happened. 'Thena even went out of her way to make caramel tea to help calm my nerves before it was finally time for me to clock out for the day.
Leona: ('Sighs in Relief') That's good to hear. I'm happy we have to day to ourselves tomorrow.
Shingo: You're off too, Leona-san?
Leona: (Simply Nodded) That's right. Father insisted I take the a day or two off to a change.....(Smiles Softly) And luckily for you, I'm more than willing to spend every moment of with you, darling~ (Starts Snuggling Up on Shingo Some More)
Shingo: (Smiles Back While Blushing) Yeah~ How was your day, Leona-san? I hope it wasn't as bad as mines.
Leona: (Giggles Softly) Don't worry, it wasn't. It went a lot better than I expected it would go actually.
Shingo: Nice! Did anything exciting?
Leona: Not really? I was tasked to train and instruct some of the new recruits in the lower ranks while Ralf and Clark were away to their mission.
Shingo: (Eyes Widened in Genuine Surprise) You did? That's so cool! What did you taught them?
Leona: Only the basics: How to prepare themselves in the battlefield, how to aim and shoot at the target precisely, how to blend in with their surroundings without begin seen by the enemy, and so fourth.
Shingo: Were you nervous?
Leona: A little, but it didn't take too long for me to work up the courage to the take the lead fortunately. It also helps that the recruits were all cooperative throughout the whole ordeal.
Shingo: That's good. Does it feel like something you wanna do again sometime in the near future?
Leona: I suppose, but only when I'm ordered to do so again. I don't think I have the capabilites become a full fledged leader just yet.
Shingo: That's understandable. Leadership takes a lot of work from what I've heard.
Leona: You've heard right. It takes years of building trust and forming a strong connection with your fellow comrades into becoming one. Both qualities I must learn if I were to ever lead again.
Shingo: (Gives Leona a Reassuring Smile on his Face) Don't be afraid to give it your all. I know you'll become a great leader one of these days.
Leona: (Heart Begins to Melt in Genuine Happiness) And I know you'll become even more a stronger fighter than you are now. Which is why we are going to the gym and train first thing tomorrow morning.
Shingo: (Eyes Widened Again) On our day off!?
Leona: (Gives Shingo a Stern, Yet Cute Looking Pout on her Face) Don't act suprise, mister. You know as well as I do that we've been falling behind in our training sessions as of late, thanks to our work schedules.
Shingo: ('Sigh') True. And I have been wanting to try out a few new moves I've came up recently.....Can we go to gym at 10am instead at least?
Leona: I suppose we can do that. But ONLY if you give me more of your loving for the reminder of the night. That's am order
Shingo: (Chuckles Lightly) Yes, ma'am~ (Starts Kissing on Leona's Cheeks)
Leona: (Giggles Ticklishly by her Boyfriend's Kisses) Shingo-Kun, you adorable dummy! Slow down a bit, will ya?~
Shingo: (Stops Kissing Leona For a Second Before Chuckling Some More) What?~ You said it was an order.
Leona: (Starts Calming Herself Down From all the Giggling) I did, I did. But you haven't given me the time to prepare myself yet.
Shingo: Right. Sorry about that. Take as much time as you need, 'hon.
Leona: Thank you. (Takes a Deep Breath Before Smiling Brightly Again) Okay! Now I'm ready~
Shingo: One kissing session coming right up!~
And so Shingo resumes back to kissing Leona on the cheeks, causing her giggle amd smiling even more ticklishly than she did originally under his embrace as the movie they were previously watching, continues to play the whole time.

Thena Vs Kro - Eternals Final Fight Scene | Sprite stabs Sersi | Ikaris ...
youtube
Good I get to hit him several times he's such a blaspheme and a loser remember is the Gods and they're the ones doing it and all this other s*** it's just Billy Hicks and a little boy.. we can see it in his face no surprise and it's about to use surprised he's about to say how does it feel to know you're going to die and I use a split second and he goes away for a little bit and I'm kind of get one this is when this is I think it's after the whole he is possessed he's a loser and ruins everything and very quickly and our friend here doesn't like him in any way and says when he's lizard man he won't be allowed here other mutants are kept off. What do you see that we do see that Camilla comes in occasionally but people have to be here so we don't know how that happens but let's all say goodbye to Trump it's ruined our people I'm kind of the same race and he's a massive fool we had a chance to win completely any fluid
Angelina Jolie
I'm not Julie Williams that's a stupid idiot Trump good God is he dumb
..
We have heard enough from Trump and he's a spaz and idiot a loser and his lizard Man and he's possessed with something else and it's his crew of idiots probably from Avatar and their junkies and they're ruining our day there's a whole bunch of them fighting us and we're using suits and stuff and he won't stop bothering us or trying to do something and it seems to find out exactly where and when all the time with aspire to and it ruins everything we're not going to get anywhere and the max aren't getting anywhere and the guy has to go you couldn't control himself if he wanted to he's always this idiot hack in the movies ruining everybody's stuff it's really strange I look at the movies I do and I'm kind of a jerk and I play things wrong a little but I'm human and I'm doing a character and he says he can't see anything that massively drastically awful but this guy blows his lines are so heavy and he says he's saying things that he said when is really pissed off and trying to use it as an excuse and it's just really raunchy and moronic it makes you mad and now I see what he's saying this guy is a piece of s*** it needs to flushed a long time ago he's Billy Hicks and boy what a Wonder okay you should see him with this guy's like you watch him when he's not near our friend he's just as bad but he's so clueless and he's such a stupid person and he's wired to respond like some sort of half-assed fighter and I've seen it before and clones they do it sometimes but he's just as complete geek and f** and he's terrible who says the closest thing to it is cork when he's squished and really it is something interesting not to be desired they're they're horrible but he's like it all the time he's just complete maniac I will tell you one thing he exposed with an accident but that a huge price and we knew about it and we're ready and we need to figure out what happened for real and it's supposed to divvy it up he wouldn't negotiate so something went wrong and he says he went after people to keep it all and it didn't work and it just was hurting people and making them stupid and but what triggered him to do it in the first place is probably the max cuz they thought they'd take it all and it turns out that having this guy blab the whole time ruined it it goes back to us getting something I'll be amazed that this is a plan he says it's not his in whole but it's part of it cuz he figured out these guys will never let him have anything and they'll just continue pilfering Us in this the max I come in like the tide and go out and nobody will notice that will softly go out into the night like Michelle Pfeiffer says and instead we have a rank as fight and we fight each other and you turn into some kind of dragon mutant kind of weird thing your second fighting but he says you're not as fast as the creature and you're not juiced up and you can't handle the juice so I do understand that and it's still wicked but still I mean you got teeth and claws you don't do anything well we're in suits so it did pretty good considering they're in suits but he says usually a dragon with the just breathe fire and the suit would be gone not gone but the guy would be charbroiled like a what do you call those things corn dog. That's really gross that they don't they don't use the fire that much and he says it probably eats their brain up and I said this wow that's stupid but really gross okay I mean that's way over the top and we don't want to do that but he says the max might be forcing it and who the hell cares as far as we know you have to find out what the damn status is before we come superheroes and screw around forever to see
Brad pitt
So he says to Angelina my wife stay away from me ogler cuz she's looking at him staring at him and he's going with the hell is that and I think you're Angelina near the co-star and Dune 2 and she says no I'm not that small and it wasn't me so I'm wrong again and good she gets the point you can take her out to dinner and your Lambo

Just Gil causally cracking some bones because they dared to slap Thena
AU is free to choose :)
"Oh, come on."
Gil shared the sentiment. He pulled the truck over, already bracing himself for whatever trouble was about to take place. He was sure they were just drunk kids partying, but sometimes that was the worst kind of citation to give.
Thena walked ahead, as the White Wolf would. They were almost at the end of their perimeter check and on their way back home when they spotted the fire through the trees. It wasn't in a particularly big clearing, the fire was way too large for the wildfire regulations of the state. And every once in a while it would surge, and it was definitely because they were tossing liquor onto the flames for fun.
"Who the hell are you?"
"Who the hell are you?!" Thena snarled right back at them. She walked into their little bonfire, happily knocking over an abandoned camping chair and a few bottles on her way. "Anyone want to tell me why you have a fire the height of a tool shed built in the middle of the damn woods?"
"Fuck off, Tomb Raider, it's open land, we can camp where we want."
Gil grimaced. So, this was going to go even worse than he expected. He attempted to inject some reason into the conversation. "Look, guys, the fire is way too big, it's a hazard. It's not a properly dug fire pit, or raised off the ground."
"Oh, sorry Sparky," another of the young men laughed at them. They weren't slurring their words but they were clearly far from sober. "I didn't realise the cops get called on people just trying to have a good time."
"We're not cops, guys, we're the fire department," he frowned, crossing his arms at them. "We don't care if you're walking around with booze or smoking anything. What we care about is you not setting the entire area on fire in the dry season."
"Oh yeah?" a particularly cocky, particularly mouthy one stood up from a log. He tossed his lit cigarette - at least, Gil thought it was a cigarette - on the ground (literally after he was just told to put it out properly!). He sauntered over to them, bottle of whiskey in hand. "If you're firefighters, doesn't that mean you're public servants? My tax dollars pay your fuckin' salary!"
"Our salary has nothing to do with your rich daddy," Thena snapped at him, pushing him back from Gil and into a position where it was harder to ignore her again.
"Hey, you're not allowed to touch me!"
"Oh, really?" she drawled, picking at his button up shirt - why would he wear that camping - and then his baseball cap and then just giving him a pat on the cheek. It was lighter than a slap but harder than something one would call affectionate. "Every single one of you needs to pack it up. If you're still here by the time we come back with the hose, you're getting sprayed."
"Won't that, like, kill us?"
"If only I could be so lucky," she rolled her eyes at them. She walked towards the other two, examining the scene. "We may not be cops, but you might not want to be caught with this amount of liquor. What if mummy and daddy discover what their precious little angels are up to?"
"We didn't-"
"Clean it up!" she snapped at them.
But they weren't high school kids, they were easily in college, maybe even graduated. And Gil didn't like the looks on their faces. He rolled his shoulders, drawing his posture up. "Seriously, guys, I don't want to have to come back and turn you over to actual cops."
The other two looked at their ring leader. Their complacency had limits, it seemed, but he didn't exactly tell them to stand up and fight his battle like little minions.
Thena walked past him again, and Gil had to admit he watched the guy closely. He didn't like the vibe any of them had, especially that one. He put his hands in his pockets, ready to get back in the truck.
"Hey, Snow White?"
"What did you-!"
Gil felt as if he'd heard a gunshot. The slap had a real crack to it, because the bastard hadn't held anything back. He looked happy about it, too--proud of himself. For...slapping a woman across the face.
He laughed as Thena stumbled back, blinking through the shock of it. "If you can touch me I don't see why I can't do the same. Don't say I'm not a feminist, because I'm not gonna go easy on you just for being pretty."
Thena recovered quickly, she moved her tongue around in her mouth and spit after probably nipping her tongue with her teeth from the impact. She glared at him. "And they say chivalry is dead."
"Come on, man."
"Yeah, let's just leave."
Gil ignored the other two. His only problem was this motherfucker. He walked over to him calmly. He had to be calm. His chest was burning but he controlled his breathing as he went over and picked the guy right up off the ground.
"What're-"
His little friends yelped as Gil slammed the guy down into the dirt. It was soft forest floor, he was fine; he couldn't be unconscious yet. Gil grasped his shirt again, lifting his head up before bouncing it off the ground like a ball.
"Hey," Gil leaned in, snapping his fingers in front of his dazed eyes. "Stay with me, Sleeping Beauty. Pay attention."
The guy just groaned, barely holding it together.
Gil picked him up again, adjusting him a few times until he could stand on his feet. "You think it's funny to slap a woman?"
The self proclaimed 'feminist' attempted to mumble something, but it was completely incoherent. It was honestly a total coin toss whether it was an apology or something that would just piss him off more.
Gil grabbed the front of his shirt again, making sure his head wasn't wobbling around when he spoke to him. "If I ever see you again, I'm gonna rip your little bobble head right off your scrawny shoulders."
Gil wound all the way back, landing an open palm slap that felt like it shook the trees. His little buddies were silent, unable to even freak out. Gil tested the kid's balance but he might have fainted from the slap. He shook him.
A few of the bones in his ear might have been damaged from that.
But Gil huffed. When his eyes opened again he let go of him. He stumbled and then fell over, trying to drag himself anywhere that might be safe.
"L-Listen, we're sorry, okay? We'll clean all this up!"
"We'll put out the fire! You'll never see us again!"
Weren't so complacent now, now were they? Gil rolled his eyes. He watched as they put an arm each over their shoulders to drag their positively incapacitated friend away.
"Anything else, buddy?" Gil leaned in for the final word from the man of the hour. His head was dangling and he was trying to mumble something again, although the side of his face was swelling rapidly. "Wassat? I can't hear you!"
"He said he's sorry!"
"Very sorry!"
Thena stepped aside as they rushed him away, she was assuming to the designated area for parking up the trail slightly. "Should we be letting them drive anywhere?"
"I'll call them an ambulance," Gil shrugged, pulling out they keys that had fallen out of their new friend's pocket when he was on the ground. He tossed them to her, "he's probably a little concussed."
She chuckled, examining the keychain, featuring their very expensive alma mater and the logo of the luxury car brand in question. "I'm not going to thank you for the knight in shining armour act. If you hadn't have knocked his lights out I might have given it a go."
"Sorry to deny you," he smiled halfheartedly. He knew that Thena wasn't the type to shy away from a fight, and that she wouldn't think it was helpful for him to lose it on a bunch of spoiled brats over it. But he scowled anyway.
She made a face as he just barely brushed the tips of his fingers over her cheek. "I'm fine."
"It's swollen," he corrected. He could still recall it perfectly, replaying it in a morbid and horrific way since the second it happened. The wind up, the glee on that asshole's face. The way Thena's silhouette against the fire was so much smaller than his.
She shrugged, testing the damage for herself with her own palm. "So I'll have a cold one when we get home. By tomorrow, it won't even matter."
By tomorrow she would have a bruise, and Gil wondered if this anger in him was really going to go away just like that. He wasn't usually the angry type, but he couldn't just let something like this slide.
"Thanks," she said more quietly, nudging his arm with the back of her hand. She slipped her hands into her pockets as she started in the direction of the truck. "I know you were just being sweet."
He sighed. If that was how she wanted to think of it, then he wouldn't stop her. But sure, what he thought was a completely natural response could be chivalry if she was used to living with wild animals.
Thena was already on the radio, ordering medical assistance to their location. Gil dragged his feet behind her until he could pull himself up into the truck cabin as well. "I suppose we should wait until we're sure those morons get picked up."
"I guess," Thena said lightly. And he knew damn well it was her way of saying they didn't have to rush home. If she was in pain, there was no way she was going to show it that easily. It simply wasn't her style.
"Y'know, if your boys hear about this they'd be just as pissed as I am," Gil muttered in his own defense. And smiled, because it did get a laugh out of her.
"My boys are just as bad as you are. But they would know better than to step in for me," she gave him a pointed look. He shrugged and attempted a cute smile. She rolled her eyes at him and settled into her seat more comfortably. "You fellas have too much sympathy in you. But a swift kick in the nuts always does the job for me."
Well, he could definitely agree that it was deserved, in this case.

Thena: Ikaris is on his way.
Kingo: Good, he’ll know what to do.
Makkari: What if he doesn’t? We could get killed.
Gilgamesh: Or even worse, Ajak might give us a lecture on responsibility again.

Druig's costume design is inspired. Every chaotic neutral (not quite good but not really evil either) person deserves a leather jacket.

Hawuuuuu can I request 9. pressing their foreheads together with Druig
Thank you
A/N - HAWUU! I love this! Thanks for requesting this, friend!
Strong
Summary - Druig reminds you of your strength
Tumblr media
Warnings - Just some fluff :)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
“Ya seem glum today,”
“I don’t wanna talk about it, Druig,”
Druig hummed, seeing you hold your knees to your chest and look out the window of your room on the Domo, seeing the raindrops hit the window in a thunderous rhythm as a clap of thunder was over the ship.  He cocked his head at you while he stood in the doorway of your room, not wishing to intrude without your permission.  He knew your room was a sacred place for you, a retreat when things were stressful or tough out in the field or against Deviants.  Druig was the same with his own space, though his room had fewer things and was more bare.  Not your room, filled with small trinkets and homemade gifts from humans that brought a coziness to your space.
“I have a hunch it has something to do with Ikaris,” Druig said, though mentioning the second in command made him squirm for a brief second.  Of course, it was well known that Ikaris and Druig were not the best of friends, nor would they ever be.  Ikaris, though a great leader and fighter, sometimes didn’t catch social cues and was subtle on certain topics. Although it was fun for Druig to see Ikaris make himself comical and almost a fool, he also hated it when that would affect others whom he admired.  Sometimes it was Sersi, sometimes it would be Kingo or even Phastos.
And now it was you.
You said nothing when he mentioned Ikaris, which was enough for Druig to know that he was right.  He then gestured to the doorway into your room, “May I come in?”
You nodded, still watching the window and the raindrops falling down on the window while Druig made his way over to you to sit across from you on the window still.  He felt it in the air as your bright eyes that reminded him of the fresh grass in spring stayed on the glass of the window.
“Ya shouldn’t take anything that Ikaris says to heart, half of it is basically him filled with hot air,” Druig explained as he cocked his head at you.
“He thinks I’m a weak fighter,” You mumbled, Druig paused as he heard the bitterness in your tone while you hugged your knees tighter to yourself and rested your chin on the top of your knees.  It seemed so silly to be wallowing over a simple comment, especially from Ikaris since you too knew of him being a bit too pompous at times.  But that day, after taking on a Deviant on your own and barely driving the assault, Ikaris made the side comment as you walked up to the Domo doused in Deviant blood.
You walked past him, trying not to bite back at him or punch him across the face from the comment.  But you could hear Thena scolding him as you made your way to your room to cry in the hot shower.
“He’s a liar,” Druig stated, no longer sounding light or aloof like he did moments before.  You finally looked away from the window and over at Druig, seeing him across from you and giving you a sincere gaze that was both truthful and with a hint of anger.  You knew that look on him, it was a look that was laced with truth and in being stubborn in his ways as he then softly smiled.  Something about that smile on his face, it made your stomach flip and flutter.  It didn’t help that he was close enough for you to see how blue his eyes were and how his hair delicately swept over his forehead.
“You’re one of the strongest fighters we have,” He explained, though you rolled your eyes and was about to look away.  He reached over to take a hand in his, lacing your fingers together to have you look at your connected hands with your breath floating away, “Your strength comes from within.  Something Ikaris can never have himself, or a lot of us for that matter.  I don’t think I have that kind of strength either, and I wish I did.  It’s one of the greatest things I admire about ya.”
Hearing this from Druig, from the Mind Controller himself, made your heart beat a little bit faster.  Feeling his hand in your hand, seeing his eyes pouring into yours to show you that he wasn’t lying, He gave the sensation of being safe, of being important to him, and most of all, being home.  Even after being on the planet for some time and having a strong bond with all the Eternals around you, there was never a time you felt like you were home.  Not until now.
Druig leaned forward, touching his head with yours as he was still pouring his eyes into yours and you were stricken in shock.  He was so close to you, you breathing in his unique scent that was on his skin and seeing his handsome face right there.  How close he was, how intimate it felt between the pair of you, it made you dizzy and yet strong at the same time.  Everything else faded away like the mist, and you were suddenly falling harder and harder for him with each passing second.
“You’re stronger than ya know,” He whispered to him, the soft tremble of his voice made you shiver, “If ya don’t believe, I’ll make ya believe it,”
As he kissed you for the first time in your room, you felt like you had enough strength to take on Ikaris tenfold.

Week two of training was the most difficult for all of them. Maverick explaining the depth of the mission and its details seemed to only add to your doubt that someone may not be coming back from the mission. But also fueling into the idea that it’s downright impossible.
“...Your airspeed will be 660 knots, minimum. Time to target; two and a half minutes…”
“...Your airspeed will be 660 knots, minimum. Time to target; two and a half minutes…”
Mission details were unfolded one by one. You glanced towards Coyote as you sat next to him, eyes wandering towards Hangman who was just cross. He looked weirdly relaxed for a mission which was probably impossible. The cold AC from above you was doing nothing to calm your shaking.
Maverick continued about how time was to be your greatest adversary and the amount of forced G’s your will be facing throughout the simulated mission before dismissing everyone into their teams for the exercise.
“Time to target is one minute thirty, we are two seconds behind.”
“We gotta move, Coyote, Athena.”
You heard Bob and Phoenix warn over the radio, examining the pathway ahead of you. The sheer force of gravity pushed the air out of your lungs as you let the familiar thrill of it take over you. A good one in fact-whenever you were at a high altitude. But now at a much lower hard deck, you felt like this was the last thing you’d ever wanted to do.
“Increase speed to 480 knots.” You ordered Coyote from behind him in the dual jet.
“Copy, increasing speed.” Javy replied back just as he increased his speed to Bob. You looked down on the pathway ahead through the small screen, taking notice of a slight edge that was sticking out of the hill. A possible disruption that could be a problem when Javy takes a turn. But before you could issue a warning Javy pushed on the throttle to increase his speed; instantly pulling it back down as he almost made contact with the side of the hill.
“Oh shit.”  Phoenix grunted over the radio, leaving You to look over their plane as it manoeuvred over yours, hitting the max ceiling.
Everyone had taken their turns, with only Rooster managing to successfully complete the exercise without breaking any of the conditions. They sat back in the hanger, analysing where everyone had gone wrong. You were starting to zone out next to Coyote but tried to keep a straight mind and focus on Mav’s critics. Before you could fully fall asleep on Javy, he tapped your thigh softly. Gesturing to the simulation that was now playing again on the screen.
“Why are they dead?” Mav questioned. Looking pointedly towards you and Coyote but before you could open her mouth to answer him, Phoenix piped up.
“We broke the 300-foot ceiling. The SAMs took us out.” She explained causing Maverick to shake his head and looking back at you and Coyote straight in the eye.
“No, why are they dead?” Dragging each word out.
“I slowed down and I didn’t give her a warning. It's my fault.” Coyote answered.
“Athena? Why are they dead? Was there a reason you didn't communicate with your team?” He pressed again. He knew about the systems as well as any other fighter pilot, he was once best friends with a WSO.
He had heard about your tales during your academy days through Warlock and Cyclone. The best of the best. So, for someone like you to not be at the top of your game was slightly concerning to Maverick.
“I saw the obstruction but I didn't give a warning in time. This led to Coyote increasing and decreasing his speed in an instant. Phoenix almost crashed into us before she had to break the ceiling in order to not crash. I’m sorry, sir.” You explained yourself, adding the apology at the end to console him as if you were talking to their family.
“An apology their family will accept at the funeral.” He stated before moving onto Phoenix and Bob.
Your head was hung low as you tried thinking back to when you were completing the exercise. To anyone it would have looked as though she saw it coming but weren't fast enough to give a warning in time. But to you, it was a late reaction time. As someone who was known to have a quick reaction to almost anything, this was unusual. A turn on the terrain that you were briefed on prior to it was only the simplest of tasks that even an undergraduate would have done. What is going on with your mind?
Football was a weird game. Having grown up playing anything other than the most beloved sport in the country, you- to this day couldn't understand why it was called football when all you did was pass the football with your hands.
Regardless, you didn't have much of a choice as it was already decided long ago by Maverick that today was Dogfight Football day.
“Offence and defense at the same time.” as Mav put it before selecting teams. Somehow you had ended up on the team opposite to Hangman’s. Lining up in your respective positions, you locked eyes with him. Putting two fingers up to where his eyes were and then pointing them back towards yourself as you heard Hindi’s whistle go off.
Every move you made, you felt him somewhere behind, but everytime you looked behind you found nothing.
You didn't know how long it had been since you’d started playing under the scorching heat that was beating down your backs. All you could feel was Hangman’s burning gaze in the back of your skull everytime you moved to defend.
“Yo, Thena! Heads up!” Payback shouted from ahead of you. Pointing to Rooster who was about to throw the ball in your direction.
You successfully managed to grab the ball from him, and just as she was about to throw it to Coyote, you felt it. A growing numbness in your skull. Head throbbing as it had done countless times in the last week. You shook your head, making a run for it regardless and throwing the ball towards Coyote without a second thought. He catched it with ease as you felt some of the people move from behind you to intercept it.
A hand suddenly appeared on your shoulder, jumping back in surprise, you turned towards the person who had just scared the living shit out of you.
“Woah. sorry, didn't mean to scare ya’ there, Athena.” Mav apologised before managing to grab a distance between the two of you.
“This is probably not the best time to talk about this but do y’ have a moment?” He asked politely before gesturing you off the makeshift field that you’d been playing on.
“Is everything okay, sir? If this is about the exercise the other day, I truly didn't have enough time to react to it-”
“It's not that.” He stopped you from rambling on before it got out of control. “I read your records, you graduated as a WSO and Fighter pilot?”
“Yes, sir.” You moved your hands behind your back, answering him curtly as you started walking back towards the beach chairs.
“May I ask how? It's not to be rude or anything, just curious. You don't see something like that everyday on someone’s file.”
Highlighting an interest in your training was something many people had done in the past. It was true, the path of training for both statuses wasn't nearly as easy as you had thought. It wasn’t even possible when you had presented the idea to her training officer back when you were a Top Gun trainee.
“I taught myself, actually. My training instructor said it was impossible and not typical for US pilots to be trained in both. But I already had previous training in both fields from being an weapons system operator overseas as an apprentice. I passed basic and complex training programmes for them. So they let me graduate with both diplomas.” You explained, going over each detail of your training. Which led Mav to question you further as you reached the end of the wet sands where Colonel Simpson stood, hands on his hips.
“What is this?” He questioned, looking over to the team that had Bob on their shoulders cheering for him as he made the last touchdown.
It made you smile.
“It’s dogfight football, offence and defence at the same time.” Mav repeated what he had explained to the rest earlier.
As Cyclone enquires further about the Mav’s game plan of making the guys a team, you moved further up the beach where Penny sat, most likely doing her taxes.
“Hey kiddo.” Penny says as you approach the bench she was sat on. Giving you a small wave. “There is beer inside if you want any, on the house.”
“Thank you Penny, but I’m technically working.” Slumping down across from her on the warm wood, you gave her a smile before looking out towards your friends and teammates. A solemn look on your face.
You let your eyes scan for him. Not wanting to make the staring obvious, but failing, because at that exact moment you unintentionally makes eye contact with his green orbs. Even from a few hindered yards of distance, you could make out that damn smirk that graces his lips again, sending you a wink.
“So, what’s up with you and Hangman?” Penny piped up, a suggestive smile on her face as she wiggled her eyebrows.
“What? Nothing. Nothing is going on between me and Jake.” You clarified, blood rushing it’s way up your neck and ears as you felt them burn hot.
“Didn’t look like that the other night.” That piqued your interest, looking back towards the older woman with a confused look.
“What do you mean?”
“The man couldn’t take his eyes off you the whole night, sweetie. Unfortunately, you were far too gone to notice it that day. Looked like a kicked puppy when you left with Coyote.” She explains,
“I think you should talk to him about it.”
Your mind wanders back to that night. A blurry haze of whiskey and pool. It was true that you had feel his stare from the moment you’d stepped foot at the hard deck but it didn’t take you long before you had completely blanked out.
“Oh” was the only thing you managed to choke out before you took notice of everyone that was currently making their way back towards the Hard Deck. Sending a wave towards them, you saw Payback and Coyote making a run towards you. Immediately knowing what they were up to, you made a run for it.
“You can’t run from us, Thena!” You heard them shout from behind you.
Running as fast as your lungs could take you. Causing them to lose your tail in the process but just as you were about to make a turn around the back entrance of the Hard Deck, you collided with hard flesh, almost losing your balance. Sweaty arms wrapped themselves around your waist as your eyes locked with marble irises. Jake. Your hands found a place at the centre of his chest as you stabled on your feet again.
“Woah there, sweetheart. Where are you off to?” Goddamn that accent was gonna be the death of you. You shook her head, as if physically trying to push the thoughts away from your mind. Refusing to speak to him, afraid that if you did- everything Penny had just told you about that night would spill like a waterfall.
Hesitantly, you cleared your throat, attempting to get away from him but his hands stayed put at the dip of your hips, locking you in place. You resisted his touch, struggling to remove his hands from you as he trapped you between him and the unusually cold wall behind her.
“Hangman, let go.” You spoke through gritted teeth.
He laughed at your failed attempts, there was no malice in it, but you couldn’t quite place what else it could be either.
He shook his head when you give up, crossing you arms in front of your chest. Looking up at him through thick lashes. The glowing sun that bounced off his back and the grains of sand that stuck to his chest did nothing to stop you from staring at him only made him look more heavenly. Stop it, you scolded yourself.
“What do you want?”
“You.”
You blinked, once, then twice, eyes widening in shock as your mouth fell open. Thinking you may have misheard him. Or even failed to hear a word or two before he said it.
“What?”
“I want you.”
It fell off his lips so softly that you almost melted in place. He placed a hand just under your jaw, forcing you to look him right in the eyes as he cupped the right side of your face. He looked at you with such tender and soft eyes, it made you dizzy. Heat radiating itself off his body suddenly did nothing to stop that.
You shook your head. This couldn't be happening. Not now…not when you were so close to proving yourself to him. That you didn't need him, not for the mission, not in any way.
“Jake...” His name floated out her mouth like a prayer, pleading. You tried again, to remove his touch that was burning into your skin, like it was to leave its traces forever.
You finally broke eye contact, looking down towards your feet that were buried in the sand, digging your toes further into them. Trying to ground or bury yourself in the warm grains.
“Jake, no, I can’t.” Pleading to him.
You didn't want to explain your reasoning, it was stupid, yes. But you don't wants to give him the satisfaction of doing a bigger mission without having to tell you why he left. If he had done so just before he had left, you may have forgiven him, but it’s done.
“Thena…if this is about me leaving you in Atlanta, i am so-”
“No, Jake. You don’t get to just leave and then apologise about it later. What if we weren't invited back to fighter town for this mission? Then what? What would you have done? Came back and apologised? Would you have done that?” You questioned, anger and frustration lacing your words.
His hands dropped, head hung low as he moved a step away before you continued; “No, you wouldn't because you are Jake Seresin. You don't get to stand here and confess that you want me when you could have been a decent person and apologised when we saw each other again at the hard deck two weeks ago.”
You huffed, vision blurring with the tears that were rolling down your cheeks in anger. You wiped them off immediately, finished with the reason as to why you were so angry at him.
“They kicked me off the team a day after you left, Hangman.”
His callsign held no malice as it left your mouth. This caused his head to turn back up, looking at you with a frown as you continued,
“Torch had called me into his office after you left and told me to pack my bags and leave. Saying I wasn’t needed on the team because you weren't there.”
He stood there with his feet planted into the sand. In disbelief. He hadn't known they had kicked you off the team, sure he had told Torch (the commanding officer for the mission) his reason for leaving but he hadn't expected them to throw you off the team.
But before he could open his mouth to apologise or comfort you, you moved, away towards your car that was parked just across from where you stood in the parking lot. Backing away while he still stood in front of the wall, pondering over his actions.
Snapping out of his daze, he ran after you, calling your name, telling you to stop which only made you go faster. As you got near to your car, you slowed, fresh tears still falling from your eyes. You tried to calm down.
Opening your car and locking the door. You heard frantic knocks on the window before Jake’s voice came through, muffled.
“Thena, Open the door! I just want to talk about this! Please!”
You ignored his pleading, closing your eyes and breathing deep before you fished out the keys from your shorts pocket and started the car. The knocking only got louder and his shouting more frantic as you pulled out of the parking space. Leaving him standing in the middle of the parking lot tarmac as you drove off.
You wished you could turn back time. Back to that goddamn mission and not argued with him everytime he opened his mouth. Maybe he would have stayed, maybe then you would have told him how you had liked him for so long. Maybe this mission wouldn't be so hard on you if you had told him this years ago. Spilling all of your love out for him the second he’d showed up at your doorstep that night when Javy wasn't in town to comfort you over a break up. Maybe he would have been the one…
